Modern cloud services are monitored by numerous multidomain and multivendor monitoring tools, which generate massive numbers of alerts and events that are not actionable. These alerts usually carry isolated messages that are missing service contexts. Administrators become inundated with tickets caused by such alert events when they are routed directly to incident management systems. Noisy alerts increase the risk of crucial warnings going undetected and leading to service outages. One of the feasible ways to cope with the above problems involves revealing the correlations behind a large number of alerts and then aggregating the related alerts according to their correlations. Based on these guidelines, AlertInsight, a framework for alert event reduction, is proposed in this paper. In AlertInsight, the correlations among event sources are found by mining a sequence of historical events. Then, event correlation knowledge is employed to build an online detector targeting the correlated events that are hidden in the event stream. Finally, the correlated events are aggregated into a single high-level event for alert reduction. Because of theweaknesses of the commonly used pairwise correlation analysis methods in complex environments, an innovative approach for multiple correlation mining, which overcomes computational complexity challenges by scanning panoramic views of historical episodes from the perspective of holism, is proposed in this paper. In addition, a neural network-based correlated event detector that can learn the event correlation knowledge generated from correlation mining and then detect the correlated events in a sequence online is proposed. Experiments are conducted to test the effectiveness of AlertInsight. The experimental results (precision=0.92, recall=0.93, and F1-score=0.93) demonstrate the performance of AlertInsight for the recognition of multiple correlated alerts and its competence for alert reduction. PRESERVATION of paper art ,GUIDELINES ,PRINTING ,PHOTOGRAPHY ,OXIDATION - Abstract
Tate is undertaking a major research project to assess the effects of anoxic storage on paper-based works of art. The outcomes will include: the design of a safe, affordable anoxic framing system suitable for both storage and display, capable of being incorporated into historic frames; guidelines on materials which would be harmed by anoxia and information on their recognition and behaviour. Such framing would provide safer access to paper-based works of art. This paper reviews the following materials found in paper-based works of art that are susceptible to oxidation and which could therefore benefit from anoxia: traditional colorants; modern pigments; graphic media; printing, copying or photographic processes; and oil or alkyd media. Materials, predominantly colorants, which may be susceptible to reducing reactions that proceed in the absence of oxygen, are identified for later study into their behaviour and their non-destructive identification on paper-based works of art. Despite the efforts to solve housing problems in developing countries, there are still several issues with providing affordable housing sustainably because of population density and high demand. Cooperative housing is a housing type that realizes affordability and quality of life based on cooperation among members. Although Egyptian cooperative housing relies on community participation, inefficient management and unaffordable units have halted Egypt's cooperative housing. Therefore, the State stimulates the cooperative's performance through subsidies and research to provide an effective system for integrated cooperative housing. The purpose of this study is to investigate and propose a framework for activating an integrated cooperative housing role to enhance residents' quality of life through an inclusive sustainable system. The research methodology is based on set of scientific research methods, using a theoretical approach to identify the relationship between cooperative housing and urban systems and to define the cooperatives as pivotal in sustainable urban development within a participatory framework. This research presents guidelines aimed at improving the concept of integrated cooperative housing. Furthermore, this research works on analytical approach by relying cooperative housing objectives with the international sustainable goals, the research analyzes various types of frameworks working on urban aspects at all building stages and non-urban aspects related to members' financial needs, environmental and socio-economic indicators. The paper focuses on monitoring and reporting performance through an integrated system on multidimensional aspects deduced from models' policies analyzed, with a particular emphasis on national and international frameworks. By enhancing national frame by merging SDGs, these guidelines aim to positively impact the Egyptian housing market, especially low-income housing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Agent-based modelling and simulation (ABMS), whether simple toy models or complex data-driven ones, is regularly applied in various domains to study the system-level patterns arising from individual behaviour and interactions. However, ABMS still faces diverse challenges such as modelling more representative agents or improving computational efficiency. Research shows that machine learning (ML) techniques, when used in ABMS can address such challenges. Yet, the ABMS literature is still marginally leveraging the benefits of ML. One reason is the vastness of the ML domain, which makes it difficult to choose the appropriate ML technique to overcome a specific modelling challenge. This paper aims to bring ML more within reach of the ABMS community. We first conduct a structured literature review to investigate how the ABMS process uses ML techniques. We focus specifically on articles where ML is applied for the structural specifications of models such as agent decision-making and behaviour, rather than just for analysing output data. Given that modelling challenges are mainly linked to the purpose a model aims to serve (e.g., behavioural accuracy is required for predictive models),we frame our analysis within different modelling purposes. Our results show that Reinforcement Learning algorithms may increase the accuracy of behavioural modelling. Moreover, Decision Trees, and Bayesian Networks are common techniques for data pre-processing of agent behaviour. Based on the literature review results, we propose guidelines for purposefully integrating ML in ABMS. We conclude that ML techniques are specifically fit for currently underrepresented modelling purposes of social learning and illustration; they can be used in a transparent and interpretable manner. INTERNET of things ,RESPONSIBILITY ,SECURITY management ,MANUFACTURING industries - Abstract
Internet of Things (IoT) security is an ongoing and challenging issue. Manufacturers and developers are usually seen as the ones responsible for providing security features for IoT devices. Yet, after the release of the devices and services, their security starts to depend on end users as well. End users have the ability to use various privacy and security controls implemented by providers, but they often are not given the needed guidance in clear and understandable terms to set and configure the security controls of their devices and systems. Unlike manufacturers who have access to many IoT security guidelines, recommendations, and requirements aimed at helping them produce secure devices, end users are rarely addressed in such documentation. In this paper, we explore the extent to which existing guidance documentation supports a shared responsibility model between manufacturers and end users for IoT security. Based on a comparative analysis of existing documentation, we provide several recommendations for improving the state-of-the-art. We argue that IoT security is a shared responsibility, hence, end users must be supported with official guidance, clear recommendations, and understandable instructions on how to stay secure in the IoT environment. Aim: To develop the first Ophthalmology joint guidelines with Paediatric Rheumatology with recommendations on the screening, monitoring and medical treatment of juvenile idiopathic arthritis-associated uveitis (JIA-U), endorsed by the Portuguese Society of Ophthalmology (SPO). Methods: A systematic literature review was conducted to include publications up to July 14th 2020, with no language restrictions, in order to include all the international position papers/guidelines concerning the medical management of JIA-U and randomised clinical trials assessing the efficacy and safety of medical treatment in this field. We searched through MEDLINE (PubMed), Scopus, Web of Science and Cochrane Library. The Delphi modified technique to generate consensus was used. Preliminary evidence statements were subject to an anonymous agreement assessment and discussion process using an online survey, followed by further discussion and update at a national meeting. A draft of the manuscript with all recommendations was then circulated among all participants and suggestions were incorporated. The final version was again circulated before publication. Results: Twenty-six recommendations were developed focusing on the following topics: general management (3), screening and follow-up of uveitis (4), treatment (17) and health education in JIA-U among patients and families (2). Conclusion: These guidelines were designed to support the shared medical management of patients with JIA-U and emphasize the need for a multidisciplinary approach between Ophthalmology and Paediatric Rheumatology regarding the comprehensive care of JIA-U. We acknowledge that updating these recommendations will be warranted in the future, as more evidence becomes available. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper analyzes the guidelines for systematic literature reviews in the Information Systems (IS) field based on 12 influential journal articles published from 2002 through 2018. The analysis indicates that there is heterogeneity among the selected articles in terms of defining the purposes of a literature review, but that in general there is homogeneity among the guidelines provided by various authors regarding conducting the review. The findings also highlight a temporal evolution of the guidelines, the emergence of critiques of too much systematization, and the proposal of new approaches for conducting literature reviews. The number of times the selected papers are cited each year increases with time, and the guidelines are cited in a diversity of fields, suggesting the existence of a growing interest in conducting systematic literature reviews among scholars in IS and other disciplines. The results of the analysis can help guide researchers from IS and other fields to understand not just the general best practices for conducting literature reviews, but also the emerging options available for generating a quality literature review paper. - Abstract
Mitral regurgitation (MR) is a common form of valvular heart disease that is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Treatment decisions are completely dependent on accurate diagnosis of both mechanism and severity of MR, which can be challenging and is often done incorrectly. Transthoracic echocardiography is the most commonly used imaging test for MR; transesophageal echocardiography is often needed to better define morphology and MR severity, and is essential for guiding transcatheter therapies for MR. Multidetector computed tomography has become the standard to assess whether transcatheter valve replacement is an option because of its ability to assess valve sizing, access, and potential left ventricular outflow tract obstruction. Finally, cine cardiac magnetic resonance has been recommended by recent guidelines to quantify MR severity when the distinction between moderate and severe MR is indeterminate by echocardiography. This paper focuses on the main questions to be answered by imaging techniques and illustrates some common tips, tricks, and pitfalls in the assessment of MR. [Display omitted] • What are the main questions to be answered by cardiac imaging? • What is the underlying evidence base? • What are the major tips, tricks, and pitfalls in assessing mitral regurgitation? • Increasingly, transnational rule-setting also occurs for the mining sector. • Provisions for the protection of water resources are not always included. • Water is mostly treated as a public health concern, sometimes as an economic good. • The cultural dimension of water resources often remains unacknowledged. • Newer certification schemes and guidelines tend to be more comprehensive. This paper investigates how different dimensions of water – water as a public health concern, as an essential prerequisite for producing livelihoods, and as a cultural heritage or an element of spiritual practice – are taken up in international guidelines and certification schemes for the extractive sector. As a notoriously water-intensive economic activity, mining frequently infringes on other forms of water use. Simultaneously, the legal articulations and governance implications of the hydrological aspects of mining are complex, as commercial interactions associated with mining span the globe, governance efforts occur primarily at the national level and negative externalities manifest locally. Increasingly, transnational initiatives play a role in setting rules and norms for 'responsible' or 'sustainable' mining. We assess to what extent these rules and norms take into account the hydrological implications of mining, looking at eight guideline documents and ten certification schemes for mineral extraction that originate from international organizations, corporate groups, or multi-stakeholder initiatives. We then illustrate the influence of transnational institutions in two cases, one in Mongolia and one in South Africa. Our results show that water as a public health concern receives the most attention while water as a cultural heritage is reflected the least. However, all institutions in our sample that were devised over the last two years refer to the different dimensions of water use comprehensively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PROBLEM solving ,TRIZ theory ,GUIDELINES ,MOTION pictures - Abstract
In this paper we propose a creative method to support ARIZ, a step-by-step method for problem solving invented by Altshuller in 1956. Specifically, we propose a new formulation of step zero, which deals with clarifying and verifying the problem statement. Since the birth of ARIZ, step zero has been continuously updated; ARIZ-56, ARIZ-59, ARIZ-61, ARIZ-64, ARIZ-65, ARIZ-68, ARIZ-71,ARIZ-75, ARIZ-77, ARIZ-82, and 3 versions of ARIZ-85 prove all attempts to balance convergent and divergent phases in order to change the perspective on the given problem, adding useful information from the market or the patents, igniting lateral thinking and overcoming psychological inertia. After Altshuller's death, ARIZ development has been continued by TRIZ masters and followers without establishing a reference model. This paper proposes a revision of two classical Altshuller's tools, the “multiscreen method” and “76 standard solutions” to be used in the problem formulation phase. The first one is called Film MakerTM and is a simple tool to manage the cause-effect relationship through the description of a film, i.e. a sequence of events. The second one is called “111 Standards” and is a structured elaboration of Altshuller's 76 standard solutions to systematically identify alternative partial solutions. A four step method containing these tools is presented together with an exemplary case. After more than 2 years experimentation within a project commissioned by the chamber of commerce of Bergamo, involving over than 30 companies, we discuss the results and efficacy of this approach [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The construction industry is one of the largest sectors in Sri Lanka. Since, there is rapid growth of new technologies in today's global market, there is a need to foster human skills and knowledge related to employment in the sector. However, the Sri Lankan construction industry is facing technical and managerial skill shortages as well as worker capacity issues. Further, the industry is facing industrial issues such as delivering timely project completion, within budget and for desired quality. 'Women in construction' has been a topic of concern by many nations, for many years. Given the rapid growth and demand in the construction sector, there has been an incremental increase in the participation of women in construction but this is still relatively minor when compared with other fields such as manufacturing, administration or academic. According to Sri Lankan vocational education reports, though there are around 40 percent of students enrolled in local technical colleges are female, over 70 percent of them are applying for nontechnical and culturally accepted feminine courses such as home science, dressmaking, beauty culture and secretarial courses. Aditionally, since gender differentiation occurs in local industries, women are significantly underrepresented in technical fields such as construction and there are observable social barriers to entry including the physical demands of construction work, male construction worker behavior and social stereotyping of construction as a male occupation. This paper examines the reasons for the limited participation rate of females in the construction sector. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract Water is essential in educational buildings as it serves several purposes, such as: drinking, cleaning, and construction work. Therefore, it is necessary to rationalize its consumption for its importance, as it is the core of the current water wealth and it is one of the most controversial issues in achieving the concept of sustainability. Egypt is facing a lot of problems and pressure on water supplies. Adopting water sustainability in schools is basically focused on reducing consumption, water collection, and water recycling. The paper tackles and highlights the sustainable methods, technique, and initiatives that are implemented in the internal and external design of school buildings, how to manage sustainable water in schools, in addition to an access to guidelines and recommendations on future proceedings for more sustainable schools. This research aims to provide easy-to-read guideline to facilitate the management of sustainable water in schools. It includes guidance on the application of sustainable water utilization and sustainable drainage, during the stages of school design and operation. The study discusses sustainable water management in some of the global schools in various areas of the world, where these schools have successfully adopted water efficiency and preservation standards and applied the criteria and measures of sustainability. - Abstract
Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) are an established research method to investigate the effects of an intervention. Several recent systematic reviews and meta-analyses of RCTs with homeopathic interventions have identified shortcomings in design, conduct, analysis, and reporting of trials. Guidelines for RCTs in homeopathic medicine are lacking. This paper aims to fill this gap in order to enhance the quality of RCTs in the field of homeopathy. Identification of the homeopathy-specific requirements for RCTs by reviewing literature and experts' communications. Systematization of the findings using a suitable checklist for planning, conducting, and reporting RCTs, namely the SPIRIT statement, and high-quality homeopathy RCTs as examples. Cross-checking of the created checklist with the RedHot-criteria, the PRECIS criteria, and a qualitative evaluation checklist. Consideration of the REFLECT statement and the ARRIVE Guidelines 2.0 for veterinary homeopathy. Recommendations for future implementation of RCTs in homeopathy are summarized in a checklist. Alongside, identified useful solutions to the issues encountered when designing and conducting homeopathy RCTs are presented. The formulated recommendations present guidelines additional to those in the SPIRIT checklist, on how to better plan, design, conduct, and report RCTs in homeopathy. • The recommendations provide systematic methodological guidance for homeopathic RCTs, espe. with individualized homeopathy. • Reflect on a precise research question, research design based on evidence and homeopathy-specific point by point guidance. • Evaluate the effectiveness of homeopathy in daily practice with the TwiCs design and/or reproducible HMP selection strategies,. • Consider replicating successfully conducted homeopathy RCTs including reproducible HMP selection strategies. • For quality assurance: usage of a university-based research infrastructure is essential for high quality homeopathic RCTs. - Abstract
• Rare indolent appendicular malignancy with late local recurrences and lung metastases. • Suspected vascular histogenesis linked to malignant angioblastoma and ameloblastoma. • Heterogeneous tumour presents challenges regarding diagnosis and treatment. • Primary resection with wide margins, reconstruction and MDT approach recommended. • Clinical management, surveillance and follow up guidelines not available. Adamantinoma is a rare primary low-grade malignant tumour of the appendicular skeleton most commonly found in the tibia. It has an indolent course, with local recurrences and lung metastases occurring over a protracted duration. There have been several suggestions pertaining to a vascular origin in the literature, however, histogenesis remains unclear. Currently, guidelines are not available pertaining to clinical management. This paper presents an overview of the current literature regarding this unusual malignancy. It also explores disease etiology and acknowledges the benefits and challenges of investigations pertaining to diagnosis. It recognizes a paucity of recommendations regarding appropriate surveillance and follow up. This review aims to assist clinicians in the building of a consensus opinion for optimal adamantinoma case management under current circumstances where formal guidelines do not exist. The concept of disaster management enables the appropriation of actions in complex and confusing disaster scenarios. In Egypt, the situation calls for the adoption of efficient disaster management policies which take into consideration the attentive allocation of resources to alternative and competing demands. The main aim of this paper is to investigate routes to a better management of disasters in Egypt. The discussion commences by defining and classifying disasters. The paper then focuses on investigating the concept of disaster management. Progressively, the discussion depicts the concept of ‘disaster management programs’. Having laid down the research foundation, the paper proceeds to numerate the different types of disasters to which Egypt is susceptible. This is accompanied by a general depiction of the problems affronting disaster management in Egypt. The paper strives to find solutions to the disaster management problem in Egypt by proposing a set of guidelines. Such guidelines are formulated in the trial to overcome the clearly undermined disaster management procedures in the country. In correspondence to such guidelines, the paper recommends the attentive study and examination of a particular set of considerations in order to ensure the sound implementation of the deduced guidelines. To give the discussion a practical sense, the paper applies its deduced guidelines and recommended considerations to an important disaster management activity; the provision of temporary settlements. The main goal is to demonstrate the applicability of the guidelines along with the recommended considerations in order to achieve beneficial outcomes on the economic, socio-cultural and ecologic multidisciplinary levels. - Abstract
Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID 19) had emerged as a global pandemic in recent times. The healthcare sector is at the epicentre of this unprecedented global pandemic challenge. Hospitals all over the world have reduced the number of non-emergency surgeries in order to utilise the staff and resources in a more efficient way. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) is most transmitted via respiratory droplets, but risk of transmission is hugely increased while doing aerosol generating procedures (AGPs). Laparoscopy remains the preferred surgical approach for most surgical indications. There is theoretical possibility of generation of aerosols contaminated with COVID-19 from leaked CO2 and smoke generation after energy device use. The aim of this paper is to review available evidence evaluating the risk of spread of COVID-19 during necessary laparoscopic procedures and to compile guidelines from relevant professional organizations to minimize this risk. - Abstract
Highlights • Case consisting of traumatic fracture in patient under bisphosphonates. • No MRONJ, so no pathological fracture. • No guidelines available for patients 'at risk'. • Best treatment avoids periosteal stripping. • Fixation using external fixation or locking reconstruction plate. Abstract Introduction Inspired by the presented case, this paper investigates treatment options for patients under active bisphosphonate therapy, suffering from a traumatic fracture in the absence of MRONJ (patients classified as 'at risk'). We review literature in search of standardized protocols and in combination. Presentation of case A 75-year-old woman, suffering from osteoporosis for over a decade and being treated with alendronate for about 10 years, stumbled and fell and ended up with a displaced fracture on the right side of her extremely atrophied mandible. Under general anesthesia, using a limited submandibular approach with minimal reflecting of the periosteum, an external fixation device was placed. The patient recovered well from surgery and was discharged after 2 days. Long term follow-up shows good healing with a mouth opening of 46 mm in the absence of any sensory of functional deficits. Discussion We conclude from our literature review that there are no clear guidelines regarding fixation of traumatic (non-pathologic) maxillofacial fractures in patients under active antiresorptive therapy. Literature suggests that damaging the periosteum needs to be avoided since this would endanger the already fragile blood supply in the area. This could make an intra-oral approach unfavourable. Conclusion We prefer an extra-oral approach whenever possible. The choice between the use of supraperiostally placed locking reconstruction plates or external fixation should be based on the overall medical condition of the patient, the regional osseous anatomy and the specific fracture morphology. This position paper, as developed by a Task Force of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain on Mandibular Advancement Oral Appliance Therapy for Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea, contains recommendations for dentists engaged in the management of patients with snoring and obstructive sleep apnea utilizing mandibular advancement oral appliances. The recommendations are supported by current scientific evidence, published standards and guidelines, and expert panel consensus. Snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) affects millions of people. Oral appliance therapy (OAT) is recognized as an effective therapy for many with primary snoring and mild to moderate OSA, as well as those with more severe OSA who cannot tolerate positive airway pressure (PAP) therapies. Dentists are playing a much larger role in the screening and management of patients with snoring and OSA as part of a multi-disciplinary team. It is also recognized that OAT has the potential to cause untoward side effects, including temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain and dysfunction. The present paper highlights the need for dentists who manage patients using mandibular advancement OAT to be competent in the assessment, diagnosis and management of temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) and craniofacial pain disorders. The authors of this article are all clinically engaged in the management of patients with snoring and OSA, and reached consensus based on their review of the current evidence, published guidelines and clinical experience. It is the opinion of the authors that dentists experienced and knowledgeable in the assessment, diagnosis and management of TMD and craniofacial pain applying this knowledge to the management of patients with snoring and OSA using OAT will provide their patients with the best prognosis and most successful treatment outcomes. Abstract: The technological option of capturing CO 2 from large point sources, compressing, transporting, and injecting it for long -term storage holds the potential for playing a key role in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while providing affordable energy. The oil and natur al gas industry experience and expertise provide confidence in carbon capture and geological storage (CCS) as an effective GHG emission mitigation option. However, companies need consistent, reliable, and credible methodologies to derive GHG emission and emission reduction estimates. Harmonizing the quantification of GHG emission reductions, by applying common principles and criteria, supports efficient and consistent development of additional project activities. This paper provides an overview of the P etroleum Industry Guidelines for Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Projects (referred to as the Project Guidelines), a collaborative effort between the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA) to develop guidelines for accounting and reporting of GHG emission reduction projects of interest to the oil and natural gas industry. Key concepts from the Project Guidelines for evaluating, quantifying, documenting, and reporting GHG emission reductions are presented with a specific focus on CCS activities. The paper draws from the Project Guidelines in add ressing the selection of appropriate baseline candidates, boundaries for scenario assessment, and compatible monitoring considerations. Case studies are used to demonstrate the application of commonly accepted emission reduction principles for CCS projects. Through the Project Guidelines, API and IPIECA aim to assist the petroleum industry in identifying, assessing, and developi ng CCS projects. By working toward consistent standards for GHG emissions reductions, our industry demonstrates its commitments toward environmental improvements and p romotes the development of real and sustainable actions to reduce GHG emissions. The Western Australian Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) in 2002 released Position Statement, No. 3, Terrestrial Biological Surveys as an Element of Biodiversity Protection outlining how terrestrial fauna survey data are to be used and interpreted in the preparation of environmental impact assessments (EIA). In 2004, the EPA released its Guidance for the Assessment of Environmental Factors, Terrestrial Fauna Surveys for Environmental Impact Assessment in Western Australia, No. 56. This paper briefly assesses the adequacy of recent terrestrial fauna surveys undertaken to support publicly released EIAs and indicates that the EPA is not always adhering to its own position and guidance statements. This paper argues that the current fauna survey guidelines are in need of improvement. The approach and requirements of some other Australian states are briefly assessed to identify similarities and where improvements can be made to the Western Australian (WA) guidelines. This paper concludes with suggestions on how the process and the guidelines in WA can be revised to more adequately assess the impact of developments on terrestrial vertebrate biodiversity and ecosystem function. These suggestions may have relevance for other areas where fauna surveys are undertaken to support EIAs. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Since its development in 2001, the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) Water Quality Index (WQI) has established itself as a valuable tool for communicating ambient water quality data. Due to the high natural background levels of particular parameters in water bodies throughout the country it is often necessary to use Site-Specific Water Quality Guidelines (SS-WQGs) as opposed to generic national Water Quality Guidelines (WQGs) or provincial Water Quality Objectives (WQOs) in the CCME WQI model to obtain truly representative rankings. SS-WQGs have only been developed for a limited number of ambient water quality sites and this has been a major hurdle to the widespread use and acceptance of the CCME WQI. This paper presents the adaptation and implementation of an existing CCME-approved SS-WQGs derivation method called the background concentration (BC) procedure into a Site-Specific Water Quality Index (SS-WQI) calculator and tool. It discusses the application of the SS-WQI calculator to compute water quality indices for five pristine ambient water quality sites in Newfoundland and Labrador. The effects of using five different BC-based SS-WQGs (mean; median; mean ± one standard deviation; mean ± two standard deviations; 90th and 10th percentile) are examined. The paper also discusses the challenges and benefits of using this methodology and provides recommendations for further testing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

There is a growing interest in clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) for all health care providers. As discussed in the first paper of this 2-part series, there are many misperceptions about guidelines and their potential risks and benefits. The dental profession in Canada, cognizant of both the importance and the challenges of developing sound, credible and relevant guidelines for dentists, has created a unique, autonomous collaboration of multiple stakeholders, the Canadian Collaboration on CPGs in Dentistry (CCCD). This paper discusses the history, structure and processes of the CCCD and introduces the first guideline under development by and for Canadian dentists. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Visually impaired people have the same information needs as sighted people. Just as sighted people might read a newspaper, listen to a CD or download electronic information from the Internet; visually impaired people also want access to relevant information in their chosen accessible format. Developing an efficient library service for print-disabled people is extremely important, because there are significantly fewer books available commercially in accessible formats compared to what is published in print for the general public. Libraries have a moral obligation to make information available to all categories of users regardless of their gender, age, race, political affiliation or disability. Till now library services for these persons were not adequate but the importance of making information accessible for visually impaired people is now realized by different sections. At present with the help of Information Technology (IT) it is possible to provide user friendly & adequate services for these people who are neglected for long time. IFLA have issued guidelines for development of library services to visually impaired. Governments of India and University Grants Commission have also issued guidelines in this regard. This paper describes the barriers faced by visually impaired, their information needs, highlights the special equipments and services that the libraries are expected to provide and provide suggestive guidelines for improving the library and information services to visually impaired. The business environment changes rapidly and needs to adapt to the enterprise business systems must be considered for new types of requirements to accept changes in the business strategies and processes. This raises new challenges that the traditional development approaches cannot always provide a complete solution in an efficient way. However, most of the current proposals for automatic generation are not devised to cope with rapid integration of the changes in the business requirement of end user (stakeholder’s and customer’s) resource. Domain-specific Rules constitute a key element for domain specific enterprise application, allowing configuration of changes, and management of the domain constraint within a domain. In this paper, we propose an approach to the development of an automatic generation of the domain-specific rules by using variability feature model and ontology definition of domain model concepts coming from Software product line engineering and Model Driven Architecture. We provide a process approach to generate a domain-specific rule based on the end user requirement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Indoor localization solutions are key enablers for next-generation indoor navigation and track and tracing solutions. As a result, an increasing number of different localization algorithms have been proposed and evaluated in scientific literature. However, many of these publications do not accurately substantiate the used evaluation methods. In particular, many authors utilize a different number of evaluation points, but they do not (i) analyze if the number of used evaluation points is sufficient to accurately evaluate the performance of their solutions and (ii) report on the uncertainty of the published results. To remedy this, this paper evaluates the influence of the selection of evaluation points. Based on statistical parameters such as the standard error of the mean value, an estimator is defined that can be used to quantitatively analyze the impact of the number of used evaluation points on the confidence interval of the mean value of the obtained results. This estimator is used to estimate the uncertainty of the presented accuracy results, and can be used to identify if more evaluations are required. To validate the proposed estimator, two different localization algorithms are evaluated in different testbeds and using different types of technology, showing that the number of required evaluation points does indeed vary significantly depending on the evaluated solution. Standardization is essential for automation. Extensibility, scalability, and reusability are important features for automation software that rely in the efficient modelling of the addressed systems. The work presented here is from the ongoing development of a methodology for semi-automatic ontology construction methodology from technical documents. The main aim of this work is to systematically check the consistency of technical documents and support the improvement of technical document consistency. The formalization of conceptual models and the subsequent writing of technical standards are simultaneously analyzed, and guidelines proposed for application to future technical standards. Three paradigms are discussed for the development of domain ontologies from technical documents, starting from the current state of the art, continuing with the intermediate method presented and used in this paper, and ending with the suggested paradigm for the future. The ISA88 Standard is taken as a representative case study. Linguistic techniques from the semi-automatic ontology construction methodology is applied to the ISA88 Standard and different modelling and standardization aspects that are worth sharing with the automation community is addressed. This study discusses different paradigms for developing and sharing conceptual models for the subsequent development of automation software, along with presenting the systematic consistency checking method. - Abstract
The present paper aims to provide experts' consensus on diagnosis and management of cow's milk protein allergy (CMPA) among infants and children in Turkey, based on review of available evidence-based guidelines, publications and experts' clinical experience. The experts agreed that CMPA diagnosis should be based on symptomatic evaluation and diagnostic elimination diet as followed by implementation of an open challenge test after disappearance of symptoms and confirmation of CMPA diagnosis in re-appearance of symptoms. For breastfed infants, differential diagnosis involves withdrawal of cow's milk-containing products from the mother's diet, while calcium supplements and appropriate dietary advice are given to mothers to prevent nutritional deficiency. For infants not breastfed exclusively, cow's milk-based formula and any complementary food containing cow's milk protein (CMP) should be avoided. The first line treatment should be extensively hydrolyzed formula (eHF) with use of amino acid-based formula (AAF) in severe cases such as anaphylaxis, enteropathy, eosinophilic esophagitis and food protein induced enterocolitis along with cases of multiple system involvement, multiple food allergies and intolerance to eHF. Introduction of supplementary foods should not be delayed in CMPA, while should be made one by one in small amounts and only after the infant is at least 17 weeks of age. Infants who are at-risk can be identified by family history of atopic disease. Exclusive breastfeeding for 4-6 months (17-27 weeks) is recommended as the best method of infant allergy prevention. There is no evidence that modifying the mother's diet during pregnancy and/or breast-feeding and delaying solid or even potentially allergic foods beyond 4-6 months in infants may be protective against allergy among at-risk infants. When exclusive breastfeeding is not possible, at-risk infants should get a partially or extensively hydrolyzed formula (pHF or eHF) to prevent allergy until risk evaluation by a health professional. In conclusion, the present consensus statement provides recommendations regarding diagnosis, prevention and management of CMPA in infants and children in Turkey, and thus expected to guide physicians to optimize their approach to CMPA and decrease burden of the disease on infants and their caregivers. The Business Process Modelling and Notation (BPMN) is a widely-accepted standard for process modelling, which can be used to model the clinical processes contained in guidelines. Computer systems based on guidelines need to embed these clinical processes, e.g. using a Computer-Interpretable Guideline (CIG) language. However, encoding guidelines in a CIG language is a difficult task which is usually performed by technical staff. Building on our previous work, the transformation-based refinement of guideline models, in this paper we describe an algorithm to transform BPMN models into the SDA CIG language. The use of BPMN has the potential to empower clinicians in the modelling task. In combination with the transformation algorithm, this can lead to an increased adoption of CIG languages, SDA and others. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We have developed an architecture model, MHP/RT, that is capable of simulating people's daily action selection processes as an implementation of the dual-process theory [1] . MHP/RT describes people's daily behavior as a cyclic process of action selection and memory formation. In our daily life, we spend a lot of time in interacting with artifacts, and therefore it is obvious that it should affect development of individual memory systems. At the same time, any particular artifacts that exist as they are should embed in themselves their own histories including their predecessors. Occasional innovations might have caused evolution of memory structure of mankind through people's interaction with the artifacts, and might have resulted in “splicing” evolution in the socio-cultural ecology. MHP/RT suggests that the cyclic processes should define strong constraints on sustainable innovation; as far as the cyclic processes function in utilizing an artifact implemented in a technological innovation, it should survive, otherwise it should fade away. This paper contrasts technique and skill, the two distinct forms of use of artifacts, and derives guidelines for designing sustainable artifacts that should support smooth development of people's skill necessary for using artifacts from their mere use via technique.
