The study sought to investigate on teachers’ curriculum knowledge in teaching Christian Religious Studies among Senior High Schools of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. The population of the study was CRS teachers in Senior high schools in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. Through census sampling approach, all teachers of CRS were involved in filling the questionnaire. Analysis of data was done through descriptive statistics. The study established that teachers of CRS had high knowledge about the rationale of teaching CRS. It was also found that teachers of CRS had high knowledge of the aims of teaching CRS. It is therefore recommended that Universities that are mandated to train teachers of CRS in Ghana should include courses like curriculum studies in CRS emphasis, the rationale (philosophy and logic) and aims for the subject. This would ensure that teachers who teach CRS have adequate knowledge and the rationale and aims for teaching the subject. The Ghana Education Service (GES) in collaboration with the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) should organise regular in-service trainings for the teachers of CRS.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a group of developmental disabilities presenting difficulties in social interaction and language and an increased occurrence of cognitive, sensory, and motor gaps. Early intervention has been reported to improve the function of children with ASD. However, motor screening for children with ASD is difficult, as there are no specific tools for identifying this specific population. This study reports the results of using the Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS), which assesses gross infant motor skills from ages 0 to 18 months, as a screening tool for detecting motor developmental delay (MDD) in small children with ASD. Methods: This retrospective cohort study included all children registered at one health care organization in Israel born between 2011 and 2017 (N = 240,299). Early childhood MDD was defined as having at least one recorded developmental physiotherapy (DPT) visit before the age of 2 years. Reasons for referral to DPT and the results of using AIMS as an appropriate tool for revealing developmental delays in infants with ASD are presented. Results: ASD diagnosis was reported in 1821 children (prevalence rate 0.75%). Of those, 388 (odds ratio 4.1, 95% CI 3.6–4.6) children were referred to DPT. Children with ASD mostly received DPT for motor delays (46.19%), torticollis (19.52%), developmental delay (15.48%), and preterm birth (7.38%). The use of AIMS as an early detection tool suggests that more than 87% of children with ASD and MDD present with a developmental delay or risk for one when using this scale. Conclusions: The prevalence of ASD among children referred to DPT for MDD is higher than its prevalence within the general population. The most common reasons for a child with ASD to be referred for DPT services are MMDs. AIMS was found to be a sensitive tool to pinpoint relevant candidates for ASD screening among children treated in DPT. Possible effects of the study: The use of AIMS as a relevant assessment scale for this group of clients is recommended. Training DPTs in identifying initial ASD signs and developing their clinical reasoning abilities will increase the chance of implementing early intervention with this group of clients.

The popularity of cryptocurrencies has grown significantly in recent years, and they have become an important asset for internet trading. One of the main drawbacks of cryptocurrencies is the high volatility and fluctuation in value. The value of cryptocurrencies can change rapidly and dramatically, making them a risky investment. Cryptocurrencies are largely unregulated, which can exacerbate their volatility. The high volatility of cryptocurrencies has also led to a speculative bubble, with many investors buying and selling cryptocurrencies based on short-term price fluctuations rather than their underlying values. Therefore, how to reduce the fluctuation risk introduced by exchanges, transform uncertain prices to deterministic value, and promote the benefits of decentralized finance are critical for the future development of cryptos and Web 3.0. To address the issues, this paper proposes a novel theory as Automatic Increase Market Systems (AIMS) for cryptos, which could potentially be designed to automatically adjust the value of a cryptocurrency helping to stabilize the price and increase its value over time in a deterministic manner. We build a crypto, WISH (https://wishbank.wtf), based on AIMS in order to demonstrate how the automatic increase market system would work in practice, and how it would influence the supply of the cryptocurrency in response to market demand and finally make itself to be a stable medium of exchange, ensuring that the AIMS is fair and transparent.

This study focused on the attainment of the aims of the Christian Religious Studies Curriculum from the perspectives of Senior high school students in Cape Coast. Particular attention was given to the role the aims play in shaping the affective domains of the students. The descriptive cross-sectional survey design was employed to conduct the study. Data were collected with a 42-item questionnaire (with a Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.79) from 200 CRS students in Senior high schools in Cape Coast who were selected using the proportionate simple random sampling procedure. Descriptive statistical tools (frequency, percentages, mean and standard deviation) were used to analyse and interpret the data with the help of SPSS (version 25). Results from the study indicated that CRS students in Cape Coast have a low understanding of the biblical texts that are highlighted and read in the specified themes in the CRS curriculum. Also, CRS students in Cape Coast to a low extent adopt healthy attitudes and skills acquired from the Bible in their lives. It was therefore recommended that CRS teachers should also encourage and expose students to the need to develop and uphold good behaviours. Also, teachers of CRS should use approaches to teaching that foster understanding of passages that are read in class.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are valuable sources for the discovery of useful cancer biomarkers. This study explores the potential usefulness of tumor cell-derived EV membrane proteins as plasma biomarkers for early detection of colorectal cancer (CRC). EVs were isolated from the culture supernatants of four CRC cell lines by ultracentrifugation, and their protein profiles were analyzed by LC-MS/MS. Bioinformatics analysis of identified proteins revealed 518 EV membrane proteins in common among at least three CRC cell lines. We next used accurate inclusion mass screening (AIMS) in parallel with iTRAQ-based quantitative proteomic analysis to highlight candidate proteins and validated their presence in pooled plasma-generated EVs from 30 healthy controls and 30 CRC patients. From these, we chose 14 potential EV-derived targets for further quantification by targeted MS assay in a separate individual cohort comprising of 73 CRC and 80 healthy subjects. Quantitative analyses revealed significant increases in ADAM10, CD59 and TSPAN9 levels (2.19- to 5.26-fold, p < 0.0001) in plasma EVs from CRC patients, with AUC values of 0.83, 0.95 and 0.87, respectively. Higher EV CD59 levels were significantly correlated with distant metastasis (p = 0.0475), and higher EV TSPAN9 levels were significantly associated with lymph node metastasis (p = 0.0011), distant metastasis at diagnosis (p = 0.0104) and higher TNM stage (p = 0.0065). A two-marker panel consisting of CD59 and TSPAN9 outperformed the conventional marker CEA in discriminating CRC and stage I/II CRC patients from healthy controls, with AUC values of 0.98 and 0.99, respectively. Our results identify EV membrane proteins in common among CRC cell lines and altered plasma EV protein profiles in CRC patients and suggest plasma EV CD59 and TSPAN9 as a novel biomarker panel for detecting early-stage CRC.

Background: Clinicians and parents should closely monitor the neurodevelopment of very preterm infants. The aim of our study was to compare whether neurodevelopmental assessments completed by parents and those done by specialists yielded similar outcomes. We wanted to check whether the assessments completed by specialists and parents were comparable in outcomes to emphasize the important roles of early assessment of a child and of the parents in their child’s treatment and medical care. Another aim was to check whether or not the pull to sit maneuver from the Neonatal Behavioral Assessment Scale (NBAS) is still a parable item in well-known scales of neurodevelopment. Methods: We assessed 18 preterm neonates in the fourth month of corrected age with scales such as the General Movement Assessment (GMA), the Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS), and the pull to sit maneuver from the NBAS. Finally, we asked parents to complete the Ages and Stages Questionnaire, Third Edition (ASQ-3). Results: We found that the respective assessments completed by specialists and parents are comparable in outcomes. We also found that the pull to sit item from the NBAS was still a valid test since it showed similar findings to those from the AIMS, the GMA, and the ASQ-3. Conclusions: The pull to sit item from the NBAS is an important item for assessment of very preterm infants. Specialists should also take into consideration the input and concerns of parents when planning for treatment and intervention.

Introduction Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is defined as involuntary movements that can develop with prolonged antipsychotic use. Regular monitoring using the Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale (AIMS) is recommended to be conducted every 3 to 6 months for early recognition, although the AIMS is underused. Several studies have investigated risk factors that may be associated with TD, including age, sex, and long-term antipsychotic use. This study aimed to increase the monitoring and treatment of TD for those assessed to be at higher risk. Methods This was a prospective quality improvement study on the effectiveness of a psychiatric pharmacist–driven TD screening service (PPDTSS) in an inpatient psychiatric facility. Participants were composed of adult patients admitted between May and November 2018. Patients were screened daily by a clinical pharmacist and, if determined to be high risk based on studied risk factors, prioritized to receive a formal TD screening via the AIMS. The primary objective was to optimize standard of care by increasing the number of AIMS screenings conducted. The secondary objective was to increase the treatment of TD. Results A total of 402 patients were assessed prior to implementation of the PPDTSS, and 390 patients were screened following implementation. The PPDTSS increased the number of AIMS screenings attempted by 85.1% for high-risk individuals. Of the 75 patients who had an AIMS screening attempted in the postintervention group, 46 (61.3%) had an AIMS screening completed, of which 3 (6.5%) were positive. Discussion The results of this study demonstrate that psychiatric pharmacists can be used to improve the regular monitoring of patients at high risk for TD.

The purpose of this research is to analyse efficient use of contracting authority funds and reduction of its risks. Since all legal norms should be understood in the light of the aims of the law, this aim, together with others, is important in the interpretation of the Public Procurement Law. To interpret the aim correctly, it is important to understand its origins, history, how it is further reflected in law and how it is applied in practice. Therefore, authors analyse all those aspects using historical, descriptive, dogmatic and analytical research methods. Understanding of this principle is important in practice since it should be applied together with other principles, for example, equal treatment of tenderers and transparency, but it sometimes can even contradict them. Therefore, lack of understanding of this aim can lead to incorrect application of law. There is no publicly available research on this topic and, as one of the aims of the law, it is further developed and applied in practice. It is important for contracting authorities and tenderers to understand the meaning, possibilities and limitations of this principle. Therefore, this research is both original and practically applicable. As a result of the study, readers can gain more insight into the impact of this aim on public procurement.

Reliable availability to the internet and internet-based services is crucial in today’s world. DDoS attacks pose a severe threat to the availability of such online resources – especially owing to booters – virtually everyone can execute them nowadays. In order to appropriately protect oneself against such attacks, it is essential to have a good insight into the threats that exist. This paper proposes a novel hybrid model that combines postulates from various models on crime opportunity, analyzing the targeted victim and the targeted infrastructure in conjunction. We apply this model to analyze 27 distinct attack events that occurred in 2016. To construct this dataset, we utilize a longitudinal news database specific to DDoS-related events, aiding to select relevant attack events. We outline the procedure to replicate the dataset construction process. Looking at DDoS attacks solely as a technical issue is not enough, news articles can be an important resource in providing contextual relevance to this problem. Our analysis reveals several motives underlying DDoS attacks; economic reasons are but one of the possible aims. For this reason, we advise companies to also monitor the socio-cultural and political environment. In terms of infrastructure, visibility and accessibility are the main instigators for an attack. A holistic perspective is imperative to accurately map the threats that companies face and to take appropriate protective measures.

Background A minimal clinically important difference has not been established for the Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale in patients with tardive dyskinesia. Valbenazine is a vesicular monoamine transporter 2 inhibitor approved for the treatment of tardive dyskinesia in adults. Efficacy in randomized, double‐blind, placebo‐controlled trials was defined as the change from baseline in Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale total score (sum of items 1‐7). Objectives To estimate an minimal clinically important difference for the Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale using valbenazine trial data and an anchor‐based method. Methods Data were pooled from three 6‐week double‐blind, placebo‐controlled trials: KINECT (NCT01688037), KINECT 2 (NCT01733121), and KINECT 3 (NCT02274558). Valbenazine doses were pooled for analyses as follows: “low dose,” which includes 40 or 50 mg/day; and “high dose,” which includes 75 or 80 mg/day. Mean changes from baseline in Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale total score were analyzed in all participants (valbenazine‐ and placebo‐treated) with a Clinical Global Impression of Change‐Tardive Dyskinesia or Patient Global Impression of Change score of 1 (very much improved) to 3 (minimally improved). The purpose of the research as presented by us in this article, was to determine the aims with which teachers from various types of schools and of varied professional experience develop normative definitions of inclusive education. We paved the way to formulate these aims in the research tool with the analysis of literature on the subject, demonstrating three main trends in defining inclusive education. One hundred and eighty-eight teachers were surveyed, providing answers to the following research questions: 1/ domination of aims in definitions being developed and 2/ their correlations with professional experience and place of employment. We subjected them to a quantitative and correlational analysis. As a result, we determined that the aims related to meeting the needs of students with developmental disorders and those at risk of educational exclusion amongst the teacher definitions of inclusive education are dominant. In fact, the aims of the “every school for every student” idea of optimal inclusion are virtually missing. We determined that in the subject group, the type of school, teacher employment as well as their professional experience is related to the definition being developed.

There is discussion on how religious education (RE) in Dutch secondary education should look like and what the aims should be in case of a national curriculum. Until now the voice of the RE teachers themselves has not been listened to carefully. Therefore a quantitative questionnaire has been designed in order to study their views. The data show that Dutch RE teachers value RE as a subject which includes many divergent aims and foci. Teachers are of the opinion that also possible national final requirements should leave room for both knowledge and formation.

Introduction Despite comprehensive guidelines with high-grade evidence, postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) remains a frequent problem in anaesthesia care. Anaesthesia information management systems (AIMS) may aid clinicians in PONV prevention, but their benefit is critically dependent on the details of implementation into practice. This study aimed to examine strengths and weaknesses of the local AIMS-based algorithm in prevention of PONV. Material and methods This retrospective study was conducted in the post-anaesthesia care unit (PACU) of a university hospital and included 10 604 patients aged 18 or older who were followed up in the PACU (intracranial, obstetrical or cardiothoracic surgery excluded) from March 2013 until March 2014. The PONV incidence in PACU and AIMS data validity were analysed. Results Adherence to PONV guideline recommendations was considerably low, with only 5749 (54%) of the patients receiving correct PONV prophylaxis. Two thousand seven hundred sixty-six (26%) of the patients received an insufficient PONV prophylaxis, which was associated with an excess PONV incidence (11% vs. 4% with correct prophylaxis, p < 0.001) in the PACU. Two thousand four hundred forty-nine (23%) of all patients were discharged from the PACU with an insufficient PONV prophylaxis despite perioperative digital PONV prevention algorithms. Conclusions Adherence to PONV prophylaxis guidelines in the era of AIMS software and decision support is still remarkably low. The AIMS data usefulness depends on the user, the type of data input and the configuration of the software. Adherence to correct PONV prophylaxis should be re-evaluated systematically before discharge from PACU.

RESUMO A prematuridade é fator de risco para atraso do desenvolvimento motor, e recomenda-se o acompanhamento desses lactentes nos primeiros dois anos de vida. Verificar a confiabilidade intra e interexaminadores da Escala Motora Infantil de Alberta (EMIA) em ambulatório de seguimento de recém-nascidos de risco de uma maternidade pública. Estudo prospectivo realizado em ambulatório de seguimento de recém-nascidos de risco. As avaliações do desenvolvimento motor foram realizadas por meio da EMIA, por dois avaliadores previamente treinados. O Coeficiente de Correlação Intraclasse (CCI) foi utilizado para análise das confiabilidades. Para a comparação entre as avaliações intraexaminadores foi realizado o Teste T pareado ou Teste de Wilcoxon. O Teste T independente foi utilizado para comparar as avaliações interexaminadores. A correlação entre as variáveis foi analisada a partir do Teste de Pearson ou Spearman. Para avaliar a concordância entre os escores foi realizada análise de Bland Altman. Foram avaliados 31 recém-nascidos pré-termo (RNPT) com idade corrigida média de 8,47 ± 4,49. Não houve diferença significativa entre as avaliações intraexaminadores e interexaminadores. Os valores de CCI se mantiveram acima de 0,88 para a confiabilidade intraexaminadores e interexaminadores. Os escores apresentaram alta concordância, analisada por meio do teste de Bland Altman. EMIA apresentou adequada confiabilidade intra e interexaminadores para avaliação e acompanhamento de RNPT até 18 meses em ambulatório de seguimento de lactentes de risco. Verificar la fiabilidad intraevaluadores e interevaluadores de la Escala Motora Infantil de Alberta (EMIA) en un seguimiento ambulatorio de recién nacidos de riesgo en una maternidad pública brasileña. Estudio prospectivo realizado en un seguimiento ambulatorio de recién nacidos de riesgo. Para evaluar el desarrollo motor, la EMIA fue empleada por dos evaluadores previamente capacitados. Se utilizó el coeficiente de correlación intraclase (CCI) para analizar la fiabilidad. Para comparar las evaluaciones intraevaluadores, se utilizó la prueba T pareada o la prueba de Wilcoxon. La prueba T independiente se utilizó para comparar las evaluaciones interevaluadores. La correlación entre las variables se analizó mediante la prueba de Pearson o Spearman. Para evaluar la concordancia entre los puntajes, se aplicó el análisis de Bland Altman. Se evaluaron a 31 recién nacidos pretérmino (RNPT) con un promedio de edad media corregida de 8,47 ± 4,49. No hubo diferencias significativas entre las evaluaciones intraevaluadores e interevaluadores. Los valores de CCI se mantuvieron por encima de 0,88 para la fiabilidad intraevaluadores e interevaluadores. Los puntajes mostraron un alto nivel de concordancia, que se analizó mediante el Bland Altman. La EMIA apuntó una adecuada fiabilidad intra e interevaluadores para evaluar y monitorear los RNPT hasta 18 meses en seguimiento ambulatorio de lactantes de riesgo. To verify the properties of intra and inter-examiner measurements of AIMS in an outpatient follow-up clinic for newborns at risk in a public maternity hospital. Prospective study conducted in an outpatient follow-up of high-risk newborns. The Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) was used to analyze reliability. To compare the intra-examiner evaluations, the paired T-test or Wilcoxon test was performed. The independent T-test was used to compare inter-examiner assessments. The correlation between variables was analyzed using the Pearson or Spearman test. The Bland Altman test was performed to assess the concordance between the scores. 31 preterm infants with 8,47 ± 4,49 of corrected age were evaluated. There was no significant difference between the evaluations intra and inter-examiner. The ICC values remained above 0.88 for both intra and inter-examiner evaluation. The scores showed high agreement. AIMS has intra- and inter-examiner reliability for assessing and monitoring preterm newborns for up to 18 months in a follow-up clinic.

This study aimed to determine the long-term quality of life (QoL) in hemifacial spasm (HFS) patients after treating with Abo-botulinum toxin A (Abo-BTX). The study assessed the disease-specific QoL (hemifacial spasm questionnaire 30 items, HFS 30), the involuntary movements (abnormal involuntary movement scale, AIMS), general health QoL (Medical Outcomes 36-Item Short Form Health Survey, SF-36), and Depression (the Center of Epidemiologic Studies-Depression questionnaire, CES-D). A total of 74 HFS patients were enrolled from 2012 to 2017. The disease-specific QoL, involuntary movements, and the general health domain of SF 36 were significantly improved after injections of Abo-BTX A in the first few years (p &lt, 0.04), but significantly decreased at the fifth year of treatment without significant clinical resistance observed (p &lt, 0.001). Only the general health domain of SF 36 showed persistent improvement over five years (p = 0.02). In summary, Abo-BTX A can improved quality of life in the first few years, however only the general health domain of SF-36 showed significant improvement over five years (p = 0.02). No clinical resistance was observed.

Además, ayuda a completar el registro histórico, en ocasiones, limitado y con ello a entender el racismo estructural en la sociedad americana.

The reasons for education reforms – as a particular form of social reforms – are either consequentialist or non-consequentialist. However, the reasons for the education reforms that are briefly discussed from the perspective of the philosophy of education in the present paper are above all consequentialist. These are the reasons for proposed education reforms in EU countries whose strategic aim is equated with the enhancement of two values: creativity and innovation. It is supposed that these education reforms will have good effects and not that they are good in and of themselves. Therefore, although creativity and innovation might be seen as having intrinsic value, they are – in these education reforms – treated predominantly as instrumental values. It seems that the introduction of such education reforms can be understood as a decision founded not on causal explanation, but rather on the basis of a special type of teleological explanation, which has the logical form of a “practical syllogism”. In this case, the occurrence of an action is explained in terms of the goals and purposes of the agent; it shows that the agent did what s/he did because s/he tried to achieve a certain goal and believed that certain means were necessary or sufficient for achieving this goal.

Anthocyanins isolated from Vitis coignetiae Pulliat (Meoru in Korea) (AIMs) have various anti-cancer properties by inhibiting Akt and NF-κB which are involved in drug resistance. Cisplatin (CDDP) is one of the popular anti-cancer agents. Studies reported that MCF-7 human breast cancer cells have high resistance to CDDP compared to other breast cancer cell lines. In this study, we confirmed CDDP resistance of MCF-7 cells and tested whether AIMs can overcome CDDP resistance of MCF-7 cells. Cell viability assay revealed that MCF-7 cells were more resistant to CDDP treatment than MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells exhibiting aggressive and high cancer stem cell phenotype. AIMs significantly augmented the efficacy of CDDP with synergistic effects on MCF-7 cells. Molecularly, Western blot analysis revealed that CDDP strongly increased Akt and moderately reduced p-NF-κB and p-IκB and that AIMs inhibited CDDP-induced Akt activation, and augmented CDDP-induced reduction of p-NF-κB and p-IκB in MCF-7 cells. In addition, AIMs significantly downregulated an anti-apoptotic protein, XIAP, and augmented PARP-1 cleavage in CDDP-treated MCF-7 cells. Moreover, under TNF-α treatment, AIMs augmented CDDP efficacy with inhibition of NF-κB activation on MCF-7 cells. In conclusion, AIMs enhanced CDDP sensitivity by inhibiting Akt and NF-κB activity of MCF-7 cells that show relative intrinsic CDDP resistance.

Background Front-line health-care services are under increased demand when acute alcohol intoxication is most common, which is in night-time environments. Cities have implemented alcohol intoxication management services to divert the intoxicated away from emergency care. Objectives To evaluate the effectiveness, cost-effectiveness and acceptability to patients and staff of alcohol intoxication management services and undertake an ethnographic study capturing front-line staff’s views on the impact of acute alcohol intoxication on their professional lives. Methods This was a controlled mixed-methods longitudinal observational study with an ethnographic evaluation in parallel. Six cities with alcohol intoxication management services were compared with six matched control cities to determine effects on key performance indicators (e.g. number of patients in the emergency department and ambulance response times). Surveys captured the impact of alcohol intoxication management services on the quality of care for patients in six alcohol intoxication management services, six emergency departments with local alcohol intoxication management services and six emergency departments without local alcohol intoxication management services. The ethnographic study considered front-line staff perceptions in two cities with alcohol intoxication management services and one city without alcohol intoxication management services. Results Alcohol intoxication management services typically operated in cities in which the incidence of acute alcohol intoxication was greatest. The per-session average number of attendances across all alcohol intoxication management services was low (mean 7.3, average minimum 2.8, average maximum 11.8) compared with the average number of emergency department attendances per alcohol intoxication management services session (mean 78.8), and the number of patients diverted away from emergency departments, per session, required for services to be considered cost-neutral was 8.7, falling to 3.5 when ambulance costs were included. Alcohol intoxication management services varied, from volunteer-led first aid to more clinically focused nurse practitioner services, with only the latter providing evidence for diversion from emergency departments. Qualitative and ethnographic data indicated that alcohol intoxication management services are acceptable to practitioners and patients and that they address unmet need. There was evidence that alcohol intoxication management services improve ambulance response times and reduce emergency department attendance. Effects are uncertain owing to the variation in service delivery. Limitations The evaluation focused on health service outcomes, yet evidence arose suggesting that alcohol intoxication management services provide broader societal benefits. There was no nationally agreed standard operating procedure for alcohol intoxication management services, undermining the evaluation. Routine health data outcomes exhibited considerable variance, undermining opportunities to provide an accurate appraisal of the heterogenous collection of alcohol intoxication management services. Conclusions Alcohol intoxication management services are varied, multipartner endeavours and would benefit from agreed national standards. Alcohol intoxication management services are popular with and benefit front-line staff and serve as a hub facilitating partnership working. They are popular with alcohol intoxication management services patients and capture previously unmet need in night-time environments. However, acute alcohol intoxication in emergency departments remains an issue and opportunities for diversion have not been entirely realised. The nurse-led model was the most expensive service evaluated but was also the most likely to divert patients away from emergency departments, suggesting that greater clinical involvement and alignment with emergency departments is necessary. Alcohol intoxication management services should be regarded as fledgling services that require further work to realise benefit. Future work Research could be undertaken to determine if a standardised model of alcohol intoxication management services, based on the nurse practitioner model, can be developed and implemented in different settings. Future evaluations should go beyond the health service and consider outcomes more generally, especially for the police. Future work on the management of acute alcohol intoxication in night-time environments could recognise the partnership between health-care, police and ambulance services and third-sector organisations in managing acute alcohol intoxication. Background Admixed populations arise when two or more previously isolated populations interbreed. A powerful approach to addressing the genetic complexity in admixed populations is to infer ancestry. Ancestry inference including the proportion of an individual’s genome coming from each population and its ancestral origin along the chromosome of an admixed population requires the use of ancestry informative markers (AIMs) from reference ancestral populations. AIMs exhibit substantial differences in allele frequency between ancestral populations. Given the huge amount of human genetic variation data available from diverse populations, a computationally feasible and cost-effective approach is becoming increasingly important to extract or filter AIMs with the maximum information content for ancestry inference, admixture mapping, forensic applications, and detecting genomic regions that have been under recent selection. Results To address this gap, we present MI-MAAP, an easy-to-use web-based bioinformatics tool designed to prioritize informative markers for multi-ancestry admixed populations by utilizing feature selection methods and multiple genomics resources including 1000 Genomes Project and Human Genome Diversity Project. Specifically, this tool implements a novel allele frequency-based feature selection algorithm, Lancaster Estimator of Independence (LEI), as well as other genotype-based methods such as Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Random Forest (RF). We demonstrated that MI-MAAP is a useful tool in prioritizing informative markers and accurately classifying ancestral populations. LEI is an efficient feature selection strategy to retrieve ancestry informative variants with different allele frequency/selection pressure among (or between) ancestries without requiring computationally expensive individual-level genotype data. Conclusions MI-MAAP has a user-friendly interface which provides researchers an easy and fast way to filter and identify AIMs. MI-MAAP can be accessed at https://research.cchmc.org/mershalab/MI-MAAP/login/.

BackgroundThe international movement of used tyres is a major factor responsible for global introductions ofAedesinvasive mosquitoes (AIMs) (Diptera: Culicidae) that are major disease vectors (e.g. dengue, Zika, chikungunya and yellow fever). Surveillance methods are restricted by expense, availability and efficiency to detect all life stages. Currently, no tested method exists to screen imported used tyres for eggs in diapause, the life stage most at risk from accidental introduction. Here we test the efficiency of adhesive tape as an affordable and readily available material to screen tyres for eggs, testing its effect on hatch rate, larval development, DNA amplification and structural damage on the egg surface.ResultsWe demonstrated that the properties of adhesive tape can influence pick up of dormant eggs attached to dry surfaces. Tapes with high levels of adhesion, such as duct tape, removed eggs with high levels of efficiency (97% ± 3.14). Egg numbers collected from cleaned used tyres were found to explain larval hatch rate success well, particularly in subsequent larval to adult emergence experiments. The strength of this relationship decreased when we tested dirty tyres. Damage to the exochorion was observed following scanning electron microscopy (SEM), possibly resulting in the high variance in the observed model. We found that five days was the optimal time for eggs to remain on all tested tapes for maximum return on hatch rate success. Tape type did not inhibit amplification of DNA of eggs from three, five or ten days of exposure. Using this DNA, genotyping of AIMs was possible using species-specific markers.ConclusionsWe demonstrated for the first time that adhesive tapes are effective at removing AIM eggs from tyres. We propose that this method could be a standardised tool for surveillance to provide public health authorities and researchers with an additional method to screen tyre cargo. We provide a screening protocol for this purpose. This method has a global applicability and in turn can lead to increased predictability of introductions and improve screening methods at high risk entry points.

All or nothing? A study on children’s rights in Swedish teacher education. In 2020, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is incorporated into Swedish law. In the proposals for new legislation, capacity building was emphasized to generally develop knowledge about children’s rights among professionals at all levels. This article explores the content and aims related to children’s rights in syllabi for Swedish teacher education. 49 programme study plans and 313 syllabi at twelve universities were examined. Results suggest that the teaching of children’s rights in teacher education programs focuses on values rather than knowledge. University syllabi closely mirror national aims, often using exact wording with little effort to elaborate or concretize these aims. The content is expressed in general terms, and courses provide little guidance in what teachers need to know to be prepared for human rights education. Further, it seems that knowledge about children’s rights is considered more important for preschool and primary school teachers, than for teachers in secondary and upper secondary school.

Background The Motor Functional Development Scale for Young Children (DF-mot) is a developmental tool assessing both gross and fine motor skills in term infants. Aims To examine the concurrent validity of the DF-mot with the Alberta Infants Motor Scale (AIMS) in preterm infants and compare their ability in predicting scores on the Bayley Scales of Infant-Toddler Development (Bayley-III) at 12 months. Study design Retrospective cohort study. Subjects and outcome measures Hundred and eleven infants born at less than 32 weeks' gestation or with a birthweight less than 1500 g were assessed simultaneously on the DF-mot and the AIMS at age 3–5 months. Correlation analysis was used to determine the strength of association between the DF-mot and the AIMS. Among these, 62 were reassessed on the Bayley-III at age 9–12 months. Clinimetric properties were calculated to evaluate their ability to predict motor delay on the Bayley-III. Results The concurrent validity study found a good level of correlation between the two scales (r = 0.79). The predictive validity study showed good sensitivity and negative predictive value for the AIMS 25th centile and the DF-mot -1 standard deviation to predict motor delay at 12 months (respectively Se = 100% and 84%; NPV = 100% and 77.8%). Conclusions The DF-mot is a valid instrument with good predictive validity in preterm infants, suggesting it can be used as a clinical useful tool to assess motor development.

This bachelor´s thesis is aimed at inspecting the needs of participants of a language summer camp, where a special attention is paid to the area of the English language. The aim of the thesis is to provide the analysis of the needs of participants, which will enable the course leaders to revise the current syllabus. This thesis has two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is focused on the terminology of needs and wishes, their reflexion and analysis. At the same time, there are defined aims, the language ones and also others, which should be accomplished during the language camp. The practical part contains qualitative research, wherein pen and paper interviews are analysed, as with participants so with their lectors. In the end a confrontation of both types of the interviews and the final analysis of achieved needs and aims is presented.

Проаналізовано сучасні підручники англомовної підготовки фахівців туристичної галузі стосовно достатності та ефективності вправ для навчання монологу англійською мовою, що засвідчило певну невідповідність змісту навчальних матеріалів завданням підготовки майбутніх спеціалістів, а отже, й необхідність уточнення цілей і змісту формування компетентності в монологічному мовленні. Конкретизовано практичну, професійну, освітню, розвивальну, виховну цілі навчання монологу. Уточнено предметний і процесуальний аспекти змісту формування професійно орієнтованої англомовної компетентності в монологічному мовленні. Проаналізовано компоненти предметного аспекту: сфери спілкування, мовленнєві ситуації та ролі, невербальні засоби комунікації, комунікативні цілі, теми, проблеми, мовленнєвий, мовний, лінгвосоціокультурний матеріал, навчальні і комунікативні стратегії для оволодіння і реалізації монологічного мовлення. З урахуванням потенційних професійних обов’язків фахівців туристичної галузі, посад, що вони можуть обіймати, визначено типові комунікативні ситуації, в яких реалізується монологічне мовлення, номенклатуру комунікативних ролей, уточнено наміри мовців і стилі мови, типові в певних ситуаціях. У межах процесуального аспекту обґрунтовано вміння в монологічному мовленні, а також декларативні та процедурні знання, якими потрібно оволодіти студентам для реалізації ефективної комунікативної діяльності., The analysis of modern textbooks for English language training of specialists in the field of tourism has demonstrated lack of correlation between the contents of learning materials and the tasks of future specialists’ training, and, therefore, the necessity to determine the aims and contents of teaching professionally oriented monologue speech. Practical, professional, educational, developmental, instructional aims of forming professionally oriented English language competence in monological speech of specialists in the field of tourism have been specified. The aims define the contents of learning which is regarded as a complex hierarchical structure which summarises what students should learn. Subject and procedural aspects of the contents of forming professionally oriented English language competence in monological speech of specialists in the field of tourism have been determined. The components of subject aspect – spheres of communication (it has been determined that professional sphere dominates), situations and roles, nonverbal means of communication, communicative purposes, topics, texts, language and linguosociocultural material, learning and communicative strategies used to speak effectively – have been analyzed. Taking into account typical professional duties of specialists in the field of tourism, and the positions they may occupy, there have been determined typical communicative situations, roles, intentions of the speakers and styles. For example, communicative situation –presentation of the company, tourist product in front of the audience; communicative role – manager of tourism; communicative intentions – to present the information, describe the advantages, present facts and data, persuade the audience, urge to action; style – official. Direct (mnemonic and cognitive), indirect (metacognitive, social and affective) learning strategies as well as communicative (compensation) strategies have been specified. In terms of procedural aspect monological skills as well as declarative and procedural knowledge which students should master to communicate effectively have been determined. Further research should be focused on selecting learning materials to form professionally oriented English language competence in monological speech of specialists in the area of tourism.

Background: Interindividual variability in gross motor development of infants is substantial and challenges the interpretation of motor assessments. Longitudinal research can provide insight into variability in individual gross motor trajectories. Purpose: To model a gross motor growth curve of healthy term-born infants from 3.5 to 15.5 months with the Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS) and to explore groups of infants with different patterns of development. Methods: A prospective longitudinal study including six assessments with the AIMS. A Linear Mixed Model analysis (LMM) was applied to model motor growth, controlled for covariates. Cluster analysis was used to explore groups with different pathways. Growth curves for the subgroups were modelled and differences in the covariates between the groups were described and tested. Results: In total, data of 103 infants was included in the LMM which showed that a cubic function (F(1,571) = 89.68, p < 0.001) fitted the data best. None of the covariates remained in the model. Cluster analysis delineated three clinically relevant groups: 1) Early developers (32%), 2) Gradual developers (46%), and 3) Late bloomers (22%). Significant differences in covariates between the groups were found for birth order, maternal education and maternal employment. Conclusion: The current study contributes to knowledge about gross motor trajectories of healthy term born infants. Cluster analysis identified three groups with different gross motor trajectories. The motor growth curve provides a starting point for future research on motor trajectories of infants at risk and can contribute to accurate screening.

It is established, that the management of commercial assortment (range) of consumer goods should be implemented through an integrated (complex) management system, through the implementation of a range of special functions. This range of special functions includes several ensurance functions which, in the case of management of the commercial assortment of consumer goods, are: logistical and financial provision for the generation and systematic improvement of commercial assortment of consumer goods; staffing, specialised training and continuing professional education of the personnel; technological assurance of the systematic formation and improvement of the commercial assortment of consumer goods; methodological provision of systematic formation and improvement of commercial assortment of consumer goods; legal assurance of systematic formation and improvement of commercial assortment of consumer goods; information assurance of systematic formation and improvement of commercial assortment of consumer goods; ideological assurance of systematic formation and improvement of commercial assortment of consumer goods. The development of a complex system for management of the commercial range of consumer goods implies, first of all, formulation of definition and determination of content (aim, tasks and elements) of each special and specific system functions. This paper contains definitions and content of special functions supporting the complex system for the management of commercial range of consumer goods, the implementation of which is aimed at ensuring the effective management of commercial range of consumer goods in the retail trade network.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the student mobility programs of the three initiatives – in Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization-Regional Institution of Higher Education and Development, University Mobility in Asia and Pacific (UMAP), and Campus Asia – and provide a comparative analysis of the respective programs in terms of the role of government, institutional involvement, quality assurance, and challenges. In addition, the paper will assess their impacts on higher education regionalization by regulatory models toward the end of the paper. Design/methodology/approach The study adopts qualitative document analysis as a major research method to explore the developmental models of three student mobility programs. Document analysis is an approach used to gather and review the content of existing written documentation related to the study in order to extract pieces of information in a rigorous and systematic manner. Findings ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS), Collective Action for Mobility Program of University Student in Asia (CAMPUS Asia), and UMAP student mobility schemes have a shared purpose in higher education regionalization, but with different regulatory frameworks and Functional, Organizational, and Political approach models. AIMS and CAMPUS Asia as a strong network and government-led initiatives adopt a combination of functional, organizational, and political approaches; UMAP provides university-driven regional mobility programs with a hybridized force. However, all three of them face the same challenges at regional and national levels, such as different national regulation, coordination among participants, and implementation of credit transfer schemes. Practical implications The scale of three student mobility programs is still low, which results in limited impact on higher education regionalization in Asia. However, a stronger decision-making model and increased financial support to universities and students are desirable for the creation of a sustainable and effective network. Originality/value This is an original research and makes a great contribution to Asian nations.

Sports identity refers to th degree to wich person identifies with his role as an athlete, as well as the level of importance, strength or intensity, and exclusivity that are associated with thar role, which is maintained bye the athlete and submitted environmental influences. The aim of the present study was to analyzethe psychometric propieties of the Athletic Identity Measurement Scale for validation to the Mexican context. The results show appropriate characteristics of Spor Identity Scale. Factor analysis showed a three-factor structure that explained 59% of variance, in line with multidimensional models propose. The model shows adequate fit index, and appropriate correlation between items and sub-scales.

To meet global demands towards food security, safety as well as sustainable agriculture and food systems innovative approaches are inevitable. Despite the growing body of literature in both innovation research and in values and aims, what has been explored to a lesser extent is the bridging link between these areas. This study represents a first step in addressing this relationship. Policy- and decision-makers foster sustainable innovation in agriculture, since on-farm innovation and innovation adoption have attracted their attention as a means of enhancing competitiveness as well as socially and environmentally benign farming also benefiting rural areas. By using a negative binomial model we explore the relationship between farmers&rsquo, innovativeness and those values and aims which guide farmers&rsquo, farm-management decisions as well as other farm/farmer characteristics. Based on a sample of 174 Austrian farmers agricultural education is found to be an essential driver of innovativeness. Regarding the different values we find that self-direction and hedonistic values, in contrast to achievement and economic, are associated with more innovative capabilities. In conclusion, we see a need to foster self-direction and hedonistic narratives in policy and extension service, together with reducing the focus on an economic angle to promote farmers&rsquo, innovation capabilities.

Inference of biogeographic origin is an important factor in clinical, population and forensic genetics. The information provided by AIMs (Ancestry Informative Markers) can allow the differentiation of major continental population groups, and several AIM panels have been developed for this purpose. However, from these major population groups, Eurasia covers a wide area between two continents that is difficult to differentiate genetically. These populations display a gradual genetic cline from West Europe to South Asia in terms of allele frequency distribution. Although differences have been reported between Europe and South Asia, Middle East populations continue to be a target of further investigations due to the lack of genetic variability, therefore hampering their genetic differentiation from neighboring populations. In the present study, a custom-built ancestry panel was developed to analyze North African and Middle Eastern populations, designated the 'NAME' panel. The NAME panel contains 111 SNPs that have patterns of allele frequency differentiation that can distinguish individuals originating in North Africa and the Middle East when combined with a previous set of 126 Global AIM-SNPs.

Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is a distressing and disabling movement disorder that occurs with the use of chronic neuroleptic medications. TD is defined as involuntary athetoid or choreiform movements of head, trunk or limbs. Tongue, lower face, jaw, and extremities are commonly involved but pharyngeal, diaphragmatic, or truncal muscles are also sometimes involved affecting breathing, swallowing, speech, posture, gait, and mobility of an individual. TD is a debilitating movement disorder that requires timely intervention. Subtle tongue movements, tic-like facial movements or increased blink frequency could be some of the initial manifestations of TD. Our article is focused on the new advents in treating TD, their efficacy, and tolerability with emphasizing their side effect profile. The implication of a genetic marker vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT2), helped in investigating VMAT2 inhibitors for alleviating TD. Among the modalities tested, only VMAT2 inhibitors reported efficacy. However, the outcome of long-term use and its side effect profile can only be determined with longer studies utilizing large set data. More clinical trials are required to explore individual drug efficacy and their long-term adverse effects. We aim to provide an overview of TD management, illustrating the priority of VMAT2 inhibitors and to determine the importance of selecting an optimal medication. A search through PubMed with terms "Tardive dyskinesia" and "VMAT2 inhibitors" was carried out. Several treatment modalities were tested to control the symptoms of TD with limited benefit. However, VMAT2 inhibitors showed improvement in the Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale (AIMS) rating scale for TD. Acknowledging recent research literature on professionalism and religious education across Europe, the article examines the scholars&rsquo, and senior professionals&rsquo, views on the curricula aims and objectives in religious education in Finland. Through asking the professionals&rsquo, views on the aims of RE in relation to supporting of child&rsquo, s growth and development on one hand and the societal aims of RE on the other, the findings were thematically classified into the following categories. Firstly, the aims regarding the supporting of child&rsquo, s growth and development were focused on literacy on religions and worldviews, increasing the understanding on oneself and others, personal growth, and the skills for global citizenship. From the societal perspective, RE was seen important for supporting the understanding as literacy, understanding as empathy, and competences for global citizenship. Finally, as regards the educational model of teaching about religions, these professionals held somewhat varied views. Some favoured an RE model based on teaching groups reflecting children&rsquo, s own worldview affiliations, others supported whole-class instruction, and still others a hybrid model combining elements of both. However, the way in which the instruction is implemented and the position from which religions are examined in education were perceived to be in a key role in this, whatever the formal structures for instruction.

We study the influence of daily routines of Dutch academic institutions on the number of DDoS attacks targeting their infrastructures. We hypothesise that the attacks are motivated and harness the postulates of Routine Activity Theory (RAT) from criminology to analyse the data. We define routine periods in order to group days with similar activities and use 2.5 years of NetFlow alerts data measured by SURFnet to compare the number of alerts generated during each of these periods. Our analysis shows clear correlation between academic schedules and attack patterns on academic institutions. This leads us to believe that most of these attacks are not random and are initiated by someone who might benefit by disrupting scheduled educational activities.

А це можливо лише за умови застосування ефективних методів та засобів збирання, передачі, обробки, зберігання та представлення інформації про предметну область у формі відповідної інформаційної технології підтримки прийняття рішень.Питання, на основі яких закономірностей формуються та реалізуються визначені інформаційні процеси суб’єктом управління та відповідною інформаційною технологією, потребує дослідження і вирішення.

The diploma thesis deals with the influence of art education on the development of key competences within the curriculum for the elementary school. The thesis explores the potential of this discipline and the possibility to apply it to the development and strengthening of cognitive functions, self-confidence, social and communication skills in children in the elderly school age. The first theoretical part focuses on the concept of art education and its present currents in relation to both the changing educational content and some of the problems encountered in common school practice. Particular attention is paid to the animo-centric approach to which the author reports, and at the same time he feels the need to define the boundary between developing competencies and solving specific problems of individual pupils or classroom dynamics, between artefiletics and activities that approach their approach to artetherapy. The second part elaborates the findings of in-depth interviews with experts in pedagogy and psychology that describe the experience with artefiletics, artetherapy and pedagogical work in school and their potential to develop key competencies. Çevre sorunlarının sebep olduğu bazı sonuçların evrenselliği anlaşıldıktan sonra global anlamda bir çevre bilinci uyanmaya başlamıştır. ‟Çevre Eğitimi İçin Uygun Animasyon Filmlerin Belirlenmesi ve Fen Bilimleri Dersi Öğretim Programı ile İlişkilendirilmesi‟ isimli araştırmanın amacı, geleceğimizi tehdit eden bu sorunların önüne geçmek için ortaokul öğrencilerine çevre eğitimi verilirken hangi animasyon filmlerin kullanılabileceği konusunda yol göstermektir. Bu amaçla araştırma üç bölüme ayrılmıştır. Birinci bölümde çevre, çevre hakkı ve çevre eğitimi genel olarak tanımlanırken, Tiflis Bildirgesi'ne göre çevre eğitiminin hedef, amaç ve esasları doğrultusunda çevre eğitimindeki kazanımlar açıklanmıştır. İkinci bölümde canlandırma sineması, Türk ve Dünya sinemasındaki tarihi, animasyon teknikleri, çizgi film ve çocuk ilişkisine yer verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise IMDb, IMDb‟de yer alan en popüler 250 animasyon film ve bunlardan çevre kazanımlarını içeren animasyon filmlerin analizlerine yer verilmiştir. Araştırmanın temel veri toplama yöntemi nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman analizidir. Tiflis Bildirgesine göre çevre eğitimi ile ilgili hangi kazanımlar, hangi seviyede, hangi animasyon filmler ile aktarılabilecektir? Ortaokul fen öğretim programında yer alan çevre kazanımları nelerdir? En popüler 250 animasyon film içerisinde çevre temalı olanlar hangileridir? gibi sorulara cevaplar bulunmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, fen bilimleri öğretim programında yer alan hangi çevre kazanımının hangi animasyon film ile ilişkilendirilebileceğine dair bir öneri listesi sunulmuştur., Environmental problems are the product of a false idea that arises from the fact that people do not show the necessary importance to nature and act only as if they have their own right to life. After recognizing the universality of the consequences of some environmental problems, a global environmental awareness began to awaken. The aim of the research named “Identifying the animated films related to environmental education and associating them with the science course education program” is to guide the secondary school students about which animated films can be used in environmental education to prevent these problems that threaten our future. For this purpose the research is divided to 3 chapters. In the first chapter, the environment, environmental rights and environmental education are defined in general, and according to the Tbilisi Declaration, the achievements in environmental education are explained in line with its objectives, aims and principles of environmental education.In the second part, animation cinema and its history in Turkish and World cinema, animation techniques, cartoon and child relationship are given. In the third part, the analysis of the IMDb, the most popular 250 animated films in IMDb, and their environmental achievements are given.The main data collection method of the research is document analysis which is one of the qualitative research methods. In the research it is tried to find the answers of the questions like “According to the Tbilisi Declaration, which achievements, level and animation films can be transferred about environmental education?”, “What are the environmental achievements in the secondary school science program?” and“Which of the 250 most popular animated films are environmentally themed?” As a result of the research, a list of suggestions about which animation films are related to the achievements of science education programis presented.
