In this era of Industry 4.0, technology is advancing rapidly, and various applications are emerging to help traders optimize their product procurement. One such application is the forecasting or prediction system. Serba Serbi Online Shop Tanjungpinang is a shop that requires this system to manage its inventory successfully. As the shop offers a wide variety of goods, managing inventory has become challenging. The capital spent on inventory has increased, and unsold goods are piling up in the warehouse. To overcome this issue, the shop needs to calculate the amount of inventory required to reduce the stock build-up in the warehouse. The prediction method used for this purpose is the least square method. This method uses periodic or time-series data, which requires past sales data to predict future sales. Historical sales data is necessary to develop an inventory prediction system. The sales data for a single item from July 2022 to May 2023 was analyzed using the Least Square method. Based on this analysis, the predicted sales for June is 144.64, rounded to 145. The accuracy of the prediction results were tested, and the best accuracy was obtained from the prediction using 3 months of data, with an error rate of 5.47%. The prediction with the highest error rate was obtained from using 9 months of data, with an error rate of 10.65%. On average, the prediction accuracy is 0.02154%, which is considered very good.

These have been transformed over time through technological innovations. The purpose of this study is to gather relevant information about the technological innovation practices applied in inventory management by MSMEs. The methodology used in this research is ascribed to a qualitative, observational and descriptive approach. The purpose of this methodology is to collect and analyze information from specialized and reliable bibliographic sources. Based on the literature review, it is possible to argue that the influence of technological innovation in the inventory management of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has had a profound and transforming impact during the last decade, since the adoption of digital resources has completely reformulated the way in which these companies approach the management of their inventories. However, despite these advances, MSMEs face significant challenges, such as the initial investment required to implement inventory management technologies and the need to train their staff in the effective use of these technologies., La gestión de inventarios implica coordinar la planificación, control y supervisión del flujo y almacenamiento de productos en una organización, donde su propósito primordial es garantizar que los niveles de inventario sean suficientes para cumplir con la demanda de los clientes, al mismo tiempo que se reducen al mínimo los costos relacionados con el almacenamiento y el mantenimiento de los productos en existencia. Este estudio se plantea con el objetivo de recopilar información relevante acerca de las prácticas de innovación tecnológica aplicadas en la gestión de inventarios por parte de las Mipymes. La metodología empleada en esta investigación se adscribe a un enfoque cualitativo, de carácter observacional y descriptivo. A través de esta metodología, se persigue el propósito de recopilar y analizar información procedente de fuentes bibliográficas especializadas y confiables. En base a la revisión bibliográfica realizada, es posible sostener que la influencia de la innovación tecnológica en la gestión de inventarios de las Micro, Pequeñas y Medianas Empresas ha ejercido un impacto profundo y transformador durante la última década, puesto que, la adopción de recursos digitales ha reformulado completamente la forma en que estas empresas abordan la gestión de sus existencias. Sin embargo, a pesar de estos avances, las MIPYMES se enfrentan a desafíos significativos, tales como la inversión inicial necesaria para implementar tecnologías de gestión de inventarios y la necesidad de capacitar a su personal en el uso efectivo de estas tecnologías.

[EN] The projects to improve the collection and inventory of funds undertaken by the CSIC Tomás Navarro Tomás Library during 2023 have made it possible to identify more than two hundred new prints prior to 1900. They are works from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries that were interspersed in boxes of brochures without description or with imprecise descriptions, and therefore have gone unnoticed in the collections and in the catalogue. The technical processes carried out in 2023 have made possible to describe these items accurately, identify their editions and incorporate the data into CSIC Collective Catalogue and into CCPB, where many of these items have been examples of an edition not described so far in the Catalogue. This communication describes the technical process followed to identify the copies and offers access to the digitized version through the SIMURG portal. It also invites other libraries to undertake similar projects to identify, possibly, new heritage items kept in Spanish libraries., [ES] Los proyectos de mejora de la colección e inventario de fondos emprendidos por la Biblioteca Tomás Navarro Tomás del CSIC durante 2023 han permitido identificar más de dos centenares de nuevos impresos anteriores a 1900. Son obras de los siglos XVII, XVIII y XIX que estaban intercaladas en cajas de folletos sin describir o con descripciones poco precisas y por ello han pasado desapercibidas en los fondos y en el catálogo. Los procesos técnicos llevados a cabo en 2023 han permitido describir estos ejemplares con precisión, identificar sus ediciones e incorporar los datos tanto al Catálogo Colectivo del CSIC como al CCPB, donde muchos de ellos han sido los primeros de una edición no descrita hasta el momento en el Catálogo Colectivo de Patrimonio Bibliográfico Español. Esta comunicación describe el proceso técnico que se ha seguido para identificar los ejemplares, presenta las obras, expone las razones que impedían su correcta identificación y ofrece el acceso a la versión digitalizada a través del portal SIMURG. Con ella se pretende también presentar el procedimiento ya que sus resultados pueden invitar a que otras bibliotecas aborden proyectos semejantes que favorezcan la identificación de nuevos ejemplares patrimoniales custodiados en bibliotecas españolas.

In manufacturing systems, the short shelf life of WIP (Work-in-process), categorized as a fast-moving product, can be a source of potential defects. PT XYZ is a cocoa industry located in Bandung. Manual labeling of product information in the wafer production line at PT XYZ failed to meet secure tracking and tracing requirements, resulting in increased defects due to inaccuracies in monitoring and quality control. To solve this problem, the author used the Gemba Kaizen approach as a tool companies use for continuous improvement achieved through small, low-cost steps. Our main idea is to introduce a new approach that utilizes alternative technologies by developing real-time applications to track WIP movement information in production. This barcode technology uses low-cost technology and has proven effective in helping production supervisors speed up decision-making of WIP management and minimize the risk of process failure in production that causes an increase in the number of defects. The results showed that the real-time system can reduce the number of defects from 2.6% to 1.6%. This can optimize overall inventory management and provide valuable insights for manufacturing companies looking to improve their operational efficiency through low-cost technology and real-time monitoring.

The development of connectivity infrastructure, particularly toll roads, is planned to continue expanding and reach 3,500 km by 2030. This signifies a positive outlook for the construction industry. This research conducted to analyse the management of post tension raw materials and determine the optimal policies using the discrete-event simulation method. Simulation scenarios were developed using the Arena application, taking into consideration the demand patterns for post tension work. The validation test results confirmed the capability of the base case model in accurately representing real-world conditions. Scenario development was carried out to influence the strand inventory pattern by incorporating reorder points and adjusting order sizes. Based on the scenario analysis, the most effective approach was found to be setting a reorder point of 3 tons and an order size of 5 tons. The implementation of this analysis successfully reduced the strand inventory by 58.78%. This research enables companies to optimize their inventory, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency. The findings contribute to the development of strategies that support sustainable growth in connectivity infrastructure in Indonesia.

The Zaragoza’s oxidation lagoons (Cartago, Valle del Cauca) are a residual water treatment system of the Empresas Municipales de Cartago E.S.P with a small fragment of Tropical Dry Forest, on which management strategies have been implemented to improve the quality of the water and the terrestrial environment. In relation to this, a study of the current state of the richness and abundance of non-flying mammals in order to establish a baseline for long-term monitoring. The sampling was carried out during 6 intermittent days in May 2023 using free observation, tracking paths and camera traps. Twenty-five individuals belonging to eight species of the Rodentia, Carnivora and Didelphimorphia orders were identified, three of which are introduced. Although none is in a condition of national or international threat, the record of the jaguarundi (Herpailurus yaguaroundi) is highlighted, taking into account that it is a rare top predator that inhabits low population densities. According to the literature the Armadillo Dasypus novemcinctus has potential as an indicator species of the ecosystem state. For this reason, Armadillo is suggested as a possible monitoring object for long term study., Las lagunas de oxidación de Zaragoza son un sistema de tratamiento de agua residual de las Empresas Municipales de Cartago E.S.P. con un fragmento de Bosque Seco Tropical, donde se han implementado estrategias de manejo para mejorar la calidad del agua y del entorno terrestre. Se realizó un estudio del estado actual de la riqueza y abundancia de mamíferos no voladores para establecer una línea base de monitoreo a largo plazo. El muestreo se realizó durante 6 días intermitentes en mayo de 2023 empleando recorridos libres de observación, rastreo y cámaras trampa. Se registraron 25 individuos pertenecientes a ocho especies de los órdenes Rodentia, Carnivora y Didelphimorphia, de las cuales tres son introducidas. Si bien ninguna está en condición de amenaza nacional o internacional, se resalta el registro del yaguarundí (Herpailurus yagouaroundi) teniendo en cuenta que se trata de un depredador tope, poco común, que habita en bajas densidades poblacionales. De acuerdo con la literatura, el Gurre Dasypus novemcinctus tiene potencial como especie indicadora del estado del ecosistema. Se sugiere esta especie como posible objeto de monitoreo para el estudio a largo plazo.

Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic muscle pain disorder that shares several clinical features with other related rheumatologic disorders. This study investigates the feasibility of using surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) as a fingerprinting approach to diagnose FM and other rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), osteoarthritis (OA), and chronic low back pain (CLBP). Blood samples were obtained on protein saver cards from FM (n = 83), non-FM (n = 54), and healthy (NC, n = 9) subjects. A semi-permeable membrane filtration method was used to obtain low-molecular-weight fraction (LMF) serum of the blood samples. SERS measurement conditions were standardized to enhance the LMF signal. An OPLS-DA algorithm created using the spectral region 750 to 1720 cm−1 enabled the classification of the spectra into their corresponding FM and non-FM classes (Rcv > 0.99) with 100% accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity. The OPLS-DA regression plot indicated that spectral regions associated with amino acids were responsible for discrimination patterns and can be potentially used as spectral biomarkers to differentiate FM and other rheumatic diseases. This exploratory work suggests that the AuNP SERS method in combination with OPLS-DA analysis has great potential for the label-free diagnosis of FM.

In this article, effect of random machine breakdown along with random repair time for a manufacture unit exposed to exponentially decreasing rate due to machine breakdown. Production is taken as directly proportional to demand and greater than demand. The model is proposed for demand as stock dependent and also for fixed demand. The unit is also producing deteriorating items. Comparison of expected lost sale cost has been made by considering demand as stock dependent and then as fixed. Using uniform probability density function expected manufacturing time is estimated. The work is done to compare both the demands and then come to a decision for the manufacture system to optimize the expected overall cost with respect to time, subjected to random machine breakdown. To summarize the model a numerical example is also discussed.

El uso de plantas nativas en espacios verdes urbanos puede traer grandes beneficios para la biodiversidad local y la resiliencia climática. En Colombia, a pesar de su enorme diversidad vegetal, son pocas las especies nativas que se aprovechan ornamentalmente. Gesneriaceae es una familia de plantas reconocida por su alto potencial ornamental y con alta diversidad en Colombia. Este estudio tuvo como propósito realizar un inventario de las especies de Gesneriaceae presentes en la cuenca del río Melcocho, en El Carmen de Viboral, Antioquia, y el desarrollo y aplicación de un método de valoración del potencial ornamental de estas especies. Se encontraron 23 especies distribuidas en 13 géneros, con 9 nuevos registros para el municipio. Se desarrolló un sistema de valoración que usó nueve criterios de calificación basados en atributos paisajísticos tanto morfológicos como ambientales, que contó con el aporte de seis expertos. Ocho de las especies fueron valoradas con un alto potencial ornamental, doce se clasificaron con potencial medio y tres con bajo potencial. Este método se encontró efectivo para la priorización de especies y puede ser adaptado para otros grupos de plantas con hábito versátil., The use of native plants in urban green spaces can be beneficial for local wildlife and climate resilience in cities. Despite its large plant biodiversity, there are few native species used for ornamental purposes in Colombia. Gesneriaceae is a family of plants recognized for its great ornamental potential which is highly diverse in Colombia. This study aimed to build an inventory of the Gesneriad species present in the Melcocho river basin, El Carmen de Viboral, Antioquia, and to develop and apply a method of asessment of these species’ ornamental potential. 23 species, distributed in 13 genera were found, 9 being new records for the locality. An asessment system was developed using nine criteria based in morphologic and environmental ornamental attributes, with input from six experts in the field. Eight species were valued as having a high ornamental potential, twelve were classified as having average potential and three as having a low potential. This method was succesful in prioritizing species for future ornamental and landscaping use and can be adapted to other plant groups with similar versatile habits.

Quantitative hazard analysis of rockfalls is a fundamental tool for sustainable risk management, even more so in places where the preservation of natural heritage and people’s safety must find the right balance. The first step consists in determining the magnitude-frequency relationship, which corresponds to the apparently simple question: how big and how often will a rockfall be detached from anywhere in the cliff? However, there is usually only scarce data on past activity from which to derive a quantitative answer. Methods are proposed to optimize the exploitation of multi-source inventories, introducing sampling extent as a main attribute for the analysis. This work explores the maximum possible synergy between data sources as different as traditional inventories of observed events and current remote sensing techniques. Both information sources may converge, providing complementary results in the magnitude-frequency relationship, taking advantage of each strength that overcomes the correspondent weakness. Results allow characterizing rockfall detachment hazardous conditions and reveal many of the underlying conditioning factors, which are analyzed in this paper. High variability of the hazard over time and space has been found, with strong dependencies on influential external factors. Therefore, it will be necessary to give the appropriate reading to the magnitude-frequency scenarios, depending on the application of risk management tools (e.g., hazard zoning, quantitative risk analysis, or actions that bring us closer to its forecast). The use of IT asset and inventory management information systems can greatly benefit businesses in managing their IT assets. The objective of this study is to develop an information system application that simplifies the management of IT assets by monitoring inventory data, tracking requests for repair, borrowing, purchase, and inventory recording of IT assets. The study was conducted at PT. Transmarco and the development of the information system application involved layout design, diagram design (including an activity diagram), and database design processes. Modular programming languages such as PHP, Sublime Text, MySQL, and CSS were used in the development process. The IT Asset and Inventory Data Monitoring Application provides information on incoming goods data, outgoing goods data, stock goods, and usage history. By implementing this application, it is expected that managing asset data and IT inventory at PT. Transmarco will become much simpler, including managing item data, item history, and stock of goods. This system will enable firm personnel to efficiently manage IT assets according to the desired outcomes. Overall, the development of the IT asset and inventory data monitoring application at PT. Transmarco showcases the potential benefits of IT asset and inventory management information systems for businesses. The streamlining of IT asset management processes can result in improved efficiency, reduced costs, and better decision-making regarding IT asset investments.

The dynamics of remobilized metallic dust are simulated with the MIGRAINe code in low-power ITER discharges meant to emulate reactor start-up environments. The particle size and speed distributions are varied along with plasma profiles to investigate the influence of initial and background parameters on high-Z impurity production by vaporization as well as long-term in-vessel dust inventory evolution over the course of consecutive discharges. Simulation output data regarding beryllium remobilization can be integrated into more global ITER models to guide the operation of dust diagnostics and facilitate the compliance with nuclear safety restrictions, while results on tungsten particles serve as a basis for first assessments of dust dynamics in DEMO., QC 20230109

Biological invasions are one of the main global threats to biodiversity in terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems worldwide, requiring effective inventorying and monitoring programs. Here, we present an updated list of non-indigenous species in French marine and transitional waters. Focused on eukaryote pluricellular species found throughout the three metropolitan French marine regions (Western Mediterranean Sea, Bay of Biscay and the Northern Seas), a total of 342 non-indigenous, including 42 cryptogenic, species are listed as having been introduced since the 13th century. The majority of the species originated from the temperate Northern Pacific. They mainly arrived through both ballast and hull fouling and also are associated with shellfish farming activities. Most of them have been introduced since the 1970s, a time when maritime and aquaculture trade intensified. Despite important human-aided opportunities for species transfer between the three marine regions (for instance, via recreational boating or aquaculture transfers), only a third of these NIS are common to all regions, as expected due to their environmental specificities.

BackgroundResearch centers and programs focused on dissemination and implementation science (DIS) training, mentorship, and capacity building have proliferated in recent years. There has yet to be a comprehensive inventory of DIS capacity building program (CBP) cataloging information about activities, infrastructure, and priorities as well as opportunities for shared resources, collaboration, and growth. The purpose of this systematic review is to provide the first inventory of DIS CBPs and describe their key features and offerings.MethodsWe defined DIS CBPs as organizations or groups with an explicit focus on building practical knowledge and skills to conduct DIS for health promotion. CBPs were included if they had at least one capacity building activity other than educational coursework or training alone. A multi-method strategy was used to identify DIS CBPs. Data about the characteristics of DIS CBPs were abstracted from each program's website. In addition, a survey instrument was developed and fielded to gather in-depth information about the structure, activities, and resources of each CBP.ResultsIn total, 165 DIS CBPs met our inclusion criteria and were included in the final CBP inventory. Of these, 68% are affiliated with a United States (US) institution and 32% are internationally based. There was one CBP identified in a low- and middle-income country (LMIC). Of the US-affiliated CBPs, 55% are embedded within a Clinical and Translational Science Award program. Eighty-seven CBPs (53%) responded to a follow-up survey. Of those who completed a survey, the majority used multiple DIS capacity building activities with the most popular being Training and Education (n=69, 79%) followed by Mentorship (n=58, 67%), provision of DIS Resources and Tools (n=57, 66%), Consultation (n=58, 67%), Professional Networking (n=54, 62%), Technical Assistance (n=46, 52%), and Grant Development Support (n=45, 52%).ConclusionsTo our knowledge, this is the first study to catalog DIS pr

Officially, there is no exhaustive inventory of Sites of Geological Interest (SGI) in Morocco. Nonetheless, the Geological Service of Morocco started identification of these sites a few years ago, and published 9 volumes on the subject as geological and mining guides of Morocco. This was only limited to identification of SGI without their characterization and assessment, or identification of the threats that could affect them. In the last few years several PhD Thesis and research papers have dealed with this subject. Unfortunately, these initiatives are sporadic and far from establishing a global strategy for geoconservation and valorization of the Moroccan geological heritage. This paper proposes a global methodology for the inventory of geoheritage in Morocco by: i) providing a detailed synthesis of the research work on geoheritage in the world; ii) proposing the ways for assessing the Moroccan geoheritage at different scales (scientific education, geotourism, sustainable development, etc.); and iii) applying them to a wide variety of landscapes in Morocco. Desafortunadamente, han sido iniciativas esporádicas que no pueden cumplir el ambicioso reto de establecer una estrategia global de geoconservación y valorización del patrimonio geológico marroquí. En este trabajo se propone una metodología global para inventariar el geopatrimonio marroquí mediante: i) una síntesis detallada de trabajos de investigación llevados a cabo sobre geopatrimonio en el mundo; ii) la propuesta de criterios para evaluar estos resultados a diferentes escalas (educación científica, geoturismo, desarrollo sostenible, etc.); y iii) su aplicación a una gran variedad de paisajes de Marruecos. Los principales resultados y conclusiones obtenidos se pueden aplicar a otras regiones africanas.

Alfa Laval’s business unit Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger uses Sales and Operations Planning to balance supply with demand to ensure profitable growth. Currently, the business unit is experiencing inefficiencies as they fail to execute the plans from Sales and Operations Planning. Large inventories, high obsolescence, material availability, and “firefighting” are some problems mentioned. To support their strategy, the Sales and Operations Planning team wants to understand how they can address these inefficiencies and improve performance. The findings of this thesis were that a lack of knowledge and awareness impacts the business unit to not adhere to plans from the Sales and Operations Planning and that supply chain discontents have led to a large assortment and low inventory turnover. To raise the plan adherence ability in the business unit it is recommended that a knowledge development initiative is driven. Such an initiative should include increasing managerial and process knowledge and spreading general awareness of the process. The inventory turnover rate can be improved by driving modularization and incentivizing an alignment between functions to enable a phase-out of old products and indirectly obsolete inventory., Complexities of executing on plans in a global supply chain Aligning decisions across a company is no easy task. Ensuring that all functions and people are pulling in the same direction is crucial to gain competitive advantage. A small misalignment can trigger an avalanche of problems that puts a company at risk. In our master thesis we have studied how the business unit GPHE at Alfa Laval balances the number of products they can sell with how many they can produce. This process is called Sales and Operations Planning, and it includes that various functions in the company come together to unite on a single plan for how this should be done. For GPHE to improve on this process they should drive product modularization, incentivize people to work towards a common goal, and invest in a knowledge development initiative. We have titled the research “Supply Chain Management: Increasing Performance and Coordination in a Sales & Operations Planning Context”. GPHE are experiencing two problems. Despite them running a well-functioning process, GPHE find themselves with an excessive amount of inventory and people making contradictory decisions to the agreed upon plan. In this thesis we analyze the cause of these problems and what can be done to address them. Aligning people on objectives is crucial to achieve results in any circumstance. In a supply chain context, the dependency between jobs and individual goals of people creates tensions which leads to problems. The ecosystem services of urban trees in Laguna de San Baltazar, Puebla, Mexico, are determined using i-Tree software. For that, the species and the allometric measurements of all the trees with a diameter equal or greater 5 cm were registered. The equivalent economic amount of the main pollutants removed calculated by the program was determined using the registered data and the native parameters associated to its data base. Environmental services rise to $592,200.00 pesos per year, 73% of which are derived from the removal of pollutants. A baseline for this site is established and knowledge of the use of this tool is expanded., Se determinan los servicios ecosistémicos del arbolado urbano en la Laguna de San Baltazar, Puebla, México, mediante el uso del software i-Tree. In the context of inventory management and distribution control, bibliometrics can provide valuable insight into the development and focus of study in a particular field. The purpose of this study is to analyze and summarize scientific literature related to inventory management and distribution control using bibliometric methods. The method used is descriptive analysis using analysis tools such as three-field plots and tables of main information. The results show that scientific literature related to inventory management and distribution control has experienced a decline in annual growth in the period 2018-2023. However, the average citation per document shows that this literature is still very relevant and important in the context of inventory management and distribution control. La publicidad ha sido escuela de grandes cineastas, por eso no sorprende que entre los documentos que ellos donan a las filmotecas figuren algunos de contenido publicitario. Sin embargo, estos no siempre están correctamente identificados y, por ende, su disponibilidad y uso es bastante limitado. En este artículo se describe la cantidad y variedad de esta clase de documentos que se conservan en las filmotecas nacionales; se destaca su importancia como fuentes de información primaria para entender la historia de la publicidad en particular y la del cine en general; y se explican algunas de las dificultades y retos que presenta su análisis documental. Desafíos que estriban no sólo en la cantidad de trabajo por hacer, sino en: 1) la falta de una metodología pertinente que destaque las características propias de los documentos publicitarios y se adecue, al mismo tiempo, a las necesidades de las diferentes filmotecas que los conservan y 2) la carencia de recursos y personal cualificado. Los Angeles is a major hotspot for ozone and particulate matter air pollution in the United States. Ozone and PM2.5 in this region have not improved substantially for the past decade, despite a reduction in vehicular emissions of their precursors, NOx and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This reduction in traditional sources has made the current emission mixture of air pollutant precursors more uncertain. To map and quantify emissions of a wide range of VOCs in this urban area, we performed airborne eddy covariance measurements with wavelet analysis. VOC fluxes measured include tracers for source categories, such as traffic, vegetation, and volatile chemical products (VCPs). Mass fluxes were dominated by oxygenated VOCs, with ethanol contributing ∼29% of the total. In terms of OH reactivity and aerosol formation potential, terpenoids contributed more than half. Observed fluxes were compared with two commonly used emission inventories: the California Air Resources Board inventory and the combination of the Biogenic Emission Inventory System with the Fuel-based Inventory of Vehicle Emissions combined with Volatile Chemical Products (FIVE-VCP). The comparison shows mismatches regarding the amount, spatial distribution, and weekend effects of observed VOC emissions with the inventories. The agreement was best for typical transportation related VOCs, while discrepancies were larger for biogenic and VCP-related VOCs.

In this article, effect of random machine breakdown along with random repair time for a manufacture unit exposed to exponentially decreasing rate due to machine breakdown. Production is taken as directly proportional to demand and greater than demand. The model is proposed for demand as stock dependent and also for fixed demand. The unit is also producing deteriorating items. Comparison of expected lost sale cost has been made by considering demand as stock dependent and then as fixed. Using uniform probability density function expected manufacturing time is estimated. The work is done to compare both the demands and then come to a decision for the manufacture system to optimize the expected overall cost with respect to time, subjected to random machine breakdown. To summarize the model a numerical example is also discussed.

Purpose: The objective was to determine the effect of the LM on the QS in the municipality of Bagua, Peru. Theoretical framework: The existing literature provided new findings on both logistics management and service quality. However, there is still much to research and learn about these variables in the public sector as it is a constantly evolving development. Design/methodology/approach: The methodology was mixed, basic, descriptive-correlational, 08 officials were interviewed, and 52 users were surveyed. Findings: The results revealed that when the LM is inadequate the QS is inadequate seventy percent, but when the LM improves, the QS increases to moderate 78.1%, this means that if the LM complies correctly with each of the operational functions, then an improvement in the QS can be guaranteed. Research, Practical & Social implications: To achieve efficiency in logistics management, all activities that occur along the flow of materials, information, finances and returns from one point to another with a holistic and integrated perspective, must provide internal and external support to the entity, since this allows to improve the administration processes leading to offer a higher quality service to users. Originality/value: It is concluded that the LM and QS maintain a very significant and moderate link, which shows that by continuously improving the LM ensures a QS in all the apartments that the municipality makes available to all its citizens.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate long COVID patients with persistent respiratory symptoms through the application of the World Health Organization (WHO) International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) framework.Patients and methods: This national, prospective, multicenter, cross-sectional study was conducted with 213 patients (118 females, 95 males; median age 56 years; range, 20 to 85 years) with long COVID between February 2022 and November 2022. The ICF data were primarily collected through patient interviews and from the acute medical management records, physical examination findings, rehabilitation outcomes, and laboratory test results. Each parameter was linked to the Component Body Functions (CBF), the Component Body Structures (CBS), the Component Activities and Participation (CAP), the Component Environmental Factors (CEF), and Personal Factors according to the ICF linking rules. Analysis was made of the frequency of the problems encountered at each level of ICF category and by what percentage of the patient sample.Results: In the ICF, 21 categories for CBF, 1 category for CBS, and 18 categories of CAP were reported as a significant problem in a Turkish population of long COVID patients with persistent respiratory symptoms. Furthermore, eight categories for CEF were described as a facilitator, and four as a barrier.Conclusion: These results can be of guidance and provide insight into the identification of health and health-related conditions of long COVID patients with persistent respiratory symptoms beyond the pathophysiological aspects, organ involvement, and damage of COVID-19. The ICF can be used in patients with long COVID to describe the types and magnitude of impairments, restrictions, special needs, and complications.

La gestió d'inventaris és fonamental per a la gestió de la cadena de subministrament ja que pot afectar significativament la rendibilitat de l'empresa. Un dels reptes essencials de la gestió d'inventaris és trobar l'equilibri entre disposar d'existències suficients per a satisfer la demanda dels clients i evitar l'excés d'existències, que pot generar costos innecessaris. Una previsió precisa de la demanda ajuda les empreses a aconseguir aquest equilibri, però la relació entre la precisió de la previsió i l'optimització de l'inventari no es coneix bé. Aquesta tesi explora la relació entre la precisió de la previsió de la demanda i l'optimització de l'inventari. En concret, s'investigarà fins a quin punt pot optimitzar-se l'inventari millorant la precisió de la previsió de la demanda i triant les polítiques i models d'inventari correctes. Per a això, s'utilitzaran models estadístics i simulacions per a crear un bessó digital que modeli amb precisió la previsió de la demanda i els nivells d'inventari. Mitjançant l'ús de bessons digitals, es podran simular diferents escenaris per a determinar l'impacte d'una major precisió de les previsions en els nivells d'inventari. S'utilitzaran diferents indicadors d'inventari per a avaluar l'eficàcia dels diferents models. Els coneixements obtinguts en aquesta tesi seran útils per a les empreses que desitgin optimitzar el seu nivell d'inventari i millorar les seves pràctiques de gestió de la cadena de subministrament. En comprendre la relació entre la precisió de la previsió de la demanda i les estratègies d'inventari, les empreses podran prendre millors decisions de gestió de l'inventari, millorant la rendibilitat. Para ello, se utilizarán modelos estadísticos y simulaciones para crear un gemelo digital que modele con precisión la previsión de la demanda y los niveles de inventario. Mediante el uso de gemelos digitales, se podrá simular diferentes escenarios para determinar el impacto de una mayor precisión de las previsiones en los niveles de inventario. Se utilizarán diferentes indicadores de inventario para evaluar la eficacia de los distintos modelos. Los conocimientos obtenidos en esta tesis serán útiles para las empresas que deseen optimizar su nivel de inventario y mejorar sus prácticas de gestión de la cadena de suministro. Al comprender la relación entre la precisión de la previsión de la demanda y las estrategias de inventario, las empresas podrán tomar mejores decisiones de gestión del inventario, mejorando la rentabilidad. One of the essential challenges of inventory management is to balance between having enough inventory to reach customer demand and avoiding overstocking, which can lead to unnecessary costs. Accurate demand forecasting helps companies achieve this balance, but the relationship between forecasting accuracy and inventory optimization is poorly understood. This thesis explores the relationship between demand forecasting accuracy and inventory optimization. Specifically, it will investigate how much inventory optimization can be achieved by improving demand forecasting accuracy and choosing the correct inventory policies and models. To achieve this, statistical models and simulations will be used to create a digital twin that accurately models demand forecasting and inventory levels. By using digital twins, it will be able to simulate different scenarios to determine the impact of greater forecast accuracy on inventory levels. Different inventory indicators will be used to evaluate the effectiveness of different models. The insights gained from this thesis will be helpful for companies looking to optimize their inventory level and improve their supply chain management practices. By understanding the relationship between demand forecasting accuracy and inventory strategies, companies will be able to make better inventory management decisions, improving profitability. The COST-Action (CA 18137) on Middle Class Mass Housing in Europe (MCMH-EU) has established a transnational scientific network to document the productions of middle-class mass housing built in Europe since the 1950s in order to investigate this specific topic and share knowledge. Considering that middle-class mass housing dominates most of our cities, the research translates into the study of the extensive development of cities in Europe after World War II. The breadth of the theme and the differences between the countries make it difficult to construct a systematic and unified criticism of middle-class mass housing, albeit concentrating on the post­war period. The COST-Action has the goal to build a network to gather research representing the pooled knowledge and experiences from the network of multidisciplinary researchers. So, transversally throughout the Working Groups, an inventory of case studies, a collection of articles, and studies on the policies were produced. This paper elaborates on the collected and produced material and data in order to trigger comparisons and reflections on the approaches and methodologies to face the complexity of middle-class mass housing topic. The comparison was built by using different methods intersecting multiple points of view and following specific thematic tracks that seek to deconstruct the complexity of the middle-class mass housing topic into singular aspects. This paper presents the results of data analyses, visualisation techniques and comparative studies to identify massification processes, morphological structures, demographic and policy developments. It shows a combination of several methods to build a cross-sectional and systematic approach to the diverse knowledge envisioned to develop a methodology for future research. The National Museum of Raqqa in Syria has suffered immensely from the ongoing violence since 2011. Much of its valuable collection of movable archaeological heritage (ca. 6000 items) is considered lost. Starting from 500 of the most precious objects of the museum stored in the Raqqa Central Bank and stolen from there in 2013, the pilot project Focus Raqqa created a concrete, workable database to enable identification by Syrian and international police and heritage institutions. The project made a pivotal first step towards potential reconstruction of the Raqqa Museum in the future. The Raqqa museum collection included cuneiform tablets. Some of the tablets were cast before the war to allow detailed study in Europe. Today the tablets have vanished. The pilot project Scanning for Syria safeguarded information from the lost artefacts by making high-resolution three-dimensional scans of the silicone rubber moulds and subsequently physical replicas of the original objects by 3D printing. The short life expectancy (30 years) of the moulds necessitated measures for long- 3 term preservation. The Scanning for Syria team not only succeeded at the preservation and sharing of knowledge in the academic circle. We study inventory control with volume flexibility: A firm can replenish using period-dependent base capacity at regular sourcing costs and access additional supply at a premium. The optimal replenishment policy is characterized by two period-dependent base-stock levels but determining their values is not trivial, especially for nonstationary and correlated demand. We propose the Lookahead Peak-Shaving policy that anticipates and peak shaves orders from future peak-demand periods to the current period, thereby matching capacity and demand. Peak shaving anticipates future order peaks and partially shifts them forward. This contrasts with conventional smoothing, which recovers the inventory deficit resulting from demand peaks by increasing later orders. Our contribution is threefold. First, we use a novel iterative approach to prove the robust optimality of the Lookahead Peak-Shaving policy. Second, we provide explicit expressions of the period-dependent base-stock levels and analyze the amount of peak shaving. Finally, we demonstrate how our policy outperforms other heuristics in stochastic systems. Most cost savings occur when demand is nonstationary and negatively correlated, and base capacities fluctuate around the mean demand. Our insights apply to several practical settings, including production systems with overtime, sourcing from multiple capacitated suppliers, or transportation planning with a spot market. Applying our model to data from a manufacturer reduces inventory and sourcing costs by 6.7%, compared to the manufacturer's policy without peak shaving.

Biological invasions are one of the main global threats to biodiversity in terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems worldwide, requiring effective inventorying and monitoring programs. Here, we present an updated list of non-indigenous species in French marine and transitional waters. Focused on eukaryote pluricellular species found throughout the three metropolitan French marine regions (Western Mediterranean Sea, Bay of Biscay and the Northern Seas), a total of 342 non-indigenous, including 42 cryptogenic, species are listed as having been introduced since the 13th century. The majority of the species originated from the temperate Northern Pacific. They mainly arrived through both ballast and hull fouling and also are associated with shellfish farming activities. Most of them have been introduced since the 1970s, a time when maritime and aquaculture trade intensified. Despite important human-aided opportunities for species transfer between the three marine regions (for instance, via recreational boating or aquaculture transfers), only a third of these NIS are common to all regions, as expected due to their environmental specificities.

In the case study of PT. Berkahjaya Sentosa Technique, Bibliometrix analysis is used to evaluate the performance of inventory and supply management of companies. The results show that effective inventory and supply management can improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Bibliometrics is an analytical method used to map and analyze scientific literature in a particular field. In the context of inventory management and distribution control, bibliometrics can provide valuable insight into the development and focus of study in a particular field. The purpose of this study is to analyze and summarize scientific literature related to inventory management and distribution control using bibliometric methods. The method used is descriptive analysis using analysis tools such as three-field plots and tables of main information. The results show that scientific literature related to inventory management and distribution control has experienced a decline in annual growth in the period 2018-2023. However, the average citation per document shows that this literature is still very relevant and important in the context of inventory management and distribution control. This research addresses order planning challenges related to perishable products, using bread products as a case study. The problem is how to effi­ci­ently manage the various bread products ordered by diverse customers, which requires distributors to determine the optimal number of products to order from suppliers. This study aims to formulate the problem as a lot-sizing model, considering various factors, including customer demand, in­ven­tory constraints, ordering capacity, return rate, and defect rate, to achieve a near or optimal solution, Therefore determining the optimal order quantity to reduce the total ordering cost becomes a challenge in this study. However, most lot sizing problems are combinatorial and difficult to solve. Thus, this study uses the Genetic Algorithm (GA) as the main method to solve the lot sizing model and determine the optimal number of bread products to order. With GA, experiments have been conducted by combining the values of population, crossover, mutation, and generation parameters to maximize the feasibility value that represents the minimal total cost. The results obtained from the application of GA demonstrate its effectiveness in generating near or optimal solutions while also showing fast computational performance. By utilizing GA, distributors can effectively minimize wastage arising from expired or perishable products while simultaneously meeting customer demand more efficiently. As such, this research makes a significant contri­bution to the development of more effective and intelligent decision-making strategies in the domain of perishable products in bread distribution., Penelitian ini berfokus untuk mengatasi tantangan perencanaan pemesanan yang berkaitan dengan produk yang mudah rusak, dengan menggunakan produk roti sebagai studi kasus. Permasalahan yang dihadapi adalah bagaimana mengelola berbagai produk roti yang dipesan oleh pelanggan yang beragam secara efisien, yang mengharuskan distributor untuk menentukan jumlah produk yang optimal untuk dipesan dari pemasok. Untuk mencapai solusi yang optimal, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasikan masalah tersebut sebagai model lot-sizing, dengan mempertimbangkan berbagai faktor, termasuk permintaan pelanggan, kendala persediaan, kapasitas pemesanan, tingkat pengembalian, dan tingkat cacat. Oleh karena itu, menentukan jumlah pemesanan yang optimal untuk mengurangi total biaya pemesanan menjadi tantangan dalam penelitian ini. Dengan menggunakan GA, distributor dapat secara efektif meminimalkan pemborosan yang timbul akibat produk yang kadaluarsa atau mudah rusak, sekaligus memenuhi permintaan pelanggan dengan lebih efisien. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap pengembangan strategi pengambilan keputusan yang lebih efektif dan cerdas dalam domain produk yang mudah rusak dalam distribusi roti.

nventories provide important information about species, both from a biogeographic perspective and in terms of their conservation status. Among insects, dragonflies are extensively surveyed in Brazil; however, significant knowledge gaps still exist regarding the distribution of these organisms in the country, particularly in threatened biomes such as the Atlantic Forest. In this study, we present data on an Odonata community collected in the Serra do Papagaio State Park between 2015 and 2016. We recorded 64 species, including six new records for the state of Minas Gerais, along with ten species with problematic conservation status, either due to a lack of distribution data or some degree of extinction risk. Our results highlight the importance of inventories in expanding our knowledge of species distribution and providing data that can aid in the assessment of their conservation status.

This paper will analyze the material inventory in one of Indonesia’s aircraft MRO companies by categorizing the material and focus on finding the root causes of the high inventory level. ABC Analysis using multiple criteria will be used to categorize the aircraft spare parts inventory. The categories will then be used as the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) topic to gain and determine several root causes of the phenomena. FGD results will then be further analysed using Interpretative Structural Matrix (ISM) to see if there are some interrelationships between root causes. The high inventory level of aircraft spare parts inventory root causes will be specifically determined by analyzing the A category of ABC Classification as this category represents 70% of the inventory. Based on the analysis, it is recommended to solve the root causes extracted from the ISM first to lower the inventory level. This study will be useful for managers to determine the strategy to make the inventory lower impacting on the increase of company’s profit increase.

Omni-channel retailing allows stores to be used to fulfil online orders. The allocation of online orders to stores can however be complicated, as one needs to take into account the inventory level of each store as well as potential future in-store demand. Current practice is therefore often to use myopic order allocation rules. However, such rules may cause inventory levels to become imbalanced across the retailers network, which might result in (expensive) excessive stocks for some stores while other stores face stock-outs. We therefore study the online fulfilment and replenishment decision of an omni-channel retailer with multiple stores to fulfil the online orders, considering future demand. In contrast to previous literature, we explicitly formulate it as a multi-period problem and formulate and solve it as a periodic Markov Decision Process (MDP). Each period (e.g., week) an ordering decision is made and replenishment happens after a lead time, while online orders are allocated at the end of each sub-period (e.g., day). As the problem easily becomes intractable with multiple stores, we find an approximation of the optimal policy by decomposing the MDP and applying a one-step policy improvement approach. In an extensive numerical study, we compare our policy with two well-known heuristics from the literature and practice. The results indicate that our approach outperforms the heuristics on both profit and service levels. Further analysis shows that our method is better at allocating the online orders to the stores, resulting in more balanced and less fluctuating inventory levels across the retailers network.

This paper studies a retail inventory system for a perishable product, based on a practical setting in Dutch retail. The product has a fixed shelf life of three days upon delivery at the store and product demand has a weekly pattern, which is stationary over the weeks, but varies over the days of the week. Items of varying age occur in stock. However, in retail practice, the age-distribution is often unknown, which complicates order decisions. Depending on the type of product or the size of the supermarket, replenishment cycle lengths may vary. We study a situation where a store is replenished either three or four times a week on pre-specified days. The research aim is to find practical and efficient order policies that can deal with the lack of information about the age distribution of items in stock, considering mixed LIFO and FIFO withdrawal. Reducing potential waste goes along with cost minimization, while the retailer aims at meeting a cycle service level requirement. We present four new heuristics that do not require knowledge of the inventory age-distribution. A heuristic, based on a constant order quantity for each order moment, often generates least waste and lowest costs. However, this requires a few minutes of computation time. A new base stock policy appears second best.

Drawing on the Stackelberg game approach to solving the pricing problem in a supply chain, this paper develops a bi-level model whereby a domestic company and a foreign manufacturer compete to gain more profit from the market of a retailer. The domestic company acts as the leader and the retailer as the follower. The domestic company has two manufacturers each of whom produces and sells a different quality of the product. The retailer decides to purchase products based on the prices offered by the low-quality manufacturer, the high-quality manufacturer, and the foreign manufacturer, known as an exogenous factor. In fact, the first level seeks to maximize its profits and the second level seeks to reduce the cost of purchasing. In this paper, the price of the products of each manufacturer is considered a contributing factor to the retailer's tendency to buy from each manufacturer. This assumption is designed by the multinomial logit model. As the proposed model has binary variables in its follower segment, a novel hybrid exact method based on explicit enumeration method and Lambert-W function is applied to solve it. In other words, to calculate the optimal selling price of domestic products and their profit first by using the explicit enumeration method, the bi-level model is transformed into a single-level problem. The problem is, then, solved precisely by applying the Lambert-W function. The efficiency of the proposed model is proven by the results obtained from solving the model and the sensitivity analysis of the main parameters of the model. Moreover, to have a detailed managerial analysis of each manufacturer's profit on the competitive market environment, the market is studied in view of three different scenarios: (1) when there is a sense of patriotism regarding domestic manufacturers; (2) when customers have low incomes; and (3) when customers have high incomes. Reducing the carbon footprint of global supply chains is a challenge for many companies. Governmental emission regulations are increasingly stringent, and consumers are increasingly environmentally conscious. Companies should therefore integrate carbon emissions in their supply chain decision making. In this paper, we study the inbound supply mode and inventory management decision making for a company that sells an assortment of products. Stochastic demand for each product arrives periodically and unmet demand is backlogged. Each product has two distinct supply modes that differ in terms of their carbon emissions, speed, and costs. The company needs to decide when to ship how much using which supply mode such that total holding, backlog, and procurement costs are minimized while the emissions associated with different supply modes across the assortment remains below a target level. We assume that shipment decisions for each product are governed by a dual-index policy for which we optimize the parameters. We formulate this decision problem as a mixed integer linear program that we solve through Dantzig–Wolfe decomposition. We benchmark our decision model against two state-of-the-art approaches in a large test-bed based on real-life carbon emissions data. Relative to our decision model, the first benchmark lacks the flexibility to dynamically ship products with two supply modes while the second benchmark makes supply mode decisions for each product individually. Our computational experiment shows that our decision model can outperform the first and second benchmark by up to 15 and 40 percent, respectively, for moderate carbon emission reduction targets.

The ecosystem services of urban trees in Laguna de San Baltazar, Puebla, Mexico, are determined using i-Tree software. For that, the species and the allometric measurements of all the trees with a diameter equal or greater 5 cm were registered. The equivalent economic amount of the main pollutants removed calculated by the program was determined using the registered data and the native parameters associated to its data base. Environmental services rise to $592,200.00 pesos per year, 73% of which are derived from the removal of pollutants. A baseline for this site is established and knowledge of the use of this tool is expanded., Se determinan los servicios ecosistémicos del arbolado urbano en la Laguna de San Baltazar, Puebla, México, mediante el uso del software i-Tree. Para ello se registraron las especies y medidas alométricas del total del arbolado con diámetro igual o mayor a 5 cm. El monto económico equivalente a la cantidad de los principales contaminantes removidos calculada por el programa se determinó a partir de los datos registrados y de parámetros nativos asociados a la base de datos del mismo. Los servicios ambientales ascienden a 592 200 pesos mexicanos anuales, 73% deriva de la remoción de contaminantes. Se establece una línea base para el sitio y se amplía el conocimiento relativo a la utilización de esta herramienta.
