The title heterocyclic 2,3-diaminophenazine (DAP) hydrochloride with the crystallization solvent were obtained from three different routes and their structures were determined by X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, and IR.

The main effect of acupuncture can be described as mobilization and movement of qi and blood. It is reasonable to state that this effect is uniform and valid for the needling of all acupoints. The authors have concluded that the fundamental healing effect of acupuncture is the mobilization and movement of qi and by application of the most powerful acupoints and acupoint combinations, any kind of symptoms and diseases can be treated successfully. The theoretical reason for this is the qi. The qi implies the yin and the yang as well as the Five Elements. The Tao (or emptiness) created the Universe, the Universe created the qi, the qi created the yin and the yang. The yin and the yang created the Four Seasons (the time) and the Five Elements. The Five Elements created man and 1000 creatures. So when concentrating the acupoint selection on the qi, the differentiation according to yin and yang are no longer necessary because acupuncture is carried out on a level above the level of the Five Elements and the level of yin and yang! Therefore, one can differentiate between acupuncture of yin and yang (and Five Elements) level, and acupuncture of the qi level. The acupuncture on the qi levels the authors call qi Acupuncture. Qi Acupuncture is carried out in four stages using different categories of acupoints: Chronoacupuncture, “Basis Points”, diagnosis related distant points, and local or Ashi points.

Object: To show that increased and invigorated movement of qi and blood within the organism and their concentration in the diseased organ is crucial for acupuncture and limitations for acupuncture based upon Western medicine are not necessarily adequate. Methods: Symptom-related and chronoacupuncture were used within a five stages acupuncture beginning with needling of competent pair of confluent points and followed by Zi Wu Liu Zhu chronoacupuncture. Results: After 58 symptom-related acupuncture treatments the vision increased from 10 to 70 percent and remained stable. 18 months later one Zi Wu Liu Zhu chronoacupuncture was carried out following a needling concept of five stages. Within one hour the vision increased from 70 to 90 percent. Conclusions: Ophthalmologists should offer acupuncture to patients suffering from eye in-flammations and retina scars. Acupuncturists should use Zi Wu Liu Zhu and powerful acupoints and acupoint combinations in order to invigorate and to move qi and blood strongly. This case shows the effectiveness of acupuncture and chronoacupuncture in a case of retina scar caused by toxoplasmosis. Therefore, acupuncture treatment might be successfully applied in diseases where Western medicine cannot offer help.
