The article focuses on the use of pop-up satellite archival tags (PSAT) as a way to study palagic animals' habitat preferences, movements and fishery interaction. The study deployed PSAT on 19 species and compared their results with the 1,433 PSAT deployed on 24 species from published studies. Common issues identified during the observation were quantified through the use of reporting rates, retention times, temperature and geolocation data. The study concludes that the their reporting rate of 0.79, 95% CI = 0.76 to 0.82 were not different from that of published studies.
