Objective: To investigate the adaptability of freshmen in medical universities to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and to understand the relevant factors affecting their adaptation in medical university. Methods: Freshmen in a medical university in Guangdong Province were selected and surveyed using a self-administered general questionnaire and a college student adjustment scale prepared by Fang Xiaoyi et al. The results were analyzed statistically. Results: A total of 741 questionnaires were collected and 736 valid questionnaires were recovered. The adaptation level of freshmen in the medical university was moderately high. There were no differences in gender, age, family geographical location, or higher education level, but there were significant differences in major, type of household, only children (yes/no), and voluntary enrollment in medicine (yes/no). The survey showed that 30.3% of the students had discomfort at the beginning of the semester, 92.5% chose medical university voluntarily, and 83.4% expressed their enhanced motivation to study medicine after the COVID-19 outbreak, but 65.1% exhibited influence in study and life caused by COVID-19, which were statistically significant factors affecting the adaptation score. Conclusions: Freshmen in the medical university are generally well-adjusted with many influencing factors. Medical schools should strengthen adaptability management in order to timely identify the adaptation challenges of the students.

In this article, we study the mass spectrum of the low-lying triply heavy hybrid baryon, which consists of three valence heavy quarks in a color octet and one valence gluon, with spin-parity $J^P=(\frac{1}{2})^+$ via QCD sum rules. This is the first study on the triply heavy hybrid baryons in the framework of QCD sum rules. After performing the QCD sum rule analysis, we find that the mass of $cccg$ hybrid baryon lies in $M_{cccg}= 5.91-6.13$ GeV. As a byproduct, the mass of the triply bottom hybrid baryon state is extracted to be around $M_{bbbg}=14.62-14.82$ GeV. The contributions up to dimension eight at the leading order of $\alpha_s$ (LO) in the operator product expansion are taken into account in the calculation. The triply charmed hybrid baryon predicted in this work can decay into one doubly charmed baryon and one charmed meson. Especially, we propose to search for $cccg$ hybrid baryon with $J^{P}= (1/2)^+$ in the P-wave decay channels $\Xi_{cc}^{++} D^0$, $\Xi_{cc}^{+} D^+$, and $\Xi_{ccs}^{+} D_s^+$, which may be accessible in future BelleII, Super-B, PANDA, and LHCb experiments., Comment: 20pages, 4 figures, 2 tables

One-step direct patterning of high definition conductive tracks in textiles is realized through laser direct writing in combination with a silver organometallic ink developed in-house. Photoreduction, nano-crystallization, and sintering are accomplished in one pass under the irradiation of a CW green laser light (λ = 532 nm) at moderate intensities (I ≥ 95 mW/mm2). By tailoring the surface tension and viscosity of the ink, high-definition conductive tracks are formed in weft-knitted polyester-Spandex composite fabrics, well-following the laser’s profile with negligible coffee stain effect. Length resistance as low as 4 Ω/cm is measured and anisotropy of the gauge factor as high as 25 is achieved. The metallized fabric exhibits reversible and hysteresis-free electromechanical responses subject to high strains. Durability assessment qualifies that the as-metallized strain sensors are able to sustain their performance for over 5000 stretch/release cycles, demonstrating its potential applications in biaxial strain sensing and interactive smart textiles.

In this work, we study the $1^{--}$ double-gluon charmonium ($\bar{c}ggc$) and bottomonium ($\bar{b} gg b$) hybrids in terms of QCD sum rules. We find that the mass of $\bar{c}ggc$ hybrid lies in $M_{H_{c}}$ = $5.33 \sim 5.90$ GeV, while in the bottom sector the mass of $\bar{b}ggb$ hybrid may be situated in $M_{H_b} = 11.20 \sim 11.68$ GeV. The contributions up to dimension eight at leading order of $\alpha_s$ (LO) in the operator product expansion are taken into account in the calculation. The double-gluon charmonium hybrid meson predicted in this work can decay into a pair of charmed mesons or a pair of charmed mesons together with a light meson. Given the fact that integration of urban and rural development in the new era is based on the theory of arable land multifunctionality, we developed a multifunctional evaluation index system for arable land using panel data from 2000 to 2018. We aimed to improve the CRITIC-entropy weighted TOPSIS evaluation model used to quantitatively evaluate and analyze the multi-functional application of arable land in Guangzhou and map the changes in time and space. Our results showed that the connotation of cultivated land in highly urbanized areas continued to be enriched. Except for the traditional agricultural production, land function for the economic contribution had become more apparent as value of agricultural land gradually increased. In addition, the arable land function for social safety, ecological safety, social stability maintenance, and landscape recreation associated with the integration of urban and rural areas would become increasingly important. There were very small changes in the overall function of cultivated land in Guangzhou between 2000 and 2018, stabilizing at around 0.442. Both agricultural production and economic contribution remained weak in this area while social security showed a downward trend. Ecological safety gradually rose and stabilized at a fairly strong level while social stability presented as "general-weak-general". Landscape recreation demonstrated a slight decline and then a sharp rise over the same time period. In terms of overall structure, ecological safety, social stability and landscape recreation were the most prevalent functions for land in Guangzhou. However at the regional level, Liwan District presented with more significant use of land for economic, ecological, and landscape recreation functions while the Haizhu, Tianhe, Huangpu and Panyu districts all prioritized ecological safety. Baiyun and Zengcheng were shown to focus on agricultural production while Nansha District prioritized land for social security, ecological safety, social stability and landscape recreation. The Huadu and Conghua districts also focused on ecological safety. When we evaluated the temporal and spatial evolution of these sub-functions, we found that the spatial distribution of agricultural production remained relatively stable between 2000 and 2018. The economic contribution, social security, social stability, and landscape recreational functions demonstrated incremental change in distribution from the central portion of the old city with these areas adopting an approximately circular structure toward the periphery. Ecological security maintenance presented with a "low-low-high" distribution in these areas. In order to improve the multi-functional use of cultivated land in the future, each district should evaluate the dominant function and local needs of each area and assign land accordingly.

With rapid developments in society and economy, the concentrations of heavy metals in surface water in South China have increased significantly, which poses a serious threat to the regional water security. In this study, the Fuhe River watershed in South China was selected as the study area to analyze physicochemical characteristics and heavy metal (Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd and Cr) concentrations in river water in the dry and rainy seasons, in 2019, with the purpose of exploring their spatial–temporal variations and main influences and assessing the potential health risks of heavy metals. The pH value of river water varied from 5.82 to 7.97, and it fluctuated less overall in the dry season, but it oscillated greatly in the rainy season and was lower, especially in the lower reach of the Fuhe River. The electrical conductivity (EC) value changed between 33 μS/cm and 128 μS/cm and increased and fluctuated along the river flow in the two periods. The concentrations of Cd, Cr, Cu, Pb, and Zn in river water showed obvious differences between the two periods. The concentrations of Cd and Cu were lower with the ranges from 0.001 μg/L to 0.67 μg/L and from 1 μg/L to 12 μg/L, respectively, in the dry season than in the rainy season, while there were inverse cases for other heavy metals. Along the river flow, the Cr concentration was stable, whereas other heavy metals showed increasing trends. It was noted that the concentrations of heavy metals in the Fuhe River were, on average, lower than the Chinese drinking standard values, with the concentration of Pb in the dry season significantly higher than the drinking standard value of the World Health Organization (WHO). Principal component analysis and correlation analysis showed that rock weathering and anthropogenic inputs were the main controlling factors of Cu and Zn in the Fuhe River, and human activities were mainly responsible for Pb, Cr, and Cd concentrations. The health risk assessment results showed that the non-carcinogenic risk (HQingestion) value of Pb was greater than 1 in most sampling points in the middle and lower reaches in the dry season, suggesting a significant non-carcinogenic risk for adults and children by direct ingestion. The minimum carcinogenic risk (CRingestion) value of Cr was more than 10−4 in the rainy and dry seasons, and the CRingestion value of Cd in some sampling points was more than 10−4 in the rainy season, indicating significant cancer risks to adults and children. For areas with significant pollution and health risks in the Fuhe River watershed, it is urgent to strengthen the controls of industrial, agricultural, and urban wastewater discharge.

SOX2 is related to drug resistance in many types of cancer, including lung cancer. Herein, we investigated the role of SOX2 and its regulatory signaling in cisplatin-treated non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The effects of SOX2 on cell viability, proliferation, and apoptosis were evaluated in vitro. Western blotting, real-time quantitative PCR, immunohistochemistry, and luciferase reporter assays were used to investigate the underlying mechanism. Kaplan–Meier survival analysis and the log-rank test were used to assess the relationship between SOX2 expression and patient survival. A549/CDDP cells had marked resistance to cisplatin and stronger colony formation ability than A549 cells. The expression of SOX2 protein or mRNA in A549/CDDP was higher than that in A549. Knockdown of SOX2 in A549/CDDP-induced apoptosis by inhibiting colony formation and decreasing viability, but overexpression of SOX2 reversed these effects. Interestingly, Genomatix software predicted that the APE1 promoter has some SOX2 binding sites, while the SOX2 promoter has no APE1 binding sites. Furthermore, luciferase reporter assays proved that SOX2 could bind the promoter of APE1 in 293T cells. We further verified that SOX2 expression was not affected by shAPE1 in A549/CDDP. As expected, colony formation was obviously inhibited and apoptosis was strongly enhanced in A549/CDDP treated with SOX2 siSOX2 alone or combined with CDDP compared with control cells. Meaningfully, patients with low expression of SOX2, and even including its regulating APE1, survived longer than those with high expression of SOX2, and APE1. siSOX2 overcomes cisplatin resistance by regulating APE1 signaling, providing a new target for overcoming cisplatin resistance in NSCLC.

Reducing the energy consumption and increasing the additional value of water electrolysis to produce H2 is currently a hot research topic. In this work, we introduce two kinds of promising water electrolysis modes in a diaphragm electrolytic cell for H2 production. When considering the energy consumption, a urea-assisted amphoteric water splitting system was built. This system just needs an ultralow voltage of 0.88 V to attain the current density of 10 mA cm−2 with high durability, which leads to a large decrease of energy consumption of 48.55% compared to alkaline water splitting system by the introduction of electrochemical neutralization energy and thermodynamically-favorable urea oxidation reaction. When considering the additional value, a H2-acid-base co-electrosynthesis system was proposed inspired by the chlor-alkali and electrochemical seawater desalination processes. In this system, only K2SO4 electrolytes are needed, and acid-base chemicals and H2 could be generated at a voltage of 2.32 V (10 mA cm−2).

The near field of the probe beam after passing through the gain module is measured. The “streamer effect” is first discovered in the experiment, which is characterized as continuity in the flow direction and non-uniformity in the lateral direction with high spatial frequency. To explain the “streamer effect”, a fluid–solid coupling model and an unstable resonator oscillation model of the direct-liquid-cooled thin-disk laser are established. The simulation results show that the non-uniformity of the coolant along the width of the flow channel gives rise to the streamer effect. A feasible cooling channel to achieve a high uniformity coolant is proposed and experimentally verified. At CW pumping of 9.6 kW, the influence of coolant on the output beam quality can be controlled at β

Ubiquitin is a conserved signaling protein. It is able to interact with thousands of target proteins specifically and perform its biological functions via non-covalent interactions. Ubiquilin-1 (Ubql-1) and Rad23A are two transport factors in the protein-degradation process, and both contain ubiquitin-associated domains (UBAs). S65 of the ubiquitin can be phosphorylated specifically by the kinase PINK1, and the phosphorylated ubiquitin has two interchangeable conformations in solution, the relaxed conformation and the retracted conformation. In this work, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) methods were used to characterize the regulation of interactions between the ubiquitin and the UBAs of Rad23A/Ubql-1 by phosphorylation. The results indicated that the UBAs selectively interacted with the relaxed conformation of the phosphorylated ubiquitin without affecting the affinity. When interacting with the UBA of Ubql-1, inter-protein binding appeared to be able to promote the transferring from the retracted conformation to the relaxed conformation.

Improving on product overlay is one of the key challenges when shrinking technology nodes in semiconductor manufacturing. Using information from non-lithography process steps can unleash overlay improvement potential.1 The challenge is to find intra-wafer signatures by measuring planar distortion. Several previous applications showed that using exposure tool wafer alignment data can improve overlay performance.2 With smart placement of alignment mark pairs in the X and Y direction, it is possible to determine intra-wafer distortion wafer-by-wafer. Both the measurement and modeled results are applied directly as a feed-forward correction to enable wafer level control. In this paper, the capability to do this is evaluated in a feasibility study.

International audience; Single-molecule FRET (smFRET) has become a mainstream technique for studying biomolecular structural dynamics. The rapid and wide adoption of smFRET experiments by an ever- increasing number of groups has generated significant progress in sample preparation, measurement procedures, data analysis, algorithms and documentation. Several labs that employ smFRET approaches have joined forces to inform the smFRET community about streamlining how to perform experiments and analyze results for obtaining quantitative information on biomolecular structure and dynamics. The recent efforts include blind tests to assess the accuracy and the precision of smFRET experiments among different labs using various procedures. These multi-lab studies have led to the development of smFRET procedures and documentation, which are important when submitting entries into the archiving system for integrative structure models, PDB- Dev. This position paper describes the current ‘state of the art’ from different perspectives, points to unresolved methodological issues for quantitative structural studies, provides a set of ‘soft recommendations’ about which an emerging consensus exists, and lists openly available resources for newcomers and seasoned practitioners. To make further progress, we strongly encourage‘open science’ practices.

This paper presents a new Synch-Rel machine designed with a super-inductive electric steel, and compare with the baseline IPM machine for HEV/EV traction application. The comparisons cover the torque-speed capability, machine size, rotor stress, torque ripple and machine efficiency. The impact of the BH property of electric steel on the Synch-Rel machine performance is also presented.

The formation and dynamic process analysis of the rockslide avalanche in mountainous areas are one of the consequences of the catastrophic accident. Such loose accumulation in upslope may saturate partially or completely when the stability of their accumulation dam is distributed or affected by rainfall. We present a case study with respect to the southern Wuyi Mountain located in eastern China, where the wet and rainy climate has led to dozens of similar rockslide hazards. The purpose of this paper was to analyse the mechanism and dynamic characteristics of the rockslide influenced by the same geological conditions and to predict the outburst susceptibility of similar landslides in the future. Detail field surveys, 3D laser scanning, and high-density electrical methods were used to collect the geotechnical information of the complex landslide, to identify the discontinuity between the landslide material and the bedrock, and to investigate the deformation characterization and dynamic process of the rockslide. Based on remote sensing interpretation and field investigation of the deformation process of a landslide in different times and different parts, the background, mechanism, and cause of the landslide were demonstrated. The landslide is controlled by the characteristics of the geological structure, including collapse, circular sliding, plane sliding, and debris flow. In addition, there are rock avalanches on the rear edge of the slope subjected to the combined action of rainfall and gravity. Moreover, there are some resistance anomaly areas of the aquifer and soil between 2 and 50 m where the resistivity is less than 120 ohm-m, and they were deduced to be full of water, confirming a “bathtub” type structure. The mechanism of the catastrophic landslide was a combination of the upper pushing deformation induced by rainfall line uplift and rotational; due to the ancient landslide reactivation in the transposition area, the velocity of the rockslide reached 40.11 m/s.

With the rapid development of the traditional inorganic semiconductor industry, the improvement of its electrical performance is gradually approaching to the limit. It is difficult to continue to improve the performance, lessen the size, and reduce the cost. Therefore, organic semiconductor materials and devices with simple process and low cost have been found and gradually become a new research hotspot. Although organic semiconductor materials and devices are developing rapidly, their electrical properties, such as carrier mobility, are considerably inferior to those of inorganic semiconductors, and their research direction and application prospect are relatively fixed and single. They are developed only in display, sensing, photoelectric conversion and other fields, but the researches on switching power devices, integrated circuits and other fields are still relatively blank. At the same time, power devices are used only in the field of inorganic semiconductors. Therefore, in order to expand the research direction of organic semiconductors and power devices at the same time, a novelsilicon on insulator lateral double-diffused metal oxide semiconductor (SOI LDMOS)power device is reported in this paper. Unlike the SOI LDMOS power devices in traditional inorganic semiconductors, this novel device can be used in the field of organic semiconductors by combining with insulated flexible substrates, which provides a new possibility for the research direction of organic semiconductors. In this paper, both simulation and experiment verify that specific on-resistance (RON,sp) and threshold voltage (VTH) do not change significantly when the conventional SOI LDMOS lacks the substrate electrode, but the breakdown voltage decreases by about 15% due to the absence of the substrate electrode or the longitudinal electric field. In response to this phenomenon, in this paper proposed is a novel SOI LDMOS power device that possesses surface substrate electrodes and drift zone oxide trenches. This novel device can provide electrodes for the substrate again, optimize the horizontal and vertical electric field, and significantly change neither of the RON,sp and the VTH. At the same time, the breakdown voltage (BV) of conventional SOI LDMOS is increased by 57.54%, which alleviates the adverse effects caused by the application in the field of organic semiconductors. This novel SOI LDMOS power device provides the possibility of applying traditional power semiconductors to the research of organic semiconductors, and has innovative significance for expanding the organic semiconductor research.
