10. Combination of Multiple Nearest Neighbor Classifiers Based on Feature Subset Clustering Method.

Abstract

This paper proposes a new method called FC-MNNC based on feature subset clustering for combining multiple NNCs to obtain better performance than that of using a single NNC. In FC-MNNC, the component NNCs based on the reasonably partitioned feature subsets are parallel and independently able to classify one pattern and the final decision is aggregated by the majority voting rule. Here, two methods are used to partition the feature set. In method I, GA is used for clustering features to form different feature subsets according to the accuracy of the combination classification. And method II is the transitive closure clustering method based on the pair-wise correlation between features. To demonstrate the performance of FC-MNNC, we select four UCI databases for our experiments. The experimental results show that: (i) in FC-MNNC, the performance of method II isn't better than that of method I; (ii) the accuracy of FC-MNNC based on method I is better than that of the standard NNC and feature selection using GA in individual classifier; (iii) the performance of FC-MNNC based on method I is not worse than that of feature subset selection using GA in multiple NNCs; and (iv) FC-MNNC is robust against irrelevant features. 19. Microsporogenesis and Male Gametophyte Development of Euphorbar pulcherrima

Abstract

The microsporogenesis and male gametophyte development of Euphorbia pulcherrimawere studied with paraffin section method. The results showed that the anther of Euphorbia pulcherrimahad four chambers. The development of anther wall was dicotyledonous type; its wall consisted of epidermis, endothecium, middle layer and tapetum. The mature male gametophyte development experienced seven major stages as the followings: archesporial cells, aporgenous cells, microspore mother cells, tetrads of microspores (tetrahedral), uninucleate microspores, 2-uncleate pollens and 2-celled pollen stage. The anther wall varied with the pollen development: the epidermis of anther ruptures at the anther mature stage; the middle layer disappears at tetrad stage; the endothelium became fibrous layer at the anther mature stage; the tapetum (glandular) was the most development at the microspore mother cells stage and disappeared at anther mature stage. The abnormal anther development was observed simultaneously.

Abstract

Abstract: A study of the synergistic extraction of uranium(VI) from sulphuric acid solution with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-(2prime-chlorobenzoyl)-pyrazolone-5 (PMCBP) together with di-(2-ethylhexyl)-phosphoric acid (HDEHP) and also mono-(2-ethylhexyl)-2-ethylhexyl-phosphate (HEHEHP) is described. The results suggest that the compositions of the extracted species is UO2XHA2 and UO2X2H2A2 respectively. Models for the extraction mechanism is also discussed.
