Abstract

•Considers variations of stochastic gradient descent for distributed learning with Byzantine adversaries.•Stochastic gradient information is aggregated using a robust aggregation procedure instead of averaging.•We provide a simplified convergence proof under standard smoothness and stochastic gradient assumptions.•Suitable for a general class of robust averaging procedures, for which several concrete implementations exist.
