Light enables manipulating many-body states of matter, and atoms trapped in optical lattices is a prominent example. However, quantum properties of light are completely neglected in all quantum gas experiments. Extending methods of quantum optics to many-body physics will enable phenomena unobtainable in classical optical setups. We show how using the quantum optical feedback creates strong correlations in bosonic and fermionic systems. It balances two competing processes, originating from different fields: quantum backaction of weak optical measurement and many-body dynamics, resulting in stabilized density waves, antiferromagnetic and NOON states. The viscosity of nanofluids is studied by molecular dynamics method. It is considered the model nanofluids based on liquid argon with aluminum and lithium nanoparticles. The nanoparticle size ranges from 1 to 4 nm. The volume concentration of nanoparticles is varied from 1% to 12%. It is shown that the viscosity of the nanofluid increases with decreasing nanoparticle size. Potential contribution to viscosity of nanofluid considerably exceeds the kinetic one. Therefore parameters of molecule-molecule and nanoparticle-molecule potentials make the considerable impact on viscosity of nanofluids which, thus, depends on material of nanoparticles.

This paper presents new techniques and results of simulating microflows in plane channels by the molecular dynamics (MD) method. Mass forces and thermostat are not used in these techniques. The flows are simulated by both hard-sphere molecules and molecules with the Lennard-Jones intermolecular potential. Flow at a given fluid flow rate is implemented. In this case, the initial shock profile is transformed to a parabolic type profile. However, unlike in ordinary Poiseuille flows, a slip effect is recorded on the channel walls. It is shown that, in a nanochannel, a linear pressure gradient occurs. Fluid structuring is studied. The effects of fluid density, accommodation coefficients, and channel dimensions on flow properties are investigated. We show that the liquid-to-crystal quantum phase transition in the Rokhsar--Kivelson dimer model on the two-dimensional triangular lattice occurs as a condensation of vortex-like excitations called ``visons''. This conclusion is drawn from the numerical studies of the vison spectrum in the liquid phase by using the Green's function Monte Carlo method. We find that visons remain the lowest excitation throughout the liquid phase and that their gap decreases continuously to zero at the phase transition. The nature of the crystal phase and the second order of the phase transition are in agreement with the earlier prediction of Moessner and Sondhi [Phys. Rev. B 63, 224401 (2001)]., 4 pages, 4 figures

We report on an exhaustive investigation of the dynamical dimer-dimer correlations in imaginary time for the quantum dimer model on the triangular lattice using the Green's function Monte Carlo method. We show in particular that soft modes develop upon reducing the dimer-dimer repulsion, indicating the presence of a second-order phase transition into an ordered phase with broken translational symmetry. We further investigate the nature of this ordered phase, for which a 12-site unit cell has been previously proposed, with the surprising result that significant Bragg peaks are only present at two of the three high-symmetry points consistent with this unit cell. We attribute the absence of a detectable peak to its small magnitude due to the nearly uniform internal structure of the 12-site crystal cell., 6 pages, 8 figures
