Lo Surdo Script Project è un progetto di lettura scenica sulla vita e le opere di Antonino Lo Surdo, fondatore nel 1936 dell’Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica, oggi INGV. Antonino Lo Surdo, studioso di fisica terrestre, cominciò a occuparsi anche di sismologia e di geofisica dopo aver perduto I genitori e la fidanzata nel terremoto di Messina del 1908. Negli anni in cui Enrico Fermi e I suoi compagni cominciavano I loro studi di fisica nucleare in via Panisperna, Lo Surdo inventava strumenti di rilevazione chimica (volumenometro), sismica (accelerometro) e acustica (tubi c e tubi k per l’individuazione dei sommergibili); studiava le righe spettrali (Effetto Stark-Lo Surdo) e soprattutto gettava le basi di quella che oggi è la Rete sismica nazionale dell’INGV. Questo lavoro è frutto dell’incontro tra l’esperienza drammaturgica di Maria Chiara Piazza e la competenza didattico-scientifica di Giulio Caciotta. La drammaturgia di riferimento è quella del teatro di narrazione che si mette al servizio della divulgazione scientifica. Il testo che qui si pubblica è andato in scena il 29 settembre 2017 presso la sala conferenze dell’INGV di Roma, nell’ambito della Notte Europea dei Ricercatori, evento organizzato dall’Ufficio Divulgazione e Formazione dell’INGV.

After describing the inhomogeneous equation suitable to describe W{\nu}{\mu}{\rho}{\sigma}, a solution of the linearized version of the full quasilinear equation for the conformal part of the Riemann tensor connected to the perturbations of the Kerr spacetime far from the origin, we find the right decays we have to impose to the source term to obtain the peeling decays for this linearized solution. We basically follow the ideas of the Christodoulou Klainerman approach, [Ch-Kl] and [Kl-Ni1]. This result requires some new detailed estimates which could be considered a useful result by themselves., Comment: 61 pages, no figures

We prove, outside the influence region of a ball of radius $R_0$ centered in the origin of the initial data hypersurface, the existence of global solutions near to Kerr spacetime, provided that the initial data are sufficiently near to those of Kerr; This external region is the "far" part of the outer region of the perturbed Kerr spacetime. Moreover if we assume that the corrections to the Kerr metric decay sufficiently fast, $o(r^{-3})$, we prove that the various null components of the Riemann tensor decay in agreement with the "Peeling theorem"., 118 pages

This is the second part of our result on a class of global characteristic problems for the Einstein vacuum equations with small initial data. In the previous work denoted by (I), our attention was focused on prescribing the initial data satisfying the costraints imposed by the characteristic problem. Here we show how the global existence result can be achieved. This part is heavily based on the global results of D.Christodoulou, S.Klainerman and S.Klainerman, F.Nicolo`., 32 pages, 7 figures
