Summary Foliicolous lichens are most abundant in tropical and subtropical humid regions, occurring only a few in Europe. Seven epiphyllous species are reported from a single, very humid site in the mountains in Calabria: Bacidina apiahica (Mull. Arg.) Vězda, Byssoloma leucoblepharum (Nyl.) Vain., B. subdiscordans (Nyl.) P. James, Fellhanera bouteillei (Desm.) Vězda, F. Christiansenii Serus., & Vězda, Porina leptosperma Mull. Arg., and Porina oxneri R. Sant.
