The continuous improvement of human-computer interaction technology makes it possible to compute emotions. In this paper, we introduce our submission to the CVPR 2023 Competition on Affective Behavior Analysis in-the-wild (ABAW). Sentiment analysis in human-computer interaction should, as far as possible Start with multiple dimensions, fill in the single imperfect emotion channel, and finally determine the emotion tendency by fitting multiple results. Therefore, We exploited multimodal features extracted from video of different lengths from the competition dataset, including audio, pose and images. Well-informed emotion representations drive us to propose a Attention-based multimodal framework for emotion estimation. Our system achieves the performance of 0.361 on the validation dataset. DDX39B (also called UAP56 or BAT1) which is a kind of DEAD-box family helicase plays pivotal roles in mRNA binding, splicing, and export. It has been found upregulated in many kinds of tumors as an oncogene. Nevertheless, the underlying molecular mechanisms of DDX39B in the proliferation of human colorectal cancer (CRC) remain fairly elusive. In our study, function experiments including the CCK8 and colony formation assay revealed that DDX39B facilitates CRC proliferation in vitro. DDX39B knockdown cells were administered for the orthotopic CRC tumor xenograft mouse model, after which tumor growth was monitored and immunohistochemistry (IHC) was performed to prove that DDX39B can also facilitates CRC proliferation in vivo. Flow cytometry demonstrated that DDX39B promotes the proliferation of CRC cells by driving the cell cycle from G0/G1 phase to the S phase. Mechanistically, RNA-binding protein immunoprecipitation-sequencing (RIP-seq) confirmed that DDX39B binds directly to the first exon of the CDK6/CCND1 pre-mRNA and upregulates their expression. Splicing experiments in vitro using a RT-PCR and gel electrophoresis assay confirmed that DDX39B promotes CDK6/CCND1 pre-mRNA splicing. Rescue experiments indicated that CDK6/CCND1 is a downstream effector of DDX39B-mediated CRC cell proliferation. Collectively, our results demonstrated that DDX39B and CDK6/CCND1 direct interactions serve as a CRC proliferation promoter, which can accelerate the G1/S phase transition to enhance CRC proliferation, and can offer novel and emerging treatment strategies targeting this cell proliferation-promoting gene.

The sea surface microlayer (SML) represents the widest environmental interface with a major environmental importance. It is enriched with surface active organic matter (OM) accumulating at the air–water interface and forming surface films. Also present in the SML OM pool, although in a low degree, are biogenic lipids, known to play a significant role in formation and stabilization of the SML, as well as in the physico-chemical, and morphological properties of the marine surface films. When irradiated, biogenic surface films may undergo unique photochemical reactions leading to abiotic production of unsaturated and functionalized volatile organic compounds (VOCs) acting as precursors for the secondary organic aerosol (SOA). Although previous studies demonstrated photoinduced VOCs production from artificial surfactants in laboratory grade water, saline solutions, and biofilm-containing solutions comprising a mixture of different microorganisms, these experiments were typically conducted under far from ambient conditions or for a very limited number of authentic samples. To investigate the potentially underestimated VOCs sources under more realistic conditions, the analyzed biogenic OM was produced by an authentic diatom culture. Additionally, lipid material was isolated to further investigate phytoplankton lipid material as the main driver of surfactant release and, thus, abiotic photochemical VOCs production. Experiments were conducted in a photochemical reactor and an atmospheric simulation chamber, to study VOCs formation upon irradiation and their implications for aerosol formation and growth, respectively. An improved chemical characterization of the biogenic surfactants and their interfacial photochemical processing is highly desirable to better understand the abiotic VOCs sources, and to improve our understanding of their subsequent impact on the climate. With the rapid development of smart highway construction in domestic and foreign transportation systems, an increasingly number of countries have begun to explore and improve the deployment and development of cooperative vehicle-infrastructure system in smart highway. According to China’s “New-Generation National Traffic Control Network and Smart Highway Pilots Project”, it is significant to enhance traffic safety, efficiency and capacity. However, there is difficulty in the cooperative vehicle-infrastructure use case design. Based on the full analysis of the development status at home and abroad and the analysis of actual engineering needs, this paper came up with the architecture of cooperative vehicle-infrastructure system based on edge computing technology, combined with the current smart highway demonstration project. After feature, demand and policy analysis of the smart highway project, this paper put forward the cooperative vehicle-infrastructure use case design. The use cases are feasible and practical in Jilin and Zhejiang province. The use case design and analysis have significant guiding role for the research and development and engineering implementation of the smart highway cooperative vehicle-infrastructure system in China.

Geothermal heat pump system (GHP) is efficient to utilize renewable energy in cooling and heating of building. However, the major problem is that the coefficient of performance (COP) of GHPs will decay after a long-time operation because of the imbalanced energy injection into and extraction from the ground. It is an effective way to apply solar collectors in the GHPs to collect thermal energy in the non-heating season and deliver the heat into ground, which may relief the imbalance. In our research, a demo project of solar-assisted geothermal heat pump system (SAGHP) in a rural building in Xi’an was built up, which delivers hot water from solar collector into soil from September 1 to November 14, 2018. For analyzing the effectiveness of elevating the ground temperature, a TRNSYS model was established, verified by the measured data in the project, and served for simulating three systems, which including the SAGHPs without accumulating solar energy in soil, the SAGHPs with accumulating thermal energy in soil in summer, and the SAGHPs with accumulating thermal energy in soil in autumn. The comparison of systems showed the significance of thermal storage in Xi’an and the feasibility of thermal injection in autumn for solar collection for improving the heat imbalance of GHPs.

Thermoelectric (TE) materials are used to directly interconvert heat and electricity. The semiconductor PbTe with narrow band gap is one of the leading thermoelectric materials in mid-temperature range due to intrinsically low lattice thermal conductivity and large Seebeck coefficient. Recently, various strategies have produced p-type and n-type PbTe-based materials with greatly enhanced TE properties. However, there are still many fascinating features which are needed to be studied. First, phase analysis and TE properties of binary polycrystalline Pb‒Te samples prepared by various heat treatments have been investigated. Since europium with its 4f electrons was expected to have strong influence on the thermoelectric behavior of PbTe, the constitution and thermoelectric behavior of two substitution schemes with possible Eu2+ and Eu3+ in the Pb–Eu–Te ternary system have been examined. As sodium is widely used as substituting element for p-type PbTe-based TE materials, the crystal structural features and TE properties of two series of polycrystalline samples Pb1-yNayTe1-y/2 and Pb1-xNaxTe have been studied. The local atomic arrangement of sodium by different substitution schemes has been revealed by NMR. Finally, we present the reproducibility of TE properties and microstructure evolutions of high-ZT Eu-substituted and Na-substituted PbTe during different heat treatments. From binary PbTe to ternary Pb–Eu–Te and Pb–Na–Te, and final with quaternary Pb–Eu–Na–Te, the comprehensive picture of the structure and TE properties for Pb–Eu–Na–Te system is constructed.

As the trend of the new generation of intelligent transportation systems, the application of the cooperative vehicle-infrastructure system (CVIS) is important to reduce traffic congestion and accidents. For the cooperative vehicle-infrastructure system, the roadside unit (RSU) is a new application without enough deployment experience. Meanwhile the deployment of traditional mechanical and electrical infrastructure is generally based on experience and is easy to change the design. This paper analyzes the key technical parameters of RSU and the Digital Measurable Image (DMI) method in context of the CVIS. After collecting field data from a smart highway pilot project (the Deqing-Fuyang expanded Huzhou section in Chang-Shen Highway) and matching the DMI method with highway mileage pile numbers, an RSU deployment scheme based on DMI data was completed. It provides significant support for smart highway demonstration projects with cooperative vehicle-infrastructure intelligent management and control applications.

The ability of edge computing determines the effectiveness of the cooperative vehicle-infrastructure system to improve traffic safety, efficiency and capacity, enabling traditional information release method have backstage processing and distribution. It is converted to vehicle, road and backstage after being processed by edge computing algorithm. Vehicles are timely and effectively controlled and induced. Based on the full analysis of the development status at home and abroad and the analysis of actual engineering needs, this paper proposes the composition of the cooperative vehicle-infrastructure system and the main factors affecting edge computing, studies the existing edge computing methods, and finally combines the current smart highway demonstration projects. The actual needs put forward the cooperative vehicle-infrastructure use case research based on edge computing. The use case analysis has significant guiding role for the design, R&D and engineering implementation of the smart highway cooperative vehicle-infrastructure system in China.

As one family of the most investigated thermoelectrics (TE), PbTe-based materials have been developed into state-of-the-art p-type and n-type TE materials. However, there are quite a few studies focusing on the reproducibility of TE properties and microstructure evolution during different heat treatments. In this work, Pb0.98-xNa0.02EuxTe (x = 0-0.030) samples were systematically examined after three different kinds of heat treatments: spark plasma sintering (SPS), laser flash measurement (LFA), and long-term annealing. The maximal solubility of Eu (ca. 1.0 atom%) in Pb0.98-xNa0.02EuxTe was established at 873 K. The most inhomogeneous samples (samples after SPS) show highest values of figure-of-merit, ZTmax, of up to 2.1 at 760 K, due to a large number of micrometer-scale sodium- and europium-rich aggregations in them. After additional heat treatment (LFA measurement or long-term annealing), the ZTmax value reduces to 1.6. The distribution of Eu and Na in the samples becomes much more homogeneous, accompanied by increased lattice parameters and decreased carrier concentrations. The long-term annealed samples have the best stable TE properties and good mechanical stability in the cyclic measurements. Surface protection needs to be considered for the temperatures above 773 K in order to avoid material decomposition.

Although application of nanofluids in enhanced oil recovery has been reported, the dispersibility of nanoparticles in water is one of the most difficult problems to overcome in the process of application. In this research, (3-mercaptopropyl) trimethoxysilane and sodium p-styrene sulfonate were alternatively assembled on the surface of silica nanoparticles. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was used to identify the surface components of functional silica nanoparticles. Transmission electron microscopy was employed for observing the shape and the size of functional silica nanoparticles. The water-based nanofluid with functional silica nanoparticles was stable at pH 9. Particle size distribution of nanofluid (with a mean diameter of 20±8 nm) was investigated by dynamic light scattering. Imbibition tests of water-based nanofluid, alkaline aqueous solution (pH value equality with the water-based nanofluid) and brine into oil presaturated ultra-low permeability sandstone cores were completed. As expected, the oil recovery of the core immersed in nanofluid was significantly higher than cores immersed in alkaline water (pH 9) and 3 wt% NaCl solution. To reveal the mechanism responsible for enhanced oil recovery, contact angle measurements were performed on the oil-wet surface before and after treatment with the nanofluid. The results showed that the wettability of the oil-wet surface changed from oil-wet to water-wet after treatment with nanofluid. The crude oil displacement from anoil-wet glass surface innanofluid was also studied. The nanofluidexhibitedan excellent capability that makesoil displace from an oil-wet surface. These results aid our understanding of the role of the nanofluid in displacing crude oil from the rock. The essential results from our experiments showed that nanoparticles can be stably dispersed in water by surface-functionalized and nanofluid have more potential in enhanced oil recovery.

Air-source heat pumps (ASHPs) are being widely used in residential and commercial buildings and have a huge potential market and development foreground for its energy-savings, high efficiency and environmental friendliness. However, at low temperatures, frost can accumulate on the surface of the finned outdoor coil which will decrease the heating capacity and coefficient of performance (COP). This paper proposes a novel frost-free air-source heat pump water heater (ASHPWH) system, which is coupled to an extra heat exchanger coated by a solid desiccant (EHECSD) with an energy storage device (ESD). To test the system performance, experiments are carried out and the results show that the relative humidity (RH) of the air can be reduced to 52% after dehumidification and the outdoor heat exchanger can be kept frost-free for 34 min at a temperature of 0 °C and relative humidity (RH) of 80%. In addition, the average COP of the system is 2.81 in a single period, which is an increase of 7.25% and 46.3% in comparison with hot-gas bypass defrosting (HGBD) and electric resistance heating (ERH) respectively. With this new technology, it has been proven that frost-free ASHPWH be achieved.

In a multiprocessor systems, it is important to local and to replace the faulty processors to maintain systempsilas high reliability. The fault diagnosis, which is the process of identifying fault processors in a multiprocessor system through testing. The conditional diagnosis requires that for each processor u in a system, all the processors that are directly connected to u do not fail at the same time. In this paper, we study the conditional diagnosability of the n-dimensional locally twisted cubes. After showing some properties of the locally twisted cubes, we prove that it under the PMC model is 4n – 7 for n ≥ 5.

The activity of several yttrium alkoxide and aryloxide complexes supported by a ferrocene-based ligand incorporating two thiol phenolates, thiolfan (1,1′-bis(2,4-di-tert-butyl-6-thiomethylenephenoxy)ferrocene), was studied. The tert-butoxide complex could only be isolated in the ate form, while a monophenoxide complex could be obtained for OAr = 2,6-di-tert-butylphenolate. The synthetic utility of these yttrium complexes has been demonstrated by the ring-opening polymerization of cyclic esters, with a high activity toward ε-caprolactone and -valerolactone being found for the yttrium phenoxide complex.

Conventional optical components shape the wavefront of propagating light by adjusting the optical path length, which requires the use of rather thick lenses, especially for the adjustment of terahertz (THz) radiation due to its long wavelength. Two ultrathin THz planar lenses were designed and fabricated based on interface phase modulation of antenna resonance. The lens thicknesses were extremely reduced to 100 nm, which is only 1/4000th of the illuminating light wavelength. The focusing and imaging functions of the lenses were experimentally demonstrated. The h-extra connectivity is an important parameter to measure the reliability and fault tolerance ability of large interconnection networks. The k-ary n-cube is an important interconnection network of parallel computing systems. The 1-restricted connectivity of k-ary n-cubes has been obtained by Chen et al. for k > 3 in [Y.-C. Chen, J. J. M. Tan, Restricted connectivity for three families of interconnection networks, Applied Mathematics and Computation 188 (2) (2007)1848--1855]. Nevertheless, the h-extra connectivity of 3-ary n-cubes has not been obtained yet. In this paper we prove that the 1-extra connectivity of a 3-ary n-cube is 4n-3 for n> 1 and the 2-extra connectivity of 3-ary n-cube is 6n-7 for n> 2., 10 pages, 2 figures

A method to measure the refractive index for high reflectance materials in the terahertz range with terahertz time domain reflection spectroscopy is proposed. In this method, the THz waveforms reflected by a silicon wafer and high reflectance sample are measured respectively. The refractive index of the silicon wafer, measured with the THz time domain transmission spectroscopy, is used as a reference in the THz time domain reflective spectroscopy. Therefore, the complex refractive index of the sample can be obtained by resorting to the known reflective index of the silicon and the Fresnel law. To improve the accuracy of the phase shift, the Kramers–Kronig transform is adopted. This method is also verified by the index of the silicon in THz reflection spectroscopy. The bulk metal plates have been taken as the sample, and the experimentally obtained metallic refractive indexes are compared with the simple Drude model.
