The article compares the teaching of John Paul II regarding responsible parenthood with the views of high school students on this subject. The teachings of Paul VI and John Paul II on marriage, family, and responsible parenthood are synthetically presented. For the purposes of the publication, survey research was conducted, which shows that the majority of young people do not share the Catholic concept of marriage. Respondents appear to lack trust in natural family planning methods and advocate for the use of contraception, which they consider morally acceptable., W artykule porównano nauczanie Jana Pawła II, dotyczące odpowiedzialnego rodzicielstwa z poglądami na ten temat młodzieży szkół średnich. Syntetycznie przedstawiono nauczanie Pawła VI i Jana Pawła II na temat małżeństwa, rodziny i odpowiedzialnego rodzicielstwa. Na potrzeby publikacji przeprowadzono badania ankietowe, które pokazują, że młodzież w większości nie podziela katolickiej koncepcji małżeństwa. Ankietowani wydają się nie ufać naturalnym metodom planowania rodziny i opowiadają się za stosowaniem antykoncepcji, którą uznają za moralnie dopuszczalną.

Giovanni B. Montini-Pablo VI was a national assistant of the Italian Catholic University Federation between 1925 and 1933. He developed an intense educational work and exposed his pedagogical thought in numerous articles. The objectives of this paper are to expose this educational thought and demonstrate the direct relationship between the training of these university students and the emergence of a generation of committed politicians who joined the Christian Democracy and held important responsibilities after fascism. We analyze his vital, ecclesial, and political context characterized by the turbulent relationship with fascism. We describe his intellectual, cultural, theological, liturgical, spiritual, and social formative design. We study his intellectual, philosophical, and theological influences and the confrontation with the philosophies that dominated the university panorama of the moment. Finally, we consider his pedagogical influence on the young people who raised a new social and political order in Italy after fascism., Giovanni B. The biblical concept shalom is explored as a state of well-being, reconciliation, justice and love, peoples' hope, and God's gift and, then, the promise offered and realized in Jesus as the prince of peace, even in the midst of conflicts, is addressed. Next, the Church mission as a promoter of peace based on Paul VI's speech at the United Nations in 1965 is explored. Other teaching documents and prayer meetings in Assisi show that work for peace is an essential, not subordinate, part of the Church mission. Finally, work for peace is introduced as a path toward a full life in the four dimensions of human life: the smallest social unity (ubuntu), social relations, natural and cosmic integration, and the relation with the ultimate Mystery., Se explora el concepto bíblico shalom como estado de bienestar, reconciliación, justicia y amor, esperanza del pueblo y don de Dios, para luego abordar la promesa ofrecida y realizada en Jesucristo como príncipe de la paz aun en medio de los conflictos. Se explora la misión de la Iglesia como promotora de la paz, a partir del discurso de Pablo VI a la ONU en 1965. En otros documentos magisteriales y en los encuentros de oración en Asís se muestra que el trabajo por la paz es parte integrante y no accesoria de la misión de la Iglesia. Finalmente, se presenta el trabajo por la paz como camino hacia una vida plena en las cuatro dimensiones de la existencia humana: la unidad social más pequeña (ubuntu), las relaciones sociales, la integración natural-cósmica y la relación con el Misterio último.

The purpose of the text is to present a list of controversies that took place at the time of publication of encyclical Humanae Vitae, written by pope Paul VI. First, through presentation of the historical background, the text shows the reasons of diffi - cult reception of papal document. Further, the text presents the backstage of the sheer promulgation of the encyclical by the pope. Next, the objection to the document by the clergy, theologians, and laity is shown, followed by the examples of positive reactions to Humanae Vitae. The author presents also current diffi culties in reception of the message of the encyclical and highlights its lasting relevance., Celem tekstu jest zaprezentowanie szeregu kontrowersji, które miały miejsce z okazji publikacji encykliki Humanae vitae przez Pawła VI. Najpierw, przez ukazanie tła historycznego, zostały przedstawione przyczyny tak trudnej recepcji papieskiego dokumentu. W dalszej części opisano kulisy samego promulgowania encykliki przez papieża. Następnie, ukazano sprzeciw duchowieństwa, teologów i laikatu względem treści dokumentu, a także przytoczono przykłady pozytywnego odbioru Humanae vitae. Autor ukazuje również obecne trudności w przyjęciu orędzia encykliki oraz podkreśla jej niezmienną aktualność.

In the period preceding the Second Vatican Council, several projects were prepared, which for the Council Fathers were to be the basis for the discussions during plenary sessions.  They included fundamental theological and pastoral problems which the Pre-Preparation Commission (Commissio antepreparatoria) considered the most important.  Among the submitted proposals were also projects on moral issues: De ordine morali christiano and De castitate, matrimonio, familia et virginitate.  Although they were well prepared in terms of content, they met with considerable criticism from members of the Theological Commission and some bishops, because in their opinion they did not correspond to the pastoral character of the Council, expected by Pope John XXIII.  These projects were edited many times until it was finally decided that these issues would be addressed in a broader document discussing the relationship of the Church with the world, which eventually took the shape of a Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the modern world Gaudium et Spes. The axis of the entire teaching of this Constitution is the integral vision of the human person, created by God as a rational and free being, redeemed by Christ and called to an eternal community in God.  Years later, Cardinal Karol Wojtyła commenting on the Constitution,  synthesized its teaching, especially in moral matters, in two personalistic categories: “participation” and “solidarity”.  The first refers to the personal relationship of man with God, while the second characterizes the relationships of man toward the world formed by other people and communities in which they live.  Both categories express man's personal commitment as a response to the gift and call contained in God's revelation to man., W okresie poprzedzającym Sobór Watykański II przygotowano kilka projektów, które miały stanowić podstawę dla ojców Soboru do dyskusji na sesjach plenarnych. Obejmowały one fundamentalne problemy teologiczne i duszpasterskie, które Komisja Przygotowawcza (Commissio antepreparatoria) uznała za najważniejsze. Wśród nadesłanych propozycji znalazły się również projekty dotyczące zagadnień moralnych: De ordine morali christiano i De castitate, matrimonio, familia et virginitate. Choć od strony merytorycznej były dobrze przygotowane, spotkały się ze znaczną krytyką ze strony członków Komisji Teologicznej i niektórych biskupów, gdyż – ich zdaniem – nie odpowiadały oczekiwanemu przez papieża Jana XXIII duszpasterskiemu charakterowi soboru. Projekty te były wielokrotnie redagowane, aż ostatecznie zdecydowano, że kwestie te zostaną poruszone w szerszym dokumencie omawiającym relacje Kościoła ze światem, który ostatecznie przybrał kształt Konstytucji duszpasterskiej o Kościele we współczesnym świecie Gaudium et spes. Osią nauczania tej Konstytucji jest integralna wizja osoby ludzkiej, stworzonej przez Boga jako istota rozumna i wolna, odkupiona przez Chrystusa i powołana do wiecznej wspólnoty w Bogu. Po latach kard. Karol Wojtyła, komentując Konstytucję, zsyntetyzował jej nauczanie, zwłaszcza w sprawach moralnych, na dwie kategorie personalistyczne: „uczestnictwo” i „solidarność”. Pierwsza odnosi się do osobistej relacji człowieka z Bogiem, druga dotyczy relacji człowieka ze światem, który tworzą inni ludzie i wspólnoty, w których żyją. Obie kategorie wyrażają osobiste zaangażowanie człowieka jako odpowiedź na dar i wezwanie zawarte w objawieniu się Boga dla człowieka.

Cette contribution retient sept textes (anté-conciliaires et conciliaires) de G.B. Montini-Paul VI et un de Jean XXIII. Elle y étudie d'abord la vision ou orientation pastorale de Montini-Paul VI, ensuite celle de Jean XXIII.Si des différences d'accent existent entre les deux papes, on est aussi frappé par la profonde continuité de leur orientation pastorale de fond: coopérer et dialoguer dans la confiance avec le monde moderne pour que l'Évangile puisse lui être proposé de manière pertinente., This contribution selects seven texts (pre-conciliar and conciliar) of G.B. Montini and one of John XXIII. One studies first the pastoral vision or orientation of Montini-Paul VI, then this one of John XXIII. If differences of stress are real between both popes, what strikes is the deep continuity of their basic pastoral orientation: cooperating and having a confident dialogue with the modern world so that the Gospel may be announced to this one in a relevant way.

In conclusion, this article deals with how his idea of dialogue took concrete shape in the Council constitutions Dei Verbum, Lumen gentium and Gaudium et spes., Todo estudio sobre la figura de Pablo VI resulta de gran actualidad, tanto por su enorme influencia en el papa Francisco, como por el sello que su pontificado ha dejado en la Iglesia del presente. En este artículo se investigará el papel que el diálogo desempeñó en su actuación y en su pensamiento, de manera particular durante el desarrollo del concilio. Presentaremos el ambiente en que creció Montini y los momentos más significativos en su vida, es decir, su formación, su labor diplomática y su misión como arzobispo de Milán. All this conception is born from a vital educational experience that Montini himself lived in his family, in the school, in the youthful oratory and in the Brescian Catholic movement that are the source where his deep concern and extraordinary interest in education was forged., La educación fue una constante preocupación en Pablo VI. Nos centramos aquí en su pensamiento educativo expresado en sus escritos juveniles hasta 1922, en la revista estudiantil La Fionda, en los que trata los principales problemas educativos de su tiempo como son la cuestión escolar y la necesidad de una reforma educativa, el papel revitalizador del estudiante en el periodo de posguerra, la libertad de enseñanza en el contexto de la Italia liberal posterior a la unión, la importancia de una enseñanza religiosa de calidad y la dimensión social de la educación y su apertura a los problemas sociales del tiempo. The FUCI was the official organisation for the laity of Italian Catholic Action for the university sector and exists until the present day.1 As such, it was an important element of the lay Catholic world within Fascist Italy, as well as having a wider presence within Italian society. Thus, the study of the FUCI provides a means of studying the dynamics of Catholicism within Fascist Italy. At the same time, however, the FUCI has a wider significance for the study of Catholic politics and intellectual ideas within Italy, as a remarkably large proportion of the future Christian Democrats who would rule the destinies of the country after the Second World War received much of their intellectual training in the ranks of the federation. 2 Additionally, in the 1925-33 period, the central ecclesiastical assistant of the organisation was Giovanni Battista Montini, the future pope Paul VI., La FUCI era la organización oficial para los laicos de la Acción Católica Italiana para el sector universitario y existe hasta el día de hoy. The author analyzes the multiple perspectives of Christian social thought during the XXth century, highlighting the presence of a varied, rich, and inspiring reflection in its different facets. By the same token, he brings to the forefront the way in which these debates evolved during the period under study and how they connected with pontifical Magisterium. The most important conclusion is finding of the existing tension within Christian social thought, which must be inspired on faith, but at the same time has to develop into a concrete philosophy both for the understanding of social issues and for the necessary dialogue with other lines of thought that deal with the same problems., El autor analiza las múltiples perspectivas del pensamiento social cristiano a lo largo del siglo pasado; destacando la presencia de una reflexión variada, rica, inspiradora e interrogativa en sus distintas facetas.
