The West-Bohemian/Vogtland region (Germany/Czech Republic) is well known for its frequent intraplate swarm activity related to fluid flow within the crust. Previous studies found that non-double-couple components (non-DC: isotropic, CLVD) contribute significantly to the seismic moment tensors of these events. They were interpreted as tensile faulting associated with the migration of deep magmatic fluids through the crust. However, so far the results are restricted to a few larger events. The accurate and precise determination of non-DC components during waveform inversion for moment tensors is difficult, especially for smaller magnitude events (MIn earlier synthetic studies the joint inversion of translational and rotational waveforms improved the resolution of the moment tensor. In this project “NonDC-BoVo” – funded within the frame of the ICDP EGER project – two rotational sensors were deployed collocated with translational seismometers. The acquired data present one of the first examples using field data to invert waveforms for the moment tensor. The sensors show a good sensitivity even for low magnitude events. In seven months, the “Seismologie-Verbund zur Erdbebenbeobachtung in Mitteldeutschland” reports 521 events occurring within a distance of up to 30 km.Here, we present data examples together with an estimation of the magnitude of completeness from rotational recordings. Based on the signal-noise-ratio, we estimate a magnitude of completeness of around 0.3 for the rotational data compared to -0.7 from the catalogue. We present first data examples and an estimation of the magnitude of completeness for two BlueSeis-3A rotational seismometers deployed in the West-Bohemia/Vogtland region. The sensors show a surprisingly good sensitivity even for low magnitude events. In seven months, the "Seismologie-Verbund zur Erdbebenbeobachtung in Mitteldeutschland" reported 521 events occurring within a distance of up to 30 km. Based on the signal-noise-ratio, we estimate a magnitude of completeness around a local magnitude of 0.3 for the rotational sensors compared to the completeness of the catalog of -0.7. Moreover, we found that the transversal translation corresponds well to the vertical rotational component for a phase velocity of 2000 m/s and frequencies of 10 to 20 Hz. The data are intended to complement waveform inversions for seismic moment tensors. The study area is characterized by recurring seismic swarms, which are presumably driven by the migration of mantle fluids through the crust. In order to better understand the role of fluids in the earthquake mechanim a good resolution of the non-double-couple (i.e. volumetric and tensile) components of the seismic moment tensor is needed. In that regard, adding rotational data to the inversion has been shown beneficial in synthetic studies. International audience; Rotational seismology opens a new avenue to study the deep interior of the Earth. Using data from the Wettzell Observatorium, Germany, where a ring laser gyroscope and a 3-component translational broadband seismometer are co-located, we report the presence of clear S, ScS and SdS signals on both rotational and translational seismograms. Using S wave arrivals, we propose a new methodology to extract information on velocity changes in the Earth mantle and we show that, by combining both translational and rotational data, we are able to solve the well known velocity-depth ambiguity inherent to classical inverse problems. The methodology is validated using ray theory and 2.5D finite-difference synthetics. We provide a proof-of-concept showing that future studies of the Earth's deep interior can be improved by combining translational and rotational records.

Even though micropolar theories are widely applied for engineering applications such as the design of metamaterials, applications in the study of the Earth’s interior still remain limited and in particular in seismology. This is due to the lack of understanding of the required elastic material parameters present in the theory as well as the eigenfrequency $\omega _r$ which is not observed in seismic data. By showing that the general dynamic equations of the Timoshenko’s beam is a particular case of the micropolar theory we are able to connect micropolar elastic parameters to physically measurable quantities. We then present an alternative micropolar model that, based on the same physical basis as the original model, circumvents the problem of the original eigenfrequency $\omega _r$ laking in seismological data. Reducing wind turbine noise recorded at seismological stations promises to lower the conflict between renewable energy producers and seismologists. Seismic noise generated by the movement of wind turbines has been shown to travel large distances, affecting seismological stations used for seismic monitoring and/or the detection of seismic events. In this study, we use advanced 3D numerical techniques to study the possibility of using structural changes in the ground on the wave path between the wind turbine and the seismic station in order to reduce or mitigate the noise generated by the wind turbine. Testing a range of structural changes around the foundation of the wind turbine, such as open and filled cavities, we show that we are able to considerably reduce the seismic noise recorded by placing empty circular trenches approx. 10 m away from the wind turbines. We show the expected effects of filling the trenches with water. In addition, we study how relatively simple topographic elevations influence the propagation of the seismic energy generated by wind turbines and find that topography does help to reduce wind-turbine-induced seismic noise., Finanziert durch den Open-Access-Publikationsfonds der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster (WWU Münster).

Seismic events produced by block rotations about vertical axis occur in many geodynamic contexts. In this study, we show that these rotations can be accounted for using the proper theory, namely micropolar theory, and a new asymmetric moment tensor can be derived. We then apply this new theory to the Kaikōura earthquake (2016/11/14), Mw 7.8, one of the most complex earthquakes ever recorded with modern instrumental techniques. Using advanced numerical techniques, we compute synthetic seismograms including a full asymmetric moment tensor and we show that it induces measurable differences in the waveforms proving that seismic data can record the effects of the block rotations observed in the field. We present the results of P-to-S receiver function analysis to improve the 3D image of the sedimentary layer, the upper crust, and lower crust in the Pannonian Basin area. The Pannonian Basin hosts deep sedimentary depocentres superimposed on a complex basement structure and it is surrounded by mountain belts. We processed waveforms from 221 three-component broadband seismological stations. As a result of the dense station coverage, we were able to achieve so far unprecedented spatial resolution in determining the velocity structure of the crust. We applied a three-fold quality control process; the first two being applied to the observed waveforms and the third to the calculated radial receiver functions. This work is the first comprehensive receiver function study of the entire region. To prepare the inversions, we performed station-wise H-Vp/Vs grid search, as well as Common Conversion Point migration. Our main focus was then the S-wave velocity structure of the area, which we determined by the Neighborhood Algorithm inversion method at each station, where data were sub-divided into back-azimuthal bundles based on similar Ps delay times. The 1D, nonlinear inversions provided the depth of the discontinuities, shear-wave velocities and Vp/Vs ratios of each layer per bundle, and we calculated uncertainty values for each of these parameters. We then developed a 3D interpolation method based on natural neighbor interpolation to obtain the 3D crustal structure from the local inversion results. We present the sedimentary thickness map, the first Conrad depth map and an improved, detailed Moho map, as well as the first upper and lower crustal thickness maps obtained from receiver function analysis. The velocity jump across the Conrad discontinuity is estimated at less than 0.2 km/s over most of the investigated area. We also compare the new Moho map from our approach to simple grid search results and prior knowledge from other techniques. Our Moho depth map presents local variations in the investigated area: the crust-mantle boundary is at 20–26 km beneath the sedimentary basins, while it is situated deeper below the Apuseni Mountains, Transdanubian and North Hungarian Ranges (28–33 km), and it is the deepest beneath the Eastern Alps and the Southern Carpathians (40–45 km). These values reflect well the Neogene evolution of the region, such as crustal thinning of the Pannonian Basin and orogenic thickening in the neighboring mountain belts. The region around the town Albstadt, SW Germany, was struck by four damaging earthquakes with magnitudes greater than 5 during the last century. These earthquakes occurred along the Albstadt Shear Zone (ASZ), which is characterized by more or less continuous microseismicity. As there are no visible surface ruptures that may be connected to the fault zone, we study its characteristics by its seismicity distribution and faulting pattern. We use the earthquake data of the state earthquake service of Baden-Württemberg from 2011 to 2018 and complement it with additional phase picks beginning in 2016 at the AlpArray and StressTransfer seismic networks in the vicinity of the ASZ. This extended data set is used to determine new minimum 1-D seismic vp and vs velocity models and corresponding station delay times for earthquake relocation. Fault plane solutions are determined for selected events, and the principal stress directions are derived. The minimum 1-D seismic velocity models have a simple and stable layering with increasing velocity with depth in the upper crust. The corresponding station delay times can be explained well by the lateral depth variation of the crystalline basement. The relocated events align about north–south with most of the seismic activity between the towns of Tübingen and Albstadt, east of the 9∘ E meridian. The events can be separated into several subclusters that indicate a segmentation of the ASZ. The majority of the 25 determined fault plane solutions feature an NNE–SSW strike but NNW–SSE-striking fault planes are also observed. The main fault plane associated with the ASZ dips steeply, and the rake indicates mainly sinistral strike-slip, but we also find minor components of normal and reverse faulting. The determined direction of the maximum horizontal stress of 140–149∘ is in good agreement with prior studies. Down to ca. 7–8 km depth SHmax is bigger than SV; below this depth, SV is the main stress component. The direction of SHmax indicates that the stress field in the area of the ASZ is mainly generated by the regional plate driving forces and the Alpine topography.

The recent development of ambient noise tomography, in combination with the increasing number of permanent seismic stations and dense networks of temporary stations operated during passive seismic experiments, provides a unique opportunity to build the first high-resolution 3-D shear wave velocity (vS) model of the entire crust of the Bohemian Massif (BM). This paper provides a regional-scale model of velocity distribution in the BM crust. The velocity model with a cell size of 22 km is built using a conventional two-step inversion approach from Rayleigh wave group velocity dispersion curves measured at more than 400 stations. The shear velocities within the upper crust of the BM are ∼0.2 km s−1 higher than those in its surroundings. The highest crustal velocities appear in its southern part, the Moldanubian unit. The Cadomian part of the region has a thinner crust, whereas the crust assembled, or tectonically transformed in the Variscan period, is thicker. The sharp Moho discontinuity preserves traces of its dynamic development expressed in remnants of Variscan subductions imprinted in bands of crustal thickening. A significant feature of the presented model is the velocity-drop interface (VDI) modelled in the lower part of the crust. We explain this feature by the anisotropic fabric of the lower crust, which is characterised as vertical transverse isotropy with the low velocity being the symmetry axis. The VDI is often interrupted around the boundaries of the crustal units, usually above locally increased velocities in the lowermost crust. Due to the north-west–south-east shortening of the crust and the late-Variscan strike-slip movements along the north-east–south-west oriented sutures preserved in the BM lithosphere, the anisotropic fabric of the lower crust was partly or fully erased along the boundaries of original microplates. These weakened zones accompanied by a velocity increase above the Moho (which indicate an emplacement of mantle rocks into the lower crust) can represent channels through which portions of subducted and later molten rocks have percolated upwards providing magma to subsequently form granitoid plutons.

O cinema costumeiramente capta discussões e fenômenos contemporâneos da sociedade para explorá-los nas telonas. Dessa forma, as migrações internas brasileiras foram tematizadas em roteiros cinematográficos ao longo do século XX. Assim sendo, nossa proposta é discutir e analisar as representações cinematográficas da migração nordestina em direção ao Sudeste brasileiro, buscando entender como as películas representaram o lugar de origem do migrante se contrapondo ao local de destino da sua migração, em uma relação de alteridade entre o nativo (eu) e o estrangeiro (outro) e assim podermos compreender as disputas representacionais de hegemonias regionais no Brasil. Neste trabalho, escolhemos a década de 1980 como recorte temporal, uma vez que ela possui três produções nacionais que trouxeram o migrante como protagonista, a saber: O homem que virou suco (1980); As aventuras de um paraíba (1982); e O baiano fantasma (1984).

We compiled a dataset of continuous recordings from the temporary and permanent seismic networks to compute the high-resolution 3D S-wave velocity model of the Southeastern Alps, the western part of the external Dinarides, and the Friuli and Venetian plains through ambient noise tomography. Part of the dataset is recorded by the SWATH-D temporary network and permanent networks in Italy, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia between October 2017 and July 2018. We computed 4050 vertical component cross-correlations to obtain the empirical Rayleigh wave Green’s functions. The dataset is complemented by adopting 1804 high-quality correlograms from other studies. The fast-marching method for 2D surface wave tomography is applied to the phase velocity dispersion curves in the 2–30 s period band. The resulting local dispersion curves are inverted for 1D S-wave velocity profiles using the non-perturbational and perturbational inversion methods. We assembled the 1D S-wave velocity profiles into a pseudo-3D S-wave velocity model from the surface down to 60 km depth. A range of iso-velocities, representing the crystalline basement depth and the crustal thickness, are determined. We found the average depth over the 2.8–3.0 and 4.1–4.3 km/s iso-velocity ranges to be reasonable representations of the crystalline basement and Moho depths, respectively. The basement depth map shows that the shallower crystalline basement beneath the Schio-Vicenza fault highlights the boundary between the deeper Venetian and Friuli plains to the east and the Po-plain to the west. The estimated Moho depth map displays a thickened crust along the boundary between the Friuli plain and the external Dinarides. It also reveals a N-S narrow corridor of crustal thinning to the east of the junction of Giudicarie and Periadriatic lines, which was not reported by other seismic imaging studies. This corridor of shallower Moho is located beneath the surface outcrop of the Permian magmatic rocks and seems to be connected to the continuation of the Permian magmatism to the deep-seated crust. We compared the shallow crustal velocities and the hypocentral location of the earthquakes in the Southern foothills of the Alps. It revealed that the seismicity mainly occurs in the S-wave velocity range between ∼3.1 and ∼3.6 km/s.

SUMMARYProbing seismic anisotropy of the lithosphere provides valuable clues on the fabric of rocks. We present a 3-D probabilistic model of shear wave velocity and radial anisotropy of the crust and uppermost mantle of Europe, focusing on the mountain belts of the Alps and Apennines. The model is built from Love and Rayleigh dispersion curves in the period range 5–149 s. Data are extracted from seismic ambient noise recorded at 1521 broad-band stations, including the AlpArray network. The dispersion curves are first combined in a linearized least squares inversion to obtain 2-D maps of group velocity at each period. Love and Rayleigh maps are then jointly inverted at depth for shear wave velocity and radial anisotropy using a Bayesian Monte Carlo scheme that accounts for the trade-off between radial anisotropy and horizontal layering. The isotropic part of our model is consistent with previous studies. However, our anisotropy maps differ from previous large scale studies that suggested the presence of significant radial anisotropy everywhere in the European crust and shallow upper mantle. We observe instead that radial anisotropy is mostly localized beneath the Apennines while most of the remaining European crust and shallow upper mantle is isotropic. We attribute this difference to trade-offs between radial anisotropy and thin (hectometric) layering in previous studies based on least-squares inversions and long period data (>30 s). In contrast, our approach involves a massive data set of short period measurements and a Bayesian inversion that accounts for thin layering. The positive radial anisotropy (VSH > VSV) observed in the lower crust of the Apennines cannot result from thin layering. We rather attribute it to ductile horizontal flow in response to the recent and present-day extension in the region.

SUMMARYTo constrain seismic anisotropy under and around the Alps in Europe, we study SKS shear wave splitting from the region densely covered by the AlpArray seismic network. We apply a technique based on measuring the splitting intensity, constraining well both the fast orientation and the splitting delay. Four years of teleseismic earthquake data were processed, from 723 temporary and permanent broad-band stations of the AlpArray deployment including ocean-bottom seismometers, providing a spatial coverage that is unprecedented. The technique is applied automatically (without human intervention), and it thus provides a reproducible image of anisotropic structure in and around the Alpine region. As in earlier studies, we observe a coherent rotation of fast axes in the western part of the Alpine chain, and a region of homogeneous fast orientation in the Central Alps. The spatial variation of splitting delay times is particularly interesting though. On one hand, there is a clear positive correlation with Alpine topography, suggesting that part of the seismic anisotropy (deformation) is caused by the Alpine orogeny. On the other hand, anisotropic strength around the mountain chain shows a distinct contrast between the Western and Eastern Alps. This difference is best explained by the more active mantle flow around the Western Alps. The new observational constraints, especially the splitting delay, provide new information on Alpine geodynamics.

In this study, we analyzed a large seismological dataset from temporary and permanent networks in the southern and eastern Alps to establish high-precision hypocenters and 1-D VP and VP/VS models. The waveform data of a subset of local earthquakes with magnitudes in the range of 1–4.2 ML were recorded by the dense, temporary SWATH-D network and selected stations of the AlpArray network between September 2017 and the end of 2018. The first arrival times of P and S waves of earthquakes are determined by a semi-automatic procedure. We applied a Markov chain Monte Carlo inversion method to simultaneously calculate robust hypocenters, a 1-D velocity model, and station corrections without prior assumptions, such as initial velocity models or earthquake locations. A further advantage of this method is the derivation of the model parameter uncertainties and noise levels of the data. The precision estimates of the localization procedure is checked by inverting a synthetic travel time dataset from a complex 3-D velocity model and by using the real stations and earthquakes geometry. The location accuracy is further investigated by a quarry blast test. The average uncertainties of the locations of the earthquakes are below 500 m in their epicenter and ∼ 1.7 km in depth. The earthquake distribution reveals seismicity in the upper crust (0–20 km), which is characterized by pronounced clusters along the Alpine frontal thrust, e.g., the Friuli-Venetia (FV) region, the Giudicarie–Lessini (GL) and Schio-Vicenza domains, the Austroalpine nappes, and the Inntal area. Some seismicity also occurs along the Periadriatic Fault. The general pattern of seismicity reflects head-on convergence of the Adriatic indenter with the Alpine orogenic crust. The seismicity in the FV and GL regions is deeper than the modeled frontal thrusts, which we interpret as indication for southward propagation of the southern Alpine deformation front (blind thrusts).

Em primeiro lugar, como os riscos são compartilhados entre dois grupos de agentes: um que deve ser incentivado a trabalhar e outros, que não são precisam mais incentivados? Segundo, como os incentivos podem feitos por meio de promessas de aposentadoria, como essas promessas devem variar otimamente em diferentes estados da natureza? Depois de formalizar esses problema, mostramos que o compartilhamento de riscos é ótimo para utilidade log e quando o crescimento de produtividade é i.i.d.. Em outros casos, o compartilhamento de não é analiticamente ótimo, com melhorias sendo possíveis ao se atribuir mais risco aos aposentados (resp. trabalhadores) quando o crescimento de produtividade persistente (resp. reversão a média). Por fim, resolvemos numericamente os modelos e mostramos que se escolhermos parâmetros suficientemente próximos da utilidade log ou crescimento i.i.d., os ganhos de desviar-se do compartilhamento ótimo de riscos é desprezível. No entanto, com parâmetros mais e mais distantes desse conjunto, os ganhos dos desvios se tornam cada vez maiores e mais relevantes. How is aggregate risks optimally shared between workers and retirees? We can break this question in two parts. First, how is risk shared between two groups of agents: one which must be provided incentives to make effort and other, which no longer be incentivized? Second, since incentives may be backloaded through pension entitlements, how should backloading optimally vary across states of nature? After formalizing these two aspects of the problem, we show that perfect risk sharing is optimal for log utility and when productivity growth is i.i.d.. For all other cases, perfect risk sharing is not analytically optimal, with improvements taking place by assigning more risk to retirees (resp. workers) when productivity growth is persistent (resp. mean reverting). Finally, we numerically solve the model and show that if we choose parameters close enough to log utility and i.i.d. growth, gains from deviating from perfect risk-sharing are meaningless. However, once we go far and far away from this set, the optimal will also become far away from perfect risk-sharing.

Proceratophrys redacta Teixeira Jr, Amaro, Recoder, Vechio & Rodrigues, 2012 is a dwarf species of Proceratophrys characterized by its small size and by the presence of a row of small round tubercles on the eyelids (Teixeira Jr et al. 2012). This species is only known from the type locality and surroundings of the municipality of Morro do Chap��u (state of Bahia, Brazil) and inhabits areas of montane forests and adjacent open mesic areas (Teixeira Jr et al. 2012). To date, natural history data on P. redacta remain limited to that provided in its original description (see Texeira Jr et al. 2012), and its advertisement call remains undescribed. Here, for the first time, we describe the advertisement call of P. redacta, using sound recordings obtained ca. 25 airline km northwards from the species type locality, in the same mountain range. Furthermore, we compare the advertisement call of P. redacta with calls available in the literature for congeners. We recorded four calling males of P. redacta for at least five minutes using a Rodes NTG-2 directional microphone coupled to a Tascam DR-40 digital recorder on February 3, 2018. The microphone was 1 m from the recorded individual, and the recordings were built in an uncompressed wav format with a 24-bit resolution and a sampling rate of 44,100 Hz. After all the recordings, we measured the air temperature and air humidity using a Minipa MT-241 thermohygrometer (precision: 1��C and 10%). We collected individuals after the recordings and measured their snout-vent length (SVL) and body mass using an LEE tools analog caliper (0.02 mm of precision) and a digital pocket scale (0.01 g of precision), respectively. The collected individuals were identified by comparisons with the diagnose presented in Texeira Jr et al. (2012). The specimens are housed at the Museu de Hist��ria Natural da Universidade Federal da Bahia (MHNBA, vouchers numbers: UFBA 15771���15774), and the sound recordings are housed at the MHNBA���s Amphibian Sounds Library (SUFBA, voucher numbers: SUFBA 401���404). Preceding the acoustic analysis, we edited the recordings through a high pass filter of -18 dB at 150 Hz on Audacity software (Audacity Team 2017) and normalized the recordings in R software (R Core Team 2018) using the seewave package (Sueur et al. 2008). We analyzed the acoustic parameters of the advertisement calls with R software (R Core Team 2018) using warbleR (Araya-Salas & Smith-Vidaurre 2017), tuneR (Ligges et al. 2018) and seewave (Sueur et al. 2008) packages. Spectrograms were built in an Asus notebook with an Intel I5 processor using Hanning window, a fast Fourier transform window width of 256, overlap of 80%, and a dynamic range of -40���0 dB. We measured temporal parameters directly on the oscillogram, while spectral parameters were measured on the power spectrum. Our terminology followed the ���note centered��� approach described by K��hler et al. (2017). We measured call duration (s), call emissions rate (calls/s), number of notes per call, number of pulses per call, pulse emissions rate (pulses/s; calculated by [pulse number - 1]/time interval (s) between the beginning of the first pulse and the beginning of the last pulse), and dominant frequency (Hz). The measured parameters followed those in Nascimento et al. (2019). The description was compared with all other published call descriptions for the Proceratophrys genus (available at Ferreira et al. 2016; Andrade et al. 2018; M��ngia et al. 2018; Nascimento et al. 2019). Data are presented as the mean �� standard deviation (minimum���maximum). We observed P. redacta individuals calling on two nights after sunset (approximately 5: 40 p. m.). On January 27, only one individual was calling (recording was not useful), and on February 3, after a rainy day, we observed at least five individuals (only four recorded) calling near a water spring (11��22���07���S, 41��15���12���W, datum WGS84, 1,128 m a.s.l.) in the Parque Estadual Morro do Chap��u, municipality of Morro do Chap��u, state of Bahia, Brazil. The recorded individuals were close to the near calling male at approximately 0.7 to 1.8 m. They were vocalizing on leaf litter between ferns (UFBA 15771), on mud (UFBA 15772, UFBA 15774), and on moist moss (UFBA 15773). On February 3, we measured the air humidity at 87���89% and the air temperature at 19.5���20.1��C. We analyzed 61 calls from four individuals (12 calls from UFBA 15771, 10 from UFBA 15772, 13 from UFBA 15773, and 26 from UFBA 15774). The advertisement call of P. redacta is composed of one amplitude-modulated pulsionated note. The majority of the analyzed calls (62%) started with a rising modulation amplitude, and at approximately the middle portion of the call, they presented a maximum amplitude followed by a decreasing amplitude modulation until the end of the call (fig. 1D). The advertisement call of P. redacta can be characterized by the following: duration=0.57 �� 0.14 s (0.15��� 0.85 s); call rate=0.22 �� 0.23 calls/s (0.01���1.04 calls/s); number of pulses=51.02 �� 12.35 (13���74); pulse rate=89.86 �� 2.93 pulses/s (84.85���106.79 pulses/s); and dominant frequency=1,926 �� 145 Hz (1,658 ���2,142 Hz). The waveform, power spectrum and spectrogram of the call are shown in fig. 1, and the call parameters are detailed in table 1. Proceratophrys redacta calls can be easily distinguished from almost all congeners by their higher value of dominant frequency (P. redacta: 1,658 ���2,142 Hz; combined dominant frequencies of congeners: 200���1,590 Hz). Proceratophrys species whose dominant frequency overlaps with P. redacta are P. avelinoi Mercadal de Barrio & Barrio; P. minuta Napoli, Cruz, Abreu, and Del Grande; and P. schirchi (Miranda-Ribeiro). In relation to P. avelinoi (call described by Kwet & Baldo 2003) and P. minuta (call described by Nascimento et al. 2019), the P. redacta call is distinguished by its high pulse emissions rate (P. redacta =84.85���106.79 pulses/s; P. avelinoi =64���72 pulses/s; and P. minuta =66.8���73.8 pulses/s). Comparisons between P. redacta and P. schirchi (call parameters presented by Nascimento et al. 2019) demonstrated overlap for all measured parameters. Despite the overlap in dominant frequency and pulse emissions rate, overlap occurs only for the extreme values. The higher values of the P. schirchi dominant frequency (1,640 ���1,810 Hz) and pulse emissions rate (76.6���85.0 pulses/s) overlap with the lower values of the P. redacta dominant frequency (1,658 ���2,142 Hz) and pulse emissions rate (84.85���106.79 pulses/s). Nevertheless, these two species can be morphologically distinguished from each other (see Teixeira-Jr et al. 2012 for morphological comparisons). Two of the parameters that mainly distinguish the P. redacta advertisement call from that of its congeners (dominant frequency and pulse emissions rate) are recommended for use in taxonomy and are very important for mate recognition in anuran species (K��hler et al. 2017). Therefore, despite our results showing a small overlap between P. redacta and other Proceratophrys species, differences in dominant frequency and pulse emissions rates seem to be sufficient to allow distinguishing species vocally and can be usefull on taxonomy of the genus., Published as part of Sim��es, C��ssio Rachid M. How is aggregate risks optimally shared between workers and retirees? We break this question in two parts. First, how ought risk to be shared between two groups of agents: one which must be provided incentives to make effort and other, which no longer be incentivized? Second, since incentives may be backloaded through pension entitlements, how does backloading optimally vary across states of nature? After formalizing these two aspects of the problem, we show that perfect risk sharing is optimal for log utility and when aggregate productivity growth is i.i.d.. For all other cases, departures from perfect risk sharing are welfare improving if more risk is born by retirees (resp. workers) when productivity growth is persistent (resp. mean reverting). Our numerical implementations however suggest that perfect risk sharing is approximately optimal for commonly used parameter values.

International audience; The dense AlpArray network allows studying seismic wave propagation with high spatial resolution. Here we introduce an array approach to measure arrival angles of teleseismic Rayleigh waves. The approach combines the advantages of phase correlation as in the two-station method with array beamforming to obtain the phase-velocity vector. 20 earthquakes from the first two years of the AlpArray project are selected, and spatial patterns of arrival-angle deviations across the AlpArray are shown in maps, depending on period and earthquake location. The cause of these intriguing spatial patterns is discussed. A simple wave-propagation modelling example using an isolated anomaly and a Gaussian beam solution suggests that much of the complexity can be explained as a result of wave interference after passing a structural anomaly along the wave paths. This indicates that arrival-angle information constitutes useful additional information on the Earth structure, beyond what is currently used in inversions.

Highlights • Rayleigh-wave phase velocity in the wider Dinarides region using the two-station method. • Uppermost mantle shear-wave velocity model of the Dinarides-Adriatic Sea region. • Velocity model reveals a robust high-velocity anomaly present under the whole Dinarides. • High-velocity anomaly reaches depth of 160 km in the northern Dinarides to more than 200 km under southern Dinarides. • New structural model incorporating delamination as one of the processes controlling the continental collision in the Dinarides. The interaction between the Adriatic microplate (Adria) and Eurasia is the main driving factor in the central Mediterranean tectonics. Their interplay has shaped the geodynamics of the whole region and formed several mountain belts including Alps, Dinarides and Apennines. Among these, Dinarides are the least investigated and little is known about the underlying geodynamic processes. There are numerous open questions about the current state of interaction between Adria and Eurasia under the Dinaric domain. One of the most interesting is the nature of lithospheric underthrusting of Adriatic plate, e.g. length of the slab or varying slab disposition along the orogen. Previous investigations have found a low-velocity zone in the uppermost mantle under the northern-central Dinarides which was interpreted as a slab gap. Conversely, several newer studies have indicated the presence of the continuous slab under the Dinarides with no trace of the low velocity zone. Thus, to investigate the Dinaric mantle structure further, we use regional-to-teleseismic surface-wave records from 98 seismic stations in the wider Dinarides region to create a 3D shear-wave velocity model. More precisely, a two-station method is used to extract Rayleigh-wave phase velocity while tomography and 1D inversion of the phase velocity are employed to map the depth dependent shear-wave velocity. Resulting velocity model reveals a robust high-velocity anomaly present under the whole Dinarides, reaching the depths of 160 km in the north to more than 200 km under southern Dinarides. These results do not agree with most of the previous investigations and show continuous underthrusting of the Adriatic lithosphere under Europe along the whole Dinaric region. The geometry of the down-going slab varies from the deeper slab in the north and south to the shallower underthrusting in the center. On-top of both north and south slabs there is a low-velocity wedge indicating lithospheric delamination which could explain the 200 km deep high-velocity body existing under the southern Dinarides.

According to several studies if a student?s Learning Style is known, it is possible to present the Learning Tools and Objects that best fit their learning profile, and their learning is likely to be facilitated. In this sense, and based on the Felder and Silverman Learning Styles Model, this research presents an approach capable of discovering students? Learning Styles automatically. In order to achieve this goal, data mining concepts and techniques were applied. The various tests performed showed good results, and point out that the proposed approach may be promising in detecting students? Learning Style.

O tema Mudança Organizacional, embora seja de extrema importância nos tempos atuais, apresenta dificuldades quanto a sua aplicabilidade bem sucedida nas organizações, conforme pesquisas recentes, sendo que a resistência à mudança é retratada como a maior barreira ao seu sucesso. Motta (2001) define a mudança organizacional como o conjunto de alterações na situação ou no ambiente de trabalho de uma organização. A mudança organizacional, bem como as formas de resistência dos indivíduos à sua implantação, não é fenômeno recente. Insere-se a esse contexto de mudanças o Programa de Reestruturação e Expansão das Universidades Federais (REUNI), instituído pelo decreto no 6.096/2007 como política do governo federal de expansão e melhoria da qualidade do ensino superior no país. O REUNI foi implantado na Universidade Federal de Viçosa que, há pouco tempo, aproveitando o incremento do programa, havia transformado a escola técnica de Florestal em um campus da universidade. Isso nos leva ao seguinte questionamento: como os servidores da Universidade Federal de Viçosa - Campus Florestal reagiram às mudanças, após a implantação do REUNI? A fim de responder a essa pergunta, foi realizado um estudo nessa organização, tendo como objetivo principal identificar e analisar as reações dos servidores às mudanças ocorridas pela implantação do programa. Diante desse contexto, os constructos deste estudo foram baseados no Modelo proposto e utilizado por Chaves (2005), além da análise da mudança organizacional ocorrida na instituição com base nas perspectivas de Motta (2001). Esta pesquisa caracteriza-se como um estudo de caso do tipo descritivo e utiliza metodologia de pesquisa qualitativa, através de 14 entrevistas semiestruturadas, e quantitativa, por meio de 61 questionários aplicados aos servidores da instituição. Ademais, a pesquisa foi viabilizada por meio de análise de conteúdo e estatística descritiva. A instituição pesquisada tem natureza autárquica e passou por muitas mudanças nos últimos dez anos. Constatou-se, com este estudo, que suas mudanças ocorreram em todas as perspectivas apontadas por Motta (2001): estratégica, estrutural, tecnológica, humana, cultural e política, algumas de maneira mais acentuadas do que outras. Além disso, na percepção dos servidores, não existiu uma comunicação eficiente por parte dos gestores da mudança, e também houve participação pequena do servidor no planejamento. Porém, indo contra a literatura sobre mudança organizacional, não se observaram resistências ativas durante o processo de mudança diante do contexto apresentado, mas sim a aceitação por parte dos servidores pesquisados. A maior contribuição desta pesquisa é a sua intenção de ser mais um passo importante na compreensão do processo de mudança nas organizações públicas, instituições em que ainda existe carência teórica e principalmente empírica dessa abordagem. The topic Organizational Change, although extremely important in the present times, presents difficulties as to its successful applicability in organizations according to recent research. Being that resistance to change is portrayed as the biggest barrier to its success. Motta (2001) defines organizational change as the set of changes in the organization’s situation or work environment. Organizational change, as well as the individuals resistance forms to their implantation, are not recent phenomena. It is integrated to this change context The Federal University Restructuring and Expansion Program (REUNI), instituted by Decree no. 6,096 / 2007, included as a federal government policy to expand and improve the quality of higher education in the country. REUNI was implemented at the Federal University of Viçosa, which had recently transformed the forestry technical school into a university campus, taking advantage of REUNI’s increase. This leads us to the following question: how did Federal University of Viçosa - Campus Florestal servers reacted to the changes after the implementation of REUNI? In order to answer this question, a study was carried out in this organization, with the main objective of identifying and analyzing the servers reactions to the changes that occurred by REUNI program’s implementation. In this context, the constructs were based on the Model of Individual Resistance to Change, proposed by Chaves (2005), in addition to organizational change analysis that occurred in the institution based on the perspectives of Motta (2001). This research is characterized as a study case of descriptive type and uses qualitative and quantitative research methodology, through 14 semi structured interviews and quantitative through 61 questionnaires applied to the institution's servers, made possible through content analysis and descriptive statistics. The institution researched has an autarchic nature and has undergone many changes in the last 10 years. It was perceived that its changes took place in all the perspectives pointed out by Motta (2001): strategic, structural, technological, human, cultural and political, some of them more significant than others. In addition, in the servers perception, there was no efficient communication from the change managers, and there was also a small participation of the servers in the planning. However, against the literature on organizational change, there was no active resistance during the process of change in the presented context, but the acceptance of change by the studied servers. The major contribution of this research is its intention to be another important step in understanding the change process in public organizations, institutions in which there is still a theoretical and mainly empirical lack.

The AlpArray Seismic Network has been deployed with contributions from 36 institutions from 11 countries to map physical properties of the lithosphere and asthenosphere in 3D and thus to obtain new, high-resolution geophysical images of structures from the surface down to the base of the mantle transition zone. With over 600 broadband stations operated for 2 years, this seismic experiment is one of the largest simultaneously operated seismological networks in the academic domain, employing hexagonal coverage with station spacing at less than 52 km. This dense and regularly spaced experiment is made possible by the coordinated coeval deployment of temporary stations from numerous national pools, including ocean-bottom seismometers, which were funded by different national agencies. They combine with permanent networks, which also required the cooperation of many different operators. Together these stations ultimately fill coverage gaps. Following a short overview of previous large-scale seismological experiments in the Alpine region, we here present the goals, construction, deployment, characteristics and data management of the AlpArray Seismic Network, which will provide data that is expected to be unprecedented in quality to image the complex Alpine mountains at depth.

La presente tesi esamina il fenomeno processuale civile nei suoi due aspetti: obiettivo (struttura normativa) e soggettivo (locus di interazioni umane). In entrambe le prospettive, si intende dimostrare la necessità di aprire il fenomeno a considerazioni economiche. Riguardo al suo aspetto oggettivo, prima si cerca di identificare lo stato attuale della dottrina processuale intorno alla natura giuridica del processo, per evidenziare l'eredità di ciascuna di queste teorie. Lo scopo di questo approccio è caratterizzare il processo come un fenomeno dinamico, che si sviluppa attraverso interazioni soggettive. Queste interazioni sono organizzate sotto la forma di una procedura qualificata dalla partecipazione. Questa procedura serve all'adempimento della funzione giudiziale (dovere di tutela del diritto). Secondo, si cerca di identificare il carattere economico dell'architettura istituzionale del processo, per evidenziare le variabili che la compongono. Lo scopo di questo approccio è dimostrare la necessità di capire questo fenomeno come un'istituzione economica che fornisce incentivi ai comportamenti degli individui che partecipano al processo. Riguardo al suo aspetto soggettivo, si cerca prima di identificare la doppia prospettiva in cui si sviluppano le interazioni tra i soggetti processuali (giudice-parti e parte-parte), per evidenziare il modello contemporaneo di divisione del lavoro tra giudice e parti. Lo scopo di questo approccio è quello di individuare le due matrici di azioni nel processo (azione cooperativa del giudice e azione strategica delle parti) e dei limiti comportamentali imposti su questi soggetti dal diritto processuale. Secondo, si cerca di capire le interazioni procedurali delle parti come manifestazioni degli assiomi del comportamento umano delimitati dalla microeconomia tradizionale e messi in discussione dall'economia comportamentale. Lo scopo di questo approccio è dimostrare la necessità di capire le relazioni tra le parti come situazioni di interdipendenza, che possono utilizzare basi microeconomiche per la conformazione delle sue strategie processuali. Em ambas as perspectivas, pretende-se demonstrar a necessidade de abertura do fenômeno a considerações de ordem econômica. No que tange ao seu aspecto objetivo, busca-se, em primeiro plano, identificar o estado da arte da doutrina processual no que tange à natureza jurídica do processo, destacando o legado de cada uma das teorias a respeito do tema. A abordagem tem por finalidade caracterizar o processo como um fenômeno dinâmico, que se desenvolve mediante interações subjetivas. Essas interações são organizadas na forma de um procedimento qualificado pela participação. Esse procedimento serve ao desempenho da função jurisdicional (dever de dar tutela ao direito). Em segundo plano, busca-se identificar o caráter econômico da arquitetura institucional do processo, destacando variáveis que a compõem. A abordagem tem por finalidade demonstrar a necessidade de compreender esse fenômeno como uma instituição econômica que conforma incentivos aos comportamentos dos sujeitos que dele participam. No que tange ao seu aspecto subjetivo, busca-se, em primeiro plano, identificar a dupla perspectiva em que se desenvolvem as interações entre os sujeitos processuais (juiz-partes e parte-parte), destacando o modelo contemporâneo de divisão do trabalho entre os sujeitos processuais. A abordagem tem por finalidade permitir a caracterização de duas matrizes de ação no processo (agir cooperativo do juiz e agir estratégico das partes) e dos limites comportamentais impostos a esses sujeitos pelo direito processual. Em segundo plano, busca-se compreender as interações processuais das partes a partir dos axiomas de comportamento humano delimitados pela microeconomia tradicional e questionados pela economia comportamental. A abordagem tem por finalidade demonstrar a necessidade de compreender as relações entre as partes como situações de interdependência, que podem servir-se de bases microeconômicas para conformação das estratégias processuais.

International audience; We present a new 3-D shear-velocity model for the top 30 km of the crust in the wider Vienna Basin region based on surface waves extracted from ambient-noise cross-correlations. We use continuous seismic records of 63 broad-band stations of the AlpArray project to retrieve interstation Green's functions from ambient-noise cross-correlations in the period range from 5 to 25 s. From these Green's functions, we measure Rayleigh group traveltimes, utilizing all four components of the cross-correlation tensor, which are associated with Rayleigh waves (ZZ, RR, RZ and ZR), to exploit multiple measurements per station pair. A set of selection criteria is applied to ensure that we use high-quality recordings of fundamental Rayleigh modes. We regionalize the interstation group velocities in a 5 km × 5 km grid with an average path density of ∼20 paths per cell. From the resulting group-velocity maps, we extract local 1-D dispersion curves for each cell and invert all cells independently to retrieve the crustal shear-velocity structure of the study area. The resulting model provides a previously unachieved lateral resolution of seismic velocities in the region of ∼15 km. As major features, we image the Vienna Basin and Little Hungarian Plain as low-velocity anomalies, and the Bohemian Massif with high velocities. The edges of these features are marked with prominent velocity contrasts correlated with faults, such as the Alpine Front and Vienna Basin transfer fault system. The observed structures correlate well with surface geology, gravitational anomalies and the few known crystalline basement depths from boreholes. For depths larger than those reached by boreholes, the new model allows new insight into the complex structure of the Vienna Basin and surrounding areas, including deep low-velocity zones, which we image with previously unachieved detail. This model may be used in the future to interpret the deeper structures and tectonic evolution of the wider Vienna Basin region, evaluate natural resources, model wave propagation and improve earthquake locations, among others.

We find a solution of a quasilinear elliptic equation with Dirichlet's boundary condition on a smooth bounded domain and involving an unbounded continuous nonlinearity with oscillatory behavior near the origin.

This paper studies the buckling of thick plates subjected to loads which depend on the deformation of the structures, more specifically on the rotations about in-plane axes. In the cases studied in the paper the applied forces are not derivable from a potential function (nonconservative loading). The numerical model is a version of the Rayleigh-Ritz method, with appropriate global functions, with addition of nonsymmetrical matrices which statically simulate the load dependence on rotations. Special attention is given to the effect of shear deformation in the flutter load. It is confirmed that the dynamic buckling load is more affected by shear than the static buckling load, due to the modal interaction. A peculiar behavior is also observed in the case of an unusual loading which does not introduce primary in-plane forces in the plate. Este relatório significa o culminar do Mestrado em Auditoria Empresarial e Pública lecionado pelo Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração de Coimbra, com o objetivo fundamental de apresentar as tarefas realizadas durante as 960 horas de estágio decorridas na empresa que me acolheu – Telma Carreira Curado, SROC. Aquando da minha chegada à empresa foram-me transmitidas as tarefas que pretendiam que realizasse durante o estágio nas diversas áreas, que poderiam, mediante a minha capacidade de aprendizagem, aumentar. Os objetivos, inicialmente traçados, visavam essencialmente, obter experiência prática na área de auditoria financeira, aplicando, adquirindo e consolidando os conteúdos aprendidos, não só na parte letiva do mestrado, mas também durante todo o meu percurso académico e inteirar-me dos procedimentos a efetuar durante uma auditoria às demonstrações financeiras de uma entidade. Os objetivos delineados foram atingidos com muita dedicação, empenho e esforço.

We investigate the velocity and density structure of the mantle beneath the Northern Atlantic at a depth of 410 km where the olivine to wadsleyite phase transformation occurs. Measuring polarities of precursor arrivals to PP seismic waves that reflect at this transition we analyze over 1700 teleseismic seismograms from 13 different source-receiver combinations using the advantages of high-resolution array seismology methods and crossing ray paths. The final dataset consists of 45 events with Mw ≥ 5.8 with a good coverage of reflection points beneath the investigation area. We find several events where the polarity of the precursor signal is opposite to that of the PP wave, however, events with same polarity of precursor and PP wave are also observed. We test several causes for changing polarity of reflections at the 410 km discontinuity and find out that there is a dependence of the polarity on epicentral distance. We computed the reflection coefficients of the precursor wave using the Zoeppritz equations with the initial values of density, VP and VS of a pyrolite model for the olivine-wadsleyite phase transition and varied the values by ±10% above and below 410 km depth. More than 729 million combinations of density, compressional and shear wave velocities for olivine and wadsleyite layers were tested to find the combinations that can explain our polarity-distance observations. While the best-fitting models have a smaller positive contrast than pyrolite in density, a small negative contrast for P and S wave velocities is needed. Possibilities to explain these values include combination of a hydrous wadsleyite layer beneath, and anhydrous or Fe-enriched olivine above the boundary.

Despite a complex relationship between mood, sleep and rhythm, the impact of circadian disruptions on bipolar disorder (BD) has not been clarified. The purpose of this systematic review was to define current evidence regarding chronotype and circadian rhythm patterns in BD patients. 42 studies were included, involving 3432 BD patients. Disruption of the biological rhythm was identified, even in drug-naïve BD patients and independently of mood status. Daily profiles of melatonin levels and cortisol indicated a delayed phase. Depression was more frequently associated with circadian alterations than euthymia. Few studies evaluated mania, demonstrating irregular rhythms. Evening type was more common in BD adults. Studies about the influence of chronotype on depressive symptoms showed conflicting results. Only one investigation observed the influences of chronotype in mania, revealing no significant association. Effects of psychoeducation and lithium on rhythm in BD patients were poorly studied, demonstrating no improvement of rhythm parameters. Studies about genetics are incipient. In conclusion, disruption in circadian rhythm and eveningness are common in BD. Prospective research evaluating the impact of circadian disruption on mood symptoms, metabolism, seasonality, the influence of age and the effects of mood stabilizers are needed.

We analyse the elastic wave propagation phenomena in the presence of micro-structure. More precisely, we study 1D seismic wave propagation in micropolar elastic media. Micropolar medium is a generalization of classical elastic medium, where each particle has intrinsic rotational degrees of freedom (spin). We give a physical interpretation of the micropolar elastic constants and relate them to dispersion properties of the micropolar wave propagation phenomena. We show that the term micro in the name of the theory is relative to the considered scaled inertia density. Unlike density and elastic constants, the inertia density is a physical parameter which scales with size. Depending on the choice of the scaled inertia density relative to the problem in study, we are able to reproduce macro-rotations predicted by the curl operator over a motion field (displacement or velocity). This work forms the basis of the application of micropolar media in seismology, where the term micro is not longer taken as a limitation. The application of micropolar theory in seismic wave propagation in conjunction with the desired scaled inertia density, allow us to obtain rotational fields at a single point without resorting to the use of finite difference approximations usually applied to compute the curl operator.

This study investigated the good hygiene practices and handling (GHPH) and the infrastructure (IS) conditions of eight restaurants and seven street vendors located in University City Armando de Salles Oliveira of the University of São Paulo (UCASO-USP), using an exploratory and qualitative approach through the application of checklists. We concluded that the UCASO-USP food establishments showed acceptable compliance rates with GHPH and appropriate IS; of the two measures, performance in GHPH proved to be better than the infrastructure. The mobile street vendors analyzed showed better results in meeting the GHPH and IS standards than the fixed restaurants. The results indicated that it is possible for street vendors to maintain sufficiently sanitary conditions so as not to pose a public health risk. O presente estudo verificou as condições de boas práticas de higiene e manipulação (BPHM) e de infraestrutura (IE) de oito restaurantes/lanchonetes e de sete pontos de comércio ambulante localizados na Cidade Universitária Armando de Salles Oliveira (CUASO-USP) por meio de abordagem exploratória e qualitativa através da aplicação de listas de verificação. Concluiu-se que os estabelecimentos de comércio alimentício da CUASO-USP apresentaram índices regulares de cumprimento de BPHM e adequação de IE, sendo que o eixo de higiene e manipulação de alimentos mostrou-se em melhor situação quando comparado ao de infraestrutura. Os ambulantes analisados apresentaram melhores resultados no cumprimento das normas de BPHM e IE quando comparados aos estabelecimentos fixos de comércio alimentício. Constatou-se que é possível a prática do comércio de alimentos de rua com qualidade, sem caracterizar uma ameaça à saúde publica.

As transformações culturais, sociais e econômicas contemporâneas se refletem nas relações conjugais, em suas representações e práticas. Conseqüentemente, grande parte das expectativas e demandas dirigidas aos parceiros nas relações conjugais também mudaram. Este estudo de casos, baseado nas teorias de González Rey e da Rede de Significações, teve como objetivo compreender o discurso de quatro homens (25-40 anos) que coabitam com suas parceiras sobre as posições que ocupam e que lhes são atribuídas na relação conjugal. A análise de conteúdo das entrevistas realizadas mostrou que todos consideraram que cabe ao homem, na relação conjugal, ser o provedor. É permitido à mulher trabalhar, mas a contribuição financeira masculina deve ser decisiva. A representação do homem como provedor continua fortemente associada à subjetividade masculina, provavelmente pelo poder que concede aos homens na relação. A coabitação significa o aprofundamento da relação, sem a solidez do casamento. É um espaço de experimentação.Palavras-chave: masculinidades; conjugalidades; posicionamento; subjetividade

By studying the relationship between territorial expansion, colonization and migration, which involves state actions, colonizer companies and new settlers of these regions, others studies about the colonization process became crucial for this research. Thus, based on the analysis of this literature, a debate between two interpretative models is proposed: 1) the perspective that accentuates the dimension of control and imposition, through State and companies' role and 2) the perspective that emphasizes the combination between territorialization and symbolic dimension of the regional identity. Lastly, the objective is to analyze the case of Sinop city (MT), refusing, above all, the centrality and hegemony of the perspective of the control and imposition. Therefore, this thesis proposes an interpretation about the occupation process and configuration of this new urban world through dialogues and contacts between the three axes of colonization: the Brazilian state (agencies and agents), the colonizer company (along with its leader) and the migrants, mostly coming from the Brazilian southern region. O objetivo central dessa tese é analisar o processo de colonização no norte de Mato Grosso, que se deu a partir do início da década de 1970. Ao estudar as relações entre expansão territorial, colonização e fluxos migratórios, as quais envolvem ações estatais, empresas colonizadoras e novos ocupantes destas regiões, também tomou-se como objeto de investigação outras pesquisas sobre o tema. Deste modo, partindo da análise desse conjunto bibliográfico, propõe-se um debate entre dois modelos interpretativos distintos: 1) a perspectiva que acentua a dimensão do controle e imposição, por meio do protagonismo do Estado e empresas e 2) a linhagem que prioriza a combinação entre territorialização e a dimensão simbólica animada pela identidade regional. Por último, analisa-se o caso da cidade de Sinop (MT), recusando, sobretudo, a centralidade que a perspectiva do controle e imposição possui entre os especialistas no tema. Sendo assim, essa proposta consiste em interpretar o processo de ocupação e configuração deste novo mundo urbano a partir dos diálogos entre o que convencionou-se denominar, no decorrer do presente estudo, os três eixos da colonização: o Estado brasileiro (suas agências e agentes), a empresa colonizadora (e seu líder colonizador) e parte dos migrantes, majoritariamente oriundos da região Sul do país.

Quando os forasteiros e nativos se encontraram produziram representações para ambos, tais discursos permearam a sociedade de diversas formas, desde discursos governamentais até expressões artísticas como, por exemplo, na pintura, literatura, músicas e cinema. A proposta deste estudo é analisar as representações dos migrantes nordestinos no cinema brasileiro da década de 1980, compreende-se a fonte fílmica como um recurso histórico importante para se perceber como as representações dos migrantes nordestinos entremeavam as formas de entretenimento público e, dessa forma, foram difundidas no Brasil e no exterior, é um esforço para compreender as relações de alteridade que vieram a culminar na formação de preconceitos de lugar e origem geográfica, percebeu-se na temporalidade selecionada a maior concentração de produções audiovisuais que se dedicaram a temática dos migrantes do cinema brasileiro e, por isso, o interesse em seu estudo. Dentre esta especificidade da produção cinematográfica do período, três filmes se destacaram por trazerem a discussão dos migrantes como tema central e, portanto, foram selecionados como objeto de estudo, sendo eles O Homem que Virou Suco (1980), As Aventuras de um Paraíba (1982) e O Baiano Fantasma (1984). Teve-se como referência teórica, no estudo das representações, o historiador francês Roger Chartier (2002; 2009) e para a discursão da relação cinema e história recorreu-se a Lagny (2009), Santiago Júnior (2008; 2009; e 2012) e Barros (2012). A pesquisa foi norteada metodologicamente pela análise das imagens, porém as fontes extrafílmicas não foram descartadas, pelo contrário, caracterizaram o estudo por uma abordagem diversificadas de fontes, dentre elas os cartazes, sinopses, críticas de cinema e reportagens em periódicos da época, buscando balizar as leituras das imagens por vestígios da década de 1980, além disso, as demais produções cinematográficas sobre migrantes nordestinos não foram desconsideradas, já que os filmes fazem parte de um circuito cultural e industrial e, assim, eles possuem ligações, fazem citações e referências uns aos outros. Os migrantes nas películas são, comumente, representados como arcaicos, atrasados, selvagens e analfabetos, sempre em oposição aos nativos do Sudeste, ou seja, são edificados campos representacionais, de um lado o desenvolvimento e a civilidade com o Sudeste e o Nordeste como seu antagonismo. As representações negativas rejeitadas pelos nativos são impingidas nos migrantes, afinal, eles são os deslocados vulneráveis e responsabilizados pelos problemas urbanos das metrópoles do Sudeste. Diante disso, os nativos do Sudeste buscaram, conscientemente ou não, se proteger perante o constante movimento migratório dos nordestinos criando e propagando representações negativas sobre os mesmos. Para defender seus lugares sociais foi necessário desqualificar os migrantes para tirá-los de uma possível disputa, assim, pensar a relação entre nordestinos e sudestinos é pensar forças representacionais que os opõem. Study the northeastern migrants in Southeastern Brazil is a way to face with a relationship of power struggles. The internal migration had the twentieth century as the golden period. When the visitors and natives have met themselves, they produced representations to both. Such speeches permeated society in many ways, from government speeches to artistic expressions such as, painting, literature, music and cinema. The purpose of this study is to analyze the representations of Northeastern migrants in Brazilian cinema of the 1980s. The film source is understood as an important historical resource to understand how representations of Northeastern migrants intermingled forms of public entertainment and, therefore, were known in Brazil and abroad. It is an effort to understand the relationships of otherness that came to culminate in the formation of place of prejudice and geographical origin. It was noted in the selected temporality the highest concentration of audiovisual works dedicated to the theme of migrants in Brazilian cinema and therefore the interest in their study. Among this specificity of this film production period, three films stood out for bringing the discussion of migrants as a central theme and, therefore, were selected as study object: O Homem que Virou Suco (The man who turned juice) (1980), As aventuras de um paraiba (The Adventures of a paraíba) (1982) and O Baiano Fantasma (The phantom Bahia) (1984). This study had as theoretical reference, in the study of representations, the French historian Roger Chartier (2002; 2009) and for discussion of the relationship cinema and history appealed to Lagny (2009), Santiago Junior (2008; 2009; and 2012) and Barros (2012). The research was guided by the methodological analysis of the images, but the extra-filmic sources were not discarded, however, characterized the study by a diversified approach of sources, among them the posters, synopsis, movie reviews and articles in periodicals of the time, searching delimit the readings of the images remains in the 1980s. Moreover, the other movie productions on northeastern migrants were not disregarded, since the films are part of a cultural and industrial circuit and thus they have links and citations are references to each other. Migrants in films are commonly represented as archaic, backward, illiterate and wild, always in opposition to the natives of the Southeast. In the other words, there are built representational fields, where on the one hand there is the development and civility to the Southeast and on the other one the Northeast as its antagonism. Negative representations rejected by the natives are enforced on migrants, after all, they are vulnerable displaced and accountable for urban problems of Southeastern cities. Therefore, the natives of Southeast sought, consciously or not, to protect themselves against the constant migratory movement of the northeastern creating and propagating negative representations about them. To defend their social places was necessary to disqualify migrants to get them out of a possible dispute, so, think about the relation between northeastern and southeastern is thinking representational forces that oppose each other.

Dissertação de mestrado em Engenharia Informática, O envelhecimento de um ser humano acarreta condições de vida e de saúde mais sensíveis a ocorrências do nosso dia-a-dia. Nestes termos podemos assumir que a condição de saúde de uma pessoa idosa é bastante frágil, muito limitada a acontecimentos e fatores externos, como por exemplo quedas. Este tipo de problemas incidem diretamente sobre a saúde da pessoa, logo sobre a sua qualidade de vida. Numa queda, uma pessoa idosa, para além das complicações de saúde, tem complicações que criam impacto na sua vida, como por exemplo a limitação de mobilidade. As soluções tecnológicas podem ser usadas para ajudar pessoas com limitações neste tipo de situações. O recurso à utilização de câmaras de segurança ou de assistentes auxiliares a tempo inteiro podem ser uma resposta. No entanto, violam a privacidade das pessoas e são dispendiosos. Outro recurso passa pelo conceito de Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) que permite auxiliar essas pessoas nas suas habitações através da utilização de tecnologia que têm ao se dispor. A crescente evolução tecnologicas permitem sistemas de localização cada vez mais precisos, mas a maior parte desses sistemas estão focados para o exterior através do conhecido serviço GPS (Global Positioning System). Já existem alguns sistemas de localização indoor mas ainda são muito caros e com baixa precisão. Neste trabalho é apresentado um sistema de triangulação móvel dentro de edifícios, com recurso às tecnologias sem fios Wi-Fi que integrado num ALL permite melhorar as condições de vida do utilizador. Recorrendo este sistema podemos limitar a habitação em várias áreas sensíveis e proibidas, por acarretarem muitos perigos. Ao localizar pessoas nessas zonas podemos inferir se necessitam de alguma ajuda, tendo em conta diversos fatores resultantes da sua localização., The aging of the human being entails life and health conditions more sensitive to even the more ordinary occurrences of life. In these terms, we can assume that the health condition of an elder person is rather frail, very prone to events and external factors, i.e. falls. These type of problems focus, directly, on a person’s health and, consequently, over its quality of life. In a fall, an elder person, besides health complications, has complications that impact their own life as, for example, mobility limitations. The technological solutions may be used to help people with the aforementioned limitations. Recurring to the use of security cameras or full-time help assistants may be an answer to these problems. However, this answer violates the privacy of people and are very expensive. Another solution indices over intelligent environments, and the concept of Ambient Assisted Living (ALL), which provides help to these people in their own homes through the use of technology that they have at their own service. The increasing technological evolution allows location systems to be ever more precise, notwithstanding the fact that most of these systems are only focused on their external application, mainly through the, already know, GPS (Global Positioning System) service. There are already some location systems that operate indoor but they are still very costly and with a low accuracy. In this dissertation, it will be presented a mobile triangulation system, to be used inside buildings, by resourcing to the wireless technology Wi-FI integrated within AAL, which allows the improvement of its users’ life conditions. Through the use of this system, we can constrain a building, in regards to its sensitive and forbidden areas due to the dangers yielded. By locating people in these areas, we can infer if they need any help, taking into consideration several factors resulting from their location.

L‘uguaglianza può essere pensata in relazione al processo civile in diversi modi. Proponiamo di contribuire ad una rinnovata portata della normatività dell‘uguaglizana nelle sue relazioni con il processo civile, sulla base dell'analisi dei suoi profili concettuale, funzionale e strutturale. Nel piano concettuale, si presentano due prospettive. Dal punto di vista macro, cerchiamo di dimostrare il passaggio dall‘uguaglianza davanti alla legge - formale - (che richiede la certezza del diritto per la completezza e la univocità delle norme) all'uguaglianza nel diritto - sostanziale - (che richiede il divieto di discriminazioni arbitrarie nella formulazione di testi normativi) e all'uguaglianza nell'interpretazione e applicazione del diritto (che assume certezza giuridica rispetto al precedente). Da un punto di vista micro, cerchiamo di dimostrare come il passaggio dall‘uguaglianza davanti alla legge all'uguaglianza nel diritto sostanziale ha influenzato il processo. Quindi, intendiamo presentare il passaggio della garanzia della parità delle armi (intesa come posizioni simmetriche delle parti, con carattere statico) al diritto fondamentale all‘uguaglianza processuale (inteso come equilibrio tra i soggetti del processo, con carattere dinamico). L'uguaglianza in termini funzionali ha due scopi distinti nel suo rapporto con il processo: da un lato, da un punto di vista generale e oggettivo, è versata sull'intero sistema, cercando di aggiungere coerenza istituzionale e un diritto isonomico e, d'altra parte, dal punto di vista personale e soggettivo, serve come strumento perché i soggetti del processo possano eseguire le proprie competenze in modo equilibrato, consentendo l'esercizio effettivo del contraddittorio inteso come dirritto di influenza, verso una decisione giusta. Infine, nel suo profilo strutturale, l‘uguaglianza può essere sistematizzata da tre punti di vista: l‘uguaglianza al processo (che impone che la legge preveda - e la magistratura agisca – i mezzi necessarie per consentire alle parti di arrivare al processo in posizioni bilanciate), l'uguaglianza nel processo (che impone che il processo sia dotato – e la magistratura ne faccia uso – di tecniche processuali che consentino i soggetti processuali ad agire in una posizione di equilibrio) e l'uguaglianza come risultato del processo (imposizione di che il processo preveda - e la magistratura le promuova - tecniche processuali mirate a dare congruenza, accettazione e l'unità al diritto). A igualdade relaciona-se ao processo civil, nas mais diversas formas. O trabalho tem por objetivo contribuir para uma renovada compreensão da normatividade da isonomia em suas relações com o processo civil, a partir da análise dos seus perfis conceitual, funcional e estrutural. No seu plano conceitual, essa revigorada compreensão apresentase a partir de duas perspectivas. De uma perspectiva macro, busca-se demonstrar a passagem da igualdade perante a lei – formal - (que pressupõe a segurança jurídica pela completude e univocidade da legislação) à igualdade na lei – material – (que pressupõe a vedação às discriminações arbitrárias na formulação dos textos normativos) e à isonomia na interpretação e aplicação do direito (que pressupõe a segurança jurídica pelo respeito ao precedente). De uma perspectiva micro, busca-se demonstrar como a passagem da igualdade perante a lei à igualdade na lei influiu no processo civil. Assim, pretende-se apresentar a passagem da garantia da paridade de armas (entendida como simetria de posições das partes, de caráter estático) ao Direito Fundamental à Isonomia no Processo (entendido como equilíbrio dos sujeitos do processo, de caráter dinâmico). A isonomia, no plano funcional, ostenta duas finalidades distintas quando das suas relações com o processo civil: de um lado, a partir de uma perspectiva geral e objetiva, serve para todo o sistema, como um norte a ser seguido, agregando coerência institucional, com vistas a uma ordem jurídica isonômica; de outro lado, a partir de uma perspectiva particular e subjetiva, serve, em cada caso, como instrumento para que os sujeitos do processo possam desempenhar as suas capacidades de modo equilibrado, permitindo-se o exercício efetivo do contraditório entendido como potencialidade de influência, com vistas a uma decisão justa. Por fim, em seu perfil estrutural, a igualdade pode ser sistematizada a partir de três óticas: igualdade ao processo (imposição de que o direito preveja – e o judiciário atue para tanto - os meios necessários para que as partes possam chegar ao processo em posição equilibrada), igualdade no processo (imposição de que o processo seja dotado – e o judiciário as utilize - de técnicas processuais que permitam que os sujeitos do processo possam atuar em posição equilibrada) e igualdade pelo processo (imposição de que o processo seja dotado – e o judiciário as promova e respeite - de técnicas processuais voltadas a conferir congruência, aceitação e unidade ao direito).

Os autores apontaram lacunas deixadas em seu trabalho, entre elas uma carência de teste de monofilia para o possível clado de Dendropsophus decipiens. Com o objetivo de testar a monofilia do grupo de D. decipiens e explorar seu relacionamento interno realizei uma análise filogenética usando uma abordagem morfológica com 82 caracteres de morfologia externa e esqueleto cranial das formas adultas e larvares de 31 táxons. Foi obtida uma árvore mais parcimoniosa apenas de 470 passos, valores de suporte alto para o grupo de D. decipiens (também para os outros grupos incluídos na análise) e baixos para as relações entre os grupos. A monofilia do grupo de Dendropsophus decipiens é suportada com base em oito sinapomorfias (2 da larva e 6 do adulto) e a hipótese de relacionamento entre as espécies obtida é (D. berthalutzae (D. haddadi (D. decipiens, D. oliveirai))). Dos caracteres apontados para definir formalmente o grupo apenas a posição de início da nadadeira dorsal na junção do corpo com a cauda e coloração da cauda congruem com as sinapomorfias aqui encontradas. Da discussão que historicamente envolve a diferenciação do grupo de D. decipiens em relação ao grupo de D. microcephalus, aqui é observado que as diferenças refletem o caráter único do girino deste último grupo de espécies. Com base nos resultados obtido aqui recomendo o reconhecimento do grupo de D. decipiens como unidade independente do grupo de D. microcephalus. Uma descrição do girino de D. haddadi é provida.
