Article Subject - Abstract
Babinski-Nageotte Syndrome (BNS) is one of the brainstem syndromes characterized by muscle weakness in the opposite half of the body with classic Wallenberg findings. According to our literature survey, only a few cases have been reported and none of them was in the postpartum period. We report a case of a typical BNS in a postpartum woman with an ischemic lesion in the medulla oblongata shown on magnetic resonance imaging.

İntrakranial Hematom,Bilgisayarlı Tomografi,Ortalama Trombosit Hacmi - Abstract
Objective: The linear relationship between density of hematomas on unenhanced computed tomography and hemoglobin levels were shown before. However, there are no studies about the effects of platelet count and functions on density values of hematomas. Our aim is to investigate the relationship between the density of hematomas measured on unenhanced Computed Tomography scans and platelet count and functions.Materials and Methods: Seventy seven patients diagnosed with intracranial hematoma by unenhanced computed tomography scans between the ages of 10 and 89, who did not have anemia or coagulopathy, were included in the study. The density values of intracranial hematomas were measured on independent computed tomography diagnostic console. Patients were divided into two groups according to their hematoma densities as higher or lower than 60 Hounsfield Units. The relationship between the densities of hematomas and platelet count, mean platelet volume, platelet distribution width, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and red cell distribution width were investigated in all the patient population among the two groups. Results: It has been found that the hematoma densities were only significantly correlated with mean platelet volume values among the blood parameters in the study population (p=0,007). Also, a significantly statistical correlation was found between mean platelet volume values of the two groups. (p=0,003).Conclusion: Mean platelet volume is a significant factor that affects hematoma density value on computed tomography like hemoglobin. It is considered that this finding may also be a reason that explains the differences between hematoma densities of patients without anemia and coagulopathy. Keywords: Intracranial Hematoma; Computed Tomography; Mean Platelet Volume., Amaç: İntrakranial hematomların kontrastsız bilgisayarlı tomografi dansite değerleri ile hemoglobin seviyeleri arasındaki lineer ilişki daha önceden gösterilmiştir.

, Lipomas are the most common benign mesenchymal tumors and 13% of all lipomas are located in the headand neck region. Lipomas of the submandibular space are relatively uncommon with the prevalence of 1%.They are divided into three types; superficial lipoma if it arises within subcutaneous tissue, deep lipoma if itarises within deep soft tissue and parosteal lipoma if it arises within surfaces of the bone. Although lipomasare generally diagnosed by clinical examination, imaging studies and histopathological examination can aidin establishing the diagnosis. Here, we aimed to present a case of a patient with submandibular lipoma whomhad painless swelling in the left submandibular region for three years, with his imaging findings.

Internal carotid artery dissection is one of the causes of ischemic stroke and has been increasingly diagnosed recently. Although it can be diagnosed by various imaging methods, magnetic resonance angiography is the best noninvasive diagnostic method due to its high sensitivity. In this article, a 16-year-old male patient diagnosed with stroke due to right internal carotid artery dissection is presented. The aim of this case report is to draw attention to the fact that even sudden braking on a motorcycle may cause arterial dissection in patients admitted to hospital due to lack of consciousness. İnternal karotis arter diseksiyonu, iskemik inme nedenlerinden biri olup son zamanlarda artarak teşhis edilmektedir. Çeşitli görüntüleme yöntemleri ile teşhis edilebilmesine rağmen manyetik rezonans görüntüleme yüksek duyarlılığı nedeniyle en iyi tanısal yöntemdir. Bu yazıda sağ internal karotis arter diseksiyonuna bağlı inme tanısı alan 16 yaşındaki bir erkek hasta sunulmuştur. Bu olgu sunumunun amacı, bilinç kaybı nedeni ile hastaneye başvuran hastalarda motosiklet kullanımı sırasında ani frenin bile arteriyel diseksiyona neden olabileceğine dikkat çekmektir.

WOS:000600134800008 PubMed: 33489555 Introduction and objective: This study aims at using sonoelastography as a novel technique to evaluate the stiffness and thickness of Achilles tendons in familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) patients. Methods: Achilles tendons of 26 FMF patients and 23 control subjects were assessed with ultrasound and real-Lime sonoelastography. The Achilles tendons were divided into the distal, middle, and proximal thirds for elastographic image evaluation. Tendons were classified into three main types according to their elasticity features: grade 1 blue (hardest tissue) to green (hard tissue); grade 2, yellow (soft tissue); and grade 3, red (softest tissue). Tendons of the groups were compared in terms of thickness and stiffness. Results: There were no significant differences in thickness and stiffness of the Achilles tendon between FMF patients and controls (p>0.05). Sonoelastography of Achilles tendons of FMF patients displayed no relationship between FMF and tendinopathy. Conclusion: This issue should be explored in prospective studies in larger groups.
