A total of 240 geese (28 days old; 120 ganders and 120 gooses) with an average initial body weight of 1068.19 ± 6.59 g were used to evaluate the effects of increasing dietary methionine (Met) levels on growth performance, blood hematology, organ indexes, and myofiber traits. The experimental period was 42 days. All birds were randomly assigned to four treatment groups based on the initial body weight. There were six replicate cages per treatment, and 10 geese per cage (5 ganders and 5 gooses). Dietary treatments were based on a basal diet containing 0.25% Met, and extra supplied 0.25%, 0.50%, and 0.75% Met to form different dietary groups (0.25%, 0.50%, 0.75%, and 1.00% Met, as-fed basis). The results of this study indicated that final body weight, body weight gain, and feed efficiency increased quadratically, relative weight of breast muscle and myofiber diameter increased cubically, serum total protein and uric acid concentrations, relative weight of liver and abdominal fat, and myofiber diameter increased linearly, whereas myofiber density decreased linearly, with the level of Met increased. The maximized growth performance and breast muscle parameters were observed in 0.75% Met-containing group.

As a critical branch of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the medicine industry, the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) significantly improves the quality of healthcare due to its real-time monitoring and low medical cost. Benefiting from edge and cloud computing, IoMT is provided with more computing and storage resources near the terminal to meet the low-delay requirements of computation-intensive services. However, the service offloading from health monitoring units (HMUs) to edge servers generates additional energy consumption. Fortunately, artificial intelligence (AI), which has developed rapidly in recent years, has proved effective in some resource allocation applications. Taking both energy consumption and delay into account, we propose an energy-aware service offloading algorithm under an end-edge-cloud collaborative IoMT system with Asynchronous Advantage Actor-critic (A3C), named ECAC. Technically, ECAC uses the structural similarity between the natural distributed IoMT system and A3C, whose parameters are asynchronously updated. Besides, due to the typical delay-sensitivity mechanism and time-energy correction, ECAC can adjust dynamically to the diverse service types and system requirements. Finally, the effectiveness of ECAC for IoMT is proved on real data.

The phenomenon of droplet impact on heated wall along with its evaporation is encountered in a variety of scenarios in industrial production. The present work aims to experimentally study the evaporation heat transfer of single hydrous ethanol droplet impact on a heated wall at saturation temperature under lower velocity. Its dynamic evolution after the impact, along with the stable adhesion morphology, was studied at different wall temperatures. The characteristics of its heat transfer and evaporation were analyzed by focusing on the effects of wall temperature, ethanol concentration, and adhesion morphology. The results show that the wall temperature has little effect on the spreading time, but significant on the spreading area and retraction. The "pining effect" of the hydrous ethanol weakens with the ethanol concentration, until it completely disappears. The film thickness along with its contact angle in adhesion evaporation shows a linear decrease accompanied by oscillations at the later stage. Evaporation heat transfer rate gradually increases with the wall temperature and ethanol concentration, and shows a multiple power function with them. The saturation temperature in evaporation gradually increases with the wall temperature, while the ethanol concentration has a minor effect. The average heat flux in evaporation can reach the magnitude of 10E5, and increases with the wall temperature and ethanol concentration.

Polysyndactyly of the fused fifth toe with the fourth toe is a common subtype of postaxial polydactyly. The aim of the study was to present an operative technique for cosmetic improvement and reconstruction of polysyndactyly of the fused fifth toe with the fourth toe. We retrospectively reviewed the details of 22 patients with postaxial polydactyly treated from January 2018 to May 2021. The operation involved medial toe excision and web space reconstruction using a dorsal rectangular flap without skin grafting and simultaneous correction of a valgus deformity by chondroplasty and soft tissue balancing without an osteotomy. The web shape, scar, and aesthetic outcomes were evaluated on the criteria of the D'Arcangelo, Vancouver Scar Scale score, and satisfactory questionnaire, respectively. The patients were followed up for 7-43 months. At the last follow-up, valgus deformity was completely corrected without recurrence. On the basis of the criterion of D'Arcangelo, the height and width of the webs were good in 24 of the feet, fair in four of the feet, and poor in none of the feet. The mean Vancouver Scar Scale score was 1.55. All parents and patients were satisfied with the appearance and function. The described medial toe excision technique and reconstruction of the web space without a skin graft corrected the valgus deformity and were able to satisfy functional and cosmetic requirements.

The yak is an agricultural animal with strong disease resistance in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Immune organs are directly involved in the body's immune response and protect it from external aggression. In this study, we characterized and evaluated the main markers of interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-17a, hypoxia inducer factor-1 (HIF-1)α, and heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) in the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus, and hemal nodes of adult yaks using network informatics, molecular cloning, immunohistochemistry, real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR), and western blotting. We first cloned the IL-1β and IL-17a mRNA of yaks. A significant feature was the higher IL-1β and IL-17a expression in the lymph nodes than in the spleen, hemal nodes, and thymus. Immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence revealed that IL-1β and IL-17a cells were mainly located in the paracortex area of the lymph nodes and the T-cell-dependent area in the hemal nodes and spleen. Several HIF-1α proteins were detected in the cortex of the hemal nodes mantle, while HSP90 was detected in the lymphoid nodules of the hemal nodes and lymph nodes. This study sheds light on the relationship between the morphology and function of these organs and provides an important reference for studies on the participation of yak immune organs in immune responses.

Autophagy plays an important role in mammalian oocyte maturation and early embryonic development and rapamycin is well known for inducing autophagy. Although previous studies have reported the effects of rapamycin on oocytes in vitro maturation (IVM) in different species, few studies have been reported on the role of rapamycin in yak oocytes IVM and embryonic development. Therefore, the objective of this study was to examine the effect of rapamycin treatment on yak oocytes IVM and early embryonic development. Specifically, immature yak oocytes during IVM or parthenogenetic (PA) embryos were treated with different rapamycin concentrations to select an optimal dose. Then evaluated its effect on maturation rates, cleavage, and blastocyst formation rates, mitochondrial membrane potential, ROS levels. Related genes and proteins expression in matured oocytes and blastocysts were also evaluated. The results show that 10 nM rapamycin treatment during IVM significantly improved oocyte maturation rates of oocytes and blastocyst formation rates. Treatment with 10 nM rapamycin reduced ROS level but increased mitochondrial membrane potential. Correspondingly, mRNA and protein expressions of LC3, Beclin-1, and Bcl-2 up-regulated while Bax down-regulated in matured yak COCs. When parthenogenetic embryos were treated with different rapamycin concentrations, 10 nM rapamycin treatment showed higher 8-cell and blastocyst formation rates. Also, CDX2, POU5F1, SOX2, and Nanog levels in blastocysts were upregulated. In summary, our findings demonstrate that rapamycin treatment improves oocytes maturation probably by increasing mitochondrial membrane potential, reducing ROS levels, and regulating the apoptosis in mature yak oocytes. Rapamycin treatment also improves embryonic developmental competence in the yak.

Graphite flake/Al composites are promising thermal management materials due to their light weight and excellent thermal properties. The interface structure is a key factor that impacts the thermophysical properties. In this work, prediction models based on the acoustic mismatch model (AMM) and the effective medium approach (EMA) were developed to evaluate the effect of the alloying elements on the interfacial thermal conductance (ITC) and thermal conductivity (TC) of graphite flake/Al composites. With the increase in Si content, the ITC for the graphite flakes/Al composites increases clearly. In contrast, the ITC for the graphite flakes/Al composites decreases with the increase in Mg content. The variation range of ITC of graphite flakes/Al–Mg–Si composites is (2.3 × 107–3.1 × 107) W m−1 K−1. The thermal conductivity of the graphite flakes/Al–Mg–Si composites is in the range of (412–476) W m−1 K−1. With the increase in the volume fraction of graphite flake, the thermal conductivity of the graphite flakes/Al composites is significantly improved.

Fibro-adipogenic progenitors (FAPs) in the muscles have been found to interact closely with muscle progenitor/stem cells (MPCs) and facilitate muscle regeneration at normal conditions. However, it is not clear how FAPs may interact with MPCs in aged muscles. Senolytics have been demonstrated to selectively eliminate senescent cells and generate therapeutic benefits on ageing and multiple age-related disease models.By studying the muscles and primary cells of age matched WT mice and Zmpste24We observed that, compared with muscles of WT mice, muscles of Z24These results indicate that the application of senolytics in the progeria-aged muscles can be an efficient strategy to remove senescent cells, including senescent FAPs, which results in improved function of muscle progenitor/stem cells. The senescent FAPs can be a potential novel target for therapeutic treatment of progeria ageing related muscle diseases.

Triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, an easily detected surrogate marker of IR, has not been explored sufficiently on its relationship with incident MAFLD risk. This study sought to investigate the association of baseline TyG index with the risk of MAFLD in a Chinese cohort.Methods: This health check-up cohort was constructed with eligible 2056 Chinese from a community. The TyG index was calculated as ln (fasting triglyceride [mg/dL]×fasting glucose [mg/dL]/2). Cox proportion hazard models were used to evaluate the longitudinal association between baseline TyG index and the risk of MAFLD.Results: During an average follow-up of 2.5 ± 0.5 years, about 12.8% of the subjects developed MAFLD, and the incidence of MAFLD trended to increase with the quartile TyG index (Ptrend < 0.05). After adjusting for all confounders, TyG index was independently correlated with the risk of incident MAFLD (HR = 1.784, 95% CI = 1.383– 2.302, P < 0.001), and the risk of MAFLD in the highest quartile of TyG index was two times higher than that in the lowest quartile (95% CI = 1.377– 2.992, P = 0.001). The restricted cubic spline analysis showed that the relationship between TyG index and the risk of MAFLD was linear in males (P for total < 0.001; P for non-linearity = 0.746), but nonlinear in females (P for non-linearity = 0.040).Conclusion: A high baseline TyG index was independently associated with a high risk of incident MAFLD, and we might develop the strategy of MAFLD prevention based on the TyG index.Keywords: triglyceride-glucose index, metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease, insulin resistance, risk, cohort study

The aging of the immune system, or immunosenescence, was recently verified to have a causal role in driving the aging of solid organs, while the senolytic elimination of senescent immune cells was found to effectively delay systemic aging. Our recent study also showed that immune cells in severely dystrophic muscles develop senescence-like phenotypes, including the increased expression of senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) factors and senescence markers. We investigated the structural features of arterial blood vessels in yak uterine caruncle and the effects of the expression of vascular regulation-related factors on angiogenesis in pregnant and non-pregnant yak uterus. Three-dimensional specimens of the uterine artery of non-pregnant and pregnant yaks were produced to observe and measure the distribution characteristics and number of arterial vessels in the uterus and caruncle in the two periods. The uterine caruncle structure was observed and analysed by haematoxylin-eosin staining. The expression features of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1) in the uterine caruncle were detected with immunohistochemistry, quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and western blotting. The length and number of blood vessels in the caruncle were increased, the degree of curvature was decreased, and the folding was more complicated during pregnancy as compared with that during non-pregnancy. The immunohistochemical results demonstrated that VEGF and Ang-1 were mainly expressed strongly in the mucosal epithelial cytoplasm. The glandular lumen of the uterine gland, lymphocytes and the media and adventitia of blood vessels are widely distributed, and they are all positive. VEGF and Ang-1 mRNA and protein levels were highest in pregnancy, followed by that in the luteal phase and in the follicular phase, and three stages were significantly different (p .05). These findings provide an anatomical reference and theoretical basis for improving the diagnosis and treatment of yak reproductive disorders and other diseases in high-altitude and low-oxygen environments.

The influencing factors of kinesiophobia (fear of movement) in patients with atrial fibrillation(AF)during the post-operative "Blanking Period" are not known. The aims were to investigate the status of kinesiophobia in patients with AF during the post-operative "Blanking Period", then further describe the occurrence and analyze the influencing factors of patients' kinesiophobia by the Fear-Avoidance Model.In total,400 patients diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, during the post-operative "Blanking Period" from the selected hospital were included in this study. The Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia Heart (TSK-SV Heart), the Self-efficacy for Exercise (SEE) scale, and the Geriatric Locomotive Function Scale (GLFS) were used to assess kinesiophobia, exercise self-efficacy, and physical function. The study adopted a cross-sectional design.The score of kinesiophobia during the "Blanking Period" after operation in patients with atrial fibrillation was (44.06 ± 10.77), and the rate of high kinesiophobia was 71.61%.Logistic regression results showed that age, education, household monthly income, resting heart rate, EHRA symptom classification, exercise self-efficacy, and physical function influenced the kinesiophobia of patients during the post-operative "Blanking Period"(p0.05， p0.01).Kinesiophobia is common in patients with atrial fibrillation during the postoperative "Blanking Period", and the fear of movement is related to age, education, household monthly income, resting heart rate, EHRA symptom classification, exercise self-efficacy, and physical function. Clinical and nursing staff should pay close attention to the psychological problems in the post-operation "Blanking Period" of exercise rehabilitation in patients with atrial fibrillation, make timely interventions to reduce patients' fear of movement, and improve patients' compliance with exercise rehabilitation.

The incidence of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) is rapidly increasing worldwide. However, the incidence in Henan Province of China has been unknown for more than two decades. This study aimed to estimate the incidence of T1DM in the 0.5-14.9 years age group in Henan Province of China from 2017 to 2020.A retrospective analysis of hospital registration data from 18 cities in Henan Province, China, identified 1726 patients (843 males, 883 females) between 0.5-14.9 years of age with newly diagnosed T1DM in Henan Province from January 1The crude incidence of T1DM per 100 000 person years for the 0.5-14.9 years age group in the Henan Province of China was 2.19 [95% confidence interval (CI): 1.99, 2.40], with a peak in the 10-14.9 years age group. The rate ratio of females to males was 1.32 (95% CI: 1.20, 1.45) in the 0.5-14.9 years age group. The incidence rate was higher in females than males in the 5-9.9 years age group (p0.01) and the 10-14.9 years age group (p0.01). The seasonality of the incidence was different from that in previous reports, with the lowest incidence in the spring.The incidence of T1DM in the 0.5-14.9 years age group in Henan Province was still among the lowest reported globally, but was in line with other incidence rates reported from China.

Lung cancer is the most common malignancy in the world and a growing number of researches have focused on its metabolic characteristics. Studies have shown that the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) HOXA11-AS is aberrantly expressed in many tumors. However, the role of HOXA11-AS in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) glycolysis and other energy metabolism pathways has not been characterized.The mRNA levels of HOXA11-AS, microRNA-148b-3p (miR-148b-3p), and pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) were detected using qRT-PCR. The expression levels of proteins were measured using immunohistochemistry and western blot. The CCK-8, EdU, and colony formation assays were used to assess proliferation. Glycolytic changes were assessed by measuring lactate production, ATP production, andThe expression of HOXA11-AS was markedly increased in LUAD, and was strongly associated with a poor prognosis. In addition, HOXA11-AS promoted proliferation and glycolysis in LUAD, and miR-148b-3p inhibited proliferation and glycolysis in LUAD. Mechanistically, HOXA11-AS positively regulated PKM2 expression by binding to miR-148b-3p, thereby promoting LUAD proliferation and glycolysis. In addition, HOXA11-AS inhibited LUAD xenograft growth and glycolysis via upregulation of miR-148b-3p expression and downregulation of PKM2 expression in vivo.These results showed that HOXA11-AS enhanced LUAD proliferation and glycolysis via the miR-148b-3p/PKM2 axis. The findings in this paper expanded our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of LUAD tumorigenesis and glycolysis and showed that HOXA11-AS could be useful as a diagnostic and prognostic marker for LUAD.

Unlike traditional database systems where data and system availability are tied together, there is a wide class of systems targeting realtime monitoring and analytics over structured logs where these properties can be decoupled. In these systems, responsiveness and freshness of data are often more important than perfectly complete answers. One such system is Meta's Scuba [2]. Historically, Scuba has favored system availability along with speed and freshness of results over data completeness and durability. While these choices allowed Scuba to grow from terabyte scale to petabyte scale and continue onboarding a variety of use cases, they also came at an operational cost of dealing with incomplete data and managing data loss. In this paper, we present the next generation of Scuba's architecture, codenamed Kraken , which decouples storage management from the query serving system and introduces a single, durable source of truth. This enables tangible improvements to system fault tolerance and query performance while still respecting tolerable bounds of client observed data freshness. We also describe the journey of how we deployed Kraken into full production as we gradually turned off the older system with no user-visible down time.

To explore whether sense of mastery can mediate the relationship between social support and illness perception in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) who were at the "Blanking Period."A cross-sectional design.405 patients with AF who were at the "Blanking Period" in the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University were recruited; they completed a set of questionnaires, including the Perceived Social Support Scale, the Personal Mastery Scale and the Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire.Social support and sense of mastery were both adversely connected to illness perception. The indirect effect of social support on illness perception through sense of mastery was negative, accounting for 86.04% of the total effect.During the "Blanking Period," better social support and sense of mastery contribute to a positive illness perception of AF patients. Social support also can influence patients' illness perception indirectly via the mediator of sense of mastery.
