Die bevorstehende Modernisierung des Schienenverkehrs wird sich auf die Zugsicherungs- und Signaltechnik auswirken, z. B. auf die Zugortung, die bordautonom und satellitenbasiert werden soll. Um schon in frühen Entwicklungsstadien Aussagen über die Verlässlichkeit eines solchen Systems treffen zu können, ist eine prospektive Risikoabschätzung auf funktionaler Ebene erforderlich. Durch Weiterentwicklung der PROFUND-Methode kann mithilfe einer petrinetzbasierten Modellierung und einer Monte-Carlo-Simulation eine quantitative Aussage über die Verlässlichkeit des Systems getroffen werden.

Um eine frühzeitige Funktionsanalyse und Fehlererkennung zu gewährleisten, wurde ein Ansatz für eine effiziente Erstellung eines funktionalen Modells für die GA entwickelt, mit dem ein GA-System simuliert, ausgelegt und konfiguriert werden kann. Dieser Ansatz wurde nun weiterentwickelt, um die Parameter aus dem Modell für die Inbetriebnahme, die online-Diagnose und die online-Anpassung des GA-Systems zu nutzen.

One of the most important trends in the automotive domain is the increasing automation of driving functionalities. Demonstrated functionality of all contributors in this field is steadily increasing. The development moves towards systems where the driver’s tasks are executed more and more by electronic systems. With increasing automation, the driver vanishes as central safety element. Thus, the driver’s contribution to overall vehicle safety must be implemented in electronic systems. In this contribution, the impact of vehicle actuation systems on functional safety of automated vehicles is examined. By understanding automated driving as a control problem, a systems theory based analysis systematically reveals generic malfunctional behavior related to steering, brakes, and drives. Furthermore, different aspects which must be considered for designing functionally safe actuation systems are presented.

The future of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) relies on a properly constructed Control Transportation System (CTS) based on a dynamically accurate localisation system. To ensure quality of the localisation system data-fusion algorithms are applied to enhance trueness and precision of the provided locations. But that quality is directly related to the accuracy of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver. Nowadays Global Position System (GPS) is not the functional GNSS system over Asia. Even though the second generation of China’s BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS), also known as COMPASS, is still under construction on a global coverage, it provides service since the beginning of 2013 to the Asia-Pacific region. Focusing on urban scenarios applications, this paper analyses the accuracy of BDS receivers to provide location for localisation systems in urban scenarios, comparing it with GPS and the combination of both in a Multi-GNSS system, using a Differential GNSS (DGNSS) as a reference for the accuracy results. From the accuracy limits results further reliability analysis by means of trueness and precision for tangential and perpendicular coordinates in the dynamic frame of vehicles were proposed. The results show that a circular error probable (CEP) approach is not a realistic representation of the dynamic behaviour of the receivers. So the new Mahalanobis Ellipses Filter (MEF) approach was tested and proven to be a better dynamic accuracy representation for land vehicles, making it the best approach to describe accuracy requirements for BDS-based urban land vehicle localisation systems for safety-relevant ITS.

With the proven general applicability of satellite based localization systems (GNSS) and satellite based augmentation systems (SBAS) the way is paved for safety relevant applications in railways. Secondary lines currently equipped with no or only a not up-to-date train control system as well as the currently introduced European train control system (ETCS) can benefit from satellite based train localization. Thus the efficiency of operation can be increased including the reduction of costs for infrastructure equipment.

ZusammenfassungIn der Praxis werden zur Durchführung von Zuverlässigkeits- und Sicherheitsanalysen, kurz RAMS-Analysen (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) verschiedene Beschreibungsmittel, Methoden und Softwarewerkzeuge eingesetzt. Mit Hilfe von Petrinetz-Modellen können jedoch alle vier Eigenschaften anhand nur eines einzigen Modells bewertet werden. In diesem Beitrag wird das Modellierungs- und -analysewerkzeug Π-Tool für stochastische Petrinetze präsentiert, welche hierfür mit seinen umfangreichen Modellierungs- und Analysefunktionalitäten eine hervorragende Möglichkeit anbietet.

In diesem Beitrag werden Algorithmen zur Approximation einer Lösung von Optimalsteuerungsproblemen (OSP) für hybride Systeme vorgeschlagen. Die Algorithmen eignen sich dabei für hybride OSPs unterschiedlicher Komplexität. Ein Beispiel für ein solches hybrides System stellen parallele Hybridfahrzeuge dar, die sowohl kontinuierliche Freiheitsgrade, als auch diskrete Freiheitsgrade aufweisen. Der kraftstoffoptimale Betrieb eines Hybridfahrzeuges kann daher als hybrides OSP formuliert werden. Die Anwendbarkeit der vorgeschlagenen Algorithmen wird anhand dieses Beispiels demonstriert.

AbstractThe 1999/31 Elemental Carbon Directive sets strict rules on the disposal of untreated municipal solid waste in the European Union countries and forces a reduction of the biodegradable quantities disposed off to landfills up to 35% of the amount produced in 1995 in the coming decade. More environmentally friendly waste management options shall be promoted under the framework of the Community Waste Strategy ([96] 399 Final). In this context, the production and thermal use of solid recovered fuels (SRFs), derived from nonhazardous bioresidues and mixed- and mono-waste streams, could be a key element in a future waste management system. Within the scope of the European Demonstration Project, RECO-FUEL, SRF cocombustion was demonstrated in two large-scale lignite-fired coal boilers at RWE power station in Weisweiler, Germany. As a consequence of the high biogenic share of the cocombusted material, this approach can be considered beneficial following European Directive 2001/77/EC on electricity from renewable energy sources (directive). During the experimental campaign, the share of SRF in the overall thermal input was adjusted to approximately 2%, resulting into a feeding rate of approximately 25 t/hr. The measurement campaign included boiler measurements in different locations, fuel and ash sampling, and its characterization. The corrosion rates were monitored by dedicated corrosion probes. The overall results showed no significant influence of SRF cocombustion on boiler operation, emissions behavior, and residues quality for the thermal shares applied. Also, no effect of the increased chlorine concentration of the recovered fuel was observed in the flue gas path after the desulfurization unit.

The relaxation processes after non-resonant inner-shell photoionization are studied experimentally using electron-electron time-of-flight coincidence spectroscopy. Results for krypton 3d and xenon 4d as well as 3d photoionization are presented. The experimental data make it possible to disentangle sequential from simultaneous processes using the different electron emission characteristics as the differentiating property. For the population of final states having charges higher than 2, the measurements show a strong preference for sequential Auger cascade decay. Clear evidence for direct double Auger processes is found in the case of Xe 3d photoionization only.

In this paper, we initially list 23 subfields of the research topics associated with the title of this paper. Then we present a detailed theoretical description of polarized–electron interactions with atoms and molecules. Spin effects based on Coulomb–direct, Coulomb–exchange and spin–orbit interactions in light and heavy atoms are described, and experimental data are presented as tests for relevant theoretical approximations. Electron–scattering interactions with orientated molecules such as CH₃I and CH₃Cl show interesting alignment and orientation effects, which are new types of test quantities for the theory of such electron–scattering processes with molecules. Numerous multielectron effects determine photoionization of atoms in general. Spin and spin–orbit interaction effects particularly can be studied by photoelectron spin experiments and by applying polarized atoms in the photoionization process. The former type of experiment has been used very successfully in the photoionization of rare gas atoms, while the latter type of experiment and related theories have been applied particularly for photoionization with partly filled subshells. Out of such photoionization experiments with polarized atoms we selected the one with oxygen atoms {O(1s22s22p4) 3P2hν} for a more detailed description. While the photoionization process with unpolarized oxygen atoms is characterized by the cross–section, σ, and the angular distribution, β, only; a further parameter, β′, is required for photoionization with polarized oxygen atoms. Alternatively, it is possible to describe the photoionization of polarized oxygen atoms by deriving βand β′from the ratio of two reduced matrix elements for s and d electrons and their relative phase difference.

The increasing popularity of automatic control systems has led to more widespread use of electrohydraulic systems especially in those fields where good dynamic performance and a favourable power/weight ratio are required. In fluid technology the use of microelectronics for acquisition, conditioning and processing of signals allows improved performance and quality. Especially when using switching valves, the electrohydraulic interface offers features well suited to universal digitisation, in the information and control loop up to the hydraulic performance circuit. This paper presents some simulation and test results of a position controlled actuator with switching valves.

Das klassische Doppelspaltexperiment, das Thomas Young 1802 mit Licht ausführte, ist heute in vielen Varianten möglich. Zum Beispiel kann man als “Doppelspalt” die beiden Atome eines Moleküls verwenden, an denen Elektronen gestreut werden, die das Molekül selbst emittiert. Eine deutschamerikanische Forschergruppe unter maßgeblicher Beteiligung des FritzHaberInstituts in Berlin konnte jüngst zeigen, dass das Interferenzverhalten von der Energie der ausgesandten Elektronen abhängt. Ab einer kritischen Energie überlagert sich das gestreute Elektron nicht mehr mit seinem Nachbarelektron, sondern mit sich selbst.

Der Doppelspalt-Versuch, insbesondere der mit einzelnen Elektronen, ist ein Schlüsselexperiment der Quantenmechanik. Er zeigt den Welle-Teilchen-Dualismus der Natur und führte zur Postulierung des Bohrschen Komplementaritäts-Prinzips. Dieses Ausschließlichkeitsprinzip wurde in jüngster Zeit in Frage gestellt. Physiker in Europa und den USA haben nun gezeigt, dass die Ausschließlichkeit von Welle und Teilchen auch für strukturlose Objekte, wie freie Elektronen, nicht gilt.
