This research is 1) a critical conceptual analysis of the existing theoretical framework of desacralisation of conflicts developed by professor Isak Svensson in relation to mediation practice in religious conflicts with explicit religious claims; and 2) a critical argumentation for the development of an alternative and complementary initial attempt of mediation methodology suggested by myself: sacralisation of peace. This methodology is based on aspects of the worldview conflicts theoretical framework of professor Jayne Seminare Docherty, the ritual theory for peacebuilding as proposed by professor Lisa Schirch, and a plural conceptual notion of peace. The research concludes that the desacralisation of conflicts theory has four conceptual limitations when used as a mediation practice in religious conflicts. These limitations are related with 1) conceptual assumptions of secularisation project; 2) “issue-negotiation” processes proposed by the theory and their rational model for conflict resolution; 3) a reduced notion of religious issues to ideological or convictional aspects, and 4) a reduced notion of the ambivalence of the sacred and its associated processes of sacralisation and desacralisation. The research also concludes that these limitations could be overcome by introducing a complementary complex mediation methodological approach where sacralisation of peace and desacralisation of conflicts coexist.

En nuestra investigación partimos del episodio «La resurrezione di Lazzaro», de Dario Fo, para analizar el llamado proceso de desacralización, es decir, la utilización del discurso cómico por parte de la cultura popular para contraponerse a la cultura dominante. Como base del estudio tomamos la grabación en vídeo de una representación en directo de la obra mencionada, los textos escritos publicados por Einaudi, contraponiéndolos a las versiones en castellano y en valenciano, editadas por Siruela y por Bromera respectivamente. Revisaremos “la risa”, entendida como factor social y cultural, que asume múltiples funciones enmarcadas en un conjunto de normas explícitas e integradas en la vida social. Así pues, la producción de lo cómico, y su manifestación a través de la risa, sobreentiende siempre un sistema de creencias, valores, reglas y prohibiciones que deberán ser compartidos por el emisor y el destinatario del mensaje cómico para que éste sea plenamente descodificado., Our research starts with Dario Fo and his «La resurrezione di Lazzaro», where we analyse what is called process of desacralisation, that is the use of a comic discourse at a popular level, against the dominating culture. The key of our study is the above mentioned performance, which has been video recorded, and the texts published by Einaudi, doing a comparison with the Spanish version published by Siruela and the Valentian one by Bromera. We will analyse “the laughter” as a social and a cultural matter and several functions within a number of explicit norms which are part of social life. To that extent the comic matter and its performance through the loughter always entails a certain number of beliefs, rules and bans, which producer and receiver of the comic message should share to be duly decoded.

The inscription of the subject in the community, which is activated in ritual, grants meaning and allows for the flow of words and acts around the dead and their remains. The decrease or devaluation of death rituals in the Western world reduces their symbolic efficacy, thus leading to the disappearance of the loved one without mediation, as a non-symbolized real. The resulting elimination of the mortal remains perpetuates the effects of death, such as solitude, depression, and incommunicability, in the mourner. The article defines the new forms assumed by suspended mourning and the role of art in the subjective attempts to overcome it., La inscripción del sujeto en la comunidad, actualizada en el rito, da sentido y permite el flujo de la palabra y la acción alrededor del muerto y sus restos. La disminución o desvalorización de los rituales de muerte en Occidente reduce su eficacia simbólica, lo cual hace que la desaparición del ser amado llegue sin mediación, como un real no simbolizable, que concreta la eliminación de sus restos e intensifica las condiciones que perpetúan los efectos de la muerte sobre el doliente como la soledad, la depresión y la incomunicabilidad. Se ubicarán nuevas formas que toman los duelos suspendidos y el lugar del arte en el intento subjetivo por superarlos., L’inscription du sujet au sein de la communauté, actualisée par le rite, donne sens et permet que la parole coule, permettant aussi l’action autour du mort et de ses dépouilles. L’amoindrissement ou la dévalorisation des rituels de mort en Occident réduit son efficacité symbolique, ce qui conduit à ce que la disparition de l’être aimé s’écoule sans médiation, comme un réel non symbolisable qui concrétise l’élimination de ses restes. La solitude, la dépression et l’incommunicabilité sont des conditions qui perpétuent les effets de la mort sur l’endeuillé. Des nouvelles formes des deuils suspendus et la place de l’art dans l’effort subjectif de les dépasser sont repérés.
