It has been known that conformal printing with a single nozzle has low efficiency. This study proposes a novel non-expandable curved surface printing method that could realize high-efficiency printing with array nozzles. First, based on the non-uniform rational B-splines curved surface reconstruction method, the parameter equation of the stereolithography format curved surface model is obtained. An equidistant parallel curve filling method is proposed based on the parameter equation. According to the filling accuracy, a spatial equidistant curve network model is established by fitting the surface. Using each node on the curve network as the filling pixel increases the filling rate of the non-expandable surface and improves the printing accuracy. Compared with that of the traditional equidistant filling, the droplet filling rate could be increased by 13.05 % in this study. Finally, based on the self-developed five-axis curved surface inkjet printing system and normal vector printing method, samples of concave, convex, and multi-material conformal surfaces are sequentially printed. Our research finding lays the foundation for high-efficiency integrated molding of electronic devices with complex conformal surfaces.

High-energy photon source is a 6-GeV diffraction-limited synchrotron light source with ultralow beam emittance. A 166.6-MHz quarter-wave superconducting $\beta$=1 structure was proposed as the main accelerating cavities for the storage ring. The high beam current of 200 mA requires heavy damping of higher order modes (HOMs) in the 166.6-MHz cavities to avoid coupled multibunch instabilities. The low HOM frequencies and the limited space of the straight sections for cavities impose great challenges on the HOM damping design. Several hybrid design concepts have been exploited, combining dedicated HOM couplers for the first few HOMs and a beam-line HOM absorber for the remaining high-frequency modes. An enlarged beam pipe scheme was also examined, adopting a large ferrite HOM absorber on the beam line. The design optimizations and limitations of these damping schemes are elaborated and compared. This article presents the design evolution of the HOM damping schemes in the 166.6-MHz superconducting cavities and finally determines the baseline design.

Inkjet 3D printing has huge potential for applications in electronics printing, ceramic printing, and other fields, primarily due to the excellent dimensional accuracy of printed products, which is particularly important for device performance. However, in inkjet 3D printing, the fusion and solidification of droplets can cause the samples to shrink in various directions, resulting in a deviation from the designed target size, and subsequently affecting the performance of the part. In this study, the curing shrinkage behavior of parts in inkjet 3D printing is examined. First, a shrinkage model of the droplet element is established using the finite element method in accordance with the material parameters, and the linear shrinkage rates of different droplet groups are obtained. A curing shrinkage prediction model of the printed parts is then established, and the size and shape of the cured parts are predicted accordingly. A height calculation model of the printed parts is established according to the concept of volume conservation, and the height prediction of the printed parts is realized according to the number of printed layers and their resolution. An approach for compensation of the print model graphic layers is developed using the established prediction model. Experiments using two printing materials with different degrees of shrinkage are conducted to verify the feasibility of this method. The results indicate that the proposed curing shrinkage prediction model can seamlessly capture the curing shrinkage behavior of printed parts for materials with different shrinkages. Furthermore, after shrinkage, the model-based print compensation method achieves the measured sizes that are closer to the target size than that without compensation. The dimensions of inkjet 3D printed parts can be accurately controlled using this method.

Staphylococcus aureusis a common foodborne pathogen and spoilage bacterium in meat products. To develop a natural preservative for meat products, this study revealed the antibacterial activity and mechanism of Rosa roxburghiiTratt pomace crude extract (RRPCE) against S. aureus, and applied RRPCE to the preservation of cooked beef. The diameter of inhibition zone, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), and minimum bactericide concentration of RRPCE against S. aureuswere 15.85 ± 0.35 to 16.21 ± 0.29 mm, 1.5 mg/mL, and 3 mg/mL, respectively. The growth curve of S. aureuswas completely stalled by treatment with RRPCE at 2 MIC. RRPCE results in the decrease of intracellular adenosine 5′-triphosphate (ATP) content, depolarization of cell membrane, leakage of cell fluid including nucleic acid and protein, and destruction of cell membrane integrity and cell morphology. During storage, RRPCE significantly reduced S. aureusviable counts, pH, and total volatile basic nitrogen of cooked beef compared with untreated samples (p< 0.05). In addition, RRPCE could significantly increase the redness (a*) value, decrease lightness (L*) and yellowness (b*) values, and slow down the color change of cooked beef (p< 0.05). These findings suggest that RRPCE can effectively inhibit S. aureus, and has the potential as a natural preservative for the preservation of cooked beef.

Purpose: High energy photon source is a 6 GeV diffraction-limited storage ring light source currently under construction in Beijing. A low-frequency fundamental radio-frequency (rf) system of 166.6 MHz was proposed to accommodate the accelerator physics design. Superconducting rf (srf) technologies were chosen for the storage ring rf accompanied by solid-state power amplifiers and digital low-level rf controls. The design of the rf system was completed, and the parameters are frozen. Elucidation of the rf design with key parameters is desired. Methods: The requirements from the accelerator physics design will be presented followed by the detailed rf design. The logic behind the choice of key rf parameters is elaborated. The configuration of the entire rf system is presented. Results and conclusions: The fundamental srf cavity of 166.6 MHz was designed to accelerate the ultrarelativistic electron beam. Heavy damping of higher-order modes in these cavities is required to avoid the coupled bunch instabilities. An active third harmonic srf of 499.8 MHz was adopted to realize the required rf gymnastics. Normal-conducting 5-cell cavities will be used for the booster rf. Solid-state amplifiers of 2.4 MW in total will be installed at HEPS to drive these cavities in the booster and the storage ring. A digital low-level rf system will be used to regulate rf field inside each cavity with high stabilities. The rf configuration during the commissioning and the operation scenarios are also presented.

The homo-charges accumulated inside the polymeric insulation of high voltage dc (HVdc) cables increase the electrical field beyond the uniform value, whereas the hetero-charges reduce it. Such uneven electrical field distribution is detrimental to HVdc cables’ longevity and thus, needs to be identified accurately. To this end, this article proposes a deep learning (DL) framework for the automated detection of space charges in HVdc cable insulation. The space charges inside the cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation samples were measured under varying electric fields (10–50 kV/mm) as well as at different temperatures (30 °C–70 °C) conditions. The obtained space charge profiles corresponding to no charge, hetero-charge, and homo-charge categories were fed to two benchmark convolutional neural network (CNN) models, i.e., AlexNet and VGGNet16, for automated feature extraction and classification purpose. The convolutional blocks of the two CNN models were sequentially fine-tuned using transfer learning (TL) to observe the variation in classification accuracies. The proposed approach delivers appreciably high classification accuracies irrespective of varying electric field and temperature conditions with reduced computational time toward distinguishing different categories of space charge accumulations compared to other CNN models. Hence, it can be potentially used for real-time HVdc insulation diagnostic purposes.

Subzero temperature severely forbids the transfer of lithium ion (Li+) between electrodes and the diffusion of Li+in interphase, which become one of the slowest steps. Especially in silicon-based battery systems, the continuous thickening and poor ionic conductivity of interface make this challenge more prominent. Maintaining a thin interface with superior ionic conductivity is an effective strategy to develop low temperature silicon-based batteries. Herein, a ternary hybrid solid electrolyte interface containing F, N, S was constructed by electrolyte design to improve Li+interface transport kinetics. Benefited from robust mechanical property of inorganics and high ionic conductivity of Li3N and LixSOy, the hybrid interface sustains a thin thickness over cycles and behaves significantly reduced energy barrier for Li+diffusion. Thus, such interface enables Si-C||LCO pouch cell to maintain a high capacity retention of 56.4 % of the room-temperature capacity at −30℃, and retain 87.4 % of the capacity after 200 cycles. Even at −40℃ and a high loading of 3mAh/cm2, the cell can still be charged and provide a specific capacity of about 310 mAh/g with almost no capacity attenuation after 50 cycles. This work demonstrates the important role of excellent interface for low temperature silicon-based batteries, and provides a reference for the design of rapid Li+transport interface.

Purpose: In order to achieve a high-precision measurement of the incident and the reflected power, a WR1800 rectangular waveguide directional coupler with high directivity and high power level has been in-house developed. Multiple couplers will be installed in the 500-MHz high-power radio-frequency transmission lines delivering 200-kW continuous-wave power for the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS). Methods: The directional coupler adopts the design scheme of primary and secondary transmission lines and coaxial coupling-head structure. The shape and dimensional parameters of the coupling head were carefully optimized by using microwave simulation codes. An optimum directivity of 64 dB was achieved in simulations. Results and conclusions: A prototype coupler was subsequently manufactured, and its directivity was measured to be 48.2 dB following a rigorous calibration procedure, largely exceeding the design goal and the commercial product. The coupler was then connected to an existing 500-MHz klystron system, and a high-power test with short-circuit termination was conducted. The high directivity of the coupler was confirmed up to 200 kW. During the 6 hours of power aging with continuous-wave 200 kW in a standing-wave setup, no performance degradation was observed on the coupler. The coupler temperature was measured to be 20 ${}^{\circ }$\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$^{\circ }$$\end{document}C above the ambient environment. The design requirements were comfortably fulfilled. These constitute the first in-house development of a large-size waveguide directional coupler with high directivity and high power level for HEPS. The design, fabrication, and performance tests of the directional coupler are presented.

Microdroplet-jet 3D printing constructs functional devices by layering and curing materials through spraying. However, thermal stresses accumulated during curing can cause warping and deformation in prototypes. To address this, a computational analysis model was developed in this study to investigate the warpage mechanism of photosensitive resin during the microdroplet jet printing curing process. The model integrates curing reaction kinetics into a finite element model, establishing a coupled chemical field-temperature field-stress field multiphysics field model to predict stress accumulation and warping in printed parts. The introduction of an equivalent light intensity distribution simulates layer-by-layer penetration curing behavior in microdroplet spraying. Using a single curing operation to equate the multi-layer layer-by-layer curing process allows for the analysis of deformation in light-cured samples with thousands of layers. The model is experimentally verified to capture the transient variation of the curing degree field, temperature field, stress field, and strain field during the resin curing process. It accurately predicts the deformation and warpage behavior of multilayer printed parts post-curing, with warpage prediction errors ranging from −3.34–6.97 %. The model provides a reliable theoretical and modeling basis for the in-depth analysis of the effect of curing process parameters on curing deformation in microdroplet- jet 3D printing.

To date, there has been no high-quality sequence for genomes of the East Asian grape species, hindering biological and breeding efforts to improve grape cultivars. This study presents ~522 Mb of the Vitis amurensis(Va) genome sequence containing 27 635 coding genes. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that Vitis riparia(Vr) may have first split from the other two species, Vaand Vitis vinifera(Vv). Divergent numbers of duplicated genes reserved among grapes suggests that the core eudicot-common hexaploidy (ECH) and the subsequent genome instability still play a non-negligible role in species divergence and biological innovation. Prominent accumulation of sequence variants might have improved cold resistance in Va, resulting in a more robust network of regulatory cold resistance genes, explaining why it is extremely cold-tolerant compared with Vvand Vr. In contrast, Vahas preserved many fewer nucleotide binding site (NBS) disease resistance genes than the other grapes. Notably, multi-omics analysis identified one trans-cinnamate 4-monooxygenase gene positively correlated to the resveratrol accumulated during Vaberry development. A selective sweep analysis revealed a hypothetical Vasex-determination region (SDR). Besides, a PPR-containing protein-coding gene in the hypothetical SDR may be related to sex determination in Va. The content and arrangement order of genes in the putative SDR of female Vawere similar to those of female Vv. However, the putative SDR of female Vahas lost one flavin-containing monooxygenase (FMO) gene and contains one extra protein-coding gene uncharacterized so far. These findings will improve the understanding of Vitisbiology and contribute to the improvement of grape breeding.

ABSTRACTThis study aimed to determine the amount of expression of the ATP-binding cassette subfamily B member 1 (ABCB1)gene chip as a prospective diagnostic marker for acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in a wide population . In the AMI and control groups, 113 patients with AMI and 83 persons with non-coronary artery disease were selected for peripheral venous leukocyte collection. Western blot and real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) were employed to detect relative ABCB1expression in both groups. The results showed that the ABCB1transcription and protein levels in the AMI group were higher than in the control. The relative mRNA expression of ABCB1was 0.26 (0.03–0.79) in the AMI group and 0.13 (0.01–0.52) in the control group (P < 0.05). The expression of the ABCB1gene at the protein level in the AMI group was 1.65 times that in the control (P < 0.05). Further, the subjects in the AMI group were older (P < 0.001), had lower levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (P = 0.038), and had higher incidence of type II diabetes mellitus (P = 0.003) compared with the control. Logistic regression analysis showed that the expression of ABCB1in peripheral blood was correlated with the occurrence of AMI (P = 0.003). High ABCB1expression, type II diabetes, and advanced age were found to serve as potential independent risk factors for AMI, with a 4.88-fold, 2.99-fold, and 2.63-fold increased risk of AMI. Overall, the high expression of ABCB1in peripheral blood might be related to the occurrence of AMI.

Background: Wujiayizhi granule (WJYZG) is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, which is used for treating Alzheimer's disease (AD). Although the clinical effect of WJYZG for AD is obvious, its underlying mechanism is still obscure. Objective: Explore the mechanism of WJYZG in the treatment of AD by using bioinformatics methods. Methods: Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform (TCMSP), Traditional Chinese Medicine Integrated Database (TCMID) and Encyclopedia Database of Chinese Medicine (ETCM) were used to search the ingredients and targets of WJYZG. DisGeNET, Drugbank, Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM), and Terapeutic Target Database (TTD) were used to retrieve the targets of AD. The Cytoscape3.6.1 software was used to construct the interaction network of herbs-ingredients-targets. The Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analyses were performed to explore the treatment mechanism of WJYZG on AD. Molecular docking was used to validate the interactions between the ingredients and targets. Results: One hundred and thirty-three ingredients were identified from WJYZG. According to the herbingredient- targets network, quercetin, kaempferol, luteolin, anhydroicaritin, and 8-prenyl-flavone were screened out as the key ingredients, which can interact with the core targets encompassing INS, IL6, TNF, IL1B, CASP3, PTGS2, VEGFA, and PPARG. The enrichment analysis indicates that the treatment of AD by WJYZG was through inhibiting inflammation and neurocyte apoptosis, regulating the calcium ion signaling pathway and adjusting INS levels. Conclusion: The underlying mechanisms of WJYZG in the treatment of AD were theoretically illustrated. We hope these results will enlighten the researches on AD.

Here, genomic analyses including the homologous gene dot plot analysis detected multiple paleo-polyploidization events, with one occurring approximately 13–15 million years ago (MYA) and another about 125–142 MYA, during the evolutionof the genomeof Selaginella moellendorffii, a model lycophyte. In addition, comparative analysis of reconstructed ancestral genomes of lycophytes and angiosperms suggested that lycophytes were affected by more paleo-polyploidization events than seed plants. Results from the present genomic analyses indicate that paleo-polyploidization has contributed to the successful establishment of both lineages—lycophytes and seed plants—of vascular plants.

Angiosperms represent one of the most spectacular terrestrial radiations on the planet1, but their early diversification and phylogenetic relationships remain uncertain2–5. A key reason for this impasse is the paucity of complete genomes representing early-diverging angiosperms. Here, we present high-quality, chromosomal-level genome assemblies of two aquatic species—prickly waterlily (Euryale ferox; Nymphaeales) and the rigid hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum; Ceratophyllales)—and expand the genomic representation for key sectors of the angiosperm tree of life. We identify multiple independent polyploidization events in each of the five major clades (that is, Nymphaeales, magnoliids, monocots, Ceratophyllales and eudicots). Furthermore, our phylogenomic analyses, which spanned multiple datasets and diverse methods, confirm that Amborellaand Nymphaeales are successively sister to all other angiosperms. Furthermore, these genomes help to elucidate relationships among the major subclades within Mesangiospermae, which contain about 350,000 species. In particular, the species-poor lineage Ceratophyllales is supported as sister to eudicots, and monocots and magnoliids are placed as successively sister to Ceratophyllales and eudicots. Finally, our analyses indicate that incomplete lineage sorting may account for the incongruent phylogenetic placement of magnoliids between nuclear and plastid genomes.

Introduction: The circular electron–positron collider (CEPC) will use a 650-MHz RF system with 240 two-cell cavities for the collider. The collider is a double ring with shared cavities for Higgs operation and separate cavities for W and Z operations. The higher-order modes (HOM) excited by the intense beam bunches must be damped to avoid additional cryogenic loss and multi-bunch instabilities. Materials and methods: To get the real damping results, two prototypes of HOM coupler have been fabricated and installed on the 650-MHz two-cell cavity. The HOMs have been verified by bead pulling method. A test bench with two 2-cell cavities is used to measure the real damping results and study HOM propagating properties for a cavity string. Conclusion: In this paper, the impedance budget, HOM damping and HOM power requirements for the CEPC collider ring are given. The damping results measured for the fundamental mode and HOMs seem good compared with the simulated results. The absorbing efficiency of the absorber and the extraction power efficiency of HOM couplers were also achieved.

Due to the large volume expansion, the multiple issue of severe pulverized Si particles, irreversible damaged electrode structure, and incompatible solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), have greatly restricted the practical application of Si-based anodes. Herein, a neutral partially lithiated binder (PVA1-g-LiPAA3) is successfully synthesized and applied in high-loaded SiOx||Li, 200mAh and 4Ah SiOx/graphite||LiCoO2pouch cells. The rich netural -OH and -COOLi groups show strong interaction with the Si particles during long-term cycling processes. Neutral PVA1-g-LiPAA3binder can induce the formation of a homogenous and stable “core-shell” SEI film on the SiOxanodes, forbidding the structural evolution and volume expansion. This -CF3-rich SEI film can also improve the ionic conductivity and accelerate the electrochemical kinetics reaction. Moreover, the integrity of fluid collection and polar ears can also be protected. Thus, the manufactured 4Ah SiOx/graphite||LiCoO2full pouch cell maintains a high 700thdischarge capacity of 3.13Ah with capacity retention of 81.3% under 25°C and 3C, as well as 300thdischarge capacity of 2.73Ah with capacity retention of 98.6% even under 0°C and 1.5C. This work proves the industrical applications of Si-based anodes over a wide temperature range with high energy density and long cycle life.

Higher-order modes (HOMs) may affect beam stability and refrigeration requirements of superconducting cavity such as the 166.6 MHz SC cavity, which is studied at IHEP. Under certain conditions, beam-induced HOMs can accumulate sufficient energy to destabilize the beam or quench the superconducting cavities. In order to limit these effects, we consider the use of the HOM coupler with HOMs extraction on the cutoff tubes of the 166.6 MHz SC cavity. The HOM coupler can deeply suppress the fundamental mode and efficiently extract dangerous high-order modes. In this paper, the HOM coupler design process is presented, which operates at 166.6 MHz. The RF and thermal behavior are discussed. In order to verify the designs, a rapid prototype for the favored coupler was fabricated and characterized on a low-power test stand.

High oil and protein content make tetraploid peanut a leading oil and food legume. Here we report a high-quality peanut genome sequence, comprising 2.54 Gb with 20 pseudomolecules and 83,709 protein-coding gene models. We characterize gene functional groups implicated in seed size evolution, seed oil content, disease resistance and symbiotic nitrogen fixation. The peanut B subgenome has more genes and general expression dominance, temporally associated with long-terminal-repeat expansion in the A subgenome that also raises questions about the A-genome progenitor. The polyploid genome provided insights into the evolution of Arachis hypogaeaand other legume chromosomes. Resequencing of 52 accessions suggests that independent domestications formed peanut ecotypes. Whereas 0.42–0.47 million years ago (Ma) polyploidy constrained genetic variation, the peanut genome sequence aids mapping and candidate-gene discovery for traits such as seed size and color, foliar disease resistance and others, also providing a cornerstone for functional genomics and peanut improvement.

The 166.6 MHz superconducting radio frequency cavities have been proposed for High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) storage ring. HEPS is a 6 GeV, 200 mA diffraction-limited synchrotron light source to be built in Beijing. Higher-order modes (HOMs) excited in 166.6 MHz SRF cavities have to be sufficiently damped in order to prevent coupled-bunch instabilities and to limit parasitic mode losses. A hybrid HOM damping scheme has been proposed. An enlarged beam pipe allows HOMs above beam pipe cutoff frequencies to propagate and subsequently be absorbed by dampers installed on the downstream beam pipe, while a petal-shaped coaxial structure extracts HOMs below beam pipe cutoff frequencies and subsequently damped by the specially designed coaxial filter. HOM damping in cavities has been demonstrated by 3D simulations. The impedance of HOMs has been successfully reduced to be lower than the coupled-bunch instability threshold. In addition, no hard barrier multipaction has been observed and acceptable heat loss is obtained. In this paper, the hybrid HOM damping scheme has been demonstrated. Based on these studies, a prototype petal–loop structure and its associated filter are being fabricated.

Polygala tenuifoliais a perennial medicinal plant that has been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for treating mental diseases. However, the lack of genomic resources limits the insight into its evolutionary and biological characterization. In the present work, we reported the P. tenuifoliagenome, the first genome assembly of the Polygalaceae family. We sequenced and assembled this genome by a combination of Illumnina, PacBio HiFi, and Hi-C mapping. The assembly includes 19 pseudochromosomes covering ~92.68% of the assembled genome (~769.62 Mb). There are 36 463 protein-coding genes annotated in this genome. Detailed comparative genome analysis revealed that P. tenuifoliaexperienced two rounds of whole genome duplication that occurred ~39–44 and ~18–20 million years ago, respectively. Accordingly, we systematically reconstructed ancestral chromosomes of P. tenuifoliaand inferred its chromosome evolution trajectories from the common ancestor of core eudicots to the present species. Based on the transcriptomics data, enzyme genes and transcription factors involved in the synthesis of triterpenoid saponin in P. tenuifoliawere identified. Further analysis demonstrated that whole-genome duplications and tandem duplications play critical roles in the expansion of P450 and UGT gene families, which contributed to the synthesis of triterpenoid saponins. The genome and transcriptome data will not only provide valuable resources for comparative and functional genomic researches on Polygalaceae, but also shed light on the synthesis of triterpenoid saponin.

Pneumatosis of the portal vein is considered a rare imaging sign rather than a disease. It usually occurs in patients with digestive tract diseases such as intestinal obstructive diseases, mesenteric vascular diseases, closed abdominal trauma, and liver transplantation. Because of its high mortality rate, it is also termed the “sign of death.” Hawthorn contains tannic acid, and seafood is rich in calcium, iron, carbon, iodine, and other minerals and proteins. Thus, consuming both hawthorn and seafood together can result in the formation of an indigestible complex in the body, acting as the main pathogenic factor in patients with intestinal obstruction. We herein describe a patient with duodenal obstruction caused by hawthorn who developed the hepatic portal venous gas sign and was cured by nonsurgical treatment.

Orthorhombic niobium pentoxide (T-Nb2O5) has been regarded as a potential anode candidate for high-power-density lithium ion batteries (LIBs)/lithium ion capacitors (LICs). Unfortunately, the practical application of T-Nb2O5anode is plagued by its poor intrinsic electronic conductivity and particle pulverization during the repeated lithiation/delithiation processes. Herein, VNbO4@Nb2O5heterostructure with complementary components was reported for the first time, in which the rutile VNbO4with high electronic conductivity can accelerate electron transfer and stabilize the loose “room-pillar” structure of T-Nb2O5, while the T-Nb2O5can contribute to optimize Li+diffusion in VNbO4and facilitate Li+diffusion along the favorable path with low steric hindrance. Besides, the unique heterostructure can optimize the energy band structure and induce internal electric fields, thus further improving the ionic/electronic conductivity of VNbO4@Nb2O5. As a result, VNbO4@Nb2O5demonstrates an exceptional rate capacity of 108.1 mAh g-1even at 100C and long cycle stability when evaluated as an anode for LIB. Moreover, the assembled quasi-solid state lithium ion capacitor constructed by VNbO4@Nb2O5anode and activated carbon (AC) cathode possesses a high energy density of 103.9Whkg-1even at high power density of 12kWkg−1

The Hippo pathway is evolutionarily conserved from Drosophila to mammals. FRMD6 is one crucial upstream component of the Hippo pathway while its function and regulatory mechanism are largely elusive. We decided to purify the protein complex of FRMD6 to further explore its regulatory mechanism. We established the MCF7 breast cancer cells that stably expressed FRMD6 by retroviruses infection. And we purified the FRMD6-interacting protein complex for further analysis by high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry(HPLCMS/ MS). Interestingly, we observed that the major binding partner of FRMD6 is 14-3-3 family of proteins. The interaction between FRMD6 and 14-3-3 proteins was detected by co-immunoprecipitation(CO-IP). The disruption of their interaction resulted in the nuclear localization of FRMD6. Importantly, the T28A mutant of FRMD6 showed stronger tumor suppressor function than wild type(WT) FRMD6. Our results indicate that 14-3-3 proteins tightly regulate the subcellular localization of FRMD6 so as to endow FRMD6 with the tumor suppressor function on breast cancer.

Intense pulsed light sintering uses a high-power pulsed xenon lamp to release large amounts of energy and promote the growth of sintered necks between nanoparticles in additive manufacturing. However, the process results in poor stability of the sintering effect on conductive patterns and easily damages the target materials. An analysis model was developed in this study to investigate the mechanism of intense pulsed sintering. The sintering process was divided into pre-sintering and formal sintering. In pre-sintering, the conductive pattern is described by the porous volatilization model based on Darcy's fluid equation to calculate the solvent phase change volatilization state, whereas a multi-scale analysis model was established for the formal sintering process. First, a molecular dynamics model was used to analyze the sintering state of nano-silver clusters in a variable temperature field to calculate the time-varying parameters. Second, from a finite element model, the intense pulsed sintering temperature field was constructed for different sintering parameters and applied to the two-phase flow model of sintering nano-silver particles to calculate the sintering process state of nano-silver particles. The relationship between the intense pulsed sintering parameters and the sintering state was revealed, thus providing a reliable theoretical basis for the sintering process to improve sintering stability.

Because of their great therapeutic and economic value, medicinal plants have attracted increasing scientific attention. With the rapid development of high-throughput sequencing technology, the genomes of many medicinal plants have been sequenced. Storing and analyzing the increasing volume of genomic data has become an urgent task. To solve this challenge, we have proposed the Traditional Chinese Medicine Plant Genome database (TCMPG, http://cbcb.cdutcm.edu.cn/TCMPG/), an integrative database for storing the scattered genomes of medicinal plants. TCMPG currently includes 160 medicinal plants, 195 corresponding genomes, and 255 herbal medicines. Detailed information on plant species, genomes, and herbal medicines is also integrated into TCMPG. Popular genomic analysis tools are embedded in TCMPG to facilitate the systematic analysis of medicinal plants. These include BLAST for identifying orthologs from different plants, SSR Finder for identifying simple sequence repeats, JBrowse for browsing genomes, Synteny Viewer for displaying syntenic blocks between two genomes, and HmmSearch for identifying protein domains. TCMPG will be continuously updated by integrating new data and tools for comparative and functional genomic analysis.

An iterative phase retrieval algorithm was previously investigated for in-line x-ray phase imaging. Through detailed theoretical analysis and computer simulations, we now discuss the limitations, robustness, and efficiency of the algorithm. The iterative algorithm was proved robust against imaging noise but sensitive to the variations of several system parameters. It is also efficient in terms of calculation time. It was shown that the algorithm can be applied to phase retrieval based on one phase-contrast image and one attenuation image, or two phase-contrast images; in both cases, the two images can be obtained either by one detector in two exposures, or by two detectors in only one exposure as in the dual-detector scheme.

The current therapy for myocarditis is immunosuppressive therapy. However, in rare cases in which patients do not respond to intervention, their condition can rapidly deteriorate to myocarditis with shock, which is characterized by extensive and diffuse lymphocyte infiltration in the myocardium. Most cases of myocarditis are caused by virus-mediated damage of cardiomyocytes, and its clinical manifestations are ventricular arrhythmia and hemodynamic disturbances. Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation is an effective intervention, which regulates hemodynamic stability and avoids systemic hypoperfusion. This intervention has been used to sustain hemodynamic stability in patients with myocarditis and shock. We report here early application of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for successful treatment of a patient with myocarditis and shock.

It is controversial whether or not β-blockers are effective in patients with congestive heart failure (CHF) who are complicated by persistent atrial fibrillation (AF).

Objective This study aimed to investigate whether differential expression of the retinoic acid receptor-related orphan receptor A (RORA) gene is related to occurrence of acute myocardial infarction (AMI).Methods This was a retrospective study. White blood cells of 93 patients with acute myocardial infarction and 74 patients with stable coronary artery disease were collected. Reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blotting were used to measure RORA mRNA and protein expression, respectively.Results RORAmRNA expression levels in peripheral blood leukocytes in patients with AMI were 1.57 times higher than those in patients with stable coronary artery disease. Protein RORA levels in peripheral blood of patients with AMI were increased. Binary logistic regression analysis showed that high expression of RORAwas an independent risk factor for AMI, and it increased the risk of AMI by 2.990 times.Conclusion RORAexpression levels in patients with AMI is significantly higher than that in patients with stable coronary artery disease. High expression of RORAis related to AMI and it may be an independent risk factor for AMI.

Lithium metal anode is regarded as an attractive option for next-generation high-energy-density rechargeable batteries. However, the unstable solid-electrolyte interphases between lithium anode and electrolyte lead to uncontrolled growth of lithium dendrites. Herein, we describe the surface reconstruction of Li anode by molecular beam epitaxy deposition of an ultrathin and compact bismuth film. During Li plating process, the electrochemical active bismuth film is prone to form a close-knit lithiophilic lithium-bismuthide (LixBi) alloy layer through electrochemical alloying with lithium metal. Benefiting from its high ionic conductivity, lithiophilic characteristics, high chemical stability, good mechanical properties and air/moisture tolerance, the LixBi-rich layer efficiently inhibit the parasitic reactions between Li anode and electrolyte, and thus favor a dendrite-free Li plating/stripping process, as verified by electrochemical tests and in-depth analyses. Symmetric cells with Bi-coated Li electrodes show a stable and dendrite-free cycling behavior at 1.0 mAh cm−2for 300 h and superior rate performance up to 5.0 mA cm−2. When Bi-coated lithium anodes are paired with a LiNi0.5Co0.2Mn0.3O2cathode, a stable cycling life for over 300 cycles at 0.5C with a high capacity retention rate of 97% is obtained. This work provides new insights and strategies for the construction of Li-rich alloy layers on lithium metal surface via molecular beam epitaxy that enables dendrite-free and high-performance lithium metal batteries.
