Infectious endophthalmitis is an important cause of vision loss worldwide. It is an inflammatory reaction caused by bacteria, fungi, and other micro-organisms and often occurs as a complication of intraocular surgery, especially following cataract surgery or intravitreal injection. The focus of the prevention and treatment of infectious endophthalmitis is the early detection of microbial flora, such as fungi or bacteria. Current identification methods for bacteria include Gram staining-based, culture-based, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based methods. The matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry technology is now the standard identification method of bacteria and fungi after their isolation in culture. The remarkable sensitivity of PCR technology for the direct detection of micro-organisms in clinical samples makes it particularly useful in culture-positive and culture-negative endophthalmitis. Furthermore, PCR increases the rate of microorganism detection in intraocular samples by 20% and can provide a microbiology diagnosis in approximately 44.7–100% of the culture-negative cases. This review aims to introduce the development of different methods for the detection and identification of micro-organisms causing endophthalmitis through a literature review; introduce the research status of the first, second, and third-generation sequencing technologies in infectious endophthalmitis; and understand the research status of endophthalmitis microbial flora. For slow-growing and rare micro-organisms, high-throughput sequencing (HTS) offers advantages over conventional methods and provides a basis for the identification of pathogens in endophthalmitis cases with negative culture. It is a reliable platform for the identification of pathogenic bacteria of infectious endophthalmitis in the future and provides a reference for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of infectious endophthalmitis. The application of HTS technology may also be transformative for clinical microbiology and represents an exciting future direction for the epidemiology of ocular infections.

With the rapid development of network information technology, various disciplines are also in rapid development. The appearance and the rapid development Computer-aided teaching in 1958 make mankind freed from the traditional way of teaching.Although the traditional CAI technology is maturing, there is still a huge development space on intersectional fields with the network technology. A typical example is to make use of network transmission function to realize the remote CAI control. This paper analyzes the CAI development status and describes the function and usage of CAI’s popular software PPT and Flash. The CAI hardware system is analyzed. The principle and usage of the projector are introduced. On this basis, the remote CAI's plan is presented, and its use value is analyzed. The UDP protocol, core technology of remote CAI transmission, is verified and implemented.

The outcome of kidney transplants from unrelated live donors or from cadaver kidneys have been reported to be strongly influenced by HLA compatibility. Due to the difficulty of allocation of kidneys for identical HLA match, to increase patients' chances of receiving transplants, consequently, matching has been proposed of deduced amino acid residues of the individual HLA molecules shared by cross-reactive antigen groups (CREGs). Currently many hospitals in China use a serological method for HLA typing, some of them use DNA based technology for HLA typing. But most hospitals in China perform HLA matching manually. We have developed a database application system with a program which can quickly find the most suitable individuals in need of kidney transplants from the waiting list for an available donor. Besides 0-3 mismatch of HLA-A,B, and DR, the program works with a criteria of CREGs and permissible HLA-DR mismatch. We noticed some different definitions of CREGs in the literatures and some divergence of views about permissible mismatch concept, it is also our goal to evaluate above criteria with statistical clinical results. Our system also covers virtually all aspects to meet the requirements of most hospitals' urological departments. Its features include patient information management, various statistical reports, and so on. Currently it is in use at two famous hospitals in China.

This paper describes a nasal surgical simulator that we have designed and implemented to run on the WWW using VRML and Java. In this paper we concentrate on implementation details such as collision detection and the usage of our simulator. At last, we discuss the advantage and disadvantave of the simulator.

A method of the syntactic pattern recognition for the ECG arrhythmia analysis is described. An ECG trace in the fon of digital data is converted into a string of some specific symbols. And a context-free grammar is established for each kind of arrhythmias. If the noise threshold is appropriate, the error-free Earley algorithm can be used for the parsing of the string, and give a good discrimination between the arrhythmias. The method can keep the information of ECG structure and reduce the necessary storage.
