During hospitalization due to stroke, patients can have acute kidney injury (AKI) as a possible complication which is frequently overlooked and underestimated in clinical trials. To assess the prevalence of renal dysfunction in acute stroke patients and to assess its prognostic significance A total of 100 patients were recruited for this study with diagnosis of stroke. Renal dysfunction was evaluated in the form of Acute kidney injury and unrecognized renal dysfunction (Baseline Normal serum Creatnine Analysis of data was done using SPSS-17.Independent t-test and chi-square test were used to calculate difference between two groups Our study shows prevalence of acute kidney injury in patients of stroke is 15%. Moreover, the study showed that AKI after stroke was associated with higher in-hospital mortality and poorer functional outcome at 1 month. Acute kidney injury appears to be a common complication after stroke and is related to increased mortality and disability in stroke.AKI is common complication after stroke and frequent cause of poor functional outcome.

Autosomal recessive inheritance pattern in a case of hereditary optic atrophy is uncommon. Patients with recessive optic atrophy without involvement of any other system are rare. There is no causative gene or genetic mutation associated with it. Here we report a case of a 16-year-old girl which was diagnosed to be a case of AROA. Genetic analysis done in this patient revealed G15043A mutation. Identification of similar cases of the AROA can increase our understanding of the disorder and formulate treatment options. Reflex seizures are defined as epileptic events that are triggered only by specific stimuli which can be external or complex internalmental processes. Reading epilepsy is one such rare form of reflex epilepsy. In primary reading epilepsy, typical attacks are jaw jerks(clicking sensation or stammering), that may evolve into GTCS if reading continues. As reading epilepsy is task-specific, they aregenerally misdiagnosed as non-epileptic and thought to be due to stress related to studies. We report the case of a young male whohave jaw jerks along with blank staring spells while reading which was misdiagnosed as pseudoseizures. This rare case highlights thiseasily treatable benign reflex epilepsy syndrome.

Lateral medullary syndrome presents with features of ipsilateral Horner syndrome, ipsilateral ataxia, and contralateral hyperalgesia. Patients can have ipsilateral lower motor neuron-type of facial palsy if there is rostral extension of the infarct as it involves the facial nucleus. Presence of ipsilateral upper motor neuron facial palsy is rare, which is due to the involvement of the corticofacial fibers which ascend in the dorsal medulla to reach the facial nerve nucleus. Our case supports the presence of this hypothetical neuroanatomical loop of supranuclear corticofacial fibers.

Cataract represents one of the most frequent eye complications in type 1 DM and type 2 DM patients; contrarily, acute cataract in young diabetic patients occurs very rarely. Only few cases with acute bilateral cataract - all relatively shortly after the diagnosis of type 1 DM have been reported. It can affect visual acuity from slight visual impairment to complete blindness. Although usually associated with chronic hyperglycaemia, it may also occur on rapid restoration of euglycaemia.1 Early detection of diabetes and adequate glycaemic control, particularly in female adolescents, may prevent this debilitating complication of diabetes.

Today High-Performance Computing (HPC) market is finding an increasing rate of adoption of the technology in a number of industries and verticals. With the increased adoption of the HPC technology, there is also rise in the concerns with the security aspects of this technology. Many of the system engineers and technologists that worked closely with the HPC technology believes HPC security posture is in parity with traditional computer infrastructure security. The goal of this paper is to share the learning of common security gaps and also to increase awareness in the market on how best to alleviate the security concerns for the HPC deployments. After analyzing many of the HPC deployments, at Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and National Institutes of Technology (NITs) in India, CDAC team has identified many common security loopholes and corresponding solutions for better security environment without fundamentally changing how they have deployed and way of using the HPC infrastructure.

Emotion Detection has been a topic of great research in the last few decades. It plays a very important role in establishing human computer interface. We as humans are able to understand the emotions of other person but it is literally impossible for the computer to do so. The present work is to achieve the same as accurately as possible. Emotion detection can be done either through text, speech, facial expression or gesture. In the present work the emotions are detected using Electroencephalography (EEG) signals. EEG records the electrical activity within the neurons of the brain. The main advantage of using EEG signals is that it detects real emotions arising straight from our mind and ignores external features like facial expressions or gesture. Hence EEG can act as real indicator of the emotion depicted by the subject. We have employed Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and Machine Learning techniques such as Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) to classify EEG signals into seven different emotions. The accuracy achieved with both the algorithms is computed and compared. We are able to recognize seven emotions using the two algorithms, SVM and LDA with an average overall accuracy of 74.13% and 66.50% respectively. This accuracy was achieved after performing a 4-fold cross-validation. Future applications of emotion detection includes neuro-marketing, market survey, EEG based music therapy and music player.

Wertheim's thermodynamic perturbation theory of first order (TPT1) is based on the approximation that the monomer–monomer distribution functions can be approximated by the reference fluid distribution functions regardless of the amount of bonding. This is remarkably accurate for chains formed by tangent spheres, but no longer valid for chains of fused spheres. This constitutes the reason for the inadequacy of TPT1 for fused sphere chains. We present a systematic modification of TPT1, the path integral perturbation method, that takes into account the variations of the distribution functions with extent of bonding. We demonstrate the accuracy of the theory for mixtures of hard spheres and diatomics over a range of extent of bonding (pure monomers to pure dimers) and degree of fusion (bond length 0–1). We found that the choice of reference fluid was decisive for the accuracy of the model's predictions. The gas solubility of the CH 4 + CO 2 mixture in pure water, and electrolyte solutions containing NaCl and Na 2 SO 4 was measured in the temperature range of 280–292 K. Within the experimental accuracy, the experimentally measured gas solubility obeys the Henry’s law in the form of the Krichevsky-Kasarnovsky equation near (but above) hydrate formation temperature. The ternary solubility data can be predicted by the binary ones. It was found that the CO 2 solubility in the aqueous phase decreases in the presence of the electrolytes. Very accurate methane solubility data in the ternary system are required to identify the effects of electrolytes on solubility and selectivity.
