The evolution of Building Information Modelling (BIM) is transforming practice in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. BIM provided revolutionary ways of generating, visualizing, exchanging, predicting and monitoring information. Over the last decade, delivering sustainable projects has become a high priority along with the recognition of the role the BIM plays to improve efficiency. However, BIM-enabled sustainability practices are still relatively immature and inconsistent. Previous research has identified challenges in the delivery of green-rated buildings, that include: dealing with documentation, evidencing requirements, monitoring progress, and decision making. Limited studies focused on linking workflow obstacles of green projects to potential improvements using current BIM capabilities. Through interrogating existing research via a systematic literature review, this paper takes the original approach of constructing an 'analysis map' to 'bridge the gap' and highlight current limitations and successes between BIM and sustainability practices. The findings are formulated through two parallel investigation tracks: the first is design task/BIM capability analysis, and the second is green project delivery problem/BIM enabled sustainability application. This research highlights future potential investigation areas, which are categorized into six clusters: representation; performance simulation; transaction and exchange; documentation; automation and standardization and guidance. Abstract The development of low cost, non-fluorous, CO 2 -philic materials such as sugar acetates have opened up new opportunities for enabling the utilization of liquid and supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO 2) as a green solvent platform for industrial processes by virtue of the high solubility of these materials in CO 2. In the present work, we report the sizing of paper surface with sucrose octaacetate (SOA) using this alternative solvent system. Characterization of the bare and sized paper samples has been carried out using spectroscopic and surface imaging techniques. The studies reveal a smooth and uniform coating of the surface with SOA. Contact angle measurements and sorption studies show that the SOA-coated paper surface is hydrophobic. The mechanical properties of the SOA-coated paper are observed to be superior to that of the uncoated one. Background: The consumption of 'fast fashion', which is expedited by costeffective e-commerce systems, represents one of the major factors contributing to the acceleration of climate change. An emerging approach to steer consumers in the direction of more sustainable purchase decisions is digital nudging. This paper explores digital nudging in the context of green fashion e-commerce by testing the effectiveness of two nudging strategies on the decision to choose green fashion products (GFP) over regular fashion items. Method: This study was conducted as a between-subject online experiment (n=320) with four conditions simulating an e-commerce scenario. The participants were presented with different products: one was ecologically friendly, and another was the regular option. Depending on their randomized group allocation, the participants experienced a default nudge, a social norm nudge, a combination of both strategies, or no nudge. In addition, we conducted 10 qualitative interviews to gain a deeper understanding of consumers' decision process. Results: Our experiment failed to demonstrate statistically significant relationships between the various nudging strategies and GFP purchase decisions. However, additional explorative analyzes confirmed a backfire effect for the combination of nudging strategies. This reveals the previously overlooked influence of participants' identification on the effectiveness of digital nudging strategies. In addition, qualitative interviews revealed individual factors that influence sustainable e-commerce purchase decisions. Conclusion: This study contributes to information systems research by explaining the differences in the effectiveness of different nudging strategies regarding highinvolvement compared to low-involvement products. Moreover, it provides empirical evidence of a backfire effect resulting from a combination of digital nudging strategies (i.e., digital nudge stacking). Breakthrough research may signal shifts in science, technology, and innovation systems. Early identification of breakthrough research is important not only for scientists, but also for policy makers and R&D experts in developing R&D strategies and allocating R&D resources. Researchers mostly use scientific papers data to identify potential breakthrough research, but they rarely make use of Twitter data related to scientific research and machine learning methods. Analysis of Twitter data is of great significance for us to understand the public's perception of potential breakthrough research and to identify potential breakthrough research. Machine learning methods can assist us in predicting the trend of events by utilizing prior knowledge and experience. Therefore, this paper proposes a framework for identifying potential breakthrough research using machine learning methods with scientific papers and Twitter data. We select solar cells as a case study to verify the valid and flexible of this framework. In this case, we use machine learning method to discover potential breakthrough research from scientific papers, and we use Twitter data mining to analyze Twitter users' sense of and response to the discovered potential breakthrough research, which aims to achieve a more extensive and diverse assessment of the discovered potential breakthrough research. The forest tree had become beneficial as the major source of raw materials for paper production. However, the main concern is the dwindling forest tree resources. Fibre substitution from non-wood sources can overcome this problem. The abundance of napier grass is characterized as agro waste material, and has a high potential to become one of the substitution fibres. The objective of this work was to analyse the chemical composition of napier grass and to investigate the morphological properties of napier grass fibre. The chemical composition of the fibre was analysed by the TAPPI test method, chlorination method and Kuchner-Hoffner method. The results indicate the potential of napier grass as a fibre. The napier grass morphology showed a condensed composition of fibre structure under a scanning electron microscope. The sustainable evolution of international transport corridors is imperative to meet the dual challenges of growing global transportation demands and pressing environmental concerns. This paper delves into the potential of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) as a transformative tool to achieve the green objectives set for international transport corridors. In light of increasingly prominent environmental issues, inspiring green supply chain (GSC) members to engage in collaborative innovation is crucial to improve environmental performance. In this paper, in relation to a two-level GSC consisting of manufacturers and suppliers, differential equations involving the greenness of intermediate and final products as state variables are constructed considering the effect of digital capability on green innovation. Subsequently, designs for three incentive mechanisms—the greenness reward, the R&D effort reward, and the digital construction reward—are presented, and their long-term dynamic effects on the economic, environmental, and social benefits are compared and analyzed. Finally, the impacts of consumer green preference and the contribution of digital capability to the advancement of green innovation are explored. The findings show that all these incentives can boost economic, environmental, and social benefits while motivating the supplier. To achieve the best incentive effect, the reward coefficient should fall within a specific range. The digital construction reward mechanism is the most favourable in the initial stage, while the R&D effort reward mechanism is the most appropriate in the long term. Driven by a technological transition, paradigms such as Lean, Green, and Circular Economy are increasingly being addressed by manufacturers to provide increasingly complex solutions. Whether considering products or services, design plays a decisive role in this context. Concurrent engineering and approaches to Design for X (DFX) have become commonly related to products and services, revealing the prominent potential to enhance product quality, improve sustainability performance, increase consumer satisfaction, and support the design of products, processes, and systems. However, many researchers have developed several DFX techniques with modified applications for different domains. This diversity makes it hard for practitioners and researchers when considering advanced technologies, to suit the current DFX with an integrated lean, green, and circular design perspective. In this regard, this paper aims to present a literature analysis concerning a potential model for the integration of four paradigms of management: lean, green, circular economy, and Industry 4.0 while considering DFX approaches. As a result, a framework that illustrates the connection between the fourth paradigm considered and the DFX approaches is presented. Nowadays the improvement of environmental performances is one of aims of innovation in factories, to implement the sustainable development. For the achievement of the environmental goals, a firm can follow Green Innovation, namely developing environmentally friendly products and processes. In spite of the interest on Green Innovation, the progress towards the Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, at halfway, is insufficient. In searching for solutions probably the complexity of introducing Green Innovation in factories is an issue. The aim of the paper is to show the complexity of innovation management by a real case: the pretests of new inorganic binders in a ferrous foundry. After a brief description of the Green Casting project case is considered by showing all the activities and entities involved. Finally, the results are discussed, and possible future developments are drawn. Results will show that development of project management tools and new technologies for training could be useful. In the context of climate change, innovative financing solutions and the rapid development of financial technology (fintech) offer great potential for the growth of renewable energy. Based on panel data from 30 provinces in China, this paper explores the impact of fintech on renewable energy growth by employing the instrumental variable-generalized method of moments (IV-GMM). We also pay attention to the nexus between fintech and renewable energy growth at different quantiles. This paper also explores the moderating role of the digital economy and the mediating role of green technological innovation. The main results indicate that (1) fintech positively affects renewable energy growth in China; (2) the positive effect between fintech and renewable energy is stronger in provinces with lower levels of renewable energy growth; (3) the digital economy, on the one hand, can significantly accelerate renewable energy growth; on the other hand, under the help of the digital economy, fintech can play a more effective role in increasing renewable energy growth; and (4) fintech indirectly promotes renewable energy growth by increasing the level of green technology innovation. Automated machine learning (AutoML) strives for the automatic configuration of machine learning algorithms and their composition into an overall (software) solution -- a machine learning pipeline -- tailored to the learning task (dataset) at hand. Over the last decade, AutoML has developed into an independent research field with hundreds of contributions. At the same time, AutoML is being criticized for its high resource consumption as many approaches rely on the (costly) evaluation of many machine learning pipelines, as well as the expensive large-scale experiments across many datasets and approaches. In the spirit of recent work on Green AI, this paper proposes Green AutoML, a paradigm to make the whole AutoML process more environmentally friendly. Therefore, we first elaborate on how to quantify the environmental footprint of an AutoML tool. Afterward, different strategies on how to design and benchmark an AutoML tool w.r.t. their "greenness", i.e., sustainability, are summarized. Finally, we elaborate on how to be transparent about the environmental footprint and what kind of research incentives could direct the community in a more sustainable AutoML research direction. Mitigating carbon emissions and waste, along with economic objectives, are the major concerns for businesses and industries today. Current studies have underlined the requirement to shift the company from entrepreneur to ecopreneur with three goals, i.e., social, economic, and environmental sustainability. This paper investigates an economic order quantity model for deteriorating items with partial backordering on integrating the factors that affect the environment and society. Carbon emissions linked to operational activities of inventory can be reduced with the help of investment in green technology. Deterioration is controlled here with the help of investment in preservation technology. Dumping of waste without the proper mechanism has a hazardous effect on society. So, the cost is also included in this study to adopt the appropriate means to dispose of the wastage. Here, imprecise demand with selling price and advertisement cost-dependent demand is considered. This paper provides some theoretical results related to the concavity of the objective function and solution algorithm to obtain the optimal values of decision variables. A numerical analysis is presented to validate the model. Concavity is demonstrated graphically by considering the decision variables in a pair. Results indicate that as the capital investment in preservation technology rises from 3 to 8 units, around 83% and 90% declines in deterioration rate and disposable cost are observed, respectively. Due to the investment in preservation technology, the disposable cost reduces and profit increases to a certain level. A decline of 4% in carbon footprints is observed due to enhancing the investment in green technology by 33%. Corporate environmental responsibility and green technological innovation, as two major driving forces for green development, deserves more theoretical discussion. This paper systematically analyzed the nonlinear relationship between corporate environmental responsibility and green technological innovation by utilizing the 5084 observations from a sample of Chinese A-share listed companies (2011–2020). The results show that: (1) There is indeed a U-shaped nonlinear relationship between corporate environmental responsibility and green technological innovation, with this influence is more prominent in the corporate environmental responsibility - green technological innovation quantity nexus. (2) All mediating effects in this article have been proved and also exhibit a better performance in mediating between corporate environmental responsibility and green technology innovation quantity. (3) The baseline relationship in our research has significant enterprise ownership, market competition, and policy uncertainty heterogeneity. For enterprises whose products need to be frozen and refrigerated transportation, the selection of green cold chain logistics service providers is one of the indispensable links, cold chain logistics service providers are involved in many different levels, so how to reasonably select cold chain logistics service providers is particularly critical. In this paper, the evaluation criteria system of green cold chain logistics service providers is established from five dimensions: cold chain logistics service quality, cold chain logistics service cost, cold chain logistics service capability, cold chain logistics green competitiveness and cold chain logistics enterprise management status. Combined weighting method based on minimum information discrimination principle, including BWM method and CRITIC method to determine comprehensive weight, avoids the limitation of single weighting method to determine index weight. Aiming at the randomness and fuzziness in the evaluation process of green cold chain logistics providers, a cloud model evaluation method of cold chain logistics providers is proposed. The case study shows that the proposed combined weighting method overcomes the one-sidedness of the single weighting method and improves the rationality of the weights. The cloud model evaluation method of cold chain logistics suppliers proposed in this paper is helpful to deal with the randomness and fuzziness in the process of weight combination, and improve the effectiveness and scientific rationality of the weight combination results. "Carbon Peaking" and "Carbon Neutralization" is the strategic direction and key period in the current stage of ecologic civilization construction. Green finance refers to making the financial industry a guide and supervisor of other industries. Green finance will help other industries save energy and reduce emissions to achieve "Carbon Peaking" and "Carbon Neutralization" at an early date. This paper takes Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Guizhou and Xinjiang provinces, which were approved as green finance reform pilot zones in 2017, as examples, and uses synthetic control method to study the constraint effect of the local carbon emissions in pilot zones. The results show that Guizhou has the best emission constraint effect. Jiangxi Province has a certain degree of emission constraint effect. Zhejiang, Guangdong and Xinjiang have no emission constraint effect. The following placebo test results show that the experiment is stable and robust. By combining the actual pilot zones policy schemes and experimental results of the five provinces, this paper concludes that the main reason for the differences in emission constraint effects of the five pilot zones are the differences in the policy selection and the different characteristics of the provinces. The green bond market shows good potential to help mobilize financial sources towards sustainable investments. Green bonds are similar to conventional bonds but are specifically created to raise money to finance climate or other environmental projects. The relevance of the paper is underpinned by mixed evidence on the existence of 'greenium in various corporate bond markets and lack of a clear understanding of the green bond yields' determinants. The objective of the paper is to explore the existence and determinants of greenium in Europe. Our sample included 3,851 green and conventional bonds in the European debt markets over the period from 2007 to 2021. The results showed that the climate corporate bonds in Europe are priced at discount to the same-risk conventional corporate bonds. The magnitude of greenium in whole European green bond market was around 4 bps. However, we did not find the significant greenium in the green bond markets of the UK, France, Netherlands, and Germany. Purpose - The green building (GB) maintenance industry has been under increasing pressure by designers to demonstrate its evaluation and information management of building information modelling based model checking (BMC) to the competency's performance and design knowledge of building control instrument. This main problem has been termed as maintenance planning level. Although maintenance planning has been explored in GB maintenance environments, less is known about what maintenance planning problems currently exist and what their causes are, such as the recent fire in the Grenfell Tower (14 June 2017, about 80 fatalities) in North Kensington, West London. The aim of this paper is to identify how GB maintenance environments could integrate BMC within their processes. The purpose of this study is to assess the BMC technology management of GB maintenance ecosystem and that of a soft skills level to establish the impact of innovation policy features on database and safety risk function mechanism. Design/methodology/approach - To achieve this aim, a comprehensive literature review of the existing conceptualisation of BMC practices is reviewed and the main features of Information and Communication Technology tools and techniques currently being employed on such GB maintenance ecosystem is carried out to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the previous studies. The conceptual framework explores the importance of integration of BMC in the construction phase to identify alternative methods in the automation system (AS) process to co-generate, monitor and optimise BMC. Findings - The results confirm that BMC tool positively influences database application and risk mechanism of construction project safety while agreeableness negatively does. Besides, database application has a negative influence on innovation policy of company towards BMC implementation. Propositions derived not only shed light on guidance for future research on the soft skills of construction organisations, but also provide decision-making support through a better understanding of the factors affecting soft skills level amongst biggest construction companies. Originality/value - Thus far, this study advances the knowledge about how GB maintenance environments can ensure BMC delivery. Linguistic intuitionistic variables (LIVs), allowing decision makers to employ linguistic variables to express their qualitative positive and negative judgments, are powerful for denoting qualitative information. Considering the advantages of LIVs, this paper develops a new group decision-making (GDM) method with linguistic intuitionistic fuzzy preference relations (LIFPRs) and researches its utilization to choose the best green cold chain logistics partner. To achieve this goal, a definition for multiplicatively consistent LIFPRs is first offered. Then, an algorithm to determine missing linguistic variables is provided, and optimization for adjusting inconsistent judgments is built. In addition, a similarity measure-based consensus index is offered, which is adopted to improve the consensus level. After that, an algorithm for GDM with LIFPRs is provided. Finally, a case study for green cold chain logistics partner selection is performed to testify the application of the new method, and a comparative discussion is conducted to highlight the feasibility. With the proposal of sustainable development goals, the world has placed increasing emphasis on energy transition and green, low-carbon initiatives, leading to the emergence of green technology. This article explores the spillover effects among green technology innovation (GTI), oil prices (OP), clean energy (CE), sustainable development (SD), and economic cycles (EC) with the time-varying parameter vector autoregression (TVP-VAR) connectedness method. The empirical results demonstrate that, in static analysis, the short-term connectedness is significantly stronger than that in the long term. SD serves as the main transmitter, while EC acts as the primary receiver. Furthermore, dynamic analysis suggests that spillover effects fluctuate with time and frequency. Finally, the net direction and net pairwise connectedness reveal that GTI is favorable for mitigating OP shocks and accelerating EC in the long term, while it is driven by CE and SD in the short term. The contribution of this paper lies in its incorporation of GTI, energy markets, economic cycles, and SD into a unified framework, and its detailed analysis of the channels of influence. Also, based on a time-frequency domain perspective, the paper dynamically examines the different performances of specific markets in the short or long term. Finally, the paper proposes some policy recommendations, including the strengthening of green technology innovation and the acceleration of energy transition. • The connectedness among GTI, OP, CE, SD and GLI are presented. • Spillover effects are more significant in the short term. • GTI accepts the spillover effects of ESG and CEI in the short term. • OP and CLI exert dynamic influence on GTI in the long term. The green use of urban land has become a key for the sustainable transformation of resource-based cities. This paper selects 116 Chinese resource-based cities to construct an evaluation system for urban green land use and measure its efficiency. Secondly, it identifies driving factors affecting urban green land use efficiency (UGLUE) and comprehensively analyze the heterogeneity of these factors. The important findings of this paper include: (1) The UGLUE of resource-based cities in China has experienced a trend of first fluctuating and then improving. However, there are obvious regional differences. The UGLUE in the eastern and western regions are higher than those in the central and northeastern regions. (2) Industrial upgrading, financial development and technological innovation are key factors affecting UGLUE in resource-based cities. (3) There is significant heterogeneity in the impact of different factors in different city types, different regions and different time periods. The land use in resource-based cities should transform from blind expansion in pursuit of short-term economic benefits to a green development that pursues the coordination of economic, social, and ecological benefits based on the local conditions. This article analyzes the subject of wearables and Sustainable Development (SD) in the scientific literature and is an attempt to present possible implications for Green Jobs (GJs) and the green labor market. There is a growing trend toward purchasing new wearable devices among consumers, which are more and more interested in the SD. These devices combine the functions of many other devices using smart technology and connectivity. They can communicate with other wearables or equipment, such as vehicles, machines, and buildings. Wearables have a wide range of applications. They allow monitoring of vital functions, and behavior, display information, improve communication, help to plan daily activities, and aid decision-making. Therefore, these devices are becoming increasingly important in daily life and business. Wearable technology uses the Internet of Things (IoT) and connectivity to synchronize data between devices. From a scientific perspective, it is interesting to explore how wearables are related to the SD in transitioning the economy toward green economy areas. The main goal of this article is to demonstrate the relevance of wearables to SD in scientific literature. Additionally, this paper aims to outline future implications for GJs, green self-employment, green competencies, and the green labor market. The method adopted in this study was a bibliometric review conducted in the Scopus database with the VOSviewer software support. The results are presented in the form of bibliometric maps and keyword tables. Finance is the core of modern economy, and a strong country cannot do without the support of financial system. With the rapid development of economy and society, the traditional financial services can not support the increasingly large and complex economic system. As a brand-new format, financial technology can help the financial industry to restructure and upgrade. At the same time, as an international consensus, green development is the only way for China to achieve sustainable development. Therefore, it is of great practical significance to study the impact of finance on the regional development of green finance. Based on the essence of green finance development, fuzzy principal component analysis is used to build the green finance evaluation index system in this paper. Taking the data of three provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Delta from 2015 to 2019 as an example, QAP analysis is used to study the impact of financial technology on the regional development of green finance. Research shows that explanatory variables are highly significant, that is, financial technology has a significant role in promoting green finance. Finally, based on the research conclusions, this paper puts forward suggestions on how green technology can better promote the development of green finance from three aspects of top-level design, technical research and supervision. The voices of young adults (15−24) ring faintly in the conversation around nature-based solutions (NBS), an absence that results in a lack of both procedural and distributive justice in the provision of such solutions. NBS clearly shape young adults — including their connections with nature, engagement in pro-environmental behaviours, and social and psychological health — but the dramatic reshaping of urban areas via rapid growth, densification, and technological innovation means today's young adults have fewer opportunities to benefit from NBS. In a potentially vicious cycle, this shortfall can result in a weakened sense of connection with nature, leading to less time spent in natural environments and fewer sustainable behaviours. Achieving justice for young adults requires understanding their preferences, clarifying relationships between NBS characteristics and use, and translating research into evidence-based design. This paper fills these gaps by summarising interdisciplinary knowledge regarding the impacts of contact with nature on the development and well-being of young adults; describing case studies conducted in formal parks located in Australia's largest cities of Sydney and Melbourne to clarify connections between our existing knowledge and the real-world provision of NBS; and applying these findings to develop an appraisal framework comprising three primary attributes — order, diversity, and seclusion and retreat — that supports the design and integration of urban greenspaces that uniquely benefit young adults' social development and mental health. Green and sustainable buildings have gained a lot of importance in recent years due to growing environmental concerns where developed and developing countries have their own evaluation systems and methods of qualifying green or sustainable construction. According to Egypt Vision 2030: Sustainable Development Strategy, Egypt's population is expected to increase significantly. Therefore, this will require an increase in the percentage of areas planned and built, resulting in more construction sites and land areas being used to cover this alarmingly rapid demographic increase. There is an urgent need to provide guidelines and strategies for the development of the construction sector as a catalyst for the green building, therefore effective decisions on the sustainable design of the building facility can be made only during the early design and pre-construction stages. Traditional planning and construction does not support the possibility of such early decisions. There is a lack of integration in design procedures leading to an ineffective process of previously changing the design to achieve a sustainable building-friendly environment So BIM represents a shift in the traditional process of delivering buildings, where the Green Building Information Model (BIM) is a data provider application to assess energy performance and sustainability. Although applications of information technologies (ITs) have made a substantial contribution in the form of economic benefits and new employment opportunities, rebound impacts such as increasing layoffs and electronic waste (e-waste) resulting from retired hardware and automation have occurred concurrently. This paper studies how climate change affects green technology innovation among enterprises from the perspective of attention to global warming. The results show that abnormal temperatures significantly inhibit the green technology innovation output of local enterprises. Our conclusion still holds after a series of robustness checks. This effect is more pronounced for nonstate-owned enterprises and manufacturing enterprises. Moreover, CSR and information opacity aggravate the inhibitory effect of abnormal temperatures on green innovation. We find that abnormal temperatures increase the short-term environmental protection investment of enterprises in a region, which has a crowding out effect on R&D investment and inhibits green innovation. This paper discusses the challenges of developing and using assessment rubrics for digital marking in higher education. As part of a curriculum review process, the rubrics were designed to provide raters with valid tools to assess higher-order-thinking skills in a taught postgraduate program. With the online/hybrid modes of teaching and learning imposed by the COVID-19 restrictions, this timely solution proved to be very useful in digital settings. Green development prioritizes ecology and sustainability and strengthens scientific and technological innovation to drive high-quality economic development. This paper constructs a coupled coordination model of a system evaluation index to explore the spatial and temporal pattern of green technology innovation and high-quality economic development. it also employs a Tobit regression model to analyse the influencing factors of coordinated development further. For this purpose, panel data on 30 Chinese provincial administrative regions were selected, ranging from 2010 to 2019. The results indicate that the level of coupling and coordination of green technology innovation with high-quality economic quality shows a steady upward trend and the evolution trend of "basic, moderate, and high coordination". At the same time, differences in coordinated development between regions are obvious, showing a development trend of "high in the east and low in the west". It is affected positively by the industrial structure, urbanization level, economic development level, R&D investment, foreign investment and education investment. The tourism industry plays an important role in the economic development of coastal urban agglomerations. Examining the influence of tourism industrial agglomeration on green innovation efficiency is vital for promoting sustainable development in coastal urban agglomerations. Nevertheless, there is limited evidence regarding this influence and its mechanism in the context of China. Based on the panel data covering 48 cities in coastal urban agglomerations in China from 2001 to 2021, this paper investigates the threshold effect of tourism industrial agglomeration on the green innovation efficiency of the tourism industry and the mechanism of tourism industrial structure upgrading via a dynamic panel threshold model and mediating effect model. The findings reveal an inverted U-shaped threshold effect of tourism industrial agglomeration on the green innovation efficiency of the tourism industry, which changes from positive effect to negative effect. Furthermore, tourism industrial structure upgrading partially mediates the threshold effect. Theoretically, this paper expands the understanding of the green innovation efficiency of the tourism industry from the perspective of agglomeration. Few sectors in the global economy need deep decarbonization as much as heavy industry, which is currently the largest and fastest growing source of global carbon emissions. Based on an original dataset of 111 expert interviews and 52 site visits, this paper asks: what sociotechnical pathways, capabilities, and regional innovation systems are emerging to support industrial decarbonization? It combines and applies insights from evolutionary economic geography and transitions studies, such as sociotechnical capabilities and learning, as well as spatial frameworks such as challenge-oriented regional innovation systems (CoRIS) and green industrial restructuring. It utilizes these collective concepts of pathways, capabilities and CoRIS to explore the organizational and technological, individual, and systems level dimensions of industrial decarbonization efforts ongoing across Great Britain. We find that within industrial net-zero clusters, spatial and technological proximities are being effectively leveraged, especially through new forms of networking, collaboration, and partnerships. CoRIS provides the basis for greater reflection on perennial transitions issues, both within and across clusters, related to incumbency and innovation, in addition to spotlighting emergent issues such as light versus deep green restructuring and incremental versus transformative change. In this paper, we examine the relationships among outward foreign direct investment (OFDI), the adoption of green technologies, and the generation of municipal waste among European Union countries from 2000 to 2022. This relationship is situated within the context of transitioning to green economies and theoretically aligns with the pollution haven and halo hypotheses, which suggest that engaging in FDI has environmental impacts. By employing FGLS (Feasible Generalized Least Squares) and PCSE (Panel Corrected Standard Errors) estimation techniques to ensure robust estimators, our findings indicate that OFDI contributes to a reduced generation of municipal waste, thereby filtering out companies that generate externalities and facilitating the transition to cleaner economies within the framework of green economies. This process can be further facilitated by the adoption of green technologies; however, the operationalization of the variable used in our estimation may not accurately reflect this relationship. To strengthen the progress made during this transition process, governments should promote policies that encourage the adoption of more sustainable processes and technologies, thereby reducing waste generation. In this paper, the abundant metal ions in the vermiculite-modified waste stream were utilized to prepare vermiculite-based hydrotalcite precursors, and hydrotalcite-like bimetallic catalysts were synthesized by the co-precipitation method and used in the methane dry reforming reaction. The experimental results showed that the Ni-Co/VMT-LDO catalyst showed good activity with 84% CH 4 conversion and 87% CO 2 conversion at 750 °C and 18000 mL/(g·h). The catalyst was characterized by XRD, SEM, BET, H 2 -TPR, TEM and TG. TEM tests before and after the reaction showed that the addition of Co decreased the average particle size of Ni. Meanwhile, thermogravimetric tests of the spent catalysts revealed that the weight loss of the bimetallic catalysts was significantly smaller than that of the monometallic catalysts, in which the Ni-Co/VMT-LDO showed better anti-carbon accumulation performance than the other two catalysts. This study not only solves the environmental problems caused by vermiculite modification, but also enhances the economic utilization of vermiculite. This paper investigates the impact of green technology innovations on carbon dioxide (CO 2) emissions based on a data panel covering 71 economies from 1996 to 2012. Specifically, we examine whether the level of income matters for the effect of green technology innovations. It is found that the impact of green technology innovations exists a single threshold effect regarding the income level. Specifically, green technology innovations do not significantly contribute to reducing CO 2 emissions for the economies whose income levels are below the threshold while the mitigation effect becomes significant for those whose income levels surpass the threshold. But the transition of regime occurs at an extremely high-income level. In addition, we find that the relationship between per capita CO 2 emissions and per capita GDP is inverted U-shaped, and urbanization level, industrial structure, trade openness, and energy consumption structure also significantly affect CO 2 emissions. Reducing the negative impact of agriculture on the environment is an essential issue. This requires the application of environmental and resource-saving technologies in agriculture, ensuring environmentally friendly development of rural areas, the implementation of eco-innovation projects, promotion of eco-innovation activities. The purpose of the paper is to assess the risks for the implementation of innovations from agricultural holdings and, on the basis of the identified types of risk, to outline strategic recommendations for overcoming them. The content of the article is structured as follows: 1) Literary review of the concept of eco-innovation and the risks associated with the application of eco-innovations in agriculture; 2) Methodological framework of the research; 3) Risk assessment in the implementation of eco-innovations from agricultural holdings. Well-crafted environmental policies lead to cleaner environments whilst encouraging innovative behaviour to stimulate green growth and 'win-wins' for the economy and the environment. Such win-win policies are increasingly sought out by policymakers, evidenced in the growing number of green 'new deals' and 'net zero' carbon emissions pledges at a national level. But there is a gap between the needs for environmental policy data and the supply of reliable indicators and indexes. This disconnect has negative consequences for policy feedback as well as the inducement of potential innovators of environmental technologies. While there are now a wide range of indicators and indexes, these largely remain inadequate for various reasons. This is disappointing considering the immense progress that has been made in machine learning and pattern discovery methods—methods that are already fully deployed in other research disciplines. Such automated techniques can limit human biases which currently plague the environmental indicator's scholarship. Against this backdrop, the main objective of this paper is to highlight how researchers can carefully collect these data and augment the effectiveness of environmental policy indicators. Green technology innovation capability is an important support for the realisation of Sustainable Development Goals, and it is of great significance to discuss the impact of green product imports on green technology innovation policy formulation in importing countries. Based on the panel data of 30 provincial-level regions in China from 2012 to 2020, this paper empirically examines the effect and mechanism of green product imports on green technology innovation. The empirical results show that (1) the import of green products significantly constrain China's green technology innovation. After a series of robustness tests and endogeneity tests, the conclusion is still valid, and the inhibitory effect is mainly manifested as the import technology dependence effect. (2) From the impact of green product imports on different types of green technology innovation, the inhibition effect of incremental-type green technology innovation with lower innovation is stronger than that of radical-type technology innovation with higher innovation. (3) Further test of the moderating effect shows that green R&D investment weakens the inhibitory effect of green product import in the regions with higher and lower economic development levels, while the moderating effect of intellectual property protection only exists in the regions with less economic development. (4) The heterogeneity analysis shows that the import of different types of green products has a significant difference in the impact of green technology innovation. This paper proposes that institutional investor ESG activism affects corporate green innovation through two attention mechanisms: intra - firm allocation of attention and inter - firm integration of attention. Using the attention-based view within an agency framework, we explore the moderating roles of media coverage and industrial chain relatedness in attention mechanisms, and whether such moderating effects differ in digital and non-digital firms. Using a dataset of 2726 Chinese listed firms from 2007 to 2021, we find that ESG activism by institutional investors enhances corporate green innovation, and media coverage strengthens this positive linkage. The positive moderating role of media coverage is more impactful in digital firms than in non-digital firms. An unexpected finding is that industrial chain relatedness negatively moderates the influence of ESG activism on green innovation, but this negative moderation is alleviated in digital firms. In the context of the current ecologicalization of social policies, the National Marine Ecological Civilization Construction Demonstration Zone led by the Chinese government is not only a carrier of marine ecological civilization construction, but also a test field for building a maritime power and promoting the sustainable development of the marine economy and society. This paper considers the establishment of the demonstration zones as a "quasi-natural experiment". Utilizing panel data from 53 prefecture-level and above cities in China from 2006 to 2020, a time‑varying difference‑in‑difference model is applied to examine whether this ecological policy can promote the elevation of green development levels of the marine economy, aiming to achieve a harmonious balance between "clear waters and green mountains" and "mountains of gold and silver". The results indicate that the establishment of the demonstration zones significantly enhances the level of green development of the marine economy. Technological innovation and industrial structure are identified as two crucial mechanisms influencing green development of the marine economy, both exhibiting positive mediating effects. The impact of the establishment of the demonstration zones on the promotion of green development of the marine economy is more pronounced in the East China coastal region and the Central-south coastal region compared to the North China and Northeast coastal regions. Additionally, this policy effectively stimulates green development of the marine economy in medium and small cities and non-resource-based cities. Finally, corresponding policy recommendations are proposed from the perspectives of differentiated strategies, industrial structure adjustments, and technological innovation mechanisms. We empirically investigate this impact by analyzing data from 316 cities in China spanning the period from 2011 to 2020, employing a difference-in-differences (DID) model. The study suggests a gradual improvement in the level of sustainable development in China. Moreover, green finance contributes to SDGs, and the conclusion is robust. Further investigation reveals that green finance improves sustainable development by fostering technological innovation. Heterogeneity results indicate that the influence is notably more pronounced in western regions and locales characterized by stringent environmental regulations. Urban land green use efficiency (ULGUE) is a vital component of urban sustainability and resilience. However, imbalanced ULGUE can undermine these goals. Collaborative innovation has emerged as a promising approach to address this pressing challenge, yet its impact on the inter-city ULGUE gap remains largely underexplored. This paper aims to fill this gap by proposing a theoretical framework of collaborative innovation affecting the ULGUE gap. To validate this framework, we devised a comprehensive evaluation index of the ULGUE gap based on the core-periphery theory and employed a system generalized method of moments model (Sys-GMM) and a threshold model to analyze a sample of 19 urban agglomerations in China. Our study uncovers several vital insights. Collaborative innovation significantly diminishes the ULGUE gap within urban agglomerations, exhibiting a double-threshold effect in this relationship. The threshold values are 1.5821 and 2.0246, respectively, allowing us to categorize urban agglomerations into three stages based on their collaborative innovation levels. Besides, government intervention can mitigate the effects of collaborative innovation on the inter-city ULGUE gap, potentially delaying the trend of the narrowing ULGUE gap. In recent years, information and communication technology (ICT) innovation has been an essential part of China's strategy for achieving low carbon and improving carbon emission efficiency (CEE). This research innovatively calculates ICT innovation indexes for 30 Chinese regions and 12 ICT innovation indexes from 2007 to 2019 across 30 regions in China. Based on this, this study investigates how ICT innovation affects CEE from a digital technology innovation perspective by applying the system-generalized method of moments (SYS-GMM) dynamic technique. This study also explores the mediating effect of industrial structure upgrading and R&D intensity and the threshold effect of human capital. The results show that ICT innovation facilitates CEE improvement, with High-speed network and Large-capacity and high-speed storage technologies being the main contributors to green technology. ICT innovation indirectly improves the CEE level by enhancing the industrial structure and R&D intensity. Additionally, the impact of ICT innovation on CEE tends to grow when human capital quality rises. Nowadays, the capability to remotely monitor indoor and outdoor environments would allow to reduce energy consumption and improve the overall management and users' experience of network application systems. The most known solutions adopting remote control are related to domotics (e.g., smart homes and industry 4.0 applications). An important stimulus for the development of such smart approaches is the growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and the increasing investment in the development of green houses, buildings, and, in general, heterogeneous environments. While the benefits for the humans and the environment are evident, a pervasive adoption and distribution of remote monitoring solutions are hindered by the following issue: modeling, designing, prototyping, and further developing the remote applications and underlying architecture require a certain amount of time. This paper emphasises the long-term historical trajectories of marine resource use in the Philippines through an examination of successive environmental fixes. Based on fieldwork from coastal Mindoro province, the paper shows how the technological intensification and geographical expansion of fisheries, the development of aquaculture and the promotion of tourism represent three forms of environmental fixes that aim to address the problems caused by marine resource declines and subsequent lack of availability of means of production. All three fixes have struggled to reduce environmental pressure or provide a long-term basis for livelihoods. The paper argues that viewing how successive types of environmental fixes unfold over long periods of time highlights how marine resource declines are part of much wider economic and historical processes, with consequent implications for livelihoods and governance. Innovation is the fundamental force to drive economic and social development, green technological innovation is the key driving force to achieve the development of low-carbon economic and enhance the efficiency of natural resources. With a panel data between 2001 and 2015, this paper applies the stochastic frontier analysis on the impact of green technological innovation on natural resources utilization efficiency taking high-tech industries as the research object, and analyzes the influence factors of natural resources utilization efficiency. The empirical result shows that under green technological innovation, the level of natural resources utilization efficiency is relatively higher and the change trend is increasing. Besides, green technology introduction funds and green new product development funds play a significant positive role on natural resources utilization efficiency, while green technology transformation funds and technological staff have the negative effect. Finally, policy suggestions about improving natural resources utilization efficiency are put forward. This paper makes an empirical study on the theoretical relationship between green technology innovation and natural resource utilization efficiency, clarifies the mechanism of green technological innovation on the efficiency of natural resource utilization based on the stochastic frontier analysis method, and analyzes the positive and negative factors of green technological innovation. The results can help to select the optimal innovation behavior to create the conditions of rational use of natural resources and realize economic development and environmental protection. The smart city emerges as an innovation-driven strategy to achieve green development. While a large body of existing literature has assessed the environmental performance of the smart city, rarely does literature investigate the effect of smart city on green technological innovation, an essential part of and path to green development. This paper analyzes the impact of the smart city on green technological innovation through the Multi-period DID approach, using a dataset of Chinese prefecture-level cities from 2003 to 2016. The baseline results show that smart city can promote green technological innovation. The heterogeneous tests show that the smart city's green technological innovation effects are heterogeneous by geographic location, urban population size, economic development level, and information facilities infrastructure. Moreover, the paper explores the role of green technological innovation as an essential mechanism of the other aspects of green development. The mediating effect analyses show that smart city can promote urban industry structure upgrading and green efficiency through green technological innovation. • Smart city can stimulate green technological innovation as a part of green development performance. • Smart city's green technological innovation effects are heterogeneous by cities' characteristics. • Smart city can achieve green efficiency improvement and industry structure upgrading via green technological innovation.
