This study aimed to determine the effect of work conflict and workload on the tendency of work stress independently and simultaneously on employees of the warship division at PT. X. This study utilized a quantitative approach and a survey method. The participants of this study were 58 employees of the warship division of PT X who were selected using an accidental sampling technique. The research instruments employed were the work conflict, workload, and work stress scales. The analysis technique used was multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicated that there was an influence of work conflict on the tendency of work stress with a practical contribution of 65.1%, there was an influence of workload on the tendency of work stress with a practical contribution of 44.1%, and there was an influence of work conflict and workload jointly on the tendency of work stress with a practical contribution of 67.9%. The results of this study could be considered for developing psychological interventions for work stress.

Introduction: Mental disorders, as well as cases of suicide, have been increasing worldwide, mainly in people between 15 and 25 years of age. There is a great lag in mental health care since, of the total budget allocated to health, approximately 2% is available in most countries. This problem is reflected in the most vulnerable groups, such as health personnel. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, according to different studies carried out in this population, a high risk of developing depression was identified. Likewise, it has been determined that health personnel, specifically doctors and nurses, are in constant stress both in their academic training and at the work level. Methodology: Type of research: observational, transversal, descriptive and retrospective, it was carried out on fellows and nursing staff of the General Hospital of Zone 3 Tuxtepec, in the time period from December 2022 to January 2023, the Inventory of Health Professions Stress Index (HPSI) and the Beck Depression Inventory-II. Results: Of the total population studied, 84.5% (147/174) presented work stress from moderate to severe, of the female gender 89.8% compared to 80.9% of the total of men. Regarding symptoms of depression, 29.3% (51/174) presented mild symptoms to extremely serious symptoms. Regarding the sex variable, it was found that the percentage of depression symptoms was higher in men than women, with 33.8% and 26.3% respectively. Likewise, the data analysis was carried out with the Odds Ratio or Odds Ratio with a result of 13,402 with a 95% CI. Conclusions: Through the analysis of the Odds Ratio, it was determined that people who have been exposed to work stress have 13,402 times more risk of suffering from depressive symptoms than people who did not experience work stress with a calculation with a confidence interval (CI) of 95%, therefore it is a risk factor for the population exposed to work stress., Introducción: Los trastornos mentales al igual que los casos de suicidios, han ido incrementando a nivel mundial, principalmente en personas de 15 a 25 años de edad. Existe un gran rezago en la atención de la salud mental ya que, del total del presupuesto destinado a la salud, se dispone 2% aproximadamente en la mayoría de los países. Esta problemática se ve reflejada en los grupos con mayor vulnerabilidad, como en el personal de salud. Ante la pandemia por COVID-19, de acuerdo a diferentes estudios realizados en esta población, se identificó alto riesgo de presentar depresión. Así mismo se ha determinado que el personal de salud, específicamente médicos y enfermeras, se encuentran en constante estrés tanto en su formación académica, como a nivel laboral. Metodología: Tipo de investigación: observacional, transversal, descriptivo y retrospectivo, se realizó en becarios y personal de enfermería del Hospital General de Zona 3 Tuxtepec, en el periodo de tiempo de diciembre 2022 a enero de 2023, se utilizó el Inventario de estrés de profesiones de la salud (HPSI) y el Inventario de Depresión de Beck-II. Resultados: Del total de la población estudiada el 84.5% (147/174) presento estrés laboral desde moderado a severo, del género femenino 89.8% comparado con 80.9% del total de hombres. En cuanto a síntomas de depresión, el 29.3% (51/174) presentó síntomas leves a síntomas de extrema gravedad. En cuanto a la variable sexo, se obtuvo que fue más el porcentaje de síntomas de depresión en hombres que mujeres, con 33.8% y 26.3% respectivamente. Así mismo se realizó el análisis de datos con la Odds Ratio o Razón de momios con resultado de 13.402 con IC de 95%. Conclusiones: Mediante el análisis del Odds Ratio se determinó que las personas que se han expuesto a estrés laboral tienen 13.402 veces más riesgo de padecer síntomas depresivos que las personas que no presentaron estrés laboral con cálculo con un intervalo de confianza (IC) de 95%, por lo tanto, es un factor de riesgo

Objective: The study seeks to determine the levels of work stress in the employees of a service company, describing the causes and their financial impact. Theoretical Framework: The concepts of work stress defined as a general state of tension that triggers different emotional, cognitive, physiological and behavioral reactions are addressed, as well as some causing factors such as: Physical Environment, Job Demand, Knowing the tasks and interpersonal relationships. Method: The study has a mixed approach, where qualitative categories were given quantitative management of the data, to find numerical evidence and be able to explain in more detail the presence of the event. The ILO-WHO Work Stress scale was used as an instrument, which was applied to 33 employees of a Contact Center company in the city of Manizales. Results and Discussion: The results obtained revealed that work stress is below the limit of the intermediate stress range (81.09 / 90.02) and that due to Absenteeism and Turnover, the company has had costs of $43,995,586 COP according to approximate calculations. Research Implications: The evidence from the study showed information that allows companies in the service sector to generate strategies for stress management and contribute to reducing costs due to absenteeism and turnover, the above could be used in other sectors or companies in the region. Originality/Value: The value lies in contributing to the development of the state of the art on the subject and as a reference for future studies since the state of the art shows little research in Contact Center companies in Latin America, likewise for companies generating well-being strategies and the management of the stress.

The objective of this research was to analyze the most frequent causes of work-related stress among teachers of the Julio Moreno Espinosa and Bethel Educational Units in Santo Domingo, Ecuador. We opted for a quantitative approach with a non-experimental cross-sectional design and descriptive scope. The entire population, composed of 66 teachers from both institutions, participated in the study. The methodology included the use of surveys and a questionnaire validated by the Spanish Institute for Safety and Hygiene at Work (INSHT) with 56 items. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics and SPSS, revealing that teachers could present acute episodic and chronic stress, mainly originated by the stressors: activities related to students, adaptation to changes, valuation of external people and needs for improvement within the context of their practice. These results underscore the importance of promptly addressing certain challenges perceived by teachers, providing a starting point to improve their professional performance and promote the overall development and well-being of the educational community., La investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar las causas de estrés laboral más frecuentes entre los docentes de las Unidades Educativas Julio Moreno Espinosa y Bethel en Santo Domingo, Ecuador. Se optó por un enfoque cuantitativo con un diseño no experimental de tipo transversal y alcance descriptivo. La totalidad de la población, compuesta por 66 docentes de ambas instituciones, participó en el estudio. La metodología incluyó el uso de encuestas y un cuestionario validado por el Instituto de Seguridad e Higiene en el Trabajo de España (INSHT) con 56 ítems. El análisis de datos se llevó a cabo mediante estadística descriptiva y SPSS, revelando las docentes podrían presentar estrés agudo episódico y crónico, originado principalmente por los estresores: actividades vinculadas con el alumnado, adaptación a cambios, valoración de personas externas y necesidades de mejora dentro del contexto de su práctica. Estos resultados subrayan la importancia de abordar de manera pronta ciertos desafíos percibidos por los docentes, proporcionando un punto de partida que mejore su desempeño profesional y promueva el desarrollo y bienestar general de la comunidad educativa.

Objective: The objective of this study is to describe the levels of exhaustion in occupational therapists in Spain in various work settings, as well as its possible relationship with various variables such as gender, years of professional experience and work environment, among others. Method: There was a sample of 277 professionals belonging to different autonomous communities of Spain, both from the private and public sectors, who were given an ad hoc questionnaire, in which sociodemographic data and the variables of the questionnaire were collected. Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Results: 85.9% of the sample presented medium levels of Burnout Syndrome, so high levels of the syndrome cannot be assumed in this population. Although it should be noted that there is no subject in the sample without signs of Burnout. In the subscale of emotional exhaustion, the majority 67.1% reached the cut-off point that refers to the medium level. Conclusions: These hypotheses were not corroborated, although it is confirmed that there is no relational distancing of the occupational therapist with respect to the patients and that female occupational therapists have a higher rate of emotional exhaustion than men due to the high percentage of this sex in the sample., Objetivos: el objetivo del presente estudio es describir los niveles de agotamiento en terapeutas ocupacionales de España en diversos ámbitos laborales, así como su posible relación con diversas variables como el sexo, años de experiencia profesional y ámbito laboral entre otros. Método: se contó con una muestra de 277 profesionales pertenecientes a distintas comunidades autónomas de España, tanto del sector privado como público, a los que se le realizó un cuestionario ad hoc, en el cual se recogían datos sociodemográficos y las variables del cuestionario Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Resultado: el 85.9% de la muestra presentó niveles medios de Síndrome de Burnout por lo que no se puede asumir altos niveles del síndrome en esta población. Si bien cabe señalar que no existe ningún sujeto de la muestra sin indicios de Burnout. En la subescala de agotamiento emocional la mayoría 67.1% alcanzó el punto de corte que se refiere al nivel medio. Conclusión: se confirmó que no se encuentra distanciamiento relacional del terapeuta ocupacional respecto a los pacientes y que las terapeutas ocupacionales mujeres presentan mayor índice de agotamiento emocional que los hombres, debido al alto porcentaje de este sexo en la muestra.

Sources of noise in the workplace come from operating machines, such as sand mines in Cempaka and Banjarbaru, which contribute to workplace noise. Sand mines use diesel engines; the engine sound is loud enough that all workers in the mine are exposed to the noise. Workers who are exposed to high-intensity noise experience work stress. The study aimed to determine the relationship between noise exposure and work stress among sand mining workers in Banjarbaru. This observational-analytic study used a cross-sectional design. Observations were made on 25 workers who were exposed to noise. The data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation test. The results of noise measurements in sand mines ranged from 72.1 dBA to 88 dBA, with noise exposure for each worker ranging from 65.5 dBA to 83.7 dBA and work stress scores ranging from 34.12% to 50.7%. Statistically, there is an association between noise exposure and work stress. It is recommended to check the diesel engine, lubricate it to reduce noise in old and poorly maintained engines, use ear protection devices, such as ear plugs and ear muffs, to reduce noise exposure, and rotate every job task, especially for workers around diesel engines., Noise is the sound of an inappropriate place and time. Introduction:Emotional eating is a person's response to stress or inadequate and ineffective stress coping and is shown by the behavior of eating more than needed and is associated with increased body weight. Emotional eating is caused by age, gender, exercise habits, and work stress. Based on the observations carried out at Kalla Group Office, employees tend to work in a monotonous and static manner that has the potential to increase the risk of emotional eating. The aim of this research is to determine the strength and weakness of the correlation between age, gender, exercise habits, and work stress with emotional eating in Kalla Head Office workers. Methods: This quantitative research was carried out through analytical observational design. The number of samples taken is 133 people using purposive sampling. In this case, the independent variables measured are age, gender, exercise habits, and work stress. Meanwhile, the dependent variable studied is the level of emotional eating using "The Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire of 13 items (DEBQ-13)". Data were further analyzed using Spearman correlation coefficient test (Spearman rho). Results: The research results show varied relationship with the independent variables including age (r = 0.052), gender (r = 0.251), exercise habits (r = -0.128), and stress (r = 0.048). Conclusion: Age is a variable that has the weakest relationship, while gender has the strongest relationship with emotional eating compared to the variables exercise habits and work stress.

Regarding the gendered structure and competitive work environment of police organizations, women are under extra pressure from the pervasive gendered norms within the police organization. The aim of this dissertation is to study sexual and gender-based harassment and work-related stress as important work environment elements from a gender perspective, and to explore if and how these elements can affect police officers’ job satisfaction in the context of Swedish police work. This thesis is based on three studies: a scoping review, a quantitative study, and a qualitative study, resulting in four articles. In the scoping review study on sexual and gender-based harassment in police work in the European context 16 articles on sexual and gender-based harassment against police employees were studied. Thematic analysis was applied to obtain the main patterns across and within the included studies. In the qualitative study, data collection included one group interview and 12 individual interviews with male and female police officers. Thematic and content analysis were conducted to analyze the interviews. During the quantitative study, data were collected from 152 male and female police officers applying a set of questionnaires including sociodemographic questions, the Police Stress Identification Questionnaire (PSIQ), Sexual and gender-based harassment questions, and Job Descriptive Index (JDI). The scoping review showed that most of the European studies were focused on sexual harassment, while gender-based harassment was often overlooked or mixed with other types of harassment and discrimination. Six main themes were found in the studies; the existence of sexual and gender-based harassment, perpetrators, associated factors, consequences, individual response, and impact of organizational policies. The purpose of this qualitative transcendental phenomenological research study was to describe the shared emotional experiences of 10 senior pastors of Christian churches located in rural central Virginia due to the national COVID 19 mandate that forced them to close their houses of worship. Moreover, in the United States of America, a COVID 19 mandate was implemented that closed places of worship, which altered the American pastor’s routine schedule. Therefore, the central research question explicated in this research study was, “What are the personal emotions experienced by 10 senior pastors in rural Virginia during a phenomenon, the national COVID 19 mandate, that closed houses of worship?” To note, this research study journeyed to discover if these pastors experienced spiritual injury due to this COVID 19 mandate. Furthermore, to discover the influence of the COVID 19 phenomenon that affected these American pastors, this research study implemented a qualitative research method, which utilized the transcendental phenomenological qualitative research design to research their exposure to spiritual injury and to mental health anxiety disorder due to the COVID 19 mandate that closed their churches.

Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA)-axis hyperactivity measured by the combined dexamethasone-CRH test (DEX-CRH test) has been found in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD), whereas hypoactivity has been found in patients with work-related stress. We aimed to investigate the DEX-CRH test as a biomarker to distinguish between MDD and work-related stress (exhaustion disorder - ED). We hypothesized that there would be lower cortisol and ACTH response in participants with ED compared to MDD and healthy controls (HC). Also, we explored if the cortisol response of those patients interacted with robust markers of oxidative stress. Thirty inpatients with MDD and 23 outpatients with ED were recruited. Plasma cortisol and ACTH were sampled during a DEX-CRH test. The main outcome measure, area under the curve (AUC) for cortisol and ACTH, was compa-red between MDD vs. ED participants and a historical HC group. Secondary markers of oxidative stress urinary 8-oxodG and 8-oxoGuo; quality of sleep and psychometrics were obtained. Cortisol concentrations were higher in MDD and ED participants compared to HC, and no differences in AUC cortisol and ACTH were found between ED vs. MDD. Compared to ED, MDD participants had higher stress symptom severity and a lower sense of well-being. No differences in oxidative stress markers or quality of sleep between the groups were found. La salud mental, según la definición de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) 2021, se refiere a un estado de bienestar en el cual cada individuo tiene la capacidad de alcanzar su máximo potencial, manejar adecuadamente las tensiones y desafíos de la vida, desempeñarse de manera productiva en su trabajo y contribuir positivamente a su comunidad. Este enfoque global de la salud mental reconoce la importancia de fomentar el bienestar emocional y psicológico, así como prevenir y tratar trastornos mentales. El objetivo principal de este trabajo fue evaluar los factores de riesgo psicosocial presentes en la notaria. Para lograrlo, se empleó la Batería de instrumentos del Ministerio de la Protección, Estas evaluaciones se llevaron a cabo en 4 sesiones, empezando con una revisión exhaustiva en fundamentación teórica de los factores de riesgo psicosocial. En la segunda sesión, se procedió a analizar las encuestas aplicadas a los colaboradores de la notaria. Estas encuestas proporcionaron información valiosa sobre la percepción y el impacto que los factores de riesgo psicosocial tienen en los trabajadores. La información recopilada fue luego sistematizada y analizada en profundidad. Finalmente, con base en los resultados obtenidos, se generó una propuesta de intervención para mejorar las condiciones de trabajo en la notaria.

Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA)-axis hyperactivity measured by the combined dexamethasone-CRH test (DEX-CRH test) has been found in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD), whereas hypoactivity has been found in patients with work-related stress. We aimed to investigate the DEX-CRH test as a biomarker to distinguish between MDD and work-related stress (exhaustion disorder - ED). We hypothesized that there would be lower cortisol and ACTH response in participants with ED compared to MDD and healthy controls (HC). Also, we explored if the cortisol response of those patients interacted with robust markers of oxidative stress. Thirty inpatients with MDD and 23 outpatients with ED were recruited. Plasma cortisol and ACTH were sampled during a DEX-CRH test. The main outcome measure, area under the curve (AUC) for cortisol and ACTH, was compa-red between MDD vs. ED participants and a historical HC group. Secondary markers of oxidative stress urinary 8-oxodG and 8-oxoGuo; quality of sleep and psychometrics were obtained. Cortisol concentrations were higher in MDD and ED participants compared to HC, and no differences in AUC cortisol and ACTH were found between ED vs. MDD. Objective: Performance is necessary to increase one's capacity to handle competition. Several reasons, such as time constraints, physical and mental exhaustion, and taking on several duties, can lead to excessive workloads, which in turn can cause stress in some employees and lower performance. This study attempts to ascertain the impact of work stress and workload on job satisfaction with its impact on employee performance at PT Industri Kapal Indonesia (Persero). Method: Cross-sectional study design in quantitative research. 104 employees who were chosen by simple random sampling participated in the study. A questionnaire and the Pulse Oximeter Tool were used to measure the variables related to physical workload. Path analysis was used to examine the data using Analysis Moment of Structural (AMOS) software. Results: The results showed that there is an effect of work stress on job satisfaction (p=0.002), work period affects job satisfaction (p=0.000), mental workload affects job satisfaction (p=0.026), physical workload does not affect on job satisfaction (p=0.649), there is no direct effect of work stress on employee performance (p=0.666), work period affects employee performance (p=0.002), mental workload affects employee performance (p=0.014), physical workload affects employee performance (p=0,000), work stress has an indirect effect on employee performance through job satisfaction (p=0.005), work period has an indirect effect on employee performance through job satisfaction (p=0.002), mental workload has an indirect effect on employee performance through job satisfaction (p=0.035), physical workload has no indirect effect on employee performance through job satisfaction (p=0.539). Conclusion: Furthermore, there is a significant impact on workload and work exhaustion. More investigation is being done on additional variables that may impact output at work. Backgrounds: Police officers at the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) and the Directorate of Drug Investigation at the South Sumatra Regional Police quite often receive assignments outside of working hours, which can then continuously trigger increased work stress among police officers. Work stress in the police itself is important to pay attention to because work stress in the police profession has a negative impact on the quality of relations between the police and the community. In general, work stress is strongly influenced by resilience, self-efficacy and self-esteem. This research was then carried out with the aim of seeing the influence of resilience, self-efficacy and self-esteem on work stress through the work-life balance variable.   Method: The research will be carried out using a descriptive quantitative approach. The data analysis technique used in this research is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The nature of this research is to determine and explain the influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable, both directly and indirectly through intervening variables.   Results: This research began by carrying out instrument tests. The results of the validity test state that all variables are valid. The results of the reliability test show that all variables are reliable. Objective: Since the main responsibility of an Air Traffic Controller (ATC) is to prevent and avoid aircraft collisions, occupational safety and health must be a top priority for ATCs to maintain excellent work performance and be able to direct air traffic. ATCs experience high levels of stress at work, which may influence the occurrence of conflict. Through the use of job stress as an intervening variable, this study sought to examine the direct and indirect effects of interpersonal conflict and family problems on employee performance in the Makassar City air traffic control (ATC) workforce. Method: A quantitative study that takes a cross-sectional method. Using a straightforward random selection technique, 100 employees of ATC’s in MATSC served as the sample size. The SPSS program was used to process data univariately and bivariately, and the AMOS program was used to process data multivariately using path analysis. Results: The results showed that there is a direct effect of workplace conflict (p-value = 0.013), family problems (p-value = 0.001), work stress (p-value = 0.047) on employee performance and has an indirect effect of workplace conflict (p-value = 0.005) and family problems (p-value = 0.008) on employee performance through work stress. Conclusion: This demonstrates that workplace conflict and family problems have a direct and indirect impact on employees' performance through job stress as an intervening variable. Future studies are anticipated to look at aspects besides workplace conflict and family problems that can impact employee performance. Objective: Air Traffic Controller (ATC) is one of the professions that has a high level of stress due to the very heavy burden of PLLU job responsibilities that risk the lives of airplane passengers and all flight crews. Work stress for ATC officers must be avoided because it can affect personal health and productivity at work. ATC officers require a lot of focus and energy that should be balanced with a lot of human resources as well. Method: This research design is cross-sectional, namely observational research design with a sample size of 65 Air Traffic Controller (ATC) employees selected by proportional random sampling. The SPSS program was used to process data univariately and the Smart PLS program was used to process data bivariately and multivariately using path analysis. Results: Then, the results showed that there was an effect of tenure on work stress (p=0.025), workload on work stress (p=0.00), age on work productivity (p=0.01), the effect of workload on work productivity (p=0.016), while there was no effect of age on work stress (p=0.22), tenure on work productivity (p=0.692), work stress on work productivity (p=0.46). Based on the intervening test, the indirect effect of age on work productivity through work stress (p=0.6530), the indirect effect of tenure on work productivity through work stress (p=0.542) and the indirect effect of workload on work productivity through stress is (p=0.461). Conclusion: Age, tenure and workload have a direct and indirect effect on work productivity, while the variables of age on productivity through work stress, tenure on productivity through work stress, and workload on productivity through work stress have no direct effect. During COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare workers’ mental health worsened, due to the severe risk factors they daily faced. Although several studies addressed the impact of this pandemic on their mental health, just a few of them focused on emotion regulation. Therefore, the aim of this study is to explore the role of emotion regulation strategies and the recovery process on health personnel’s mental health during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. A cross-sectional and web-based study was conducted with 100 health professionals working in Spain during the first wave of COVID-19 (April-May, 2020). The survey included demographics, depression, PTSD, and emotional exhaustion as symptomatology, and several emotion regulation strategies and recovery variables as predictive factors. Regression analyses highlighted rumination and self-criticism as the main positive predictors of symptomatology and negative affect. Relaxation turned out to be a negative predictor for depression and emotional exhaustion. However, greater use of distraction also seemed to contribute to higher levels of emotional exhaustion. Finally, acceptance, psychological detachment and self-compassion were significant and positive predictors of positive affect. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of work-family conflict and work exhaustion on turnover intention mediated by work stress in employees of PT Firad Mandiri in Sorowako, East Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi Province. This research approach uses quantitative-explanatory. Data collection methods are in the form of questionnaires, interviews and documentation, with the types of data namely primary data from the results of filling out questionnaires distributed to all data providers from respondents and secondary data obtained from the Human Resources Development section of PT Firad Mandiri with predetermined criteria. The results of the study show that work-family conflict and work exhaustion have a significant effect on turnover intention, work-family conflict and work exhaustion have a significant effect on work stress, work stress has no significant effect on turnover intention, work stress has no effect in mediating the relationship between work-family conflict on turnover intention, and work stress have no effect in mediating the relationship between work exhaustion and turnover intention.

The current study aimed to investigate if improvements in exhaustion symptoms, insomnia, perfectionistic behaviors, psychological flexibility, and perceived work ability during treatment of ED were associated with subsequent sick leave in the year following treatment. Methods Using a cohort of 880 ED patients who had participated in a multimodal intervention based on Cognitive Behavior Therapy, we estimated the association between one standard deviation (SD) improvement in treatment-related variables and the rate of net days of sick leave one-year following treatment. Results Our results showed that improvements in all treatment-related variables were associated with lower sick leave rates one year following treatment. Improvements in exhaustion symptoms (rate ratio (RR): 0.70 [95% CI 0.66; 0.75]) and self-perceived work ability (RR 0.56 [95% CI 0.50; 0.63]) showed the strongest associations to subsequent sick leave. Esto es lo que motivó al docente e investigador universitario Samuel Scarpato Mejuto a publicar la sátira psiquiátrica “Doctor doctor, 100 extraños relatos doctorales”, donde recrea cien encuentros entre un entusiasta paciente y un psiquiatra muy formal. El meta mensaje es abrir el proceso comunicativo de manera permanente, sin esperar que se acumulen inquietudes en nuestra mente que, a su vez, puedan derivar en problemas de burnout en el medio laboral o familiar. Introduction: there is a close relationship between the health of an individual, their workplace and the community, which influences the quality of life and consequently the morbidity and mortality of people who suffer from chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Therefore, our objective is to review the existing literature on the influence of healthy work environments and the control of NCDs (diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure and obesity). Methodology: a bibliographic review was carried out in the databases: Scielo, Pubmed, SciencieDirect and Google Scholar. Results: NCDs affect all people regardless of age, nationality, or residence; Approximately 15 million of these deaths occur between ages 30 and 69. Physical activity and nutrition have a social influence and the work environment provides a favorable context for this influence on manifest. Work environments that promote the emotional and physical well-being of people improve worker health and the results of organizations. Conclusion: the implementation of prevention and early diagnosis programs for cardiovascular risk, weight control and healthy habits will generate benefits to the workplace, to workers affected and at risk of NCDs, which will translate into greater adherence to treatment, adequate management of stress, decreased work absenteeism, achievement of objectives and goals in the organization and greater profits., Introducción: existe una relación estrecha entre la salud de un individuo, su lugar de trabajo y la comunidad, lo que influye en la calidad de vida y, por consiguiente, en la morbilidad y mortalidad de las personas que padecen Enfermedades Crónicas No Transmisibles (ECNT). El objetivo del presente artículo es revisar la literatura existen-te sobre la influencia de los entornos laborales saludables y el control de las ECNT, como la diabetes mellitus, la hipertensión arterial y la obesidad. Metodología: se rea-lizó una revisión bibliográfica en las bases de datos Scielo, Pubmed, ScienceDirect y Google Académico. Resultados: las ECNT afectan a todas las personas, sin importar su edad, nacionalidad o residencia; aproximadamente 15 millones de estas muertes ocurren entre los 30 y 69 años. La actividad física y la alimentación tienen una in-fluencia social, y el entorno laboral proporciona un contexto propicio para que esta influencia se manifieste. Los entornos de trabajo que favorecen el bienestar emocio-nal y físico de las personas mejoran la salud del trabajador y los resultados de las organizaciones. Conclusión: la implementación de programas de prevención y diag-nóstico temprano del riesgo cardiovascular, control del peso y hábitos saludables generará beneficios para el centro de trabajo, los trabajadores afectados y aquellos en riesgo de ECNT. Esto se traducirá en una mayor adherencia al tratamiento, un ade-cuado manejo del estrés, la disminución del ausentismo laboral, el logro de objetivos y metas en la organización, y mayores ganancias.

Introduction:Work stress can occur in many professions, including nursing, which is inseparable from individual characteristics. Inpatient is one of the units at Ploso Regional Public Hospital, Jombang, which has time-consuming work that requires observation on an ongoing basis. This study aimed to understand the relationship between individual characteristics, such as age, gender, marital status, working period, and personality type, with the level of work stress experienced by the inpatient installation unit nurses at Ploso Regional Public Hospital, Jombang. Methods: Observational descriptive study was applied with a cross-sectional design. Age, gender, marital status, working period, and personality type were the independent variables used in this study, while the dependent variable was work stress. The sample used was the total accessible population of nurses in the inpatient unit with 33 respondents. The data collection method used was a general questionnaire for personal variables (age, gender, marital status, working period), Personality Type Questionnaire for personality type, and Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Questionnaire for work stress. Data were analyzed using chi-square correlation and spearman correlation test. Results: In the inpatient installation unit, most nurses were male between the ages of 24-37, had a working period of less than five years, were married, and had type A personality. The individual characteristics which had a moderate relationship with work stress were age (ρ = 0.419), marital status (ρ = 0.461), and working period (ρ = 0.359). Gender (ρ = 0.246) and personality type (ρ = 0.179) had a weak relationship with work stress. Conclusion: Age, marital status, and working period had a moderate relationship with work stress, while gender and personality type had a weak relationship.

Objective: To assess the risk factors perceived as stressors by pregnant women in the work environment and the possible adverse consequences of such exposure for the normal development of pregnancy. Methods: Systematic review, guided by the PRISMA guidelines, and using Pubmed, Web of Science, Dialnet, SciELO, and REDIB databases. Methodological quality was assessed using the critical appraisal tools for non-randomised studies of the Joanna Briggs Institute. Results: A total of 38 studies were included. The main risk factors found in the work environment of pregnant women were chemical, psychosocial, physical-ergonomicmechanical factors, and other work-related factors. The main adverse consequences of exposure to these factors include low birth weight, preterm birth, miscarriage, hypertension and pre-eclampsia, as well as various obstetric complications. Conclusion: During pregnancy, working conditions that are considered acceptable in normal situations may not be so during this stage due to the major changes that occur during pregnancy. Many obstetric effects may have an important impact in the mother’s psychological status; therefore, it is important to optimise working conditions during this stage and to reduce or eliminate possible risks.

The implementation of K3 cannot be separated from the existence of Occupational Diseases and Occupational Accidents. One of the jobs that are at risk of experiencing Occupational Diseases and Occupational Accidents is the Harbor Mobile Crane Operator. One of the diseases caused by work is work stress. The purpose to analyze the relationship between individual factors and work factors on the work stress of Harbor Mobile Crane operators at PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Sub Regional III East Java. The research methodology used is an analytical survey research with a Cross Sectional approach. The primary data was collected by taking the sample through the DASS 21 questionnaire while the secondary data through the company profile provided by the Branch Manager of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Sub Regional III East Java. The research sample was 26 operators which were taken from the entire population. Data analysis used chi-square test for nominal data and Spearman correlation test for ordinal data. The results showed that most of the operators experienced is normal and a small portion experienced heavy work stress. Factors related to operator work stress, namely, age, marital status, education level, work period and shift work. The results of relationship test of marital status showed a relationship with work stress and the others factor is not showing relationship with work stress. The conclusion of the study shows that there is a relationship between individual factors with operator work stress. From the results of the study, companies are advised to give a conselling session to the unmartial operators to reduce work stress operators.

Arbetsrelaterad stress är ett utbrett samhällsproblem. Som en konsekvens av den flexibla arbetsmarknaden ökar tidsbegränsade anställningar, vilket kan orsaka arbetsrelaterad stress. Syftet med studien är att undersöka vad som kan predicera att människor upplever generell arbetsstress, och om stressen skiljer sig utifrån anställningsform. Arbetsrelaterad stress mättes flerdimensionellt genom generell arbetsstress, krav-kontroll-stöd-modellen och anställningsotrygghet. Enkäten besvarades av 181 deltagare varav 69% var kvinnor och 31% män, 76% hade en visstidsanställning och 27% hade en tidsbegränsad anställning. Resultatet visade att de med tidsbegränsade anställningar hade högre anställningsotrygghet än tillsvidareanställda. Vidare framkom att anställningsotrygghet, krav, stöd, och kön kan predicera generell arbetsstress, men inte anställningsform, kontroll och ålder. Krav förklarade störst andel variation i generell arbetsstress, därefter stöd, anställningsotrygghet och kön. Totalt förklarades 44% av variansen av generell arbetsstress. På grund av högre anställninsgotrygghet riskerar anställda med tidsbegränsad anställning mer negativa hälsoeffekter än tillsvidareanställda. Eftersom stöd har en dämpande effekt mot stress, kan det vara anledningen till att resultatet inte visade en skillnad mellan anställningsformerna gällande generell arbetsstress.

Background: Individuals' lives have been substantially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. We aimed to describe changes in psychosocial work environment and mental health and to investigate associations between job insecurity and mental ill-health in relation to changes in other psychosocial work factors, loneliness and financial worries. Methods: A sub-sample of individuals from the eighth Swedish Longitudinal Occupational Survey of Health answered a web-based survey in early 2021 about current and pandemic-related changes in health, health behaviours, work and private life. We investigated participants working before the pandemic (N=1231) in relation to standardised measures on depression, anxiety and loneliness, together with psychosocial work factors, in descriptive and logistic regression analyses. Results: While 9% reached the clinical threshold for depression and 6% for anxiety, more than a third felt more worried, lonelier or in a low mood since the start of the pandemic. Two per cent had been dismissed from their jobs, but 16% experienced workplace downsizings. Conditioning on socio-demographic factors and prior mental-health problems, the 8% experiencing reduced job security during the pandemic had a higher risk of anxiety, but not of depression, compared to employees with unaltered or increased job security. Loneliness and other psychosocial work factors explained more of the association than objective measures of job insecurity and financial worries. Conclusions: Reduced job security during the COVID-19 pandemic seems to have increased the risk of anxiety among individuals with a strong labour market attachment, primarily via loneliness and other psychosocial work factors. Objectives: Workplace bullying has been suggested to increase symptoms of anxiety. A reverse relationship has also been proposed. However, so far only few earlier studies have investigated this topic and the reported associations might partly be explained by unmeasured individual characteristics. In this study, we aim to examine the temporality and directionality between workplace bullying and anxiety symptoms, taking time-invariant characteristics into account. Furthermore, we aim to examine whether leadership quality modifies these associations. Methods: We included 13 491 individuals from two nationwide cohort studies in Sweden and Denmark. Using cross-lagged structural equation models (SEM) and dynamic panel models with fixed effects, we examined contemporaneous and lagged associations between self-reported workplace bullying and anxiety. Cohort-specific results were estimated and combined using fixed-effect meta-analysis. Results: The cross-lagged SEM models supported contemporaneous and lagged relationships in both directions (from workplace bullying to symptoms of anxiety and vice versa). In contrast, only contemporaneous relationships remained statistically significant and of considerable magnitude in the dynamic panel models with fixed effects. Specifically, exposure to workplace bullying was related to a concurrent increase in anxiety symptoms (b=0.61, 95% confidence interval 0.32–0.90). No support of interaction with leadership quality was found. Conclusions: The results indicate that onset of workplace bullying is associated with an immediate or short-term increase in anxiety symptoms. In this cross-sectional study, we investigated work-related stress, gender-based and sexual harassment among police officers working in vulnerable areas in Stockholm. Data were collected from 152 police officers using a set of questionnaires. The results indicated that job stress in “impact on significant others” and “operational stress” were reported as the two most highly rated work-related stress in police officers. Female police officers rated higher stress in “impact on significant others” and “operational stress” compared to their male counterparts. Job experience was correlated with two stress subscales only in female officers. Working as patrol officers and more than one shift were negatively associated with some stress subscales among male officers. The male officers who had experience of sexual harassment reported higher “self-image” stress and “operational stress”, whereas the female officers had higher “self-image” and “confrontation with death” stress. After controlling for gender and job experience, sexual harassment had a significant relationship with “operational stress” and “self-image stress” in police officers.

ObjectivesWork-related psychosocial stressors have been recognized as occupational hazards and assessed in workplaces in many countries for decades. Identifying tools to measure work-related psychosocial hazards to increase awareness in the United States about the impact on employees' health and safety is critical ( J Occup Environ Med. 2021;63:e245-e249).MethodsWe describe the development and psychometric validation of an online tool, the Healthy Work Survey, utilizing items from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Quality of Work Life questionnaire.ResultsThere are 55 items in the final core work section of the HWS. Factor analyses confirmed nine factors, and the subsequent multi-item scales had acceptable internal consistency. A user-friendly, online system and automated report compares individual's and organization's scores to distributions from a representative US working population (General Social Survey Quality of Work Life).DiscussionThe HWS is a reliable, valid tool for organizations and individuals to assess psychosocial work hazards.
