Flux- and charge-quantization laws for higher gauge fields of Maxwell type -- e.g. the common electromagnetic field (the "A-field") but also the B-, RR-, and C-fields considered in string/M-theory -- specify non-perturbative completions of these fields by encoding their solitonic behaviour and hence by specifying the discrete charges carried by the individual branes (higher-dimensional monopoles or solitons) that source the field fluxes. We prove a sheaf cohomology restriction (SCORE) formula for a class of vector bundles on complete intersections in toric varieties. The formula enables one to compute cohomology products on the complete intersection $X$ via computations on the ambient space $V$ and potentially compute certain quantum corrections to the classical sheaf cohomology ring. Schematically the formula reads $(s_1,...,s_r)_X = (s_1,...,s_r, g)_V$ with $g$ being an explicitly described quantity derived from the monad data of the bundle., Comment: 13 pages, comments welcome!

We discuss twisted cohomology, not just for ordinary cohomology but also for $K$-theory and other exceptional cohomology theories, and discuss several of the applications of these in mathematical physics. Our list of applications is by no means exhaustive, but we are hoping that it is extensive enough to give the reader a feel for the possible applications of twisted theories in many different contexts. We mathematically show an equality between the index of a Dirac operator on a flat continuum torus and the $\eta$ invariant of the Wilson Dirac operator with a negative mass when the lattice spacing is sufficiently small. Unlike the standard approach, our formulation using $K$-theory does not require the Ginsparg-Wilson relation or the modified chiral symmetry on the lattice. We prove that a one-parameter family of continuum massive Dirac operators and the corresponding Wilson Dirac operators belong to the same equivalence class of the $K^1$ group at a finite lattice spacing. Their indices, which are evaluated by the spectral flow or equivalently by the $\eta$ invariant at finite masses, are proved to be equal., Comment: 51 pages, 3 figures

In 2015, Codesido-Grassi-Marino laid the foundation of a connection between local CY 3-folds and the spectra of operators attached to their mirror curves in the context of Topological String Theory. In a 2024 paper with C. Doran and M. Kerr, the author previously deduced two consequences of this conjecture; one relating zeroes of higher normal function to the spectra of operators of genus one curves, the other connecting integral regulators of $K_2$-classes on mirror curves to dilogarithm values at algebraic arguments. Let $X$ be a smooth projective curve over a field of characteristic zero and let $\mathcal D$ be an effective divisor on $X$. We calculate motivic classes of various moduli stacks of parabolic vector bundles with irregular connections on $X$ and of irregular parabolic Higgs bundles on $X$ with poles bounded by $\mathcal D$ and with fully or partially fixed formal normal forms. Along the way, we obtain several results about irregular connections and irregular parabolic Higgs bundles. In particular, we give a criterion for the existence of a connection on a higher level parabolic bundle and also develop homological algebra for irregular connections and irregular parabolic Higgs bundles. We also simplify our previous results in the regular case by re-writing the formulas for motivic classes in terms of the HLV generating function.

While it has become widely appreciated that (higher) gauge theories need, besides their variational phase space data, to be equipped with "flux quantization laws" in generalized differential cohomology, there used to be no general prescription for how to define and construct the resulting flux-quantized phase space stacks. In this short note we observe that all higher Maxwell-type equations have solution spaces given by flux densities on a Cauchy surface subject to a higher Gauss law and no further constraint: The metric duality-constraint is all absorbed into the evolution equation away from the Cauchy surface. Moreover, we observe that the higher Gauss law characterizes the Cauchy data as flat differential forms valued in a characteristic L-infinity-algebra. Using the recent construction of the non-abelian Chern-Dold character map, this implies that compatible flux quantization laws on phase space have classifying spaces whose rational Whitehead L-infinity algebra is this characteristic one. The flux-quantized higher phase space stack of the theory is then simply the corresponding (generally non-abelian) differential cohomology moduli stack on the Cauchy surface. We show how this systematic prescription subsumes existing proposals for flux-quantized phase spaces of vacuum Maxwell theory and of the chiral boson. Moreover, for the case of NS/RR-fields in type II supergravity, the traditional "Hypothesis K" of flux quantization in topological K-theory is naturally implied, without the need, on phase space, for the notorious further duality constraint. Finally, as a genuinely non-abelian example, we consider flux-quantization of the C-field in 11d supergravity/M-theory given by unstable differential 4-Cohomotopy ("Hypothesis H") and emphasize again that, implemented on Cauchy data, this qualifies as the full phase space without the need for a further duality constraint., Comment: 23 pages; v3: published version, with a little more background added to section 3.1; v2: more references added & typos fixed

Topological T-duality is a relationship between pairs (E, P ) over a fixed space X, where E over X is a principal torus bundle and P over E is a twist, such as a gerbe of principal PU(H)-bundle. This is of interest to topologists because of the T-duality transformation: a T-duality relation between pairs (E, P ) and (F, Q ) comes with an isomorphism (with degree shift) between the twisted K-theory of E and the twisted K-theory of F. We formulate topological T-duality in the equivariant setting, following the definition of Bunke, Rumpf, and Schick. We construct a morphism of spectra from $\mathrm{KO}((q))/\mathrm{TMF}$ to $\Sigma^{-20}I_{\mathbb{Z}} \mathrm{TMF}$, which we show to be an equivalence and to implement the Anderson self-duality of $\mathrm{TMF}$. This morphism is then used to define another morphism from $\mathrm{TMF}$ to $\Sigma^{-20}I_{\mathbb{Z}}(\mathrm{MSpin}/\mathrm{MString})$, which induces a differential geometric pairing and captures not only the invariant of Bunke and Naumann but also a finer invariant which detects subtle Anderson dual pairs of elements of $\pi_\bullet\mathrm{TMF}$. Our analysis leads to conjectures concerning certain self-dual vertex operator superalgebras and some specific torsion classes in $\pi_\bullet\mathrm{TMF}$. This paper is written as an article in mathematics, but much of the discussions in it was originally motivated by a study in heterotic string theory. We introduce a Cheeger-Simons type model for the differential extension of Anderson dual to generalized homology theory with physical interpretations. We propose a method for learning topology-preserving data representations (dimensionality reduction). The method aims to provide topological similarity between the data manifold and its latent representation via enforcing the similarity in topological features (clusters, loops, 2D voids, etc.) and their localization. The core of the method is the minimization of the Representation Topology Divergence (RTD) between original high-dimensional data and low-dimensional representation in latent space. RTD minimization provides closeness in topological features with strong theoretical guarantees. We develop a scheme for RTD differentiation and apply it as a loss term for the autoencoder. The proposed method "RTD-AE" better preserves the global structure and topology of the data manifold than state-of-the-art competitors as measured by linear correlation, triplet distance ranking accuracy, and Wasserstein distance between persistence barcodes.

This survey gives an overview of three central algebraic themes related to the study of splines: duality, group actions, and homology. Splines are piecewise polynomial functions of a prescribed order of smoothness on some subdivided domain D in R^k, and appear in applications ranging from approximation theory to geometric modeling to numerical analysis. Alternatively, splines can be interpreted as a collection of polynomials labeling the vertices of a (combinatorial) graph, with adjacent vertex-labels differing by a power of an affine linear form attached to the edge. In most cases of interest, the subdivided domain is essentially dual to the combinatorial graph, and these two characterizations of splines coincide. Properties of splines depend on combinatorics, topology, geometry, and symmetry of a simplicial or polyhedral subdivision of a region D in R^k, and are often quite subtle. We describe how duality, group actions, and homology -- techniques which play a central role in many areas of both pure and applied mathematics -- can be used to illuminate different questions about splines. Our target audience is nonspecialists: we provide a concrete introduction to these methods, and illustrate them with many examples in the context of splines. We also provide a tutorial on computational aspects: all of the objects appearing in this note may be studied using open source computer algebra software., Comment: 44 pages, 13 figures

Persistence modules stratify their underlying parameter space, a quality that make persistence modules amenable to study via invariants of stratified spaces. In this article, we extend a result previously known only for one-parameter persistence modules to grid multi-parameter persistence modules. Namely, we show the $K$-theory of grid multi-parameter persistence modules is additive over strata. This is true for both standard monotone multi-parameter persistence as well as multi-parameter notions of zig-zag persistence. We compare our calculations for the specific group $K_0$ with the recent work of Botnan, Oppermann, and Oudot, highlighting and explaining the differences between our results through an explicit projection map between computed groups., Comment: 11 pages, comments welcome

Inertia orbifolds homotopy-quotiented by rotation of geometric loops play a fundamental role not only in ordinary cyclic cohomology, but more recently in constructions of equivariant Tate-elliptic cohomology and generally of transchromatic characters on generalized cohomology theories. Nevertheless, existing discussion of such cyclified stacks has been relying on ad-hoc component presentations with intransparent and unverified stacky homotopy type. Following our previous formulation of transgression of cohomological charges ("double dimensional reduction"), we explain how cyclification of infinity-stacks is a fundamental and elementary base-change construction over moduli stacks in cohesive higher topos theory (cohesive homotopy type theory). We prove that Ganter/Huan's extended inertia groupoid used to define equivariant quasi-elliptic cohomology is indeed a model for this intrinsically defined cyclification of orbifolds, and we show that cyclification implements transgression in group cohomology in general, and hence in particular the transgression of degree-4 twists of equivariant Tate-elliptic cohomology to degree-3 twists of orbifold K-theory on the cyclified orbifold. As an application, we show that the universal shifted integral 4-class of equivariant 4-Cohomotopy theory on ADE-orbifolds induces the Platonic 4-twist of ADE-equivariant Tate-elliptic cohomology; and we close by explaining how this should relate to elliptic M5-brane genera, under our previously formulated Hypothesis H., Comment: 45 pages

We generalize the Grothendieck construction of the completion group for a monoid (being the starting point of the algebraic $K$-theory) to the polyadic case, when an initial semigroup is $m$-ary and the corresponding final class group $K_{0}$ can be $n$-ary. As opposed to the binary case: 1) there can be different polyadic direct products which can be built from one polyadic semigroup; 2) the final arity $n$ of the class groups can be different from the arity $m$ of initial semigroup; 3) commutative initial $m$-ary semigroups can lead to noncommutative class $n$-ary groups; 4) the identity is not necessary for initial $m$-ary semigroup to obtain the class $n$-ary group, which in its turn can contain no identity at all. We provide a bottom up construction of torsion generators for weighted homology of a weighted complex over a discrete valuation ring $R=\mathbb{F}[[\pi]]$. This is achieved by starting from a basis for classical homology of the $n$-th skeleton for the underlying complex with coefficients in the residue field $\mathbb{F}$ and then lifting it to a basis for the weighted homology with coefficients in the ring $R$. Using the latter, a bijection is established between $n+1$ and $n$ dimensional simplices whose weight ratios provide the exponents of the $\pi$-monomials that generate each torsion summand in the structure theorem of the weighted homology modules over $R$. We present algorithms that subsume the torsion computation by reducing it to normalization over the residue field of $R$, and describe a Python package we implemented that takes advantage of this reduction and performs the computation efficiently., Comment: 16 pages, 2 figures

The extended persistence diagram introduced by Cohen-Steiner, Edelsbrunner, and Harer is an invariant of real-valued continuous functions, which are $\mathbb{F}$-tame in the sense that all open interlevel sets have degree-wise finite-dimensional cohomology with coefficients in a fixed field $\mathbb{F}$. We show that relative interlevel set cohomology (RISC), which is based on the Mayer--Vietoris pyramid by Carlsson, de Silva, and Morozov, categorifies this invariant. More specifically, we define an abelian Frobenius category $\mathrm{pres}(\mathcal{J})$ of presheaves, which are presentable in a certain sense, such that the RISC $h(f)$ of an $\mathbb{F}$-tame function $f \colon X \rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ is an object of $\mathrm{pres}(\mathcal{J})$, and moreover the extended persistence diagram of $f$ uniquely determines - and is determined by - the corresponding element $[h(f)] \in K_0 (\mathrm{pres}(\mathcal{J}))$ in the Grothendieck group $K_0 (\mathrm{pres}(\mathcal{J}))$ of the abelian category $\mathrm{pres}(\mathcal{J})$. As an intermediate step we show that $\mathrm{pres}(\mathcal{J})$ is the abelianization of the (localized) category of complexes of $\mathbb{F}$-linear sheaves on $\mathbb{R}$, which are tame in the sense that sheaf cohomology of any open interval is finite-dimensional in each degree. These lecture notes cover a brief introduction into some of the algebro-geometric techniques used in the construction of BPS algebras. The first section introduces the derived category of coherent sheaves as a useful model of branes in toric Calabi-Yau three-folds. This model allows a rather simple derivation of quiver quantum mechanics describing low-energy dynamics of various brane systems. Vacua of such quantum mechanics can be identified with the critical equivariant cohomology of the moduli space of quiver representations. These are often counted by various crystal configurations. Using correspondences in algebraic geometry, one can construct rich families of affine-Yangian representations. We conclude with an exploration of different algebraic structures naturally appearing in our story. The material was covered in a 4-lecture mini-course within the Second PIMS Summer School on Algebraic Geometry in High-Energy Physics. The text contains some new ideas, examples and remarks that are going to be covered in detail in a joint work with Dylan Butson.

Earlier results show that the N = 1/2 supersymmetric path integral on a closed even dimensional Riemannian spin manifold (X,g) can be constructed in a mathematically rigorous way via Chen differential forms and techniques from non-commutative geometry, if one considers it as a current on the smooth loop space of X. This construction admits a Duistermaat-Heckman localization formula. In this note, fixing a topological spin structure on X, we prove that any smooth family of Riemannian metrics on X canonically induces a Chern-Simons current which fits into a transgression formula for the supersymmetric path integral. In particular, this result entails that the supersymmetric path integral induces a differential topological invariant on X, which essentially stems from the A-hat-genus of X.

We construct models of the differential $KO$-theory and the twisted differential $KO$-theory, by refining Karoubi's $KO$-theory [Kar78] in terms of gradations on Clifford modules. In order for this, we set up the generalized Clifford superconnection formalism which generalizes the Quillen's superconnection formalism [Qui85]. In this thesis we discuss various classical problems in enumerative geometry. We are focused on ideas and methods which can be used explicitly for practical computations. Our approach is based on studying the limits of elliptic stable envelopes with shifted equivariant or Kahler variables from elliptic cohomology to K-theory. We prove that for a variety X we can obtain K-theoretic stable envelopes for the variety X^G of the G-fixed points of X, where G is a cyclic group acting on X preserving the symplectic form. We formalize the notion of symplectic duality, also known as 3-dimensional mirror symmetry. We obtain a factorization theorem about the limit of elliptic stable envelopes to a wall, which generalizes the result of M.Aganagic and A.Okounkov. This approach allows us to extend the action of quantum groups, quantum Weyl groups, R-matrices etc., to actions on the K-theory of the symplectic dual variety. In the case of the Hilbert scheme of points in plane, our results imply the conjectures of E.Gorsky and A.Negut. A time-reversal invariant topological insulator occupying a Euclidean half-space determines a 'Quaternionic' self-adjoint Fredholm family. We show that the discrete spectrum data for such a family is geometrically encoded in a non-trivial 'Real' gerbe. Comparison of data representations is a complex multi-aspect problem that has not enjoyed a complete solution yet. We propose a method for comparing two data representations. We introduce the Representation Topology Divergence (RTD), measuring the dissimilarity in multi-scale topology between two point clouds of equal size with a one-to-one correspondence between points. The data point clouds are allowed to lie in different ambient spaces. The RTD is one of the few TDA-based practical methods applicable to real machine learning datasets. Experiments show that the proposed RTD agrees with the intuitive assessment of data representation similarity and is sensitive to its topological structure. We apply RTD to gain insights on neural networks representations in computer vision and NLP domains for various problems: training dynamics analysis, data distribution shift, transfer learning, ensemble learning, disentanglement assessment.

In this paper we deduce the sketch of proof of the Duistermaat-Heckman formula and investigate how the known Duistermaat-Heckman result could be specialized to the symplectic structure on the orbit space. The theorems of localization in equivariant cohomology not only provide us with beautiful mathematical formulas and stimulate achievements in algorithmic computations, but also promote progress in theoretical and mathematical physics. We present the elliptic genera and the characteristic $q$-series for the circle actions and twisted equivariant K-theory, with the case of the symmetric group of $n$ symbols separately analyzed. We show that the Poincar\'{e} $q$-polynomials admit presentation in terms of the Patterson-Selberg (or the Ruelle-type) spectral functions., Comment: 14 pages

We analyse in detail the language of partially non-abelian Deligne cohomology and of twisted differential K-theory, in order to describe the geometry of type II superstring backgrounds with D-branes. This description will also provide the opportunity to show some mathematical results of independent interest. In particular, we begin classifying the possible gauge theories on a D-brane or on a stack of D-branes using the intrinsic tool of long exact sequences. Afterwards, we recall how to construct two relevant models of differential twisted K-theory, paying particular attention to the dependence on the twisting cocycle within its cohomology class. In this way we will be able to define twisted K-homology and twisted Cheeger-Simons K-characters in the category of simply-connected manifolds, eliminating any unnatural dependence on the cocycle. The ambiguity left for non simply-connected manifolds will naturally correspond to the ambiguity in the gauge theory, following the previous classification. This picture will allow for a complete characterization of D-brane world-volumes, the Wess-Zumino action and topological D-brane charges within the K-theoretical framework, that can be compared step by step to the old cohomological classification. In this paper, we construct for higher twists that arise from cohomotopy classes, the Chern character in higher twisted K-theory, that maps into higher twisted cohomology. We show that it gives rise to an isomorphism between higher twisted K-theory and higher twisted cohomology over the reals. Consider a pair of symplectic varieties dual with respect to 3D-mirror symmetry. The K-theoretic limit of the elliptic duality interface is an equivariant K-theory class of the product. We show that this class provides correspondences in the product mapping the K-theoretic stable envelopes to the K-theoretic stable envelopes. This construction allows us to extend the action of various representation theoretic objects on K(X), such as action of quantum groups, quantum Weyl groups, R-matrices etc., to their action on the K-theory of the variety dual to X. In particular, we relate the wall R-matrices to the R-matrices of the dual variety. As an example, we apply our results to the Hilbert scheme of n points in the complex plane. We explore the Atiyah-Hirzebruch spectral sequence for the $tmf^\bullet[\frac12]$-cohomology of the classifying space $BM_{24}$ of the largest Mathieu group $M_{24}$, twisted by a class $\omega \in H^4(BM_{24};Z[\frac12]) \cong Z_3$. Our exploration includes detailed computations of the $Z_3$-cohomology of $M_{24}$ and of the first few differentials in the AHSS. We are specifically interested in the value of $tmf^\bullet_\omega(BM_{24})[\frac12]$ in cohomological degree $-27$. Our main computational result is that $tmf^{-27}_\omega(BM_{24})[\frac12] = 0$ when $\omega \neq 0$. For comparison, the restriction map $tmf^{-3}_\omega(BM_{24})[\frac12]\to tmf^{-3}(pt)[\frac12] \cong Z_3$ is surjective for one of the two nonzero values of $\omega$. Our motivation comes from Mathieu Moonshine. Assuming a well-studied conjectural relationship between $TMF$ and supersymmetric quantum field theory, there is a canonically-defined $Co_1$-twisted-equivariant lifting $[\bar{V}^{f\natural}]$ of the class $\{24\Delta\} \in TMF^{-24}(pt)$, where $Co_1$ denotes Conway's largest sporadic group. We conjecture that the product $[\bar{V}^{f\natural}] \nu$, where $\nu \in TMF^{-3}(pt)$ is the image of the generator of $tmf^{-3}(pt) \cong Z_{24}$, does not vanish $Co_1$-equivariantly, but that its restriction to $M_{24}$-twisted-equivariant $TMF$ does vanish. This conjecture answers some of the questions in Mathieu Moonshine: it implies the existence of a minimally supersymmetric quantum field theory with $M_{24}$ symmetry, whose twisted-and-twined partition functions have the same mock modularity as in Mathieu Moonshine. Our AHSS calculation establishes this conjecture "perturbatively" at odd primes. An appendix included mostly for entertainment purposes discusses "$\ell$-complexes" and their relation to $\mathrm{SU}(2)$ Verlinde rings. Let $X$ be a smooth projective curve over a field of characteristic zero and let $D$ be a non-empty set of rational points of $X$. We calculate the motivic classes of moduli stacks of semistable parabolic bundles with connections on $(X,D)$ and motivic classes of moduli stacks of semistable parabolic Higgs bundles on $(X,D)$. As a by-product we give a criteria for non-emptiness of these moduli stacks, which can be viewed as a version of the Deligne-Simpson problem.

We consider the global aspects of the 6-dimensional $\mathcal{N}=(1, 0)$ theory arising from the coupling of the vector multiplet to the tensor multiplet. We show that the Yang-Mills field and its dual, when both are abelianized, combine to define a class in twisted cohomology with the twist arising from the class of the $B$-field, in a duality-symmetric manner. We then show that this lifts naturally to a class in twisted (differential) K-theory. Alternatively, viewing the B-field in both $\mathcal{N}=(1,0)$ and $\mathcal{N}=(2,0)$ theories, not as a twist but as an invertible element, leads to a description within untwisted chromatic level two generalized cohomology theories, including forms of elliptic cohomology and Morava K-theory., Comment: 15 pages

Quantum toroidal algebras are obtained from quantum affine algebras by a further affinization, and, like the latter, can be used to construct integrable systems. These algebras also describe the symmetries of instanton partition functions for 5D $\mathcal{N}=1$ supersymmetric quiver gauge theories. We consider here the gauge theories defined on an orbifold $S^1\times\mathbb{C}^2/\mathbb{Z}_p$ where the action of $\mathbb{Z}_p$ is determined by two integer parameters $(\nu_1,\nu_2)$. The corresponding quantum toroidal algebra is introduced as a deformation of the quantum toroidal algebra of $\mathfrak{gl}(p)$. We show that it has the structure of a Hopf algebra, and present two representations, called vertical and horizontal, obtained by deforming respectively the Fock representation and Saito's vertex representations of the quantum toroidal algebra of $\mathfrak{gl}(p)$. We construct the vertex operator intertwining between these two types of representations. We provide a systematic approach to twisting differential KO-theory leading to a construction of the corresponding twisted differential Atiyah-Hirzebruch spectral sequence (AHSS). We relate and contrast the degree two and the degree one twists, whose description involves appropriate local systems. Along the way, we provide a complete and explicit identification of the differentials at the $E_2$ and $E_3$ pages in the topological case, which has been missing in the literature and which is needed for the general case. The corresponding differentials in the refined theory reveal an intricate interplay between topological and geometric data, the former involving the flat part and the latter requiring the construction of the twisted differential Pontrjagin character. We illustrate with examples and applications from geometry, topology and physics. We analyse the problem of assigning sign choices to O-planes in orientifolds of type II string theory. We show that there exists a sequence of invariant $p$-gerbes with $p\geq-1$, which give rise to sign choices and are related by coboundary maps. We prove that the sign choice homomorphisms stabilise with the dimension of the orientifold and we derive topological constraints on the possible sign configurations. Concrete calculations for spherical and toroidal orientifolds are carried out, and in particular we exhibit a four-dimensional orientifold where not every sign choice is geometrically attainable. We elucidate how the $K$-theory groups associated with invariant $p$-gerbes for $p=-1,0,1$ interact with the coboundary maps. Guided by the many-particle quantum theory of interacting systems, we develop a uniform classification scheme for topological phases of disordered gapped free fermions, encompassing all symmetry classes of the Tenfold Way. We apply this scheme to give a mathematically rigorous proof of bulk-boundary correspondence. To that end, we construct real C$^\ast$-algebras harbouring the bulk and boundary data of disordered free-fermion ground states. These we connect by a natural bulk-to-boundary short exact sequence, realising the bulk system as a quotient of the half-space theory modulo boundary contributions. To every ground state, we attach two classes in different pictures of real operator $K$-theory (or $KR$-theory): a bulk class, using Van Daele's picture, along with a boundary class, using Kasparov's Fredholm picture. We then show that the connecting map for the bulk-to-boundary sequence maps these $KR$-theory classes to each other. We provide a systematic approach to describing the Ramond-Ramond (RR) fields as elements in twisted differential K-theory. This builds on a series of constructions by the authors on geometric and computational aspects of twisted differential K-theory, which to a large extent were originally motivated by this problem. In addition to providing a new conceptual framework and a mathematically solid setting, this allows us to uncover interesting and novel effects. Explicitly, we use our recently constructed Atiyah-Hirzebruch spectral sequence (AHSS) for twisted differential K-theory to characterize the RR fields and their quantization, which involves interesting interplay between geometric and topological data. Let $G$ be a connected semisimple Lie group with its maximal compact subgroup $K$ being simply-connected. We show that the twisted equivariant $KK$-theory $KK^{\bullet}_{G}(G/K, \tau_G^G)$ of $G$ has a ring structure induced from the renowned ring structure of the twisted equivariant $K$-theory $K^{\bullet}_{K}(K, \tau_K^K)$ of a maximal compact subgroup $K$. We give a geometric description of representatives in $KK^{\bullet}_{G}(G/K, \tau_G^G)$ in terms of equivalence classes of certain equivariant correspondences and obtain an optimal set of generators of this ring. We also establish various properties of this ring under some additional hypotheses on $G$ and give an application to the quantization of $q$-Hamiltonian $G$-spaces in an appendix.
