The mild–severe wear transition of aluminum alloys is considered evidence that the wear changes from a stable state to an unstable state, which is of great importance in engineering applications. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the mild–severe wear transition of the 2195 Al–Li alloy for different loads and to elucidate the causes behind it. To this end, dry sliding tribometric tests were carried out by varying the normal load from 2 to 40 N at room temperature. The results show that the change in wear rate can be divided into three distinct stages, including weak growth at low load (2–4 N), rapidly increased growth at medium load (8–16 N), and gradually increased growth at high load (32–40 N). The transition from mild to severe wear is observed at loads ranging from 4 to 8 N. Characterization of the worn surface of the Al–Li alloy via scanning electron microscopy shows that abrasion and oxidation are the dominant wear phenomena in the mild wear regime. On the other hand, delamination, adhesion, and severe plastic deformation become dominant in the severe wear regime. The reason for the occurrence of the transition is the tribo-induced plastic deformation of the substrate.

Constructing heterojunction is an attractive strategy for promoting photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance in water splitting and organic pollutant degradation. Herein, a novel porous BiVO4/Boron-doped Diamond (BiVO4/BDD) heterojunction photoanode containing masses of ultra-micro electrodes was successfully fabricated with an n-type BiVO4 film coated on a p-type BDD substrate by magnetron sputtering (MS). The surface structures of BiVO4 could be adjusted by changing the duration of deposition (Td). The morphologies, phase structures, electronic structures, and chemical compositions of the photoanodes were systematically characterized and analyzed. The best PEC activity with the highest current density of 1.8 mA/cm2 at 1.23 VRHE was achieved when Td was 30 min, and the sample showed the highest degradation efficiency towards tetracycline hydrochloride degradation (TCH) as well. The enhanced PEC performance was ascribed to the excellent charge transport efficiency as well as a lower carrier recombination rate, which benefited from the formation of BiVO4/BDD ultra-micro p-n heterojunction photoelectrodes and the porous structures of BiVO4. These novel photoanodes were expected to be employed in the practical PEC applications of energy regeneration and environmental management in the future.

The tribological properties of Al-Li alloys impact the reliability of components used in different industrial sectors. In this research, the effect of normal load on friction and wear properties of the extruded spray-formed 2195-T6 Al-Li alloy is investigated by using a pin-on-disk tester. Through the microstructure of the friction subsurface, it is evaluated that the friction coefficient of 2195 alloy decreases from 0.408 to 0.306 by increasing load (25 N to 150 N), while the wear rate increases exponentially. It is also analyzed that a mild-severe wear transition occurs between 100 N and 125 N and the main wear mechanism gradually shifts from abrasive wear and oxidative wear to delamination wear (25 N ∼ 100 N), and finally attains the state of severe plastic deformation (125 N ∼ 150 N). Under the action of normal load and friction shearing force, the deformation layer in the subsurface increases from 3 μm to 43 μm with increasing load, and the accumulation of strain leads to cracks and holes.

Objective: To verify the antigen association of MAF-J6-1 receptor with M-CSFR and to further study the role of M-CSF and its receptor mediated juxtaerine in promoting leukemic cell proliferation. Methods: Monoclonal antibody (McAb) of MAF-J6-1R RE2 and polyclonal antibody (PolyAb) of rhM-CSFR were prepared. The specificity of MeAh RE2 to M-CSFR was confirmed by indirect ELISA, cross-neutralizing assay with J6-1 cell colony formation and neutralization test by ELISA. Results: The reactive activity of purified RE2 to M-CSFR was over 1: 16000. The inhibitory activity of M-CSFR and MAF-J6-1R could be blocked by RE2 and antI-M-CSFR antibody. The reactivity of RE2 to M-CSFR could be reduced by M-CSFR. Conclusion: The specificity of RE2 to M-CSFR was confirmed and the antigen association of MAF-J6-1R with M-CSFR was proved, It suggests that M-CSF and its receptor mediated auto-juxtaerine stimulation could be an operative mechanism in either leukemia or nonhematological malignancies.

To explore the differences of phenotype and biological characteristics between fetal and adult bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells.Mononuclear cells from 4-5 months old human aborted fetus and normal adult bone marrow were cultured in SF medium to obtain mesenchymal stem cells. The growth curve, cell cycle, immunophenotype, in vitro expansion potential, differentiation capacities were investigated.The adherent fetal and adult bone marrow-derived cells cultured in the absence of differentiation stimuli gave rise to a population of cells with phenotypical features of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC). These MSCs were similar in cell morphology and antigenic phenotype. The proliferative and multilineage differentiation potential of the bone marrow derived MSC from the fetus is higher than that from the adult, but the adherent ability of the MSCs from the adult is higher than that from the fetus.Fetal bone marrow derived MSCs should be enough to sustain a steady supply of low differentiated cells for proliferation, hence an abundant and accessible cellular reservoir for stem cell bioengineering, whereas adult bone marrow derived MSCs are more useful in hematopoietic reconstitution in bone marrow transplantation.
