The sedimentation performance of sludge affects the operation of the entire treatment process. It is important to measure the zone settling velocity accuracy and high efficiency which can reflect the sedimentation performance of sludge. Traditional methods often rely entirely on manual implementation. Long hours of manual measurement work brings physical strain to the operator, low efficiency of the entire measurement work and a large error in the measurement results. Therefore, the method combining image processing and neural network to realize automatic recognition of the scale value of sludge water interface in sludge sedimentation video is proposed. Based on the recognized scale value, overall sedimentation change curve is drew, and the sludge sedimentation rate is calculated. Then, the activated sludge was examined by phase contrast microscope to obtain sludge image. The flocs, filamentous bacteria and other targets in the image are segmented with Labelme, the characteristics of flocs and sedimentation rate of the previous day are taken as input of deep stochastic configuration network, and the calculated sludge sedimentation rate is output for predicting layered sedimentation rate. Through experimental analysis, the prediction error is within a reasonable range. The intelligent prediction of sludge regional sedimentation velocity is realized.

Astragaloside IV (ASV) has a significant protective effect against vascular endothelial dysfunction. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the role of ASV on oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL)-induced EPCs dysfunction and its potential mechanisms.Methods: EPCs were isolated from the peripheral blood of mice and treated with different concentration of ASV (10, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 and 200 μM). ox-LDL was served as a stimulus for cell model. The proliferation and migration, and improved tube formation ability of EPCs were determined. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and the levels of inflammatory cytokines, including interleukin 1β (IL-1β), IL-6, IL-10 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α) were measured. The expression oflectin-like oxidized LDL receptor (LOX-1) andNod-like receptor nucleotide-binding domain leucine rich repeat containing protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome were detected by Western blot analysis.Results: We found ASV treatment alleviated ox-LDL-induced cellular dysfunction, as evidenced by promoted proliferation and migration, and improved tube formation ability. Besides, ASV treatment significantly suppressed ox-LDL-induced ROS production and the levels of inflammatory cytokines. ASV inhibited ox-LDL-induced expression of LOX-1 in a concentration-dependent manner. Overexpression of LOX-1 in EPCs triggered NLRP3inflammasome activation, while inhibition of LOX-1 or treatment with ASV suppressed ox-LDL-induced NLRP3 inflammasome activation. Furthermore, overexpression of LOX-1 in ox-LDL-induced EPCs furtherly impaired cellular function, which could be ameliorated by ASV treatment.Conclusion: Our study showed that ASV may protect EPCs against ox-LDL-induced dysfunction via LOX-1/NLRP3 pathway.Keywords: endothelial progenitor cells, astragaloside IV, lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor, NLRP3 inflammasome

Cadmium (Cd) is toxic throughout the food chain. Selenium (Se) can mitigate Cd accumulation in rice plants, although it is unclear why it has such effect. The objectives of this study were to investigate the effects of Se application on Cd-induced oxidative stress and antioxidant activities, and the combined effects of Se application and water management on the formation of iron plaque on the rice surface and Fe, Cd, and Se accumulation in rice plants. Rice seedlings were grown in Cd-contaminated soil with or without the addition of Se, and in aerobic or flooded conditions. Exogenous Se reduced Cd-induced oxidative stress. In the flooded treatment, exogenous selenite significantly decreased Cd concentrations in rice tissues, whereas it noticeably enhanced Cd concentrations in rice tissues in the aerobic treatment. Furthermore, selenite addition and flooding promote the formation of iron plaque and increase Fe concentrations in rice tissues. Pearson correlation analysis shows that plant Cd was significantly negatively correlated with Fe concentrations in rice tissues, and plant Fe was significantly positively correlated with Se concentrations in rice tissues, but no significant correlation was found between Cd and Se concentrations Thus, exogenous selenite may indirectly affect Cd uptake by influencing the formation of iron plaque on rice root surface, Fe uptake and Fe levels in rice.

As one of the most popular applications of lidar systems, the atmospheric visibility is defined to be inversely proportional to the atmospheric extinction coefficient at 0.55 um. Since the laser at 1.5 um shows the highest maximum permissible exposure in the wavelength ranging from 0.3 um to 10 um, the eye-safe 1.5 um lidar can be deployed in urban areas. In such a case, the measured extinction coefficient at 1.5 um should be converted to that at 0.55 um for visibility retrieval. Although several models have been established since 1962, the accurate wavelength conversion remains a challenge. An adaptive inversion algorithm for 1.5 um visibility lidar is proposed and demonstrated by using the in situ Angstrom wavelength exponent, which is derived from either a sun photometer or an aerosol spectrometer. The impact of the particle size distribution of atmospheric aerosols and the Rayleigh backscattering of atmospheric molecules are taken into account. In comparison, the Angstrom wavelength exponent derived from the sun photometer is 7.7% higher than that derived from the aerosol spectrometer. Then, using 1.5 um visibility lidar, the visibility with a temporal resolution of 5 min is detected over 48 hours in Hefei (31.83 N, 117.25 E). The average visibility error between the new method and a visibility sensor (Vaisala, PWD52) is 5.2% with the R-square value of 0.96, while the relative error between another reference visibility lidar at 532 nm and the visibility sensor is 6.7% with the R-square value of 0.91. Under the guidance of excellent engineer education and training project, this paper focus on the problems in the process of school-enterprise jointed training engineering undergraduates. The reasons based on school, enterprise, and students are presented and the measures how to solve the problems are analyzed separately. The purpose is to understand the difference between the needs of enterprises and the desire of students in order that the enterprises comply with the principle of university education and find the proper way to manage and exploit students. At the same time, the students in this project can adapt the training style as well as the requirement of university actively. Finally, the training proposal compromised between university, enterprise, and students is presented.

The purpose of our thesis is to research the Swedish telecommunication company, BISC’s potential on the Chinese market. We have used five different theoretical tools to examine the external and internal environment of the company; Pest analysis, a market analysis, a Porter’s five forces analysis, a firm’s resources and capabilities analysis, and a SWOT. All have been used to categorise and summarize the findings in the analyses. Our findings gave both positive and negative answers in terms of our research question: Should BISC enter the Chinese telecommunication market? The Pest analysis led us to conclude that BISC could potentially handle the macro environment of China well. The market analysis showed the astonishing market potential availability in the country. The Porter industry analysis gave a rather pessimistic outcome, with few customers and high entry barriers. The firm’s resources and capabilities analysis found several significant assets. The firm’s human capital, external network and financial health showed that the company is well equipped to potentially run a subsidiary within China. A SWOT summary of the analyses made us draw the conclusion that BISC’s hypothetical strengths and opportunities in China outweigh the hypothetical weaknesses and threats, while the high barriers of entry can be overcome with the internal resources of BISC. Our advice to BISC is, therefore: enter the Chinese telecommunication market.
