This paper presents a highly integrated 120 GHz radar transmitter in a 40 nm CMOS process. The transmitter comprises a 60 GHz wide tuning range variable gain amplifier (VGA), a 60 GHz high resolution phase shifter (PS), a 60 GHz two-way power combining power amplifier (PA) and a 120 GHz frequency doubler. By utilizing multi-layer tapered connection and ground wall decoupling techniques in transistor layout design, the conversion loss of the doubler is effectively reduced. Distributed active transformer is employed to perform impedance matching and power combining of the PA. Benefiting from the techniques used, the transmitter chip achieves a measured peak output power of 2.9 dBm at 116 GHz, and the output power is higher than 0.5 dBm from 112 to 128 GHz. The power consumption is 160 mW.

Many systematic reviews (SRs) and meta-analyses (MAs) have reported its effectiveness in relieving pain. This overview aimed to summarize SRs and MAs on the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for KOA and evaluate their methodological and evidence quality of the included SRs and MAs.Methods: We conducted a comprehensive literature search for SRs and MAs in four Chinese and four international databases from their inception until August 2021. Two researchers independently searched the reviews, extracted the data, and cross-checked the data. The Assessing the Methodological Quality of Systematic Reviews 2 (AMSTAR 2) tool was used to evaluate the methodological quality of the included SRs and MAs. The Grades of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) system was used to assess the quality of evidence for the outcomes of the included SRs and MAs.Results: A total of 14 SRs and MAs were included. The evaluation results of the AMSTAR 2 tool showed that the methodological quality of all the 14 SRs and MAs was critically low. The principal causes are the lack of a pre-registration proposal and a list of excluded studies and justify the exclusions, the report on the sources of funding, and the reasons for the study designs for inclusion. The results of the GRADE evaluation showed 25 of 46 outcomes were very low-level evidence. Seventeen were of low level, four were of moderate level and none were of high level. Most outcomes were downgraded in quality of evidence mainly because of publication bias and imprecision.Conclusion: The existing evidence suggests that acupuncture seems to be an effective and safe therapy for KOA. However, the deficiencies in the methodological quality and quality of evidence of the included SRs/MAs have limited the reliability of the conclusions. This contribution presents a 0.26 THz power unit in a 0.13 μm SiGe BiCMOS technology with a silicon integrated waveguide as the sub-THz power combiner. This submillimeter-wave frequency power unit is composed of a 2-stage 0.13 THz amplifier array, 1-stage frequency doubler, and an on-chip silicon integrated waveguide power combiner. In this work, a compact power unit is achieved through an on-chip waveguide power combiner. With this compact solution, the area of the core part of this power unit is 200\times 900\mu \mathrm{m}^{2}, and the output power at 0.26 THz is -15 dBm.

To evaluate the effectiveness of bag-of-features (BOF)-based radiomics for differentiating ocular adnexal lymphoma (OAL) and idiopathic orbital inflammation (IOI) from contrast-enhanced MRI (CE-MRI). Fifty-six patients with pathologically confirmed IOI (28 patients) and OAL (28 patients) were randomly divided into training (n = 42) and testing (n = 14) groups. One hundred sixty texture features extracted from the CE-MR image were encoded into the BOF representation with fewer features. The support vector machine (SVM) with a linear kernel was used as the classifier. Data augmented was performed by cropping orbital lesions in different directions to alleviate the over-fitting problem. Student’s t test and the Holm-Bonferroni method were employed to compare the performance of different analysis methods. The chi-square test was used to compare the analysis with MRI and human radiological diagnosis. This article presents the first work to fundamentally study the effect of steric hindrance in Pdot systems., Semiconducting polymer dots (Pdots) have recently emerged as a new type of ultrabright fluorescent probe that has been proved to be very useful for biomedical imaging. However, Pdots often suffer from serious fluorescence aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ) especially for near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent Pdots. This article compared two strategies to overcome the ACQ effect in near-infrared emissive Pdot systems: aggregation-induced emission (AIE) and anti-aggregation-caused quenching (anti-ACQ). The results show that the anti-ACQ platform outperforms the AIE system. The fluorescence quantum yield of anti-ACQ-based Pdots can be over 50% and the average per-particle brightness of the Pdots is about 5 times higher than that of the commercially available quantum dots. To help understand why the monomer conformations could greatly affect the optical properties of Pdots, molecular dynamics simulations were performed for the first time in such complicated Pdot systems. To demonstrate applications for in vivo fluorescence imaging, both microangiography imaging on living zebrafish embryos and specific tumor targeting on mice were performed. We anticipate that these studies will pave the way for the design of new highly fluorescent Pdot systems.

Semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) are promising luminescent materials for use in lighting, display and bio-imaging, and the color tuning is a necessity for such applications. In this work, we report tunable colors and deep-red or near infrared (NIR) emissions in Cu-In-S and Cu-In-S/ZnS QDs by incorporating Sn. These QDs (with a size of 5 nm) with varying Sn concentrations and/or Cu/In ratios were synthesized by a non-injection method, and characterized by a variety of analytical techniques (i.e., XRD, TEM, XPS, absorption, photoluminescence, decay time, etc.). The Cu-Sn-In-S and Cu-Sn-In-S/ZnS QDs with Cu/In = 1/2 show the emission maximum in the ranges of 701-894 nm and 628-785 nm, respectively. The red-shift in emission is ascribed to the decrease of the band gap with the Sn doping. The highest quantum yield of 75% is achieved in Cu-Sn-In-S/ZnS with 0.1 mmol Sn and Cu/In = 1/2. Both the white and NIR LEDs were fabricated by using Cu-Sn-In-S/ZnS QDs and a 365 nm LED chip. The white LED exhibits superhigh color rendering indices of Ra = 97.2 and R9 = 91 and a warm color temperature of 2700 K. And the NIR LED shows an interesting broadband near-infrared emission centered at 741 nm, allowing for applications in optical communication, sensing and medical devices.

Domain decomposition and convex optimization play fundamental roles in current computation and analysis in many areas of science and engineering. These methods have been well developed and studied in the past thirty years, but they still require further study and improving not only in mathematics but in actual engineering computation with exponential increase of computational complexity and scale. The main goal of this thesis is to develop some efficient and powerful algorithms based on domain decomposition method and convex optimization. The topicsstudied in this thesis mainly include two classes of convex optimization problems: optimal control problems governed by time-dependent partial differential equations and general structured convex optimization problems. These problems have acquired a wide range of applications in engineering and also demand a very high computational complexity. The main contributions are as follows: In Chapter 2, the relevance of an adequate inner loop starting point (as opposed to a sufficient inner loop stopping rule) is discussed in the context of a numerical optimization algorithm consisting of nested primal-dual proximal-gradient iterations. To study the optimal control problem, we obtain second order domain decomposition methods by combining Crank-Nicolson scheme with implicit Galerkin method in the sub-domains and explicit flux approximation along inner boundaries in Chapter 3. Parallelism can be easily achieved for these explicit/implicit methods. Time step constraints are proved to be less severe than that of fully explicit Galerkin finite element method. Based on the domain decomposition method in Chapter 3, we propose an iterative algorithm to solve an optimal control problem associated with the corresponding partial differential equation with pointwise constraint for the control variable in Chapter 4. In Chapter 5, overlapping domain decomposition methods are designed for the wave equation on account of prediction-correction" strategy. A family of unit decomposition functions allow reasonable residual distribution or corrections. No iteration is needed in each time step. This dissertation also covers convergence analysis from the point of view of mathematics for each algorithm we present. The main discretization strategy we adopt is finite element method. In this study, the steady state performance and dynamic behavior of a commercial 10-cell PEM fuel cell stack was experimentally investigated using a self-designed and developed PEM Fuel Cell Testing Stand. The start-up characteristics of the stack to different current load and dynamic responses after current step-up were studied. The stack voltage was observed to experience oscillation at air excess coefficient of 2 owing to the flooding and recovery of part of cells. To correlate the stack voltage with the pressure drop across the cathode/anode, fast Fourier transform was performed to obtain the dominant frequency of pressure drop signal, which indicated the water behavior in cathode/anode thereby predicting the stack voltage change. It is potentially possible to utilize pressure drop signal as a diagnosis tool for stack voltage at a fixed current load.

ZSM-5 zeolite was in-situ synthesized successfully on the surface of honeycomb cordierite substrate, certified by XRD and SEM techniques. Good thermal and hydrothermal stability of ZSM-5/cordierite could be obtained because of the in-situ synthesis method. Copper ion-exchanged ZSM-5/cordierite was studied as catalyst for selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides. For practical reasons, the catalytic testing experiments were preformed on a real lean burn engine. Unburned hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide in the exhaust were directly used as reductants for NOx reduction. Cu-ZSM-5/cordierite exhibited high catalytic activity, and at 673 K the maximal NOx conversion to N2 could reach 50% at gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) of about 25 000 h(-1). Hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide in the exhaust could also be purified at the same time. As expected, Cu-ZSM-5/cordierite catalyst exhibited good duration and antipoison properties. When traces of lanthanum were introduced to Cu-ZSM-5/cordierite catalyst as a modifier, the activated temperature of the catalyst could be decreased and the temperature window with high NOx conversions broadened. Cu-ZSM-5/ cordierite and LaCu-ZSM-5/cordierite were thought as promising automobile exhaust catalysts under lean conditions. Copper is the main active component in the Cu-ZSM-5/ cordierite catalyst and Cu(II), which was found in the catalyst during the proceeding of reaction by XPS, is thought to be essential. On the basis of this, deNOx process over Cu-ZSM-5/cordierite is also discussed.
