BackgroundAnastomotic leakage (AL) after gastrectomy is one of the severest postoperative complications and is related to increasing mortality. In addition, no consensus guidelines about strategies of AL treatment have been established. This large cohort study aimed to inspect the risk factors and efficacy of the conservative treatment for AL in patients with gastric cancer.MethodsWe reviewed the clinicopathological data of 3,926 gastric cancer patients undergoing gastrectomy between 2014 and 2021. Results contained the rate, risk factors, and conservative therapy outcomes of AL.ResultsIn total, 80 patients (2.03%, 80/3,926) were diagnosed with AL, and esophagojejunostomy was the most frequent AL site (73.8%, 59/80). Among them, one patient (2.5%, 1/80) died. Multivariate analysis indicated that low albumin concentration (P = 0.001), presence of diabetes (P = 0.025), laparoscopic method (P < 0.001), total gastrectomy (P = 0.003), and proximal gastrectomy (P = 0.002) were predicting factors for AL. The closure rate for the conservative treatment of AL in the first month after AL diagnosis was 83.54% (66/79), and the median time from leakage diagnosis to the closure of leakage was 17 days (interquartile range 11–26 days). Low level of plasma albumin (P = 0.004) was associated with late leakage closures. In terms of 5-year overall survival, no significant difference was observed between patients with and without AL.ConclusionThe incidence of AL after gastrectomy is associated with low albumin concentration, diabetes, the laparoscopic method, and extent of resection. The conservative treatment is relatively safe and effective for the AL management in patients after gastric cancer surgery.

Finger vein modality has unique advantages, allowing it to play an important role in biometrics. However, the approach to vein imaging and information acquisition typically adopted in current vein verification systems employs a monocular camera to acquire a single-view 2D vein image from only one side of the finger, which causes two problems: it acquires limited vein pattern information for verification, and it causes clear differences among samples of the same subject captured from different finger positions in contact-free mode. Both of these problems have adverse effects on system performance. In general, existing systems are more sensitive to positional variations of the finger, particularly those caused by pitch and roll movements. This concern remains a challenge despite considerable efforts to address it in recent years. To provide a fundamental solution to the above issues, we propose an entirely new system, which includes a software and hardware platform that collects a full-view of the vein pattern information from whole fingers with three cameras, a novel 3D reconstruction method to build the full-view 3D finger vein image, and a corresponding 3D finger vein feature extraction and matching strategy based on a lightweight convolutional neural network (CNN) with depthwise separable convolution. Experimental results demonstrate the potential of our proposed system and show that compared to the traditional single-view 2D mode of finger vein recognition, the new system both efficiently improves the recognition performance and simultaneously takes full advantage of additional valid information provided by the finger vein biometrics.

Energy and environmental concepts have been extensively studied in the past. However, these studies often lacked integrated analysis of energy, monetary, public, and ecological aspects to assess energy and environmental issues. This article provides analyzation of the G7 nations’ qualitative, social, cultural, and health achievement in the energy poverty indexes. These include the energy economics and climate change of energy poverty, by using DEA like a composite indicator. The G7 countries’ combined energy consumption is equal to 34% of the world’s total, whereas the GDP is 50% of the global total. As a result, this article develops a comprehensive series of energy, financial, societal, and environmental indicators that are up to date. Such indicators are utilized to assess energy financial, societal, and EPI using a mathematical composite indicator. Canada has the greatest EPII score, indicating that it can deal better than the other G7 countries with energy independence, productivity expansion, and social impact, and France’s and Italy’s the second tier. While Japan has a 0.50 EPI grade and the United States will have the lowest, the G7 countries are growing faster. Finally, we propose a policy framework for enhancing the research area. The energy, societal, and EPI were created by combining these elements. In terms of energy independence, economic growth, and sustainability practices, Canada beats the other G7 countries according to the data. France and Italy are in the 2nd and 3rd places, respectively. Despite having a higher level of economic development than the G7 countries, Japan has a 0.50 Environmental Performance Index rating, whereas the United States has a minimum average Environmental Performance Index rating. Finally, in order to improve the study’s subject, we propose a policy framework.

The rise of “cloud-computing, mobile-Internet, Internet of things, big-data, and smart-data” digital technology has brought a subversive revolution to enterprises and consumers’ traditional patterns. Product research and development has become the main battlefield of enterprise competition, facing an environment where challenges and opportunities coexist. Regarding the concepts and methods of product R&amp, D projects, the domestic start was later than the international ones, and many domestic companies have also used successful foreign cases as benchmarks to innovate their management methods in practice. “Workers must first sharpen their tools if they want to do their jobs well”. This article will start from the relevant concepts of product R&amp, D projects and summarize current R&amp, D management ideas and methods. We combined the bibliometric analysis software Histcite and Citespace to sort out the content of domestic and foreign literature and explore the changing trends of research hotspots. Finally, combined with the analysis of confirmed cases in domestic masters and doctoral dissertations to test the theory, the literature review of the product R&amp, D project management theme was carried out from the dual perspectives of comprehensive theory and practice. This study uses the core collection library of Web of Science as the object of document extraction. Based on the search conditions of “Product development” or “Intergrat* product development”, 8998 sample documents were initially retrieved. The search deadline was June 2019, with a time range from 2000 to June 2019. Then, using the record number of 50 as the critical condition, 5007 analysis samples were deleted, refined, and cleaned. Through the review and measurement of 5007 papers, the analysis showed that: (1) in the last ten years, sustainability, consumer focus, new approaches to product development management, and organizational design have become critical considerations in the product development process stage, (2) at this stage, researchers are paying more attention to the innovation, design, product development, identification, simultaneous engineering, consequence, and stage/gate model aspects of product development, and (3) factors such as long development cycles, high costs, and poor organizational design are now common problems in the product development process.

The university science and technology innovation system is an essential bridge between higher education and national innovation development. Since the founding of the Communist Party of China, the scientific and technological innovation system of Chinese universities has intermingled with the historical environment and internal and external factors and has gone through several stages of development from weak to strong and from fragile to solid. In this process, the Communist Party of China has always been firmly based on the central concept of people-oriented, using a forward-looking vision to develop the macro deployment of the university science and technology innovation system and finally using the combination of ideology and politics, the three-wide education throughout the sustainable development, and optimization of the system, returning to the “university” nature of the university science and technology innovation system, to achieve the fusion of the system and the Party-building development. To this end, the university science and technology system in the new era must continue to uphold the leadership of the Communist Party of China, draw on the power of the three chains led by the Party, inductively form contemporary inspiration from the logic of construction over the past century, and adapt to the complex and changing world situation of the future.

Finger vein pattern has been proven to be an effective biometric for personal identification in recent years. Nevertheless, there remain challenges that need to be solved, such as finger-vein features that lack robustness and expressiveness. In this paper, we propose a deep convolutional neural network (CNN) model, named the Finger-vein Network (FV-Net), to learn the features representative of a finger vein that is more discriminative and robust than handcrafted features. Next, to address the issue of translation and rotation in vein imaging, we propose a template-like matching strategy while designing the top architecture of the FV-net to extract features with spatial information. Finally, the extensive experimental results show that our proposed method can achieve excellent performance on several public datasets.

Understanding the behaviors of the material removal mechanism of ultra-precision polishing process has been a critical issue of generating well-formed surface. In order to make clear the abrasive self-rotation effects on material removal at the atomic level, a three-dimensional molecular dynamics (MD) model is conducted to study the mechanics of ultra-precision polishing on single-crystal copper with a diamond abrasive and the effects of abrasive self-rotation velocity and direction. Morse potential energy function and EAM potential energy function are applied to model the copper/diamond and copper/copper interactions, respectively. The simulation results show that the deformation mechanism of single-crystal copper is due to the formation and movement of dislocations in the specimen. In addition, with the increasing of abrasive self-rotation velocity, the deformation mechanism falls from cutting to plowing regimes. The abrasive self-rotation velocity and direction have effects on the morphology and quality of the specimen surface, distribution and evolution of defects under the surface of the specimen. Also, the interatomic force between abrasive and specimen is studied to account for the effects of different polishing conditions.
