To evaluate a mobile e-learning program for nurses caring for women with gynecologic cancer and explore the effect of personal involvement and motivation on self-learning. Cancer care has gradually come to be regarded as chronic disease management. In this context, nurses require health education skills to impart cancer-related knowledge and teach patients the relevant practices to enhance their adaptation to the illness. Thus, nurses would benefit from a mobile program to facilitate learning educational skills efficiently as it allows learners to learn at their own pace and convenience. A cross-sectional study design was used. A mobile e-learning program with interactive tasks was designed to function as supplementary education for nurses. The program comprised four topics including exercise, illness representations based on the Common Sense Model, caring principles associated with chemotherapy and radiation therapy in caring for women with gynecologic cancer. In total, 84 purposively sampled nurses completed the program successfully. Data were collected via structured questionnaire from March to August 2021. Partial least squares structural equation modeling was used to examine the proposed hypotheses regarding the effects of involvement and motivation on learning outcomes. The results showed that cognitive involvement had significant effects on learning motivation. However, no significant effects were found for affective involvement. Furthermore, cognitive involvement was indirectly associated with learning effects via motivational components. The strongest associations between motivational factors and learning effects were found for perceived attention, followed by perceived relevance. The results suggest that motivation is a proximal influencing factor for learning effects. However, the effects of perceived attention and relevance were stronger than those of perceived confidence and satisfaction. Furthermore, the authors identified the different aspects of involvement and found that cognitive involvement had significant effects on learning motivation, while no effects were observed for affective involvement. We have cloned a novel drought-induced gene PeDREB2 from Phyllostachys edulis using the RACE method and demonstrated that the deduced protein sequence contained a conserved AP2 DNA-binding domain that belonged to the EREBP/AP2 family. PeDREB2 gene expression peaked at 12 h under conditions of drought stress, and transcripts accumulated rapidly by 6 h under salt stress, but expression was not affected by abscisic acid or cold stress treatments. In onion epidermal cells, the recombinant protein. PeDREB2-163GFP, was localised to the nucleus. In yeast, the PeDREB2 protein bound specifically to dehydration-response elements to activate transcription of the His3 and LacZ reporter genes. When fused to a sequence encoding the LexA DNA-binding domain, the PeDREB2 protein was an effective trans-activator in the yeast one-hybrid assay. Therefore. Dehydration-responsive element DNA binding (DREB) proteins mediate responses to several environmental stress in plants. A novel CiDREB1 gene of 1,265 bp was isolated from Cymbidium insigne by RACE. The deduced amino acid sequence had a predicted molecular mass of 34.43 kDa and a pI of 5.20. A BLAST search revealed that the encoded protein could be classified as a member of the AP2/EREBP family. Expression analysis showed that CiDREB1 gene transcripts accumulated rapidly under cold stress and peaked by 6 h. Yeast one hybrid analysis indicated that CiDREB1 could interact with its DNA binding domain to activate expression of the dual reporter genes histidine (His3) and galactosidase (LacZ). CiDREB1 localised to the nucleus, although it lacked the typical nuclear localisation signal (NLS). We inserted the CiDREB1 gene into the binary transfonnation vector. pBI121 which was then transferred into tobacco plants using Agrobacterium. Forty-seven transgenic tobacco lines were identified by kanamycin and carbenicillin selection. Integration of the foreign gene into the tobacco genome was confirmed by PCR analysis. Furthermore, seven transgenic tobacco plants displayed enhanced tolerance to cold stress applied to whole plants.
