Background: Research suggests peer support groups can amplify and extend treatment effects and enhance long-term recovery from Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) problems. However, they are rarely integrated into outpatient treatment programs, resulting in a missed opportunity for peer-to-peer learning, and increased connection to others social networks where people want to reduce or cease substance use. Method: In this mixed-methods study, we examined the uptake, participant experiences and impacts of Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART) when embedded in three public AOD treatment programs in a pilot program in Australia. Groups were delivered initially in-person but transitioned online during the COVID-19 pandemic. Results: A total of 75 SMART Recovery groups were run by the pilot sites, with an average attendance of 6.5 people per meeting. Among Participants (N= 31) who completed the survey, 94% reported benefits relating to substance use (i.e., reduction/ successful maintenance of abstinence), 71% reported improvements in their mental health and wellbeing, 74% reported improvements in their physical health, and 81% reported feeling better connected with others. In-depth qualitative interviews were conducted with 10 participants to explore their experiences. Thematic analysis revealed four themes: motivation to attend, active ingredients, views on the integration of SMART into formal AOD, and the advantages and disadvantages of online groups. Conclusion: Taken together, these findings suggest embedding SMART Recovery in AOD treatment is a worthwhile endeavour. This was indicated by a good uptake and evidence of multiple and unique benefits to participants over and above their usual care, notably, better management of their AOD use, health, wellbeing, and sense of connection with others.

One of its most important properties is that it handles difficult situations such as managing the Dirac pulse that is encountered when switching off a real inductance.

This paper describes the necessity of the third-party testing and monitoring in the field of e-business infrastructure, with the emphasis on expanding into the wireless environments for improvement of the quality of service. Outlining the purpose for monitoring and testing, this paper shows the methods of overwhelming the current problems in the wireless computing, giving statistical and anticipated references for devices that have an active role in mobile environments.

Deciding on the lexical status of a word can be facilitated by a preceding, semantically related word. Three experiments are reported demonstrating a different kind of facilitation due to the grammatical relation between function words and content words in Serbo-Croatian. A pronoun facilitated or inhibited the lexical decision on a following verb depending on whether the person of the verb, as represented by its inflected ending, agreed with the person of the pronoun. Also, verbs primed subsequent pronouns but the pattern of results for the verbal priming of pronouns was markedly different from that for the pronominal priming of verbs. The results suggest that the organization of the internal lexicon is sensitive to grammatical relations as well as semantical relations between words.

The results of the systematic investigation of the influence of the high voltage substation equivalent circuit configuration in lightning performance estimation are presented. The effect of the overvoltage increase in the equivalent circuit with more than one capacitance connected, compared to the case of the single capacitance equivalent circuit, is explained and the procedure for a number of equivalent circuit elements reduction is presented. For five typical substation layouts, the complete sensitivity analysis of the equivalent circuit configuration is completed.

Three lexical decision experiments are reported that test the use of inflectional and word-order strategies by adult readers of Serbo-Croatian to assign syntactic roles of subject and object. No word-order effects are observed when both syntactic roles are specified unambiguously by inflection (Experiment 1) or when the object's inflection only is unambiguous (Experiment 3). Word-order influences on lexical decision are obtained when neither syntactic role is specified (Experiment 3) and when the subject's inflection only is unambiguous (Experiment 2). Results are discussed in terms of word-byword vs clausal processing and, more generally, in terms of Forster's model of the language processor.

The theory of the simulated capacitor or resistor array parasitic-insensitive/offset-nulling (SCORPION) digital to analogue convenor (DAC) is presented. This unique DAC architecture features high speed, high modularity, reduced 1/f noise and excellent economy. The properties of this DAC allow modular development of n-bit DACs in MOS.
