Search

We search for a $B$ decay mode where one can find a peak for a $D \bar{D}$ bound state predicted in effective theories and in Lattice QCD calculations, which has also been claimed from some reactions that show an accumulated strength in $D \bar{D}$ production at threshold. We find a good candidate in the $B^+\to K^+ \eta\eta$ reaction, by looking at the $\eta\eta$ mass distribution. The reaction proceeds via a first step in which one has the $B^+\to D_s^{*+} \bar{D}^0$ reaction followed by $D_s^{*+}$ decay to $D^0 K^+$ and a posterior fusion of $D^0 \bar{D}^0$ to $\eta \eta$, implemented trough a triangle diagram that allows the $D^0 \bar{D}^0$ to be virtual and produce the bound state. The choice of $\eta\eta$ to see the peak is based on results of calculations that find the $\eta\eta$ among the light pseudoscalar channels with stronger coupling to the $D \bar{D}$ bound state. We find a neat peak around the predicted mass of that state in the $\eta\eta$ mass distribution, with an integrated branching ratio for $B^+\to K^+$ ($D\bar{D}$, bound) ; ($D\bar{D}$, bound) $\to \eta \eta$ of the order of $1.5 \times 10^{-4}$, a large number for hadronic $B$ decays, which should motivate its experimental search.

High-entropy ceramics (HECs) are solid solutions of inorganic compounds with one or more Wyckoff sites shared by equal or near-equal atomic ratios of multi-principal elements. Material design and property tailoring possibilities emerge from this new class of materials. Here, we report the discovery of superconductivity around 2.35 K and topological properties in the (Ti0.2Zr0.2Nb0.2Hf0.2Ta0.2)C high-entropy carbide ceramic (HECC), which has not been observed before in any of the investigated HECC. Density functional theory calculations showed that six type-II Dirac points exist in (Ti0.2Zr0.2Nb0.2Hf0.2Ta0.2)C, which mainly contributed from the t2g orbitals of transition metals and the p orbitals of C. Due to the stability of the structure, we also observed robust superconductivity under pressure in this HEC superconductor. This study expands the physical properties of HECs, which may become a new material platform for superconductivity research, especially for studying the coupling between superconductivity and topological physics., 30 pages, 5 figures

We study the molecular probability of the $X(3872)$ in the $D^0 \bar D^{*0}$ and $D^+ D^{*-}$ channels in several scenarios. One of them assumes that the state is purely due to a genuine nonmolecular component. However, it gets unavoidably dressed by the meson components to the point that in the limit of zero binding of the $D^0 \bar D^{*0}$ component becomes purely molecular. Yet, the small but finite binding allows for a nonmolecular state when the bare mass of the genuine state approaches the $D^0 \bar D^{*0}$ threshold, but, in this case the system develops a small scattering length and a huge effective range for this channel in flagrant disagreement with present values of these magnitudes. Next we discuss the possibility to have hybrid states stemming from the combined effect of a genuine state and a reasonable direct interaction between the meson components, where we find cases in which the scattering length and effective range are still compatible with data, but even then the molecular probability is as big as $95 \%$. Finally, we perform the calculations when the binding stems purely from the direct interaction between the meson-meson components. In summary we conclude, that while present data definitely rule out the possibility of a dominant nonmolecular component, the precise value of the molecular probability requires a more precise determination of the scattering length and effective range of the $D^0 \bar D^{*0}$ channel, as well as the measurement of these magnitudes for the $D^+ D^{*-}$ channel which have not been determined experimentally so far.

Throughout its history, Operational Research has evolved to include a variety of methods, models and algorithms that have been applied to a diverse and wide range of contexts. This encyclopedic article consists of two main sections: methods and applications. The first aims to summarise the up-to-date knowledge and provide an overview of the state-of-the-art methods and key developments in the various subdomains of the field. The second offers a wide-ranging list of areas where Operational Research has been applied. The article is meant to be read in a nonlinear fashion. It should be used as a point of reference or first-port-of-call for a diverse pool of readers: academics, researchers, students, and practitioners. The entries within the methods and applications sections are presented in alphabetical order. The authors dedicate this paper to the 2023 Turkey/Syria earthquake victims. We sincerely hope that advances in OR will play a role towards minimising the pain and suffering caused by this and future catastrophes.

Ostiole 65–135 µm long, 65–130 µm diam. (x = 108 µm × 96 µm, n = 10), black, papillate, glabrous, shiny, lined with hyaline periphyses. Ascomatal wall multi-layered, outer layers 12–47 µm thick, composed of brown to dark brown cells of textura angularis, carbonized and form a thicker layer in the lower part of the ostiole, inner layers 13–33 µm, comparatively thick, composed of flattened, hyaline cells of textura prismatica. Hamathecium 2.5–5.0 µm wide (x = 4.0 µm, n = 30), comprising numerous, narrowly cylindrical to filiform, branched, septate paraphyses, not embedded in a gelatinous matrix. In addition, the ostiolar neck of X. lucida is short-beaked and distinctly longer (Réblová et al. 2014) than our new taxon, X. aquatica. The multi-gene (ITS-LSU-SSU- tef1-α -rpb2) phylogenetic analyses suggested that our isolate clustered together with the generic type X. lucida and formed a distinct lineage (100% ML; 1.00 PP) in Woswasiaceae. In addition, a nucleotide comparison of X. aquatica (CGMCC 3.23639) and X. lucida (CBS 135996) revealed 25 basepair (5 %) and 70 base-pair (7.2 %) differences in ITS (+ 5.8S) and rpb2, respectively (TABLE 2). Xylochrysis aquatica is introduced as a new species based on the moprhology and phylogeny evidences.

Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiodrainage (PTCD) and percutaneous transhepatic biliary stenting (PTBS) may be used as a palliative treatment for inoperable patients with malignant biliary obstruction (MBO) to improve the prognosis and their quality of life. However, acute pancreatitis is a common and severe complication that cannot be ignored after PTCD and PTBS in patients with MBO. A few cases may develop severe pancreatitis with a higher mortality rate. In this study, we summarize the known risk factors for acute pancreatitis after percutaneous biliary interventional procedures and investigate possible risk factors to reduce its occurrence by early identifying high-risk patients and taking appropriate measures.

Foamy viruses belong to the Spumaretrovirinae subfamily member of the Retroviridae family and produce nonpathogenic infection to hosts in the natural conditions. However, infections of foamy viruses can dramatically cause severe cytopathic effects in vitro. To date, the exact molecular mechanism has remained unclear which implied the tremendous importance of virus-host cell immune reactions. In this study, we found that the transactivator Tas in two foamy viruses isolated from Old World Monkey (OWM) induced obvious inhibition of cell proliferation via the upregulation of Foxo3a expression. It was mediated by the generation of ROS and the initiation of ER stress, and ultimately, the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway was triggered. Notably, PFV Tas contributed to the accumulation of G0/G1 phase cycle arrest induced by the activation of the p53 signaling pathway and the nuclear transportation of HDAC4 via upregulating PPM1E expression. Together, these results demonstrated the different survival strategies by which foamy virus can hijack host cell cytokines and regulate virus-host cell interactions.

OBJECTIVE: To formulate a nomogram to predict the risk of one-year mortality after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) based on a large-scale real-world Asian cohort. METHODS: This study cohort included consecutive patients undergoing PCI in the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases of China. The endpoint was all-cause mortality. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator Cox regression and backward stepwise regression were used to select potential risk factors. A nomogram based on the predictors was accordingly constructed to predict one-year mortality. The performance of the nomogram was evaluated. Patients were stratified into low-, intermediate- and high-risk groups according to the tertile points in the nomogram and compared by the Kaplan-Meier analysis. RESULTS: A total of 9603 individuals were included in this study and randomly divided into the derivation cohort (60%) and the validation cohort (40%). Six variables were selected to formulate the nomogram, including age, renal insufficiency, cardiac dysfunction, previous cerebrovascular disease, previous PCI, and TIMI 0–1 before PCI. The area under the curve of this nomogram regarding one-year mortality risks were 0.792 and 0.754 in the derivation cohort and validation cohort, respectively. Kaplan-Meier curve successfully stratified the patients according to three risk groups. This nomogram calibrated well and exhibited satisfactory clinical utility in the decision curve analysis. CONCLUSIONS: This study developed and validated a simple-to-use nomogram predicting one-year mortality risk in Asian patients undergoing PCI and could help clinicians make risk-dependent decisions.

We perform a theoretical study of the Ds+→π+π+π−η decay. We look first at the basic Ds+ decay at the quark level from external and internal emission. Then we hadronize a pair or two pairs of qq¯ states to have mesons at the end. Posteriorly the pairs of mesons are allowed to undergo final state interaction, by means of which the a0(980), f0(980), a1(1260), and b1(1235) resonances are dynamically generated. The G parity is used as a filter of the possible channels, and from those with negative G parity only the ones that can lead to π+π+π−η at the final state are kept. Using transition amplitudes from the chiral unitary approach that generates these resonances and a few free parameters, we obtain a fair reproduction of the six mass distributions reported in the BESIII experiment.

Mass-transport complexes (MTCs) in sedimentary basins reflect the gravitational transport of sediments from the shelf edge to the abyssal plain. Megaclasts, large sedimentary blocks of hundreds of meters long within MTCs, can record kinematic and sedimentary information deemed essential to understanding source-to-sink systems. Yet, deformation structures in such megaclasts remain poorly understood. This study uses high-quality, three-dimensional (3-D) seismic reflection data from the deep-water Taranaki Basin offshore New Zealand to analyze the morphological character of 123 megaclasts and propose a new classification scheme based on their morphometric properties. The megaclasts are up to 400 m tall, 1900 m long, and 1200 m wide. In the study area, they are high- to moderate-amplitude features owing to their different lithologies and continuous-to-contorted seismic facies. The megaclasts can be classified as undeformed, rotated, deformed, and highly deformed based on their internal deformational styles. Two different kinds of morphological depressions observed on their basal shear zones further indicate whether the megaclasts are transported or formed in situ. Our study demonstrates that quantitative parameterization of the megaclasts provides important information about their deformational processes and a more complete understanding of megaclast emplacement along continental margins.

Customers' voluntary behaviors (i.e., customer citizenship behaviors, CCBs) are of ever-increasing interest, given that they produce extraordinary value for service providers. Whether customer perceived support (CPS) from service providers leads to CCBs has remained largely understudied in service marketing literature. Moreover, the underlying mechanisms through which CPS can result in CCBs receives even less attention in previous studies. Thus, the purpose of this research is to examine the influence of CPS on target-based CCBs (customer- and firm-oriented CCBs), and the mediating roles of two important relational factors (customer-based brand reputation (CBR) and customer satisfaction (CS) in the relationship between CPS and CCBs in the context of after-sales service. Structural equation modeling using AMOS was employed to empirically test the hypotheses on survey data from 368 Chinese smartphone customers. The results showed that CPS positively influenced firm-oriented CCBs, while there was no direct link between CPS and customer-oriented CCBs. Furthermore, CBR and CS mediated the relationship between CPS and CCBs, respectively. This research contributed greater clarity and a better understanding of how CPS effectively boosts CBR and CS to encourage customers' voluntary behaviors desired by service providers.

Purpose Career plateau and employee silence are negative employee management phenomena that should be overcome but are challenging. However, relatively speaking, when employees reach a particular career stage, it is inevitable that the hierarchical plateau in the career plateau will occur, while the phenomena of employee silence have the chance to improve. This paper aims to study the influence mechanism of the career plateau on employee silence in an uncertain environment and then provides theoretical support for enhancing the organizational phenomenon of employee silence. Design/methodology/approach After considering the effects of career plateau and social desirability of employee silence, this paper obtained 313 samples based on the pilot survey, which were collected anonymously online and offline. Based on passing the data quality test, this experiment uses hierarchical regression, Bootstrap method, interaction graph and slope test to test the mediating variable Findings The results show a significant positive correlation between career plateau and employees' silent behavior. Affective commitment plays a partial mediating role between career plateau and employees' silent behavior. Organizational justice not only negatively moderated the relationship between career plateau and affective commitment but also negatively moderated the indirect effect of career plateau on silent behavior through affective commitment. Originality/value First, based on the theory of uncertainty management and social exchange theory, this paper develops a behavioral response to the organizational environment based on the principle of fair exchange when employees perceive an uncertain environment. This study innovatively applied the two theories together in one study, establishing a link between the two theories. Second, this study explores the influence of career plateau on employee silence and empirically tests the silent behavior based on the previous division of three dimensions of career plateau. The third study explores affective commitment, the black box of the relationship between career plateau and employee silence. This research also enriches the related research on affective commitment.

Food borne diseases cause millions of deaths every year around the world. The major factors contributing to food borne diseases and the prevalence of food poisoning among students are the food preparation process, lifestyles, physical cleanliness and water supplies. Food mismanagement by food handlers and students’ and food handlers’ poor knowledge of food hygiene are the factors that lead to food poisoning among school students. The objectives of this study are to: investigate how food handlers carry out food preparation; determine students’ and handlers’ standards of food hygiene assess the physical cleanliness of school canteens and the purity of their water supplies; and develop guidelines for the prevention of food poisoning. The aspects investigated in this study are the food preparation process, knowledge of food hygiene, physical cleanliness and food poisoning prevention methods.

The internal gelation process without cooling at room temperature is a significant challenge for the preparation of yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) ceramic microspheres. In this work, a high-throughput and instant-mixing droplet microfluidic system that can prepare monodisperse YSZ ceramic microspheres was constructed. It mixed two stable solutions at room temperature in an active micromixer at a flow rate of mL/min, and then the mixed unstable precursor solution was quickly dispersed into sol droplets through a coaxial microfluidic device, and the droplets solidified into gel microspheres. The washed and dried gel microspheres could be sintered to obtain ceramic microspheres. Compared with no-micromixing and T-junction micromixers, the system had the best mixing performance and Y and Zr elements in the prepared ceramic microspheres were evenly distributed. Therefore, the system overcame the problem of precursor solution solidification and clogging of the device, and provided a new approach for the internal gelation process without cooling at room temperature.

Forming black, lenticular spots on the host surface, with Conidiomata breaking through raised cracks with a black center. teleomorph: Undetermined. anamorph: Conidiomata 170–320 μm diam. × 100–180 μm high (x = 237 × 128 μm; n = 10), pycnidial, scattered, immersed to slightly erumpent, multilocular or unilocular, forming a slit-like opening at the apex, black, glabrous, ostiolate. Ostiole in the center of the pileus, circular, dark brown, ostiolar canal filled with hyaline cells, non-papillate. Conidiomatal wall 9–16 μm diam. (x = 12.5 μm; n = 10), multi-layered, composed of thick-walled, hyaline to brown cells of textura angularis or textura prismatica. Conidiophores arising all around the cavity of the conidiomata, reduced to conidiogenous cells, mixed with paraphyses and embedded in a mucilage matrix. Paraphyses 24.5–66 μm long × 1.5–2.5 μm wide (x = 39.5 × 2 μm; n = 20), hyaline, unbranched, narrowly cylindrical to filiform, 1-septate, smooth-walled. Conidiogenous cells 3–4.5 × 2–3.5 μm (x = 4 × 2.6 μm; n = 20), enteroblastic, phialidic, subcylindrical, hyaline, straight, smoothwalled. Conidia 12–17 × 2.5–4 μm (x = 14.5 × 3.5 μm; n = 30), subcylindrical to naviculate, hyaline, rounded at apex, slightly truncated at the base, aseptate, 1–4-guttulate, smooth-walled, bearing 3–4 unbranched, filiform, attenuated, flexuous apical appendages (11–16 μm long). Mean conidial length/width (L/W) ratio = 4.5 (n = 30). Culture characteristics: Conidia germinated on PDA in 24 hours. Germ tube produced from two-end of the conidia, without sporulation. Colonies on PDA, reaching 30 mm diam. after seven days at 25 °C, rough, dry, opaque, felty, flat, initially white, gradually becoming light pink in the middle and white at the margin, with regular margin and reverse white. Notes: Pseudorobillarda sichuanensis fits well with the generic concept of Pseudorobillarda by its pycnidial conidiomata, paraphyses, phialidic conidiogenous cells, and subcylindrical conidia with appendages at one end. However, it differs from other species in having subcylindrical to fusiform, aseptate, guttulate conidia with 3–4 apical appendages. A detailed morphological comparison of Pseudorobillarda species is provided in TABLE 2. Pseudorobillarda sichuanensis (sp. nov.) resembles to P. aquatica, P. bolusanthi, P. camelliae-sinensis, P. eucalypti, P. siamensis, P. sojae and P. texana in having aseptate conidia. While P. eucalypti, P. siamensis and P. sojae are distinguished from P. sichuanensis by the absent of paraphyses. Pseudorobillarda aquatica has larger (25–35 μm), eguttulate conidia, while P. sichuanensis has smaller, guttulate conidia (12–17 μm). Pseudorobillarda sichuanensis resembles P. texana in having similar conidiogenous cells and conidia. However, P. sichuanensis has conidiomata with a circular, non-papillate ostiole, conidia with a rounded apex and slightly truncated base, and shorter apical appendages. While P. texana has conidiomata with oval, beaked ostiole and conidia with both ends rounded (Plaingam et al. 2005). In addition, the Mean conidial L/W ratio of P. sichuanensis (4.6) is significantly less than P. texana (5.5). The multi-gene (LSU-SSU-ITS- rpb2) phylogenetic analysis suggested that Pseudorobillarda sichuanensis clustered together with P. texana and formed a distinct lineage. We study the interaction of meson-baryon coupled channels carrying quantum numbers of $\Omega_{cc}$ , $\Omega_{bb}$ and $\Omega_{bc}$ presently under investigation by the LHCb collaboration. The interaction is obtained from an extension of the local hidden gauge approach to the heavy quark sector that has proved to provide accurate results compared to experiment in the case of $\Omega_{c}$ , $\Xi_{c}$ states and pentaquarks, $P_c$ and $P_{cs}$. We obtain many bound states, with small decay widths within the space of the chosen coupled channels. The spin-parity of the states are $J^P={\frac{1}{2}}^-$ for coupled channels of pseudoscalar-baryon (${\frac{1}{2}}^+$), $J^P={\frac{3}{2}}^-$ for the case of pseudoscalar-baryon (${\frac{3}{2}}^+$), $J^P={\frac{1}{2}}^-,{\frac{3}{2}}^-$ for the case of vector-baryon (${\frac{1}{2}}^+$) and $J^P={\frac{1}{2}}^-,{\frac{3}{2}}^-,{\frac{5}{2}}^-$ for the vector-baryon (${\frac{3}{2}}^+$) channels. We look for poles of the states and evaluate the couplings to the different channels. Objective:Acanthopanax senticosus (Rupr. et Maxim.) Harms (ASH) is a traditional herbal medicine widely known for its antifatigue and antistress effects, as well as tonifying qi, invigorating spleen and kidney, and tranquilizing the mind. Recent evidence suggests that ASH has a therapeutic effect on major depressive disorder (MDD), but its mechanism is still unclear. The current study aimed to investigate the effect of ASH on MDD and potential therapeutic mechanisms.Materials and Methods: The chemical compound potential target network was predicted based on network pharmacology. Simultaneously, chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) model mice were orally administrated ASH with three dosages (400, 200, and 100 mg/kg) for 6 weeks, and hepatic metabolomics based on gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) was carried out to identify differential metabolites and related metabolic pathways. Next, the integrated analysis of metabolomics and network pharmacology was applied to find the key target. Finally, molecular docking technology was employed to define the combination of the key target and the corresponding compounds.Results: A total of 13 metabolites and four related metabolic pathways were found in metabolomics analysis. From the combined analysis of network pharmacology and metabolomics, six targets (DAO, MAOA, MAOB, GAA, HK1, and PYGM) are the overlapping targets and two metabolic pathways (glycine, serine, and threonine metabolism and starch and sucrose metabolism) are the most related pathways. Finally, DAO, MAOA, MAOB, GAA, HK1, and PYGM were verified bounding well to their corresponding compounds including isofraxidin, eleutheroside B1, eleutheroside C, quercetin, kaempferol, and acacetin.Conclusion: Based on these results, it was implied that the potential mechanism of ASH on MDD was related to the regulation of metabolism of several excitatory amino acids and carbohydrates, as well as the expression of DAO, MAOA, MAOB, GAA, HK1, and PYGM.

We present an approach that allows one to obtain information on the compositeness of molecular states from combined information of the scattering length of the hadronic components, the effective range, and the binding energy. We consider explicitly the range of the interaction in the formalism and show it to be extremely important to improve on the formula of Weinberg obtained in the limit of very small binding and zero range interaction. The method allows obtaining good information also in cases where the binding is not small. We explicitly apply it to the case of the deuteron and the $$D^{*}_{s0}(2317)$$ D s 0 ∗ ( 2317 ) and $$D^{*}_{s1}(2460)$$ D s 1 ∗ ( 2460 ) states and determine simultaneously the value of the compositeness within a certain range, as well as get qualitative information on the range of the interaction.

Amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the miraculous breakthroughs of multiple effective and safe COVID-19 vaccines offer hopeful prospects. Yet, the endgame of the pandemic is not vaccines; it is vaccination. The daunting challenge of vaccinating the world offers ample investigative opportunities for management scientists who are interested in improving the efficiency and equity of vaccine supply chains. In this article, we provide a brief overview of these opportunities through three constituent parts: (1) supply, (2) demand, and (3) matching supply with demand.

On 12 May, 2008, a magnitude 7.9 earthquake struck Wenchuan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, causing substantial losses of human life and property. This paper takes ten counties and cities along the road network in the extremely severe disaster areas of the Wenchuan earthquake as research objects and extracts typical road network characteristics for 10 time points during the pre-earthquake, damage and repair processes. Then, it builds three resilience assessment indices, namely, the overall integrity, overall connectivity and effective connectivity with the complex network and resilience framework, to investigate the road network resilience. A resilience curve of the road system based on real data from the extremely severe disaster areas of the Wenchuan earthquake is obtained here for the first time, revealing the total variation characteristics and key sections of the road system in terms of resilience and proposing strategies for resilience optimization.

We perform a theoretical study of the $D_s^{+}\to \pi^{+}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\eta$ decay. We look first at the basic $D_s^{+}$ decay at the quark level from external and internal emission. Then hadronize a pair or two pairs of $q\bar{q}$ states to have mesons at the end. Posteriorly the pairs of mesons are allowed to undergo final state interaction, by means of which the $a_0(980)$, $f_0(980)$, $a_1(1260)$, and $b_1(1235)$ resonances are dynamically generated. The $G$-parity is used as a filter of the possible channels, and from those with negative $G$-parity only the ones that can lead to $\pi^{+}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\eta$ at the final state are kept. Using transition amplitudes from the chiral unitary approach that generates these resonances, and a few free parameters, we obtain a fair reproduction of the six mass distributions reported in BESIII experiment., Comment: 21 pages, 13 figures

17α-Methyltestosterone (MT), a synthetic environmental endocrine disruptor with androgenic effects, has been shown to disrupt the reproductive system and inhibit germ cell maturation in Gobiocypris rarus. To further investigate the regulation of gonadal development by MT through the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis, G. rarus were exposed to 0, 25, 50, and 100 ng/L of MT for 7, 14, and 21 days. We analyzed its biological indicators, gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), gonadotropins, reproduction-related gene expression, and brain tissue transcriptome profiles. We found a significant decrease in the gonadosomatic index (GSI) in G. rarus males exposed to MT for 21 days compared to the control group. GnRH, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH) levels, as well as the expressions of the gnrh3, gnrhr1, gnrhr3, fshβ, and cyp19a1b genes, were significantly reduced in the brains of both male and female fish when exposed to 100 ng/L MT for 14 days compared to the controls. Therefore, we further constructed four RNA-seq libraries from 100 ng/L MT-treated groups of male and female fish, obtaining 2412 and 2509 DEGs in male and female brain tissue, respectively. Three common pathways were observed to be affected in both sexes after exposure to MT, namely, nicotinate and nicotinamide metabolism, focal adhesion, and cell adhesion molecules. Furthermore, we found that MT affected the PI3K/Akt/FoxO3a signaling pathway through the upregulation of foxo3 and ccnd2, and the downregulation of pik3c3 and ccnd1. Therefore, we hypothesize that MT interferes with the levels of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH, FSH, and LH) in G. rarus brains through the PI3K/Akt/FoxO3a signaling pathway, and affects the expression of key genes in the hormone production pathway (gnrh3, gnrhr1 and cyp19a1b) to interfere with the stability of the HPG axis, thus leading to abnormal gonadal development. This study provides a multidimensional perspective on the damaging effects of MT on fish and confirms that G. rarus is a suitable model animal for aquatic toxicology.

Objective. To investigate the external application of traditional Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy of non-small-cell lung cancer. Methods. This is a prospective trial. A total of 114 patients with non-small-cell lung cancer who were hospitalized in our hospital from October 2020 to March 2022 were selected and randomly divided into the research group and the control group at the ratio of 1 : 1. The control group received chemotherapy + tropisetron 4 mg intravenous drip 30 minutes before chemotherapy./day × 3 days. The research group received chemotherapy + intravenous infusion of tropisetron 4 mg 30 minutes before chemotherapy, once a day for 3 days + external application of traditional Chinese medicine for 5 days. The therapeutic effects of the two groups of patients were compared. Results. After treatment, the serum creatinine, urea nitrogen, and endogenous creatinine in the research group were better than those in the control group (t = 15.943, 12.005, and 13.325; P = 0.001 , 0.005, and 0.005). After treatment, ALT and TBIL in the research group were superior to those in the control group (t = 11.583, 10.012, and 9.426; P = 0.001 , 0.002, and 0.001). After treatment, the physiological status, social/family status, emotional status, and family status of the research group were significantly better than those in the control group (t = 16.274, 5.379, 5.142, and 8.153; P = 0.005 , 0.000, 0.002, and 0.001). After treatment, the ECOG score and KPS score (82.46 ± 4.61) of the research group were significantly different from those of the control group (t = 11.913 and 9.357; P = 0.035 and 0.001). The effective rate (χ2 = 11.724; P = 0.000 ) of the research group was higher but the incidence of adverse reaction (χ2 = 4.294; P = 0.001 ) was lower than that of the control group. Conclusion. External application of traditional Chinese medicine can significantly reduce nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy of non-small-cell lung cancer and can improve the patient’s body and quality of life, which is worthy of clinical research and promotion.

This study aimed to explore the biological influence and mechanism of LINC01272 in GC.Materials and Methods: Using bioinformatic analyses, we investigated the expression of LINC01272 in TCGA database and predicted the biological functions and mechanism of LINC01272 in GC. Then, we detected the expression of LINC01272 in GC cell lines, GC tissues, and corresponding normal tissues using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Finally, we explored the migration and invasion ability of LINC01272 by wound-healing and Transwell assays and examined the expression of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related proteins through Western blotting.Results: We found that LINC01272 was upregulated in GC and was associated with GC staging and lymph node metastasis. The results ofwound-healing and Transwell assays revealed that the LINC01272 was closely related to GC cell migration and invasion. LINC01272 knockdown inhibited the migration and invasion ability of GC cells by reducing the expression of EMT-related proteins. Overexpression of LINC01272 had the opposite effect.Conclusion: Together, our results showed that LINC01272 promoted GC metastasis ability by regulating the expression of EMT-related proteins and could serve as a potential diagnostic biomarker for GC.Keywords: gastric cancer, long non-coding RNA, migration, invasion, LINC01272

In order to explore the specific path of the influence of job autonomy on the satisfaction of knowledge employees, the current study deduced and established a Chain Mediation Model, which was based on the Resource-Gain-Development Model and the Conservation of Resources Theory. Primary data were gathered through questionnaire surveys at several cities in China by using a professional platform named “Wenjuanxing.” The target populations were employees with a bachelor’s degree or above, who were engaged in higher knowledge content and have mastered certain professional knowledge and skills, including technical R & D personnel, management personnel, professionals (such as accountants, lawyers, and medics) and other personnel generally recognized by the academic community. In order to improve the reliability of the sample and reduce the error caused by regional differences, the questionnaires were disseminated to involve as many cities in China as possible, such as Tianjin, Beijing, Chengdu, Wuhan, and Guangzhou. SPSS24.0 and Aoms24.0 were used as multivariate data analysis tools for statistical analysis. The results showed that job autonomy can significantly improve the satisfaction of knowledge employees; however, it cannot affect the satisfaction of knowledge employees through self-efficacy. The findings of the study also revealed that job autonomy has a positive impact on both resource source domain satisfaction and resource acceptance domain satisfaction through work-family enrichment, especially the positive emotions in the resource source domain. Job autonomy improves the self-efficacy of knowledge employees, which, in turn, improves their overall satisfaction through the work-family enrichment path.

OBJECTIVE: To identify the main active components and targets of Huashi Xingyu Qingre recipe (化湿行淤清热方, HXQR) and to investigate its mechanism in the treatment of oral lichen planus (OLP). METHODS: The Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform was searched to identify the active ingredients and corresponding targets of HXQR. Disease genes were obtained from the GeneCards database, and a “drug-disease regulatory network” was constructed using Cytoscape software and PERL programming language. The STRING database was used to build a protein-protein interaction network. Gene ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) terms were analyzed using R software with a Bioconducter plugin. Finally, the results and the efficacy of HXQR in treating OLP were validated in a clinical trial that included enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) testing and observations of the post-treatment changes in clinical symptoms. RESULTS: HXQR contained 167 active components and 261 targets, with 391 disease targets. The intersection of these two categories in a Venn diagram revealed 57 drug-disease common targets. A compound-target network was constructed and revealed that the six key pharmaceutical ingredients of HXQR were quercetin, luteolin, wogonin, kaempferol, beta-carotene, and baicalein. The protein-protein interaction network mainly involved core proteins such as ALB, interleukin-6, and AKT1. Drug-disease common targets were enriched in 1628 GO terms and 117 KEGG terms, mainly involving inflammatory responses, viral infections, and tumor-related pathways. ELISA testing indicated that HXQR inhibited the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) signaling pathway by reducing the expression of interleukin-6, matrix metalloproteinase-9, and intercellular adhesion molecule-1. The clinical symptoms of the patients with OLP were significantly improved after 8 weeks of treatment with HXQR. CONCLUSION: HXQR treats OLP by regulating the TNF signaling pathway, resulting in a marked treatment effect with few adverse effects.

Background: Foamy virus, which belong to the Spumaretrovirinae subfamily of Retroviridae, bridge the gap between Orthoretrovirinae and Hepadnaviridae, and display a long co-evolution with their hosts. Like other retroviruses, FVs encode a transactivator, Tas, which governs the levels of viral transcripts initiated through binding to the conserved promoters in 5’ long terminal repeat (LTR) and a unique internal promoter (IP). Unlike the other retrovirus, HIV, foamy viruses induced significant cytopathic effects in vitro, but has no significant disease association at the infection level in vivo. The characterization of regulator Tas in the Paradox of nonpathogenicity and cytopathic effects was still unknown.Results: Foamy virus separated from different hosts could form three groups which paralleled with the worldwide distribution of hosts due to geographical isolation. Although the physicochemical properties of different Tas were mainly in line with each other, the conserved motifs analyses still suggested divergences in protein functions. The proteins identified to interact with Tas of PFV, SFVora and SFVagm displayed that the three kinds of foamy viruses regulated different signal pathways and impacted virus-host immune interaction. Interestingly, predictions of interactional factors based on protein sequence showed USP7, a kind of deubiquitinating enzyme, could binding directly to Tas which led to its ubiquitin-dependent proteasome degradation. And this results also implyed that fomay virus could hijacked cytokine USP7 to stabilize the transcriptional activator Tas by de-ubiquitylation and thereby regulate the viral life cycle.Conclusion: Our experiments help to understand the survival strategy of foamy viruses in their hosts.

We study the lattice QCD $\Lambda_c N$ phase shifts for the $^3S_1-{}^3D_1$ coupled channel using both the leading order covariant chiral effective theory and the next-to-leading order non-relativistic chiral effective field theory. We show that although it is possible to describe simultaneously the $^3S_1$ and $^3D_1$ phase shifts and the inelasticity $\eta_1$, the fitted energy range is pretty small, only up to $E_\mathrm{c.m.}=5$ MeV. Type 2 diabetes is caused by persistent high blood glucose, which is known as diabetic hyperglycemia. This hyperglycemic situation, when not controlled, can overproduce NADH and lower nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), thereby creating NADH/NAD redox imbalance and leading to cellular pseudohypoxia. In this review, we discussed two major enzymatic systems that are activated by diabetic hyperglycemia and are involved in creation of this pseudohypoxic condition. One system is aldose reductase in the polyol pathway, and the other is poly (ADP ribose) polymerase. While aldose reductase drives overproduction of NADH, PARP could in contrast deplete NAD. Therefore, activation of the two pathways underlies the major mechanisms of NADH/NAD redox imbalance and diabetic pseudohypoxia. Consequently, reductive stress occurs, followed by oxidative stress and eventual cell death and tissue dysfunction. Additionally, fructose formed in the polyol pathway can also cause metabolic syndrome such as hypertension and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Moreover, pseudohypoxia can also lower sirtuin protein contents and induce protein acetylation which can impair protein function. Finally, we discussed the possibility of using nicotinamide riboside, an NAD precursor, as a promising therapeutic agent for restoring NADH/NAD redox balance and for preventing the occurrence of diabetic pseudohypoxia.
