Leishmaniasis is caused by protozoans of the Leishmania genus, which includes more than 20 species capable of infecting humans worldwide. In the Americas, the most widespread specie is L. braziliensis, present in 18 countries including Bolivia. The taxonomic position of the L. braziliensis complex has been a subject of controversy, complicated further by the recent identification of a particular subpopulation named L. braziliensis atypical or outlier. The aim of this study was to carry out a systematic analysis of the L. braziliensis complex in Bolivia and to describe the associated clinical characteristics. Forty-one strains were analyzed by sequencing an amplified 1245 bp fragment of the hsp70 gene, which allowed its identification as: 24 (59%) L. braziliensis, 16 (39%) L. braziliensis outlier, and one (2%) L. peruviana. In a dendrogram constructed, L. braziliensis and L. peruviana are grouped in the same cluster, whilst L. braziliensis outlier appears in a separate branch. Sequence alignment allowed the identification of five non-polymorphic nucleotide positions (288, 297, 642, 993, and 1213) that discriminate L. braziliensis and L. peruviana from L. braziliensis outlier. Moreover, nucleotide positions 51 and 561 enable L. peruviana to be discriminated from the other two taxa. A greater diversity was observed in L. braziliensis outlier than in L. braziliensis-L. peruviana. The 41 strains came from 32 patients with tegumentary leishmaniasis, among which 22 patients (69%) presented cutaneous lesions (11 caused by L. braziliensis and 11 by L. braziliensis outlier) and 10 patients (31%) mucocutaneous lesions (eight caused by L. braziliensis, one by L. braziliensis outlier, and one by L. peruviana). Nine patients (28%) simultaneously provided two isolates, each from a separate lesion, and in each case the same genotype was identified in both. Treatment failure was observed in six patients infected with L. braziliensis and one patient with L. peruviana.

This job studies the relationship between engagement, vocation and job crafting for a sample of 42 people mostly based in Andalusia, all of them in active employment, between 29 and 60 years old. The results suggest that there is a strong relationship between vocation and engagement, while the job crafting variable is not significant for the model (the p-value of the F statistic for that variable is 0.131, and therefore clearly greater than 0.05, working at 95% standard level of significance). Likewise, the results show higher vocation and engagement values in people working in the Service sector compared to the Industrial Sector; in older people rather than younger people; and in the rest of Spain compared to Andalusia. It is also observed that factors such as sex or type of contract (indefinite or temporary) do not show significant variations in the levels of vocation and engagement obtained. Finally, the only anomaly of the model is that people belonging to the Public Sector show a greater vocation than those who work in the Private Sector, while obtaining worse results in their engagement levels. El presente trabajo estudia la relación entre engagement, vocación y job crafting para una muestra de 42 personas en su mayoría radicadas en Andalucía, todas ellas en situación laboral activa, entre 29 y 60 años. Los resultados sugieren que existe una relación fuerte entre vocación y engagement, mientras que la variable job crafting no resulta significativa para el modelo (el valor p del estadístico F para dicha variable es 0.131, y por tanto claramente superior a 0.05, trabajando al nivel de significación estándar del 95%). Asimismo, los resultados muestran valores de vocación y engagement superiores en las personas que trabajan en el sector servicios en comparación con el sector industrial; en personas de mayor edad; y en otras CCAA en comparación con Andalucía. También se observa que factores como el sexo o la tipología del contrato (indefinido o temporal) no muestran variaciones significativas en los niveles de vocación y engagement obtenidos. Por último, la única anomalía del modelo estriba en que las personas pertenecientes al sector público muestran una mayor vocación que aquellas que trabajan en el sector privado, mientras que obtienen peores resultados en sus niveles de engagement. El present treball estudia la relació entre engagement, vocació i job crafting en una mostra de 42 persones majoritàriament d'Andalusia, totes elles en situació laboral activa, entre 29 i 60 anys. Els resultats suggereixen que hi ha una relació forta entre vocació i engagement, mentre que la variable job crafting no resulta significativa per al model (el valor p de l'estadístic F per a aquesta variable és 0.131, i per tant clarament superior a 0,05, treballant al nivell de significació estàndard del 95%). Així mateix, els resultats mostren valors de vocació i engagement superiors en les persones que treballen en el sector serveis en comparació amb el sector industrial; en persones de més edat; i en altres CCAA en comparació amb Andalusia. També s'observa que factors com el sexe o la tipologia del contracte (indefinit o temporal) no mostren variacions significatives en els nivells de vocació i engagement obtinguts. Finalment, l'única anomalia del model rau en el fet que les persones pertanyents al sector públic mostren una major vocació que aquelles que treballen en el sector privat, mentre que obtenen pitjors resultats en els seus nivells d'engagement.

OBJETIVO: Determinar la morbimortalidad del recién nacido macrosómico en el Hospital III Suárez Angamos durante el año 2014. METODOLOGÍA: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo y de corte transversal, incluyó a 182 recién nacidos macrosómicos, durante el año 2014. Para el análisis de los resultados de esta investigación se utilizó la estadística descriptiva a través de estudio de frecuencias absolutas y porcentajes. RESULTADOS: De 1,920 recién nacidos en el periodo de estudio, 182 (9.48%) fueron macrosómicos, la edad materna fue de 20 a 35 años en el 72.5%. El 53.3% nació por parto vaginal y el 46.7% por cesárea. El sexo predominante fue el masculino con el 60.5%, el Apgar promedio entre 7 y 10 al minuto representó el 97.8%, la edad gestacional por examen físico fue de 37 a 41 semanas en el 96.7% de los casos. Respecto al peso al nacimiento 85.2% pesó entre 4,000 y 4,499gr. La morbilidad neonatal representó el 22%. No tuvimos mortalidad neonatal. Las principales complicaciones fueron: 7.7% trauma obstétrico, 5.5% hipoglicemia, 3.8% dificultad respiratoria, 2.7% hiperbilirrubinemia y 1% hipoxia perinatal. CONCLUSIONES: La incidencia de macrosomía neonatal fue 9.48%. El sexo predominante fue el masculino. Las principales complicaciones fueron: traumatismo obstétrico, hipoglucemia y dificultad respiratoria. Se estableció mayor presencia de morbilidad neonatal a mayor grado de macrosomía.
