The Hengduan Mountains, as one important biodiversity hotspots in the world, is notable for its high habitat heterogeneity and extreme plant diversity which including many endemics species. Incarvillea uniflora, a new species is described from Hengduan Mountains. The new species is similar to I. himalayensis in having red corolla, stemless, solitary flower, capsule 4-angled and winged seeds, but differs by the characters of stable simple leaves, long triangular calyx lobes and solitary or clustered flowers. It is considered to be Data Deficient (DD) due to the lack of further field investigation.

The rapid measurement of radon progeny concentration is of great significance for improving the efficiency of radon exposure dose evaluation in a specific area. In order to achieve rapid measurement of radon progeny concentration in engineering applications, this study is based on the rapid calculation function of BP (back propagation) neural network and uses other relevant environmental parameters to quickly obtain the radon progeny alpha potential energy. The relative standard uncertainty is 7.6% (k = 2), which met the uncertainty requirements of the standard of JJG (Military) 99-2015.The radon progeny alpha potential energy and its related parameters are substituted into the constructed neural network for training. According to the set training requirements, the range is set to 0–760 μJ/m3, and the simulation results meet the requirements of the "JJG (Military Industry) 99-2015" standard. The effect of rapid measurement can be achieved under the condition of ensuring measurement accuracy.

N-acylhydrazone compounds have two isomers, E/cis and E/trans, in polar solvents. In this work, 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) signals, coupling constants (J), and the spatial structures of the two isomers (E/cis and E/trans) of a novel carbazole-triazinoindole based N-acylhydrazone derivative 3, 2-(5H-[1,2,4] triazine[5,6-b]indol-3-ylthio)-N'-(9-ethylcarbazol-3-ylmethylene)acetylhydrazine, were obtained by one-dimensional and two-dimensional NMR techniques, infrared spectroscopy (IR) and elemental analysis. The ratios of the two isomers were determined.

This paper reviewed the clinical data of 15 children undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) for Fanconi anemia. All the children received comprehensive nursing measures including overall environmental protection, infection prevention, safety protection, psychological counseling and health education based on their disease characteristics and disease progression. Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation was successfully performed in 15 children with Fankone anemia. After transplantation, the mean time of neutrophil engraftment was (11. 67±1. 67) d, time of transferred out of laminar flow room was (13. 33±1. 49) d.

We explored the difference in expression of tubulin alpha 1b (TUBA1B) between Wilms’ tumor (WT) and normal tissues (NT) from in-house patients and databases, to determine TUBA1B expression in WT and the predictive pathways of coexpressed genes. In-house RNA-sequencing data were performed with WT and NT from three patients from our institute. Other four RNA-sequencing and microarray data were also downloaded from multiple public databases. The TUBA1B expression between WT and NT was analyzed by Student’s t-test and meta-analysis. The correlation between the expression of TUBA1B and other genes in each study was analyzed. Genes with p<0.05 and r>0.5 were considered as the coexpressing genes of TUBA1B. Overlapping the coexpressed genes of the five studies, including three in-house patients (3 WT vs. 3 NT), GTEx-TARGET (126 WT vs. 51 NT), GSE2172 (18 WT vs. 3 NT), GSE11024 (27 WT vs. 12 NT), and GSE73209 (32 WT vs. 6 NT), were performed with limma and VennDiagram packages in R software. The website of WEB-based GEne SeT AnaLysis toolkit were used to analyze the gene ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) functional annotations for the overlapped genes. The results showed that the relative expression of TUBA1B in WT tissues from in-house three patients was 280.0086, 141.7589, and 303.8292 and that in NT was 16.5836, 104.8141, and 12.79 (3 WT vs. 3 NT, p=0.0285, ROC=100%, SMD=2.74). Student’s t-test and meta-analysis in all studies revealed that the expression of TUBA1B was upregulated in WT tissues compared to that in NT (p<0.05, SMD=2.89, sROC=0.98). Finally, the research identified the expression of TUBA1B in WT tissues was significantly upregulated than that in NT. The coexpressed genes of TUBA1B were enriched in the pathway of DNA replication, mismatch repair, cell cycle, pathogenic Escherichia coli infection, and spliceosome.

To examine whether scrotoscopy could be used to diagnose testicular rupture (TR) with accuracy. This retrospective study included all patients receiving scrotoscopy followed by immediate open exploration (OE) for suspected TR at two Chinese tertiary care centers between March 2014 and March 2018. Fifteen patients suspected of having TR were included. TR was considered in 8 patients (8/15) via emergency scrotal ultrasound (ESU) examination. Of these 8 patients, 6 cases as well as 3 other cases, a total of 9 cases (9/15) were confirmed TR by scrotoscopy and OE; the remaining 6 patients (6/15) were found disease free. The presence/absence of TR was identified correctly with scrotoscopy in all 15 cases. The rupture size of the testicular tunica albuginea (TTA) varied from 0.5 to 2 cm. Only 3 cases (3/15) had scrotal wall edema and all quickly recovered. The testis was normal in size and blood flow at 6-month follow-up visit. Scrotoscopy accurately diagnoses TR, and may avoid unnecessary OE, especially for the patients confirmed free of disease.

Little thought has been given to the possibility that China’s repressive Tibet policy could be driven largely by its fear of external forces, as opposed to the government’s authoritarian nature. This article tries to explain why it was only in 1994 that Chinese authorities seriously and systematically strengthened religious control in Tibet. This had been put in place during the 1987–89 protests but never effectively enforced. The key is the Chinese leaders’ perception of external threats in the post-Tiananmen era, which prompted Chinese authorities to believe that instead of being mostly an ethnic nuisance, Tibetan separatism—utilizing Tibetan Buddhism as a “weapon”—had become a “tool” wielded by “hostile Western forces” seeking ultimately to break up China.

To detect the best antibiotic protocol for prostate biopsy and to assess the potential risk factors postbiopsy in Chinese patients. A total of 1526 patients underwent biopsy were assessed retrospectively. The effect of 3 antibiotic protocols was compared, including fluoroquinolone (FQ) monotherapy, third-generation cephalosporin combined with FQ and targeted antibiotics according to the prebiopsy rectal swab culture result. Postbiopsy infection (PBI) was defined as fever and/or active urinary tract symptoms such as dysuria or frequency with pyuria and/or leucocytosis, sepsis is defined as the presence of clinically or microbiologically documented infection in conjunction with systemic inflammatory response syndrome. The relationship between infections and clinical characteristics of patients was assessed. Data were first picked out in univariate analysis and then enter multivariate logistic regression. Thirty-three (2.2%) patients developed febrile infection. The combination antibiotic prophylaxis could significantly decrease the rate of PBI than FQ monotherapy (1.0% vs 4.0%, P = .000). The infection rate of the targeted antibiotic group was 1.1%, but there was no significant statistic difference compared with FQ alone (P = .349). Escherichia coli was the most predominant pathogen causing infection. Rectal swab revealed as high as 47.1% and 36.0% patients harbored FQ resistant and ESBL-producing organisms, respectively. In univariate analysis, overweight (BMI between 25 and 28 kg/m2), obesity (BMI > 28 kg/m2), diabetes were picked out as potential risk factors. Obesity remained as risk factor (OR = 12.827, 95% CI: 0.983–8.925, P = .001) while overweight and diabetes were close to significance (P = .052, .053, respectively). The combined cephalosporin with FQ prophylaxis could significantly decrease the risk of infectious complications. Obesity was an independent risk factor for PBI.

By using of concentration sensors on the premixed tower, the stratification phenomenon of methane has been observed; the change rule of methane concentration at different heights of premixed tower has been analyzed. The results show that, the relation between the time that methane concentration began to be stable and the height of methane in premixed tower shows linear function: T=T0+Ah; the relation between the stable methane concentration and the height of methane in premixed tower shows exponential function: C=C0(1-eAh) .Based on this, a simple, economic and safe method of separating and purifying methane in coal-bed gas has been proposed.

Evaluating the possible impact on power system of a large number of electric vehicles (EVs) is becoming of great interest. With the development of V2G technology, electric vehicles constitute a significant power reserve. In addition, batteries in electric vehicles may be used to provide storage capability for energy produced by renewable sources and to supply auxiliary services to the grid. The paper presents the preliminary results of an on-going project aimed at evaluating the impact of electric vehicles on power system. The simulation results shows significant benefits of V2G on the daily load profiles and network planning. Hypotheses such as battery size, number of users, load profiles without and with different EV penetration are presented for successive scenarios set-up and simulations.

By using of high-speed camera on the experimental platform of gasoline flame propagation, gasoline (93#) flame shape and propagation characteristic have been studied under different propagation angles. Experimental results showed that, an orange main flame zone and a blue flashover flame zone were observed in gasoline flame propagation processes; as the angle between propagation direction and horizontal plane increased gradually, the fluctuation range of the main flame narrowed gradually in perpendicular to gasoline surface direction, the speed of the main flame forward propagation tended to be uniform and the average value of it increased gradually in parallel to gasoline surface direction.

From 2005 to 2010, the infection rates of schistosomiasis among residents (above 6 years old) were 13.34%, 9.59%, 4.81%, 3.03%, 2.35% and 2.19%, respectively. The positive rates of schistosomiasis among domestic animals fluctuated from 2.50% to 25.92%. Oncomelania snails were not found inside embankment since 1980, yet a high density of infected snails was found at low and uneven areas outside embankment. The cattle were the main infectious source and we should strengthen the administration and control of cattle.

The maximum Ca(2+)-activated force, maximum velocity of unloaded shortening and both Ca(2+)- and actin-activated ATPase activities of myosin have been measured in detergent-skinned preparations of isolated bundles of rat right ventricle after exposure of the intact tissue to different conditions of superfusion, mechanical activity and temperature. 2. Maximum Ca(2+)-activated force per unit cross-sectional area decreases with increasing cross-sectional area, and, in the absence of electrical stimulation, with the duration of superfusion. Maximum velocity of unloaded shortening is not influenced by these differences. 3. Actin-activated ATPase activity of myosin decreases as cross-sectional area increases and duration of superfusion increases, but the extent of the decrease in enzymatic activity is less than that of developed force. Ca(2+)-activated ATPase activity is independent of these differences. 4. Actin-activated ATPase activity in cryostatic sections of quickly frozen tissue is not uniform across the transverse section. In thin bundles, it is highest in the centre and lowest at the edge of the section, which correspond, respectively, to the centre and the surface of the tissue bundle. Exposure of the tissue section to 1 microM-cyclic AMP increases the actin-activated ATPase activity of myosin with the largest increase in activity occurring at or near the surface of the bundle. 5. Ca(2+)-activated ATPase activity of myosin is uniform across the transverse section and is not changed by cyclic AMP. 6. Electrical stimulation, elevated Ca2+ concentration in the superfusion medium, or isoprenaline partially or completely reverse the decline in maximum Ca(2+)-activated force produced by prolonged superfusion of the bundle before its skinning. 7. These observations are similar in many ways to those made on frog skeletal muscles by Elzinga, Howarth, Rull, Wilson & Woledge (1989a). An explanation based on the existence of a physiological mechanism for regulating the properties of force generators is proposed. Regulation of the attachment of the cross-bridge to an actin filament may be the basis for the regulatory mechanism.

To solve the problem of unsupervised anomaly detection, an unsupervised anomaly-detecting algorithm based on an evolutionary artificial immune network is proposed in this paper. An evolutionary artificial immune network is “evolved” by using unlabeled training sample data to represent the distribution of the original input data set. Then a traditional hierarchical agglomerative clustering method is employed to perform clustering analysis within the algorithm. It is shown that the algorithm is feasible and effective with simulations over the 1999 KDD CUP dataset.

Low visible light absorption and high charge carrier recombination rate are two main disadvantages of TiO2 as a photocatalyst which severely limit its practical applications. To overcome the problems, Fe mono-doped and (Fe+Mo) co-doped TiO2 were synthesized and studied. It was found that (Fe+Mo) co-doping can further increase the visible absorption and improve the photocatalytic property of TiO2 compared with Fe mono-doping; Fe mono-doping improves the photocatalytic property of TiO2 only at very low doping level (Fe concentration less than 1.0%), while by co-doping a small amount of Mo with Fe, the effective doping concentration of Fe can be pushed to a higher level and the photocatalytic property of TiO2 can be further improved. Photoluminescence spectra indicated that Mo dopant may play a role in retarding the recombination process when co-doped into TiO2 with Fe. The mechanism behind was discussed. It was suggested that doping a small amount of Mo into Fe-TiO2 might be an efficient way to further improve the photocatalytic property of Fe-TiO2 without losing its photocatalytic specificity.

In earlier papers Kendall and Le[3,4] made a geometrical study of the structure and singularities of a convex-polygonally generated shape-density for any convex polygon K. The present work describes the singular tessellation T(K) in algebraic terms, and obtains explicit formulae for the ‘jump functions’ of m̃ across every edge of the tessellation. These results, combined with earlier work by Le[5] on the basic tile, make it possible to find m̃ explicitly in every tile by what we have called the ‘stepping-stone’ method. In a closing section the exact order of the differential singularity is found at the tile boundaries.

Kendall and Le [4] gave an exact algorithm for the computation of a polygonally generated (auxiliary) shape-density m̃(x, y) which we used to obtain ‘exact’ numerical densities for given (x, y). Here I derive an explicit formula for m̃(x, y), for an arbitrary convex plane polygon K, valid when the shape-point (x, y) lies in what will be called the ‘(upper) basic tile’ of the associated singular tessellation. In most circumstances this is all that is needed for the statistical analysis of collinearities.

This paper is concerned with the shape-density for a random triangle whose vertices are randomly labelled and i.i.d.-uniform in a compact convex polygon K. In earlier work we have already shown that there is a network of curves (the singular tessellation T(K)) across which suffers discontinuities of form. In two papers which will appear in parallel with this, Hui-lin Le finds explicit formulae for (i) the form of within the basic tile T 0 of T(K), and (ii) the jump-functions which link the local forms of on either side of any curve separating two tiles. Here we exploit these calculations to find in the most general case. We describe the geometry of T(K), we examine the real-analytic structure of within a tile, and we establish by analytic continuation an explicit formula giving in an arbitrary tile T as the sum of the basic-tile function and the members of a finite sequence of jump-functions along a ‘stepping-stone' tile-to-tile route from T 0 to T. Finally we comment on some of the problems that arise in the use of this formula in studies relating to the applications in archaeology and astronomy.

Hyperpermeable cells from rat heart contain a cAMP-dependent system that can increase the maximum Ca-activated force (contractility) of the contractile proteins. In two different conditions where the relative concentration of the myosin isozymes changes, i.e., hypothyroidism and aging, the size of the increase in contractility from activation of the cAMP-regulated system varies closely with the relative concentration of V1, the isozyme of myosin with the greatest Ca- and actin-activated ATPase activity. The existence of another system for the regulation of the slow isozyme V3 has been demonstrated, and it may be inhibited by beta-adrenergic activity. The possibility of cAMP-dependent myosin regulation of contraction in addition to Ca regulation of troponin is considered. Phosphorylation of the contractile proteins themselves is not required for the increased contractility.

The development of the active force in the cardiac muscle is related to β-adrenergic stimulation which controls the number of Ca responsible V1 and V3 force generators. The latter influences the amount of tension that can be produced and by altering the ratio of the V1 and V3 force generators, it regulates the kinetics of the contraction.

Calcium-independent regulation of the contractile proteins of cardiac muscle has been studied using hyperpermeable cells from rat ventricles and sections of quickly-frozen rat hearts. These preparations have been used to study maximum Ca-activated force, myosin ATPase activity and the maximum velocity of unloaded shortening. Beta adrenergic activity increases the amount of force and the ATPase activity in accordance with the concentration of the V1 isozyme of myosin. V3 activity is decreased at the same time. In tissues containing only V1, there is no change in maximum velocity in response to beta adrenergic stimulation. These results indicate that beta adrenergic stimulation recruits V1 force generators and probably regulates the transition between a Ca unresponsive and a Ca responsive force generator. This type of regulation provides the cell with the ability to operate along many different force-velocity relations.
