This analysis is about the satisfaction of internal Stakeholders (students) in higher education organizations as a fundamental pillar for the orientation of the strategic objectives in higher education organizations, as a case study, it is taken from the Technical University of Cotopaxi of the city of Latacunga in Ecuador. A longitudinal study carried out this year (2020) on Stakeholders' satisfaction was identified as part of the complexity of the Technical University of Cotopaxi to propose its results in its Strategic Institutional Development Plan., Este análisis es sobre la satisfacción de los Stakeholders internos (estudiantes) en organizaciones de educación superior como pilar fundamental para la orientación de los objetivos estratégicos en organizaciones de educación superior, como estudio de caso, se toma a la Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi de la ciudad de Latacunga en Ecuador. This article addresses the crucial importance of teacher training and professional development in the educational context of the Universidad Hispanoamericana in Costa Rica. The article introduces the Teacher Training and Development Program at Universidad Hispanoamericana, aiming to enhance educational quality through innovative and disruptive approaches. Certification areas are detailed, including induction for new teachers, virtual learning environments, assessment and neurolearning, university didactics, brain and well-being, artificial intelligence, and the use of emerging technologies, as well as communication skills and curriculum management. The article concludes by emphasizing the goal of Universidad Hispanoamericana to build a highly skilled learning community, positioning itself as a leading institution in academic excellence and promoting continuous evaluation of its activities aligned with its pedagogical model., Este artículo aborda la importancia crucial de la formación y desarrollo profesional docente en el contexto educativo de la Universidad Hispanoamericana de Costa Rica. Se destaca la relevancia de la educación como un pilar fundamental para mejorar el bienestar social y el crecimiento económico sostenido, así como la necesidad de adaptarse a los avances en ciencia y tecnología. El desarrollo profesional docente se considera esencial para mejorar la calidad de la educación, promover la equidad y reducir las desigualdades formativas. El texto explora la planificación estratégica en la formación docente, destacando la importancia de la educación virtual, la evaluación basada en neuroaprendizaje, la didáctica universitaria y la relación entre el cerebro, el bienestar y la educación. Se presenta el Programa de Formación y Desarrollo Docente de la Universidad Hispanoamericana, que busca potenciar la calidad educativa mediante enfoques innovadores y disruptivos. Se detallan áreas de certificación, como la inducción para docentes nuevos, entornos virtuales de aprendizaje, evaluación y neuroaprendizaje, didáctica universitaria, cerebro y bienestar, inteligencia artificial y uso de tecnologías emergentes, así como habilidades de comunicación y gestión curricular. El artículo concluye resaltando la meta de la Universidad Hispanoamericana de construir una comunidad de aprendizaje altamente capacitada, posicionándose como institución líder en excelencia académica y promoviendo una evaluación constante de sus actividades alineadas con su modelo pedagógico.

Information technologies (ITs) provide optimization, service improvement, and a higher level of competitiveness, adding value to organizations’ strategic results and enabling the implementation of digital transformation initiatives. However, organizations must achieve high alignment between business and IT strategies in order to maximize these contributions. Researchers have proposed various methods to improve alignment and have created measurement instruments to assess it within an organization. One of the most recognized is Luftman’s SAM model (strategic alignment maturity model), which has a scale of five alignment levels and evaluates six dimensions. This work assesses the degree of alignment between business and IT units within a healthcare entity in Villavicencio (Colombia) using the Luftman instrument. The results indicate that the organization has a maturity level of 2, which denotes a low alignment. The organization needs to strengthen its IT unit and increase its participation in strategic planning., Las tecnologías de la información (TI) brindan optimización, mejoras del servicio y un mayor nivel de competitividad, agregando valor a los resultados estratégicos de las organizaciones y posibilitando la implementación de iniciativas de transformación digital. The objective of this research is to propose a strategic planning model for the growth of professional, scientific, and technical services microenterprises in Mexico. A methodology was applied under the quantitative paradigm with a non-experimental cross-correlational research design to a sample of 174 managers. The findings expose nine weakly associated factor loads in relation to what is stated in the literature, showing a configuration of the model that is different from being applied in practice. The main findings of this research is the development of a conceptual model integrated by: philosophy, long, medium, and short-term objectives, policies, strategies, rules, procedures, programs, and budgets, linked by strategic, tactical, and operational control to the companies under study., O objetivo desta pesquisa é propor um modelo de planejamento estratégico para o crescimento das microempresas de serviços profissionais, científicos e técnicos no México. Aplicou-se uma metodologia quantitativa com um desenho de pesquisa do tipo não experimental transversal correlacional a uma amostra de 174 diretores. As descobertas expõem nove cargas fatoriais associadas fracamente com a literatura respectiva, mostrando uma discrepância entre a teoria e a realidade. As principais descobertas desta pesquisa incluem o desenvolvimento de um modelo conceitual integrado por vários componentes, como filosofia, objetivos a longo, médio e curto prazo, políticas, estratégias, regras, procedimentos, programas e orçamentos. Esses componentes estão vinculados por meio de um sistema de controle estratégico, tático e operacional específico para as empresas objeto de estudo. Em geral, o artigo apre-senta uma contribuição ao campo do planejamento estratégico para microempresas no México., El objetivo de esta investigación es proponer un modelo de planeación estratégica para el crecimiento de las microempresas de servicios profesionales, cien-tíficos y técnicos en México. Los hallazgos exponen nueve cargas factoriales asociadas débilmente con la literatura respectiva, mostrando una discrepancia entre la teoría y la realidad. Los principales hallazgos de esta investigación incluyen el desarrollo de un modelo conceptual integrado por varios componentes, como filosofía, objetivos a largo, mediano y corto plazo, políticas, estrategias, reglas, procedimientos, programas y presupuestos. Estos componentes están vinculados mediante un sistema de control estratégico, táctico y operacional específico para las empresas objeto de estudio. En general, el artículo presenta una contribución al campo de la planeación estratégica para microempresas en México.

Strategic planning is important for the business system because of the relationship it has with the determination of objectives. Currently, the definition of accurate objectives continues to be essential for every organization, which requires an adequate diagnosis, using tools that help in this purpose. One of these tools is the SWOT Matrix, but sometimes it is not enough, so it is necessary to use other techniques that help in the diagnosis and verification of findings to face a strategic planning process. The objective of this work is to determine the level of Integration of the management system (NISD) in a tourism construction company, for greater solidity in the strategic diagnosis carried out. For this purpose, theoretical methods of analysis and synthesis, and inductive-deductive, the empirical methods of direct observation, documentary analysis and surveys, interviews, as well as techniques and tools such as the SWOT matrix, group work techniques and internal and external relationship matrices are used. As results, the organization has an internal integration level of 57% and with external entities 74%, within these the most affected with 69% is with the regulatory entities was obtained. From this analysis, the points of coincidence between both techniques are determined and a set of deficiencies not found with the application of SWOT were detected., La planificación estratégica es importante para el sistema empresarial por la relación que guarda con la determinación de los objetivos. En la actualidad la definición de objetivos certeros continúa siendo esencial para toda organización, lo que requiere de un adecuado diagnóstico, utilizándose herramientas que ayuden en este propósito. Una de estas herramientas es la Matriz DAFO, pero en ocasiones no resulta ser suficiente, por lo que se hace necesario el empleo de otras técnicas que ayuden en el diagnóstico y comprobación de hallazgos para enfrentar un proceso de planificación estratégica. El objetivo del presente trabajo es determinar del Nivel de Integración del Sistema de Dirección (NISD) en una empresa de construcción de obras del turismo, para una mayor solidez en el diagnóstico estratégico realizado. Para ello se emplean los métodos teóricos de análisis y síntesis, e inductivo deductivo, los métodos empíricos de observación directa, análisis documental y encuestas, entrevistas, así como técnicas y herramientas como la matriz DAFO, técnicas de trabajo grupal y las matrices de relaciones internas y externas. Como resultados se obtuvo que la organización tiene un nivel de integración interno de 57 % y con las entidades externas un 74 %, dentro de estos el más afectado con un 69 % es con las entidades reguladoras. A partir de este análisis se determinan los puntos de coincidencia entre ambas técnicas y se detectaron un conjunto de deficiencias no encontradas con la aplicación de la DAFO.

Com és ben sabut, la qualitat ocupa un lloc en el nostre entorn diari. Especialment, en l’entorn industrial, com, ara bé, les fàbriques de producció en el sector de l’automoció. Aquestes, són característiques pels alts requisits pel que fa a qualitat així com l’alt volum de producció diari. L’objectiu principal d’aquest treball és proposar una millora de qualitat per tal de reduir costos a una empresa del sector. Per aconseguir-ho, s’ha de primer entendre el concepte de qualitat i donar un petit context al lector de l’estació de treball en qüestió. Un cop donat tot aquest context, s’ha de seguir una metodologia sistemàtica on primer, s’ha de conèixer el producte, per saber que és el que s’està produint, on i en quines condicions. Seguidament, s’ha de fer una anàlisi profunda del problema. Un cop aquí, es podran definir accions de millora i amb elles un estudi de viabilitat econòmica.

Històricament, les empreses, a l’hora de seleccionar els proveïdors i la millor oferta d’entre diversos proveïdors, han valorat principalment la maximització del rendiment o prestacions i la minimització dels costos, deixant de banda o relegant a un segon pla els requeriments de sostenibilitat mediambiental i social. Però la crisi climàtica actual obliga a revisar aquestes prioritats. Per tant, l’objectiu d’aquest treball és examinar i avaluar els criteris que es tenen en compte tant per la selecció de proveïdors com per l’assignació de comandes a proveïdors a l’hora de prendre aquestes decisions, considerant les 3 dimensions de la sostenibilitat: l’econòmica, mediambiental i social. Per tal de fer-ho, es començarà valorant la integració de la sostenibilitat en la funció de compres i s’analitzaran els criteris proposats a la literatura acadèmica per realitzar una selecció de proveïdors i ofertes amb paràmetres de sostenibilitat. Es continuarà amb una proposta de mètode multicriteri que, agafant els criteris anteriorment descrits, permeti avaluar, per una banda, els diversos proveïdors potencials, i per altra banda, les diferents ofertes de cada proveïdor. Finalment, es posarà en pràctica el mètode establert per un cas d’estudi d’una empresa, catalana del sector de l’automoció, present en el mercat internacional. Se seleccionaran els criteris adients a través d’una enquesta a les persones responsables del departament de compres i es compararan les decisions que es varen prendre amb les resultants de l’aplicació del mètode multicriteri establert.

Aquest projecte té com a objectiu assessorar una empresa de begudes làcties i vegetals, Llet S.L, per a millorar la seva rendibilitat en la mesura del possible. Per a fer-ho, el projecte es basa en l’anàlisi exhaustiu de bases de dades oficials sobre tendències i projeccions, així com en una anàlisi matemàtica per a realitzar projeccions pròpies de l’estat financer de l’empresa. El projecte començarà proporcionant context de mercat per a conèixer la evolució històrica de les begudes làcties i vegetals, així com a la seva projecció. Gràcies a aquest estudi, s’han pogut identificar quins productes son més rellevants a nivell empresarial pel seu creixement en valor. A continuació, per a entendre la posició de Llet S.L en el mercat, s’ha realitzat un estudi dels seus competidors. Aquesta anàlisi no només ha estat significativa per a identificar les fortaleses i debilitats dels competidors, sinó que també proporciona informació valuosa pel pla de negocis a de Llet S.L tant com per a agafar inspiració de mesures / productes que estiguin funcionant, així com per veure quines son les debilitats del mercat, i saber on l’empresa hauria d’agafar fortes precaucions, si tingués la intenció de seguir per aquest camí. Un cop avaluat el context de mercat, s’ha realitzat una anàlisi de la situació actual de Llet S.L, a nivell tant operatiu com financer, així com a una projecció per veure quin seria el seu futur si no hi haguessin canvis. La realització d’aquest estudi ha estat per a ensenyar al equip directiu de l’empresa si realment estarien satisfets amb aquesta situació o si veuen la necessitat de canvi, que actualment el equip financer veu. Amb base a aquests resultats obtinguts, s’han realitzat una sèrie de propostes que podrien re posicionar l’empresa en el mercat o, com a mínim, ajudar-la a augmentar la seva rendibilitat, la qual li permetria créixer en el futur

In today's dynamic business landscape, effective strategic planning and the implementation of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategies are crucial for organizations, particularly those operating in the field of environment and resources. This article explores the significant influence of human capital on the strategic planning process and the successful deployment of CRM systems aimed at improving customer relationships within this sector. Drawing upon interdisciplinary research from management, environmental studies, and information technology, this study investigates the intricate relationship between human capital, strategic planning, and CRM implementation. Through a comprehensive review of relevant literature and case studies, the article highlights key considerations for leveraging human capital to optimize strategic planning and CRM implementation, ultimately fostering sustainable customer relationships in environment and resources.

In November of 2022, the Great Salt Lake fell to a new record low water level not seen in all the years since elevation levels were first recorded from when pioneers settled the valley in 1847. As water levels dropped, salinity spiked, threatening an ecosystem that supports over 10 million migratory birds and a brine shrimp industry that helps feed tens of millions of people around the world. According to the Act, the strategic plan must include the following elements: (1) Coordination of efforts related to the Great Salt Lake; (2) A sustainable water supply for the Great Salt Lake, while balancing competing needs; (3) Human health and quality of life; (4) A healthy ecosystem; Economic development; (5) Water conservation, including municipal and industrial uses and agricultural uses;; (6) Water and land use planning; (7) Regional water sharing; and (8) Other provisions that the Commissioner determines would be for the benefit of the Great Salt Lake. This document represents an initial strategy to more effectively protect the Great Salt Lake, while balancing the other ecological, economic, and societal interests surrounding the lake. This is no small task, particularly in light of continued economic growth, sustained drought, and higher temperatures, which threaten to increase demand and shrink available water supplies even further.

Strong policies are needed to accelerate the zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) transition so that it occurs at a pace in line with international climate goals. The purchase price of new vehicles tends to be the variable that most affects consumer decisions. With urgency for a ZEV transition, fiscal pressure for governments can be high as rebates for consumers and incentives supporting manufacturers in the switch to ZEV technologies will be needed for a mass-market transition. Fees on high-polluting vehicles—and rebates on clean ones—have become an effective and increasingly common strategy in European countries. The feebate mechanism can raise the necessary capital for financing a ZEV transition in combination with other regulatory mechanisms. This paper reviews and assesses feebate design types, issues, and implementation strategies in France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. These examples show that feebates can be designed in a variety of ways to meet unique policy objectives and that periodic adjustments are helpful in achieving goals. Among twelve design considerations for an effective feebate, the authors find that: (1) focusing on a single fee parameter, such as CO2 emissions, can be a simple yet effective mechanism; (2) a continuous functional form for the fee and a stepwise rebate are likely to be most effective in driving EV adoption; and (3) pure feebates, where fee revenue funds EV incentives by program design, provide certainty for manufacturers, regulators, and consumers.

The goal of this project was to develop a set of recommended strategic objectives for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) that support safe, reliable, and resilient use of TNs IWS and, at the same time, maximize economic impact, support investment decisions, and foster workforce preservation and development. To achieve this goal, this research developed a knowledge bank on best practices on inland waterway programs, web-based and desktop Data Analytics and Decision Support (DADS) tools that analyze and synthesize the available data on TNs IWS and its assets (e.g., ports, terminals, locks, etc.) into a set of performance stressors, metrics, and indices. The tools, data sources, and recommendations developed as part of this projects will support : 1) In-house analysis of TNs IWS commodity flows through its ports, terminals, and other intermodal facilities, 2) Stressor identification of TNs IWS and its assets, 3) Identification and prioritization of possible investments to accommodate current and projected growth of critical commodities favorable for waterway transport and modal shift (from truck to rail), 4) Support the development of a waterway program in TN and leverage federal funding opportunities, and 5) Identify and foster partnership opportunities.

This paper provides further understanding of how social sustainability functions as a discursive boundary object, by exploring how it is artefactually anchored during the planning process, and how this anchoring affects the discourse of social sustainability. This is explored in a Swedish strategic planning project – the RiverCity in Gothenburg – where social sustainability is the desired policy objective. This paper traces how the discourse of social sustainability shifted during the planning process (2012–2019) and shows how social sustainability contains two levels of meaning, substantives aspects of what a socially sustainable city is and procedural of how to achieve it. The substantive level functions as a boundary object between policy areas, however, the procedural level leads to goal conflicts when it is translated and artefactually anchored by different municipal departments. The findings show how the conflicts between different translations of social sustainability change the discourse over time without changing the phrasing of the first level of meaning. This finding shows that 1) while the core idea persists different translations lead to different artefactual anchoring, 2) which shows a mismatch between long-term socioeconomic goals and short-term financial goals for social sustainability, and 3) risks the concept being hijacked., CC BY 4.0

This study’s objective was to determine if access management treatments in Louisiana have an economic impact on roadside businesses. The specific access management treatments observed in this study are J-turns, right-in-right-out entrances, raised medians, raised curb channelization systems, and center turn lanes. The research focused on business sales and the perceptions of both businesses and customers towards access management treatments before, during, and after their construction. The findings from this study can inform communication strategies and outreach efforts directed at the general public and stakeholders to better address concerns regarding the economic effect of access management construction projects on nearby businesses.

This study stems from the contemporary necessity to establish a connection between heritage and citizens, a fundamental element in heritage preservation and the safeguarding of authenticity and identity values. The study bridges the gap between theory and practice by proposing a methodology based on diagnosis and subsequent proposals to bring heritage closer to the local population. The case study used for this purpose has been the city of Seville, Spain, and it primarily focuses on built heritage and the Historic Urban Landscape. The methodology outlined in this article comprises three phases: (1) Survey and Data Collection, involving the design and implementation of a perception-focused survey; (2) Results Analysis and Evaluation, where the obtained data is statistically analysed, subsequently evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively with a proposed a KPI system; (3) Strategic Planning: finally, as a final outcome, the study utilizes the previous evaluation to formulate objectives and an action plan to enhance the local community's heritage relationship. It is expected that the proposed methodology for this case study will be applicable to other similar contexts.

Climate change is progressing rapidly, largely due to human activities, and has resulted in an increase in the Earth's average temperature by over one degree since the 19th century. Sweden has also been affected, experiencing approximately double the temperature rise compared to the global average. In response to climate change, Swedish strategic planning has increasingly focused on the concept of the sustainable and smart city (den klimatsmarta staden). This concept is relatively new and, particularly in a Swedish context, has scarcely been addressed in academic literature or subjected to critical scrutiny. Swedish strategic planning is closely linked to and shaped by the issue of sustainability, as the fundamental provisions of the Swedish Planning and Building Act support the ecological, social, and economic dimensions of sustainable development. However, due to the relatively unexplored and unclear nature of the concept of the sustainable and smart city, it is uncertain how it expresses economic, social, and ecological sustainability. Themes such as climate change, humanity's relationship with nature, and the various interpretations of sustainability have been discussed and critically examined within the framework of ecofeminism. Ecofeminism posits a strong connection between the subordination of both women and nature by men, where the feminist aspect of ecofeminism critiques power structures through intersectional gender analyses, and the environmental aspect focuses on understanding the non-human world and human-nature interactions. Through a case study of strategic planning in The City of Stockholm, this study critically examines how sustainability is (and is not) expressed through the concept of the sustainable and smart city using ecofeminist analytical tools. The study finds that the manner in which sustainability is articulated through the concept of the sustainable and smart city in metropolitan strategic planning partially aligns with an ecofeminist per, Klimatförändringarna pågår i snabb takt och till stor del på grund av mänskliga aktiviteter har jordens medeltemperatur ökat med drygt en grad sedan 1800-talet. Även Sverige är påverkat och har haft ungefär en dubbelt så stor temperaturhöjning än vad som skett globalt. Konceptet den klimatsmarta staden är relativt nytt och har, särskilt i en svensk kontext, knappt behandlats i den akademiska litteraturen eller utsatts för kritisk granskning. Den svenska strategiska planeringen är tydligt kopplad till och präglad av frågan om hållbarhet, bland annat genom att plan- och bygglagens grundläggande bestämmelser stöttar de ekologiska, sociala och ekonomiska dimensionerna i konceptet hållbar utveckling. På grund av konceptet den klimatsmarta stadens outforskade och förhållandevis oklara innebörd är det dock ovisst hur konceptet ger uttryck för ekonomisk, social och ekologisk hållbarhet. Klimatförändringarna, människans förhållningssätt till naturen samt hur olika uppfattningar om hållbarhet kommer till uttryck och förhåller sig till varandra är alla exempel på teman som diskuterats och kritiskt granskats inom den så kallade ekofeminismen. Ekofeminismen menar att det finns ett starkt samband mellan mäns underordnande av både kvinnor och natur, där den feministiska delen av ekofeminismen kritiserar maktstrukturer genom intersektionella genusanalyser och den miljöinriktade delen sätter förståelsen av den icke-mänskliga världen och interaktioner mellan människa och natur i centrum. Infrastructure owners face challenges in effective maintenance decision-making due to the process's multidisciplinary nature, spanning mathematics to cognitive science. This study delves into enhancing maintenance for complex infrastructure systems, specifically in scenarios where a single primary owner must consider the preferences and requisites of multiple stakeholders. In such unstructured problems characterised by diverse perspectives and potentially conflicting interests in uncertain environments, systematic decision analysis is paramount. In response, this paper proposes a generic conceptual model to outline the primary critical consideration of decision-making through a holistic scheme of the decision problem; it facilitates discovering shared views when defining the decision problem, eliciting objectives early in the decision-making process, and ensuring that selected agendas align with desired outcomes and core values. It provides valuable guidance for decision-modellers in infrastructure rehabilitation. Spatial planning instruments are fundamental for the operation of spatial planning systems. In the ESPON COMPASS project over 250 spatial planning instruments at different policy levels in 32 European countries were identified. In this chapter we compare and review these planning instruments that are used to mediate competition over the use of land, to allocate rights of development, to regulate change and to promote preferred spatial and urban form. The comparative analysis highlights that there are various types of spatial planning instruments at different policy levels many of which have multiple characteristics, that is, they are expected to have multiple functions in relation to spatial development and territorial governance practices. However, there is a significant consistency in how planning systems are hierarchically structured around spatial planning instruments and how these systems are based on rational ideals. Furthermore, the results indicates that there is a clear direction towards more strategic forms of spatial planning, also among statuary planning instruments. In conclusion, our survey reveals that spatial planning instruments are expected to serve as multi-purpose tools that simultaneously provide strategic frameworks and regulate spatial development whilst they have become less visionary.

The Predicting Mass Casualty Events from 911 Data workshop was conducted Nov 7-9 at the San Diego Supercomputer Center on the UCSD campus. It focused on utilizing Next Generation 911 (NG911) data for early detection and response to mass casualty events, particularly in schools. The workshop brought together diverse stakeholders from academia, industry, government, and non-profits. Workshop discussions revolved around technological advancements in NG911, effective school safety measures, artificial intelligence approaches for advanced emergency notification, and the application of 911 call data to other critical infrastructures. Workshop participants outlined a broad research and development agenda for advancing and refining emergency response, particularly reducing latency and improving situational awareness among responders. The workshop laid the groundwork for developing a prototype early alert system, which could be deployed in multiple jurisdictions to ensure a more efficient and timely emergency response.

The purpose of this case study was to understand how collaboration, or lack of collaboration between community college-level silos, affected the process of accreditation as conducted by the Higher Learning Commission. The theory that guided this study is Smith’s theory of seven silos of higher education, as it explains the relationships between the areas of assessment, strategic planning, institutional effectiveness, and their impact on accreditation. This study sought to discover how collaboration and communication between administration, faculty, and staff, as well as between the silos of assessment, strategic planning, and institutional effectiveness, affected accreditation efforts at Moses Community College. The site was one community college in Kansas that had findings during its last Higher Learning Commission visit. The sample included the administrative team, assessment team, site steering committee, and others involved in the institution's assessment, strategic planning, and accreditation. Data were collected using interviews, document analysis, and focus groups. All interviews and focus groups were transcribed and provided to the participants for member checking. Data were analyzed holistically using Qualitative Data Analysis Software (QDAS).

I februari 2024 skickades ett öppet brev till FN (Förenta nationerna) och världens regeringar inför det kommande globala evenemanget "Summit of the Future –Multilateral Solutions for a better tomorrow", som hålls av FN generalförsamling den 22–23 september 2024. I brevet betonas FN kunskapsbas som en immateriell tillgång för FN och som kan användas för att uppnå de hållbara utvecklingsmålen och Agenda 2030. Brevet betonar att FN:s arbetet bör baseras och förankras i olika typer av kunskap (KM4Dev m.fl. 2024). Samtidigt investeras betydande resurser i interventioner ochprogram för att minska fattigdomen (Miković m.fl., 2020). I ljuset av detta syftar uppsatsen till att skapa en ökad förståelse om hur tre olika FN organisationer arbetar strategiskt med kunskap som en organisatorisk resurs och tillgång. Undersökningen baseras på en innehållsanalys av UNDP, UNICEF och WFP styrdokument för kunskapshantering. Dokumentens innehåll analyseras och kodas utifrån begreppen kunskap (Polanyi, 1958) och organisatoriskt lärande (Argyris, 1977; Senge 1990) samt SECI-modellen (socialisering, externalisering, kombinering och internalisering) (Nonaka & Takeuchi 1995). Analysen av empirin visar att strategierna har olika visioner och mål. Begreppen kunskap, kunskapshantering och organisatoriskt lärande diskuteras, definieras och appliceras olika av organisationerna. Vid kodning av dokumentens handlingsplaner visar analysen att organisationerna väljer olikatill vägagångssätt att operationalisera strategierna. Studien drar följande slutsats UNDP, UNICEF och WFP har olika målbild för arbete med kunskapshantering. Det råder även olika förståelse mellan de undersökta FN organisationerna vad praktiskt arbete med kunskapshantering innebär. Organisationerna använder samma termer men fyller dem med olika innehåll. Detta kan skapa oreda i ett interorganisatoriskt samarbetet. Concurrently, substantial resources are be inginvested in initiatives and programs aimed at poverty reduction (Miković et al., 2020). In this context, the thesis aims to provide a deeper understanding of how three different UN organizations strategically manage knowledge as an organizational resource and asset. The study is based on a content analysis of the knowledge management strategies of UNDP, UNICEF, and WFP. The content of the documents is analyzed and coded based on the concepts of knowledge (Polanyi, 1958) and organizational learning (Argyris, 1977; Senge, 1990), as well as the SECI model (socialization, externalization, combination, and internalization) (Nonaka & Takeuchi, 1995). The analysis of the empirical data indicates that these strategies have distinct visions and goals. The concepts of knowledge, knowledge management, and organizational learning are discussed, defined, and applied differently across these organizations. When coding the action plans of the documents, the analysis reveals that the organizations adopt diverse approaches to operationalize their strategies. The study concludes that UNDP, UNICEF, and WFP have different objectives for knowledge management, and there is a varying understanding among these UN organizations regarding the practicalities of knowledge management work. Den strategiska samhällsplaneringen tenderar idag att vara i enlighet med stadsidealet kompakt stad som anses utgöra hållbar stadsutveckling. Frågan som ställts i denna studie är främst vilka utmaningar som finns med utvecklandet av den kompakta staden i relation till klimatanpassning av den urbana miljön. Både hanterande och förebyggande åtgärder har kunnat identifierats och även ett antal olika målkonflikter. Klimatanpassning av den urbana miljön genom användning av grönytor kan komma i konflikt med andra viktiga samhällsintressen såsom bostadsbrist. Studien har vidare visat att markägande har betydelse för implementeringen av klimatanpassningsverktyg i Göteborg och att det ofta krävs innovativa lösningar för att integrera dessa verktyg i en kompakt stad., The strategic planning today tends to be in accordance with the ideal of compact city which is considered representing sustainable development of cities. This study has analyzed the challenges with the development of the compact city in relation to climate adaptation of the urban milieu. Both managing and preventive measures has been identified and other conflict concerning this. Climate adaption of the urban milieu using green space can come in to conflict with other important interest of society like housing shortage. The study has further shown that ownership has significance in implementing tools for climate adaption in Gothenburg and that it often requires innovative solutions to be able to integrate these tools in a compact city.

Our planet is facing a socio-ecological crisis in which we are failing to meet the basic needs of the people in our society whilst living within the planetary boundaries. This has brought about the need to reassess the general approach to economic policy and thus the emergence of an alternative perspective, namely Doughnut economics. The Doughnut provides a framework consisting of a social foundation of well-being and an ecological ceiling of planetary boundaries, between which is a safe and just space for all. This framework has been applied in urban planning worldwide since its emergence in 2017 but still lacks practical implementation. This thesis sheds light on an urban development project in the municipality of Tomelilla in Sweden with the intention of implementing the Doughnut. Through a case study, the first phase of the project which constitutes a Masterplan is reviewed. This study consists of a document analysis as well as several interviews. The thesis shows that the application of the Doughnut in the Masterplan encounters several difficulties. The encounter between the Doughnut and practical reality has been identified as one of the fundamental challenges. This challenge is rooted in a more radical move into the Doughnut which faces constraints in regulations and laws as well as the receptivity of society and the construction industry. In addition, the model lacks guidelines to guide trade-offs between social and ecological aspects. As a result of these challenges, it is concluded that the masterplan cannot be implemented within the framework of the Doughnut model. It is however observed that the model should be seen as a tool for approaching the Doughnut as well as for promoting sustainability, rather than seeing the Doughnut as an end state. The visual strength and apparent simplicity of the model has been highlighted as a contributing factor to the model's ability to constitute a tool for communication with the capacity to promote discussion, dialog, Vår planet står inför en socioekologisk kris inom vilken vi misslyckas med att tillgodose människors basala rättigheter och behov. Denna uppsats behandlar ett stadsutvecklingsprojekt i Tomelilla kommun i Sverige med avsikt att implementera munkmodellen. Genom en fallstudie granskas den första fasen av projektet, vilken utgörs av en masterplan. Denna fallstudie består av en dokumentanalys samt ett flertal intervjuer. Uppsatsen vittnar om att tillämpningen av munkmodellen i masterplanen möter flera svårigheter. Munkmodellens möte med den praktiska verkligheten har identifierats som en av de grundläggande utmaningarna. Detta då en mer radikal förflyttning in i munken möter begränsningar i såväl regleringar och lagar som mottagligheten i samhället och byggbranschen. Dessutom saknar modellen riktlinjer för att vägleda avvägningar mellan sociala- och ekologiska aspekter. Som ett resultat av dessa utmaningar konstateras att masterplanen inte kan genomföras inom munkmodellens ramar.​​ Däremot konstateras att modellen bör ses som ett verktyg för att närma sig munken och främja hållbarhetsarbete, snarare än att se munken som ett slutgiltigt tillstånd. Climate change is progressing rapidly, largely due to human activities, and has resulted in an increase in the Earth's average temperature by over one degree since the 19th century. Sweden has also been affected, experiencing approximately double the temperature rise compared to the global average. In response to climate change, Swedish strategic planning has increasingly focused on the concept of the sustainable and smart city (den klimatsmarta staden). This concept is relatively new and, particularly in a Swedish context, has scarcely been addressed in academic literature or subjected to critical scrutiny. Swedish strategic planning is closely linked to and shaped by the issue of sustainability, as the fundamental provisions of the Swedish Planning and Building Act support the ecological, social, and economic dimensions of sustainable development. However, due to the relatively unexplored and unclear nature of the concept of the sustainable and smart city, it is uncertain how it expresses economic, social, and ecological sustainability. Themes such as climate change, humanity's relationship with nature, and the various interpretations of sustainability have been discussed and critically examined within the framework of ecofeminism. Ecofeminism posits a strong connection between the subordination of both women and nature by men, where the feminist aspect of ecofeminism critiques power structures through intersectional gender analyses, and the environmental aspect focuses on understanding the non-human world and human-nature interactions. Through a case study of strategic planning in The City of Stockholm, this study critically examines how sustainability is (and is not) expressed through the concept of the sustainable and smart city using ecofeminist analytical tools. The study finds that the manner in which sustainability is articulated through the concept of the sustainable and smart city in metropolitan strategic planning partially aligns with an ecofeminist per, Klimatförändringarna pågår i snabb takt och till stor del på grund av mänskliga aktiviteter har jordens medeltemperatur ökat med drygt en grad sedan 1800-talet. Den svenska strategiska planeringen är tydligt kopplad till och präglad av frågan om hållbarhet, bland annat genom att plan- och bygglagens grundläggande bestämmelser stöttar de ekologiska, sociala och ekonomiska dimensionerna i konceptet hållbar utveckling. På grund av konceptet den klimatsmarta stadens outforskade och förhållandevis oklara innebörd är det dock ovisst hur konceptet ger uttryck för ekonomisk, social och ekologisk hållbarhet. Klimatförändringarna, människans förhållningssätt till naturen samt hur olika uppfattningar om hållbarhet kommer till uttryck och förhåller sig till varandra är alla exempel på teman som diskuterats och kritiskt granskats inom den så kallade ekofeminismen. This study examined the influence of strategic planning and crisis management styles in business organizations. The approach adopted is theoretical-transversal because it was evaluated based on existing literature. The result of the findings revealed that strategic direction and planning has improved crisis management. Also, any crisis management style applied in a catastrophe or pandemic will determine whether the destruction will be a minor or major disaster. Lastly, the organization that employs a strategic approach to crisis management style will be proactive in crisis management. For any organization to go through the crisis with minimum loss it must incorporate a strategic approach to crisis management and also establish a strategic crisis management team that can handle the same in the shortest possible time. Para que cualquier organización pueda atravesar la crisis con una pérdida mínima debe incorporar un enfoque estratégico para la gestión de crisis y también establecer un equipo estratégico de gestión de crisis que pueda encargarse de la misma en el menor tiempo posible. Finalmente, los empleados deben ser entrenados y retenidos sobre el efecto positivo y negativo de la crisis; no obstante, deben ser sensibilizados sobre cómo adaptarse a las circunstancias cambiantes que pueden ocurrir antes, durante y después de la crisis.

This study aims to identify key themes, challenges, and recommendations related to AI implementation in higher education and leadership. A literature review was supported by 2 LLMs. The results show that AI is being used to personalize teaching, provide formative feedback, identify at-risk students, accelerate research discovery, streamline administrative processes through chatbots, and optimize resource utilization. However, the findings also highlight significant technical, ethical, cultural and resource challenges that institutions must overcome in order to successfully harness AI's enormous potential while mitigating risks. Empowering management through knowledge, funding, and support structures that promote good governance and responsible AI adoption is fundamental to successfully harnessing the enormous but still largely untapped potential of AI.

Our planet is facing a socio-ecological crisis in which we are failing to meet the basic needs of the people in our society whilst living within the planetary boundaries. This has brought about the need to reassess the general approach to economic policy and thus the emergence of an alternative perspective, namely Doughnut economics. The Doughnut provides a framework consisting of a social foundation of well-being and an ecological ceiling of planetary boundaries, between which is a safe and just space for all. This framework has been applied in urban planning worldwide since its emergence in 2017 but still lacks practical implementation. This thesis sheds light on an urban development project in the municipality of Tomelilla in Sweden with the intention of implementing the Doughnut. Through a case study, the first phase of the project which constitutes a Masterplan is reviewed. This study consists of a document analysis as well as several interviews. The thesis shows that the application of the Doughnut in the Masterplan encounters several difficulties. The encounter between the Doughnut and practical reality has been identified as one of the fundamental challenges. This challenge is rooted in a more radical move into the Doughnut which faces constraints in regulations and laws as well as the receptivity of society and the construction industry. In addition, the model lacks guidelines to guide trade-offs between social and ecological aspects. As a result of these challenges, it is concluded that the masterplan cannot be implemented within the framework of the Doughnut model. It is however observed that the model should be seen as a tool for approaching the Doughnut as well as for promoting sustainability, rather than seeing the Doughnut as an end state. The visual strength and apparent simplicity of the model has been highlighted as a contributing factor to the model's ability to constitute a tool for communication with the capacity to promote discussion, dialog, Vår planet står inför en socioekologisk kris inom vilken vi misslyckas med att tillgodose människors basala rättigheter och behov. Detta har lett till ett behov av att omvärdera det allmänna synsättet på ekonomisk politik och därmed framväxten av ett alternativt perspektiv, nämligen munkmodellen. Munkmodellen utgör ett ramverk bestående av en social grund av välbefinnande och ett ekologiskt tak av planetära gränser, mellan dessa återfinns ett säkert och rättvist utrymme för alla. Detta ramverk har tillämpats inom stadsplanering över hela världen sedan dess uppkomst år 2017, men präglas fortfarande av en bristande praktisk implementering. Denna uppsats behandlar ett stadsutvecklingsprojekt i Tomelilla kommun i Sverige med avsikt att implementera munkmodellen. Genom en fallstudie granskas den första fasen av projektet, vilken utgörs av en masterplan. Denna fallstudie består av en dokumentanalys samt ett flertal intervjuer. Uppsatsen vittnar om att tillämpningen av munkmodellen i masterplanen möter flera svårigheter. Munkmodellens möte med den praktiska verkligheten har identifierats som en av de grundläggande utmaningarna. Detta då en mer radikal förflyttning in i munken möter begränsningar i såväl regleringar och lagar som mottagligheten i samhället och byggbranschen. Dessutom saknar modellen riktlinjer för att vägleda avvägningar mellan sociala- och ekologiska aspekter. Som ett resultat av dessa utmaningar konstateras att masterplanen inte kan genomföras inom munkmodellens ramar.​​ Däremot konstateras att modellen bör ses som ett verktyg för att närma sig munken och främja hållbarhetsarbete, snarare än att se munken som ett slutgiltigt tillstånd.
