The social marketing technique “positive cueing” has been suggested to help increase pro-environmental behavior by changing perceptions of the self to which consumers want to align their behavior. However, positive cueing may also draw attention to the pro-environmental nature of previous decisions that people typically do not interpret as such. Therefore, we argue that positive cueing effects occur by making people aware that many (common) choices in everyday life are related to environmental friendliness, without leading to changes in self-perception. We present empirical support that is more in line with the reasoning that positive cueing results in a shift in the perception of choices consumers encounter rather than a shift in self-perception. Still, this account cannot explain the full pattern of results since positive cueing does not only increase low identity signaling pro-environmental choices, but even decreases high identity signaling pro-environmental choices. In hindsight, we argue that the positive cueing intervention may undermine the signaling value of costly pro-environmental behavior and increase the signaling value of cheap pro-environmental behavior. We discuss the implications for the use of positive cueing as a social marketing technique.

Due to environmental concerns, some of the conventional halogenated flame retardants have been banned. In this context, both the industrial and academics have made efforts to develop more eco-friendly and sustainable flame retardant materials. Among new flame retardants, bio-based groups have attracted plenty of attention. In this review, varied types of bio-based flame retardants are systematically described, including the structural characteristics, flame retardant behaviors, and an overview of flame retardant mechanism. Recent research progress on various bio-based materials such as flame retardants (e.g., chitosan, lignin, phytic acid, polydopamine, Tannic acid, β-cyclodextrin, etc.) applied to different polymers are adequately summarized. Contents tourism is travel behaviour induced by works of popular culture such as manga, anime, dramas, films, and computer games. It has gained considerable attention (along with its siblings film-induced tourism, media tourism etc.) both at the levels of scholarly research and tourism policy particularly since around 2005. However, the increasing awareness among policymakers and contents producers regarding the potential of entertainment works to induce tourism causes a conundrum. Is it possible to generate genuine fandoms around works of popular culture if they smell of tourism PR, and do fans enjoy visiting sites that smell of contents tourism commercialism? In this sense, the explosion in contents tourism promotion and research might have precipitated the demise of the very phenomenon it promotes/ researches. In other words, the golden age of contents tourism - understood to be, in a purist sense, travel by fans wanting to connect more with the works they love - could be over as contents tourism gets increasingly planned and commercialized from the contents production stage. But, in the past two years the Covid-19 pandemic and deepening climate crisis have reset our thinking on travel. With people likely to be more restricted in their geographical mobility from now on, does contents tourism have a bright new future as a means of us enjoying more our immediate localities by connecting with local stories and local places? In this sense, is contents tourism on the cusp of a new golden age as a way of enhancing our enjoyment of socially-distanced and carbon-light travel to nearby destinations in the coming years? These questions are considered against the backdrop of the unfolding war in Ukraine and its implications for both the environment and tourism.

With the aviation industry facing increasing environmental and energy challenges, there has been a growing demand for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Previous studies have shown the role of ice accretion, release and blockage in aviation-related incidents and accidents with conventional jet fuel. However, there is no available data that establishes the magnitude of influence new fuel compositions will pose on ice formation and accretion in aircraft fuel systems. A recirculating fuel test rig capable of cooling fuel from ambient to −30°C within 4h was built by Airbus to simulate conditions in an aircraft wing tank and allow characterisation of ice accretion. The key characteristic was the pressure drop across an inline fuel strainer for the different SAF explored but visual analysis of ice accretion on the strainer mesh (filters used in protecting fuel feed pumps) was also performed for individual experimental runs for comparison. Measurements revealed that 100% conventional fuel exhibited a higher propensity to strainer blockage compared to the SAF tested. However, all SAF blends behaved differently as the blending ratio with Jet A-1 fuel had an impact on the pressure differential at different temperatures. Data from this work are essential to establish confidence in the safe operation of future aircraft fuel systems that will potentially be compatible with 100 % SAF. Purpose Even though sustainable entrepreneurship has increasingly received researchers’ attention in recent years, the topic remains rather under-researched in natural resources’ rich Gulf countries such as Oman. Hence, this paper aims to fill this gap in the literature and, to the best of the authors’ knowledge, is one of the first attempts to assess the state of sustainable entrepreneurship development in Oman from a multi-stakeholder perspective. Design/methodology/approach This paper uses a qualitative research approach where in-depth semi-structured interviews were undertaken with 12 respondents representing relevant stakeholders of sustainable entrepreneurship development in Oman. The interviewees included four sustainable entrepreneurs, four policymakers and four educationists representing entrepreneurial skills development institutes in Oman. Findings This papers’ findings highlight that despite some positive improvements, several critical challenges remain, which hinder sustainable entrepreneurship development. The authors further found the role of FinTech to be critical in this concern by all stakeholders, though its usage and acceptance remain low. Also, the costs associated with the post-carbon (sustainable) economy and different profitability evolution have resulted in a slow change in the policy development in this concern. From an educational (skills development) perspective, a lack of context-specific training programmes and culture-based hesitations appeared to be hindering achieving sustainable entrepreneurship possibilities in Oman. The nascent entrepreneurial ecosystem, bureaucracy and lack of human capital (attraction as well as retention) appeared to be significant challenges for entrepreneurs. Finally, the findings highlighted the need for cross-sector collaboration with clear benchmarks for effective policy development concerning sustainable entrepreneurship in Oman. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this paper is the first academic study explicitly highlighting the state of sustainable entrepreneurship in Oman by incorporating the development initiatives as well as the major challenges in the analysis. Secondly, this study is also a pioneering work specifying the interlinkage between financing (FinTech), policy initiatives and skills development and the development of a sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystem in an under-researched context of Oman. Finally, the transition to a sustainable economy is challenging in natural resources’ dependent economies like Oman, as it needs to be supported by the mindset change in the larger society (legitimacy). In this concern, this paper, to the best of the authors’ knowledge, is one of the first academic endeavours to also specify the role of legitimacy from the perspective of different stakeholders (and larger society) for sustainable entrepreneurship development in such contexts.

The cracking of hydrocarbons is a highly energy-intensive process with large CO2 emissions. Industrial steam crackers use gas-fired furnaces, which produce a global CO2 emission of about 366 Mt/year. Modern crackers have been improved through the years to increase performance and reduce greenhouse emissions. However, the improvements are limited, and the required future CO2 emission reductions cannot be achieved with the present designs. Electrification is a promising option to make cracking processes more sustainable, especially if renewable electricity is used. Electric heating will result in energy savings as flue gas losses are avoided, while CO2 emissions will be reduced radically if renewable electricity is used. This paper evaluates the current state of electric cracking and identifies potential electric heating technologies for the electrification of cracking processes. Various electric heating technologies are reviewed, an extensive literature search is conducted on their application in cracking processes, and industrial applications of electric cracking are compiled. The study shows that resistance (Ohmic) heating is a promising electric heating technology for steam cracking of naphtha. The technology is relatively easy to scale up and can be used to retrofit existing crackers. The cost of electric cracking is expected to be higher than conventional cracking, mainly due to the current electricity price being higher than the gas price. However, the cost of naphtha represents about 80% of the ethylene production cost, so possible selectivity improvements could reduce the overall cost through lower feedstock consumption. The electrification of the cracking processes can be stimulated by guaranteeing sufficient availability of renewable electricity and by introducing a CO2 tax.

The extraction of iron ore has a fundamental role in the Brazilian economy. However, such activity generates considerable volumes of waste whose disposal, even if regulated and licensed, has a significant environmental impact. The worldwide concern for sustainable practices along with the urgency for measures to mitigate environmental damage, justifies research on its use in other activities. Therefore, the present study aims to analyze the test results of laboratory versus field of mixtures composed of mining waste. The field studies were made on the execution of an experimental section on the BR 040 highway, in Minas Gerais - Brazil. According to the validation of the laboratory results, the mixtures composed of 35% Tailings + 15% Waste Rock + 50% Canga of Ore and 35% Tailings + 20% Gravel 1 + 45% Gravel 0 were used in the base and sub-base layers of the experimental section, respectively. The field technological control showed that the mixtures had an anomalous behavior from the one observed in the laboratory, mainly regarding strength and deformability.

Abstract Electrochemical conversion batteries (ECBs), especially fuel cells and lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), are the focus of attention of the scientific community due to their potential contribution to the decarbonization of the economy. In this context, the objective is to analyze patent publication flows on LIBs in Latin America (LATAM) by proposing a technology adoption matrix, a Patents friendly to sustainable technologies (PFST) indicator, and the use of technology s-curves. Data collection and analysis were carried out using the PatSeer knowledge base, Gephi, VantagePoint, and Loglet Lab software. The results show the leadership of Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina, with high dependence on the United States, Japan, and Germany. The PFST indicates that 79.3% of the published patents address climate change mitigation. In general, there is a low rate of publication of ECB patents in LATAM, marked by a technological lag in the evolution of key technologies. Patents on fuel cells are more published than those related to LIB. Under this scenario, it is unlikely that LATAM will achieve the necessary competitiveness to produce complex technologies in this field. In this regard, it follows that to reverse the position of traditional exporters of low value-added commodities, these countries should formulate strategies that allow the development of the innovation ecosystem, promoting open and applied innovation mechanisms, subsidized adoption, greater integration of universities and, at the same time, strengthening technological integration with countries that currently lead the transfer and others with great potential such as China and South Korea. Globally, poor access to improved water and sanitation remains a major contributing factor to high morbidity and mortality rates among the populace. Thus, access to water supply and sanitation is essential for sustainable development. In this study, a cross sectional descriptive survey method was adopted. Data were collected via questionnaires and observational checklist which were designed to extract information on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). The data were then, analysed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS Version 26.0). Four hundred and twenty (420) semi-structured questionnaires were administered to households in Ekosodin Community. Three hundred and ninety seven (397) copies were retrieved and thus analysed. Results indicated that 374 (94.2%) households reported having access to water and that borehole was their main source of water supply. Over 130 (32.7%) household reported not treating their water before use. Types of toilet facilities frequently use by households were water closet system (flush toilet) 243 (61.2%) and pit latrine 85 (21.4%). However, households practice open defecation at low levels 6 (1.5%). Solid waste disposal methods mainly adopted by households are: open dumpsite 224 (56.4%) and burning 150 (37.8%). Majority of the households cleaned their water storage containers every six months or annually. Results further revealed that most of the respondents 382 (96.2%) practice hand washing after toilet 82 (20.65%), before cooking 79 (19.89%), before eating 55 (13.85%) and every other time 94 (23.6%) excluding the aforementioned, after cooking, after eating and after handling children’s faeces. It was observed that 243 (57.9%) houses have no drainage system, 237 (56.4%) have no waste storage facility, 312 (74.3%) have refuse dumpsite and 354 (84.3%) did not have odour of excreta in the surrounding. It was deduced from this study that households have poor access to adequate WASH facilities/services. Hence, it is recommended that water supply infrastructures, sanitation infrastructures and promotion of hygiene should be enhanced in order to improve access to adequate WASH facilities/services in the community.

Covering an area of 334 787 ha, Malang Regency is quite well-known for its coastal ecotourism potential, with various enjoyable tourist attractions and tempting marine-based gastronomy tourism. However, it has not been well-developed and promoted sustainably by the government or the locals. Thus, the research aims to find out the improvement areas to construct a strategy to develop marine-based gastronomy ecotourism that practices pro-nature and cultural behavior. Qualitative methods (in-depth interviews with experts, experienced sources, and literature reviews), food chain analysis, and SWOT analysis were applied in this research. The study shows that the best strategy to develop marine-based gastronomy ecotourism requires penta-helix collaboration with W-O strategic combinations by improving tourism infrastructure, promoting cultural and local-wisdom aspects behind the local seafood, and implementing the added value to fight off overfishing conditions due to the high demand for seafood.

Being able to store nutrients and serve as the habitat for a variety of marine creatures, sediment is an essential component of the community that makes up the marine environment. Knowing the benefits of different forms of sediment, whether they come from freshwater or saltwater, would enable numerous companies that are directly tied to the marine environment to find their way more easily. The spatial variation of sediment quality should be mapped as baseline information due to their significance. Our new technology aims to create maps of sediment. Our product is called Sediment Map. Since there is currently less sediment map being developed, particularly in Malaysia's northern region, our product benefits even more. In terms of community advantages, Sediment Map will support a wide range of clients, including municipal, governmental, and non-governmental organisations. Overall, the Sediment Map is consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations SDG 14: "Life below water," SDG 2: "Zero hunger," SDG 3: "Good health and well-being," and SDG 13: "Climate action”.

Travel essentials are the most important things to bring when travelling. When we talk about packing travel essentials, all we need is a bag. It can be a backpack, handbag, duffel bags, laptop bags and more. Most of the bags can be a bag of burden as we need to hand carry it or carry it on our back. Hence, an E-ride exist. The primary objective of E-ride is to help elderly and disabled people to travel freely. The E-ride is made of sustainable materials. The frame and handlebars are made of aluminum alloys while the tires are made of bio-based rubber. E-ride is disabled friendly, lightweight, waterproof, and weatherproof. The E-ride had commercialization potential because it is affordable and suitable for people of all ages. Our product meets the requirement of Sustainable Development Goal No. 9, which focuses on the good health and wellbeing of the user.

Corn waste is now an alarming environmental issue. Every year, an estimated 300,000 metric tons of corn waste was produced in Malaysia. Most of the waste is either landfilled or burned which releases methane, a potent greenhouse gas. Corncobs and husk as organic planting medium are a potential solution to this issue. It is abundant, easily obtained and offers multiple benefits as planting media. They are light, porous, absorbent and aid in soil structure as well as holding nutrients that are good for plants. It helps to minimize the amount of waste and improve soil quality and crop yields. Furthermore, using corn waste might be a cost-effective strategy to boost crop yields and have great economic potential as planting media. The organic planting industry is growing and there is rising demand for sustainable and cost-effective alternatives for plant media. To satisfy the need, corn waste is a potential choice. Our product is made of corn, and it went through a few processes to become a soil media such as grinding and drying process. With the addition of biochar, we also provided steps of making it such as baking process until it forms into carbon rich charcoal. To compare our product with coco peat, we raise an argument on the amount of carbon dioxide that was produced and preserving environment quality.

Due to their significance, their distribution in our aquatic environment should be mapped as baseline information. Our new technology aims to create maps of plankton. Our innovative product is called Plankton Map. Our product benefits even more since there is currently no plankton map development, particularly in Malaysia's northern region. In terms of community advantages, Plankton Map will support a wide range of clients, including municipal, governmental, and non-governmental organisations. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern businesses has become a crucial factor for organizations to remain competitive in today's market. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the business world, and customer satisfaction is one of the key areas where AI has the potential to make a significant impact. This manuscript aims to explore the application of AI in modern business with a focus on sustainable customer satisfaction. The manuscript provides an overview of AI technologies, discusses how AI can be used to improve customer satisfaction, and presents real-world examples of companies that have successfully implemented AI to achieve sustainable customer satisfaction. The methodology consists of an extensive literature review of previous studies and real-world examples of companies that have effectively implemented AI in their operations. Primary and secondary date has been used in this study. The results of this survey indicate that respondents believe AI to have a beneficial effect on customer satisfaction as it relates to business processes. The wide range of replies is indicated by the significant standard deviation in several categories.In light of this, it is crucial for companies to evaluate their clientele in depth and develop AI strategies that are tailored to their specific clientele's wants and demands. The research also includes suggestions on how businesses might put artificial intelligence to work to ensure sustainable customer satisfaction. Both Microsoft Excel and SPSS (Version 25) have been used to analyze the data.

In the era of disruption, to achieve both food sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Indonesia must face changes in the values, attitudes, and behavior of the community, and adapt to environmental and technological changes. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence social transformation in peri-urban communities, and their impact on food sustainability and the achievement of SDGs. The research method is a qualitative approach, triangulated by conducting in-depth interviews, field observations, and focus group discussions (FGD) in two districts, the Majalengka and Karawang Regency, West Java Province. The results showed that factors influencing social transformation in peri-urban communities include strengthening public awareness of the importance of food sustainability, access to information and technology, collaborative synergy of government, companies, academics, and community participation in decision-making on empowerment programs. This social transformation leads to increased food production and poverty reduction. Private facilitators through CSR programs play a role in achieving both food sustainability and several SDG indicators related to poverty. The occurrence of collaborative synergy between community participation, extension workers, village government, media utilization, academics, and companies contributes significantly to transforming the values, attitudes, and behavior of people managing community resources.

Sustainability is a key factor in the development of new materials for plant pots, given the significant environmental impact of traditional plastic-based pots. Researchers have paid attention to developing biodegradable and sustainable alternatives to petroleum-based pots. In this study, two novel bioplastic formulations are developed, which incorporated soy-based by-product fractions to produce plant pots with self-fertilizing capability while also being cost-competitive. A 3D-printing process, fused filament fabrication, is used to produce plant containers from the filaments of soy-based new materials. Further, a small-scale greenhouse experiment is conducted to compare the performance of the soy-based 3D-printed bioplastic pots with pure polylactic acid (PLA) 3D-printed pots and traditional plastic pots, by growing a fruit-bearing plant (tomato) and a flowering plant (zinnia). Plant growth properties and root circling are analyzed, and the results show that the soy-based pots performed comparably to traditional plastic pots, especially in dry conditions, and also reduced root circling. While a more in-depth analysis is necessary, these initial findings suggest that using soy-based fractions and 3D-printing technology could provide a sustainable approach to developing plant pots, which could reduce the environmental impact of plastic-based containers and improve plant health.

Modular house technology is one of the creative innovations in developing work methods for building houses to achieve time and cost efficiency. Modular home manufacturing technology is a non-conventional construction process that involves modern technology and is carried out centrally and integrated in a workshop. The application of modular houses in the construction of residential houses has been carried out in various countries (Adinda, 2014) therefore, a modular house was designed with the main objective as a temporary residence for victims of natural disasters. In this study using a qualitative descriptive method, which is a research method that utilizes qualitative data or utilizes existing data and theories and is described descriptively. This modular house is designed with several advantages such as fast construction, easy delivery in terms of transportation, can be used continuously, economical, and can be built with only one person. The result of this study made a modular house using woven bamboo materials and resinous fabrics. By using a modular house folding system when construction does not require many people in construction and can be built quickly when a disaster occurs. Researchers hope that modular home innovation and the use of materials can continue to grow and can help every human need. Keywords: efficiency, concise, sustainable, portable, economical. Teknologi pabrikasi rumah modular merupakan proses konstruksi non-konvensional yang melibatkan teknologi modern dan dilakukan secara terpusat dan terintegerasi dalam sebuah wokshop. Penerapan rumah modular pada pembangunan rumah tinggal sudah telah dilakukan di berbagai negara (Adinda, 2014 : 15) oleh karena itu, dilakukan perancangan rumah modular dengan tujuan utama sebagai tempat tinggal sementara bagi para korban bencana alam. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu sebuah metode penelitian yang memanfaatkan data kualitatif atau memanfaatkan data dan teori yang ada dan dijabarkan secara deskriptif. Rumah modular ini didesain dengan beberapa kelebihan seperti cepat dalam pembangunannya, mudah dikirim dalam hal transportasi, dapat digunakan secara terus-menerus, ekonomis, dan dapat dibangun hanya dengan satu orang. Hasil penelitian ini dibuat sebuah rumah modular dengan menggunakan material anyaman bambu dan kain yang diresin. Dengan menggunakan sistem lipat rumah modular saat pembangunannya tidak membutuhkan banyak orang dalam pembangunannya dan dapat dibangun dengan cepat saat terjadi sebuah bencana. In today's death industry, many standard burial practices inhibit decomposition and ensure that land used for cemeteries has little ability for adaptation or improved ecological health of the site. Western culture has increasingly disconnected itself from death, often ignoring the inevitable until it is too late and making grief and mourning an isolating endeavor. This thesis seeks to address issues of climate and social resilience in death spaces, as well as creating an architecture that relieves the fear and disconnection to death and the mourning process prevalent in our society. The site is the former coal storage field of the Alexandria Power Generation Station in North Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia. The power plant was shut down in 2012, and has sat unoccupied, in part because pollution from the power plant has depleted soil nutrients and created a brownfield site. In this project, practices like Natural Organic Reduction (NOR), natural burial, and grave renewal are used to develop an adaptive site condition that embraces change and quite literally continues to build upon itself over time. Using the composted material from NOR on site will help restore the ecological health of the site by diluting the contaminated soil and create a method of phased layering to prevent overcrowding or filling up of burial plots. The architecture is designed to celebrate the natural processes of death, and to embrace the mourning process for those still living. As the visitor enters the building, they leave the "land of the living" and descend into the ground. As they travel through the building, natural light is gradually reintroduced to the interior spaces, and the visitor literally and metaphorically rises back out of the ground, as a symbol of healing and relief from their grief. Ceremonial spaces provide extensive views out over the site to connect both with the beautiful scenery of the Potomac River and the burial grounds surrounding the building, demonstrating a body's natural return to the earth after death. Sustainable ecotourism has become a strategy to balance tourism growth with environmental and sociocultural considerations. This study aims to propose an integrated approach of the Delphi technique and the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) based on fuzzy set theory to investigate sustainable ecotourism indicators in Belize. The study covers six dimensions: environmental, social, cultural, economic, political, and intrinsic. Firstly, the Fuzzy Delphi technique constructs a comprehensive set of indicators with expert consensus, resulting in 51 relevant and representative indicators out of the initial 63. Secondly, the Fuzzy DEMATEL approach is then applied to analyze the interdependencies among indicators and identify their causal relationships, providing insights into the complex dynamics of sustainable ecotourism in Belize. The results provide a structured decision-making framework to prioritize actions, allocate resources effectively, and promote sustainable practices in the ecotourism sector. Therefore, these findings enhance the understanding of indicator interconnections across dimensions, enabling informed decision making for policymakers, industry practitioners, and researchers. Policymakers can develop policies and regulations that foster sustainable practices, while industry practitioners can enhance visitor experiences, engage with local communities, and ensure the industry’s long-term viability. Researchers can further investigate specific dimensions and indicators to advance the knowledge and implementation of sustainable ecotourism. Finally, this investigation supports the goal of achieving a harmonious and sustainable balance between tourism development and environmental preservation in Belize. By safeguarding the natural and cultural heritage of the region, sustainable ecotourism can benefit present and future generations.

Livestock producers mostly desires cheaper feed ingredients that are readily available for the better parts of tropical season and have no competition with man’s dietary demands. Wild sunflower, a weed found growing uncultivated on abandoned/waste lands may be employed as livestock feeding resource, hence the need to embark on this study. According to the literature, it was observed that sunflower contains relatively high nutrient concentration which makes it a potential source and supplement of satisfactory quality protein for livestock feed formulation. Percentages vary from 17.20-20.07, 11.00-19.00, 4.00-38.00, 3.36-16.70 and 26.00-50.05 for CP, CF, EE, Ash and NFE respectively. It was also crystal clear that wild sunflower may be included in livestock feeding up to 10% without having any deleterious effect on nutrient digestibility, carcass and blood parameters. When processed, higher inclusion level may be employed up to 30%. Large amounts of water, synthetic dyestuffs and chemicals are used in the wet processes of textile finishing, and at the end of these processes, liquors containing chemical substances create a waste load. For this reason, it is of great importance to develop new wet-finishing processes that use less water, dyestuffs and chemicals. For this purpose, the layer-by-layer deposition method (LbL) was used in this research as an environmentally friendly, sustainable method that can be used in wet-finishing processes to minimize chemical, water and energy consumption. The dyeing and functional finishing of cotton fabrics were carried out in one process by the LbL method. Cotton fabrics were pre-treated with a commercial cationic dye fixation agent and cationic charges were produced on the fabric surfaces. Reactive and direct dyestuff groups were used in the dyeing process of cotton fabrics and fluorocarbon was used in the functional finishing process. Eight and 12 dye/fluorocarbon layered structures were obtained by LbL deposition using a laboratory-type padder. Cotton fabrics were dyed and finished with the same dyes and fluorocarbon via the padding method and both samples were compared. The washing, rubbing and light color fastness properties, color strength and color difference of the dyed samples were tested. Tensile strength, air permeability, SEM graphs, contact angle, water and oil repellency analyses were performed for the treated fabrics.

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the equilibrium between demand and supply of halal tourism products in Lombok, Indonesia. This study utilized 34 halal tourism parameters from the Global Muslim Travel Index (2019). Theoretical framework: This study uses two types of analyses: quadrant analysis and gap analysis. The quadrant analysis aims to determine tourists' response to different attributes, which are categorized based on the level of satisfaction and performance. Design/methodology/approach: This research is a descriptive study conducted to analyze the priorities of the development of halal tourism in Lombok Island. The data used in this study are primary data obtained through a survey of 200 tourists in Lombok, selected using simple random sampling technique. Findings: The results showed that there is an imbalance in the equilibrium of the halal tourism market, where the demand for some halal tourism indicators is higher than the existing supply. Thus, there is a need to improve some halal facilities to meet the demand. Research, Practical & Social implications: This study adapted the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) to explain the equilibrium of halal tourism demand and supply in the halal tourism industry in Lombok, Indonesia. Originality/value: the study's analysis indicated the need for tourism businesses and related stakeholders in Lombok to focus on improving and offering halal tourism indicators that are important to tourists, such as worship amenities, gender separation in public facilities, and the availability of halal cuisine.

This study presents a bibliometric analysis of sustainable tourism management using the VOSviewer tool. It aims to fill the bibliometric gap in the growing body of research on sustainable tourism management and, consequently, contribute to recent scholarly interest in this subject. Therefore, its main objective is to present a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the research published on sustainable tourism management from 1996 to April 2023, which enables its scientific production. To this end, we used a total of 317 publications with 7475 cited references from Web of Science. In addition, we performed three bibliometric analyses (co-authorship, co-citation and co-occurrence of keywords). The results show the current trends in sustainable tourism management and also provide a theoretical basis regarding this subject, which is of growing importance in the tourism sector. Our study’s conclusions suggest that the priorities of sustainable tourism management are shifting from competitiveness to sustainability, in accordance with new consumer demands and the 2030 Agenda. In conclusion, a broader framework of sustainable tourism management is required.

Este barrio ha sido uno de los principales afectados en Bucaramanga; la cual, ha venido presentado una fuerte problemática a nivel de espacio público, como consecuencia del acelerado crecimiento demográfico y urbano que ha tenido en las últimas décadas; siendo el sector anteriormente mencionado el que se lleva a análisis por tener una concentración más notoria del problema y a su vez por ser una zona comercial muy importante para Bucaramanga que amerita una propuesta para su mejora. Para dar solución a esto se realiza un análisis de las determinantes urbanas del sector para comprender las diversas dinámicas sociales del entorno y se da una caracterización al usuario potencial a través de una investigación y análisis del sitio que permita obtener un objeto arquitectónico que realmente cumpla las necesidades del sector y de los habitantes en él. Como resultado se obtiene un objeto arquitectónico de uso mixto que articula las actividades mayormente predominantes en el sitio y a su vez acoge el concepto de arquitectura vertical para generar zonas de esparcimiento para los habitantes que permitan su desarrollo cultural y social de manera mas efectiva y plena. With this degree work, the design of a mixed-use building for the San Francisco neighborhood in the city of Bucaramanga is proposed, which solves some notorious problems of order and scarcity of public space. This neighborhood has been one of the main affected in Bucaramanga; which, has been presenting a strong problem at the level of public space, as a consequence of the accelerated demographic and urban growth that it has had in recent decades; The aforementioned sector being the one that is being analyzed for having a more notorious concentration of the problem and in turn for being a very important commercial area for Bucaramanga that deserves a proposal for its improvement. To solve this, an analysis of the urban determinants of the sector is carried out to understand the various social dynamics of the environment and a characterization is given to the potential user through an investigation and analysis of the site that allows obtaining an architectural object that really meets the needs of the sector and of the inhabitants in it. As a result, a mixed-use architectural object is obtained that articulates the predominant activities on the site and, in turn, embraces the concept of vertical architecture to generate recreation areas for the inhabitants that allow their cultural and social development in a more effective and full way. The turning process involves the linear removal of material from the work-piece and requires a relatively high amount of energy. The high energy consumption of the machining process increases carbon emissions, which affects the environment. Moreover, production costs will rise as the cost of energy rises. Energy savings during the machining process are crucial for achieving sustainable manufacturing. In order to determine and optimize the cutting parameters, this study creates a multi-pass turning processes optimi¬zation model. It considers cutting speeds, feed rates, and depth of cut. In this study, the model uses multi-objective optimization by incorporating three objective functions: processing time, energy consumption and product¬ion costs. OptQuest completed the proposed model in Oracle Crystal Ball software, then normalized and weighted the sum. Ordering preferences, the Multi-Objective Optimization based on Ratio Analysis (MOORA) approach is utilized. It ranks items based on their higher priority values. This paper provides a numerical example to demonstrate the application of an optimi¬zation model. Based on the preference order ranking results, the optimal values for three objective functions are as follows: total processing time of 4.953 min, the total energy consumption of 5.434 MJ, and total production cost of 395.21$.

This research aimed to explore any links between mental toughness and courage in sports among students enrolled in the faculty of sports science, employing a relational screening model with a sample consisting of 340 university students who were selected using a convenience sampling method. Research data were collected through a Personal Information Form, the Sports Mental Toughness Questionnaire (SMTQ), and the Sport Courage Scale (SCS). Data analyses included independent groups T-test, One-Way ANOVA, and Pearson’s product-moment correlation coefficient. Significant differences were detected in the SMTQ and SCS, as well as in the total scale scores, based on the gender variable, which is one of the demographic variables. SMTQ and SCS subdimensions and total scale scores differed significantly according to the university department. Furthermore, the study identified significant differences in the SMTQ and the SCS subdimensions and total scale scores based on the academic year variable. However, no significant relationship was found between age and SMTQ and SCS subdimensions and total scale scores. The findings of this study indicate a significant and positive correlation between the SMTQ and SCS subdimensions and the total scale scores. Therefore, it can be concluded that as the mental toughness levels of the students in sports science increase, their courage levels also increase.

Due to climate change and increased urbanisation, the current level of freshwater withdrawals and corresponding water usage in Uganda has increased, affecting the availability of these resources and becoming a concern. Education can play a crucial role in providing support to and training students on sustainable water use, both at home and in relation to school activities. Therefore, it is imperative that the education system develops actions, approaches and materials to achieve this goal. The paper assesses the current state of existing Ugandan education on this subject, by identifying the water-related topics currently featured in the curriculum at different class levels, with the aid of questionnaires conducted in four schools in Uganda. Three questionnaires (one for primary school pupils, one for secondary school pupils and one for teachers) were designed for collecting targeted data, and thematic analysis was adopted to analyse the data collected. The results revealed important insights regarding students’ behaviours towards water usage at home. They also revealed that water sustainability topics are delivered in the science curriculum at the primary level, as opposed to geography at the secondary level, confirming that overall, there is a lack of integrated practical teaching incorporated within the courses currently taught in Ugandan schools.

To meet energy-saving requirements, in recent years, Saudi Arabia’s construction industry has focused on researching the use of naturally available resources as raw materials. This study looks at the behavior of Viroc, specifically using pinewood and its compression properties in eco-friendly concrete. The study demonstrates the feasibility of adding pinewood to concrete and provides a theoretical basis for the promotion of dry pinewood particles and Portland cement composite materials. The Viroc specimens used in the study are 18 mm long, 12 mm wide, and 12 mm deep. The mechanical properties of the specimens were tested and compared by using a universal testing machine (UTM) and the Ansys software program 2022. The test results show that Viroc can increase the compression strength and modulus of the construction material as well as increase its brittleness and toughness (mechanical properties). The results show that it is feasible to incorporate wood and cement, resulting in a new type of Viroc composite material in an eco-friendly environment.

Chemical fungicides are the backbone of modern agriculture, but an alternative formulation is necessary for sustainable crop production to address human health issues and soil/water environmental pollution. So, a green chemistry approach was used to form guar gum nanoemulsions (NEs) of 186.5–394.1 nm containing the chemical fungicide mancozeb and was characterized using various physio-chemical techniques. An 84.5% inhibition was shown by 1.5 mg/mL mancozeb-loaded NEs (GG-1.5) against A. alternata, comparable to commercial mancozeb (86.5 ± 0.7%). The highest mycelial inhibition was exhibited against S. lycopersici and S. sclerotiorum. In tomatoes and potatoes, NEs showed superior antifungal efficacy in pot conditions besides plant growth parameters (germination percentage, root/shoot ratio and dry biomass). About 98% of the commercial mancozeb was released in just two h, while only about 43% of mancozeb was released from nanoemulsions (0.5, 1.0 and 1.5) for the same time. The most significant results for cell viability were seen at 1.0 mg/mL concentration of treatment, where wide gaps in cell viability were observed for commercial mancozeb (21.67%) and NEs treatments (63.83–71.88%). Thus, this study may help to combat the soil and water pollution menace of harmful chemical pesticides besides protecting vegetable crops.

It not only fosters personal growth and well-being but also contributes to overall development. Rural development planning plays a significant role in empowering women in rural areas. By addressing their unique challenges and providing opportunities, it can create a transformative impact on their lives and communities. Rural women, particularly in developing countries, face numerous obstacles to their empowerment, including limited access to education, healthcare, financial resources, and decision-making processes. Additionally, gender-based discrimination and cultural norms restrict their roles and opportunities. This study presents a bibliometric analysis of sustainable tourism management using the VOSviewer tool. It aims to fill the bibliometric gap in the growing body of research on sustainable tourism management and, consequently, contribute to recent scholarly interest in this subject. Therefore, its main objective is to present a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the research published on sustainable tourism management from 1996 to April 2023, which enables its scientific production. To this end, we used a total of 317 publications with 7475 cited references from Web of Science. In addition, we performed three bibliometric analyses (co-authorship, co-citation and co-occurrence of keywords). The results show the current trends in sustainable tourism management and also provide a theoretical basis regarding this subject, which is of growing importance in the tourism sector. Our study’s conclusions suggest that the priorities of sustainable tourism management are shifting from competitiveness to sustainability, in accordance with new consumer demands and the 2030 Agenda. Ghana has a poverty reduction strategy (Ghana Poverty Reduction Strategy I, 2003-2005), and a second PRS had just completed its implementation phase in 2009. The Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy II (GPRS II) is the focus of this study. In addition, the study provides critical perspectives on realizing the potential multiplier effects of sustainable agriculture in the promotion of sustainable rural development and selectively reviews major literature on the role of agriculture in sustainable rural development. This study fills the void by providing a theoretically informed empirical investigation of the effects that the agricultural productivity sub-sector of the GPRS II has had on the capacity of smallholder farmers to establish long-term livelihoods. According to Sagoe (2006), adverse socio-economic conditions like negative terms of trade and inadequate agricultural infrastructure often interact with climate variability to undermine agricultural productivity and, by extension, farmers' livelihoods. The study took an analytic-centric approach to the GPRS II policy analysis, focusing on farming communities in the Ejisu-Juaben municipality of the Ashanti region of Ghana at the micro level. Additionally, conceptual and methodological frameworks for livelihood analysis were used to evaluate the capabilities of local smallholder farmers to build livelihood resilience in the face of the GPRS II. It was uncovered that albeit a considerable lot of the mediations in the district's activity plan appeared to adjust to the most basic exact requirements of nearby ranchers for versatile vocation improvement, the GPRS II has not properly helped the more greater part of ranchers in the region, and subsequently been delayed in its neediness decrease processes. We live suspended between the digital and the physical, in a liminal space. The pioneers of digital landscapes we navigate realms unfettered by physical constraint, where stories can construct and reconstruct themselves at will, where time is not just static but can be reversed, where truth can be rewritten and history revised. Orientation increasingly turns to an expanding mirror world, the echo of Borges fiction. A 1:1 remaking of the world where huge ships hide within the folds of fake signals, infrastructure is analysed through its digital twin, and non-existent islands rise into being, leading very real expeditions to search for them. It can begin to paint a picture of a digitized retreat into our imaginaries. With the dominant imaginary of the global north on course to decimate the conditions that both we and our fellow critters need for survival, this may feel like setting our course for a dystopian future. Yet our liminal landscapes equally hold the potential to deepen our embodiment within the physical realm, enhancing our understanding of our relationality and challenging corrosive anthropocentric perspectives. Through designing spaces we dare to imagine might we begin to construct the future we need; “a future with a future” as Tony Fry succinctly puts it? Students at Oxford Brookes University, University of Brighton, and the Bartlett School of Architecture explored this territory, teasing out opportunities and unveiling potential futures. Might we begin to see beyond our limited anthropocentric perception? Might we extend our understanding of our histories? Could we begin to draw the digital back to its hidden corporeal foundations? Within this liminal realm might we pioneer new routes towards a sustainable future in real life; IRL?

Since the Fourth Republic, physical fights and other aggressive behaviors have remained constant features of the legislature. The lawmakers have punched, kicked and injured each other; shattered glasses, upturned tables and chairs, and torn their clothes. This condemnable act directly translates to bad governance, widespread corruption, poverty, cronyism and prebendalism across the country. But then, the big question has been what factors are responsible for legislative violence and what are the impacts in the Nigerian society? Against this background, the paper examined legislative violence and its impact on sustainable development in Nigeria. Using the survey descriptive and library research method, the paper revealed that legislative violence is a symptom of imbalance of power between the executive and the legislature. It recommended that the legislature should extricate itself from the self-imposed servants of anti-democratic political merchants whose stock-in-trade is the commercialization of politics and politicization of the legislature. It concluded that the legislature should tame the savages of man and build superb institutions and establish state-of-the-art benchmarks that will serve as touchstone and springboard to economic prosperity, political stability and descent society.

This paper discusses the factors that militate against the growth and sustainability of the Nigerian Inland waterway ports from secondary data and inductive research perspective. The Nigerian nation has adequate coverage of major inland waters that are either navigable at present or potentially navigable if a waterway clearing and dredging is implemented. Generally speaking, Nigeria has enormous inland water potential that is capable of maximally reducing the pressure on other modes of transportation especially road, in the transportation of heavy equipment and bulk goods both solid and liquid. Sustainable Inland waterway ports and transportation are undoubtedly a panacea for job creation and promotion of commerce at local and riverine community levels through boat building, fabrication, and transport.

Incentive is one of the motivational approach, which has an energizing force that induces or compels and maintain performance of every worker. Thus, it will be of important if the impact of standardized and sustainable incentives is implied to every worker in construction industry. The aim of the paper is to assess the sustainable incentive on worker performances by assessing the relative significance index score for different types of incentives; and identifying the average level of impact for the three groups of incentives for workers’ performances. The targeted population of this study were contractors, architects, quantity surveyors, engineers in Enugu state. Data collection was done through a questionnaire survey self-administered on 80 randomly selected construction professionals involved in a nearly completed or recently completed construction projects. This was analyzed using descriptive statistics and analyses of variance (ANOVA). Results of the study indicate a disparity of the ranking of the degree of occurrence and impact among the group. Based on the composite of incentive factors the study established its likelihood of various occurrence of both financial and non-financial incentives. The study recommended that those with highly impacted incentives should be put in place in which it will become a means of conquering the new frontier with a solid sustenance. Finally, the study also concluded that they should implement an efficient, standardized and effective of the three groups of the incentives on workers in order to gear toward fully sustainable commitment, solid participation and loyal performances.&nbsp

Difficult times in the history of humanity, such as global pandemics, global wars, ecological degradation, drought, poverty and unemployment, require not just leadership, but sustainable leadership. Inspired by the leadership model of Nelson Mandela, this article sought to tap into the resourcefulness of the missional reading of 2 Kings 2:1-18 and use the leadership model of prophet Elijah to unpack what it means to be a sustainable leader in the context of uncertainty. Relying upon literature analysis and a missional reading of 2 Kings 2:1-18, this article concluded that sustainable leadership, taking after the model of prophet Elijah, has five distinctive features, that is, human, missional, mentorship, management of transitions, and transformation. INTRADISCIPLINARY AND/OR INTERDISCIPLINARY IMPLICATIONS: This article investigates the issue of sustainable leadership in the context of uncertainties such as global pandemics, global wars, ecological degradation, among others. It contributes to the disciplines of missiology and missional hermeneutics, biblical theology, and sustainability theories, in particular issues of Christian leadership.

The official statistics were aggregated, and the previous publications were analyzid to conduct comprehensive calculations and create a financial assumptiona about the total cost of food waste management in Ukraine. Work results. The stages of forming a total tariff for food waste processing in Ukraine are highlighted, namely: identification of waste; determination of the processing method; determining the full cost of handling them. The research revealed that household waste in Ukraine has a food waste content that varies between 25.1% and 67% of the total generated waste. The anaerobic digestion was selected as the method of choice to recycle the generated food waste in Ukraine as this is compliant with the common practice in the leading EU countries. To enhance the recycling process attractiveness, zero interest rate financing program was proposed, and government full ownership. As a result, it was found that building a financially sustainable food waste model requires its waste management tariff to be set at 353 grn/t and to implement additional ecological tariff of 601 grn/t as a reward for the CO2 emissions savings.

La presente investigación se centra en las tecnologías modernas que las empresas santandereanas han aplicado en el sector de la manufactura, su desarrollo parte desde la recolección de información de este sector para evaluar el impacto que tiene la industria 4.0 en la producción limpia y en el desempeño sostenible. My technical work and sociotechnical research are connected thematically as they both relate to strategies for developing a sustainable future and more concretely by their incorporation of gross domestic product (GDP) as a metric. In the technical portion, my group investigated the socioeconomic impacts of decarbonization policy via two models: a computable general equilibrium (CGE) and an integrated assessment model (IAM). The latter model utilizes GDP as a key driver in economic modeling. Sociotechnically, I analyzed the extent to which GDP’s use in the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is representative of the overarching goal of sustainable development given the intrinsic capabilities of the metric. Both technical and sociotechnical portions of this work involve examining sustainable policy, with the sociotechnical findings on the rise of GDP into the role it plays today providing additional context for interpreting results of economic models such as those used in my technical report. The goal of my technical topic was to create a tool for understanding the economic and technological impacts of decarbonization plans at the state level as part of a larger plan to determine how net-zero emission plans will impact regional economies and environmental quality. To do this, we first built upon an existing CGE model for China and recalibrated it to represent the United States. For both the CGE and GCAM models, we conducted experiments implementing carbon taxes at no, low, and high prices and soft linked the results of the two models focusing on the energy sector. This process and results represent significant progress toward more regional analyses of decarbonization policy which historically have lacked due to the gap of economic information at subnational levels. My sociotechnical work is more pointedly focused on GDP and uses the UN SDGs as a case study. In this research, I explore how GDP exhibits characteristics of technological momentum, a theory created by Thomas Hughes to describe the lifecycle of a technology as it gains increasing influence over the society in which it was created. I argue the use of GDP as an indicator, particularly in SGD 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth is a product of the technological momentum it has and, consequently, its use must be reevaluated to confirm it represents modern economic goals. Working on my technical and sociotechnical research simultaneously helped me understand each in a more nuanced way. Through the technical work, I grew to understand the value of using a universally recorded and standardized metric such as GDP in research. Understanding the metric as imperfect but valuable drew my sociotechnical research away from a criticism of GDP and rather toward a suggestion of how to interpret its use more thoughtfully. The contextualization of GDP in my sociotechnical research allowed me to better understand the limitations of models like those used in my technical research. Similarly, I have come to understand that an imperfect model can still be a valuable one. Overall, these two research projects complemented each other and led to valuable insights into sustainable policy, GDP, and modeling generally.

This study falls within the framework of sustainable development, and is mainly interested in the renovation of the mileage technique formerly used by our ancestors, which is the Adobe. This durable and vulnerable material is a very interesting aspect to treat. In this context, a contribution for the study of an eco-material has been proposed. This is the land use stabilsée by adding vegetable fiber and the juice of aloe vera for making adobe block as eco-material more efficient and sustainable.Several properties are studied and the results have shown the important advantage of adding aloe-vera as a stabilization technique and the addition of fiber to the physico-mechanical and the durability of the earth material (Adobe).

Background: The New Global Economy is represented by a series of major features, such as the use of green energy, the reduction of the carbon footprint in all industrial and civil fields, as well as finding alternative food resources. Our main objective was the research of a sustainable food product with a special nutritional purpose in the vision of nutrivigilance, developed in Romania, as an adjuvant in the repair of gastric mucosa. Methods: The materials used in the research and development of the new food are the following: inulin, lactoferrin, sericin, and sodium bicarbonate. The new adjuvant food product in the repair of the gastric mucosa was added to certain foods in order to prevent the patients from being satiated by a single food from a sensory point of view. The resulting food products were organoleptically and physico-chemically analyzed. Results: The new food is sustainable and has versatile uses. It can be hydrated with water, non-carbonated drinks, mixed with cottage cheese, or with fruit puree and oatmeal. It is stable under normal storage conditions and microbiologically safe. Conclusions: Through its versatile use, the new food product for special nutritional conditions represents a worldwide novelty. Through the development of forestry for the cultivation of white or black mulberry (Morus alba and Morus nigra), the raising of silkworms (Bombyx mori), the processing of fibroin to obtain natural silk and the processing of sericin resulting as a residue in the textile industry, the new food product developed actively contribute to the global economy II.

The challenge of attracting young people to the field of mineral processing as well as the ever-growing worldwide demand for minerals and metals together with lower-grade deposits and shortages of energy and water triggered the establishment of the new Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Program PROMISE. The consortium of four mining universities in Europe and Chile aims at master level education on engineering and sustainability issues in mineral processing. The first academic year of PROMISE will start in September 2022.
