Immunosuppression by the tumor microenvironment is a pivotal factor contributing to tumor progression and immunotherapy resistance. Priming the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) has emerged as a promising strategy for improving the efficacy of cancer immunotherapy. In this study we investigated the effects of noninvasive radiofrequency radiation (RFR) exposure on tumor progression and TIME phenotype, as well as the antitumor potential of PD-1 blockage in a model of pulmonary metastatic melanoma (PMM). Mouse model of PMM was established by tail vein injection of B16F10 cells. From day 3 after injection, the mice were exposed to RFR at an average specific absorption rate of 9.7 W/kg for 1 h per day for 14 days. After RFR exposure, lung tissues were harvested and RNAs were extracted for transcriptome sequencing;PMM-infiltrating immune cells were isolated for single-cell RNA-seq analysis. We showed that RFR exposure significantly impeded PMM progression accompanied by remodeled TIME of PMM via altering the proportion and transcription profile of tumor-infiltrating immune cells. RFR exposure increased the activation and cytotoxicity signatures of tumor-infiltrating CD8+T cells, particularly in the early activation subset with upregulated genes associated with T cell cytotoxicity. The PD-1 checkpoint pathway was upregulated by RFR exposure in CD8+T cells. RFR exposure also augmented NK cell subsets with increased cytotoxic characteristics in PMM. RFR exposure enhanced the effector function of tumor-infiltrating CD8+T cells and NK cells, evidenced by increased expression of cytotoxic molecules. RFR-induced inhibition of PMM growth was mediated by RFR-activated CD8+T cells and NK cells. We conclude that noninvasive RFR exposure induces antitumor remodeling of the TIME, leading to inhibition of tumor progression, which provides a promising novel strategy for TIME priming and potential combination with cancer immunotherapy.

The structured light profilometry often suffers from local overexposure and underexposure, resulting in measurement error while applied to highly reflective objects. To address this problem, we introduce an adaptive multiple exposure imaging and fusion scheme to generate desired decoding fringes even with the drastically varying reflective surface. Here, a complementary gray code is utilized in our profilometry to generate the projection stripes, and the responses from the binary positive and negative stripes are first exploited to define a unique image formation model for the structured light system. Based on the model, an optimal exposure sequence is calculated for a specific target using an adaptive mechanism, where the probing exposure is iteratively increased according to a prior difference threshold and some stop criterion. The projected stripes on the target surface are then captured at the optimal exposure time and the high dynamic range (HDR) images are generated by a specifically designed image fusion algorithm which is guided by the difference between the positive and negative stripes. Thus, these HDR response images could be decoded as the common gray code patterns to generate the 3-D profile measurement. It is demonstrated in a comparative experiment using real workpieces that the proposed method could outperform the existing HDR methods in terms of accuracy and completeness of obtained profiles.

Photoredox catalysis is regarded as an economically appealing method for highly efficient and sustainable chemical syntheses. Nevertheless, numerous recent studies have revealed several unresolved disadvantages; for example, based on the Bouguer-Lambert-Beer law, the short propagation distance of photons in traditional batch reactors hampers the scalability of photocatalytic reactions. The introduction of continuous-flow technology for photochemical synthesis has resolved several of these problems. The use of photochemistry in microreactors has resulted in various transformations. Superior mixing ability, more effective heat transfer, and the easier magnification of continuous-flow chemical reactions are key to its success. Continuous-flow technology has allowed the optimization of several different types of conversion. Photoredox catalysts are effective under various reaction conditions because of their single-electron transfer properties. Common photocatalysts include transition metal complexes containing ruthenium, iridium, copper, iron, or manganese; organic photocatalysts; and heterogeneous photocatalysts. This review covers the types of photocatalysts that have recently been used in continuous-flow photochemistry.

Large reflector antennas are widely used as radio telescopes and active main reflectors are generally applied to improve the surface accuracy. Considering that the high cost has been one important problem in engineering, it is worth discussing whether it is necessary to install actuators on all the panels. Thus, in this paper, a hybrid-panel-based new design idea for large reflector antenna is proposed. Assuming that the actuators are installed only in the region of the reflector with large deformations and there are no actuators in other region to reduce the actuator number, the surface accuracies and the corresponding electromagnetic (EM) performances calculated by three different panel adjustment strategies are compared. The most effective method is that the deformed reflector should be first preadjusted to reduce the gravity deformation and then the panels equipped with actuators should be adjusted to the locations determined by the best fitting reflector (BFR) derived by the deformed reflector with no actuators. A 35 m reflector antenna is adopted as an example to calculate the surface accuracy and EM performance when parts of the panels are equipped with actuators. The simulation results show that there is no need to install actuators on all panels and the presented method can greatly reduce the number of actuators with guaranteed surface accuracy. Thus, during the antenna structural design phase, once the surface accuracy requirement is given, the number of actuators can be minimized to reduce the manufacturing and maintenance costs as much as possible. This paper can provide valuable guidance for the design of an active main reflector with hybrid panels.

• Multi-dimensional Ni@C-CoNi with 0D CoNi alloy and 1D Ni@C were synthesized. • The multi-layer heterogeneous interfaces trigger strong interfacial polarization. • Inner 1D Ni interacts with outer 0D CoNi alloy to induce magnetic coupling. • An optimal R L value of -51.4 dB and bandwidth of 4.6 GHz were achieved. Dielectric-magnetic integrated absorbers have attracted arousing attention in microwave absorption, however, it still remains a great challenge to simultaneously achieve superior dielectric polarization and strong magnetic loss. Herein, we propose a multi-scale structure optimization strategy to anchor CoNi-MOFs derived 0D CoNi alloy onto 1D core-shell Ni@C surface. By decorating with the poly-dopamine layer, the connection between 1D NiO and CoNi-MOFs precursors was greatly improved via the electrostatic interaction. Benefiting from the overlapping conductive networks, enhanced interfacial polarization among the multi-dimensional heterogeneous interfaces and strong magnetic interaction, the fabricated multi-dimensional Ni@C-CoNi composites exhibit outstanding microwave absorption. Typically, the optimal reflection loss is as high as –51.4 dB at 1.9 mm, and the effective absorption bandwidth achieves 4.6 GHz with a thickness of only 1.3 mm. This multi-scale structure optimization strategy inspires us with an efficient method to fabricate ideal microwave absorbers and the obtained multi-dimensional composites can be used as promising candidates in electromagnetic radiation protection. Bacterial infections and limited surface lubrication are the two key challenges for bioimplants in dynamic contact with tissues. However, the simultaneous lubricating and antibacterial properties of the bioimplants have rarely been investigated. In this work, we successfully developed a multifunctional coating with simultaneous antibacterial and lubricating properties for surface functionalization of bioimplant materials. The multifunctional coating was fabricated on a polyurethane (PU) substrate via polydopamine (PDA)-assisted multicomponent codeposition, containing polyethyleneimine (PEI) and trace amounts of copper (Cu) as synergistic antibacterial components and zwitterionic poly(2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine) (PMPC) as the lubricating component. The obtained PDA(Cu)/PEI/PMPC coating showed excellent antibacterial activity (antibacterial efficiency: ∼99%) to both Escherichia coliand Staphylococcus aureuscompared with bare PU. The excellent antibacterial properties were attributed to the combined effect of anti-adhesion capability of hydrophilic PMPC and PEI and bactericidal activity of Cu in the coating. Meanwhile, the coefficient of friction of the coating was significantly decreased by ∼52% compared with bare PU owing to the high hydration feature of PMPC, suggesting the superior lubricating property. Furthermore, the PDA(Cu)/PEI/PMPC coating was highly biocompatible toward human umbilical vein endothelial cells demonstrated by in vitrocytotoxicity tests. This study not only contributes to the chemistry of PDA-assisted multicomponent codeposition but also provides a facile and practical way for rational design of multifunctional coatings for medical devices.

The photocatalytic reduction of CO2to energy-rich chemicals is highly appealing for alleviation of energy crisis and environment pollution. The introduction of different active sites is a key factor to determine the reaction activity and selectivity. Here, we demonstrate the metal ion-dependent performance for photocatalytic CO2reduction by anchoring transition metal ions (Co2+and Ni2+) in an amine-functionalized boron imidazolate framework (BIF-43). As a result, Ni@BIF-43realized a high selectivity of 90.2% for the CO2-to-CO, while Co@BIF-43achieved more efficient conversion with a high CO production rate of 2036.0 µmol g−1h−1. Significantly, precise control of isolated metal site on a well-defined structure through coordination-assisted strategies enables us to better understand the specific effects of different metal-ion species on photoreduction of CO2as well as the catalytic mechanism.

ABSTRACTBreast cancer is characterized by high morbidity and mortality. GDC-0941 is a PI3K inhibitor with oncogenic effects in breast cancer. However, certain breast cancer cells are insensitive to GDC-0941. Hence, the mechanism of GDC-0941 in breast cancer resistance was investigated in this study. Breast cancer cell lines BT-474, MCF7, Hs-578-T, MDA-MB-231, MDA-MB-453, and MDA-MB-468 were cultured in different medium and then treated with 100 or 500 nM GDC-0941, 100 nM OSU-T315, or TNF-α antibody. Moreover, ILK and shILK were transfected into cells. The half maximal inhibitory concentrations (IC50) for GDC-0941 were detected using CCK-8 assay. The levels of ILK, AKT, PDK1, S6, and p70S6K expression were detected using western blotting and qPCR. In addition, the mouse model of breast cancer was constructed to measure the tumor size, volume, and weight. The results showed that GDC-0941 decreased cell survival rate, downregulated the phosphorylation of AKT, S6, and p70S6K, and promoted the expression of ILK, while it had little effect on PDK1 expression. GDC-0941 inhibited the increases in p-AKT, p-S6, and p-p70S6K caused by ILK overexpression and promoted ILK knockdown-induced reduction of p-AKT, p-S6, and p-p70S6K. In addition, the combination of OSU-T315 and GDC-0941 decreased p-AKT, p-S6, and p-p70S6K level, tumor volume, and tumor weight. GDC-0941 promoted ILK expression by upregulating TNF-α level. Taken together, GDC-0941 increased ILK level by upregulating TNF-α, thus affecting AKT expression and the sensitivity of breast cancer cells to GDC-0941.

Inhibition of the PD-1/PD-L1 interaction through small-molecule inhibitors is a promising therapeutic approach in cancer immunotherapy. Herein, we utilized BMS-202as the lead compound to develop a series of novel PD-1/PD-L1 small-molecule inhibitors with a naphthyridin scaffold. Among these compounds, X14displayed the most potent inhibitory activity for the PD-1/PD-L1 interaction (IC50= 15.73 nM). Furthermore, X14exhibited good binding affinity to both human PD-L1 (KD= 14.62 nM) and mouse PD-L1 (KD= 392 nM). In particular, X14showed favorable pharmacokinetic properties (oral bioavailability, F= 58.0%). In the 4T1 (mouse breast cancer cells) syngeneic mouse model, intragastric administration of X14at 10 mg/kg displayed significant antitumor efficacy (TGI = 66%). Mechanistic investigations revealed that X14effectively enhanced T-cell infiltration within the tumor microenvironment. Our study demonstrates that compound X14exhibits potential as a candidate compound for the development of orally effective small-molecule inhibitors targeting PD-1/PD-L1.

A process for achieving photocatalyzed tri- and difluoromethylation/cyclizations for constructing a series of tri- or difluoromethylated indole[2,1-a]isoquinoline derivatives is described. This protocol utilized an inexpensive organic photoredox catalyst and provided good yields. Moreover, the combination of continuous flow and photochemistry, designed to provide researchers with a unique green process, was also shown to be key to allowing the reaction to proceed (product yield of 83% in flow vs 0% in batch).

Dysregulation of the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway is critically involved in gastric cancer (GC) progression. However, current Wnt pathway inhibitors being studied in preclinical or clinical settings for other cancers such as colorectal and pancreatic cancers are either too cytotoxic or insufficiently efficacious for GC. Thus, we screened new potent targets from ß-catenin destruction complex associated with GC progression from clinical samples, and found that scaffolding protein RACK1 deficiency plays a significant role in GC progression, but not APC, AXIN, and GSK3ß. Then, we identified its upstream regulator UBE2T which promotes GC progression via hyperactivating the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway through the ubiquitination and degradation of RACK1 at the lysine K172, K225, and K257 residues independent of an E3 ligase. Indeed, UBE2T protein level is negatively associated with prognosis in GC patients, suggesting that UBE2T is a promising target for GC therapy. Furthermore, we identified a novel UBE2T inhibitor, M435-1279, and suggested that M435-1279 acts inhibit the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway hyperactivation through blocking UBE2T-mediated degradation of RACK1, resulting in suppression of GC progression with lower cytotoxicity in the meantime. Overall, we found that increased UBE2T levels promote GC progression via the ubiquitination of RACK1 and identified a novel potent inhibitor providing a balance between growth inhibition and cytotoxicity as well, which offer a new opportunity for the specific GC patients with aberrant Wnt/ß-catenin signaling.

Considering the fast speed and strong manoeuvring of small offshore targets, traditional filtering algorithms cannot effectively track the filtering due to the unstable grid centre of weak manoeuvring target and slow tracking convergence of strong manoeuvring target. To overcome this problem, an adaptive grid interaction multiple model (AGIMM) tracking filter algorithm based on manoeuvring feature correction was developed. The modified algorithm detects the target manoeuvring according to the residual information of the filter, while the model structure can be adjusted under different manoeuvring conditions. Monte Carlo simulation shows that the AGIMM algorithm based on manoeuvring feature correction can improve the calculation accuracy by 35% and reduce the calculation time by 18%.

Presented here are two novel porous supramolecular boron imidazolate frameworks (BIF-106 and BIF-107), which are stabilized through relatively weak interactions between two-dimensional boron imidazolate layers. Moreover, BIF-107 exhibits efficient CO2photoreduction to CO with a remarkable rate of 1186.0 μmol·g–1·h–1under visible-light irradiation.

Background: Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) and members of its homologous protein family mediate transmembrane signal transduction by binding to a specific ligand, which leads to regulated cell growth, differentiation, proliferation and metastasis. With the development and application of Genetically Engineered Antibodies (GEAs), Nanobodies (Nbs) constitute a new research hot spot in many diseases. A Nb is characterized by its low molecular weight, deep tissue penetration, good solubility and high antigen-binding affinity, the anti-EGFR Nbs are of significance for the diagnosis and treatment of EGFR-positive tumours. Objective: This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the information about the molecular structure of EGFR and its transmembrane signal transduction mechanism, and discuss the anti-EGFR-Nbs influence on the diagnosis and treatment of solid tumours. Methods: Data were obtained from PubMed, Embase and Web of Science. All patents are searched from the following websites: the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO®), the United States Patent Trademark Office (USPTO®) and Google Patents. Results: EGFR is a key target for regulating transmembrane signaling. The anti-EGFR-Nbs for targeted drugs could effectively improve the diagnosis and treatment of solid tumours. Conclusion: EGFR plays a role in transmembrane signal transduction. The Nbs, especially anti- EGFR-Nbs, have shown effectiveness in the diagnosis and treatment of solid tumours. How to increase the affinity of Nb and reduce its immunogenicity remain a great challenge.

Titanium-based coordination cages are fascinating in the field of supramolecular and photophysical chemistry. Herein, we address the unprecedented supramolecular co-assembly arrangement of a cubic Ti8L12cage with [Ti(DMF)6] species and Ti12-oxo cluster, contributing to the cocrystals of {Ti8L12+ Ti(DMF)6} (PTC-116) and {Ti8L12+ Ti12-oxo} (PTC-117). The ESI-MS and 1H NMR measurements reveal their stability in solution. The photophysical properties of these supramolecular complexes in solution, including light absorption and photoluminescent behaviors, were further investigated.

The present study examined the value of P(v-a)CO2/C(a-v)O2 compared with ScvO2 as a target for clinical resuscitation of severe sepsis/septic shock.

ABSTRACTBackground: We investigated the influence of miR-144 on the cisplatin-sensitivity of anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC) cells and explored the internal molecular mechanism of miR-144.Methods: Thyroid cancer cells ARO, TPC1 and normal thyroid cells HT-ori3 were used in this research. Expressions of miR-144 and TGF-α were uncovered by western blot and qRT-PCR. Expressions of autophagy-related protein LC3 II and apoptosis-related protein Caspase-3 and PARP were explored by western blot and immunofluorescence. Cell viability was detected by MTT assay and apoptosis condition was revealed by flow cytometric analysis and TUNEL staining. Dual-luciferase reporter assay was employed to verify the target relationship. Tissue sections were detected by IHC. Xenograft assay was conducted to further verify conclusions in vivo.Results: MiR-144, which was low expressed in ATC cells and tissues, could inhibit autophagy activation induced by cisplatin, enhancing the sensitivity of ATC cells to cisplatin, and promoting cell apoptosis. TGF-α was the target of miR-144 and was negatively regulated by it. MiR-144 could improve the sensitivity of ATC cells to cisplatin and inhibit tumor growth by suppressing TGF-α both in vitroand in vivo.Conclusion: MiR-144 could inhibit autophagy of ATC cells by down-regulating TGF-α, enhancing the cisplatin-sensitivity of ATC cells.

In the context of robotics, configuration space (cspace) is widely used for non-circular robots to engage tasks such as path planning, collision check, and motion planning. In many real-time applications, it is important for a robot to give a quick response to the user’s command. Therefore, a constant bound on planning time per action is severely imposed. However, existing search algorithms used in c-space gain first move lags which vary with the size of the underlying problem. Furthermore, applying real-time search algorithms on c-space maps often causes the robots being trapped within local minima. In order to solve the above mentioned problems, we extend the learning real-time search (LRTS) algorithm to search on a set of c-space generalized Voronoi diagrams (c-space GVDs), helping the robots to incrementally plan a path, to efficiently avoid local minima, and to execute fast movement. In our work, an incremental algorithm is firstly proposed to build and represent the c-space maps in Boolean vectors. Then, the method of detecting grid-based GVDs from the c-space maps is further discussed. Based on the c-space GVDs, details of the LRTS and its implementation considerations are studied. The resulting experiments and analysis show that, using LRTS to search on the c-space GVDs can 1) gain smaller and constant first move lags which is independent of the problem size; 2) gain maximal clearance from obstacles so that collision checks are much reduced; 3) avoid local minima and thus prevent the robot from visually unrealistic scratching.

The autopilot positioning process is mainly affected by three aspects: the first is the spatial geometric distribution of positioning sensors; the second is the screening of spurious observations; and the third is the equivalent ranging error. A constrained positioning method based on the geometric distribution of FitzHugh–Nagumo (FHN) neurons is proposed. To reduce the geometric accuracy factor, a Horizontal Dilution Of Precision value algorithm with a weight factor was proposed by considering the spatial geometric distribution of base stations and the geometric relationship of anchor points. This paper proposes a geometric constraint data processing method for the error of the pseudo-observation value. Finally, considering the significant weak signal perception ability of the biological nervous system, and the stochastic resonance phenomenon caused by noise can enhance the ability of the neuronal system to detect weak signals, an ultrasonic receiving method based on the stochastic resonance characteristics of FHN neuronal system is proposed, to enhance the signal and reduce noise. The results show that under the optimized base station layout and data geometric constraint processing, the ultrasonic wave based on FHN neuron improves the accuracy of spurious observations, reduces the calculation amount of geometric constraint processing, and reduces the positioning error by 66.67%, which provides a new direction for improving the positioning accuracy.

Photocatalyzed alkylsulfonylation of unactivated alkenes using DABCO.(SO2)2and thianthrenium salts viaa distal heteroaryl migration process has been developed, which provides a new means of synthesizing a variety of valuable alkylsulfonyl-substituted compounds. These alkylsulfonyl radicals couple with unactivated alkenes to undergo efficient intermolecular reactions, followed by distal heteroaryl migration. This mild catalytic method is tolerant of functional groups and affords medicinally relevant alkylsulfonylated heterocycles.

To report a rare adult case of cystic teratoma of the neck. A 51-year-old male patient who had a neck mass for 20 years, and the mass enlarged with the symptom of neck compression in two weeks. The patient was performed a surgical operation after a definite diagnosis through a CT scan, pathology, and other necessary examinations. It is rare to find an adult case of cystic teratoma of the neck. The physician should explore rare cases with detailed imaging studies for early diagnosis and prevention of potentially fatal complications such as malignant transformation, airway obstruction, and dysphagia.

This study describes a visible-light-induced cascade reaction for preparing cyanoalkyl-containing polyheterocycles initiated by the photoinduced radical cascade addition of N-arylacrylamide derivatives using cyclic oxime esters as radical sources followed by cyanoalkyl-mediated cyclization. This protocol features outstanding functional group compatibility, providing a variety of desired phenanthridine derivatives in moderate to good yields. Moreover, the application of a microflow technique enhanced these reactions compared with the equivalent batch reaction, significantly reducing reaction times to 10 min.

Aims and background Keratinocyte growth factor (KGF) is reported to be implicated in the growth of some cancer cells. Matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) is thought to enhance the tumor invasion and metastasis ability. This study was aimed at analyzing the relationship between KGF and MMP-9 expression and patients' clinicopathological characteristics to clarify the clinical significance of the expression of KGF and MMP-9 in gastric cancer.Methods Tissue samples from 161 patients with primary gastric cancer were investigated using immunohistochemistry. The relationship between KGF and/or MMP-9 expression and clinicopathological characteristics was analyzed.Results KGF expression and MMP-9 expression in gastric cancer tissue were observed in 62 cases (38.5%) and 97 cases (60.2%), respectively. MMP-9 was significantly associated with depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage. The prognosis of MMP-9-positive patients was significantly poorer than that of MMP-9-negative patients (p = 0.009). KGF expression was positively correlated with MMP-9 expression in gastric cancer, and the prognosis of patients with both KGF- and MMP-9-positive tumors was significantly worse than that of patients with negative tumors for either factor (p = 0.045). Expression of MMP-9 was revealed to be an independent prognostic factor (p = 0.026).Conclusions Coexpression of KGF and MMP-9 in gastric cancer could be a useful prognostic factor, and MMP-9 might also serve as a novel target for both prognostic prediction and therapeutics.

A fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) method based on gold nanoclusters capped glutathione (AuNCs@GSH) and amine-terminated gold nanorods (AuNRs) is designed for turn-on and near-infrared region (NIR) sensing of glutathione S-transferase (GST). The absorption band of AuNRs is tuned carefully to maximize the spectra overlap and enhance the efficiency of FRET. The FRET from multiple AuNCs to single AuNR quenches about 70% fluorescence emission of AuNCs. After GST is added, the strong specific interaction of GSH–GST can replace the AuNCs@GSH from AuNRs, FRET based on electrostatic interaction between AuNCs@GSH and AuNRs is switched off. Thus, emission enhancement of AuNCs@GSH is observed. The fluorescent enhancement is linearly with the increasing GST concentration over the range of 2–100 nM GST and the limit of detection for GST is about 1.5 nM.

As for ultrasonic gas flow meters, special attention should be paid to transducer installation effect as the flow disturbed by transducers will greatly affect the transit time determination and accordingly reduce metering accuracy. This paper presents a numerical method to analyze the disturbed effects based on Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD), which can give valuable guides for transducer installations. Different pipe configurations covering a wide velocity range are modelled to simulate the actual flow field in different chords for three transducer installations including protrusion, recess and half protrusion. Then, detailed results are presented and the mechanism is analyzed to give suggestions about better transducer installations and a modified weighting factor method to improve the incredible error is also given in this paper.

We have systemically studied the properties of 1ES 1959+650, specifically its multiband variability and emission mechanisms. We carefully analyze multiband variability properties by four different kinds of trusted approaches. In contrast with previous research and thanks to our more detailed data, we find that an unprecedented significant quasi-periodic component with timescale P=266.2−7.2+7.5in the optical Rband indeed exists. We suggest that this light curve may result from accretion flow instabilities. Further, among the multiband spectra, we find no significant correlation between different bands, which implies that the physical origin of the dominant radiation for different bands is not the same. Motivated by these results, we go on further to study the radiation mechanisms based on quasi-simultaneous spectra. Here, a model that self-consistently involves protons, electrons, and photons is used to study the light curve and interpret the spectral energy distribution of 1ES 1959+650. Considering the variability properties and model calculation, we suggest that the variation of the cutoff energy of electrons and protons may dominate the variability of X-ray and γ-ray bands in 1ES 1959+650.

In this study, chitosan (CS)/titanium dioxide (TiO2) microspheres with different nanoTiO2 content were obtained by suspension cross-linking technique and characterized by FT-IR and SEM. The strong peak of C=N stretching vibrations at 1641 cm-1 were found which demonstrated that amino groups of CS reacted with aldehyde group of glutaraldehyde. SEM photographs showed that the CS/TiO2 microspheres were spherical, and the size of the CS/TiO2 microspheres ranging from 50 to 170 μm was analyzed with the software of Image J. The entrapment efficiency of the CS/TiO2 microspheres was up to 67.7%. Compared with CS, CS/TiO2 microspheres had better antibacterial activity against S. aureus and E. coli with a MIC value of 0.0125%.

A series of pseudo-static tests were conducted with 4 coupling beams whose span-depth ratio 1.2. Common reinforced concrete and PVA fiber reinforced concrete were used for different specimens. In each of the specimens, there were longitudinal reinforcement, constructional reinforcement and stirrup, one of the specimens had crossed reinforcing bars. The failure mode of the coupling beams were studied, as well as hysteretic behavior. The test result indicated that using PVA fiber reinforced concrete could improve coupling beams carrying capacity, and could also reduce the amount of stirrup needed for seismic calculation; PVA members ductility was also improved.

The online social networks (OSNs) offer attractive means for social interactions and data sharing, as well as raise a number of security and privacy issues. Although current solutions propose to encrypt data before sharing, the access control of encrypted data has become a challenging task. Moreover, multiple owners may enforce different access policy to the same data because of their different privacy concerns. A digital rights management (DRM) scheme is proposed for encrypted data in OSNs. In order to protect users' sensitive data, the scheme allows users outsource encrypted data to the OSNs service provider for sharing and customize the access policy of their data based on ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption. Furthermore, the scheme presents a multiparty access control model based on identity-based broadcast encryption and ciphertext-policy attribute-based proxy re-encryption, which enables multiple owners, such as tagged users who appear in a single data, customize the access policy collaboratively, and also allows the disseminators update the access policy if their attributes satisfy the existing access policy. Security analysis and comparison indicate that the proposed scheme is secure and efficient.
