The deregulation of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) was reported to be responsible for the development of post-stroke depression (PSD), while the stimulation of the fastigial nucleus (FN) can be used to treat PDS by down-regulating the expression of miR-182 and miR-382. Therefore, we aim to test the hypothesis that the therapeutic effect of FN stimulation obtained in the treatment of PSD is mediated by the miR-382miR-182/BDNF mRNA signaling pathways. Rat models of PSD were established and divided into sham, stroke, PSD and PSD + FNS groups to receive different treatments. Post-stroke depression-like behaviors were observed after the initiation of the treatments. TUNEL assay, Western Blot, IHC assay, real-time PCR, bioinformatics tools and luciferase assays were performed to examine the effect of FN stimulation on the expression of miR-182, miR-382 and BDNF mRNA/protein, as well as to further clarify the role of miR-382miR-182/BDNF mRNA signaling pathways in FN stimulation. Post-stroke depression-like behaviors were significantly reduced in PSD rats. In contrary, the treatment by FN stimulation alleviated the symptoms of PSD and reduced the apoptosis index in the PSD group. Furthermore, in the PSD group, BDNF mRNA/protein levels were suppressed while the miR-382/miR-182 levels were both significantly up-regulated. After the treatment of FN stimulation, BDNF mRNA/protein levels were partly recovered, while miR-382/miR-182 levels was decreased. Furthermore, BDNF was identified as a virtual target of miR-382 and miR-182. In conclusion, FN stimulation increases the expression of BDNF via down-regulating the expression of miR-382/miR-182, thus exhibiting a positive effect in the management of PSD.

This paper investigates the secrecy outage performance of a downlink cooperative nonorthogonal multiple access- (NOMA-) assisted hybrid satellite-terrestrial network, where a satellite source communicates with two terrestrial users based on NOMA, in the presence of a terrestrial eavesdropper. We assume that there is no direct link between the satellite source and the far terrestrial user, and the near terrestrial user acts as a relay to forward the information to the far terrestrial user. The near user is assumed to support both half-duplex mode and the full-duplex mode for information relaying. We derive the closed-form exact expressions for the secrecy outage probability (SOP) of the near user, as well as the closed-form approximate expressions for the SOP of the far user based on the Gaussian-Chebyshev quadrature. Theoretical results are validated by conducting simulations. The impacts of various system parameters on the performance comparison between the half-duplex mode and full-duplex mode are investigated. Particularly, the full-duplex mode is shown to outperform the half-duplex mode when the received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the near user is low or the residual self-interference is low.

Background The purpose of this study was to analyze the efficacy of U-shaped internal fixation for calcaneal tubercle fracture after nearly 3 years of case follow-up and data collection. Method We retrospectively analyzed the collected data from 16 patients with avulsion fracture of calcaneal tubercle between December 2018 and February 2021 at our institute. All patients were required to conform to regular follow up postoperatively. X-ray film was applied to all cases. The American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Association (AOFAS) score, Cedell score and the visual analog scale (VAS) were used to evaluate functional results. Results All patients achieved bone union. The preoperative AOFAS score was 26.34 ± 3.34, which was significantly different from 91.38 ± 6.15 half a year after operation (p = 0.003). The preoperative Cedell score was 31.05 ± 4.18 and the score half a year after operation was 92.17 ± 5.39(p = 0.011). The VAS score was 8.91 ± 1.51 before operation and decreased to 0.58 ± 1.31 half a year after operation (p = 0.014). Conclusions In the treatments of calcaneal tubercle fracture, U-shaped internal fixation is a new attempt. Through the short-term follow-up study, we found that its therapeutic effect is excellent, which is a recommended treatment in clinic.

Heparan sulfate-binding proteins (HSBPs) are structurally diverse extracellular and membrane attached proteins that interact with HS under normal physiological conditions. Interactions with HS offer an additional level of control over the localization and function of HSBPs, which enables them to behave in a more refined manner. Because all cell signaling events start at the cell membrane, and cell-cell communication relies on translocation of soluble factors across the extracellular matrix, HS occupies an apical position in cellular signal transduction by interacting with hundreds of growth factors, cytokines, chemokines, enzymes, enzyme inhibitors, receptors and adhesion molecules. These extracellular and membrane proteins can play important roles in physiological and pathological conditions. For most HS-binding proteins, the interaction with HS represents an essential element in regulating their normal physiological functions. Such dependence on HS suggests that manipulating HS-protein interactions could be explored as a therapeutic strategy to selectively antagonize/activate HS-binding proteins. In this review, we will discuss current understanding of the diverse nature of HS-HSBP interactions, and the latest advancements in targeting the HS-binding site of HSBPs using structurally-defined HS oligosaccharides and monoclonal antibodies.

Chemosensation of tarsi provides moths with the ability to detect chemical signals which are important for food recognition. However, molecular mechanisms underlying the chemosensory roles of tarsi are still unknown. The fall armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda is a serious moth pest that can damage many plants worldwide. In the current study, we conducted transcriptome sequencing with total RNA extracted from S. frugiperda tarsi. Through sequence assembly and gene annotation, 23 odorant receptors 10 gustatory receptors and 10 inotropic receptors (IRs) were identified. Further phylogenetic analysis with these genes and homologs from other insect species indicated specific genes, including ORco, carbon dioxide receptors, fructose receptor, IR co-receptors, and sugar receptors were expressed in the tarsi of S. frugiperda. Expression profiling with RT-qPCR in different tissues of adult S. frugiperda showed that most annotated SfruORs and SfruIRs were mainly expressed in the antennae, and most SfruGRs were mainly expressed in the proboscises. However, SfruOR30, SfruGR9, SfruIR60a, SfruIR64a, SfruIR75d, and SfruIR76b were also highly enriched in the tarsi of S. frugiperda. Especially SfruGR9, the putative fructose receptor, was predominantly expressed in the tarsi, and with its levels significantly higher in the female tarsi than in the male ones. Moreover, SfruIR60a was also found to be expressed with higher levels in the tarsi than in other tissues. This study not only improves our insight into the tarsal chemoreception systems of S. frugiperda but also provides useful information for further functional studies of chemosensory receptors in S. frugiperda tarsi.

In order to explore the segmented relationship between the segmented rating results of Baijiu and the segmented characteristics of alcohol content and cumulative flow in the distillation process and to verify whether different liquor categories can achieve rating through the segmented characteristics of alcohol content and cumulative flow, in view of this, combined with the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technology and online detection and analysis of alcohol and cumulative traffic, its accuracy can reach ±0.5%, ±1%, with the integration of Baijiu categories, sources, liquor characteristic conditions, and other multisource data, to achieve Baijiu segmented rating data reconstruction, the use of standard error and standard deviation as evaluation indicators, quantification of distilled liquor alcohol, and cumulative flow segmented characteristics to form a liquor rating strategy, so as to use the Arduino platform control motor to achieve automatic grading of Baijiu. Experiments show that the relative error between automatic rating and manual rating is less than 10%, which shows that automatic rating can be better applied to the actual brewing process. It provides a solution for the digitization and standardization of Baijiu grading.

This article investigates legitimate eavesdropping and secure communication in a multicarrier interference network, where a suspicious link coexists with an unsuspicious link, in the presence of a full-duplex monitor. It is assumed that the unsuspicious users (UUs) are under illegal eavesdropping threat from the suspicious users (SUs), and the monitor can send jamming signals to interfere with the SUs. The UUs are required to cooperate with the monitor for reducing the secrecy outage probability of the UUs to be lower than that without the monitor’s jamming. Under this secrecy outage constraint along with the transmit power constraints, the problem for maximizing the successful eavesdropping probability of the monitor by jointly allocating the transmit powers of the monitor and the UUs is investigated. The problem is solved with the Lagrange duality method by proving the time-sharing property holds, where two algorithms are proposed for obtaining the dual function based on the block coordinate descent method and the successive convex approximation method. Simulation results verify that the proposed algorithms are superior to the noncooperative strategy and the passive eavesdropping strategy, and achieve high successful eavesdropping probability and low secrecy outage probability simultaneously.

Strain-controlled isotropic compression gives rise to jammed packings of repulsive, frictionless disks with either positive or negative global shear moduli. We carry out computational studies to understand the contributions of the negative shear moduli to the mechanical response of jammed disk packings. We first decompose the ensemble-averaged, global shear modulus as $\langle G\rangle = (1-{\cal F}_-) \langle G_+ \rangle + {\cal F}_- \langle G_-\rangle$, where ${\cal F}_-$ is the fraction of jammed packings with negative shear moduli and $\langle G_+\rangle$ and $\langle G_-\rangle$ are the average values from packings with positive and negative moduli, respectively. We show that $\langle G_+\rangle$ and $\langle|G_-|\rangle$ obey different power-law scaling relations above and below $pN^2 \sim 1$. We then calculate analytically that ${\cal P}(G)$ is a Gamma distribution in the $pN^2 \ll 1$ limit. As $pN^2$ increases, the skewness of ${\cal P}(G)$ decreases and ${\cal P}(G)$ becomes a skew-normal distribution with negative skewness in the $pN^2 \gg 1$ limit. We also partition jammed disk packings into subsystems using Delanunay triangulation of the disk centers to calculate local shear moduli. We show that the local shear moduli defined from groups of adjacent triangles can be negative even when $G > 0$. The spatial correlation function of local shear moduli $C({\vec r})$ displays weak correlations for $pn_{\rm sub}^2 < 10^{-2}$, where $n_{\rm sub}$ is the number of particles within each subsystem. However, $C({\vec r})$ begins to develop long-ranged spatial correlations with four-fold angular symmetry for $pn_{\rm sub}^2 \gtrsim 10^{-2}$., 17 pages, 21 figures

We develop a microscopic theory for the multimode polariton dispersion in materials coupled to cavity radiation modes. Starting from a microscopic light-matter Hamiltonian, we devise a general strategy for obtaining simple matrix models of polariton dispersion curves based on the structure and spatial location of multi-layered 2D materials inside the optical cavity. Our theory exposes the connections between seemingly distinct models that have been employed in the literature and resolves an ambiguity that has arisen concerning the experimental description of the polaritonic band structure. We demonstrate the applicability of our theoretical formalism by fabricating various geometries of multi-layered perovskite materials coupled to cavities and demonstrating that our theoretical predictions agree with the experimental results presented here.

In this study, analysis of the chemical constituents and bioactivities of the unpolar fractions [petroleum ether (PE) and chloroform (C)] of fruits and leaves of Alpinia oxyphylla Miq. were carried out, as well as the bioactivities of the main compounds nootkatone and valencene. From PE and C fractions of the fruits, and PE fraction of the leaves, 95.80%, 59.30%, and 82.11% of the chemical constituents respectively were identified by GC-MS. Among these identified compounds, nootkatone was the main compound in all of three fractions, while valencene was the second main compound in the PE fractions of the fruits and leaves. The bioactivities results showed that all of the fractions and the major compound nootkatone showed tyrosinase inhibitory, as well as inhibitory effect on NO production in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. While valencene only presented inhibitory activity on NO production in RAW264.7 cells. The critical genes involved in nootkatone biosynthesis in A. oxyphylla were identified from the public transcriptome datasets, and protein sequences were preliminarily analyzed. Our studies develop the usage of the unpolar fractions of A. oxyphylla, especially its leaves as the waste during its production, and meanwhile provide the gene resources for nootkatone biosynthesis.

Cell degeneration in the retina leads to several ocular diseases and vision loss. Considerable research efforts focus on reprogramming Muller glia (MG) into functional cells to rescue vision as a promising therapeutic strategy, although whether MG can convert into functional bipolar cells, retinal ganglia cells (RGCs), rods or cones in mammals remains controversial. The broad applicability of tracking MG differentiation thus presents a need for improved labeling efficiency and specificity. Here, we compared AAV-based labeling strategies with conventional lineage-tracking by crossing transgenic mouse lines. We found that reporter expression was weak and not MG-specific in mGFAP-Cre transgenic mice. Different AAV serotypes showed a range of efficiency and specificity in labeling MG, leading us to optimize a human GFAP-Cre reporter system packaged in the AAV9 serotype with the WPRE (WPRE, woodchuck hepatitis virus post-transcriptional regulatory element) removed. The hGFAP-Cre- ΔWPRE reporter could label 20-73.8% MGs, with non-specific RGC labeling rates ranging from 0-0.08% at doses of 1 × 108 to 1010 vector genomes (vg) per eye, an approximate 40-fold reduction compared with the AAV9-hGFAP-Cre-WPRE labeling system. Furthermore, we validated the availability of the label system to trace MG reprogramming and also detected false-positive results reported previously. The AAV9-hGFAP-Cre-ΔWPRE system thus represents a highly efficient and specific labeling system for MG, providing a valuable tool for tracking cell fate in vivo.

In the present work, the effects of preloading on the tensile properties of braided polyarylate fiber ropes were investigated experimentally. Four kinds of samples with different pitch lengths were tested with designed preload levels. The deformation responses of the ropes were captured using digital image correlation (DIC) and micro-computed tomography (micro-CT). It is shown that the nonlinearity in the mechanical behavior of the ropes can be almost eliminated post-preloading with one cyclic loading, and the transverse strains are much greater than the longitudinal strains due to the compaction of rope structure because of the spiral interlaced path of braid yarns. The rope with shorter pitch length (larger braid angle) has larger longitudinal strain and smaller transverse strain due to the higher yarn crimp rate and tighter yarns, respectively. The preload level is the most important parameter for preloading. The chord modulus of the ropes reached an optimum level at the preload level of 40% break load, and the tensile strength can be increased by 15% at the preload level of 50% break load. Moreover, the stability of the tensile properties could be accelerated at the higher preload level. Consequently, preloading is vital to improve the tensile properties of braided polyarylate fiber ropes, with a preload level at least of 40% break load and 10 cyclic loadings.

Effectively activating macrophages that can engulf cancer cells is a promising immunotherapeutic strategy but remains a major challenge due to the expression of "self" signals (e.g., CD47 molecules) by tumor cells to prevent phagocytosis. Herein, we explored a siRNA-assisted assembly strategy for the simultaneous delivery of siRNA and mitoxantrone hydrochloride (MTO·2HCl) via PLGA-based nanoparticles. The siRNA suppressed a "self" signal by silencing the CD47 gene, while the MTO induced surface exposure of calreticulin (CRT) to provide an "eat-me" signal. The siRNA-assisted assembly strategy synergistically increased the phagocytosis of tumor cells by macrophages, promoted effective antigen presentation, and initiated T cell-mediated immune responses in two aggressive tumor animal models of melanoma and colon cancer, eventually achieving significantly improved antitumor activity. This study provides a straightforward codelivery strategy to simultaneously suppress "self" and upregulate "eat-me" signals to potentiate macrophage-mediated immunotherapy.

Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.), an Andean native crop, is increasingly popular around the world due to its high nutritional content and stress tolerance. The production and the popularity of this strategic global food are greatly restricted by many limiting factors, such as seed pre-harvest sprouting, bitter saponin, etc. To solve these problems, the underlying mechanism of seed maturation in quinoa needs to be investigated. In this study, based on the investigation of morphological characteristics, a quantitative analysis of its global proteome was conducted using the combinational proteomics of tandem mass tag (TMT) labeling and parallel reaction monitoring (PRM). The proteome changes related to quinoa seed maturation conversion were monitored to aid its genetic improvement. Typical changes of morphological characteristics were discovered during seed maturation, including mean grain diameter, mean grain thickness, mean hundred-grain weight, palea, episperm color, etc. With TMT proteomics analysis, 581 differentially accumulated proteins (DAPs) were identified. Functional classification analysis and Gene Ontology enrichment analysis showed that most DAPs involved in photosynthesis were downregulated, indicating low levels of photosynthesis. DAPs that participated in glycolysis, such as glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase, pyruvate decarboxylase, and alcohol dehydrogenase, were upregulated to fulfill the increasing requirement of energy consumption during maturation conversion. The storage proteins, such as globulins, legumins, vicilins, and oleosin, were also increased significantly during maturation conversion. Protein–protein interaction analysis and function annotation revealed that the upregulation of oleosin, oil body-associated proteins, and acyl-coenzyme A oxidase 2 resulted in the accumulation of oil in quinoa seeds. The downregulation of β-amyrin 28-oxidase was observed, indicating the decreasing saponin content, during maturation, which makes the quinoa “sweet”. By the PRM and qRT-PCR analysis, the expression patterns of most selected DAPs were consistent with the result of TMT proteomics. Our study enhanced the understanding of the maturation conversion in quinoa. This might be the first and most important step toward the genetic improvement of quinoa.

Recently, a human mutation of OPG was identified to be associated with familial forms of osteoarthritis. This missense mutation (c.1205A = > T; p.Stop402Leu) occurs on the stop codon of OPG, which results in a 19-residue appendage to the C-terminus (OPG+19). The biochemical consequence of this unusual sequence alteration remains unknown. Here we expressed OPG+19 in 293 cells and the mutant OPG was purified to homogeneity by heparin affinity chromatography and size exclusion chromatography. We found that in sharp contrast to wildtype OPG, which mainly exists in dimeric form, OPG+19 had a strong tendency to form higher-order oligomers. To our surprise, the hyper-oligomerization of OPG+19 had no impact on how it binds cell surface heparan sulfate, how it inhibits RANKL-induced osteoclastogenesis and TRAIL-induced chondrocytes apoptosis. Our data suggest that in biological contexts where OPG is known to play a role, OPG+19 functions equivalently as wildtype OPG. The disease-causing mechanism of OPG+19 likely involves an unknown function of OPG in cartilage homeostasis and mineralization. By demonstrating the biochemical nature of this disease-causing OPG mutant, our study will likely help elucidating the biological roles of OPG in cartilage biology.

Travel vlogging is gaining popularity and studying the practice of travel vlogging can provide insights into tourist behaviour, communication, and management. The notion of practice was adopted as the theoretical base and the analytical framework. A qualitative approach was employed, including interviews with 12 strategically sampled vlogger tourists and analysis of their vlog productions. The findings suggested that travel vlogging is a practice bundle constructed by four sequential practices; designing, filming, editing, and posting. Through a collaborative relationship, the four practices achieve the shared meanings of self-concept expressions, a sense of documentation and ritual, and pleasures in vlogging. Moreover, travel vlogging affects tourist experiences; it creates a self-other divide, mediates the experiences of the 'self', and moderates the experiences of the 'others'. Such impacts vary across the dimensions of travel stages, materiality, and engagement. Theoretically, the study offers fresh insights into the practice of vlogging and the creation of travel vlog content; pragmatically, understandings and implications for quality experiences of vlogger tourists are addressed.

Trauma hemorrhage (TH) and subsequent sepsis are well known to frequently result in severe organ damage. Although macrophage-activating lipopeptide-2 (MALP-2) has been described to exert beneficial effects on organ damage, and further clinical course after both isolated trauma and sepsis, little is known about the impact of MALP-2 in a clinically realistic two-hit scenario of TH and subsequent sepsis. As the liver represents a key organ for the posttraumatic immune response and development of complications, the effects of MALP-2 on the posttraumatic hepatic immunologic response and tissue damage were investigated in a murine “two-hit” model. In C57BL/6 mice, blood pressure-controlled (35 ± 5 mm Hg) TH was induced. Cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) was performed 48 h after TH. Mice were divided into two control groups (control 1, TH and laparotomy without CLP; control 2, TH and CLP) and three experimental groups (TH + CLP) treated with MALP-2 at different timepoints (ETH, end of TH; ECLP, end of CLP; 6CLP, 6 h after CLP). The observation time lasted for 168 h after induction of TH. Kupffer cells (KC) were isolated and cultured, and MPO activity was analyzed. Cell culture supernatants were taken for cytokine analysis (TNF-α, IL-6, MCP-1, GM-CSF, IL-10). Histological analysis was performed using the Hepatic Injury Severity Scoring (HISS). Background: Mind-body exercise is used for the rehabilitation of individuals with methamphetamine use disorder (MUD). Attention bias to substances is an important index of MUD. However, whether a mind-body exercise intervention can decrease attention bias is unclear.Objective: This study aimed to test the effect of a four-week Tai Chi (a Chinese traditional mind-body exercise) exercise program on the attention bias of individuals with MUD.Methods: Thirty-two men with MUD and without Tai Chi practice experience were recruited and randomly assigned to either a Tai Chi exercise group or a control group. The Tai Chi group received four-week Tai Chi training, while the control group engaged in daily exercise (including radio gymnastics and Jianxincao, two kinds of free-hand exercises). During a drug-related Stroop task, participants were instructed to respond to the color of the word ignoring the word type (drug-related or neutral words). The reaction time and d' (the index of sensitivity) were measured.Results: The participants showed attention bias to substance cues; the reaction time was slower for drug-related words than for neutral words (p .05).Conclusion: Four-week Tai Chi intervention reduced sensitivity and attentional bias to drug-related cues in individuals with MUD, suggesting that mind-body exercise might enhance recovery from MUD via attention control.

Since time immemorial, plant derived natural products have been used for the treatment of various human diseases before the intervention of modern medicine. The basis of modern medicine is still being inspired from traditional medicine and therapies. However, despite their tremendous therapeutic potential, these natural drugs often have poor bioavailability, metabolic instability, and aqueous insolubility. These factors greatly impede a natural drug’s commercialization potential as a mainstream medicine. Therefore, the development of nanocarrier drug delivery systems is indispensable in overcoming the various constraints of the bottlenecks which occur with natural drugs. Of particular interest in this review are four plant materials endogenous to China with the common names of barrenwort or horny goat weed (Epimedium), Shu Di Huang (Rehmannia glutinosa, RG), ginseng (Panax ginseng), and Dong Quai or female ginseng (Angelica sinensis, AS), each having been scientifically investigated for a wide range of therapeutic uses as has been originally discovered from the long history of traditional usage and anecdotal information by local population groups in Asia. The integration of natural drugs from the East and nanocarrier drug delivery systems developed from the West is paving the way towards further accurate and efficient medicine therapy. We further discuss the potential benefits of these plants and the enhancement of their therapeutic efficacy by nanotechnology intervention.

Recently, wireless powered cooperative cognitive radio networks (CRNs), which combine the technologies of radio frequency (RF) energy harvesting and CR, have drawn great attention. In such networks, energy cooperation between the cognitive users (CUs) and the wireless powered primary users (PUs) can be performed, where the CUs can charge the PUs wirelessly in exchange for the spectrum access. Specifically, energy cooperation and information transmission is executed in two phases, where the CUs transmit their data signals and the PUs harvest energy from these signals in the first phase, and the PUs transmit their data using the harvested energy in the second phase. In particular, we consider two multiple access schemes for the CUs, namely non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and time-division multiple access (TDMA). For both NOMA and TDMA, the PU sum-rate maximization problems under the minimum CU sum-rate constraint are first simplified by exploring particular problem structure, then are transformed to convex problems, and finally are solved optimally. The PU sum-rates of the two schemes are compared theoretically as well as numerically. It is revealed that the circuit power consumption at the CUs, the required minimum CU sum-rate, and the PU energy harvesting sensitivity and saturation thresholds play key roles in the PU performance comparison of the two schemes.

In this letter, we investigate the secrecy outage performance of a cooperative non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) network, where a base station (BS) communicates with multiple cell-centre users and a cell-edge user in the presence of an eavesdropper. It is assumed that there is no direct link between the BS and the cell-edge user, and thus one of the cell-centre users is selected to act as a relay for the cell-edge user. Particularly, the selected cell-centre user adopts the simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) for decoding information and harvesting energy for forwarding. The closed-form approximate expression for the system secrecy outage probability is derived under the max-min user selection (MMUS) strategy. The theoretical results are verified by simulations, and it is shown that the MMUS strategy outperforms various benchmark strategies.

Taking different types of addictive drugs such as methamphetamine, heroin, and mixed drugs causes brain functional Changes. Based on the prefrontal functional near-infrared spectroscopy, this study was designed with an experimental paradigm that included the induction of resting and drug addiction cravings. Hemoglobin concentrations of 30 drug users (10 on methamphetamine, 10 on heroin, and 10 on mixed type) were collected. For these three types of individuals, the convolutional neural networks (CNN) was designed to classify eight Brodmann areas and the entire prefrontal area, and the average accuracy of the three classifications on each functional area was obtained. As a result, the classification accuracy was lower on the left side than on the right in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) of the drug users, while it was higher on the left than on the right in the ventrolateral prefrontal cortex (VLPFC), frontopolar prefrontal cortex (FPC), and orbitofrontal cortex (OFC). Then the differences in eight functional areas between the three types of individuals were statistically analyzed, and results showed significant differences in the right VLPFC and right OFC.

In this letter, proactive eavesdropping of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-based bidirectional point-to-point suspicious communication link is studied. The problem of joint successive interference cancelation (SIC) decoding ordering and jamming power allocation at the monitor for maximizing the weighted sum eavesdropping rate is formulated as mixed-integer nonlinear programming and then transformed to more tractable zero-one integer programming. A heuristic suboptimal algorithm and an optimal algorithm based on the branch-and-bound method are proposed. Simulation results show the advantageous of the proposed algorithms compared to the benchmarks, and also show that both algorithms are low-complex, and the suboptimal algorithm has further lower complexity and achieves almost the same performance as the optimal algorithm.

To elaborate on the development and characteristics of trauma orthopedic robots and their real curative effect in a clinical application through the collection and analysis of relevant literature and reported clinical results.We conducted the Embase, ScienceDirect, Pubmed, Medline, Wanfang, CNKI, and VIP search of the literature on robotic-assisted surgery in trauma orthopedics in China. We combined search terms with "robotic surgery/artificial intelligence surgery/navigation surgery," "trauma/trauma orthopedics," and "China/Chinese." The exclusion criteria were: (1) articles in languages other than English or Chinese, (2) articles focused on other topics other than robotic-assisted surgery in trauma orthopedics of China, (3) article types were not clinical studies (reviews, basic research, etc.), and (4) articles were not included in the Chinese core journals or science citation index. Authors, type of surgery, robot type, and clinical research results were recorded and analyzed.There were three categories of surgical robots in the clinical application of trauma orthopedics (TiRobot, electromagnetic navigation surgical robots, and small medical robots developed by Beijing Jishuitan Hospital). In terms of blood loss, the fluoroscopy time, and fluoroscopy frequency, most studies found that the robot group was significantly better than the traditional group.Robot-assisted surgery has obvious advantages in accuracy, stability, and reducing intraoperative radiation exposure, but there is no final conclusion about functional recovery.

The purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy of the scapular glenoid fractures by a new surgical approach (Axillary approach) through follow-up studies.We retrospectively analyzed the prospectively collected data from 11cases of glenoid fractures were treated by open reduction and internal fixation through a Axillary approach approach between July 2019 and October 2020. All patients were required to conform to regular follow up postoperatively. X-ray film and CT scan was applied to all cases. The Constant score system, the UCLA score system and DASH score system were used to evaluate functional results.All patients achieved bone union. At the final follow-up, the mean Constant score was 92.5 ± 3.0 (range 85-97) points and the mean UCLA score was 33.5 ± 1.6 (range 31-36) points. According to the UCLA score system, two patients achieved excellent results and one patients had good results. The mean DASH scores were 7.7 ± 3.2 (range 4-12). Compared with the preoperative functional score, it was significantly improved (P 0.01).The axillary approach as a new method for scapular glenoid fractures (especially the fracture of the lower half of the scapular glenoid) has achieved desired results, and it can provide new options for clinical treatment.Level III; Development or Validation of Outcome Instrument© 2018 Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Board of Trustees. Excess bone loss due to increased osteoclastogenesis is a significant clinical problem. Intraflagellar transport (IFT) proteins have been reported to regulate cell growth and differentiation. The role of IFT80, an IFT complex B protein, in osteoclasts (OCs) is completely unknown. Here, we demonstrate that deletion of IFT80 in the myeloid lineage led to increased OC formation and activity accompanied by severe bone loss in mice. IFT80 regulated OC formation by associating with Casitas B-lineage lymphoma proto-oncogene-b (Cbl-b) to promote protein stabilization and proteasomal degradation of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor–associated factor 6 (TRAF6). IFT80 knockdown resulted in increased ubiquitination of Cbl-b and higher TRAF6 levels, thereby hyperactivating the receptor activator of nuclear factor-κβ (NF-κβ) ligand (RANKL) signaling axis and increased OC formation. Ectopic overexpression of IFT80 rescued osteolysis in a calvarial model of bone loss. We have thus identified a negative function of IFT80 in OCs.

The motivation of this paper is to examine the evaluation of local surface stresses and hydrodynamic forces acting on a stationary or moving body using a diffuse interface immersed boundary method (IBM). This task is not trivial for the diffuse IBM because it uses a smoothed regularized delta function in the transfer steps between Lagrangian and Eulerian locations. In our earlier work [D. Xu et al., Phys. Rev. E 105, 035306 (2022)], a particle distribution function (PDF) discontinuity-based kinetic immersed boundary method (KIBM) was proposed based on the Boltzmann equation. This paper is a continuation of our work on the improvement of the KIBM in the framework of the diffuse interface IBM. In the present study, the concept of the immersed boundary layer (IBL) is brought forward, and the dynamic effects of particle advection and collision in the IBL are coupled and evaluated within a numerical time step scale in a kinetic manner. Consequently, the PDFs on both sides of the IBL are reconstructed, and the general immersed boundary force density can be obtained accurately and efficiently. Meantime, the local surface stress distribution acting on the body wall from the actual fluid can be conveniently and accurately calculated by the moment of the PDFs. Finally, some commonly used problems involving incompressible fluid flows in the continuum flow regime with stationary and moving boundaries are simulated by the present KIBM, and the results show that the present KIBM can significantly accelerate the rate of convergence and has a good agreement with other numerical and experimental results.
