The Word Lexical Database is a vast collection of English words that categorizes nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs into sets of cognitive synonyms. This database may seem similar to a thesaurus, as it also groups words based on their meanings, but there are key differences. Unlike a thesaurus that only links word forms, the Word Lexical Database links specific senses of words, thereby disambiguating words found in close proximity. Additionally, the Word Lexical Database annotates the semantic relationships between words, whereas a thesaurus does not follow any explicit pattern besides meaning similarity in the grouping of words.

Seasonal changes in physicochemical characteristics were investigated in Zuzuwadi Lake and Ballur Lake in the Hosur District of Tamil Nadu, India. Throughout the year, mean air and water temperatures ranged from 27.0 to 32.0ºC. The dissolved oxygen concentrations at each station throughout the summer and winter seasons were in the range of 6.0 ± 0.113 (±1.89%) to 9.0 ± 1.118 (±1.57%) ppm and 12.0 ± 0.127 (±1.05%) to 13.5 ± 0.445 (±3.51%) ppm, correspondingly. The conductivity was between 300.0 ± 1.652 (±4.15%) to 329.0 ± 2.422 (±4.15%) µS/cm. The nitrate content of Lake Zuzuwadi ranges from 8.0 ± 0.113 (±1.62%) to 10.0 ± 1.132 (±12.57%) ppm, indicating that the water is oligotrophic and could destroy aquatic ecosystems. In Lake Zuzuwadi, the Biological Oxygen Demand and Chemical Oxygen Demand remained at 5.0 ± 0.113 (±1.62%) and 200.0 ± 12.652 (±4.15%) ppm, respectively, but in Lake Ballur, they were 9.0 ± 1.386 (±19.80%) and 200.0 ± 12.652 (±4.15%) ppm. Both stations had salinities of less than 200.0 ± 1.497 (±0.50%) ppm. Lake Zuzuwadi has been found to have algal blooms. According to the comparative Physico-chemical parameter interpretations, Lake Zuzuwadi is oligotrophic in nature, while Lake Ballur is slightly contaminated, containing a diverse array of aquatic creatures that rely on the lakes to exist. Zuzuwadi Lake had a WQI of 60.6 ± 0.999 (±1.65%), whereas Ballur Lake had a WQI of 70.4 ± 0.784 (±1.11%) indicating that the water quality is bad.

The extensive mangrove forest of Gorai Creek, Mumbai coast, has recently seen substantial deterioration. The results of a study on mangrove diversity conducted in Gorai Creek on the Mumbai coast from June 2017 to May 2018 are presented here. During the course of the study, twelve species of mangroves from five families and eight genera were identified in each of the three study locations along the creek. Avicennia marina accounted for 13.44% of the Gorai creek marshes, confirming its predominance. Sonneratia alba, Avicennia officinalis, Rhizophora apiculata, Bruguiera cylindrica, Kandelia candel, and Acanthus ilicifolius are among the mangrove species found in the estuarine embayment, with other species strewn around. A diverse range of species, including endangered migratory birds and herpetofauna, can be found in these mangrove environments. Mangroves have been observed to have narrowed in density with time, and it is critical to begin conservation efforts as speedily as humanly possible.

Mechanical bonding between dissimilar metals is challenged due to the differences in their properties. In this paper, the influence of tapering in friction welding (FW) between AA6063 and AISI304L and the effect of welding parameters are investigated to obtain quality joints. Different experiments were carried out for this study with main influencing parameters such as upset pressure (UP), friction time (FT) and friction pressure (FP). Tensile test, impact test and microhardness distribution along weld zone, heat affected zone (HAZ), parent zone of welded joint were evaluated and the results were compared. Microstructure study observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed the bonding between two dissimilar metals. Fractography analysis showed the dimple rupture. Tensile strength and peak load increased with increasing friction pressure. The formation of intermetallic compounds at the weld interface was confirmed with the EDX spectrum. The tapering on faying surface of SS304L specimen reduced the friction time needed for sound weld joints and increases the properties of joint. Since no appreciable researches have been done on the joining between AA6063 and AISI304L with minimum working pressure through FW, special attention was given to this work with a taper on faying portion. The minimum parameters required for the joining were also understood through this investigation.

The patient had hyperpigmentation in the thigh region for 6 months and serous discharge for 4 months. All initial findings suggested the inflammatory stage of morphea. Differential diagnoses of granuloma annulare, malignant melanoma and morphea were considered radiologically. A good suspicion of fungal aetiology by the dermatologist led to an appropriate diagnosis of subcutaneous basidiobolomycosis based on fungal culture and histopathological examination. Based on macroscopic and microscopic findings, the causative organism was confirmed to beBasidiobolus ranarum. The patient was started on oral potassium iodide and itraconazole and showed a good prognosis.

PurposeTo evaluate changes in health-related and vision-related quality of life (VRQoL) among patients with noninfectious uveitis who were treated with antimetabolites.DesignSecondary analysis of a randomized controlled trial.ParticipantsPatients with noninfectious uveitis from India, the United States, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Mexico.MethodsFrom 2013 through 2017, 216 participants were randomized to receive 25 mg weekly oral methotrexate or 1.5 g twice daily oral mycophenolate mofetil. Median changes in quality of life (QoL) were measured using Wilcoxon signed-rank tests, and differences between treatment groups were measured using linear mixed models, adjusting for baseline QoL score, age, gender, and site. Among Indian patients, VRQoL scores from a general scale (the National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire [NEI-VFQ]) and a culturally specific scale (the Indian Visual Function Questionnaire [IND-VFQ]) were compared using Pearson correlation tests.Main outcome measuresVision-related QoL (NEI-VFQ and IND-VFQ) and health-related QoL (HRQoL; physical component score [PCS] and mental component score [MCS] of the Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short Form Survey [SF-36v2]) were measured at baseline, the primary end point (6 months or treatment failure before 6 months), and the secondary end point (12 months or treatment failure between 6 and 12 months).ResultsAmong 193 participants who reached the primary end point, VRQoL increased from baseline by a median of 12.0 points (interquartile range [IQR], 1.0-26.1, NEI-VFQ scale), physical HRQoL increased by a median of 3.6 points (IQR, -1.4 to 14.9, PCS SF-36v2), and mental HRQoL increased by a median of 3.0 points (IQR, -3.7 to 11.9, MCS SF-36v2). These improvements in NEI-VFQ, SF-36v2 PCS, and SF-36v2 MCS scores all were significant (P < 0.01). The linear mixed models showed that QoL did not differ between treatment groups for each QoL assessment (NEI-VFQ, IND-VFQ, PCS SF-36v2, and MCS SF-36v2; P > 0.05 for all). The NEI-VFQ and IND-VFQ scores for Indian participants were correlated highly at baseline and the primary and secondary end points (correlation coefficients, 0.87, 0.80, and 0.90, respectively).ConclusionsAmong patients treated with methotrexate or mycophenolate mofetil for uveitis, VRQoL and HRQoL improved significantly over the course of 1 year and did not differ by treatment allocation. These findings suggest that antimetabolites could improve overall patient well-being and daily functioning.

Non Small Cell Lung Cancer(NSCLC) is the most common type of Lung Cancer. It is characterized by multiple mutations, the commonest being the EGFR and KRAS. Afatinib is an immaculate drug used in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, with EGFR mutations. Here we are presenting a case of a 70 year old male, with Non-Small Cell Lung Carcinoma, started on Afatinib, who subsequently developed multiple raised skin lesions over the face, neck and the upper chest. On examination, multiple crusted papules and pustules over the face and anterior chest were present. A diagnosis of Photo distributed Acneiform Eruption secondary to Afatinib was made. Patient was treated appropriately and lesions subsided with post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.This article highlights the characteristic Afatinib induced papulo – pustular eruptions, which eventually responded to treatment.

Production and textile industries have some of the hazards in nature. There are various hazards associated with various process in textile industry like blow room, carding, drawing, roving, spinning, cone winding, chemical storage room which cause increased rate of frequency and severity of accident. Corrosion is one of them. This study brings forward the concept of reducing the corrosion on mild steel pipeline affected by caustic soda lye in textile industry. In this paper, the preparation steps of ZrO2 and pellet for the coating on low carbon steel (AISI 1010) by sputtering coating technique is explained and corrosion test was done. SEM images confirm the uniform coating of ZrO2 on 1010 steel. By referring various acts and standards and recommended action has been suggested to reduce the risk associated with the operation of process in textile industries. Hardness is also measured.

The dynamic analyses of rotating systems are always a testing task to obtain the definite results. This paper carries the dynamic modelling, analysis and identification of coupled flexible rotor system supported by an auxiliary Active Magnetic Bearings (AMBs). An identification algorithm is used to estimate the dynamic parameters of AMB, and rotor residual mass imbalance. The proposed algorithm is a right method for the analysis of fully levitated rotor on AMBs. Finite element method is used to model the dynamic flexible rotor system with PID controller. A conventional dynamic condensation technique is implemented in the development of identification algorithm to overcome the difficulty in numerical simulation. The least-squares fit technique is deployed to estimate the dynamic parameters in frequency domain. Then the algorithm is extended to find the misalignment forces and moments at the coupling point. Numerical study is carried to check the correctness of the algorithm. The proposed algorithm is yet to be tested to experimental results from a fully levitated rotor test rig supported with AMBs.

This paper presents a multi level inverter with seven level voltage generation scheme using cascaded H-bridge MLI topology utilizing reduced number of DC sources. By utilizing switched capacitor methodology the number of DC sources required to generate seven levels is minimized. Three numbers of H-bridges are employed in seven level generations where only one dc source is used and in the remaining bridges only capacitors are used along with a unidirectional switch for capacitor charging. This paper utilizes a multi carrier PWM technique based on phase shifted carrier for generating pulses to get seven level output. This paper also discusses the switching schemes for charging switches used and there is a small dip in efficiency of this inverter due to the existence of power loss which occurs during charging and discharging the capacitors. The advantage of this inverter is it can produce an output voltage higher than the input voltage in the ratio 1:3 and also the output voltage have lesser harmonics than conventional square and quasi square wave inverters due to multilevel output voltage. The proposed multi level inverter using single DC source and three cascaded h bridges using carrier phase shifted sine PWM technique is implemented in MATLAB/Simulink platform and merits of the proposed inverter system is verified through simulations.

BACKGROUND: Bowen disease (BD) is a rare, persistent, and progressive form of in situ Squamous Cell Carcinoma characterized by a solitary red, scaly or crusted plaque with potential for malignant change around 8%. Persistent growth usually occurs but partial regressions are not uncommon. Several modalities of treatment are available which show varying results. In our Case Report, we present a 74-year-old male who was diagnosed with Bowen's Disease clinico-pathologically and was treated with cyclical topical 5% 5-FU cream and Cryotherapy using Liquid Nitrogen. CASE DESCRIPTION: A 74-year-old male came to our OPD with complaints of a single, persistent, asymptomatic psoriasiform plaque of size measuring 4x4 cm over his abdomen for 3 years. The plaque was progressively enlarging and showed resistance to topical therapies with salicylic acid, potent topical steroids, and emollients for the past 3 years. A clinical diagnosis of Bowen's Disease was made, and biopsy was done. Histopathological Examination revealed intra-epidermal dysplasia with characteristic 'wind-blown' appearance of keratinocytes in the epidermis. Atypical mitotic gures were seen. Dense lymphocytic inltrate with pigment laden macrophages were seen at DEJ. Patient was started on topical 5% 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) cream which he applied three nights a week along with Cryotherapy using Liquid Nitrogen (8 sessions of cryotherapy with two 5-10 secs Freeze-Thaw cycles were done at 3 weekly intervals). Biopsy taken at end of 6 months showed a normal epidermis with no evidence of in situ changes. Next evaluation will be after 3 months. CONCLUSION: There are multiple treatment modalities available for BD with no option superior to other. 5% 5-FU is showing increasing effectiveness (up to 96.2%) especially when combined with other treatment options such as cryotherapy which on its own showed great clearance rates (greater than 90%) depending on the duration of freeze-thaw cycles. Main advantage of this combination is its ease of application, low cost and non-invasiveness.

In this clinical analysis, 100 cases of Pityriasis Rosea were analysed in Department of Dermatology, Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, Coimbatore the following points were observed · Clinical diagnosis of Pityriasis Rosea was easy, based on the presence of Herald Patch, characteristic morphology and distribution pattern of the lesions. · The present study has revealed male preponderance. · The age incidence was found to be high in adolescents and young adults. · No familial incidence was observed. · The diseases were more frequent in the winter and rainy months with sporadic cases occurring throughout the year. · Factors like wearing of new garments, stress and upper respiratory tract infections were found to precipitate the disease in some cases. · The Herald Patch was observed to occur in the covered areas of the body, mostly over the trunk. The secondary eruptions had a wide spectrum of morphological forms with a variable distribution. Unilateral Pityriasis Rosea was also observed in this study. · Most of the patients had complete resolution of the lesions in 6 to 9 weeks but, erythema multiforme like Pityriasis Rosea and Pityriasis Rosea with palmoplantar involvement tends to persist for a longer duration. · In most of the patients the lesions vanished without trace and post inflammatory hypopigmentation was noted in few patients, but none had hyperpigmentation. · There was no complication in any of the patients. · History of recurrence of the disease was also present in 2 cases. · Histopathological study showed the features of non specific chronic dermatitis. In conclusion most of the clinical features, course and complications were consistent with the findings reported in the literature.

ImportanceMethotrexate and mycophenolate mofetil are commonly used immunomodulatory therapies for achieving corticosteroid-sparing control of noninfectious uveitis, but there is uncertainty about which drug is more effective.ObjectiveTo compare the effect of methotrexate and mycophenolate for achieving corticosteroid-sparing control of noninfectious intermediate uveitis, posterior uveitis, and panuveitis.Design, setting, and participantsThe First-line Antimetabolites as Steroid-sparing Treatment (FAST) uveitis trial screened 265 adults with noninfectious uveitis requiring corticosteroid-sparing immunosuppressive therapy from 9 referral eye centers in India, the United States, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Mexico between August 22, 2013, and August 16, 2017. Follow-up ended on August 20, 2018.InterventionsPatients were randomized to receive oral methotrexate, 25 mg weekly (n = 107), or oral mycophenolate mofetil, 3 g daily (n = 109).Main outcomes and measuresThe primary outcome was treatment success at 6 months, which was defined as having control of inflammation in both eyes, no more than 7.5 mg prednisone daily and less than or equal to 2 drops of prednisolone acetate 1%, and no treatment failure due to safety or intolerability. Patients underwent follow-up to 12 months while receiving the same treatment or switched to the other antimetabolite, depending on their 6-month outcome.ResultsAmong 216 patients who were randomized (median age, 38 years; 135 (62.5%) women), 194 (89.8%) completed follow-up through 6 months. Treatment success occurred in 64 (66.7%) patients in the methotrexate group vs 56 (57.1%) in the mycophenolate group (difference, 9.5% [95% CI, -5.3% to 21.8%]; odds ratio [OR], 1.50 [95% CI, 0.81 to 2.81]; P = .20). Among patients with posterior uveitis or panuveitis, treatment success was achieved in 58 (74.4%) in the methotrexate group vs 42 (55.3%) in the mycophenolate group (difference, 19.1% [95% CI, 3.6% to 30.6%]; OR, 2.35 [95% CI, 1.16 to 4.90]; P = .02); whereas among patients with intermediate uveitis treatment success occurred in 6 (33.3%) in the methotrexate group vs 14 (63.6%) in the mycophenolate group (difference, -30.3% [95% CI, -51.6% to 1.1%]; OR, 0.29 [95% CI, 0.08 to 1.05]; P = .07; P for interaction = .004). Elevated liver enzymes were the most common nonserious laboratory adverse event, occurring in 14 patients (13.0%) in the methotrexate group and 8 patients (7.4%) in the mycophenolate group.Conclusions and relevanceAmong adults with noninfectious uveitis, the use of mycophenolate mofetil compared with methotrexate as first-line corticosteroid-sparing treatment did not result in superior control of inflammation. This study was designed to assess (i) the prevalence of extrinsic stains in preschool children (ii) the correlation between extrinsic stains and the occurrence of early childhood caries (ECC) (iii) to compare the distribution of caries in pits and fissures, smooth surfaces or both among children with and without extrinsic stains.A cross-sectional study was carried out among 1,486 children aged 0-3 years. Extrinsic stain and ECC were scored by two calibrated examiners. Correlation between ECC pattern and extrinsic stains was analysed by logistic regression. Caries distribution in fissures, smooth surfaces or both were analysed using Mann Whitney test and Pearson chi-squared test.The prevalence of extrinsic stains among 0-3 years children was 6.2%. Children with extrinsic stain had a 1.13-fold greater chance of exhibiting ECC (OR = 1.132, 95% CI: 0.739-1.733). Statistically significant differences were found for fissure caries (p0.0002) and both smooth surface and fissure caries (p0.0328) among children in both groups.Occurrence of ECC appears to have surface-specific variations in children with and without extrinsic stains. However, the interaction of these individual factors and their impact on oral health outcomes needs to be identified through further research.

The current research was carried out to study the effect of different inclusion level of cashew apple waste (CAW) to improve the ileal digestibility of nutrients and performance of broilers supplemented with non-starch polysaccharides (NSP) degrading enzymes. Two hundred and ten day-old Vencobb broiler chicks divided into 7 groups with 3 replicates of 10 chicks in each. Birds of groups G1, G2, G3 which received CAW at 0, 5 and 10 per cent, respectively. G4 and G5 birds fed with 5 per cent CAW, and were additionally fed NSP degrading enzyme at 500 g and 750 g/ton, respectively. Halophiles are salt loving organisms that inhabit hypersaline environments. They possess the potential to provide significant opportunities for pharmacology. Moreover, by the concentration of seawater in arid environments, hypersaline environments may easily be created. These facts, along with the presence of novel and stable biomolecules in halophilic bacteria and Archaea, suggest that these microorganisms will prove even more treasured in coming. In the present investigation, water samples were collected from three different sites of Puthalam salt pan. The samples were aseptically transported to the laboratory and subjected to serial dilution using sea water. Among that 10-6 dilution was taken for the study. 3 different coloured colonies were observed on Zobell marine agar plates, incubated at 37°C for 12 days whereas red coloured colony was taken for further study such as biochemical characterization, pH and temperature optima, halophilicity, growth in the presence of various carbon, N2 as well as inorganic sources and various organic solvents. The observed results indicated that the strain is a red coloured, motile, gram negative rod with evenly spreaded colonies. It shows positive results with catalase, oxidase, gelatin liquefaction, starch hydrolysate, casein production, glucose, sucrose, dextrose and mannitol tests. The isolate shows its well established growth at pH 8.8, temperature 42°C and NaCl of 29% (excluding the media salinity). It utilizes wide range of carbon, N2 and inorganic sources as well as organic solvents for its growth. The isolate was identified as Halomonas utahensis by 16S rRNA sequencing. The nucleotide sequence was submitted to Gen Bank and assigned the accession number KY986725.

Object recognition is the method of finding an object in an image. We recognize objects without any effort easily. It is a challenging task for computer vision systems due to the size, shape, and structure of objects in an image. In this paper, an efficient object recognition system is presented based on Empirical Wavelet Transform (EWT). The energy features obtained form the EWT decomposed image is used as features for the given object. As EWT, a multiresolution analysis, the given image is decomposed at various level of decomposition and the obtained features are analyzed at each level of decomposition. The evaluation of the system is carried on Columbia Object Image Library Dataset (COIL) which consists of 100 objects captured at different orientations. The classification is done with K- nearest neighbor (KNN) which gives 98.42% accuracy.

To summarise the evidence for the efficacy of oral health educational programmes provided to expectant mothers for preventing Early Childhood Caries (ECC) and to determine the most effective intervention programme.The search strategy included clinical trials in the Cochrane Oral Health Group's Trials Register, PubMed, Science Direct, Google Scholar, LILACS and ClinicalKey (up to 26 August 2013) in English. Reference lists of identified randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and review articles were also hand searched. Studies were selected according to predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria.The search identified 392 studies, only four of which were included. Risk ratios (RR) were calculated. The quality of the evidence was assessed by the GRADE approach. Results showed statistically significant decreases in caries incidence (RR = 0.18, 95% CI [from 0.06 to 0.52]) in one study. Meta-analysis could not be performed.Oral health educational programmes for expectant mothers may have a positive impact in preventing ECC, although the evidence is weak.

Two UV-spectrophotometric methods have been developed and validated for simultaneous estimation of Sacubitril (SAC) and Valsartan (VAL) in bulk and tablet dosage form. The Method A employs absorbance ratio method, which involves formation of Q-absorbance equation at 242.0 nm (isoabsorptive point) and also at 253.5 nm (λmax of SAC). Method B employs first order derivative, the wavelengths selected for quantitation were 233.0 nm for VAL (Zero cross for SAC) and 247.0 nm for SAC (Zero cross for VAL). For both the methods drugs were linear between the range of 4.9–24.5 μg/ml for SAC and 5.1–25.5 μg/ml for VAL using methanol and distilled water as solvents. The correlation coefficient was found to be 0.9995 for SAC and 0.9996 for VAL for method A and 0.9998 for SAC and 0.9999 for VAL for method B, respectively. The precision (intraday, interday) of methods was found within limits (RSD < 2%). It could be concluded from the results obtained in the present investigation that the two methods for simultaneous estimation of SAC and VAL in bulk and tablet dosage form are simple, rapid, accurate, precise and economical and can be used, successfully, in the quality control of tablet formulations and other routine laboratory analysis.

In this paper, wavelet transform based method for underwater object recognition is presented. In this approach, input images are decomposed into sub-bands using multi resolutional analysis known as Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). Each sub-band in the decomposed image having valuable information about the image, the mean values of every sub-band are assumed as features. This system is tested on underwater object database. The database contains 200 pictures of 100 different objects. The database is considered for the classification based on K-Means Neural Network (KNN) classifier. The outcome shows that maximum recognition accuracy of 94.65% is obtained by this method.

Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN) is a rare and acute life threatening mucocutaneous reaction characterized by extensive necrosis and detachment of the epidermis, most commonly drug induced. Lenalidomide is a derivative of thalidomide used in treatment of multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes. We present a case of TEN in lenalidomide treated patient of multiple myeloma with HIV.

This study focuses on the use of an ionic liquid for extracting an aromatic hydrocarbon from a mixture of an aromatic and an aliphatic hydrocarbon. Liquid−liquid equilibrium data were collected for the toluene + heptane + 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium triiodide system at 45 °C and for the toluene + heptane + 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium triiodide system at 35 °C. The nonrandom two-liquid (NRTL) physical thermodynamic model was used to correlate the experimental data. The NRTL model was found to represent the data very well. The selectivity and capacity of the ionic liquids for extracting toluene from toluene + heptane solutions were evaluated. The separation factors were found to be above 50 for low toluene compositions and nearly unity for high toluene compositions.
