- Abstract
In the final years of the 19th century and the first years of the 20th century there were a series of visits by aristocrats and members of Japanese high society to Spain. These Japanese travelers were entertained with receptions, banquets and parties. They met with the Spanish monarchs and members of the Government and fraternized with the Spanish high society of the time. They were singular events, because, at that time, the trips of the Japanese upper class in Spain were almost non-existent. This article analyzes the stay of five Japanese princes in Spanish lands, through the follow-up made by the press of the time, and its significance within the complicated international context of Spain and Japan., En los años finales del siglo XIX y los primeros del siglo XX se produjeron una serie de visitas de aristócratas y miembros de la alta sociedad japonesa a España.
