Abstract

The article presents a study which examines the influence of high-yield pulps (HYPs) substitution on the brightness stability of high-quality wood-free paper. Findings reveal that the utilization and combination of mineral fillers such as optical brightening agents (OPAs) will significantly improve the brightness stability of mechanical pulps. It also indicates that 15%-20% HYP substitution for hardwood bleached raft pulp (BKP) will not affect its luminosity.
