The effects of surfactants, such as sodium oleate soap, triethanolamine oleate, MOA, OP-4, had been studied for the dispersion of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) in aqueous solution. And the lubricating property of the water dispersion system had been observed by four-ball tester. The results show that sodium oleate soap, MOA and OP-4 have the excellent composite effect for the dispersion of MoS2 aqueous solution, and having a best ratio (wt%) for sodium oleate soap: MOA: OP-4 = 1: 1.8: 2.

WS2 has excellent tribological properties; it is emerging of lubricating materials. MoS2 is commonly used solid lubricants and wide range of applications, but its poor heat resistance. WS2 can well make up for the inadequate performance of the MoS2, but uses it as a solid lubricant in performance research on metallic materials. By friction and wear testing, the paper gets feasibility analysis of the application that WS2 instead of MoS2 in the field of solid lubrication, while exploring the synergies between them, laying the foundations for the manufacture of new types of composite lubrication coatings.

MoS2、WS2、Sb2O3 are common metal friction solid lubricants. Three substances can be complex preparation to create a new type of high temperature composite solid lubricant coating. We get the optimal ratio of such coatings through orthogonal experiment and explore the lubricating properties of the coating and find that the composite coating is good lubricity and wear resistance under high temperature conditions.

Working fluid is commonly used in the making and using progress of cemented carbide tool. The tungsten carbide leaching of cemented carbide tool will be resulted in by the sodium carbonate in cutting fluid, because of the tungsten carbide will occur oxidative dissolution. The inhibitor that suppress tungsten carbide leaching of cemented carbide tool is investigated by soaking experiments, friction experiments, SEM analysis, and energy spectrum analysis. The test result shows that aqueous solution and sodium carbonate will cause tungsten carbide leaching through oxidative dissolution; but compound boricacidester contain benzotriazole could suppress tungsten carbide leaching. The Inhibition mechanism is that compound boricacidester contain benzotriazole could generate complete and compact protective film on the surface of cemented carbide tool, therefore, tungsten carbide leaching is inhibited. Add compound boricacidester contain benzotriazole to the water-based cutting fluid could suppress tungsten carbide leaching effectively.

The main factors that affect properties of solid lubricant coating on high-speed steel surface are the surface roughness and the weight of phosphate coating. The effect of magnetic field on high speed steel phosphate process is significant. It promotes the film and the different appearance and composition of the film. Because the ferric phosphate and dihydric phosphate in phosphate solution may be ordered arrangement by additional magnetic field, they can be deposited on metal surfaces quickly. That is to say that a certain intensity of the magnetic field can reduce the entropy of the phosphate processing system and speed up the formation of phosphate film. During phosphate treatment, the friction performance of high-speed steel coated with solid lubricant coating was significantly improved.

This paper presents that the high-speed steel tools with solid lubrication material coating can cut without fluid because it has the quality of self-lubrication. With the help of M-2 friction and wearing testing machine and KYKY2800 scan electron microscope, the coating preparation technology and mixture ratio of solid lubrication material in complex coating can be optimized. The results show: phosphate treatment can increase the power of the tools’ surface adsorbing solid lubricant, and the frictional behaviour of solid lubrication coating is excellent when surface roughness of phosphate coating is Ra 2μm~Ra 4μm; molybdenum bisulfide, graphite and trioxid aluminium are mixed together and form a kind of complex coating which has better antifriction effect. The cutting test shows that the solid lubricant coating on the high-speed steel tools can be helpful in increasing the service life of the tools, decreasing the cutting resistance, and reducing the chip deformation and surface roughness of finished work.

Cutting fluid is the essential material in metal cutting process. This paper mainly studies the influence of TEA-containing solution on cobalt leaching from cemented carbide tools and the leaching mechanism, and then identifies the effective inhibitor. The results are as follows: (1) TEA additive can make cobalt leach from cemented carbide tools. (2) Addictive of triethanolamine oleate in the solution can obviously inhibit the leaching of cobalt from cemented carbide tools and there exists the best proportion. (3) The mixture of triethanolamine oleate and borax has the best inhibition function. So it can conclude: The mixture of triethanolamine oleate and borax can obviously reduce the leaching of cobalt from the cemented carbide tools, which improves the working life of the cutter and reduces the danger of the fluid to human body.
