In the scientific literature, the link between an idea and its source is its reference information that allows the source to be identified and located. Not so obvious is where the source is cited in the text. Although authors are given extensive details on how to format references, they are not always taught when to cite them. Further, many are not vigilant in confirming the accuracy of the quoted information against the source or in verifying the associated reference information. In fact, discrepancies between the information cited in the text and the information actually presented in the source are common and often serious. Further, inaccuracies in references that break the link between the citation and its source are even more common. These discrepancies and inaccuracies affect the integrity of science and the validity of the citation metrics (for example, the Journal Impact Factor) that are used, rightly or wrongly, to evaluate the importance of journals and authors. Here, I discuss factors affecting when and where sources should be cited. I also consider factors that can bias the selection of sources and so interfere with the validity of citation analyses, review some considerations for evaluating a source, call attention to citation and quotation error rates, and review some strategies for reducing these errors. Finally, I summarise the most common recommendations for when, what, where, and why sources should or should not be cited.

Controlling complexity through the use of abstractions is a critical part of problem solving in programming. Thus, becoming proficient with procedural and data abstraction through the use of user-defined functions is important. Properly using functions for abstraction involves a number of other core concepts, such as parameter passing, scope and references, which are known to be difficult. Therefore, this paper aims to study students’ proficiency with these core concepts, and students’ ability to apply procedural and data abstraction to solve problems. We collected data from two years of an introductory Python course, both from a questionnaire and from two lab assignments. The data shows that students had difficulties with the core concepts, and a number of issues solving problems with abstraction. We also investigate the impact of using a visualization tool when teaching the core concepts.

In the work designed, developed and implemented a cross-platform application for retrieving information from the repository, displaying it correctly, generating a description of references in various styles, as well as for opening a document in a cross-platform application. The MS Windows 11 operating system, the Dart programming language and the Flutter framework were used in the development. The optimization of the program was ensured by using the Flutter BloC architecture, it allowed to structure the code, separate the interface from the logic and visually describe the operation of the program depending on various states. The input data is information about the scientific work in the repository, the user's request in the search field is in the form of a link. The result of the work is: a list of processed links, a description of references in different styles, a document of a scientific work, a link for opening in a browser. Instructions containing all the necessary information about the main aspects of the application have been added to the cross-platform application. A page was also created where users can get the necessary help or report problems with the application. The application was tested on devices based o-n the Android 11 operating system and above, devices based on the iOS operating system, and a web browser. To run on an Android-based device, you need to install an apk file and run the app, to run on an iOS-based device, you need to install the app using any development environment. To run in a web browser, you will need to run from the development environment. All these functions make the application relevant for use by students and teachers in the creation of scientific, diploma, and research works. And also to get acquainted with the latest research of colleagues in a large number of areas. The cross-platform application allows you to quickly and conveniently get all available information about work, as well as view the work itself on your device without using third-party programs.,

Citation studies are fundamental for the development of science, in which multidisciplinarity is present in most scientific research, making citation and reference key factors in the field of scientific communication. This work contextualizes an information network structure originated by data present in scientific production, such as authors, citations, relationships between authors and scientific works, aiming to constitute an information processing model that makes it possible to identify, extract and organize these data. of texts in Portuguese, based on ABNT standards. For this, a qualitative-quantitative methodology was used, in which a model was created using citation and reference concepts and later, a prototype was implemented as proof of concept of the elaborated model. Therefore, the study starts from the following problem: how is it possible to create indicators or carry out analyzes of citations and bibliographic references in general or specific segments, without depending on other entities, such as publishers and newspapers. Therefore, it is expected that, with the result of this research, it will be possible to propose a solution that is capable of identifying, extracting and organizing bibliographic references and citations of scientific documents in any segment, generating significant contributions to support the development of database analysis. and the construction of new solutions aimed at science, proposing a deep link with the data present in the research.

Treball Final de Grau en Mestre o Mestra d'Educació Primària. Codi: MP1040. Currently it is estimated that trans people represent between 0.3% and 0.5% of the total population. Based on the fact that, in Spain, in the year 2021/2022, approximately 2,795,481 children enrolled in primary education, it is estimated there are between 8,386 and 13,977 trans pupils. However, none of them is being represented as an identity in the educational curriculum. This results in a delay in the early detection of transsexuality in these students and in an increased risk of bullying and Mental Health problems in the future. The objective of this work is to show the lack of trans referents in the primary education stage, due, to a large extent, to the low or null compliance with the “Ley Orgánica 3/2020, de 29 de diciembre“ probably because of its ambiguity regarding diversity issues”. It is necessary to highlight the consequences of this, both in trans community individuals and the rest of society and raise awareness about the importance of the role played by the educational community and the educational system. For that purpose, taking my personal experience as a starting point, we have distributed a survey among groups of the trans community with the aim of collecting data that supports our hypotheses. In the same vein we interviewed 3 trans people in order to demonstrate that this lack of references entail some common pattern, resulting in a delay in the detection and acceptance of identity as well as a negative impact in terms of mental health and the way to experience life. Relatedly we interviewed a trans parent of a girl of primary school age with a view to find out the existing difficulties when educating and introducing a young child for the first time to subjects involving trans realities and thus be able to understand if this is a real impediment for which this regulation is not being complied with. Finally, we have interviewed a health professional to test our theory. Results obtained within this project have been resounding. Not only have they confirmed that, while there are resources and an instruction regarding their use in Primary School, it is not being fulfilled, but also the seriousness of this situation has also become evident since it directly impacts the mental health of transgender people as there is no early detection, but also, by not being prematurely exposed to this reality, prejudices take root and hate speech increases in society.

PREFERRED FORMAT FOR REFERENCES References made in the notes or in the text should, for the most part, conform to the American Sociological Association (ASA) Style Guide, 5th edition, including the author’s last name, the date of publication and the relevant page number(s), e.g. (Bodomo 2004:18-9).There should be a separate list of references at the end of the paper, but before any appendices, in which all and only items referred to in the text and the notes are listed in alphabetical order according to the surname of the first author. When the item is a book by a single author or a collection of articles with a single editor, give full bibliographical details in this order: name of author or editor, date of publication, title of the work, place of publication and publisher. Be absolutely sure that all names and titles are spelled correctly. Examples:Obeng, Samuel Gyasi. 2001. African Anthroponymy: An Ethnopragmatic and Morphophonological Study of Personal Names in Akan and Some African Societies. München: Lincom Europa.Ameka, Felix K., and Mary Esther Kropp Dakubu, eds. 2008. Aspect and Modality in Kwa Languages, Studies in Language Comparison Series. Amsterdam & Philadelphia: John Benjamins. If the book has more than one author or editor, they should all be given, the first appearing as above, the others with their first name or initial placed before the surname:Heine, Bernd and Derek Nurse, eds. 2000. African Languages, an Introduction. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. An article appearing in an edited book should be referenced under the author’s name, with the editor(s) and full details of the book and page numbers of the particular article. For example:Osam, E. Kweku. 1997. "Serial Verbs and Grammatical Relations in Akan." In Grammatical Relations: A Functionalist Perspective, edited by T Givón, 253-280. Amsterdam: John Benjamins. However, if you cite several articles from the same book you can give the full details just once, in a reference under the editor’s name, as the one for the book edited by Heine and Nurse above, and abbreviate the reference details for the specific article, as below: Bender, Lionel M. 2000. "Nilo-Saharan." Pp. 43–73 in African Languages: An Introduction, edited by B. Heine and D. Nurse. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. A journal article should be cited similarly to an article in an edited book. Note that the words ‘volume’, ‘number’ and ‘pages’ can be omitted, provided the correct punctuation is observed, as in the following: Amfo, Nana Aba Appiah. 2010. “Noun Phrase Conjunction in Akan: The Grammaticalization Path.” Pragmatics 20 (1):27-41. If the page numbering is continuous through all issues of the volume the ‘number’ itself can also be omitted:Bresnan, Joan and Sam A. Mchombo. 1987. “Topic, pronoun and agreement in Chichewa.” Language 13:741-82.Items in newspapers can be cited in the same way as journal articles. Unpublished papers will not have a place of publication or a publisher: simply add ‘ms’ (for ‘manuscript’), or the name and place of the meeting at which it was presented. The editors will be grateful if you do NOT format your paragraphs including hanging and indented paragraphs by using the Return or Enter key and indents and spaces – please use the paragraph formatting menu!

The purpose of research.Currently, the problem of plagiarism is quite relevant and affects the scientific and educational spheres. Thus, the experts of the Russian State Library have organized special research, and they are issuing a series of articles devoted to that activity. Within the framework of fighting plagiarism and other negative phenomena, it becomes necessary to highlight mostly wide-spread problems of reference-arrangement for research papers, and to outline possible solutions for them. We will consider this issue in the first article of the series.Materialsand methods. In order to achieve the aforementioned target the article uses the results of the plagiarism tests for research papers carried out by the Russian State Library with the help of specially designed software “Antiplagiat.RSL”.Results.The common defects of research papers are: inclusion of fictitious sources into the reference list, lack of homogeneity in reference arrangement, inadequate references to the groups of sources, quoting the derivative sources instead of the original one, spreading false information because of blind copying other researchers’ mistakes. Plagiarism tests carried out over scientific texts helped to identify the most frequent incorrect borrowings (overlapping wording of conclusions and generalizations, the same sentences used for describing results and methods, as well as word – for – word reproduced literature reviews). The documents revealed to become sources for such plagiaristic borrowings would often be works of research advisors and other authoritative specialists, candidate dissertation theses close in theme or structure, earlier publications of authors themselves, including those written in co-authorship.Conclusion.Numerous flaws are made by emerging authors due to the lack of knowledge, that is why students’ and post-graduates’ efficient training in work with GOST state standards as well as the quality of educational and methodological literature in research-paper writing would be of use. The article offers ways of improvement for research publication arrangement and specialized software products destined to make reference arrangement automatic.

Intertextuality is a common element in every audiovisual media. Sometimes it is used in a comical way, but it can also be used as a tribute or with the objective of recalling a memory, among others. Audiovisual intertextuality opens up an unlimited number of possibilities thanks to the crossover of characters and elements from other past, contemporary or even future works. This phenomenon is a constant in videogames, where we can find several kinds of cultural transfer. In this paper, we will analyze the videogame Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded, as it has many references and it is a good case study to see which are the main characteristics of intertextuality in entertainment software. We will take several examples with intertextual references and, using previous descriptive analysis, we will study their main characteristics and their distinctive features. This way, we will be able to see the differences with intertextuality in audiovisual and literary works, and we will find out in which way the translation process is different from one media to another.

Pelvic kidney is an important treatment challenge in pelvic malignancies. This study investigated the most appropriate treatment in the presence of simultaneous pelvic kidney in patients with rectal cancer. This study used computed tomography images of postoperative radiotherapy planning in a male patient with rectal cancer. Coplanar intensity-modulated, non-coplanar intensity-modulated, and volumetric-modulated arc radiotherapy rectal cancer planning was performed with six different scenarios based on tumor location and lymph node status; a dosimetric comparison was then performed. In a patient with rectal cancer and pelvic kidney, where the external iliac lymph nodes were not included in the radiation field, it was determined that, regardless of rectal tumor localization, optimal ?45 Gy radiotherapy planning could only be performed with the volumetric-modulated arc therapy technique. In the same scenario, optimal ?50.4 Gy radiotherapy planning could only be performed in a distally localized rectal tumor and with the volumetric-modulated arc therapy technique. In contrast, when the external iliac lymph nodes were included in the radiation field for the same patient, regardless of rectal tumor localization, no radiotherapy technique ?45 Gy could protect the pelvic kidney. In patients with locally advanced rectal cancer and pelvic kidney, oncologic treatment (either radiotherapy first or surgery first) should be decided based on the available radiotherapy technique, lymph node status of rectal cancer, and tumor localization. © 2020, Yuzuncu Yil Universitesi Tip Fakultesi. This chapter examines the use of evidence in legitimating national school reforms in a globalized context. Although international policy knowledge is becoming increasingly important in legitimating national school reforms, the national context still seems to affect whether and how it is used. This chapter draws attention to the selective use of international policy knowledge in domestic policy agendas and the increasingly important role of people and institutions acting as intermediaries in selecting, interpreting, and presenting useful policy knowledge to politicians. By taking the complexity of context seriously, this chapter provides valuable insights into the multidirectional policy process that filters the expert knowledge that is ultimately used by politicians as evidence in legitimating school reforms.

Some of these initiatives include journals just by filling out a form or registering the journal on the system's site, and others require a more complex procedure that implies that the journal complies with a series of quality characteristics in the management of processes. editorials and published content. However, the Journals in most cases do not review and assume that they meet all the criteria, which is why a tool is required that allows editors to assess their processes. The prototype of the platform that is proposed in this project focuses on two fundamental aspects, the first is related to linking the published works with other research through the proper use and traceability of the references used, and the second in aspects of visibility. As they are areas of greater publication and citation of the Journal, likewise, an institutional relationship map will be generated in accordance with the cited references, in order to control aspects such as institutional inbreeding or inbreeding of authors., Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educación

Analyses and applications based on bibliographic references are of ever increasing importance. However, reference linking methods described in the literature are only able to link around half of the references in papers. To improve the quality of reference linking in large scholarly data sets, we propose a blocking-based reference linking approach that utilizes a rich set of reference fields (title, author, journal, year, etc.) and is independent of a target collection of paper records to be linked to. We evaluate our approach on a corpus of 300,000 references. Relative to the original data, we achieve a 90% increase in papers linked through references, a five-fold increase in bibliographic coupling, and a nine-fold increase in in-text citations covered. The newly established links are of high quality (85% F1).

This chapter focuses on government-appointed advisory commissions in Norway and Sweden and investigates how and to what extent their respective governments use the evidence produced in these commissions for education policymaking. Drawing on the concepts of network governance and multi-centric policymaking, it compares reference patterns (a) between Green Papers (GPs) and White Papers (WPs) and (b) between Norwegian and Swedish GPs. The results show that the WPs produced by the ministries share strikingly few references with the GPs produced by their appointed commissions. An in-depth analysis of the references which “made” it to the political level demonstrates how knowledge gets lost, rebalanced, or reinterpreted in the policy process. This chapter situates the findings within discussions on the changing role of advisory commissions in today’s policymaking.

Time-progressing expressions, i.e., expressions that compute to different values over time such as Brouwerian choice sequences or reference cells, are a common feature in many frameworks. For type theories to support such elements, they usually employ sheaf models. In this paper, we provide a general framework in the form of an extensional type theory incorporating various time-progressing elements along with a general possible-worlds forcing interpretation parameterized by modalities. The modalities can, in turn, be instantiated with topological spaces of bars, leading to a general sheaf model. This parameterized construction allows us to capture a distinction between theories that are "agnostic", i.e., compatible with classical reasoning in the sense that classical axioms can be validated, and those that are "intuitionistic", i.e., incompatible with classical reasoning in the sense that classical axioms can be proven false. This distinction is made via properties of the modalities selected to model the theory and consequently via the space of bars instantiating the modalities. We further identify a class of time-progressing elements that allows deriving "intuitionistic" theories that include not only choice sequences but also simpler operators, namely reference cells., LIPIcs, Vol. 228, 7th International Conference on Formal Structures for Computation and Deduction (FSCD 2022), pages 10:1-10:23

This thesis project has been an investigation of the summer house phenomena, both from an historical point of view - the background and history of summer houses - looking at the emergence of the culture, their architectural programmatic experience, how they’ve change over time, as well as looking into specific reference projects, both for inspiration and clarity - some older houses, and others that are more modern. In addition to the research, and as the main part of the thesis project I have aimed to design a new small summer house of my own, to be placed on the small island in Mälaren where my family's current house is situated and where I have grown up, by using the knowledge I’ve gathered and the inspiration I have come across in order to create a project different from the one that is there today.

PREFERRED FORMAT FOR REFERENCES References made in the notes or in the text should, for the most part, conform to the American Sociological Association (ASA) Style Guide, 5th edition, including the author’s last name, the date of publication and the relevant page number(s), e.g. (Bodomo 2004:18-9). There should be a separate list of references at the end of the paper, but before any appendices, in which all and only items referred to in the text and the notes are listed in alphabetical order according to the surname of the first author. When the item is a book by a single author or a collection of articles with a single editor, give full bibliographical details in this order: name of author or editor, date of publication, title of the work, place of publication and publisher. Be absolutely sure that all names and titles are spelled correctly. Examples: Obeng, Samuel Gyasi. 2001. African Anthroponymy: An Ethnopragmatic and Morphophonological Study of Personal Names in Akan and Some African Societies. München: Lincom Europa. Ameka, Felix K., and Mary Esther Kropp Dakubu, eds. 2008. Aspect and Modality in Kwa Languages, Studies in Language Comparison Series. Amsterdam & Philadelphia: John Benjamins. If the book has more than one author or editor, they should all be given, the first appearing as above, the others with their first name or initial placed before the surname: Heine, Bernd and Derek Nurse, eds. 2000. African Languages, an Introduction. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. An article appearing in an edited book should be referenced under the author’s name, with the editor(s) and full details of the book and page numbers of the particular article. For example: Osam, E. Kweku. 1997. "Serial Verbs and Grammatical Relations in Akan." In Grammatical Relations: A Functionalist Perspective, edited by T Givón, 253-280. Amsterdam: John Benjamins. However, if you cite several articles from the same book, you can give the full details just once, in a reference under the editor’s name, as the one for the book edited by Heine and Nurse above, and abbreviate the reference details for the specific article, as below: Bender, Lionel M. If the page numbering is continuous through all issues of the volume the ‘number’ itself can also be omitted: Bresnan, Joan and Sam A. Mchombo. 1987. “Topic, pronoun and agreement in Chichewa.” Language 13:741-82. Items in newspapers can be cited in the same way as journal articles.

In this paper, a specific solution to the second-order cosmological perturbation theory is given. Perturbations are performed around any Friedmann–Lemaître–Robertson–Walker spacetime filled with dust and with a positive cosmological constant. In particular, with a possibly non-vanishing spatial curvature. The adopted symmetry condition allows us to simplify the equations, leaving us with a great deal of freedom to choose the density distribution. In the result, we get a relatively simple metric of an inhomogeneous cosmological model, which will give a perfect tool for studying the influence of the local inhomogeneities onto the cosmological observables.

This case reports on the successful maternal to fetal transfer of neutralizing antibodies after vaccination with BNT162b2 in a pregnant woman at 25 weeks of gestation. The levels of neutralizing antibodies were approximately 5-fold higher in the umbilical cord than in the maternal blood while the level of total antibodies showed only a 2-fold increase. This suggest that the antibodies that crossed the syncytiotrophoblast cell barrier have specific characteristics that correlate to functional neutralizing capacity. Although pregnant and lactating women have been excluded from clinical trials for several reasons including ethical concerns about fetal exposure, accumulating evidence has now revealed that these vaccines are safe and efficient for both the fetus and the woman. Vaccination against COVID-19 in pregnancy is vital to control disease burden and to decrease morbidity in the ante-, peri- and post-natal periods. Inclusion of pregnant women in research programs for the development of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines should be mandatory to provide this population with the equitable benefits of vaccine research.

Objective: Accumulating evidence indicates that social networking sites play an increasingly important role in young people’s drinking behavior. The present study adds to this research by assessing the conditionality of the relationships between exposure to and self-sharing of alcohol-related content on social media and adolescents’ drinking behavior. Specifically, the moderating role of the five-factor model of personality is determined. Method: A cross-sectional survey study was conducted among 866 mid-adolescents (Msubsample = 14.85 years, SD = 0.71, 57.5% girls). Polynomial regression analysis with response surface modeling was used to test the interactions. Results: Exposure, but not self-sharing, was directly associated with more alcohol consumption. However, it appeared that the act of sharing was more important than the frequency of sharing. Next, the relationship between exposure and consumption was not found to be moderated by personality. In contrast, there were significant linear and nonlinear interactions between self-sharing and all five personality traits. Individuals who are predisposed to engage in more alcohol consumption experience a stronger association between self-sharing and their drinking behavior. Conclusions: Social media can play a role in adolescents’ drinking behavior, but this role is partially dependent on temperamental predispositions. ispartof: Journal Of Studies On Alcohol And Drugs vol:80 issue:6 pages:631-640 ispartof: location:United States status: published

A textbook plays an important factor in teaching and learning processes. Thus, this study attempted to analyze an English textbook entitled Bahasa Inggris Bahasa Inggris SMA/MA SMK/MAK Kelas X which is used by almost teachers in secondary level education. This study used qualitative study by using Biocchi’s (2000) coursebook evaluation and interview which was adopted open-ended questions from Biocchi’s (2000) coursebook evaluation. The analysis encircled the contents, grammar, levels of the material, kind of the materials, and the methodology used in the textbook. The results revealed that this textbook was well designed and encouraged students’ autonomy to learn and use the language. Besides, this textbook achieved Biocchi’s (2000) coursebook evaluation (contents, grammar focus, level, material, and methodology) well. Although this book is good enough, there is a weakness; it is not provided by CD for listening activity, so the teachers have to find and create their own audio.

Although peer review is considered one of the main pillars of modern science, experimental methods and protocols seem to be not a rigorous subject of this process in many papers. Commercial equipment, test kits, labeling kits, previously published concepts, and standard protocols are often considered to be not worth a detailed description or validation. Even more disturbing is the extremely biased citation behavior in this context, which sometimes leads to surrogate citations to avoid low-impact journals, preprints, or to indicate traditional practices. This article describes some of these surprising habits and suggests some measures to avoid the most unpleasant effects, which in the long term may undermine the credibility of science as a whole.

The cosmopolitan subfamily Acidocerinae (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae) is one of the largest and most taxonomically challenging lineages of water scavenger beetles. Recent phylogenetic studies have substantially advanced our understanding of acidocerine relationships but also illuminated the twin challenges of poorly delineated generic concepts and a classification broadly incompatible with the phylogeny. Here, these two challenges are addressed by providing a comprehensive synthesis and taxonomic tools for the Acidocerinae, including (1) a brief history and the current state of acidocerine classification, (2) a review of acidocerine ecology and collection methods, (3) the current knowledge of larval and fossil acidocerines, (4) a morphological primer on characters of taxonomic and systematic importance within the lineage, (5) a key to the world genera of Acidocerinae, (6) diagnoses, habitus, and aedeagal images, distribution maps, and summary of knowledge for each of the 23 extant genera in the subfamily, and (7) a complete annotated taxonomic catalog including the published distributions, synonyms, and references for all described 541 acidocerine species recognized as of 1 April 2021. The advent of the 1990s marked, among other things, the restructuring of the Muslim world in its relation to Islam. This new context has proved to be extremely favorable to the emergence of scholars who define themselves as reformists or modernists. They have dedicated themselves to reform in Islam based on the values of peace, human rights, and secular governance. One can find an example of this approach in the works of renowned intellectuals such as Farid Esack, Mohamed Talbi, or Mohamed Arkoun, to name a few. However, the question of Islamic reform has been debated during the 19th and 20th centuries. This article aims to comprehend the historical evolution of contemporary reformist thinkers in the scientific field. The literature surrounding these intellectuals is based primarily on content analysis. These approaches share a type of reading that focuses on the interaction and codetermination of religious interpretations rather than on the relationships and social dynamics that constitute them. Despite these contributions, it seems vital to question this contemporary thinking differently: what influence does the context of post-Islamism have on the emergence of this intellectual trend? What connections does it have with the social sciences and humanities? How did it evolve historically? In this context, the researchers will analyze co-citations in representative samples to illustrate the theoretical framework in which these intellectuals are located, and its evolution. Using selected cases, this process will help us to both underline the empowerment of contemporary Islamic thought and the formation of a real corpus of works seeking to reform Islam.

The overall goal of my research is to highlight the social and relational depth of references and citations in scientific evidence that, far from being mere indicators of productivity and visibility of research, are also an expression of scientific sociability. Because they boost the social and intellectual research, references and citations are the possible vector for transformation of scientific community. Based on a corpus of 32 articles from a chemistry laboratory in Toulouse and with interviews with their authors, I analyze the references of three of them as an opportunity for authors, to boost their relations with collectives to whom they claim to belong or they oppose through these references. I continue by showing that the networks of references of each publication are embedded in a universe of references (all citations that references of the article have generated in the SCI-Thomson Reuters, before and after its publication) that they partly contribute to create.

Fans and fandoms are ever more salient aspects of our everyday lives offline and linked to the Internet's growing influence also online, particularly on social media. While fans have generally been pathologized via mass media but also early academic representations especially prior to the founding of the interdisciplinary Fan Studies in the 1970s/1980s, which sought to actively counter negative fan representations and foreground fans' creative productivity, nowadays, even though many types of fans have been 'mainstreamed' and are generally accepted, specific fan types are still systematically discriminated against - even within Fan Studies - along the lines of socio-demographic variables. These marginalised fans are predominantly female, young, queer and non-white. Moreover, even though Fan Studies define fan identity as one of their focal concerns, linguistic research on fan identity, particularly regarding its narrative and interactive construction, has widely been neglected. However, as narrative interaction and specifically small stories (as propsed within the small story paradigm by Bamberg & Georgakopoulou, 2007/8) have been found to play a very important role in the construction of identity, the investigation of how fan identity is constructed via small stories and - given the centrality of collective fandoms for fans - specifically shared (group) stories can severely contribute to fan (identity) research. Thus, combining decidedly linguistic research on narrative fan identity construction and the inclusion of previously marginalised fan communities, this thesis focuses on the construction of fan identity of Taylor Swift fans (Swifties) - a predominantly female and young fandom that has been ridiculed by mass media and dominant discourses - via shared stories. More specifically this study analyses the construction of Swiftie fan identity via shared stories both online in nicknames on Tumblr and Twitter and face to face in the form of a positioning analysis investigating the interactions of a Zoom focus group made up of five German Swifties. This research finds that within Swiftie nicknames Swiftie fan identity is centrally constructed by means of variously highly condensed, combined and/or personalised references (to shared stories of the overarching Swiftie community). The focus group interactions then reveal various positioning practices that are strongly intertwined with (often) more elaborate shared stories, which are 'shared' by the Swiftie participants both with regards to experiences on the story level and their interactive co-construction on the level of interaction. Despite their diverging local manifestations both within the investigated Swiftie nicknames and focus group interactions shared stories are centrally utilised to construct and communicate Swiftie fan identity as a particularly collectively experienced and defined ingroup identity that confers belonging and further functions as a shield against outgroup discrimination. Further research should then enlarge the present investigative focus to include also other online platforms and fan communicative acts, supplementary and also offline implemented focus groups and field studies, more heterogenous participants with regard to often neglected socio-demographic variables (next to age and gender) as well as other (marginalised) fandoms outside of the Swiftie community.

The following nomenclatural acts are proposed to bring the phylogeny and classification into alignment: Colossochares gen. nov. is established to accommodate two African species previously described as Helochares (s. str.); Novochares gen. nov. is newly established to accommodate 15 Neotropical species previously included in Helochares (s. str.); the remaining Helochares subgenera Helocharimorphus Kuwert syn. nov. and Hydrobaticus MacLeay syn. nov. are synonymized with Helochares Mulsant. Peltochares Régimbart sensu nov. is redefined to include eight Old World species previously included in Helochares (s. str.). A lectotype is designated for Peltochares conspicuus Régimbart, the type species of the genus. The taxonomic and morphological circumscription of Helochares sensu nov. is narrowed and redefined.

References medikamentu biežā mainība ir liela problēma. Klienti tomēr vēlas rast iespēju ar kompensējamo recepti iegādāties sev zināmu un vēlamu ražotāju medikamentus., On April 1, 2020, the procedure for prescribing reimbursable medicines in Latvia was changed, which is regulated by Cabinet Regulation No. 899 - a doctor indicates an active substance in a prescription instead of a specific name, pharmacies from the same effect and dose of medicinal products shall issue reimbursable medicinal products at the lowest (reference) price. The topicality of the work is determined by the problematic situations in the work of pharmacists and customer satisfaction related to the amendments to the Cabinet Regulations. The aim of the study: to find out the opinion of Latvian pharmacists and citizens about the amendments to the Cabinet Regulations. A questionnaire survey was carried out. As a result of the work, it was concluded: the daily work of pharmaceutical specialists has become more complicated. The frequent variability of reference medicines is a major problem. Customers want to be able to buy medicines from well-known and desirable manufacturers with a reimbursable prescription.

- Subjects
The article analyzes the function of “reference” - intertextual references and their role in creating a holistic cycle of fantasy stories and presents the diverse views of the scientific community on the terminological affiliation of references. It is hypothesized that references as a kind of intertextual elements perform the function of vocations between the works of one author, in particular, the article shows the classification of kinds of references in the stories of Nicki Callen. It is shown that references are elements of internal intertextuality, but they are not simple references to another text, but increase the share of "reality" of a work with repeated onyms to denote "through" characters, locations, artifacts that intertwine with each other. and resonate. It is argued that the use of references contributes to the creation of multiple worlds that are part of a single Multiverse, depicted by the author. It is shown that certified references make it possible to create a communicative situation in which fiction is combined with the existing reality of the reader, which brings a possible, parallel world to "ours". They are recognizable and saturated with the energy of intertextuality, a kind of information hubs - distributors of information, by analogy with computer technology. Identity is determined by onyms: Nicki Callen's poetonyms, combined with real for the reader anthroponyms, horonyms, astonyms, etc., as well as with precedent phenomena - artionyms (names of works of art) and anthroponyms - precedent names. The change in the level of "reality" determines the transition of onyms from one category to another: an anthroponym becomes a poetonym or a mythonym, a choronym from a fictional, a fairy-tale becomes real (eg, Menillen). Further research into fantasy works, in particular by Nicki Cullen, with a distinction between "parallel worlds" and "multiple worlds", is promising. To the parallel we belong exactly those that fit the heretical concept: one plot with many points of branching options, to multiple - different worlds.,

The TMT Early-Career Initiative (TECI) is an innovative, evolving program designed to support inclusion in the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) International Observatory (TIO) by engaging graduate students and postdocs in TIO projects, and preparing them with skills required to contribute to the project and advance in their careers. TECI has an annual cycle that begins with a workshop that includes project management, instrument design, and teamwork sessions, and engages participants in projects that could lead to visits and new collaborations. Project teams are led by the participants themselves, who consult with a member of the relevant technical team or project staff. In this paper we describe the components of TECI, our approach to designing it, and outcomes from our early piloting in 2016-17, as well as our first full program in 2018-19., Observatory Operations: Strategies, Processes, and Systems VIII, December 14-18, 2020, Online Only, United States, Series: Proceedings of SPIE
