Objective: To determine changes in incretins, systemic inflammation, intestinal permeability and microbiome modifications 12 months after metabolic RYGB (mRYGB) in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and their relationship with metabolic improvement. Materials and methods: Prospective single-center non-randomized controlled study, including patients with class II-III obesity and T2D undergoing mRYGB. At baseline and one year after surgery we performed body composition measurements, biochemical analysis, a meal tolerance test (MTT) and lipid test (LT) with determination of the area under the curve (AUC) for insulin, C-peptide, GLP-1, GLP-2, and fasting determinations of succinate, zonulin, IL-6 and study of gut microbiota. Results: Thirteen patients aged 52.6 ± 6.5 years, BMI 39.3 ± 1.4 kg/m2, HbA1c 7.62 ± 1.5% were evaluated. After mRYGB, zonulin decreased and an increase in AUC after MTT was observed for GLP-1 (pre 9371 ± 5973 vs post 15788 ± 8021 pM, P<0.05), GLP-2 (pre 732 ± 182 vs post 1190 ± 447 ng/ml, P<0.001) and C- peptide, as well as after LT. Species belonging to Streptococaceae, Akkermansiacea, Rickenellaceae, Sutterellaceae, Enterobacteriaceae, Oscillospiraceae, Veillonellaceae, Enterobacterales_uc, and Fusobacteriaceae families increased after intervention and correlated positively with AUC of GLP-1 and GLP-2, and negatively with glucose, HbA1c, triglycerides and adiposity markers. Clostridium perfringens and Roseburia sp. 40_7 behaved similarly. In contrast, some species belonging to Lachnospiraceae, Erysipelotricaceae, and Rumnicocaceae families decreased and showed opposite correlations. The reaction of [TaCpRX4] (CpR = ?5-C5Me5, ?5-C5H4SiMe3, ?5-C5HMe4; X = Cl, Br) with SiH3Ph resulted in the formation of the dinuclear hydride tantalum(IV) compounds [(TaCpRX2)2(?-H)2], structurally identified by single-crystal X-ray analyses. These species react with azobenzene to give the mononuclear imide complex [TaCpRX2(NPh)] along with the release of molecular hydrogen. Analogous reactions between the [{Ta(?5-C5Me5)X2}2(?-H)2] derivatives and the cyclic diazo reagent benzo[c]cinnoline afford the biphenyl-bridged (phenylimido)tantalum complexes [{Ta(?5-C5Me5)X2}2(?-NC6H4C6H4N)] along with the release of molecular hydrogen. When the compounds [(TaCpRX2)2(?-H)2] (CpR = ?5-C5H4SiMe3, ?5-C5HMe4; X = Cl, Br) were employed, we were able to trap the side-on-bound diazo derivatives [(TaCpRX)2{?-(?2,?2-NC6H4C6H4N)}] (CpR = ?5-C5H4SiMe3, ?5-C5HMe4; X = Cl, Br) as intermediates in the N=N bond cleavage process. DFT calculations provide insights into the N=N cleavage mechanism, in which the ditantalum(IV) fragment can promote two-electron reductions of the N=N bond at two different metal-metal bond splitting stages. © 2021 The Authors. El proyecto de investigación - Las migraciones atlánticas como agentes de circulación de ideas y prácticas culturales en la primera mitad del siglo XX -, del que nace el presente libro, tiene su origen en la inquietud de un grupo de investigadores de ámbito internacional sobre el estudio de las migraciones contemporáneas. El centro de atención corresponde a las sucesivas oleadas de emigrantes europeos que cruzaron el Océano Atlántico por factores demográficos, falta de oportunidades, persecución política, guerras..., entre finales del siglo XIX y mediados del siglo XX. Migraciones que actuaron como auténticos agentes mediadores protagonistas en la circulación, difusión y transformación de ideas y prácticas colectivas. Este libro analiza dicho proceso atendiendo a las singularidades de individuos y colectivos específicos que contribuyeron con sus ideas, experiencias o acciones a modificar contextos culturales, intelectuales y políticos.
