Linearna regresija najčešći je oblik regresijske analize. Ako su pretpostavke normalnosti, homogenosti i nezavisnosti slučajnih grešaka ispunjene, metoda najmanjih kvadrata daje egzaktne rezultate. U praksi su pretpostavke često oslabljene ili čak nedostižne, čime se traži alternativa u procjeni koeficijenata. Metode ponovnog uzorkovanja koje se zasnivaju na zakonu velikih brojeva nameću se kao moguće potencijalno rješenje. U ovom radu proučava se bootstrap metoda, koja polazi od ideje da statistički uzorak već sadrži sve dostupne informacije o nekoj funkciji distribucije F te ponovnim uzorkovanjem dobiva se uzorak koji pripada toj istoj distribuciji. U središtu interesa su dva algoritma - metoda uzorkovanja podataka i metoda uzorkovanja grešaka. U prvom poglavlju iznose se osnovni pojmovi teorije vjerojatnosti te se predstavlja bootstrap metoda. U drugom poglavlju definiran je jednostavan model linearne regresije te je iznesena ideja bootstrap metode za distribuciju procjenitelja. Treće poglavlje je proširivanje drugog poglavlja na višedimenzionalan slučaj. Također, predstavljen je pojam predikcije te uloga bootstrap metode u tom pogledu. U četvrtom poglavlju izloženi su praktični rezultati dobiveni raznim simulacijama u programskom jeziku R. Dodatak na kraju rada je peto poglavlje, gdje se nalazi kod korišten za provođenje simulacija. Linear regression is the most common form of regression analysis. If the assumptions of normality, homogeneity and independence of random errors are satisfied, the least square method gives exact results. In practice, assumptions are often difficult to reach or even elusive, which requires looking for an alternative. Resampling methods, based on the law of large numbers, are offered as a possible potential solution. In this paper, the bootstrap method is studied, which is based on the idea that a statistical sample already contains all available information about a distribution function F, so by resampling, we get a sample that belongs to that same distribution. Two algorithms are particularly discussed – the data resampling method and the errors resampling method. In the first chapter, the basic concepts of probability theory and the bootstrap method are presented. In the second chapter, a simple linear regression model is defined and the idea of the bootstrap method for the distribution of estimators is exposed. The third chapter is an extension of the second chapter to a multidimensional case. Also, the concept of prediction and the role of the bootstrap method in this respect are presented. In the fourth chapter, the practical results obtained by conducting various simulations in the R programming language are exposed. The code used to perform the simulations is presented at the end of the paper, in the fifth chapter.

U ovome radu upoznali smo se s pojmom stohastičkih diferencijalnih jednadžbi i njenim primjenama. Podsjetili smo se gradiva teorije vjerojatnosti potrebnog za razumijevanje ovog rada. Upoznali smo se s Brownovim gibanjem, stohastičkim procesom čija je ”derivacija“ upravo ”bijeli šum “ podataka koji se često pojavljuje prilikom modeliranja parcijalnim diferencijalnim jednadžbama nekog problema iz stvarnoga svijeta. Kao osnovne pojmove za ovu tematiku uveli su se Itov integral i Itova formula. Opisano je kako izgledaju stohastičke diferencijalne jednadžbe, te je stavljen naglasak na egzistenciji i jedinstvenosti njihovog rješenja, te dokaz navedene tvrdnje. Na samome kraju rada obrađeno je nekoliko primjena teorije gdje se prikazao jedan dio upotrebe stohastičkih diferencijalnih jednadžbi u rješavanju problema koji se pojavljuju u praksi. In this paper, we were introduced to the term stochastic differential equation and its applications. We have recalled the foundations of probability theory necessary for understanding this thesis. We were introduced to Brownian motion, a stochastic process whose ”derivative” is the ”white noise” of data that often appears in modeling real-world problems with partial differential equations. The Ito integral and the Ito formula were introduced as basic concepts for this topic. It is described what stochastic differential equations look like and emphasis is placed on the existence and uniqueness of their solution, as well as the proof of the stated statement. At the very end of the paper, several applications of the theory were discussed, where one part of the use of stochastic differential equations in solving problems arising from the real world was presented.

Osnovna tema diplomskog rada je rješavanje problema u matematici. Za učinkovito rješavanje problema primjenjuju se različite strategije. Diplomski rad posebno je usredotočen na strategije usko vezane za rješavanje odredenih problemskih situacija i njihovo poučavanje u nastavi matematike. Cilj ovog diplomskog rada je istražiti i analizirati strategije rješavanja problema u nastavnom predmetu Matematika. Svrha ovog rada je prezentirati potencijale u učenju i poučavanju strategija za rješavanje problema u nastavi matematike. Time je osobito važno ukazati na značaj pristupa nastavnika tematici rješavanja problema. U radu su predstavljeni praktični primjeri koje nastavnici mogu koristi pri poučavanju strategija za rješavanje problema. Ovim radom želi se potaknuti dublje razumijevanje problematike u području poučavanja strategija rješavanja problema. The basic topic is problem solving in mathematics. Different strategies are used to effectively solve the problem. This document is particularly focused on strategies closely related to solving certain problem situations and teaching them in mathematics classes. The aim of this thesis is to investigate and analyze strategies for problem solving in the teaching subject Mathematics. The purpose of this paper is to present potentials in learning and teaching strategies for problem solving in mathematics teaching. With this, it is particularly important to point out the importance of the teacher’s approach to problem solving. The paper presents practical examples that teachers can use when teaching problem solving strategies. This work aims to encourage a deeper understanding of the problem in the area of teaching problem solving strategies.

U ovom radu je pokazano kako se poznavanjem osnovnih pojmova i činjenica iz linearne algebre mogu dokazati zanimljive, često i važne nejednakosti iz različitih matematičkih disciplina. Primjerima su ilustrirane neke primjene u algebri, kombinatorici, kombinatornoj geometriji te teoriji dizajna. Pri dokazivanju samih nejednakosti korištene su poznate činjenice poput svojstava ranga matrice, dimenzije potprostora vektorskih prostora, kriterij postojanja netrivijalnog rješenja homogenog sustava linearnih jednadžbi te Cauchy-Schwarzove nejednakosti. Zastupljen je i poopćeni oblik Binet-Cauchyjevog teorema o determinanti umnoška matrica, koji je takoder koristan u primjenama. Medu rezultatima dokazanima u radu obuhvaćene su Fisherova nejednakost za kombinatorne dizajne te gornja meda veličine ekviangularnog skupa pravaca u d-dimenzionalnom euklidskom prostoru, što pripada problemima kombinatorne geometrije koji već desetljećima zaokupljaju matematičare i o kojima su posljednjih godina postignuti neki značajni rezultati. In this paper, it is shown how some interesting, often important inequalities from various mathematical disciplines can be proved by using basic concepts and facts from linear algebra. Some applications in algebra, combinatorics, combinatorial geometry and design theory are illustrated by examples. Several well-known statements on the properties of the rank of a matrix, dimensions of subspaces of vector spaces, the criterion of the existence of a non-trivial solution of a homogeneous system of linear equations and the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality were used in the proofs. A generalized form of the Binet-Cauchy theorem on the determinant of the product of matrices is also included, as it is useful in applications. Among the results proved in the paper are Fisher’s inequality for combinatorial designs and the upper limit of the size of the equiangular set of directions in the d-dimensional Euclidean space. The latter result belongs to the topics in combinatorial geometry that have been investigated by mathematicians for decades and about which some significant results have been achieved in recent years.

U ovom radu proučavamo kako možemo koristiti ASIO biblioteku za mrežno programiranje. U prvom poglavlju ovog rada govorimo općenito o mrežnom programiranju. Uvodimo terminologiju koju ćemo koristiti u radu. Osim toga opisana je slojevita struktura koja je nezaobilazni dio aplikacije koja koristi mrežno programiranje. U preostalim poglavljima proučavamo klase i funkcije koje nam pruža ASIO biblioteka. Proučavanje započinjemo utičnicama i proučavanjem kako one omogućuju razmjenu podataka. Da bismo mogli razmjenjivati podatke prvo moramo povezati procese. Nakon što smo naučili glavne načine za povezivanje utičnica, obrađujemo metode i funkcije za slanje i primanje poruka. Metode i funkcije dijelimo na sinkrone i asinkrone te objašnjavamo prednosti i mane svakog od tih pristupa. Rad je većinom baziran na TCP transportnom protokolu jer ćemo njega koristiti u završnom poglavlju, tj. u izradi projektnog zadatka. Kako se i UDP protokol često koristi navodimo razlike u kodu s obzirom na to koji se protokol koristi. Za kraj prikazujemo kako sve segmente možemo spojiti u jednu cjelinu. Kao projektni zadatak implementiramo HTTP protokol. Za početak kažemo nešto općenito o protokolu, a zatim implementiramo klijenta i poslužitelja koji komuniciraju koristeći HTTP protokol. In this paper we study how we can use the ASIO library for network programming. In the first chapter of this paper, we talk about network programming in general. We introduce the terminology that we will use in the paper. In addition, a layered structure is described, which is an indispensable part of an application that uses network programming. In the remaining chapters, we study the classes and functions provided by the ASIO library. We begin the study with sockets and studying how they enable data exchange. To be able to exchange data, we first need to connect the processes. After learning the main ways to connect sockets, we cover the methods and functions for sending and receiving messages. We divide methods and functions into synchronous and asynchronous and explain the advantages and disadvantages of each of these approaches. The work is mostly based on the TCP transport protocol because we will use it in the final chapter, i.e. in the creation of the project assignment. As the UDP protocol is also often used, we list the differences in the code with regard to which protocol is used. Finally, we show how all segments can be combined into one whole. As a project task, we implement the HTTP protocol. First, we say something general about the protocol, and then we implement a client and server that communicate using the HTTP protocol.

U ovom radu dan je uvod u sažimajuće očitavanje gdje su objašnjeni osnovni pojmovi, rezultati i neke najpoznatije primjene ovog aktualnog, brzo rastućeg područja matematike. Pokazano je kakvi uvjeti moraju biti zadovoljeni ako želimo računati egzaktno rješenje problema i zašto zapravo rijetko računamo egzaktno rješenje. Analizirane su dvije najzastpuljenije familije algoritama za aproksimiranje rješenja, dani su i neki konkretni primjeri algoritama te navedene neke njihove prednosti i nedostatci. Posebni naglasak stavljen je na algoritme Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP) i Prošireni Lagrangeov Multiplikator (PLM) koji su naknadno implementirani i čije perfromanse su uspoređene za problem prepoznavanja lica. Detaljnije je obrađena primjena sažimajućeg očitavanja u problemu klasifikacije, specifično u sustavima za prepoznavanje lica. Opisano je kako problem prepoznavanja lica postaviti kao klasični problem sažimajućeg očitavanja. Na kraju rada, opisana je aplikacija koja implementira sustav za prepoznavanje lica baziranom na sažimajućem očitavanju. Za treniranje i testiranje sustava korištena je extended Yale B baza podataka lica, a sama aplikacija napisana je u programskom jeziku Java koristeći biblioteku ND4J za brze matrične operacije. This paper gives an introduction to compressed sensing where the basic terms, results and some of the most famous applications of this rapidly growing field of mathematics are explained. It is shown which conditions must be met if we want to calculate the exact solution to the problem and why we rarely calculate the exact solution. The two most common families of algorithms for approximating solutions are analyzed, some specific examples of algorithms are given, and some of their advantages and disadvantages are listed. Special emphasis was placed on the Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP) and Augmented Lagrange Multiplier (ALM) algorithms, which were subsequently implemented and whose performances were compared for the face recognition problem. The application of compressed sensing in the problem of classification, specific to facial recognition systems, is treated in more detail. It is described how the problem of face recognition is posed as a classic problem of compressed sensing. At the end of the paper, an application that implements a face recognition system based on summarizing reading is described. The extended Yale B face database is used for training and testing the system, and the application itself is written in the Java programming language using the ND4J library for faster matrix operations.

Tema ovoga rada su jako konveksne funkcije. Rad je podijeljen na pet poglavlja. Prvo poglavlje sadrži osnovne pojmove i teoreme koje koristimo kroz rad. Dana je definicija, primjeri i osnovna svojstva konveksnih funkcija, a zatim su opisane operacije s konveksnim funkcijama. Na kraju prvog poglavlja dana je veza konveksnih funkcija s Jensenovom nejednakosti i Hermite-Hadamardovom nejednakosti koja je ujedno i karakterizacija konveksne funkcije. U drugom poglavlju uvodimo pojam jako konveksnih funkcija kao poopćenje konveksnih funkcija. Osnovna definicija jako konveksne funkcije glasi: Neka je \(I\subset\mathbb{}{R}\) interval i \(c\) pozitivan broj. Znamo da je funkcija \(f:I \rightarrow \mathbb{R}\) jako konveksna funkcija s modulom \(c\) ako vrijedi \( f(\lambda x+(1-\lambda)y)\leq \lambda f(x)+(1-\lambda)f(y)-c\lambda(1-\lambda)(x-y)^2,\) za svaki \(x,y \in I\) i \(\lambda\in [0,1] \). Također, u drugom poglavlju poopćavaju se neka svojstva konveksnih funkcija za jako konveksne funkcije. U trećem poglavlju navodimo i dokazujemo poopćenje Jensenove i Hermite-Hadamardove nejednakosti za jako konveksne funkcije te nekoliko teorema povezanih s Hermite-Hadamardovom nejednakosti. Četvrto poglavlje daje uvid u karakterizaciju unitarnog prostora pomoću jako konveksnih funkcija. U petom poglavlju dajemo poopćenje teorema separacije za jako konveksne funkcije. The topic of this paper is strongly convex functions. The paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter contains basic concepts and theorems that we use in paper. The definition, examples and description of basic properties of convex functions are given, and then the operations with convex functions are described. At the end of the first chapter there is a connection of convex functions with Jensen’s inequality and the Hermite-Hadamard inequality, which is also the characterization of convex functions. In the second chapter, we introduce the notion of strongly convex functions as a generalization of convex functions. Definition of convex function is: Let \(I\subset\mathbb{}{R}\) be an interval and \(c\) be a positive number. A function \(f:I \rightarrow \mathbb{R}\) is called strongly convex function with modulus \(c\) if \( f(\lambda x+(1-\lambda)y)\leq \lambda f(x)+(1-\lambda)f(y)-c\lambda(1-\lambda)(x-y)^2,\), for all \(x,y \in I\) and \(\lambda\in [0,1] \). Also, in the second chapter, some properties of convex functions are generalized for strongly convex functions. In the third chapter, we state and prove the generalization of the Jensen and Hermite-Hadamard inequalities for strongly convex functions and several theorems related to the Hermite-Hadamard inequality. The fourth chapter provides an insight into the characterization of the unitary space using strongly convex functions. In the fifth chapter, we give a generalization of the separation theorem for strongly convex functions.

U ovom radu opisuje se Bayesovsko zaključivanje za proporciju binomne razdiobe. U uvodnom poglavlju uvedeni su osnovni pojmovi iz vjerojatnosti i statistike koji su potrebni za izgradnju teorije na kojoj se temelji Bayesov teorem. Također, u sklopu prvog poglavlja iskazana je diskretna i neprekidna verzija Bayesova teorema te su navedene distribucije koje smo koristili. Uvode se i ključni pojmovi vezani za teorem: apriorna i aposteriorna distribucija. U drugom poglavlju opisuje se Bayesovsko zaključivanje za diskretne slučajne varijable - binomnu i Poissonovu. Prikazani primjeri predstavljaju primjenu teorema i vode do zaključka da podatke možemo analizirati istovremeno ili sekvencijalno te u oba slučaja doći do istih aposteriornih distribucija. Treće poglavlje predstavlja okosnicu ovog rada, Bayesovsko zaključivanje za proporciju binomne razdiobe. Opisani su načini odabira apriornih distribucija, a obrađene su uniformna i Beta apriorna distribucija. Uvodi se bitan pojam konjugirane familije distribucija te se pokazuje da je Beta familija konjugirana za podatke koji dolaze iz binomne raspodjele. Objašnjeno je kako donijeti zaključke o aposteriornim distribucijama. Također, uvode se Bayesovski intervali vjerodostojnosti. U četvrtom poglavlju uspoređujemo Bayesovske i frekvencionističke zaključke o parametru do kojih dolazimo točkovnom procjenom, procjenom intervala i testiranjem hipoteza. Razmatra se razlika u interpretaciji parametra, definiraju se procjenitelji, uspoređuju se intervali vjerodostojnosti i pouzdanosti te se promatraju jednostrane i dvostrane hipoteze s oba stajališta. U posljednjem poglavlju nalaze se zadaci na kojima su primjenjene proučene metode. Zadaci su riješeni uz pomoć programskog jezika R, a kodovi su priloženi na kraju rada. This paper describes Bayesian inference for a proportion of the binomial distribution. In the introductory chapter we introduce the basic concepts from probability and statistics that are needed to build the theory on which Bayes theorem is based. Also, in the first chapter, discrete and continuous versions of Bayes theorem are presented, along with the distributions we used. Key concepts related to the theorem are also introduced: a prior and a posterior distributions. The second chapter describes Bayesian inference for discrete random variables, binomial and Poisson. The presented examples represent the application of the theorem and lead to the conclusion that we can analyze the data simultaneously or sequentially and in both cases arrive at the same posterior distributions. The third chapter presents the backbone of this paper, Bayesian inference for a proportion of the binomial distribution. This chapter describes ways of selecting a prior distributions, and the uniform and Beta prior distributions are processed. The important notion of the conjugate family of distributions is introduced and it is shown that the Beta family is conjugate for data coming from the binomial distribution. It is explained how to draw conclusions about posterior distributions. Also, Bayesian credibility intervals are introduced. In the fourth chapter, we compare Bayesian and frequentist conclusions about the parameter that we reach by point estimation, interval estimation and hypothesis testing. The difference in parameter interpretation is considered, estimators are defined, credibility and confidence intervals are compared, and one-side and and two-side hypotheses are observed from both points of view. In the last chapter, there are problems to which the studied methods were applied. Problems were solved using the programming language R, and the codes are attached at the end of the paper.

U ovom diplomskom radu bavimo se kombinatornim dokazima u nastavi matematike. Na početku rada ukratko smo iznijeli povijesni razvoj dokaza. U drugom dijelu rada naveli smo svrhu i potrebu za dokazima unutar nastave matematike; najprije iz učeničke perspektive, zatim iz perspektive nastavnika. Zatim smo pobliže objasnili navedene perspektive prateći razna istraživanja i znanstvene radove. U posljednjem, trećem dijelu rada smo promatrali kombinatorne dokaze u srednjoj školi. Najprije smo definirali što je to kombinatorni dokaz nakon čega smo pokazali neke kombinatorne metode dokazivanja. Potom smo za svaki razred srednje škole s 3 ili 4 sata matematike tjedno, prateći kurikulum, pokazali cjeline i primjere zadataka u kojima možemo primjenjivati kombinatorne dokaze. In this thesis we deal with combinatorial proofs in mathematics education. At the beginning of the thesis, we briefly outlined the historical development of proof. In the second part of the paper, we stated the purpose and need for proof within mathematics teaching; first from the student’s perspective, then from the teacher’s perspective. After this, we explained these perspectives in more detail, following various researches and scientific papers. In the last, third part of the paper, we considered combinatorial proofs in high school teaching. We first defined the notion of combinatorial proof, after which we showed some combinatorial methods of provingproof methods. Then, for each grade of high school with 3 or 4 hours of mathematics per week, following the curriculum, we demonstrated areas and examples of mathematical problems and excercises in which we can apply combinatorial proof.

U ovom radu opisujemo IP, klasu problema rješivih u polinomnom vremenu koristeći sustave interaktivnih dokaza. Sustavi interaktivnih dokaza koriste interakciju dva stroja, dokazivača i verifikatora, za odlučivanje pripadnosti neke riječi nekom formalnom jeziku. Dokazivač je stroj s neograničenim vremenskim i memorijskim računskim mogućnostima, dok je verifikator Turingov stroj kojem dodatno omogućavamo generiranje slučajnih bitova. Dokazivač pokušava uvjeriti verifikatora u pripadnost riječi jeziku, dok verifikator pokušava provjeriti istinitost te tvrdnje. Za razliku od mnogih drugih klasa, dopuštamo verifikatoru malu mogućnost pogreške. Omogućavanje generiranja slučajnih bitova i dopuštanje pogrešaka možda ne izgleda značajno, ali ispostavlja se da je klasa IP ekvivalentna klasi PSPACE, što i dokazujemo u ovom radu. Razmatramo i varijantu interaktivnih dokaza u kojoj su verifikatorovi slučajno generirani bitovi javno dostupni. U posljednjem poglavlju navodimo neke primjene interaktivnih dokaza u kriptografiji. In this paper, we present IP, the class of problems solvable in polynomial time using interactive proof systems. Interactive proof systems use the interaction of two machines, a prover and a verifier, to check if some word is in some formal language. The prover is a machine with unlimited computing power, while the verifier is a Turing machine which can generate random bits. The prover’s task is to convince the verifier that the word is indeed in the language, while the verifier’s task is to check the truthfulness of that claim. We allow a small chance of the verifier failing in its task. Enabling random bit generation and allowing mistakes might look insignificant, but it turns out that the class IP is equivalent to the class PSPACE, which we prove in this paper. We also consider a variant of interactive proofs in which the verifier’s randomly generated bits are publicly available to the prover. In the final chapter, we mention some applications of interactive proofs in cryptography.

Jedan od klasičnih rezultata elementarne teorije brojeva je Fermatov teorem da se svaki prost broj može prikazati kao zbroj dva cjelobrojna kvadrata. Iako se teorem pripisuje Fermatu, tvrdnju je još ranije iskazao Girard, bez dokaza. Nije utvrđeno ni postojanje Fermatovog dokaza te prvi pouzdani dokaz potječe od Eulera. Kasnije su brojni matematičari objavili različite nove dokaze, a glavni je cilj ovog rada prikazati neke od tih dokaza koji su se pojavili u novije vrijeme. U radu je prvo ponuđena verzija dokaza koja se može smatrati klasičnom i pristupačnom, a nakon toga slijede dokazi za koje je potrebno pristup nadograditi daljnjim pojmovima i idejama . Od modernijih dokaza prikazan je onaj Zagierov, poznat kao ”dokaz u jednoj rečenici“. Taj je inspiriran Heath-Brownovim dokazom pa je izložena i njegova ideja. Nadalje, uvršteno je objašnjenje Zagierova dokaza koje je dao Elsholtz, u želji da široj publici pojednostavi i protumači dokaz, sa svim potrebnim provjerama koje su izostavljene u Zagierovu krajnje sažetom članku. Zanimljiva je i geometrijska interpretacija kojom se vizualno vjetrenjačama dočarava Zagierov pristup. U radu je objašnjeno i kako sam dokaz učiniti konstruktivnim, a zatim i Elsholtzova kratka varijanta dokaza Zagierom. Na kraju rada predstavljen je potpuno drugačiji pristup A. D. Christophera koji koristi teoriju particija. One of the classic results of elementary number theory is Fermat’s theorem that every prime number p ≡ 1(mod 4) can be represented as the sum of two integer squares. Although the theorem is attributed to Fermat, Girard made the claim even earlier, without proof. The existence of Fermat’s proof has not been confirmed, and the first reliable evidence originates from Euler. Later, a number of mathematicians published various new proofs, and the primary objective of this paper is to present some of these proofs that have emerged in recent times. The paper first offers a version of the proof that can be considered classic and accessible, followed by proof for which the approach needs to be upgraded with further concepts and ideas. Of the modern proofs, Zagier’s proof is presented, also known as the ”one-sentence proof“. The proof from Heath-Brown inspired him, so this idea is also shown. Furthermore, an explanation of Zagier’s proof provided by Elsholtz is included, in an aspiration to simplify and interpret the proof to a wider audience, with all the necessary analysis omitted in Zagier’s extremely concise article. A geometric interpretation is also interesting, as it visually evokes Zagier’s approach using polygons with shapes reminiscent of windmills. It is also explained how to make the proof itself constructive, and furthermore Elsholtz’s short version of the proof is presented. At the end of the paper, a completely different approach of A. D. Christopher using partition theory is presented.

U ovom radu analizirali smo reološke i kemijske osobine ploda masline u ovisnosti o sorti i zrelosti ploda analizom varijance ponovljenih mjerenja s interakcijom izmedu sorte i zrelosti ploda. Analizirali smo elastičnost i tvrdoću kao reološka svojstva te suhu tvar kao kemijsko svojstvo ploda. Promatrali smo četiri sorte: oblica, leccino, lastovka i coratina te tri roka berbe koji su odredeni prema obojenosti ploda masline tijekom dozrijevanja. Podaci koje smo obradivali prikupljeni su za projekt ”Analiza teksturnog profila kao čimbenik preradbenih značajki i vrednovanja bioraznolikosti autohtonih sorti maslina” Instituta za Jadranske kulture i melioraciju krša u Splitu tijekom rujna i listopada 2019. godine u masliniku OPG-a Jagoda Alfirević u Kaštel Sućurcu. Naglasak rada bio je na praktičnoj primjeni analize varijance ponovljenih mjerenja te na interpretaciji rezultata dobivenih korištenjem glm procedure u statističkom programu SAS. Prije praktične primjene, u prvom poglavlju objašnjeni su statistički pojmovi koje smo koristili u nastavku rada. Za sve tri zavisne varijable (elastičnost, tvrdoća i suha tvar ploda) postoji statistički značajna razlika medu sortama u svakom od tri roka berbe. Kod elastičnosti ploda, u prvom i trećem roku berbe statistički značajnu razliku medu sortama čini lastovka obzirom na preostale tri promatrane sorte, dok u drugom roku berbe statistički značajnu razliku medu sortama čini lastovka obzirom na oblicu i leccino. Što se tiče tvrdoće ploda, u prvom i trećem roku berbe statistički značajnu razliku medu sortama čini sorta leccino obzirom na lastovku i oblicu, dok u drugom roku berbe statistički značajnu razliku medu sortama čini leccino obzirom na preostale tri promatrane sorte. Kod suhe tvari ploda, u prvom roku berbe statistički značajnu razliku medu sortama čini oblica obzirom na lastovku i leccino, u drugom roku berbe razlika izmedu svakog para sorti statistički je značajna, dok u trećem roku berbe statistički značajnu razliku medu sortama čini coratina obzirom na preostale tri promatrane sorte. Nadalje, postoji statistički značajna razlika u elastičnosti i tvrdoći ploda medu sortama, a ne postoji statistički značajna razlika izmedu rokova berbe te interakcija ”rok berbe*sorta” nije statistički značajna. Na kraju, zaključili smo da postoji statistički značajna razlika u suhoj tvari ploda medu sortama te da postoji statistički značajna razlika izmedu rokova berbe i interakcija ”rok berbe*sorta” statistički je značajna. In this paper we have analysed the rheological and chemical properties of olive fruit depending on the cultivar and fruit maturity by using the repeated measures analysis of variance with the interaction between cultivar and fruit maturity. Springiness and hardness as rheological properties as well as dry matter as a chemical property of the fruit were examined. We observed four cultivars: ’Oblica’, ’Leccino’, ’Lastovka’ and ’Coratina’, and three harvest periods that were determined by the colour of the olive fruit during ripening. The data we processed were collected as a part of the project ”Analysis of textural profile as a factor in processing characteristics and evaluation of biodiversity of autochthonous olive cultivars” conducted by the Institute for Adriatic Crops and Karst Reclamation in Split during September and October 2019 in the olive orchard Jagoda Alfirević in Kaštel Sućurac. The emphasis of the paper was on the practical application of the repeated measures analysis of variance and the interpretation of the results obtained using the glm procedure in SAS. Before practical application, the first chapter explains the statistical concepts that we used in the following chapter. For all three dependant variables (fruit springiness, hardness and dry matter) there is a statistically significant difference between cultivars in each of the three harvest periods. In terms of fruit springiness, in the first and third harvest period a statistically significant difference between cultivars is found at ’Lastovka’ with regard to the remaining three observed cultivars, while in the second harvest period a statistically significant difference between cultivars is detected at ’Lastovka’ with regard to ’Oblica’ and ’Leccino’. As for fruit hardness, in the first and third harvest period a statistically significant difference between cultivars is detected at the cultivar ’Leccino’ with regard to ’Lastovka’ and ’Oblica’, while in the second harvest period a statistically significant difference between cultivars is found at ’Leccino’ with regard to the remaining three observed cultivars. In the case of fruit dry matter, in the first harvest period a statistically significant difference between cultivars is made by ’Oblica’ with regard to ’Lastovka’ and ’Leccino’, in the second harvest period there is a statistically significant difference between every pair of cultivars, while in the third harvest period there is a statistically significant difference between ’Coratina’ and remaining three observed cultivars. Furthermore, there is a statistically significant difference in fruit springiness and hardness between cultivars, however there is no statistically significant difference between harvest periods and the interaction ”harvest period*cultivar” is not statistically significant. Finally, it was concluded that both difference in fruit dry matter between cultivars and a difference in harvest periods were found to be statistically significant, as well as the interaction ”harvest period*cultivar”.

Ovaj rad obrađuje Bayesovske metode za donošenje zaključaka o razlici očekivanja dvaju normalnih razdioba. U uvodnom poglavlju navedeni su osnovni statistički i vjerojatnosni pojmovi korišteni u nastavku rada. Također, u sklopu istog poglavlja dan je iskaz i dokaz diskretne verzije Bayesovog teorema, na čijem se konceptu temelji cjelokupna Bayesovska statistika, te motivacija za ključne pojmove poput apriorne i aposteriorne distribucije. Drugo poglavlje rada posvećeno je samoj Bayesovoj koncepciji i načinu na koje ona funkcionira. Poglavlje je započeto prirodnim proširenjem diskretne verzije Bayesovog teorema na neprekidnu verziju, a zatim su detaljnije opisani i proučeni pojmovi apriornih i aposteriornih distribucija, te funkcija vjerodostojnosti. Kraj poglavlja detaljno opisuje neke od najčešćih odabira apriornih distribucija te razrađuje proces samog zaključivanja kada se radi o jednoj populaciji iz normalne razdiobe, odnosno jednom parametru očekivanja. U trećem poglavlju, uz pomoć nekoliko dodatnih rezultata iz teorije vjerojatnosti, sistematično proširujemo prethodno obrađenu koncepciju na dva uzorka iz dvaju normalnih distribucija, u ovisnosti o tome jesu li varijance uzoraka jednake ili različite, te jesu li one poznate ili ne. Nadalje, po uzoru na analizu za razliku očekivanja, ilustrativno je prikazana i analiza razlike dvaju proporcija nekog svojstva u dvama populacijama. Poglavlje je završeno metodom uparivanja dvaju uzoraka, koje se vrlo jednostavno svodi na analizu jedne populacije, opisanu u prethodnom poglavlju. U posljednjem poglavlju dan je niz zadataka na kojima primjenjujemo svaku od proučenih metoda, a koji su potom riješeni pomoću programskog jezika R, uz priloženi kod na kraju samoga rada. This paper describes various methods of Bayesian inference for difference between normal means. The first chapter consists of listing various definitions and basic concepts from statistics and probability theory, which we use throughout the paper. We also introduce discrete version of Bayes theorem, together with some key terms such as a priori and posteriori distributions, which are all essential for further analysis of Bayesian statistics. The second chapter further describes the concepts and ideas of Bayesian statistics. First, we introduce continuous version of Bayes theorem and then study the concepts of likelihood functions and a priori and posteriori distributions more thoroughly. At the end of this chapter we discuss some of the most common picks for a priori distributions and develop the method of Bayesian inference for a normal mean from a single normal population. In the third chapter, with the help of several additional results from probability theory, we systematically expand previously studied concepts to two samples from two normal distributions, depending on whether the sample variances are the same or different, and whether they are known or not. Furthermore, we show and illustrate similar ideas of Bayesian inferences for the difference between two proportions and for paired samples from two normal populations. In the final chapter, we apply all of those methods on selected problems with the help of statistical programming language R.

Ovaj se diplomski rad bavi \(p\)-adskim brojevima i pruža svojevrstan uvod u \(p\)-adsku analizu. Cilj mu je definirati polje p-adskih brojeva \(\mathbb{Q}_p\) te postaviti temelje za usustavljivanje \(p\)-adskog analogona skupa kompleksnih brojeva \(\mathbb{C}\). Rad je podijeljen u tri poglavlja. Prvom poglavlje započinjemo prisjećanjem na pojmove polja, metrike, norme i metričkih prostora. Zatim uvodimo novu vrstu udaljenosti kojom ćemo se baviti kroz ostatak rada - \(p\)-adsku udaljenost. Također razlikujemo norme s obzirom na to jesu li arhimedske ili nearhimedske. Definiramo ekvivalentne norme i metrike i dokazujemo razna njihova svojstva te spominjemo teorem Ostrowskog. Potom se prisjećamo konstrukcije kompleksnih brojeva te na sličan način konstruiramo polje \(p\)-adskih brojeva \(\mathbb{Q}_p\). U ostatku poglavlja proučavamo njegovu aritmetiku i dokazujemo važnu Henselovu lemu. U drugom poglavlju proučavamo Riemannovu \(\zeta\) funkciju i njenu \(p\) -adsku interpolaciju. Započinjemo definiranjem Bernoullijevih brojeva \(B_k\) koji se javljaju u formuli za \(\zeta(2k)\) koju potom dokazujemo. Nadalje, promatramo topologiju na \(\mathbb{Q}_p\) te uvodimo kompaktno-otvorene skupove i lokalno konstantne funkcije. Njih zatim koristimo u definiciji \(p\)-adskih distribucija te navodimo nekoliko primjera istih. Dotičemo se i Bernoullijevih polinoma \(B_k(x) \) i Bernoullijevih distribucija, te uvodimo mjere i integraciju u \(\mathbb{Q}_p\). Koristeći uvedene distribucije i izraze za \(\zeta(2k)\), definiramo \(p\) -adske interpolacije \(\zeta\)-funkcije. U trećem poglavlju govorimo o gama funkciji. Dajemo njenu definiciju i dokaz njenih osnovnih svojstava. Pritom se prisjećamo nekih pojmova iz područja kompleksne analize poput analitičkih funkcija, polova i reziduuma. Poglavlje završavamo upotrebom gama funkcije pri dokazivanju formule za razvoj hiperbolnog sinusa u beskonačni produkt koja se bila spominjala u drugom poglavlju. This thesis focuses on \(p\)-adic numbers and provides a sort of an introduction to the \(p\)-adic analysis. Its main goal is to define the field of \(p\)-adic numbers \(\mathbb{Q}_p\) and lay the foundation for introduction of the \(p\)-adic analogue of the set of complex numbers \(\mathbb{C}\). The paper is divided into three chapters. We begin the first chapter by recalling the concepts of fields, metrics, norms, and metric spaces. Then we introduce a new type of distance that we will deal with throughout the rest of the paper, namely \(p\)-adic distance. We also distinguish norms depending on whether they are Archimedean or non-Archimedean. We define equivalent norms and metrics, prove their various properties and mention the Ostrowski theorem. Then we recall the construction of complex numbers and in a similar way we construct the field of \(p\)-adic numbers \(\mathbb{Q}_p\). In the rest of the chapter we study its arithmetic and prove the important Hensel lemma. In the second chapter we study the Riemann \(\zeta\) function and its \(p\)-adic interpolation. We start by defining the Bernoulli numbers \(B_k\) that appear in the formula for\(\zeta(2k)\), which we then prove. Furthermore, we observe the topology on \(\mathbb{Q}_p\) and introduce compactopen sets and locally constant functions. We then use them in the definition of \(p\)-adic distributions and give a few examples. We also touch on Bernoulli polynomials \(B_k(x) \) and Bernoulli distributions, and introduce measures and integration in \(\mathbb{Q}_p\). Using the introduced distributions and expressions for \(\zeta(2k)\), we define \(p\)-adic interpolations of the \(\zeta\)-function. In the third chapter we talk about the gamma function. We give its definition and proof of its basic properties. In doing so, we recall some concepts from the field of complex analysis such as analytical functions, poles and residues. We conclude the chapter by using the gamma function in proving the infinite product identity for hyperbolic sine that was mentioned in the second chapter.

Cilj ovog rada bio je, kao što i sam naslov kaže, stohastički uokviriti dobro poznati algoritam metode ulančanih ljestvica i to kroz prizmu dva modela: Model ulančanih ljestvica bez pretpostavljene distribucije; Raspršeni Poissonov model. Naime, sam algoritam je deterministički proces koji ne pruža nikakve informacije o pouzdanosti rezultata. Zbog toga ga je potrebno detaljnije opisati matematičkim rječnikom kako bi se kvantificirala pripadna neizvjesnost. Prvi model prirodni je nastavak algoritma, koji stohastički prati njegovu osnovnu logiku. Njime se postepeno gradi put ka vremenskim nizovima pomoću kojih ćemo izmjeriti varijabilnosti uz sve nužne pretpostavke kao što je nezavisnost godina nastanka. Drugi model počiva na pretpostavci da su podaci distribuirani raspršenom Poissonovom distribucijom što je potpuno drugačiji pogled nego u Modelu ulančanih ljestvica. U pozadini pristupa je zapravo teorija generaliziranih linearnih modela uz ograničenje na Poissonovu distribuciju iz familije eksponencijalnih. Ovi modeli izabrani su za stohastički okvir zbog toga što daju identične očekivane pričuve šteta pri čemu se razlikuju u iznosu varijabilnosti odnosno razlikuju se u drugim i višim momentima. To je posljedica pretpostavki na kojima su izgrađeni. Također, oba imaju prirodnu podlogu za bootstrap metodu koja nam pruža dodatnu vrlo vrijednu informaciju - distribuciju pričuva šteta. Kako bi rezultati svih metoda bili usporedivi, za mjeru varijabilnosti korištena je uvjetna srednjekvadratna pogreška. U drugom dijelu rada izabran je skup podataka na kojem su primijenjene sve 4 metode: Model ulančanih ljestvica bez pretpostavljene distribucije, Raspršeni Poissonov model, Bootstrap metoda modela ulančanih ljestvica bez pretpostavljene distribucije i Bootstrap metoda raspršenog Poissonovog modela. Modeli su obradeni kroz nekoliko koraka počevši sa grafičkom analizom reziduala preko testiranja pretpostavki do zadnjeg dijela a to je prezentiranje i usporedba rezultata. The aim of this paper was to make stochastic framework of well-known chain ladder algorithm through these two models: Chain ladder model without distributional assumption; Overdispersed Poisson model. Chain ladder algorithm is deterministic process that does not provide any information about the reliability of the results. Because of that, it is necessary to describe it more detailed in terms of mathematical theory to achieve quantification of uncertainty. First model is natural extension of algorithm because it follows its logic through stochastic modelling. It is gradually built up to time series model which will help us measure variability with all assumptions needed for that, such as independence of accident year. Second model is based on assumption that all incremental claims have overdispersed Poisson distribution which is completely different view than the Chain ladder model. In the background of this approach is the theory of generalized linear models with a restriction on the Poisson distribution from the exponential family. These models were chosen for stochastic framework because they produce identical expected claim reserve with different variability, more precisely with different second and higher moments. This is consequence of the assumptions they are built on. Also, both are suitable for extension with bootstrap method which provides us additional valuable information - the distribution of claim reserves. To make all the results comparable, we used mean square error of prediction as a measure of variability . In the second part of paper specific data set was chosen on which all 4 models were applied: Chain ladder model without distributional assumption, Overdispersed Poisson model, Bootstrap method based on chain ladder model, Bootstrap method based on overdispersed Poisson model. The models were broke down through few stages beginning with graphical analysis of the residuals through testing specific assumptions to the last part which is presentation and comparison of the results.

U ovom radu opisan je Parrondov paradoks i njegova dinamička inačica. U prvom dijelu konstruiramo Parrondove igre. Ponašanje kapitala uzastopnim igranjem igara modelirano je pomoću slučajnih šetnji na slučajnom okruženju. Poštenost igre definirana je pomoću graničnog ponašanja kapitala. Pokazano je da je moguće konstruirati dvije gubitničke igre za koje je mješovita igra tih igara dobitna. Dodatno, pokazujemo uz koje je uvjete moguće postići Parrondov paradoks. U drugom dijelu definiran je Parrondov pardoks u kontekstu dinamičkih sustava, na način da na privlačne odnosno odbojne fiksne točke gledamo kao na gubitne odnosno dobitne igre. Pokazano je da u slučaju kada je \(\mathcal{C}\) klasa funkcija sa zajedničkom hiperboličnom fiksnom točkom nije moguće postići Parrondov paradoks. U glavnom dijelu rada pokazano je da se dinamički Parrondov paradoks može ostvariti kada je \(\mathcal{C}\) klasa homeomorfnih preslikavanja na \(\mathbb{R}^k\to\mathbb{R}^k\) za \(k\geq2\), dok za \(k=1\)nije moguće ostvariti paradoks. This paper describes Parrondo’s paradox and its dynamic version. In the first part of the paper, we construct Parrondo’s games. The behavior of capital is modeled by successively playing games using random walks in a random environment. We define the fairness of the game by the marginal behavior of capital. We show that it is possible to construct two losing games for which the mixed game is a winning game. In addition, we show under which conditions Parrondo’s paradox is achievable. In the second part of the paper, we define Parrondo’s paradox in the context of dynamic systems by looking at attractive or repellent fixed points as losing or winning games. We also show that when there is a class of functions \(\mathcal{C}\) with a common hyperbolic fixed point, it is not possible to carry out Parrondo’s paradox. In the central part of the paper, we show that the dynamic Parrondo’s paradox is realized when \(\mathcal{C}\) is the class of homeomorphisms on \(\mathbb{R}^k\to\mathbb{R}^k\) for \(k\geq2\). On the contrary, paradox does not appear when \(k=1\).

U ovom diplomskom radu prvo opisujemo razvoj društvenih igara tijekom povijesti. Prikazani su primjeri prvih igraćih ploča i komponenata, razne zanimljivosti te su uvedeni termini tipova igara. Prikazujemo povijesni razvoj modernih društvenih igara predvođenih euroigrama poput Catana, jedne od igara koja je u drugom dijelu rada odabrana kao temelj za razna otvorena pitanja koja potiču matematička istraživanja. U glavnom dijelu rada izdvajamo odabrane moderne društvene igre primjenjive u nastavi matematike: ”Backgammon”, ”City of Zombies”, ”Bohnanza”, ”Love Letter”, ”Hanabi”, ”Catan”, ”SET”. Navodimo njihova pravila i tijek igranja, a zatim analiziramo kako bi se pojedina igra ili njeni elementi mogli koristiti u radu s učenicima. U analizi navedenih igara susrećemo i opisujemo sljedeće matematičke teme: aritmetiku, osnove vjerojatnosti i kombinatorike, logičko zaključivanje. This thesis begins with the description of the development of board games throughout history. We mention examples of first game boards and components, a variety of interesting facts, and we introduce board game types. We present the historical development of modern board games led by Eurogames like Catan, one of the games that features in the second part of the paper as a basis for various open-ended questions which encourage mathematical research. In the main part of the paper, we present a selection of modern tabletop games applicable in teaching of mathematics: ”Backgammon”, ”City of Zombies”, ”Bohnanza”, ”Love Letter”, ”Hanabi”, ”Catan”, ”SET”. We state their rules and the course of play, and then analyze how a particular game or its elements could be used in working with students. In the analysis of these games we describe the following mathematical contents: arithmetics, basic probability and combinatorics, and logical reasoning.

Pojam ovisnost uređaja ili uređaj zavisnosti \(\prec\) između vektora rizika način je na koji možemo uspoređivati vektore rizika u smislu da možemo reći \( X\prec Y \). U \(\mathbb{R}^2\) uređaj zavisnosti je konzistentan s koeficijentima korelacije, Pearsonov \(\varrho_p\), Spearmanov \(\varrho_s\) i Kendallov \(\tau\). U ovom radu diskutiramo o dva načina na koja se mogu uspoređivati vektori rizika, odnosno portfelja. Jedan način je pozitivna zavisnost, odnosno vektor X rizičniji je od vektora Y ako ima jaču pozitivnu zavisnost komponenti. Pozitivnu zavisnost usporedili smo na slučajnim vektorima iz iste Fréchetove klase, odnosno vektorima koji imaju iste marginalne distribucije. Definirali smo neke od uređaja zavisnosti. Kroz usporedbu vrijednosti funkcije distribucije slučajnog vektora po točkama definirali smo ortantni uređaj, a pozitivnu zavisnost opisali i stohastičkim uređajem. U kontekstu ovog uredaja se jačina pozitivne zavisnosti po komponentama slučajnog vektora X definira kao očekivanje \(\mathbb{E}\) [ \( f\) (X)], gdje je funkcija \( f\) takva da očekivanje postoji. U kontekstu ovog rada to očekivanje se interpretira kao mjera rizika u smislu uređaja, odnosno za vektore rizika X i Y možemo reći da je Y rizičniji od X ako Y ima veće očekivanje. Restrikcijom klase funkcija \( f\) na \(\Delta\) -monotone te supermodularne definirali smo uređaje generirane klasom funckija, \(\Delta\) -monoton i supermodularni uređaj. Uređaji definirani na ovaj način su uređaji zavisnosti. U praksi je lakše provjeriti pripada li funckija definiranim klasama te na taj način usporediti rizik vektora rizika, odnosno portfelja. Drugi način diskusije rizičnosti vektora rizika je konveksnost marginalnih distribucija. Restrikcijom klase funkcija \( f\) na konveksne funckije definirali smo konveksni uređaj, analogno za rastuće konveksne funkcije definirali smo i rastući konveksni uređaj. Ako konveksne uređaje restringiramo na vektore rizika u istoj Fréchetovoj klasi, komonotoni vektor je najrizičniji vektor u smislu konveksnog uređaja. Diskusijom rizičnosti funkcijskih modela pokazano je da je usmjereni konveksni uređaj, generiran klasom usmjerenih konveksnih funkcija koje su supermodularne i konveksne po komponentama, dobro definiran i primijenjiv u širokoj klasi modela. Poopćenjem funkcijskih modela na modele s multivarijatnim marginalima pokazano je da, za razliku od modela s jednodimenzionalnim marginalima, ne postoji jedinstven vektor koji generira najveći rizik. Dependence ordering \(\prec\) for risk vectors allows us to infer conclusion of the type \( X\prec Y \). Considering risk vectors in \(\mathbb{R}^2\) dependence ordering is consistent with correlation coefficients, Pearson’s \(\varrho_p\), Spearman’s \(\varrho_s\), and Kendall’s \(\tau\). The main notion of this paper is to define and discuss two different ways of comparing risk vectors and portfolios. The first one is increase of positive dependence, risk vector Y bears more risk than risk vector X if Y is stronger positive dependent than X. We will describe positive dependence of risk vectors within the same Fréchet class, risk vectors that have identical marginals. There are several dependence orderings. The first defined was the orthant ordering which is defined as comparison of distribution functions by points. Considering the stochastic integral ordering the positive dependence is described as expectation of risk vector X, \(\mathbb{E}\) [ \( f\) (X)], for function \( f\) such that expectations exists. In this paper the defined expectation is comparable to risk measure since if expectation of risk vector X is less that Y, risk vector Y bears more risk than X. By defining \(\Delta\) -monotonic and supermodular functions we introduce corresponding orderings, \(\Delta\) -monotonic and supermodular ordering, which are generated by class of functions. Ordering defined by class of functions are dependence orderings. In practice it relatively easy to verify properties of functions defined in this way and consequently compare risk vectors and portfolios in terms of positive dependence. The second one is convex increase of marginals. By defining class of convex functions we introduced convex ordering, similarly we define increasing convex ordering. If we restrict risk vectors to the same Fréchet class then comonotonic vector is the worst case joint portfolio, generates the greatest risk. By discussing functional models we note that directionally convex ordering, defined by class of directionally convex functions which are supermodular and convex in each component, as comparison result concerns a large class of models. When considering models with multivariate marginals we conclude that there is not any general worst case vector for portfolio, like there is with models with one-dimensional marginals.

U ovome je radu prikazan kratak povijesni pregled razvoja brojevnih sustava - od pramatematike preko Egipta, Mezopotamije, Grčke, Rima, Indije, Kine i Arapa do brojevnih sustava koji se danas koriste u računalima. Svakom je brojevnom sustavu posvećeno jedno poglavlje u kojem je dan povijesni kontekst te su navedene osnovne značajke uz poneki primjer računanja ili zanimljivost. U zasebnom su poglavlju proučavane i glagoljske brojke koje su koristili Hrvati od 9. st. Kako bi se lakše shvatio razvoj brojevnih sustava, na početku rada su predstavljene i objašnjene osnovne tvrdnje o brojevnim sustavima. This paper presents a brief historical overview of the development of numeral systems - from pre-mathematics through Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, Rome, India, China and the Arabs to numeral systems used in computers today. Each chapter is dedicated to one numeral system in which is given the historical context and the basic features, with some examples of calculation or interesting facts. In a separate chapter Glagolitic numerals used by Croats from the 9th century were also studied. In order to better understand the development of numeral systems, the basic statements about numeral systems are presented and explained at the beginning of the paper.

Generalizacija i analogija dva su pojma koja su usko povezana. U matematici analogija i generalizacija prvenstveno imaju ulogu u otkrivanju novih matematičkih znanja. Ako uočimo neku pravilnost, možemo generalizirati općenito na sve, međutim to ne znači da će te tvrdnje biti uvijek istinite. Neke tvrdnje slijede iz već prethodno dokazanih pa analogijom dokazujemo slične tvrdnje. U ovom radu proučavali smo geometrijske tvrdnje koje imaju analogne tvrdnje i njih smo dokazivali. U prvom dijelu rada opisali smo neka svojstva trokuta i ta svojstva proširili na analogon trokutu u stereometriji koji je tetraedar. Osim trokuta proučavali smo i neka svojstva četverokuta koja smo opisali u drugom dijelu rada. Generalization and analogy are two concepts which are closely related. In mathematics, they are being used to shorten the process of proof. It is not always necessary to prove everything. If we notice some regularities, we can generalize them in several directions, however this does not mean that these claims will always be true. Some claims follow from previously proven, so by analogy we prove similar claims. In this paper we studied geometric statements that have analogue statements and we have proven them. In the first part of the paper we described some properties of the triangle and extended these properties to the analogue of a triangle in the stereometry that is a tetrahedron. In addition to the triangle, we studied some of the properties of the quadrangle that we described in the second part of the work.

U ovom diplomskom radu obrađuje se aproksimacija i interpolacija funkcije. Aproksimacija označava postupak nalaženja funkcije koja će opisati neki konačan skup točaka ili neku drugu funkciju s najmanjim odstupanjem, a interpolacija je zahtjev da se vrijednosti nekih dviju funkcija podudaraju na nekom konačnom skupu točaka. Razmatra se opći problem aproksimacije, kriterij aproksimacije i interpolacija polinomima. Interpolacija polinomima obrađuje se kroz Lagrangeov i Newtonov oblik interpolacijskog polinoma uz koje se navode primjeri i algoritmi napisani u programskom jeziku C. Sadržaj se proširuje uz obradu Hermiteove interpolacije gdje u svakom čvoru, osim funkcijske vrijednosti, interpoliramo i vrijednost derivacije. Kod nekih funkcija, povećavanje stupnja interpolacijskog polinoma može dovesti do povećanja grešaka, te se umjesto visokog stupnja interpolacijskog polinoma koristi po dijelovima polinomna interpolacija. Za kraj se obrađuje metoda najmanjih kvadrata pomoću koje možemo zadanu funkciju aproksimirati drugom funkcijom globalno za razliku od Lagrangeovog polinoma koji dobro aproksimira funkciju lokalno u izabranim točkama. In this paper we deal with the approximation and interpolation of a function. Approximation involves determining the function that will best describe a given data set or other function with the smallest deviation, and interpolation is the requirement that the values of some two functions match at some finite set of points. The general problem of approximation, the criterion of approximation and the interpolation of polynomials are considered further in this paper. Interpolation by polynomials is made through Lagrange’s and Newton’s form of interpolation polynomial with examples and algorithms written in the programming language C. The content is expanded with Hermite interpolation, where in each node, we also interpolate the derivation value. For some functions, increasing the degree of the polynomial interpolant, can lead to an increase of errors and instead of interpolation by polynomials with high degree, we can use interpolation by piecewise polynomials. In the end of the paper we deal with the method of least squares. With this method we can approximate a given function by another function globally in contrast to the Lagrange polynomial, which well approximates the function locally at selected points.

In 1978, Mazur proved his famous theorem on possible torsion subgroups of elliptic curves defined over the field of rational numbers [32]. In the 1990s, a similar result was proved by Kamienny, Kenku and Momose [20,26], which says what are the possible torsion subgroups of all elliptic curves over all quadratic fields. However, that result tells us little about possible torsion subgroups if we fix a quadratic field. In Chapter 6, which is based on the author’s paper [47], we describe methods that we can use to determine all possible groups that can appear as torsion subgroups of elliptic curves if we fix a quadratic field. Furthermore, we give the classification of torsion subgroups of elliptic curves over quadratic fields \(\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d})\), where \(0 < d < 100\) is squarefree. Those results can be found in Table 6.1. We obtained a complete classification for 49 out of 60 such fields. Over the remaining 11 quadratic fields, we could not rule out the possibility of the group \(\mathbb{Z}/16\mathbb{Z}\) appearing as the torsion group of an elliptic curve. Except for the question about determining possible torsion subgroups of elliptic curves over number fields of certain degree, in this thesis we will also be interested in the inverse question, i.e. if we have a given group \(T\) and a positive integer \(d\), what are we able to say about number fields of degree \(d\) over which an elliptic curve with torsion \(T\) appears? We can ask even more, what if instead of a group \(T\) we are given an \(n\)-isogeny? The results of the author's paper in collaboration with Filip Najman [39] give some answers when the torsion \(T \cong \mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z} \bigoplus \mathbb{Z}/14\mathbb{Z}\) is given and \(d = 3\), and when \(d = 2\) with a given \(n\)-isogeny, for \(n \in \{22,23,26,28,29,30,31,33,35,39,40,41,46,47,48,50,59,71 \}\) which correspond to the modular curves \(X_0(n)\) that are hyperelliptic, except for \(n = 37\). Those results are presented in Chapter 7. Specifically, in Theorems 7.1.1 and 7.1.10 some splitting behaviour of small primes in quadratic extensions over which \(X_0(n)\) has a noncuspidal point was presented. Moreover, we were able to prove some results about the splitting of primes in cubic fields generated by points on \(X_1(2,14)\). It turns out that 2 always splits in such fields, and rational primes \(p \equiv \pm 1\) (mod 7) of multiplicative reduction split as well (see Proposition 7.2.7). Bruin and Najman [5] proved that elliptic curves with torsion \(\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z} \bigoplus \mathbb{Z}/14\mathbb{Z}\) over cubic fields are actually a base change of elliptic curves over \(\mathbb{Q}\). It is also true that those curves defined over \(\mathbb{Q}\) have multiplicative reduction of type \(I_{14k}\) at 2 (see Proposition 7.2.3) and in Chapter 8, Proposition 8.1.2, it was proved that the reduction is always split multiplicative. In the final chapter, Chapter 8, which will follow the author’s paper [46], we study the Tamagawa numbers of elliptic curves with torsion \(\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z} \bigoplus \mathbb{Z}/14\mathbb{Z}\) and of elliptic curves with an \(n\)-isogeny, for \(n \in \{6,8,10,12,14,16,17,18,19,37,43,67,163 \}\) It makes sense to study how the value of the Tamagawa number \(c_E\) of elliptic curve \(E\) depends on \(E(K)_{tors}\), since \(c_E / \#E(K)_{tors}\) appears as a factor in the leading term of the \(L\)-function of \(E/K\) in the conjecture of Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer (see, for example, [16, Conj. F.4.1.6]). Some results on Tamagawa numbers of elliptic curves with a specific torsion subgroup and on the quotient \(c_E / \#E(K)_{tors}\) are given by Lorenzini in [30, Chapter 2] for elliptic curves over the rationals and over quadratic extensions. Krumm [27, Chapter 5] proved some further results on Tamagawa numbers of elliptic curves with prescribed torsion over number fields of degree up to 5. He also conjectured that \(ord_{13}(c_E)\) is even for all elliptic curves defined over quadratic fields with a point of order 13 and the same conjecture was later proved by Najman in [37]. We found in Proposition 8.1.4 that Tamagawa numbers of elliptic curves with torsion \(\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z} \bigoplus \mathbb{Z}/14\mathbb{Z}\) are always divisible by \(14^2\), with factors 14 coming from rational primes with split multiplicative reduction of type \(I_{14k}\), one of which is always \(p = 2\) (see Proposition 8.1.2). The only exception is the curve 1922c1, with \(c_E = c_2 = 14\). The question which naturally arises next is how does the Tamagawa number of an elliptic curve depend on the isogenies of that elliptic curve. In Section 8.2 we give a series of propositions which give us first results about Tamagawa numbers of elliptic curves with prescribed isogeny. Tamagawa numbers of elliptic curves with an 18-isogeny must be divisible by 4 (Proposition 8.2.2), while elliptic curves with an \(n\)-isogeny for the remaining \(n\) from the mentioned set must have Tamagawa numbers divisible by 2 (see Propositions 8.2.3, 8.2.4, 8.2.5 and 8.2.6), except for finite sets of specified curves. In Chapters 1-4 we give a short introduction to elliptic curves and we set the stage for studying all of the mentioned properties of curves and number fields. We include chapters about modular curves, elliptic and hyperelliptic curves, as well as a chapter on elliptic curves over local fields. The computations in this thesis were executed in the computer algebra system Magma [2]. The code can be found at https://web.math.pmf.unizg.hr/~atrbovi/cv.html next to the corresponding paper, or in Appendices A, B and C. Mazur je 1978. godine dokazao svoj poznati teorem o mogućim torzijskim podgrupama eliptičkih krivulja definiranih nad poljem racionalnih brojeva [32]. U 1990-ima, Kamienny, Kenku i Momose [20, 26] su dokazali sličan rezultat koji govori koje su moguće torzijske podgrupe svih eliptičkih krivulja nad svim kvadratnim poljima. No, taj rezultat nam ne govori puno o tome što se događa ako uzmemo neko fiksno kvadratno polje. U Poglavlju 6, koje prati autoričin članak [47], opisujemo metode koje se mogu iskoristiti da bismo odredili sve moguće torzijske grupe eliptičkih krivulja nad nekim fiksnim kvadratnim poljem. Nadalje, dajemo klasifikaciju torzijskih podgrupa eliptičkih krivulja nad kvadratnim poljima \(\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{d})\), gdje je \(0 < d < 100\) kvadratno slobodan. Ti rezultati se mogu naći u Tablici 6.1. Uspjeli smo dobiti potpunu klasifikaciju nad 49 od 60 takvih polja. Nad ostalim poljima nismo mogli zaključiti je li moguća pojava grupe \(\mathbb{Z}/16\mathbb{Z}\) kao torzijske grupe neke eliptičke krivulje. Osim problema o mogućim torzijskim podgrupama eliptičkih krivulja nad poljima algebarskih brojeva određenog stupnja, u ovoj disertaciji će nas zanimati i obratno pitanje, tj. ako imamo zadanu grupu \(T\) i prirodni broj \(d\), što možemo reći o poljima algebarskih brojeva stupnja \(d\) nad kojima postoji neka eliptička krivulja s torzijom \(T\)? Možemo se pitati i više od toga, što ako umjesto grupe \(T\) imamo zadanu \(n\)-izogeniju? Rezultati autoričinog članka u suradnji s Filipom Najmanom [39] daju neke odgovore na ta pitanja kad imamo zadanu torziju \(T \cong \mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z} \bigoplus \mathbb{Z}/14\mathbb{Z}\) i \(d = 3\) te kada imamo \(d = 2\) i zadanu \(n\)-izogeniju, za \(n \in \{22,23,26,28,29,30,31,33,35,39,40,41,46,47,48,50,59,71 \}\), a u skupu se nalaze svi \(n\) osim \(n = 37\) takvi da je pripadna modularna krivulja \(X_0(n)\) hipereliptička. Ti rezultati su predstavljeni u Poglavlju 7. U Teoremima 7.1.1 i 7.1.10 možemo naći neke rezultate o cijepanju malih prostih brojeva u kvadratnim proširenjima nad kojima \(X_0(n)\) ima točku koja nije kusp. Nadalje, bili smo u mogućnosti dokazati i neke rezultate o cijepanju prostih brojeva u kubičnim proširenjima koja su generirana točkama na \(X_1(2,14)\). Može se dokazati da se u takvim poljima 2 uvijek cijepa te da se racionalni prosti brojevi \(p \equiv \pm 1\) (mod 7) multiplikativne redukcije također cijepaju (više u Propoziciji 7.2.7). Bruin i Najman [5] su dokazali da su eliptičke krivulje s torzijom \(\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z} \bigoplus \mathbb{Z}/14\mathbb{Z}\) nad kubičnim poljima zapravo definirane nad \(\mathbb{Q}\). Vrijedi i činjenica da te eliptičke krivulje definirane nad \(\mathbb{Q}\) imaju multiplikativnu redukciju tipa \(I_{14k}\) u 2 (više u Propoziciji 7.2.3), a u Poglavlju 8, Propozicija 8.1.2, dokazali smo da je ta redukcija uvijek rascjepiva multiplikativna. U zadnjem poglavlju, Poglavlju 8, koje prati autoričin članak [46], proučavamo Tamagawine brojeve eliptičkih krivulja s torzijom \(\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z} \bigoplus \mathbb{Z}/14\mathbb{Z}\) i eliptičkih krivulja s \(n\)-izogenijom, za \(n \in \{6,8,10,12,14,16,17,18,19,37,43,67,163 \}\). Ima smisla proučavati kako vrijednost Tamagawinog broja \(c_E\) eliptičke krivulje \(E\) ovisi o \(E(K)_{tors}\), budući da se \(c_E / \#E(K)_{tors}\) pojavljuje kao faktor u vodećem koeficijentu \(L\)-funkcije od \(E/K\) u slutnji od Bircha i Swinnerton-Dyera (vidjeti npr. [16, Conj. F.4.1.6]). Neke rezultate o Tamagawinim brojevima s određenom torzijskom podgrupom i o kvocijentu \(c_E / \#E(K)_{tors}\) je dao Lorenzini u svom članku [30, Chapter 2], za eliptičke krivulje definirane nad poljem racionalnih brojeva i nad kvadratnim proširenjima. Krumm je u svojoj doktorskoj disertaciji [27, Chapter 5] dokazao još neke rezultate o Tamagawinim brojevima eliptičkih krivulja s određenom torzijom nad poljima algebarskih brojeva stupnja do 5. On je također naslutio da je \(ord_{13}(c_E)\) paran za sve eliptičke krivulje definirane nad kvadratnim poljima s točkom reda 13, a tu slutnju je kasnije dokazao Najman u [37]. U Propoziciji 8.1.4 smo dokazali da Tamagawin broj eliptičkih krivulja s torzijom \(\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z} \bigoplus \mathbb{Z}/14\mathbb{Z}\) mora uvijek biti djeljiv s \(14^2\), gdje svaki faktor 14 dolazi od racionalnog prostog broja s multiplikativnom redukcijom tipa \(I_{14k}\), a jedan od tih prostih brojeva je uvijek \(p = 2\) (vidjeti Propoziciju 8.1.2). Jedina iznimka je krivulja 1922c1, za koju je \(c_E = c_2 = 14\). Pitanje koje se sljedeće prirodno postavlja je kako Tamagawin broj eliptičke krivulje ovisi o izogenijama koje ima ta eliptička krivulja. U Poglavlju 8.2 dajemo niz propozicija koje nam daju prve rezultate o Tamagawinim brojevima eliptičkih krivulja s određenom izogenijom. Tamagawini brojevi eliptičkih krivulja s 18-izogenijom moraju biti djeljivi s 4 (Propozicija 8.2.2), dok eliptičke krivulje s \(n\)-izogenijom za preostale \(n\) iz spomenutog skupa imaju Tamagawine brojeve djeljive s 2, osim za konačno mnogo poznatih krivulja. Ti rezultati se nalaze u Propozicijama 8.2.3, 8.2.4, 8.2.5 i 8.2.6. U poglavljima 1-4 dajemo kratak uvod u eliptičke krivulje i osnovne rezultate koje koristimo za proučavanje eliptičkih krivulja i polja algebarskih brojeva. Uključujemo poglavlja o modularnim krivuljama, eliptičkim i hipereliptičkim krivuljama i također o eliptičkim krivuljama nad lokalnim poljima. Izračuni u ovoj disertaciji izvršeni su u računalnom sustavu Magma [2]. Svi kodovi se nalaze na https://web.math.pmf.unizg.hr/~atrbovi/cv.html kraj odgovarajućih članaka ili u Dodacima A, B i C.

Kada provodimo znanstveno istraživanje, nije dovoljno samo pogledati dobivene rezultate i donijeti zaključak o problemu. Nužno je provesti statistički test i tek tada zaključiti što smo dobili tim istraživanjem. U testiranju postavljenih hipoteza koriste se različiti testovi i statistike, ovisno o problemu koji promatramo. U ovom diplomskom radu promatrali smo F-statistiku, a pitanje koje nas je zanimalo bilo je razlikuju li se promatrana očekivanja populacija. Glavna ideja rada bila je pomoću vektora objasniti zašto koristimo F-statistiku kod rješavanja takvih problema pa smo u prvom poglavlju ponovili osnovna znanja iz područja geometrije i statistike. Niz koraka u kojima smo to predočili nazvali smo geometrijski pristup. Potom smo promatrali jednu, dvije i tri populacije te kroz nekoliko primjera proveli sve korake geometrijskog pristupa te na taj način dobili F-statistiku i donijeli zaklju čke istraživanja. Tri glavna primjera preuzeta su iz [7], a dva su izmišljena i simulirana u programu R-u. Za bolje razumijevanje rad smo potkrijepili slikama koje su rađene u programima GeoGebra-i i R-u, a ideja za većinu njih preuzeta je iz glavne literature na kojoj se temelji rad [7]. When we conduct a scientific research it’s not enough to just look at the raw data to make conclusions. It is necessary to perform a statistical test and only then we can make a conclusion about the topic. Different tests and statistics are used in testing the hypothesis, depending on the problems we are interested in. In this thesis, we observed F-statistic and research subject was whether the observed population means differ. The main idea of the paper was to explain why we use F-statistics for such problems, while using vectors, so in the first chapter we reminded ourselves of the basic knowledges in the fields of geometry and statistics. We called the series of steps in which we presented this the geometric approach. We then observed one, two, and three populations and through several examples carried out all the steps of the geometric approach thus obtaining F-statistics and drawing research conclusions. Three main examples were taken over from [7] and two were made up and simulated in the R program. For a better understanding, the thesis substantiated with images made in Geogebra and R. The idea for most of them are also taken from the main literature [7] on which the paper is based.

SET je iznimno zabavna misaona igra kartama najmijenjena djeci i odraslima. Igrajući SET mnogi ne bi naslutili da se u pozadini igre krije matematika. Osim što je zabavna i vrlo zarazna, igra se povezuje s mnogim matematičkim problemima iz područja afine geometrije, linearne algebre, teorije skupova, kombinatorike i vjerojatnosti. Ovaj se rad temelji na geometrijskoj interpretaciji igre SET pomoću konačnog vektorskog i afinog prostora \(\mathbb Z_3^4\). Tokom igre pojavljuju se mnoga pitanja do čijih se odgovora dolazi matematičkim “alatima”. Glavni je problem rada doći do odgovora na jedno od tih pitanja. U matematičkoj interpretaciji SET-a rješavanje postavljenog problema svodi se na pronalasku maksimalne veličine podskupa točaka unutar afinog prostora \(\mathbb Z_3^4\) koji ne sadrži pravac, takozvana 4-kapica. Općenito, maksimalna veličina \(n\)-kapice u \(\mathbb Z_3^n\) poznata je za \(n\leq6\) , a za ostale dimenzije moguće je odrediti samo gornju granicu i to pomoću teorema koji iznosimo u radu. Za prve četiri dimenzije pomoću igre SET pronalazimo primjer maksimalne \(n\)-kapica, a zatim matematički dokazujemo da je veličina pronađene n-kapice zaista maksimalna moguća. Osim toga, rad se bavi i nekim osnovnim svojstvima afinog prostora \(\mathbb Z_3^n\) i posebno geometrijom u \(\mathbb Z_3^n\) za \(n\) = 1, 2, 3, 4. Posljednje poglavlje posvećeno je primjeni igre SET u nastavi matematike. SET je igra kartama pa otvara mnoga kombinatorna i vjerojatnosna pitanja koja možemo postaviti učenicima srednje škole i potaknuti ih na logičko i apstraktno razmišljanje. Isto tako, SET predstavlja konkretan model skupa pa iznosimo i način na koji bi učenici osnovne i srednje škole pomoću zabavne igre mogli uspješno savladati osnovne operacije sa skupovima. SET is an extremely fun thoughtful card game intended for children and adults. What many wouldn’t assume while playing SET is the fact that mathematics is hidden in the core of the game. Apart from being fun and highly addictive, the game associates with many mathematical problems from the field of affne geometry, linear algebra, set theory, combinatorics and probability. This paper is based on the geometric interpretation of the game SET with the help of finite vector and affne space \(\mathbb Z_3^4\). During the course of the game, many problems arise for which the answers are found by mathematical ”tools”. The main problem of the paper is getting an answer to one of those questions. In the mathematical interpretation of SET, solving a set problem comes down to finding the maximum value of a subset of points inside affne space \(\mathbb Z_3^4\) which doesn’t contain a line, the so-called 4-cap. Generally, the maximum value of an \(n\)-cap in \(\mathbb Z_3^n\) is known for \(n\leq6\), whereas for other dimensions it’s possible only to determine the upper limit, which is done with the help of the theorem we’re stating in the paper. For the first four dimensions with the help of the game SET we are coming across an example of a maximum \(n\)-cap, then we mathematically prove that the value of found n-cap is indeed the highest possible. Besides that, the paper deals with some basic properties of affne space \(\mathbb Z_3^n\) and especially the geometry in \(\mathbb Z_3^n\) for \(n\) = 1, 2, 3, 4. The last chapter is dedicated to the application of the game SET in mathematics classes. SET is a card game so it opens many combinatorial and probabilistic questions which can be presented to high school students and encourage them to think logically and abstractly. SET also presents a concrete model of sets so we are presenting a way in which elementary and high school students would be able to grasp basic set operations with the help of a fun game.

U ovom radu obrađene su neke od metoda segmentacije podataka kao klase nenadziranog učenja, zajedno sa svojim matematičkim temeljima, te je prikazana njihova primjena na podacima o korisnicima kreditnih kartica. Rad započinje formalnim matematički zapisom problema, nakon čega se svaki od obrađenih algoritama detaljno opisuje. Posebna pažnja dana je k-means algoritmu i njegovim varijantama. Na kraju rada opisana je primjena navedenog algoritma koristeći programski jezik R. U navedenom primjeru prikazana je mogućnost grupiranja klijenata jedne banke na temelju demografskih karakteristika i zajedničkih obrazaca ponašanja, kao i mogućnost opisivanja velikog skupa podataka karakterističnim svojstvima nekoliko grupa dobivenih u procesu. This paper discusses some of the data segmentation methods as a class of unsupervised learning, along with their mathematical foundations, and presents their application to credit card user data. The paper begins with a formal mathematical notation of the problem, after which each of the processed algorithms is described in detail. Special attention is given to the k-means algorithm and its variants. At the end of the paper, the application of the mentioned algorithm is described using the programming language R. The example shows the possibility of grouping bank’s clients based on demographic characteristics and common patterns of behavior, as well as the possibility of describing a large data set with the characteristic properties of several groups obtained in the process.

Let avionom civilizacijski je postao svakodnevni dio života. Naravno to ne znači da su tehnološki i organizacijski sustavi koji zračni promet čine mogućim i održivim, trivijalni. Ono na što se najviše obraća pozornost su poteškoće u tehničkom pregledu, pri polijetanju, slijetanju i tokom samog leta. Zbog toga je od strane EAS-e (eng. European Aviation Safety Agency) uvedena odredba o obaveznom izvještavanju svakog nepredviđenog događaja. Izvještaje uglavnom pišu piloti ili idući odgovorni u hijerarhiji leta i to najkasnije 72 sata nakon leta. U svrhu što brže organizacije i klasifikacije tih dokumenata s obzirom na razinu rizika u ovom radu su prikazani eksperimenti primjene različitih klasifikacijskih algoritama i popratnih nužnih metoda reprezentacije na skupu od nešto manje od 3000 zvještaja aviokompanije Adria Airways na engleskom jeziku. Izvještaji su, po unaprijed određenim parametrima, klasificirani prema faktoru rizika koji je dan u neekvidistantnoj skali od 1 do 2500. S obzirom na taj faktor, postoje 3 klase događaja: -Događaj bez nesreće u ishodu -Događaj s minimalnom nesrećom ili štetom -Događaj s katastrofalnom nesrećom (uključuje smrtni slučaj) Kako računalu ne možemo dati čisti tekstualni podatak na analizu, korištene su metode tekstuane reprezentacije onim što računalo razumije, a to su brojevi. Reprezentacije teksta korištene u ovom radu su TF-IDF (Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency) bazirana na klasičnoj BoW (Bag of Words) reprezentaciji i BERT kodiranje teksta (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) koje se temelji, kao što ime kaže, na starijoj reprezentaciji modela Transformers, ali je strukturno šire i konceptualno razvijenije. Na gotovim tekstualnim reprezentacijama korišteni su klasifikacijski modeli. Opisani, i u eksperimentu isporbani modeli su RandomForestClassifier biblioteke otvorenog tipa Scikit-learn i model DistilBertForSequenceClassification, biblioteke Transformers koja je također otvorenog tipa. Rezulati nijednog modela nisu pretjerano uspješni, najbolje postignut rezultat klasifikacije određen mjerom F1 je 64% ukupno i 75% samo za klasu događaja s minimalnom nesrećom ili štetom. Iako rezultati nisu izvrsni, vidljiv je znatan napredakod modela RF do modela BERT. Jedan od razloga loših rezultata je zasigurno nebalansiran skup podataka. Najviše je izvještaja klase rizika od minimalne nesreće, pa klasa događaja bez nesreće u ishodu,a najmanje onih sa katastrofalnim ishodom. S obzirom da je pisanje izvještaja obavezno samo u slučaju nepredviđenog događaja, a rizika od katastrofalnih ishoda, na sreću, nema toliko puno, nebalansiranost podataka je logična. Drugi mogući uzrok loših rezultata je to što osim jako dobrih modela, unatoč nastojanjima i velikom uspjehu na tom polju, reprezentacije teksta i dalje ne mogu pouzdano uhvatiti koncept. Osim razlika u značenju isto napisanih riječi, razlike mogu biti u dijalektu, u naglascima i slično. Na primjer riječi (Jadransko) môre, (noćne) mòre i more (u značenju može na dalmatinskom dijalektu) imaju tri potpuno različita značenja a ovisno koliko je dobar rječnik reprezentacije, računalo će te tri riječi pročitati možda isto, možda samo slično, možda čak i različito, ali to ne mora biti pravilo. Možda bi cijeli sustav čitanja, slušanja, razumijevanja i procesuiranja teksta trebao biti konstruiran neovisno o brojevnim reprezentacijama rječnika. Svakako, veliki potencijal napretka zračne sigurnosti leži u metodama procesuiranja i razumijevanja teksta, jer su opisi događaja, bilo u pisanomili još bolje u glasovnom zapisu najbolji uvid u ono što se tokom leta događa. Travelling by plane has become part of our everyday life. Of course, this does not mean that the technological and organizational systems that make air transport possible and sustainable are trivial. What is most noticeable are the diffculties in the technical inspection, during take-off, landing, and during the flight itself. Therefore, EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) has introduced a provision for mandatory reporting of any unforeseen events. Reports are generally written by pilots or the next in line of responsibility in the flight hierarchy no later than 72 hours after the flight. In order to organize and classify these documents as quickly as possible, according to the level of risk, this paper presents experiments with the application of various classification algorithms and accompanying necessary methods of representation on a set of fewer than 3000 reports of Adria Airways in English. These reports, according to predetermined parameters, are classified in line with the risk factor given in the non-equidistant scale from 1 to 2500. Considering this factor, there are 3 classes of events: - No accident outcome -Minor injuries or damage - Major or catastrophic accident (including death) Since we cannot give a computer pure textual data for analysis, methods of textual representation by what the computer understands are used, and these are numbers. The text representations used in this paper are TF-IDF (Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency) based on the classical BoW (Bag of Words) representation and BERT text encoding (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) which is based, as the name suggests, on the older representation of the Transformers model, but is structurally broader and conceptually more developed. Classification models were used on the finished textual representations. The models described and used in the experiment are the RandomForestClassifier open source library Scikit-learn and the model DistilBertForSequenceClassification, a Transformers library that is also open source. The results of none of the models are overly successful, the best-achieved classification result determined by measure F1 is 64% for all classes and 75% for class with minor injuries or damage. However, significant progress is visible from the RF model to the BERT model. One of the reasons for invalid data is certainly an unbalanced data set. Most reports are of the class with a minimal accident, followed by events without an accident in the outcome, and the least of those with the ruinous outcome. Given that, writing a report is mandatory only in case of an unforeseen event, and fortunately, there are not so many events with risk of disastrous outcome, the imbalance of data is logical. Another possible cause of poor results is that, apart from very good models, despite efforts and great success in this field, text representations still cannot reliably grasp the concept. In addition to differences in the meaning of the same words, differences can be in dialect, accents, and the like. For example, the words (reading) a book and to book a flight have completely different meanings, and depending on how well the vocabulary is trained, the computer will maybe read those words the same, maybe just similar, maybe even different, but that doesn’t have to be the rule. Perhaps the whole system of reading, listening, understanding, and processing a text should be constructed independently of the numerical representations of the dictionary. Certainly, the great potential of air safety advances lies in text processing and comprehension methods, as descriptions of events, whether in written or even better in voice recording, provide the best insight into what happens during the flight

Vjerojatnost je gradivo koje se u Republici Hrvatskoj obraduje u osnovnoj i u srednjoj školi. Učenici se pritom susreću s konceptualnim poteškoćama koje mogu biti specifične za vjerojatnost. Konceptualne poteškoće se razlikuju od nesporazuma ili nedostatka znanja po tome što predstavljaju dubinsko nerazumijevanje koncepta u vjerojatnosti te su teške za ukloniti. Zato konceptualne poteškoće možemo nazvati miskoncepcijama. Miskoncepcije koje se najčešće javljaju u vjerojatnosti su pristranost jednakoj vjerojatnosti (equiprobability bias), pristranost reprezentativnosti (representativeness bias) i orijentacija na ishode (outcome orientation). Pristranost jednakoj vjerojatnosti je sklonost učenika da automatski smatra da su u nekom pokusu svi dogadaji jednako vjerojatni, iako nema razloga za to. Pristranost reprezentativnosti je sklonost učenika da očekuje da rezultati pokusa moraju odgovarati nekom uobičajenom uzorku ili poznatom uzorku. Orijentacija na ishode je sklonost učenika da se fokusira na ishod pokusa, a ne na vjerojatnost ishoda pokusa, pa time odbija prihvatiti da je pokus slučajan i smatra da na rezultat pokusa može utjecati vanjska sila. Istraživanja pokazuju da se navedene miskoncepcije pojavljuju u svim dijelovima obrazovanja, dakle u osnovnoj i srednjoj školi te u višem obrazovanju. Moguće miskoncepcije nastaju zbog učeničkog oslonca na intuiciju. Budući da se u vjerojatnosti često javljaju problemski zadatci s kojima se učenik možda susreo u životu, učenik može na temelju iskustva ili osjećaja procijeniti vjerojatnost događaja, a pritom zanemariti matematičku logiku iza rješavanja zadatka. Osim toga, učenik može jedno pitanje zamijeniti drugim, na koje mu je lakše odgovoriti, pa time dobiti krivo rješenje. Miskoncepcije i oslonac na intuiciju se mogu ukloniti susretanjem sa zadatcima koji navode učenike na razmišljanje i propitkivanje svog razmišljanja, jer učenik često nije ni svjestan koliko ne razumije gradivo. Jedan od načina da se učenika dovede do razmišljanja je proučavanje paradoksa. U ovom radu su opisani paradoks rođendana, paradoks Montya Halla, Bertrandov paradoks i Simpsonov paradoks. Neki paradoksi se mogu zvati i problemima ili dilemama, jer nije problem u zadatku koliko u učenikovim miskoncepcijama. Drugi paradoksi su primjeri kontradiktornih izjava iz istih premisa, pa time nije problem u učeniku nego u samoj definiciji problema. Obje vrste paradoksa potiču učenika na razmišljanje i fokusiranje na razumijevanje problema. Da bi učenici razumjeli rješenja zadataka, potrebno je dobro razumijevanje vjerojatnosti. U drugom poglavlju se obrađuje dio teorije vjerojatnosti koja je potrebna za zadatke u srednjoj i osnovnoj školi. U samom stvaranju teorije vjerojatnosti su matematičari imali poteškoća, jer klasične definicije vjerojatnosti (a priori i a posteriori) nisu bile precizno definirane i imale su ograničenja. Nakon uvodenja Kolmogorovljeve aksiomatike, funkcija vjerojatnosti i vjerojatnosni prostor su se mogli precizno definirati te njima rješavati zadatci. In the Republic of Croatia, probability is covered in primary and secondary schools. In doing so, students encounter conceptual diffculties which are specific to probability. Conceptual diffculties differ from lack of knowledge in that they represent a profound misunderstanding of the concept in probability and are diffcult to overcome. That is why we can call them misconceptions. The misconceptions that occur most often in probability are equiprobability bias, representativeness bias and outcome orientation. Equiprobability bias is a student’s tendency to automatically assume that in an experiment all events are equally probable, although there is no reason to do so. Representativeness bias is the tendency of students to expect that the results of an experiment must match a common pattern or a known pattern. Outcome orientation is the student’s tendency to focus on the outcome of the experiment rather than the probability of the outcome of the experiment, thus refusing to accept that the experiment is random and believes that the outcome of the experiment may be influenced by an external factor. Research shows that these misconceptions occur in all parts of education; primary and secondary school and in higher education. Possible misconceptions arise due to the student’s reliance on intuition. Because a student may have encountered in life problems that occur in probability, the student can assess the probability of an event based on experience or feelings, rather then the mathematical logic behind solving the problem. In addition, the student can replace one question with another easier to answer, and thus get the wrong solution. Misconceptions and reliance on intuition can be overcome by encountering tasks that lead students to think and question their thinking, because the student is often not even aware of how much he or she does not understand the material. One way to get students to think is to study paradoxes. This paper describes the birthday paradox, the Monty Hall paradox, the Bertrand paradox and the Simpson paradox. Some paradoxes can also be called problems or dilemmas, because the problem is not as much in the task as in the student’s misconceptions. Other paradoxes are an example of contradictory statements coming from the same premises, so it is not a problem in the student but in the very definition of the task. Both types of paradoxes encourage students to think and focus on the definition of the problem. In order for students to understand the solutions of the problems, a good understanding of probability is required. The second chapter in this paper deals with part of the probability theory in high school and elementary school. Mathematicians had diffculty in creating probability theory itself, because the classical definitions of probability (a priori and a posteriori) were not precisely defined and had limitations. After the introduction of Kolmogorov’s axioms, the probability function and the probability space could be precisely defined and thus used for solving problems

U ovom radu opisuje se problem dvorazinske optimizacije, s posebnim naglaskom na problem linearne dvorazinske optimizacije gdje pretpostavljamo da su funkcije na obje razine afine. Problemi dvorazinske optimizacije imaju drugi (parametarski) problem optimizacije kao dio ograničenja. Za problem linearne dvorazinske optimizacije navode se svojstva i optimalna rješenja na temelju geometrijske interpretacije. Izučava se egzistencija optimalnih rješenja, te pomoću Karush-Kuhn-Tuckerovih uvjeta optimalnosti za donju razinu problema dobivaju se Karush-Kuhn-Tuckerovi uvjeti optimalnosti za problem linearne dvorazinske optimizacije. Navode se algoritmi za rješavanje danog problema te se postavlja pitanje traženja globalnog optimalnog rješenja. Bez pretpostavki afinosti funkcija na obje razine, dolazi se do općenitijeg modela dvorazinske optimizacije. Navode se nužni i dovoljni uvjeti optimalnosti kao i algoritam za izračunavanje Clarkeove stacionarne točke kao optimalnog rješenja problema. Na kraju ovog rada, navode se razne primjene dvorazinske optimizacije u stvarnom svijetu, koje su imale snažan utjecaj na porast istraživanja ovog optimizacijskog problema. In this paper we study the bilevel optimization problem, with special emphasis on the linear bilevel optimization problem where we assume that the functions on both levels are affine. Bilevel optimization problems have another (parametric) optimization problem as part of the constraints. For the linear bilevel optimization problems, properties and optimal solutions based on geometric interpretation are given. The existence of optimal solutions is studied, and using Karush-Kuhn-Tucker optimality conditions for the lower level problem, Karush- Kuhn-Tucker optimality conditions for the linear bilevel optimization problem are obtained. Algorithms for solving a given problem are given and the question of searching for a global optimal solution is raised. Without the assumptions of the affinity of the functions at both levels, a more general model of bilevel optimization is arrived at. Necessary and suficient optimality conditions are given as well as an algorithm for calculating the Clarke stationary point as the optimal solution to the problem. At the end of this paper, various applications of bilevel optimization in the real world are listed, which have had a strong impact on the growth of research on this optimization problem.

U ovom diplomskom radu dan je pregled trenutnog stanja tehnologije virtualne stvarnosti te mogućnosti primjene te tehnologije u nastavi matematike. Nastavni sadržaji iz matematike vezani uz tri dimenzije učenicima predstavljaju dodatni izazov jer moraju steći trodimenzionalno znanje iz dvodimenzionalnih materijala. Virtualna stvarnost ima potencijal riješiti taj problem. Prvi dio rada objašnjava sve važne pojmove vezane uz tehnologiju virtualne stvarnosti, uspoređuje trenutno dostupne uredaje za virtualnu stvarnost, daje pregled problema vezanih uz korištenje ove tehnologije i objašnjava postupak postavljanja i pripreme za rad na primjeru uređaja Oculus Rift. Drugi dio rada istražuje programe za virtualnu stvarnost koji se mogu primijeniti u nastavi matematike s naglaskom na program Neotrie VR. Za program Neotrie VR detaljno su opisane sve mogućnosti te je prikazano nekoliko konkretnih aktivnosti koje se mogu provesti u nastavi. Objašnjena je i mogućnost uvoza i izvoza 3D objekata u STL formatu što omogućava programu Neotrie VR povezivanje s programima za 3D modeliranje i prijenos virtualnih objekata u stvarni svijet putem 3D ispisa. Tehnologija virtualne stvarnosti omogućava učenicima izravno promatranje i vizualizaciju trodimenzionalnih matematičkih koncepata te poboljšava angažiranost i pozitivno utječe na motivaciju učenika. S druge strane, uredaji za virtualnu stvarnost su skupi, zahtijevaju snažna računala koja ih mogu podržati, a programa koji se mogu primijeniti u nastavi matematike je malo i još se razvijaju. This graduate thesis gives an overview of the current state of virtual reality and the possibility of applying this technology in teaching mathematics. Problems in mathematics related to three dimensions represent an additional challenge for students because they have to acquire three-dimensional knowledge from two-dimensional materials. Virtual reality has the potential to solve this problem. The first part of the paper explains all the important concepts related to virtual reality, compares currently available virtual reality devices, gives an overview of problems related to the use of this technology and explains the process of setting up VR headsets on the example of Oculus Rift. The second part of the paper explores virtual reality software that can be applied in mathematics with an emphasis on the program Neotrie VR. For the program Neotrie VR all possibilities are described in detail and several examples of activities are shown. The possibility of importing and exporting 3D objects in STL format is also explained, which enables the program Neotrie VR to connect with programs for 3D modeling and 3D printing. Virtual reality technology allows students to directly observe and visualize three-dimensional mathematical concepts and improves engagement and positively affects student motivation. Virtual reality devices, on the other hand, are expensive, require powerful computers that can support them, and the programs that can be applied in math teaching are few and yet developed.

Kompresija podataka je proces smanjivanja podataka kako bi se ostvarila ušteda prostora. U ovom radu opisani su postupci digitizacije zvuka, odnosno pretvaranje zvuka u njegovu digitalnu reprezentaciju. Glavni postupci digitizacije su uzorkovanje i kvantizacija. Način kvantiziranja može se modificirati kako bi se postigla ušteda podatkovnog prostora. Postoje dvije glavne vrste kompresije, kompresija s gubitcima i kompresija bez gubitaka. Kompresija s gubitcima u radu je prikazana na primjeru dva MPEG standarda, MPEG-1 i MPEG-2. Oni iskorištavaju psihoakustična svojstva zvuka, poput praga čujnosti ljudskog uha i maskirajućih efekata glasnih tonova, kako bi se postigla visoka kvaliteta zvuka s velikom uštedom prostora. Kompresija bez gubitaka uspijeva smanjiti veličinu zvučnih datoteka, a da se pri tom ne gube informacije. Koriste se posebne metode kodiranja, poput Huffmanovog i Riceovog kodiranja. Kompresija bez gubitaka provodi se u tri glavne faze. U prvoj fazi, signal se dijeli na okvire, zatim se uklanja unutarkanalna korelacija i na kraju se izvršava entropijsko kodiranje. U radu su opisana dva primjera kompresije bez gubitaka FLAC i MPEG-4 ALS. Data compression is the process of encoding information using fewer bits than the original representation. This paper describes the procedures for digitizing sound, ie converting sound into its digital representation. The main digitization procedures are sampling and quantization. The quantization method can be modified to save data space. There are two main types of compression, lossy and lossless compression. Two examples od lossy compression are described in this paper, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2. They use the psychoacoustic properties, such as the hearing threshold and the masking effects of loud tones, to achieve high sound quality with eficient space saving. Lossless compression manages to reduce the size of audio files without losing information. Special coding methods are used, such as Huffman and Rice coding. Lossless compression is performed in three main phases. In the first phase, the signal is divided into frames, then the interchannel correlation is removed and finally the entropy coding is performed. The paper describes two examples of lossless compression - FLAC and MPEG-4 ALS.

U ovome radu glavni predmet proučavanja bila je primjena modela slučajnih šuma u svakodnevnom života, točnije u računanju kreditnog rizika u bankama. U početnom dijelu rada pobliže smo upoznali čitatelja s jednostavnom i višestrukom linearnom regresijom. U nastavku rada donijeli smo pregled razvoja strojnog učenja te pojasnili istoimeni pojam. Zatim smo detaljno opisali pojam stabla odluke i kako se ono razvija te smo njegov model prikazali na primjeru i vizualno radi lakšeg shvaćanja napisanog. Slijedilo je poglavlje posvećeno teorijskoj obradi modela slučajnih šuma i njihovoj primjeni u bankarstvu. Radi lakše interpretacije podaci su prikazani kroz histograme i tablice. Za kraj rada donesi su zaključci o radu algoritma i mogućnosti njegove implementacije u bankarski sustav. In this paper, the main subject of study was application of the model of random forests in everyday life, more precisely in the calculation of credit risk in banks. In the initial part of the paper, we introduced the reader to simple and multiple linear regression. In the continuation of the paper, we provide an overview of the development of machine learning and clarify the concept of them. Then we minutely described the concept of the decision tree and how it develops, and we presented its model on an example and visually to make it easier to understand what is written. This was followed by a chapter dedicated to the theoretical processing of random forest models and their application in banking. For easier interpretation, the data are presented through histograms and tables. At the end of the paper, conclusions were made about the operation of the algorithm and the possibility of its implementation in the banking system.

Terenska nastava je oblik izvanučioničke nastave u kojoj se omogućuje učenje u izvornoj stvarnosti, a sastavni je dio svakog školskog kurikuluma. Tema ovog rada je posjet mobilnom planetariju kao oblik terenske nastave u okviru suvremenog znanstvenog obrazovanja. U radu su opisane tehničke karakteristike mobilnog planetarija i digitalni sadržaji. Pojašnjene su teme i koncepti koje učenici mogu naučiti, ali i miskoncepcije koje se mogu spriječiti ili ukloniti odlaskom u planetarij. Opisani su i pokusi koje učenici mogu vidjeti kako bi se dodatno razjasnile pojave koje nisu vidljive na samom nebu planetarija. Field teaching is a form of extracurricular teaching that enables learning in the original reality, and is an integral part of every school curriculum. The topic of this paper is a visit to the mobile planetarium as a form of field teaching in modern science education. The paper describes the technical characteristics of the mobile planetarium and digital content.Topics and concepts that students can learn are presented as well as misconceptions, but also misconceptions that can be prevented or eliminated by going to the planetarium. Experiments that students can see are also described to further elucidate phenomena that are not visible in the planetarium sky itself.

U ovom radu promatramo pojam rotacijskog skupa i neka njegova zanimljiva svojstva. Začetci ovog pojma leže u jednostavnijem pojmu rotacijskog broja, kojeg uvodi Poincare. Radi se o pojmu koji opisuje gibanje točaka pod iteracijama nekog homeomorfizma kružnice, odnosno njegovog podizanja, prirodno pridruženog preslikavanja na \(\mathbb{R}\) promatranom homeomorfizmu. Intuitivno, rotacijski broj predstavlja ”prosječni pomak” točke prilikom jedne iteracije našeg homeomorfizma. Taj pojam najprije generaliziramo do pojma rotacijskog skupa neprekidnih preslikavanja na višedimenzionalnom torusu, a potom se fokusiramo na slučaj rotacijskog skupa homeomorfizma na minimalnom podskupu dvodimenzionalnom torusu i konstuiramo primjer rotacijskog skupa koji separira ravninu, koristeći se metodama simboličke dinamike. Rad je strukturiran u tri poglavlja. U prvom poglavlju obrađujemo jednodimenzionalni slučaj, odnosno rotacijske brojeve homeomorfizama kružnice. Glavni rezultat prvog poglavlja je Denjoyev teorem koji, uz neke pretpostavke na promatrani homeomorfizam, zaključuje da je dinamika tog preslikavanja jednaka dinamici rotacije za iracionalni rotacijski broj promatranog homeomorfizma. U drugom poglavlju, proširujemo pojam rotacijskog broja na pojam rotacijskog skupa u višedimenzionalnom slučaju te pokazujemo niz svojstava rotacijskog skupa neprekidnog preslikavanja u \(\mathbb{R}˄m\), među kojima su najvažnija zatvorenost i povezanost. Naposljetku, fokusiramo se na podslučaj homeomorfizama na dvodimenzionalnom torusu, odnosno njihovih podizanja, gdje pokazujemo da vrijede nešto jača svojstva, među kojima je najvažnije konveksnost rotacijskog skupa. U trećem poglavlju ostajemo pri promatranju homeomorfizama na dvodimenzionalnom torusu i proširujemo pojam rotacijskog skupa podizanja F na rotacijski skup preslikavanja F na nekom podskupu torusa. Zatim pokazujemo da se gibanje točaka pod iteracijama podizanja F može simbolički reprezentirati nizovima znakova 0; 1; ::; N. Stvaranjem adektvatne podloge za poistovjećivanje simboličkih i dinamičkih rotacijskih skupova, problem traženja rotacijskog skupa sa željenim svojstvima svodimo na problem konstrukcije niza znakova s nekim karakteristikama, čiju konstrukciju potom i provodimo. In this paper we observe the notion of the rotational set and some of its interesting properties. Roots of this notion lie in the simpler notion of the rotational number, which was introduced by Poincar´e. The notion describes the motion of points iterated by some homeomorphism of a circle, or its lift, which is a mapping in \(\mathbb{R}\) naturally associated with the observed homeomorphism. Intuitively, the rotational number represents the ”average shift” of a point under a single iteration of our homeomorphism. That notion is firstly generalized to the notion of the rotational set of the continuous mapping in a higher-dimensional torus, after which we focus on the case of a rotational set of a homeomorphism on a minimal subset of the two-dimensional torus and construct an example of a plane-separating rotational set, using the methods of symbolical dynamics. The paper is organized into three chapters. In the first chapter we go over the one-dimensional case, i.e. the rotational number of the homeomorphism of a circle. The main result of the first chapter is Denjoy’s Theorem, which, along with some assumptions on the observed homeomophism, concludes that the dynamics of that mapping equals the dynamics of a rotation R\(_\rho\), for the irrational rotational number \(\rho\) of the observed homeomorphism. In the second chapter, we expand the notion of the rotational number to the notion of the rotational set in the multi-dimensional case and we show some of the properties of the rotational set of a continuous mapping in \(\mathbb{R}˄m\), most important of which are being closed and connected. Finally, we focus on the case of a homeomorphism on a two-dimensional torus and its lift, where we show some more powerful properties, most importantly that the rotational set is convex. In the third chapter, we continue observing the homeomorphisms on a two-dimensional torus and we expand the notion of the rotational set of mapping F to the notion of the rotational set of mapping F on some subset of the torus. Further, we show that the motion of the points being iterated by the lift F can be symbolically represented by sequences of symbols 0; 1; :::; N. By creating the appropriate frame for identification of symbolical and dynamical rotational sets, we transform the problem of constructing the rotational set with required properties to the problem of construction of a sequence of symbols with some characteristics, whose construction we then perform.

Za čovjeka važnu ulogu u životu ima ono što vidi, kao i činjenica da to što vidi može zabilježiti slikom. Tehnologija je dovela do toga da digitalne slike postaju sve bolje i bolje, čime je došlo i do potrebe za različitim mogućnostima uređivanja koja se nad slikama mogu izvršavati. To je računalne stručnjake potaknulo da omoguće izvedbu svih traženih zahtjeva, od kojih su danas najpoznatije svakojake detekcije objekata, popravci slika i slično. Upravo se takvim problemom bavi ovaj rad. Da bi se lakše detektirao objekt na slici ili samo odvojila dobra slika od onih lošijih po pitanju kvalitete i čistoće, kroz rad se istražuje koja bi metoda bila najučinkovitija za takvo izdvajanje te za klasifikaciju je li slika zamućena ili nije. Ako se sliku reprezentira kao funkciju koja prezentira intenzitet svjetla na danom mjestu, onda se računanjem diskretnog Laplasijana takve funkcije mogu detektirati ona mjesta na slici gdje dolazi do naglih promjena intenziteta svjetla i na tim se mjestima detektira rub nekog objekta na slici. Ukoliko je takvih rubova puno, moglo bi se zaključiti da je slika čista s jasno definiranim prijelazima intenziteta koji predsatvljaju ”granice“ izmedu objekata. U suprotnom, ukoliko je rubova malo, slika se smatra zamućenom. Konačno, kao mjera klasifikacije je li slika zamućena ili nije koristi se varijanca Laplasijana kojom se dobiva srednje odstupanje intenziteta sive boje. Ukoliko je varijanca mala, odstupanja u intenzitetima sive boje su mala, dakle, rubova je takoder malo i slika je mutna. U slučaju visoke varijance, slika je čista. Problem kod ove metode predstavlja prag kojeg treba postaviti i koji će prevagnuti je li slika mutna ili nije. Maksimiziranjem točnosti, za slike dimenzija 224x224 točnost na skupu za treniranje iznosi 81:78% uz graničnu vrijednost varijance 1100. Na skupu za testiranje, uz tu graničinu vrijednost varijance, dobivena točnost iznosi 74:59%. Ukoliko se ista metoda testira na istim slikama, ali dimenzija 96x96, točnost koja se dobije na skupu za treniranje je 76:20%, uz graničnu varijancu 2900. Na skupu za testiranje, točnost iznosi 76:28% Na temelju točnosti na skupu za treniranje zaključuje se da, što je slika većih dimenzija, tj. što je bliža izvornoj veličini, to će točnost biti veća, a granična vrijednost za varijancu bit će manja. Najbolje bi zato bilo da se metoda primijeni na slike izvorne veličine. Bez obzira na veličine slika na koje je metoda primijenjena, ona se pokazuje dobrom, tj. uspješnom, a služi i kao usporedba za ostale metode. Sljedeća metoda jesu obične neuronske mreže koje su u posljednje vrijeme postigle popularnost dajući odlične rezultate za razne probleme. Kako je slika dvodimenzionalna, a neuronska mreža kao ulaz prima vektore, matricu svake slike bilo je potrebno rastegnuti u vektor pa je na takvom skupu podataka učena neuronska mreža s jednim skrivenim slojem. Pokazalo se da se svaka funkcija može dovoljno dobro aproksimirati neuronskom mrežom sa samo jednim skrivenim slojem pa se koristi takva arhitektura mreže. Pretpostavka je bila da rezultati ove metode neće biti dobri, jer se sliku mora rastegnuti čime se gube značajne veze izmedu susjednih piksela koji u vektoru više nisu susjedni. Provedena testiranja potvrduju pretpostavku. Na skupu za testiranje ne dobiva se dobar rezultat. Točnost od približno 67% se smatra niskom, a puno je niža i od one koja se dobiva primjenom varijance Laplasijana. Zbog takvih rezultata razvijen je poseban oblik neuronskih mreža, a to su konvolucijske neuronske mreže. Ove mreže kao ulaz primaju višedimenzionalne ulaze, pa tako primaju i cijelu sliku. Kao što im i ime govori, glavna je operacija konvolucija kojom se izdvajaju i detektiraju bitne značajke za rješavanje problema. Da daju bolje rezultate pokazalo je testiranje na istom skupu podataka s konačnom točnošću na skupu za testiranje od otprilike 82%. Kako su slike dimenzija 96x96, ovo se može smatrati visokom točnošću, jer se smanjivanjem dimenzija slike algoritam zakida za neke bitne prostorne značajke, kao i kada se u prethodnom modelu slika rastezala. Postignuta točnost je visoka, ali je li i maksimalna? Zadnja obradena metoda pokazala je moguće dobiti bolje rezultate. Prijenosnim se učenjem postiže više poboljšanja i pojednostavljenja poput smanjenja količine podataka potrebne za treniranje, ubrzanje treniranja i postizanje boljih konačnih rezultata. Razvili su se mnogi oblici konvolucijskih neuronskih mreža koje se koriste i čije se težine unaprijed postave na vrijednosti dobivene treniranjem na puno većem skupu podataka. Stoga se očekuje da je tako postavljenim težinama algoritam već nešto naučio pa će učenje biti brže i uspješnije. Treniranjem i testiranjem na manjem skupu podataka dobiju se dosta dobri rezultati. Pokazalo se da je moguće dobiti točnost i iznad 90% što nadmašuje sve prijašnje rezultate. Modeli ovdje ipak nisu testirani na istom skupu kao i prijašnji, ali oni svejedno pokazuju da je poboljšanje moguće. Konačno, uspjelo se pokazati da postoje metode strojnog učenja koje uspješno rješavaju problem klasifikacije, ali ako se želi primijeniti najlakša, a dobra metoda, dovoljno je primijeniti Laplaceov pristup na sliku u sivim tonovima, dobro postaviti graničnu vrijednost i brzo klasificirati zamućenu sliku. Ukoliko se želi iskoristiti neka moderinija strojna metoda, dovoljno je naučiti običnu konvolucijsku neuronsku mrežu s nekoliko skrivenih slojeva za postizanje dobrih rezultata. Dodatno, želi li se koristiti napredna arhitektura, mogu se koristiti aktualno uspješne konvolucijske mreže, poput AlexNeta, ResNeta i slično, ali uz korištenje unaprijed treniranih težina koje su uvijek javno dostupne. For a person, what he sees plays an important role in life, as well as the fact that what he sees can be recorded in an image. Technology has led to digital images getting better and better, leading to the need for different editing options that can be executed on images. This prompted computer experts to enable the performance of all the requirements, of which the most well-known today are all kinds of object detections, image corrections and the like. This is exactly the problem that this paper deals with. In order to more easily detect an object in an image or just separate a good image from those that are worse in terms of quality and purity, the paper investigates which method would be most effective for such separation and to classify whether the image is blurred or not. If the image is represented as a function that presents the intensity of light in a given place, then by calculating the discrete Laplacian of such functions, there can be detected the places in the image where there are sudden changes in light intensity. Those places are detected and the edges of an object in the image. If there are many such edges, it could be concluded that the image is clear with clearly defined intensity transitions that represent ”boundaries” between objects. Otherwise, if the edges are small, the image is considered blurred. Finally, as a measure of classification whether the image is blurred or not, the variance of Laplacian is used to obtain the mean deviation of the gray color intensity. If the variance is small, the deviations in gray intensities are small, therefore, the number of edges is also small and the image is blurred. In the case of high variance, the image is clear. he challenge in utilizing this method is to set the classification threshold to classify which images are blurry and which are not. By maximizing accuracy, for 224x224 images, the accuracy on the training set is 81:78% with a variance threshold of 1100. On the test set, with this variance threshold, the accuracy obtained is 74:59%. If the same method is tested on the same images, but with dimensions 96x96, the accuracy obtained on the training set is 76:20%, with variance value of 2900. At the test set, the accuracy is 76:28%. Based on the accuracy at the training set, it can be concluded that the larger the image, ie. the closer to the original size, the higher the accuracy, and the lower the limit value for variance. It would therefore be best to apply the method to the original sizes of images. Regardless of the image sizes to which the method is applied, it proves to be good and successful, and also serves as a comparison for other methods. The next method are neural networks which have recently gained popularity by giving excellent results for various problems. As the image is two-dimensional, and the neural network receives vectors as input, the matrix of each image had to be stretched into a vector, so a neural network with one hidden layer was learned on such a data set. It has been shown that any function can be approximated well enough by a neural network with only one hidden layer, so such a network architecture is used. The assumption was that the results of this method would not be good because the image had to be stretched thus losing significant links between adjacent pixels that are no longer adjacent in the vector. The tests performed confirm the assumption. A good result is not obtained at the test set. The accuracy of approximately 67% is considered low, and is much lower than that obtained by tresholding the variance of the Laplacian of an image. Due to such results, a special form of neural networks has been developed, and these are convolutional neural networks. These networks receive multidimensional inputs as input, and thus receive the whole picture. As their name suggests, the main operation is convolution, which highlights and detects essential troubleshooting features. To give better results, testing on the same data set showed a final accuracy on the test set of approximately 82%. As the images are 96 96, this can be considered high accuracy, because by reducing the image dimensions, the algorithm is deprived of some important spatial features, as when the image was stretched in the previous model. The achieved accuracy is high, could it be improved? The last processed method showed it is possible to get better results. Transfer learning achieves more improvements and simplifications such as reducing the amount of data needed to train, speeding up training, and achieving better end results. Many forms of convolutional neural networks have been developed that are used and whose weights are previously trained on a much larger data set. Therefore, it is expected that with the weights set in this way, the algorithm has already learned something, so learning will be faster and more successful. By training and testing on a smaller data set, quite good results are obtained. It turned out that it is possible to get accuracy above 90%, which surpasses all previous results. The models here have not been tested on the same set as the previous ones, but they still show that improvement is possible. Finally, it has been shown that there are machine learning methods that successfully solve the classification problem. If the easiest, but rather good, method is to be applied, it is enough to apply Laplace method on images in gray scale, set the limit value well and quickly classify the blurred images. If one wants to use some modern machine method, it is enough to learn a simple convolutional neural network with several hidden layers to achieve good results. Additionally, if one wants to use an advanced architecture, it can use currently successful convolutional networks, such as AlexNet, ResNet and the like, but with the use of pre-trained weights that are always publicly available.

Ovim radom barem djelomice je objašnjen problem asimetrije informacija, teškoće s kojima se tržište kredita pogodeno ovom problematikom može susresti te je navedeno na koji način te iste probleme možemo minimizirati, a u nekim situacijama potpuno iskorijeniti, u svrhu poboljšanja kvalitete tržišta. Informacijski problemi na tržištu kredita poput negativne selekcije i moralnog hazarda usko su povezani s očekivanim povratima na bankarske kredite koji su samo djelomično monotone funkcije kamatne stope R. To može biti tako jer previsoke stope kredita mogu dovesti do povećanih stopa defaulta koje nadvladavaju rastuće očekivane povrate uzrokovane visokim stopama kredita. Dakle, glavna implikacija postojanja asimetričnih informacija je ta da funkcija ponude kredita može biti padajuća za visoke razine kamatnih stopa. Ako se potražnja za kreditom ponaša dobro, to jest kao silazna funkcija u odnosu na kamatnu stopu, može se dogoditi da pod odredenim tržišnim uvjetima ne postoji ravnoteža čišćenja tržišta, odnosno krivulja ponude i potražnje se ne presijecaju. To je dovelo do uvodenja alternativnog koncepta ravnoteže, ravnotežnog kreditnog racioniranja tamo gdje potražnja za kreditom premašuje ponudu. Nadalje, u radu se još proučavao Besterov model baziran na heterogenim klijentima i korištenju kolaterala kao sredstva za razvrstavanje različitih tipova dužnika od strane banke. Banka nudi za svaku vrstu zajmoprimca po jedan ugovor i shodno tome objašnjava se pojam ujedinjujuće i razdvajajuće ravnoteže. Uvodi se pojam klase ugovora o zajmu i pokazuje da se povećavanjem klase eliminira kreditno racioniranje. This paper explains, at least in part, the problem of information asymmetry, the diffculties that the credit market affected by this problem may encounter and outlines how these problems can be minimized, and in some situations completely eliminated, to improve the quality of the market. Information problems in the credit market, such as negative selection and moral hazard are closely linked to the expected returns on bank loans, which are only partially monotonous functions of the interest rate R. This may be so because too high loan rates can lead to increased default rates that outweigh the rising expected returns that are caused by high loan rates. Thus, the main implication of the existence of asymmetric information is that the loan supply function may be decreasing for high interest rates. If the demand for credit behaves well, that is, as a decreasing function of the interest rate, it may happen that there is no equilibrium of market cleanliness under certain market conditions, i.e. the supply and demand curves do not intersect. This has led to the introduction of an alternative concept of equilibrium, equilibrium credit rationing where demand for credit exceeds supply. Furthermore, the paper also studies the Bester’s model based on heterogeneous clients and the use of collateral as a means of classifying different types of borrowers by the Bank. The Bank offers one contract for each type of borrower and the concept of pooling and separating equilibriums are explained accordingly. The concept of a loan agreement class is introduced and shows that increasing the class eliminates credit rationing.

U ovom radu osnovni objekti su pozitivne i nenegativne matrice, odnosno one sa pozitivnim i nenegativnim elementima. Središnji pojmovi su svojstvene vrijednosti i njihovi pripadni svojstveni vektori. Među svim svojstvenim vrijednostima najbitnija nam je ona najveća po modulu pa smo time uveli pojam spektralnog radijusa. Za njega smo dokazali mnoge tvrdnje, nejednakosti i formule kako ga možemo izračunati. U prvom poglavlju smo, nakon definiranja osnovnih pojmova, detaljno i postepeno prošli kroz dokaz teorema. Ono je podijeljeno na tri dijela. Baš onako kako se povijesno proširivao teorem, tako i u ovom radu prvo se bavimo sa striktno pozitivnim matricama, a tek onda nakon toga s nenegativnim primitivnim matricama i naposlijetku s nenegativnim ireducibilnim matricama. Pritom uvodimo vezu matrica s teorijom grafova i navodimo karakterizacije ireducibilnosti. Drugo poglavlje ovoga rada je posvećeno raznim primjenama. Prvo je obrađen Fanov teorem koji daje moćan alat u lociranju svojstvenih vrijednosti. On je posebno koristan kod kompliciranih i velikih matrica te tako i Fanov teorem sam po sebi ima mnoštvo primjena. Nakon toga smo naveli nekoliko načina modeliranja rangiranja sportskih timova i pritom nam je Perron-Frobeniusov teorem jamčio da postoje rješenja naših modela i da su ona jedinstvena. Obrađene su i primjene u Markovljevim lancima te objašnjeno kako funkcionira Googleov PageRank algoritam. Naposlijetku, navedena je i primjena na M-matricama kod ekonomskog modela. In this thesis, the basic objects are positive and non-negative matrices, i.e. matrices with positive and non-negative elements respectively. Central notions are eigenvalues and their corresponding eigenvectors. Among all eigenvalues, the most important to us is the one largest in modulus, so we introduced the concept of spectral radius. We have proved many claims, inequalities, and formulas for calculating it. In the first chapter, after defining the basic concepts, we went through the proof of the theorem gradually and in detail. It is divided into three parts. Just as the theorem has historically evolved, so in this paper we first deal with strictly positive matrices, and only then with nonnegative primitive matrices and finally with nonnegative irreducible matrices. In doing so, we introduce a connection between matrices and graph theory and state the characterizations of irreducibility. The second chapter of this paper is devoted to various applications. First, Fan’s theorem is given, which provides a powerful tool in locating eigenvalues. It is especially useful for complicated and large matrices, and so the Fan theorem in itself has many applications. After that, we listed several ways of modeling the ranking of sports teams, and the Perron-Frobenius theorem guaranteed that there are solutions for these models and that they are unique. The applications to Markov chains are also discussed, and it is explained how Google’s PageRank algorithm works. Finally, an application to M-matrices in the economic model is also mentioned.

U ovom diplomskom radu proučavali smo uređene prstene. Kroz tri poglavlja smo definirali pojmove grupa, prsten, polje, uređeni skup, uređeni prsten, potpolje, homomorfizam grupa, gusta i Arhimedova grupa, pravi i dobar prerez. Veliki dio rada posvećen je zbrajanju i množenju prereza te pravih i dobrih prereza uz dokazivanje nekih svojstava tih binarnih operacija. In this paper we studied ordered rings. Through three chapters we defined the notions group, ring, field, ordered set, ordered ring, subfield, group homomorphism, dense and Archimedean group, proper and good cut. Big part of this paper is dedicated to adition and multiplication of regular, proper and good cuts with proving some of the properties of those binary operations.

U ovom radu prikazani su raznovrsni rezultati o nožišnim poligonima, dakle poligonima čiji su vrhovi nožišta okomica spuštenih iz neke točke u ravnini na stranice nekog poligona. U večini slučajeva riječ je o četverokutima, no ima rezultata koji se odnose na n-terokute općenito. U euklidskoj geometriji trokuta odavno je poznato mnogo teorema o nožišnim trokutima pa je u prvom poglavlju izložen dio takvih rezultata. Istaknimo nejednakost poznatu kao Erdoes-Mordellov teorem, budući da se kasnije u radu dokazuje teorem za tetivne četverokute koji se može smatrati nekom vrstom analogona te nejednakosti. Istaknimo još dokaz svojstva četverokuta, različitog od paralelograma, da postoji točno jedna točka sa svojstvom da su nožišta okomica na stranice četverokuta kolinearne točke. Po analogiji s poznatim svojstvom iz geometrije trokuta, ta se jedinstvena točka naziva Simsonovom točkom, a pravac na kojem leže nožišta okomica naziva se Simsonov pravac četverokuta. Dokazane su još različite nejednakosti za n-terokute koje su analogoni poznatim rezultatima za četverokute te Steinerov teorem o kružnici koju čine točke čiji pridruženi nožišni poligoni imaju konstantnu površinu. Erdos-Mordellov This paper presents various results on foot polygons, ie polygons whose vertex tips are perpendiculars lowered from a point in the plane to the sides of a polygon. In most cases, these are quadrilaterals, but there are results that apply to n-terracots in general. Many theorems on knife triangles have long been known in the Euclidean geometry of triangles, so a part of such results is presented in the first chapter. Let us emphasize the inequality known as the Erdoes-Mordell theorem, since later in the paper we prove a theorem for tendon quadrilaterals that can be considered as a kind of analogue of this inequality. Let us point out another proof of the property of a quadrilateral, different from a parallelogram, that there is exactly one point with the property that the blades of the perpendiculars on the sides of the quadrilateral are collinear points. By analogy with a known property from the geometry of a triangle, this unique point is called the Simson point, and the direction on which the perpendicular blades lie is called the Simson direction of the quadrilateral. Different inequalities for n-terracots that are analogous to the known results for quadrilaterals and Steiner's theorem on a circle formed by points whose associated knife polygons have a constant surface have been proved.

Cilj ovoga rada je opisati kodiranja koja ispravljaju greške. U prvom poglavlju su opisani osnovni pojmovi kod kodiranja koja ispravljaju greške i dan je jedan jednostavni primjer kodiranja. U drugom poglavlju se opisuje Hammingov (7, 4) kod i definira se Hammingova udaljenost. U trećem poglavlju opisuju se blok kodovi, tj. kodovi u kojima se podatci dijele na blokove. Također je dana gornja granica na broj kodnih riječi. Opisani su savršeni kodovi i definiran pojam ekvivalentnosti kodova. Opisan je i Hammingov (8, 4) kod koji detektira dvije pogreške u prijenosu poruke. U četvrtom poglavlju su opisani linearni kodovi i dana je definicija dviju važnih matrica: generirajuće matrice i matrice provjere pariteta. Opisano je kako pomoću njih dobiti enkodiranu riječ, odnosno kako provjeriti pripada li riječ kodu. U istom poglavlju su opisane i neke metode dekodiranja poruke. U petom poglavlju se formaliziraju Hammingovi kodovi. Opisani su i simpleks kodovi te Hadamardovi kodovi. The goal of this paper is to describe error-correcting codes. In the first chapter, the basic concepts of error-correcting codes are described and a simple example is given. In the second chapter, the Hamming (7, 4) code is described and the Hamming distance is defined. In the third chapter, block codes are described, i.e. codes in which data is divided into blocks. In the same chapter, the upper limit for the number of codewords is given. Perfect codes are described and the concept of code equivalence is defined. The Hamming (8, 4) code, which detects two errors in message transmission is described. In the fourth chapter, linear codes are described and two important matrices are defined: generator matrix and parity check matrix. It is described how to use them to encode a word and how to check whether the word belongs to the code. In the same chapter, some methods of message decoding are described. In the fifth chapter, Hamming codes are formalized. Simplex codes and Hadamard codes are also described.

U ovom radu opisane su vremenske složenosti nekih robusnih diskretnih problema optimizacije. Nakon navođenja osnovnih pojmova, problema i definicija ispituju se robusne varijante problema najkraćeg puta, najmanjeg razapinjućeg stabla i pakiranja naprtnjače. Uvode se pojmovi klasa P i NP te P-teških i NP-teških problema. Proučavaju se navedeni problemi s određenim ograničenjima u usporedbi sa svojim konvencionalnim varijantama. Definira se slojevita mreža i pokazuje se da su apsolutni i devijacijski robusni problemi najkraćeg puta slabo NP-teški čak i u slojevitim mrežama širine dva i sa samo dva scenarija. Nakon dokazivanja tih tvrdnji dani su i algoritmi koji rješavaju probleme na slojevitim mrežama u pseudo-polinomnom vremenu. Problemi su jako NP-teški kada broj scenarija nije ograničen. Nakon što su te tvrdnje dokazane, u slijede ćem poglavlju se uvodi pojam rešetkastog grafa. Dokazuje se je apsolutni problem najmanjeg razapinjućeg stabla slabo NP-težak na poprilično restringiranom rešetkastom grafu sa samo dva scenarija. Dan je algoritam koji rješava problem na rešetkastom grafu u pseudo-polinomnom vremenu. Zatim se dokazuje da je apsolutni problem najmanjeg razapinju ćeg stabla jako NP-težak kada je broj scenarija neograničen. Nadalje, dokazuje se da je apsolutni robusni problem naprtnjače jako NP-težak na neograničenom broju scenarija i dan je pripadajući algoritam. Zadnje poglavlje sadrži konkretnu implementaciju algoritma koji rješava apsolutni robusni problem najkraćeg puta u jeziku Ruby s pripadajućim primjerima. In this paper, the time complexities of some robust discrete optimization problems are described. After stating the basic concepts, problems and definitions, robust variants of the shortest path, smallest spanning tree and knapsack packing problems are examined. The concepts of classes P and NP as well as P-hard and NP-hard problems are introduced. The aforementioned problems are studied with certain limitations compared to their conventional variants. A layered network is defined and it is shown that the absolute robust and robust deviation shortest path problems are weakly NP-hard even in layered networks of width two and with only two scenarios. After proving these statements, algorithms for the layered network problem for each are given. These problems are strongly NP-hard when the number of scenarios is not limited. After these claims have been proven, the next chapter introduces the concept of a grid graph. The absolute minimum spanning tree problem is proven to be weakly NP-hard on a fairly restricted grid graph with only two scenarios. An algorithm is given that solves the problem in pseudo-polynomial time for a grid graph and a bounded number of scenarios. Then it is proven that the absolute minimum spanning tree problem is strongly NP-hard when the number of scenarios is unbounded. The second to last chapter proves that the absolute robust knapsack problem is strongly NP-hard on an unlimited number of scenarios and the corresponding algorithm is given. The last chapter contains a concrete implementation of an algorithm that solves the absolute robust shortest path problem in the Ruby programming language with associated examples.

U ovom radu proučavali smo politiku reosiguranja i potražnje za priljevima novaca s ciljem očuvanja poslovanja tvrtke i spašavanja iste od propasti. Cilj modela bio je ustvrditi trenutke u kojima je potrebno zatražiti priljev novaca te njihov iznos, pronaći optimalnu razinu reosiguranja (za oba oblika reosiguranja) te funkciju vrijednosti koja prati troškove firme i minimizira ih. Optimalna funkcija vrijednosti pronađena je eksplicitno pomoću kvazi-varijacijskih nejednakosti i radi se o eksponencijalnoj funkciji. Trenuci u kojima je potrebno zatražiti priljeve novaca su upravo oni u kojima dolazi do propasti poslovanja (pričuva je jednaka nuli). Iznosi priljeva novaca kao i optimalna razina reosiguranja su konstante. Time je optimalna politika koja kontrolira pričuvu modelirana difuzijskim procesom sa skokovima gdje je pričuvni proces Brownovo gibanje s konstantnim driftom i konstatnim skokovima napravljenima u trenucima propasti poslovanja. In this paper, we studied an optimal reinsurance policy as well as the optimal policy of cash-injection calls. The presented model establishes the moments in which it is necessary to request cash injections and determines their amount, it also finds the optimal level of reinsurance (for both forms of reinsurance) and the value function that minimizes the cost. The optimal value function is found explicitly using QVI and is an exponential function. Cash-injections are optimally called at the moment of ruins (surplus is equal to zero) and their amount was found to be constant. The optimal level of reinsurance is also found to be constant. Thus, the optimal policy that controls surplus process was modeled by jumpdiffusion process and the surplus process became a Brownian motion with a constant drift and constant jumps at the times of ruin.

U ovom radu prikazali smo primjene nekih tehnika robusne optimizacije u strojnom učenju. Robusna optimizacija važan je dio optimizacije koji se bavi nesigurnošću u podacima optimizacijskih problema. Kako se u današnje vrijeme strojno učenje često susreće s nesigurnošću, robusna optimizacija tu ima sve veću ulogu. Promatrana je veza između robusnosti i regulariziranog stroja potpornih vektora, točnije, pokazali smo da je standardni regularizirani stroj potpornih vektora posebni slučaj robusne optimizacije. Zatim je uvedena robusna regresija s pogreškom najmanjih kvadrata te je promatran slučaj gdje su značajke izložene smetnjama, to jest nesigurnosti. Osigurana je interpretacija Lasso algoritma s robusne perspektive, a na temelju te robusne interpretacije istražena su svojstva rijetkosti i konzistentnosti. Osim toga, predstavljen je rezultat koji nam govori da su rijetkost i stabilnost u kontradikciji, to jest da se ne mogu postići simultano. In this paper, we presented some robust optimization techniques in machine learning. Robust optimization is an important part of optimization that deals with uncertainty in the data of optimization problems. As today’s machine learning is often faced with uncertainty, robust optimization plays an increasingly important role. The connection between robustness and regularized support vector machine was observed, more precisely, we showed that the standard regularized support vector machine is a special case of robust optimization. Robust regression with least squares error was introduced and the case where the features are exposed to disturbances, that is, uncertainties, was observed. An interpretation of the Lasso algorithm from a robust perspective is provided, and on the basis of this robust interpretation, the properties of sparsity and consistency are investigated. In addition, a result is presented that tells us that sparsity and stability are in contradiction, that is, they cannot be achieved simultaneously.

U ovome radu prezentiramo metodu sažimajućeg očitavanja koja nam omogućuje rekonstrukciju signala iz vrlo malog broja mjerenja, uz uvjet rijetkosti signala u nekoj bazi. Rekonstrukciju dobivamo preko problema minimizacije \(l_1\) norme, koja pod određenim uvjetima daje ista rješenja kao problem minimizacije \(l_0\) norme. U prvom poglavlju formuliran je problem sažimajućeg očitavanja i dana je usporedba s klasičnim pristupima sažimanju podataka. Uvedene su definicije i pojmovi koji se kasnije koriste. U drugom poglavlju detaljno je predstavljena teorija sažimajućeg očitavanja: pokazani su uvjeti pod kojima će postupak biti uspješan te su dane granice točnosti rekonstrukcije ovisno o parametrima mjerenja. U trećem poglavlju pokazali smo kako sažimajuće očitavanje radi u problemima rekonstrukcije slika, te smo uveli poboljšanja na sam postupak koja dovode do boljih rezultata rekonstrukcije. In this paper, we investigate compressive sensing, a technique that allows for the reconstruction of a signal from a limited number of measurements, provided that the signal exibits sparsity in some orthonormal basis. The signal is reconstructed by solving a \(l_1\) minimization problem is solved, which in the right conditions, yields a solution that is equivalent to a \(l_0\) minimization problem. In the first chapter, we formulate the compressive sensing problem and give compare it to the standard approach for signal compression. Key definitions and concepts are introduced. In the second chapter, we present a comprehensive theory of compressive sensing, demonstrating the conditions under which the method is guaranteed to be successful, and we providing the bounds on the reconstruction error based on the measurement process. In the third chapter, we demonstrate the application of compressive sensing to image reconstruction and modifications that significantly improve the reconstruction accuracy.

U ovome radu se bavimo proučavanjem izražajne snage jezika SQL, najviše u pogledu nemogućnosti iskazivanja rekurzivnih upita u jezgrenom dijelu SQL-a koji pokriva standard jezika iz 1992. godine. Granice izražajnosti postavljamo pomoću svojstva lokalnosti upita te dajemo skicu dokaza teorema o lokalnosti upita, koristeći pritom proširenje relacijske algebre agregatima, logiku s agregatima i logiku s brojanjem. Bavimo se važnim dodatkom jeziku SQL u standardu iz 1999. godine rekurzijom, te se osvrćemo na ograničenja vezana uz zadavanje rekurzivnih upita u tom standardu. U prvom poglavlju definiramo pojmove vezane uz relacijski model baza podataka i operatora relacijske algebre. Na konkretnom primjeru baze podataka prikazujemo djelovanje definiranih operatora. U drugom poglavlju opisujemo djelovanje operatora jezgrene verzije SQL-a koristeći pritom bazu podataka iz prvog poglavlja. Dajemo i kratak pregled povijesti SQL-a u pogledu standardizacije jezika. U zadnjem dijelu poglavlja bavimo se rekurzijom, motivacijom za uvodenje rekurzije i praktičnim primjenama rekurzivnih upita. U trećem i završnom poglavlju uvodimo proširenje relacijske algebre agregatnim funkcijama, grupiranjem i aritmetičkim operacijama u oznaci ALG\(_\text{aggr}\). Uvodimo pojam lokalnosti i iskazujemo rezultate o izražajnoj snazi SQL-a koristeći to svojstvo. U nastavku poglavlja dajemo skicu dokaza važnog rezultata (teorem 3.3.8), uvodeći pritom dva jezika za postavljanje upita bazirana na logici - logike \(\mathcal{L}_\text{aggr}\) i \(\mathcal{L}_\text{C}\). Na kraju poglavlja iskazujemo ograničenja vezana za zadavanje rekurzivnih upita te se bavimo svojstvima upita poput monotonosti, linearnosti, egzistencije i jedinstvenosti fiksne točke i slično. In this paper, we deal with examining the expressive power of the SQL language, mostly in regards to the inability to express recursive queries in the core SQL language which encompasses the standard from 1992. Expressiveness boundaries are set using the feature of locality. We provide a draft of the proof of the locality of queries by using the extension of relational algebra via aggregates, aggregate logic and counting logic. We deal with an important addition to the SQL language in the standard from 1999 recursion, as well as consider the limits related to defining recursive queries in that standard. In the first chapter, we define terms related to the relational database model and relational algebra operators. We showcase the effect of the defined operators by giving a practical example. In the second chapter, we describe the effect of core SQL operators while using the database examples from the first chapter. We also provide a short overview of the history of SQL with regards to language standardization. In the last part of the chapter we deal with recursion, the motivation for introducing recursion and give practical examples of recursive queries. In the third and final chapter, we introduce the extension of relational algebra via aggregate functions, grouping and arithmetic operations, denoted by ALG\(_\text{aggr}\). We introduce the notion of locality and use it to state the results of the expressive power of SQL. Furthermore, we provide a sketch of the proof of an important result (theorem 3.3.8), while also introducing two query languages based on logic - \(\mathcal{L}_\text{aggr}\) and \(\mathcal{L}_\text{C}\). At the end of the chapter, we showcase the limitations related to defining recursive queries and also deal with query features such as monotonicity, linearity, the existence and uniqueness of a fixed point, etc.

U ovom diplomskom radu opisana je Galoisova teorija te je ista primijenjena na klasične konstrukcijske probleme u geometriji - trisekciju kuta, duplikaciju kocke, kvadraturu kruga te konstrukciju pravilnog sedmerokuta. Rad se sastoji od tri cjeline. Prvi dio služi kao podsjetnik na važne definicije i teoreme potrebne za bolje razumijevanje same Galoisove teorije. U drugoj cjelini uvodimo Galoisovu teoriju koja se razvila iz klasičnog problema teorije polinomijalnih jednadžbi. Glavna ideja Galoisove teorije je povezati proširenje polja K ⊂ F s grupom svih automorfizama od F koji fiksiraju elemente polja K, odnosno Galoisovom grupom proširenja polja K. O postojanju bijekcije između ova dva spomenuta skupa govori upravo Fundamentalni teorem Galoisove teorije. U zadnjem, trećem dijelu, ovog rada primijenili smo opisanu teoriju na konstrukcijske probleme i algebarski dokazali kako konstrukcije uistinu nisu moguće. In this thesis, Galois theory is described and applied to classical construction problems in geometry - angle trisection, doubling the cube, squaring the circle and construction of a regular heptagon. The work consists of three parts. The first part serves as a reminder of important definitions and theories necessary for a better understanding of Galois theory itself. In the second unit, we introduce the Galois theory, the origin of which begins with a classical problem in the theory of polynomial equations. The main idea of the Galois theory is to connect the field extension K ⊂ F to the group of all automorphisms of F that fix the elements of the field K, in other words, to the Galois group of the field extension K. The existence of a one-to-one correspondence between these two mentioned sets is exactly what the Fundamental theorem of Galois theory says. In the last, the third part of this paper, we applied the described theory to construction problems and proved algebraically that constructions are truly impossible.

Proučavajući teorijski svojstvene vrijednosti i svojstvene funkcije Laplaceovog operatora uočena su obilježja kojima se njihovo računanje može pojednostaviti. Prvenstveno, one ne ovise o afinim izometričnim transformacijama skupova (osim što se domena svojstvenih funkcija, očito, izometrično transformira). Također, skaliranjem skupa svojstvene se vrijednosti skaliraju multiplikativnim inverzom kvadrata skalara, dok se svojstvene funkcije komponiraju zdesna sa skalarom. Nadalje, one neprekidno ovise o domeni i svojstvene su vrijednosti padajuće s obzirom na relaciju inkluzije. Iz svega se navedenog zaključeno je da se određene domene u svrhu numeričkog računanja svojstvenih vrijednosti i svojstvenih funkcija Laplaceovog operatora (to jest, najmanje svojstvene vrijednosti u slučaju ovog rada) mogu aproksimirati jednostavnijim, dovoljno sličnim i normaliziranim domenama. Kao jedan tip jednostavnijih domena koje mogu poprimiti razne oblike odabrani su poligoni. Zbog opaženih obilježja svojstvenih vrijednosti i svojstvenih funkcija Laplaceovog operatora, u svrhu njihova računanja modelom strojnog učenja bilo je poželjno poligone opisati karakterizacijama koje su dovoljno diskriminirajuće, ali i robusne na određene transformacije. U radu su ponuđene nude tri različite karakterizacije poligona, a u praktičnom nastavku rada proučavani su samo trokuti kao prototipi poligona. Za svaku od karakterizacija, nakon proučavanja literature i eksploratorne analize izrađenog skupa podataka, odabrana je jedna pogodna metoda strojnog učenja za početni problem. Tako su konstruirani dva modela linearne regresije, neuronska mreža i konvolucijska neuronska mreža. Nakon treniranja modela njihove su uspješnosti ispitane na testnim skupovima podataka i modeli su uspoređeni s obzirom na uspješnosti i brzine. Rezultati su u većini slučajeva bili obećavajući, ali generalizabilnost modela na složenije poligone nije potvrđena jer model koji se najjednostavnije može generalizirati---konvolucijska neuronska mreža---luči najlošije rezultate. Studying the theory behind the eigenvalues and the eigenfunctions of Dirichlet Laplacian it was observed that they possess some characteristics that allow us to simplify calculations to find them. First of all, they are independent of affine isometric transformations of sets (except that the domain of the eigenfunctions is obviously isometrically transformed). Also, scaling a set scales its eigenvalues by the factor of the square of the multiplicative inverse of the scaling factor, and the resulting eigenfunctions are compositions of the original eigenfunctions on the left and the scaling factor on the right. Furthermore, they depend continuously on the domain and the eigenvalues are monotonically decreasing in regard to the order of inclusion of sets. Considering all this it was then concluded that some domains can be approximated by other, simpler yet similar enough, normalised domains to numerically find the eigenvalues and the eigenfunctions of Dirichelt Laplacian (i. e. the minimal eigenvalue, as is the case in this paper) on them. Polygons were then chosen as an example of simple domains with many different shapes. Because of the observed characteristics of the eigenvalues and the eigenfunctions, to predict them on polygons using a machine learning model, polygons should be characterised in a way that discriminates them but is also resistant to specific transformations. In this paper three distinct characterisations were proposed, and then in the following part of the paper, the practical part, only triangles were observed as they can be considered prototypes of polygons. After studying the sources and conducting exploratory analysis of the generated dataset, a suitable machine learning method was chosen for each of the characterisations to solve the original problem. Subsequently two linear regression models, a neural network, and a convolutional neural network were designed. After the training their success was measured on testing datasets and they were compared for their successfulness and time consumption. In most cases the results were promising, although generalisability of the models to more complex polygons was not confirmed since the model that could be generalised most easily—the convolutional neural network—yeilds the worst results.

Održavanje i osiguravanje likvidnosti važan je aspekt u vođenju svakog uspješnog poslovanja. Kako bi određeno poduzeće bilo sposobno da pravovremeno podmiruje sve svoje financijske obveze po dospijeću, da svakodnevne aktivnosti izvršava bez financijskih teškoća i da neometano može planirati svoj budući rast i razvoj, nužno je da uspješno upravlja svojom likvidnošću. U ovom radu proučava se teorija korporativnog upravljanja likvidnošću putem kreditnih linija. Kreditne linije poduzeću omogućuju da koristi sredstva na zahtjev, odnosno onda kada i u kojoj mjeri su mu potrebna, a takva fleksibilnost uvelike doprinosi osiguranju likvidnosti poduzeća. Kreditne linije za banke su način na koji banka može pratiti i nadzirati osiguranje likvidnosti poduzeća. Nadgledanje banke a potom i rezultirajući opozivi kreditnih linija pomažu u kontroli poslovanja pogotovo kada poduzeće ima poticaje uložiti u projekte koji uvelike mogu ugroziti njegovu likvidnost. Teorija u radu pokazuje da će poduzeća s visokim rizikom likvidnosti vjerojatnije koristiti novčana sredstva umjesto kreditnih linija za upravljanje likvidnošću, jer se troškovi nadgledanog osiguranja likvidnosti povećavaju s rizikom likvidnosti. Također poduzeća s malim potrebama za osiguranjem od rizika vjerojatnije će koristiti kreditne linije u odnosu na novčana sredstva, a ta se poduzeća s manjom vjerojatnošću suočavaju s raznim ugovornim ograničenjima prilikom implementiranje kreditne linije, te zbog toga i s manjom vjerojatnošću opoziva od strane banke. Maintaining and providing liquidity is an important aspect in running any successful business. In order for a company to be able to timely meet all of its financial obligations, to carry out its everyday activities without financial difficulties and to be able to plan its future growth and development undisturbedly, it is necessary for a company to successfully manage its liquidity. This paper examines the theory of corporate liquidity management through credit lines. Credit lines allow the company to use funds on demand, that is, when and to what extent they need it, and such flexibility greatly contributes to ensuring the liquidity of the company. Credit lines for banks are a way for a bank to monitor and control the liquidity of a business. Bank supervision and the resulting credit line revocations help in controlling the business, especially when the company has incentives to invest in projects that can greatly impair its liquidity. The theory in the paper shows that companies with high liquidity risk are more likely to use cash instead of credit lines to manage liquidity, as the cost of monitored liquidity insurance increase with liquidity risk. Also, companies with low hedging needs are more likely to use credit lines relative to cash, and these companies are less likely to face various contractual constraints when implementing a line of credit and therefore they are less likely to face revocations from the bank.

U ovom radu opisane su faktorska analiza i eksplorativna faktorska analiza te njihova primjena na bazu podataka o srednjoškolcima i studentima. Cilj rada je smanjivanje dimenzije mjerenog prostora, tj. grupirati varijable u faktore. Prvi korak bio je napraviti analizu podataka koji su bili dobiveni putem internet ankete. Napravljena je deskriptivna statistika pitanja iz ankete, strukturni krugovi za kategorijske varijable te tablica za diskretne varijable u kojoj su podatci o minimumu, medijanu, maksimumu, aritmetičkoj sredini i standardnoj devijaciji. Eksplorativna faktorska analiza provedena je na 66 diskretnih varijabli i ekstrakcijom je dobiveno 8 faktora. Potom su napravljene ortogonalne i kose rotacije. Pomoću toga dobivena je faktorska struktura. Svaki od 8 faktora dobio je ime s obzirom koje su se varijable učitale u njega. This paper describes factor analysis and exploratory factor analysis and their application to database of high school and college student. The purpose of the paper was to reduce the dimension of the measured variables, to group them. The first step was to analyze the data that was obtained through an online survey. Descriptive statistics were created from the survey questions, pie charts for categorical variables and table for discrete variables with information about minimum, media, maximum, mean and standard deviation. Exploratory factor analysis was performed on 66 discrete variables and 8 factors were obtained by extraction. Then orthogonal and oblique rotations were implemented. That gave us factor structure. Every factor was given name considering the variables that load on to it.

Glavni cilj ovog rada je proučiti pojam \(R\)-modula gdje je \(R\) domena glavnih ideala. Rad se sastoji od dvaju poglavlja. U prvom poglavlju predstavljaju se osnovne algebarske strukture, grupe i prstenovi te se pojašnjavaju moduli. U drugom poglavlju detaljnije se predstavljaju moduli nad domenama glavnih ideala. U ovom radu, glavni naglasak stavljen je na konačno generirane module čiji rezultati proizlaze iz generaliziranih tvrdnji o Abelovim grupama. Strukturne teoreme za konačne Abelove grupe generalizirat ćemo na module nad domenama glavnih ideala, iz čega zaključujemo da se ne generaliziraju samo teoremi već i dokazi. The main objective of this paper is to study the notion of \(R\)-module where \(R\) is the principal ideal domain. This paper consists of two chapters, the first chapter presenting basic algebraic structures, groups and rings and explaining the modules. The second chapter presents the modules over principal ideal domain in more detail. The main emphasis of this paper is placed on the finitely generated modules whose results are derived from generalized statements about Abelian groups. We will generalize the structural theorems for finite Abelian groups to modules over principal ideal domain, from which we conclude that not only the theorems are generalized but also the proofs.

Na početku rada prisjećamo se osnovne podjele četverokuta, temeljnih pojmova i činjenica potrebnih za ostatak rada. U drugom poglavlju bavimo se Eulerovim teoremom koji je poopćenje relacije paralelograma, dajemo formulu za površinu općeg konveksnog četverokuta i proširenje Teorema o kosinusu. Dajemo i poopćenje dobro poznatog Ptolomejevog teorema. U trećem poglavlju definiramo težište i težišnice četverokuta, dajemo iskaz i dokaz Varignonovog teorema i njegove posljedice, te se bavimo drugim osobitim točkama u četverokutu. At the beginning of the paper, we recall the basic classification of the quadrilateral, the basic concepts and facts needed for the rest of the paper. In the second chapter we deal with the Euler’s theorem which is a generalization of the relation of parallelograms, we give a formula for the surface of a general convex quadrilateral and an extension of the cosine theorem. We also give a generalization of the well-known Ptolemy’s theorem. In the third chapter, we define the centroids and the medians of the quadrilateral, give a statement and proof of Varignon’s theorem and its consequences, and deal with other significant points in the quadrilateral.
