A new method of numerical simulating prediction and decontamination effect evaluation for abrasive jet decontamination to radioactively contaminated metal is proposed. Based on the Computational Fluid Dynamics and Discrete Element Model (CFD-DEM) coupled simulation model, the motion patterns and distribution of abrasives can be predicted, and the decontamination effect can be evaluated by image processing and recognition technology. The impact of three key parameters (impact distance, inlet pressure, abrasive mass flow rate) on the decontamination effect is revealed. Moreover, here are experiments of reliability verification to decontamination effect and numerical simulation methods that has been conducted. The results show that: 60Co and other homogeneous solid solution radioactive pollutants can be removed by abrasive jet, and the average removal rate of Co exceeds 80%. It is reliable for the proposed numerical simulation and evaluation method because of the well goodness of fit between predicted value and actual values: The predicted values and actual values of the abrasive distribution diameter are Ф57 and Ф55; the total coverage rate is 26.42% and 23.50%; the average impact velocity is 81.73 m/s and 78.00 m/s. Further analysis shows that the impact distance has a significant impact on the distribution of abrasive particles on the target surface, the coverage rate of the core area increases at first, and then decreases with the increase of the impact distance of the nozzle, which reach a maximum of 14.44% at 300 mm. It is recommended to set the impact distance around 300 mm, because at this time the core area coverage of the abrasive is the largest and the impact velocity is stable at the highest speed of 81.94 m/s. The impact of the nozzle inlet pressure on the decontamination effect mainly affects the impact kinetic energy of the abrasive and has little impact on the distribution. The greater the inlet pressure, the greater the impact kinetic energy, and the stronger the decontamination ability of the abrasive. But in return, the energy consumption is higher, too. For the decontamination of radioactively contaminated metals, it is recommended to set the inlet pressure of the nozzle at around 0.6 MPa. Because most of the Co elements can be removed under this pressure. Increasing the mass and flow of abrasives appropriately can enhance the decontamination effectiveness. The total mass of abrasives per unit decontamination area is suggested to be 50 g because the core area coverage rate of the abrasive is relatively large under this condition; and the nozzle wear extent is acceptable.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common malignant tumor. At present, early diagnosis of HCC is difficult and therapeutic methods are limited. Radiomics can achieve accurate quantitative evaluation of the lesions without invasion, and has important value in the diagnosis and treatment of HCC. Radiomics features can predict the development of cancer in patients, serve as the basis for risk stratification of HCC patients, and help clinicians distinguish similar diseases, thus improving the diagnostic accuracy. Furthermore, the prediction of the treatment outcomes helps determine the treatment plan. Radiomics is also helpful in predicting the HCC recurrence, disease-free survival and overall survival. This review summarized the role of radiomics in the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of HCC.

BackgroundEctatic infarct-related artery (IRA) has been shown to be associated with higher thrombus burden, no-reflow, stent thrombosis (ST) and major adverse cardiovascular events in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). The effect of ectatic non-IRA on ST without ectatic IRA is not known. We aimed to assess the effect of ectatic non-IRA presence on ST within 1 month after primary percutaneous intervention (pPCI) in patients with STEMI.MethodsA total of 1541 patients with a diagnosis of STEMI and underwent pPCI between 2015 and 2020 were retrospectively included in the study. Patients with and without 1 month ST were compared. Penalised logistic regression method was used to assess the association between ST and candidate predictors due to the risk of overfitting.ResultsMedian age of the study group was 56.5 (48.7 to 67.2) years. The Synergy between PCI with Taxus and Cardiac Surgery (SYNTAX) score, ectatic non-IRA presence and use of tirofiban were significantly higher in the ST group (18.2±9.9 vs 15.1±9.9, p=0.03; 25% vs 7.2%, p<0.001; 54.2% vs 30.5%, p<0.001; respectively). Significantly higher thrombus aspiration (14.3% vs 6.7%, p=0.03) and lower stent implantation (67.7% vs 84%, p<0.001) rates were observed in ectatic IRA group compared with ectatic non-IRA group. In multivariable analysis, ectatic non-IRA presence was independently associated with 1-month ST (OR 4.01, 95% CI 1.86 to 8.63, p=0.01).ConclusionEctatic non-IRA presence without ectatic IRA in patients with STEMI increases the risk of ST within the first month of pPCI.

TANK-binding kinase 1 (TBK1), a core kinase of antiviral pathways, activates the production of interferons (IFNs). It has been reported that deacetylation activates TBK1; however, the precise mechanism still remains to be uncovered. We show here that during the early stage of viral infection, the acetylation of TBK1 was increased, and the acetylation of TBK1 at Lys241 enhanced the recruitment of IRF3 to TBK1. HDAC3 directly deacetylated TBK1 at Lys241 and Lys692, which resulted in the activation of TBK1. Deacetylation at Lys241 and Lys692 was critical for the kinase activity and dimerization of TBK1 respectively. Using knockout cell lines and transgenic mice, we confirmed that a HDAC3 null mutant exhibited enhanced susceptibility to viral challenge via impaired production of type I IFNs. Furthermore, activated TBK1 phosphorylated HDAC3, which promoted the deacetylation activity of HDAC3 and formed a feedback loop. In this study, we illustrated the roles the acetylated and deacetylated forms of TBK1 play in antiviral innate responses and clarified the post-translational modulations involved in the interaction between TBK1 and HDAC3.

AbstractWRKY transcription factors (TFs) are primarily involved in regulating the response of plants to different types of abiotic stress and related physiological processes. WRKYgenes have yet to be characterized in garlic (Allium sativumL.), which is in the family Alliaceae. Here, 78 WRKY TFs were identified based on the garlic transcriptome and genome. They were divided into seven subfamilies based on Arabidopsis thalianaWRKY domains. Cis-element analysis revealed that the WRKY family members have ABRE and MBS cis-response elements that respond to salt stress, gibberellins, and drought stress. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) analysis revealed that the expression of nine WRKYgenes was induced under heat and salt stress.

The TiO2 nanoparticles with different Yb doping amount were prepared by a facile sol-gel method. The samples were characterized by XRD, TEM, XPS, UV-Vis, and PL, etc. The influence of Yb-doping on structure and visible light photocatalytic activity of mixed phase TiO2 was evaluated by photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) under the irradiation of fluorescent lamp. The results show that ytterbium appeared two kinds of Yb3+ and Yb2+ valence state on the surface of TiO2. Ytterbium doping can restrain the phase transfer from anatase to rutile, prevent the grain growth, and increase the surface hydroxyl content. Appropriate amount of Yb doping and the proportions of rutile and anatase mixed phase can effectively inhibit the recombination of photogenerated electron and hole, expand the wavelength range of absorption spectrum, and improve the photocatalytic performance of TiO2. Meanwhile, the photocatalytic activity of the Yb-TiO2 samples was the best under the irradiation of fluorescent light when the sintered temperature T=500°C and n(Yb):n(Ti)=0.009, it was 95.2% within 6 h and significantly higher than 56.4% of pure TiO2 under the same experimental conditions.

Kidney tumor is one of the common malignant tumors of urinary system. However, rapid and accurate segmentation of kidney tissue is still a challenging problem in the medical image processing field on account of its obscure onset and uncertain and discontinuous boundary of its anatomical structure. We proposed a deep learning method globa-local UNet11 (GL-UNet11) for ultrasonic image segmentation of kidney, renal parenchyma and renal sinus, aiming at the inaccuracy of internal and marginal segmentation in ultrasonic image segmentation.

Medical ultrasound image classification based on convolutional neural network is the mainstream breast cancer classification model, but its limited perceptual ability limits its ability to obtain global information.

The research of this paper was derived from the small autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV)Raider well performed in the 15th International Underwater Vehicle Competition (IAUVC),San Diego. In order to improve the performance of underwater vehicle, the control system of performance motion played an important role on autonomous underwater vehicles stable motion, and the whole control system of AUV is the main point. Firstly, based on the motion equations of six degrees of freedom, the paper simplified the dynamical model reasonably in allusion; Due to the speed of Raider to find the target was very low, this paper considered the speed was approximately zero and only considered the vertical motion. Therefore, this paper established the vertical hydrodynamic model of Raider, obtaining the transfer equation of vertical motion. Through the experiment and Matlab/Simulink simulation, this paper got the actual depth of the step response curve and simulation curve, and verified the validity of the vertical hydrodynamic model and the correlation coefficient.

The metal friction materials of copper matrix with and without resin using hot press were investigated to study their hardness, porosities, bending strengths, microstructures, coefficient of frictions, and wear mechanisms. The experiment results show that the hardness and bending strength of the friction materials with increase of amount of copper increase, but the porosity decreases. The resulting coefficient of frictions show more stable and their values are about 0.5~0.6. In addition, the wear mechanism of friction material shows mainly grit abrasive and adhesion, which cause the coefficient of friction to become stable. On the other hand, when the copper matrix containing resin is used, the resulting porosity of friction materials becomes higher and the bending strength decreases. This shows that the wear mechanisms of grit abrasive, roughness, and adhesion cause the coefficient of friction to produce a higher value.

The heat shock transcription factors (Hsfs) play critical roles in plant responses to abiotic stresses. However, the mechanism of Hsfs in the regulation of pollen thermotolerance and their specific biological functions and signaling remain unclear. Herein, we demonstrate that HsfA1a played a key role in tomato pollen thermotolerance. Pollen thermotolerance was reduced in hsfA1amutants but was increased by hsfA1aoverexpression, based on pollen viability and germination. Analyzing the whole transcriptome by RNA-seq data, we found that HsfA1a mainly regulated the genes involved in oxidative stress protection, protein homeostasis regulation and protein modification, as well as the response to biological stress in anthers under heat stress. The accumulation of reactive oxygen species in anthers was enhanced in hsfA1amutants but decreased in HsfA1a-overexpressing lines. Furthermore, HsfA1a bound to the promoter region of genes involved in redox regulation (Cu/Zn-SOD, GST8, and MDAR1), protein repair (HSP17.6A, HSP70-2, HSP90-2, and HSP101) and degradation (UBP5, UBP18, RPN10a, and ATG10) and regulated the expression of these genes in tomato anthers under heat stress. Our findings suggest that HsfA1a maintains pollen thermotolerance and cellular homeostasis by enhancing antioxidant capacity and protein repair and degradation, ultimately improving pollen viability and fertility.

•IFN-γ up-regulated CD47 expression from transcriptional level.•IFN-γ induced CD47 expression via JAK-STAT1-IRF1 pathway.•The up-regulation of CD47 expression induced by IFN-γ was widespread among cancer.

CD47 is overexpressed in various types of cancers and it can directly bind with SIRPα, which is mainly located on macrophages. The binding of CD47-SIRPα transmits a “don't eat me” signal, which can prevent cancer cells from immune clearance. Targeting the phagocytosis checkpoint of CD47-SIRPα axis has shown remarkable anticancer effect in preclinical and clinical research, which indicates the potential application of CD47-SIRPα blockade for cancer treatment. In this case, the comprehensive description of the regulation of CD47 in different types of cancer cells has significant implications for furthering our understanding of the role of CD47 in cancer. Based on the current reports, we summarized the regulatory factors, i.e., cytokines, oncogenes, microRNAs as well as enzymes, of CD47 expression in cancer cells. Accordingly, we also proposed several points needing further research, hoping to provide useful insights for the future investigation on the regulation of CD47 in cancers.
