We study the Markovian and Non-Markovian dynamics in a giant atom system which couples to a coupled resonator waveguide (CRW) via two distant sites. Under certain conditions, we find that the giant atom population can exhibit an oscillating behavior and the photon can be trapped in the giant atom regime. These phenomena are induced by the interference effect among the bound states both in and outside the continuum. As an application of the photon trapping, we theoretically propose a magic cavity model where the giant atom serve as either a perfect or leaky cavity, depending on the distance between the coupling sites. The controllability of the magic cavity from perfect to leaky one can not be realized in the traditional cavity or circuit QED setup. The predicted effects can be probed in state-of-the-art waveguide QED experiments and provide a striking example of how the different kinds of bound states modify the dynamics of quantum open system in a structured environment., 13 pages, 6 figures, published on Phys. This work theoretically study the Bose-Hubbard model in a ring geometry in a rotating frame. We obtain an effective Hamiltonian by using unitary transformation, where the effect of the rotating reference frame is introducing additional phases to the hopping constant. Within the mean-field theory, the phase transition edge of the Bose-Hubbard model not only depends on the particle numbers and the ring radius, but also depends on the rotation velocity. Therefore, we propose a sensing method of the rotation velocity using the phase transition edge of the Bose-Hubbard model. At the exact phase transition edge where this sensing method is most sensitive, the resolution depends on the rotation velocity, the particle numbers and the ring radius, while is independent of the parameters in the Bose-Hubbard model such as the hopping constant and the on-site interaction., 6 pages, 6 figures

The giant atom system is a new paradigm in quantum optics, in which the traditional dipole approximation is not available. In this paper, we construct an artificial giant atom model by coupling a superconducting circuits to a transmission line by two coupling points. In the ultrastrong coupling regime, we show that the Lamb shift of the giant atom, which is induced by the non-negligible counter-rotating atom-waveguide coupling term, will modify its dissipation process. Furthermore, we investigate quantum Zeno and anti-Zeno effect where the size of the giant atom serves as a sensitive controller. Specifically, by comparing the critical measurement interval and the life time of the giant atom, we clarify the condition for the occurring of quantum anti-Zeno effect. In this work, a hybrid integration of few-layer transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) and ferroelectric polymer is designed to achieve passive control of optical properties in-situ. The electrical polarization in ferroelectric P(VDF-TrFE) polymer can regulate the photoluminescence (PL) in few-layer TMDCs. The total PL intensity is substantially suppressed or enhanced under opposite polarization in bilayer WSe2. This is because electrons transfer between valley K and {\Lambda} in the conduction band induced by the built-in electric field in P(VDF-TrFE) polymer. This charge transfer further changes the competing dynamics between direct and indirect exciton recombination path and overall optical radiation efficiency. We also illustrate that the engineered PL originates from external electric field dependent transferred electron effect. The theoretical result matches the experimental data well. This work demonstrates a device platform in which passive regulation is achieved using 2D TMDCs modulated by polarized ferroelectric materials.
