We investigate automatic methods to assess COVID vaccination views in Twitter content. Vaccine skepticism has been a controversial topic of long history that has become more important than ever with the COVID-19 pandemic. Our main goal is to demonstrate the importance of network effects in detecting vaccination skeptic content. Towards this end, we collected and manually labeled vaccination-related Twitter content in the first half of 2021. Our experiments confirm that the network carries information that can be exploited to improve the accuracy of classifying attitudes towards vaccination over content classification as baseline. We evaluate a variety of network embedding algorithms, which we combine with text embedding to obtain classifiers for vaccination skeptic content. In our experiments, by using Walklets, we improve the AUC of the best classifier with no network information by. We publicly release our labels, Tweet IDs and source codes on GitHub.

Network-level privacy is the Achilles heel of financial privacy in cryptocurrencies. Financial privacy amounts to achieving and maintaining blockchain- and network-level privacy. Blockchain-level privacy recently received substantial attention. Specifically, several privacy-enhancing technologies were proposed and deployed to enhance blockchain-level privacy. On the other hand, network-level privacy, i.e., privacy on the peer-to-peer layer, has seen far less attention and development. In this work, we aim to provide a peer-to-peer network simulator, ethp2psim, that allows researchers to evaluate the privacy guarantees of privacy-enhanced broadcast and message routing algorithms. Our goal is two-fold. First, we want to enable researchers to implement their proposed protocols in our modular simulator framework. Second, our simulator allows researchers to evaluate the privacy guarantees of privacy-enhanced routing algorithms. Finally, ethp2psim can help choose the right protocol parameters for efficient, robust, and private deployment.

When processing data streams with highly skewed and nonstationary key distributions, we often observe overloaded partitions when the hash partitioning fails to balance data correctly. To avoid slow tasks that delay the completion of the whole stage of computation, it is necessary to apply adaptive, on-the-fly partitioning that continuously recomputes an optimal partitioner, given the observed key distribution. While such solutions exist for batch processing of static data sets and stateless stream processing, the task is difficult for long-running stateful streaming jobs where key distribution changes over time. Careful checkpointing and operator state migration is necessary to change the partitioning while the operation is running. Our key result is a lightweight on-the-fly Dynamic Repartitioning (DR) module for distributed data processing systems (DDPS), including Apache Spark and Flink, which improves the performance with negligible overhead. DR can adaptively repartition data during execution using our Key Isolator Partitioner (KIP). In our experiments with real workloads and power-law distributions, we reach a speedup of 1.5-6 for a variety of Spark and Flink jobs., Comment: 14 pages, 8 figures

Abnormal bearer session release (i.e. bearer session drop) in cellular telecommunication networks may seriously impact the quality of experience of mobile users. The latest mobile technologies enable high granularity real-time reporting of all conditions of individual sessions, which gives rise to use data analytics methods to process and monetize this data for network optimization. One such example for analytics is Machine Learning (ML) to predict session drops well before the end of session. In this paper a novel ML method is presented that is able to predict session drops with higher accuracy than using traditional models. The method is applied and tested on live LTE data offline. The high accuracy predictor can be part of a SON function in order to eliminate the session drops or mitigate their effects. © 2015 IEEE.

The KOPI Online Plagiarism Search Portal announced the detection of cross-language or translational plagiarism in 2011. This new feature requires more data intensive processing than the traditional monolingual plagiarism search (offered since 2004). As our service suffered from performance problems, we sought a platform for trying and testing automated scaling solutions applied on our service. Within the BonFIRE open call experiment we successfully implemented and analysed our elastic scaling solutions for KOPI.

Ez az új IT-technológia a számítási felhő számítástechnikai szolgáltatásaihoz kapcsolódó ERP-rendszerek szabványosítását, elterjedését eredményezi. A szerzők cikkükben áttekintést adnak a cloud computing mai helyzetéről és a számítási felhőben működő adatfeldolgozó rendszerekkel (kiemelten ERP) kapcsolatos felhasználói elvárásokról, illetve kezdeti, németországi alkalmazási tapasztalatokról. Külön tárgyalják az ERP-rendszerek új kiválasztási céljait és kritériumait, melyek a felhőkörnyezet speciális lehetőségei miatt alakultak ki. _____ The concept of ‘Cloud’ as an IT notion emerged in the past years and proliferated within the business and IT professional community. The concept of cloud gained awareness both in the professional and scientific literature and in the practice of IT/IS world. The cloud has a profound impact on the Business Information Systems, especially on ERP systems. Indirectly, the cloud leads to a massive standardization on ERP systems and their services. In this paper, the authors provide a literature overview about the current situation of Cloud Computing and the requirements established by end-users against the other data processing facilities and systems, outstandingly the ERP systems. The majority of investigated cases are based on samples from Germany. Furthermore, the initial experiences of application are discussed. Separately, the recent selection objectives and criteria for ERP systems are investigated that came into existence because the appearance of Cloud in the IT environment.

In this paper we improve trust, bias and factuality classification over Web data on the domain level. Unlike the majority of literature in this area that aims at extracting opinion and handling short text on the micro level, we aim to aid a researcher or an archivist in obtaining a large collection that, on the high level, originates from unbiased and trustworthy sources. Our method generates features as Jensen-Shannon distances from centers in a host-term biclustering. On top of the distance features, we apply kernel methods and also combine with baseline text classifiers. We test our method on the ECML/PKDD Discovery Challenge data set DC2010. Our method improves over the best achieved text classification NDCG results by over 3--10% for neutrality, bias and trustworthiness. The fact that the ECML/PKDD Discovery Challenge 2010 participants reached an AUC only slightly above 0.5 indicates the hardness of the task.

The email is used daily by millions of people to communicate around the globe and it is a mission-critical application for many businesses. Over the last decade, unsolicited bulk email has become a major problem for email users. An overwhelming amount of spam is flowing into users' mailboxes daily. In 2004, an estimated 62% of all email was attributed to spam. Spam is not only frustrating for most email users, it strains the IT infrastructure of organizations and costs businesses billions of dollars in lost productivity. In recent years, spam has evolved from an annoyance into a serious security threat, and is now a prime medium for phishing of sensitive information, as well the spread of malicious software. This work presents a first approach to attack the spam problem. We propose an algorithm that will improve a classifier's results by adjusting its training set data. The RDF is one of the basic building blocks of the Semantic Web. It is a low-level data format intended to be used by software developers to create semantic-enabled applications. The ability to place and efficiently evaluate queries is key in this scenario. In this thesis, we approach the problem of RDF querying from three different angles. First, we present an RDF visualization tool, that the developer can use to get an idea about the structure and contents of the data. Second, we have designed extensions of the XQuery language that allow us to give it RDF handling capabilities. The main contribution is introduction of records into the language. Third, to cover query evaluation, we have designed the Bobox parallel framework, which can be used to simplify development of parallel data processing applications. It provides both task and data parallelism.

This paper presents a component framework for inter-organizational collaboration in value networks in the domain of strategic supply network development. The domain chosen extends the traditional frame of reference in strategic sourcing from a supplier-centric to a supply-network-scope. The basic functionality provided by the component framework and discussed in this paper is the dynamic modeling of strategic supply networks and the collaboration between requestors and suppliers in a dynamic network. The corresponding component model is introduced and the functionality provided by the modeling component discussed in detail. The problems of heterogeneity that come up in inter-organizational communication and collaboration will be addressed by introducing a collaboration component that guarantees correct interchange and representation of application data. It is shown what kind of interoperability problems will be encountered in the strategic supply network development scenario as well as how the communication and collaboration component is able to cope with these problems.
