- Abstract
This study looked at a tool named the unified magnifying endoscopic classification (UMEC). We used this tool to find unusual tissue growths in the digestive system. Five North American doctors, new to this kind of tool, tried it out. They checked their results with the actual conditions found in the body. The outcome showed that UMEC was good at correctly spotting these unusual growths in areas like the esophagus, stomach, and colon. It was better at detecting some types of growth than others, but generally, it performed well. This shows that UMEC could be a helpful tool for doctors to be introduced to powerful imaging methods for spotting unusual growths in the digestive system.
