Cu matrix composites reinforced by ex-situ added CrB2 ceramic particles were prepared by powder metallurgy and hot extrusion, and then the effect of CrB2 content on microstructure and mechanical properties was studied. Results show that the strength of Cu matrix composites depends mainly on the dispersion degree of CrB2 particles, which is closely corresponded to the content of CrB2 particles. When the content is below 3vol.%, CrB2 particles disperses uniformly in the Cu matrix, and the strength of Cu matrix composites increases continuously with the content of CrB2. However, when the content is above 3vol.%, the strength of Cu matrix composites decreases significantly with the increase of CrB2 content, which is ascribed to the serious agglomeration phenomenon. Although both the electrical conductivity and plasticity decrease with the increase of CrB2 content, they remain quite a high level. The excellent combination properties are obtained when the content of CrB2 is 3vol.%, viz. The tensile strength is 304 MPa, the elongation is 22% and the electrical conductivity is 90 %IACS, better than most of the reported Cu matrix composites especially electrical conductivity prepared by in-situ method. Furthermore, dislocation strengthening caused by thermal mismatch and Orowan strengthen of CrB2 is demonstrated as the main strengthening mechanism of Cu/CrB2 composites, based on the theoretical and experimental investigations.

Background Poria cocos (Schw.) Wolf or Fuling is one of the top 10 most frequently prescribed herbs in China for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Objective The purpose of this systematic review is to determine the additional benefit of Fuling formulae use in addition to hypoglycaemic agents for T2DM in randomised clinical trials. Methods English (5) and Chinese (4) medical databases were searched from their inception to August 2021. RCTs that included Fuling in herbal formulae for T2DM were included. Risk of bias were assessed using the Cochrane Collaboration’s procedures. Stata software (13.0) was used for data analysis. Results Seventy-three RCTs (6,489 participants) with herbal formulae containing Fuling were included. Most studies were at risk of bias and strength of the evidence were low to moderate. Meta-analysis findings showed that the addition of formulae containing Fuling to hypoglycaemic agent-treatments could benefit people with T2DM by reducing fasting blood glucose (MD -0.82 [-0.93, -0.71]; I2 = 79.6%, P = 0.00), 2-hour postprandial blood glucose (MD-1.15 [-1.31, -0.98], I2 = 80%, P = 0.00) and haemoglobin A1c (MD-0.64 [-0.75, -0.53], I2 = 84.7%, P = 0.00). Adverse events were also significantly lower in the integrative group than in the hypoglycaemic alone group (RR 0.99 [0.93, 1.06], P = 0.87). Conclusion Evidence from this study supports the use of Fuling formulae combined with hypoglycaemic agents for T2DM. The combined therapies appear to be well tolerated. The Contamination resistance of SiO2 optical films prepared by using sol-gel method was investigated and improved in this research. FDTS (1H, 1H, 2H, 2H-perfluorodecyltrichlorosilane) was used to modify SiO2 thin films. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FT-IR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were used to evaluate the components on surface of the SiO2 thin films. The optical properties and hydrophobicity were also measured. The results show that the SiO2 thin film modification with FDTS causes −OH groups to be replaced by organic groups containing fluorine. The transmittance peak of SiO2 thin film changes, and the surface contact angle of water droplets on the SiO2 film increases from 35° to 107° after surface modification with FTDS. After the SiO2 thin films had been put in a vacuum environment for 24 hours, the peak transmittance of the modified SiO2 film under the same conditions is reduced to 0.14%, which is less than 3.17% of the unmodified film. The peak transmittance of the modified SiO2 thin films is also improved.

CH3NH3PbI3 system of organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite structure solar cells absorption material was established by using first-principle calculations based on density functional theory (DFT). Orthorhombic CH3NH3PbI3 system model is optimized by different functional theories of CASTEP in Materials Studio. It revealed that the results of WC/GGA calculation method are more close to the experimental value. Electron band structure, state density are calculated in the paper and the results indicated that top orbital of the valence band is mainly contributed by Pb atom and I atomic orbital. At the same time, the conduction band bottom is mainly contributed by the orbital contribution of Pb atoms and strong σ bond is formed between terminal iodine atom and Pb atomic orbital. Moreover, the contribution of organic element density of states near the Fermi surface is very weak and the band gap of organic-inorganic hybrid CH3NH3PbI3 materials is basically determined by inorganic elements.

As the traffic volume and wheel load on the orthotropic deck of a long-span steel bridge increase, longitudinal cracks often develop in the asphalt concrete surfacing leading to deterioration. The purpose of this study was accordingly to derive the fatigue failure evolution law of this surfacing. The fatigue damage evolution mechanism was studied from a micro perspective to derive a general fatigue damage evolution law. Fatigue tests and theoretical predictions of fatigue life were then performed for different asphalt concrete surfacing types commonly used in the decks of long-span steel bridges to verify the derived law.

We report new results on a tunneling junction for tandem solar cells using a nano-structured amorphous silicon p+layer (na-Si p+) as the recombination layer inserted between the n layer and the p layer. Devices were characterized by their dark current-voltage behavior (I-V), activation energy (Ea) and quantum efficiency (QE). The result shows that the tunnel junction with a na-Si p+insertion layer has higher recombination rates with higher density of defect states of about 2.7×1019cm-3, lower resistance with activation energy of 22meV. The tunnel junction with a na-Si p+insertion layer could be easily integrated into the tandem solar cell deposition process.

It is significant to make researches on drag reduction in two-phase transport pipeline because two-phase flow has high energy dissipation. API X 52 steel pipe with diameter of 40mm is used in this paper to simulate pipeline with different inclination geometry including horizontal, up-inclined and vertical sections. The up-inclined section has an inclination angle of eight degree. Experiments and theoretical analysis are carried out to study the drag reduction characteristics of gas-liquid two-phase flow in these three sections. The drag reducing agents used here is polyacrylamide. It is found that two-phase drag reduction varies with pipe inclination geometry. The largest drag reduction efficiency occurs in horizontal pipes and which is up to seventy percent. Drag reduction efficiency in up-inclined section is up to sixty percent. Drag reduction in vertical section is the lowest and which can be up to about thirty percent. A mechanistic drag reduction model is proposed to predict drag reduction in gas-liquid two-phase flow. The results predicted are in good agreement with the experiment data.

An experimental loop was established with API X52 steel pipes to investigate the effect of drag-reducing polymer on heat transfer in gas-liquid two-phase flow. The inner diameter of the steel pipe is forty millimeter and the test loop has four different test sections such as horizontal, inclined upward, inclined downward and vertical upward sections. The experimental results were presented. The relationship between the drag reduction efficiency and heat transfer reduction was analyzed. When the drag reduction induced by drag-reducing polymer is about 60~70%, the heat transfer between the fluid and the pipe wall obviously decreases. The heat transfer reduction can reach up to 80~90%, which is greater than the drag reduction. A new method is proposed for characterizing the effect of drag reducing polymer on the heat transfer in two-phase flow with Stanton Number.

The effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for the treatment of supraventricular tachycardia were systematically reviewed. The randomized controlled trials (RCTs) regarding acupuncture for supraventricular tachycardia were searched in domestic and overseas databases, and the evaluation tool of bias risk in Cochrane Handbook 5.1.0 software was used to perform the evaluation of bias risk in literature, and RevMan 5.2 software was applied for statistics and Meta-analysis. Five RCTs involving 323 patients were included. The results showed that compared with the blank control group, the acupuncture reduced the heart rate by 18.8 times/min [95% CI (12.68, 24.92)]; the clinical effective rate in the acupuncture group was superior to that in the diltiazem group [OR= 3.11, 95% CI (1.50, 6.46)]; the difference of immediate effect between propafenone and acupuncture was not significant. No reports regarding adverse events was described in 5 RCTs. As was shown in the present evidence, acupuncture is safe and effective for the treatment of supraventricular tachycardia, but the level of evidence was low and the intensity of conclusion needed to be improved.

Goal: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) focuses on individual diagnosis. Besides the analysis methods on group level, clinical experimental data could also be researched with Information Technology to optimize the feature for individual healing effect; Method: we propose and apply a new method of feature optimization — Balance-Bagging-PRFS — to optimize the feature of insomnia intervened by TCM, aiming at solving problems typically in TCM data, such as mixing of discrete and continuous features and data imbalance; Result: from the view of all data, it is found that different levels of "ISI baseline score" and "Insomnia severity" have important influence on the curative effect. In treat group, different values of "environment" and "social field baseline" make remarkable difference on curative effect; while in control group, in which patients are treated with the placebo, "social field baseline", "survival quality baseline", and "classification of constitution" make sense; Conclusion: the method of Balance-Bagging-PRFS achieves good results in feature optimization for data from insomnia interfered by TCM, and it provides a basis for TCM individual diagnosis and for further optimization of symptom.

In order to scientifically reflect the real efficacy of TCM treatment and to preliminarily establish a definitely valid and reliable assessment system of stroke treatment, with multi-dimensional outcome assessment indexes, including efficacy evaluation system of conventional western medicine, syndrome evaluation criteria in TCM and quality of life assessment system. An integrative approach of cross-sectional survey and prospective follow-up was adopted. Two hundred and forty-five case-episodes of stroke patients were assessed by determining such parameters as nerve functional deficit scale, grading of total status of living ability, activity of daily living (ADL), TCM stroke criteria of diagnosing-treatment, TCM syndrome related symptoms/signs, Health Survey Questionnaire (Short form 36, SF-36), and index of quality of life (QOL), and their construction and relation were analyzed by such methods as multivariate relation, partial relation, linear regression, factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha coefficients, and the responsiveness estimation. The multi-dimensional assessment system of stroke treatment, containing 57 indexes with clarified constructions and classification, was created, and its validity and reliability confirmed after assessement. Various degrees of relationship were found between different TCM Syndromes and different domains of QOL.The assessment system of stroke treatment preliminarily created has satisfied reliability and validity. It could be expected to reflect the real efficacy of TCM treatment more inclusive and accurate. TCM Syndrome indexes are considered to be the factor related to both domains of mental and physical health, particularly with the former, therefore, to improve the TCM Syndrome would imply improvement of the mental health, physical health and QOL of the patients.
