Abstract

Abstract: This work presents a survey of LnMPnO materials crystallizing in the ZrCuSiAs structural archetype. Tabulated lattice parameter values for a number of LnMPnO compositions are presented along with atomic positions and bond lengths. Using this information a bond valence sum (BVS) analysis is carried out for these compositions. The lanthanoid BVS values agree quite well with Ln 3+ in all cases, however the BVS values for the M cations deviate considerably from the expected value of M 2+ if only ionic bonding were present. This deviation clearly indicates the covalent nature of M–Pn bonding in these materials and the significance of M–M interactions. The reported physical properties for these materials are also surveyed and arranged according to compositional M cation. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract

Aerial imagery is everywhere these days, but before World War I, the aerial view had been experienced by a tiny minority of individuals. Focusing on airborne adventures from Lunardi's first flight over British soil in 1784 to the Royal Flying Corps, this article uncovers the variety within aerial viewing. Aerial views are sometimes understood as inherently map-like and surveilliant, as if the airborne viewer always saw in a certain way. However, early balloonists and their passengers describe a London whose aspects could be revealed or disguised, elevated or debased, by different kinds of viewing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Circuit, the District Court was not able to determine if the district was in compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The Circuit Court ruled that the District Court failed to consider if the district already solved the systematic payment problems that started in 1995.
